Let me put the flowchart again.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3J69V5VPDG0H/image.png

Instead of writing a paragraph, I will make a list

    • Nurse gets exhausted after blink, Spirit doesnt get it after phase.
    • Nurse has to decide either not lung to faster recover, or risking miss a lung and slower recover. Spirit can just stop phasing, checking Survivor's place and chase/lung.
    • Nurse deplete her powerbar no matter how short her blink is. Spirit barely use her 25% power bar at loops.
    • Nurse gives info: her length of charging (be able to hear by her breathing), direction she's facing, the dragging direction of her blink. Spirit gives nothing.
    • Nurse speed is 96, makes her have to rely on her power all the time to hit Survivor. Spirit speed is 110, with no punishment after a fail phase, makes Survivor's good play seems pointless.

Since great Nurse & Spirit can read survivors' movement no matter what (both are unfair). But because of the punishment Nurse gets from her mistakes, make her much more enjoyable to vs an average Nurse (more mistake, more windows to escape). An average Spirit gets zero punishment, make it no difference between an average & a great Spirit.

    Nicely said.

I know another spirit post, but I've read a lot of post about her and people are convinced there is counter play to her. I'm here to tell you the very truth. The only counterplay a spirit has is using a god pallet or god window that's it. There's no other counterplay to her and I will explain why many of the supposed counters to her are wrong.

The first one is running back through your scratch marks. This is by far the most stupid one to do because you literally are running back towards the spirit and will run head on into her and she will down you. Don't ever do this because a spirit with a brain will instantly get you.

The second counter play I hear is to hold w and break line of sight. This still doesn't work because the spirit will phase to you and catch you before you can make it anywhere. Also breaking line of sight doesn't help because she uses sound to track you not scratch marks, scratch marks are the very least the spirit should worry about. Also you are invisible to the spirit already if she phases so how would breaking line of sight help in the first place.

The third counter is slow vaulting windows or pallets. This also doesn't work because you guessed it, you make noise still while slow vaulting. The survivor makes a moaning while slow vaulting. I know it isn't loud, but is still easily heard if your paying attention. Also slow vaulting into a fast vault doesn't work because when you fast vault dust kicks up into the air on the side you fast vaulted.

The last counterplay that I I've seen is the reverse pallet drop. You drop the pallet infront of you instead of running through and dropping it. Again this doesn't work because of sound. The spirit can hear your breathing and when injured moaning. Alls she has to do is to 50% around to pallet here what side you on and come out and hit you. Also you through the pallet in the direction that the spirit is coming from so if she desides to go head on towards the pallet your screwed.

That is all I have on the Spirit counterplay. I am open to hearing your guys thoughts on the matter (please be civil) and maybe you can try to change my mind on it, but for know the only counter to spirit IMO is using a god pallet or window.

There is counterplay to spirit in the form of spine chill(and IW obviously).Stridor spirit though?

there i said it again, couldn't resist...

Is this really all it takes to get a killer nerfed?

Just keep spamming freddy hate threads until nerf.

Now he's nerfed let's spam spirit hate threads

    Exactly.

  • @Tsulan said:

Oh you are one of those.

Because nothing sucks more, when 3 gens get completed by the first hook and that person instantly suicides.

No,i didnt mean literally suicide once im hooked even if 4 gens done.As i said above 19/20 times 5 gens up and team is garbage that's all.

  • @Luciferr_2nd said:

Yeah its definitely unfun and frustrating to go against, but maybe stay in the match to not screw over your teammates

Struggle through that match and itll only be 10 minutes until youre in another match.

Usually(19/20 times) what happens is the killer has more than 60 IQ and everyone drops like flies with 5 gens up.

  • @GeneralV said:

Well, you shouldn't screw your teammates because of who the killer is / which build they are using.

I absolutely despise Ghostface, but I never DC or suicide on hook when I face him.

There is a counter to GF,it's called spine chill. And it is an amazing perk overall.

There's a lot of maps that are awful for killer but I think a lot of killers are just too happy go lucky with their chases. You SHOULD be defending a third or half of the map that has 3-4 gens on it and not getting baited to run around the whole map.

They don't have a plan, they just run from chase to chase. All over the map, leaving gens undefended and allowing the survivors to split up.

    Bingo

  • Solo q is a miserable experience RN.

The worst times i've had in this game in 2 years.

Bad teammates, bad matchmaking, camping toxic r1 killers at 5 gens etc.Either SWF it or quit it.

