No, you're not allowed to DC to "make a stand" or "send a message". The feature is there in case of an emergency or if you get stuck or whatever. If you want to make suggestions on how the game should be changed, there's a forum section for that.
People do indeed DC out of the blue, since "fun" is wholly subjective. Also note that you never see someone rage quitting while they're winning, only people who are losing DC.
If you DC again the penalty will be increased further. Just play normally (i.e.: without DCing) and you won't have to worry about the penalty.
There was that time Otz after basically winning the match, dc for the meme. Which did make for a funny ending to the video.
There was also the time Scott dc after getting to the exit gate as survivor for the meme. Threw down a firecracker and than dc to pull a magic trick, when he could of escape. In both of these cases, the match was petty much already over and the only person who got screwed over was well Scott and Otz, for they wanted to do something funny. Which did get laughs out of others, while harming no one.
However in most cases. Dcs just screw over the survivors team by turning it into a three vs one aka time to depip or give them a free 5k points if the killer dcs. Which recently saw a David try to give up on their first hook, they got saved by their team mate and than just flat out dc. That or oh no I when down, dc. Which dcs can also harm the killer, if a survivor dcs. Due to less points or if they dc before they get hooked, denying the killer a bbq stack. That and some people will dc after they died on hook or while on hook. That and in many cases after the first person who gives up on first hook or dcs happen, it normally leads to the rest of the survivors giving up, if it happens early on. If a killer tries to play nice and give the last one hatch, they might depip from it as well, no good deed goes unpunished. If there is one thing the current dc system is lacking, is some reason to give the remaining players a reason to stay in the game and not give up right away. For a few 100 blood points doesn't do much to keep people in the game.

Surge as a perk has the same weakness as low mobility killers. On a map like the game, it can work great due to the small size of it and how close gens are often put together. On a map like red forest, it suffers greatly due to how often gens are spread out far and wide. For surge another issue with it, is you can down a survivor just slightly out of range of a gen. Leading to it lacking consistency all the time. The cool down on it, stops it from being useful if you are snowballing. Since you don't get much of out of it, if you down two or three people with in a short time. It only works on basic attacks, making it only useful on a handful of killers. Which unless a survivor messes up their pathing, they can get a fair bit of distance away from a gen on a hit, unless the killer is running save the best for last, than maybe they can down them with in gen of a range, should a survivor just go, time to get out of dodge.
While surge when it works, does save you time from having to hook a survivor [unless you count hooking a survivor as something you were already going to do anyone, since to kill off a survivor you have to hook them or slug them out.] and from kicking a gen, it might even possibly stop a gen from being done in your face in rare cases. However it does lack consistency. Where if you look at something like pop. You down a survivor and hook them, bang. Do that and long as one gen or more is remaining, you get to use pop. Which pop doesn't relay as heavily on rng as surge, when it comes to gens being close together. Gens can be so far spread out that no such thing as a three gen exists and you can still make some use out of pop. While it would be way harder to do so with surge. While the idea of surge being able to hit more than one gen sounds nice, in reality is more often than not, one or zero gens. Rarely will you get two or three gens. That and oh hey a survivor is working on a gen, it got hit with surge. Still going have to kick it, if you want it to regress. If surge hit the three closest gens or three random gens, the regress you would get from it, would only be 24%, slightly less than pop.
You can win games with only surge as your single slow down perk but odds are it will be alot harder to do so. With how many things that get in your way of using the perk. Surge has to be one of the few killer perks that is not a hex perk, that relays on rng of the gen spread and everything going just right to make use out of it.

Careful, they don't like honesty in this forum. I feel your pain, and it really never seems to be rank dependent. Whether it's immediately after reset, lower ranks or up in red, these weak links turn up constantly as teammates and so rarely as opponents.
I notice lately on both survivor and killer, alot of survivors loving to give up early or dc. Like a david try to give up on hook, only they couldn't due to someone saving them, so they dc. That or a game I had as killer, where only one survivor wanted to play the game, since the rest of his team mates gave up on first hook. They got hook, gave up and repeat. I gave them the hatch. For their team really screwed them over. I'm not sure if the survivor I let go safely pip, lost a pip or depip, due to them being a console player. So I couldn't ask. People wanting to give up super early, seems to be happening alot more often lately from what I notice. Which for someone trying to pip, is not a very good time.

