  • Janky hit boxes. That's literally it. It's also possible the prompts for the animation got ######### up and it snapped you to the trap. Or a mix of the two. It's just DbD being janky. What else is new?

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You gamble, you take the consequences very simple.

    Always expect it isn't possible.

Btw as soon as you start cleansing you position yourself in the middle ie where the trap is.

So it's Definitely fair as you are going to sit on the trap itself.

If he had put it a bit further back you would have been fine tho

Bear trap hitboxes are wider than the model appears.

  • It isn't the Bear Trap, it's the Survivor model being slightly wider than we can see.

Totems can move your model a bit to put it in a more secure space so as not to maybe clip into stuff.

The moving of the interaction got your model just close enough for the BT to think you're on it, so it sucked you in.

    That's my theory.

Think of it like "locked in an animation" kind of thing.

"Btw as soon as you start cleansing you position yourself in the middle ie where the trap is."

What this fellow said.Like when you open a chest, you might click to open from the side but it auto positions you in the middle.

would make sense, still extremely unfair in my opinion tho

I can understand that, i too don't always enjoy something that's technically correct. (Assuming i was technically correct in my comment. 😋)