  • @solidhex said:

...how a good survivor on a favourable map can run even a good killer for basically a whole game. He wasn't even using Dead hard. Sure the map is generally in survivors favour and he had some good setups but still, there is really not much you can do than holding w and break pallet after pallet, because the classic mindgames don't work very well when survivors play it safe.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REzTAJDKrbw

U realize Otz wans't using his power huh?and he was on trapper.Basically m1 all game till u down a survivor. My grandma can loop a killer all game like this.

  • @Pukenplag said:

First, this is not feedback. Not a bug report. I just want to dicuss, in GENERAL DISCUSSION please.

I have played killer and just got absolutely bored for having 4ks every match because everyone is just throwing down all the pallets they see.

So I decided to move on to survivor. This is the third match I DC in a row. Yeah, call me toxic, but I just can't keep playing in these ######### show matches.

First, I get survivors trying to get me off the gen to heal me while I was fully infected and then, when I get hooked, I see that all my team mates are just crouching around (after 2 mins of a chase, I started to get really curious why we still are at 3 gens). I got farmed off hook, but no DC yet. Then I get hooked once more, and I see that our default Dwight just randomly threw down the shack pallet because he saw the killer (hooking me btw) and got scared. I just got fed up and DCed.

Second time, I get 3 rank 19 guys farming me off hook and themselves, after I do 3 gens alone and chase the killer for a good time. At some point, the killer wasn't so close when I got unhooked, the unhooker was injured. He just came back with both of us running, unhooker ahead, but he just waited for him to pass in order to tunnel me. After everything, I just angered so much I DC again.

Third match, it was a Myers. He got to tier 3 and after 4 mins he was still t3. Clearly, he had infinite T3. I got caught, and while hooked, I saw 2 of my team mates self caring in a corner. SELF CARE WHILE MYERS IS INFINITE T3. Then, as he saw I was the only one capable of chasing, he tunneled me. 2 gens left since I got first caught. Everyone crouching around while Myers is nodding on me. Once more, he tunnels me when I get off the hook.

No, I didn't DC, I Alt-F4ed. I never, but NEVER had such a bad experience. I almost never DC, but after I get a match in which my team mates are just doing NOTHING but SELF CARING against an INFINITE TIER 3 MYERS, sorry, I have my own limits.

My exact feelings with the game lately.I started dc'ing a lot where i never done it.The game has become a shitshow.

If RE chapter is a dissapointment....Tons of $ will fly away.

  • Wow really low percentages there.Over only 1k hours?30-40%.

    Over 3k hours? maybe 5%.

  • I am sorry for all players except SWF.In EU,peak hours there is at least 5 minutes queue solo red rank, only to be place with yellow and purple teammates vs r1 killer.EVERY GAME for me.

I dont know what they need to fix honestly,i'm at my limits with this game.

  • @TGB said:

BP is why I quit this game years ago.

Upon hearing that all perks [etc] are unlocked in custom games, my friends and I have come back to the game to play 5-man lobbies, and those have been lots of fun. And I feel like I'm able to play a game I've never been able to play before.

... But when everyone's offline or they don't wanna play DBD and I do, I'm left with... ... ... ranked mode. Where I have a weak Claudette, or totally perkless Killers.

From my lazy calculations, it takes about 1.5mil BP to level 40 a character... to unlock their Teachables... which then you still have to grind out the RNGweb to get on any given character...

THEN, god forbid you're trying to play Killer in general, trying to farm BP/perks... It's nothing but BM'ing, teabagging 4-stacks with quad flashlights and maximum perks, ranks 1-8 versus your rank 18 Killer... And GOD FORBID you actually hook someone. They just leave the game and rob you of your BP...

THE REAL GAME IS A COMPLETELY UNFUN NIGHTMARE.

But custom games are a LOT OF FUN.

... Why not just MAKE the real game fun, too????? Playing the game, without BP on your mind, lets you focus on the actual game, and lets you just have fun with it. Having all the perks, again, LETS YOU PLAY THE GAME, and not spend your entire life trying to farm for the next thing.

At LEAST let me pay money to get my perks. Don't let all the Sunk Cost Fallaciers gatekeep DBD by being against that. Let DBD be a GOOD GAME. If everyone wants a game where you grind your whole life away and have something to show for it, Runescape is still alive & well. Go play that. The rest of us want to play DBD. (But can't.)

Just play the game, have fun and try not to think about BP that much, that's how it adds up fast.At least for me.πŸ˜‰

  • Remove the heat mechanic,i prefer facing god billys than god spirits and nurses.

  • @Northener1907 said:

I love playing both roles and i love both roles. And i am sure this game survivorside most of times.

But i do not know how killing rates so high with this all insane maps & survside design. Most of my survivor games 4 escape is rare. Killers have min 2 kills most of my survivor matches.

Also on my killer games is same. 0 kill is so rare for me (when i face really god tier survivors or when i play really so bad then i have 0 or 1 kill). I have 2 kills even in the sweaty matches. 4K is not hard on normal matches and most of matches just normal and chilling. Gen rushing is hard but when i keep someone on hook, that makes them slower.

So i am really not understanding. Most of maps survivor side, most of maps have insane loop areas and pallets. How can killers have so much kills. That is just my experience but i do not think that is different for other killer mains. So what you are thinking?

My killers i play btw: Freddy, Pyramid Head, Learherface, Ghostface, Myers and i am learning Huntress & Nurse.

The answer is slug and hook camp.If killer plays fair and survivors play optimally killer lose.

  • @QTGamerGRILL said:

Title pretty much says it all. Genuinely curious, as it felt pretty easy and took less than 60 hours of play time, with a good 30-40% of that AFK/tabbed out.

I ran wraith to rank 1, perks were Sloppy Butcher, BBQ Chili OR Franklins depending if they had a lot of items, Nurses Calling, and the Crow perk, I forget what it's called, but it notifies you when someone is near a crow.

I dont wanna debate u but with 60 hours of playtime u got perks from 3 killers?

What do u mean by that?i get teams constantly with 100 hours at red ranks.Personally i hit r1 as killer back in 2019 in less than 2 weeks.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

you could play this game for 500 hours and still be terrible compared to others at your playtime

    applies to many games

some people just don't want to learn and continue playing casually

it'll be just as useless as the current ranking

Yes u could, but as of right now as solo i have teammates with something like 100 hours(yes i know smurf accounts,no,still terrible)

And this is not cs go or whatever,a super casual with 2k hours should at least know basic gameplay, the maps layout etc.

  • Do what i do and pretend there are no ranks at all. There is a 5-10 minutes queue in peak hours that you get rainbow ranks anyway. So my advice just play to have fun.

Hitting r1 as killer personally i find it piss easy,r1 as solo?i don't know, you need to dodge lobbies if your gut tells u your teammates are new.If u have all the time in the world of course.Otherwise good luck.U're gonna need it.

I mean character-wise Trickster's pretty cool. Plus it's not easy to acquire licenses, I'm surprised they were even able to get Silent Hill, SAW, and even RE into the game.

Everything is easy. The only obstacle is money.

  • I think what he is trying to say is if u think u face a SWF stay afk, dont let them have their fun and they have to wait 10 minutes in queue while killer gets instant queue in peak hours.

Seriously. Now that it can be properly protected by Undying (until recently it was bugged to lose tokens), it's brutal as hell.

The blindness status is kinda bad, sure, but it's only bad in small amounts.

Blindness on 1-2 people from a Clown add-on is dogshit.

Blindness on an entire team indefinitely is incredible.

Even though a SWF can mitigate Third Seal with comms, 99% of SWF lobbies don't have the necessary degree of constant, precise communications necessary to properly deal with third seal, and if a solo player is out of the loop they're #########.

To give you an idea of all the things this ######### with to some degree...

    • Trail of Torment's highlight is not shown
    • Hag Traps are not highlighted by clicking a flashight
    • People cannot find slugs.

    • People cannot properly coordinate Sabo saves.
    • People cannot properly coordinate Bodyblocks.
    • If they don't pay attention, people can easily miss where a hook is.

    • Breakout (good luck coordinating this when you can't find the slugs)
    • Buckle Up
    • Dark Sense
    • Deliverance (in solo queue, the blocking of perks like Kindred and Bond means you aren't the only one who is going to go for the save)
    • Deja Vu
    • Detective's Hunch
    • Empathy

A big factor for how good Third Seal feels is that most survivors are not used to fighting Third Seal.

I like to watch the VOD after I fight a TTV player, and the rate at which Third Seal causes them or their SWF to make massive misplays (up to and including allowing people to die on hook or on the ground because they can't find them) is absolutely massive.

Now I'm intrigued to try it on the twins 😈😈😈

  • @SleepingPilot said:

This is just a mental health PSA.

So, I just figured out what TTV in survivors names means (yeah, I know) and played against a team of twitch streamers a couple of nights ago.

The survivors all escaped but it was a fun match and all but one was on their last hook so I thought it would be fun to see the match from the survivor side. Big mistake. Twitch streamers are really mean.

The streamer posted the full night on his channel and they just were the worst. Apparently I deserve to be put on a "registry with sex offenders" because I ran tinkerer. I am a (bad word) because I am rank 1 (I didn't make that judgement call, I don't even know how to run loops, it isnt my fault the game says I'm rank 1).

They acted like everything successful I did was an example of my moral failings, and I didn't deserve any hits i got or hooks, but also that I was moron when I made mistakes.

They were running OoO, playing with perfect communication and stream 6.5 hours every night about.

Like why have that toxic attitude? It's like a pro football team smashing a bunch of high school players, calling them (bad words) for losing but when they fumble screaming at these kids that it isnt fair since they are wearing red jerseys.

So, don't watch past Twitch streams. Live in your head that the people you are playing with are kind and just having fun like you. Twitch streamers, I hope you are entertained.

Fyi- I play on console so no post game chat. I now see how that might be for the best. Oh, and yes they tbed but everyone does, I don't take that seriously.

Do not worry, let them have fun with their 3 viewers.

Few tips before trying to flashlight:

    • Remember the survivors butt is in the same area as the killers face. This is good when hiding behind cover.
    • Make sure your aim is good. You want to practice this at pallets and get used to it. Make sure the second you start flashlighting, it's aimed at the face.
    • Learn a good distance (helps aim). I'd say roughly the distance from one end of shack to the other is good. Though you can blind from closer and farther away.
    • Bring Iron Will for when your injured.
    • Once the killer starts moving, STOP WASTING THE BATTERY.

    Now here's the timing currently:

    • When the killer picks the survivor off the ground they lift them up, then drop them slightly to hook their arm under the survivor. As the begin picking the survivor up again start blinding about half way up the body.
    • You can go for some crazy flashlights at roughly 60Β° either side of the killers face if you can't do it face on (not guaranteed).
    • You can do it at lockers, pallets, windows, gens and unhooks but these shouldn't be practised till you've learned the easy flashlights.
    • Flashlights can be very forgiving. You can aim at the killers chest and still get the save. As long as you beam is near their face then you can readjust (aim closer to their face) while still blinding them.

What this guy said and also don't be hasty thinking you are not gonna make it in time.Be patient and chill and get to know the right angles.

  • It's a video game trend where 1) pro players usually play females so the hordes just copy what the pros do,2) you feel more powerful(more pro)for some wierd reason in video games while playing females.

  • Ace "moderately toxic"?

Just a post to ask people what they would improve about dead by daylight, it doesn't have to be large scale game wide changes it can be simple, or niche as a single killer addon I just want to know what 3 things you would change

Here are mine just to start the party

    1. Change progression so its less grindy, any combination of less perk tiers, and more of a way for players to get what they want would make the game feel much nicer to play all the way from a new players starting to an older player grinding out perks on a character they like
    2. Link survivor inventory between all survivors and killer offering inventory between all killers
    3. Change prestiging to not remove anything, keep all perks, addons, and offerings but set the bloodweb back to level 1 with the new prestige

    #2 please,make it happen bhvr!

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2124985#Comment_2124985

    Very well.

"It's a matchmaking issue-" No. No it isn't.

It's not a matchmaking issue when solos are inherently weaker than SWF players, and are forced to use perks to get information they get for free.

It's not a matchmaking issue when you cannot coordinate.

It's not a matchmaking issue when information is genuinely not available for you to make decisions on.

Solos are weaker than SWF ever will be. Full stop. Solos are the weakest role in the game, exacerbated by the poor matchmaking system. Killers have significantly easier games vs solo players. These are just objective facts.

That's not a matchmaking issue. That's not an issue with one player being slightly worse and the rest of the team not being able to make up for it, that's a genuine issue with the actual, physical game design of DBD. It has been since the inception and will continue to be so until the devs finally, finally change something.

Solo survivors shouldn't have to use perks, items, or add-ons for information that SWF players get for free. The fact that they don't get this information isn't a matchmaking issue. It isn't an issue with a player being worse. It isn't an issue where the killer was just amazing. It's an issue with the core game mechanics.

So, that's how. Your statement wasn't accurate in the slightest- in fact it missed the mark by a continent. Try again.

I don't know how experienced u are in the game but HELL NO,GOOD solo players DONT NEED SWF levels of info to make decisions and take actions accordingly.

GOOD players know exactly what to do at what moment.PERIOD.

GOOD players know how to run a killer around for a while and make him waste as much time as possible for others to do gens.PERIOD.