This is the same game where certain people will take issue with someone saying gg and treat it like you just insult them and their family. Where people will sand bag or try to sand bag you for no reason. That or heck will call you trash in post game, even if you escaped or killed them all. That or call you sweaty for trying to win the game as if doing your objective is a bad thing. That and everyone is random strangers here. So it's unlikely three people would have any issue with voting out a team mate that carry them through out the whole game, due to believing they did nothing.
That and how would this fix dc issue at all? Since it doesn't fix the issue with people randomly dcing and screwing over their team. It doesn't stop the dreaded three vs one happening. It just grants random people the ability to screw you over for no real reason and just give you a ban for 12 hours, even if you played a match out from start to finish and play to the best of your ability to support the team. That and what is to stop someone from dcing before all three other players can vote them out? For surely a 5 minute time out would be way easier to deal with than a 12 hour one. This sounds like it would force people to dc, to avoid strangers screwing them over due to voting and giving them a random time out for no reason. That or more skill players might get a lesser skill people on the team who might of just install the game only a few days ago and ruin their experience by giving them a 12 hour time out, when they have not learn how to properly play the game yet. That or if anyone has play among us, you can see how sometimes it easy to just get people to agree with you for no reason by shouting out red did it and everyone just goes along with it for no reason.
That and in every other game that lets you kick a player from a server. It doesn't ban them from the whole game for 12 hours. Team fortress 2, left for dead come to mind. That and from my understanding, correct me if i'm wrong. The dc penalty is in place, to stop people from leaving the match early for no good reason, in the case of killer stop a match from happening or in the case of survivor stop someone from screwing over their team mates. Not to punish them for playing a whole match from start to finish or randomly get kicked during the middle of a match that is still being played out. Like even if we go with the idea a majority of people or everyone is trust worthy and won't abuse this system. It seems like a bad idea, that can be abused or at the very least is pointless and fixes nothing related to why we have dcs in the first place. That and it would also lead to other issues. Like what if someone is on second hook when a vote happens? Since they will be forced to vote and well have to die, due to being unable to spam the space bar.
While one can without a doubt say the current dc system has it's own fair share of issues. Like the hacker issues, leading to it needing to be turned off. That or how the rewards for someone quitting the match, is barely anything for what is more than likely a depip match for the survivors. If anything rather than punishing someone, maybe there should be a reason given for the remaining survivors and killer to stay in a match and finish it up. For here is what normally happens when someone dcs. The three survivors remaining lose hope and just give up or two of them give up and the one who wants to play, doesn't get to play a proper match. Basically the remaining survivors reward for remaining in a match and trying to play it out, is more than like jack in terms of blood points and a depip. Where if the survivors [and killer] were given a safely pip, due to having to play basically a three vs one for the whole match or everyone given some more blood points, it would give a reason for everyone to want to keep the match going, rather than just giving up.

Soul guard, we're gonna live forever, unbreakable. There is so many perks to counter slugging. Soul guard being one of the newer ones. We're gonna live forever being buff to grant a 100% bonus healing speed to picking up slugs. If you are having issues with your whole team being slugged. You might want to invest in one of these anti slugging perks.

Projection/representation. People want characters that reflect themselves in some fashion and want to live vicariously through them. So while at the end of the day they're just a skin, what they represent can be just as important.
Like metal fans liking Jeff, or people that like cute things leaning towards Feng.
Though gay is also seen as a personality trait like hating mustard, so it could be handled very poorly. Give them something too flamboyant and consistently giving only them the flamboyant cosmetics could be seen as favortism or stereotyping.
Well Peter Parker aka spiderman, is someone who many people from all different backgrounds and walk of life relate to. Men, women, black and white. Ect ect. Who do people relate to a character so much, who is not their gender or even looks like them? Good character, who when through very relatable things like the lost of loved ones. Having trouble playing the rent. Things every day common people can relate to. Balancing his personal life, along side work and super hero life.
Which none of the reason people relate to him, is due to his skin color, gender or sexually. Which it's not skin deep things they relate to, it's more than that. It's about who the character is as a person, not what the character is. Which is why I bring all of this up. For what you bring up at the end of your post, is well something that happens alot in the past couple of years. People will just slap x sexually onto a character and call it finish. Thinking people will just relate to anything if you just have it be x. Which often leads to well gay Iceman, where marvel turn a legit straight character gay due to magic and created a character so poorly written, you would think the writer hated gay people, if he himself was not gay. For iceman was turn into the most flameboytant unlikable jerk you could picture.
Now japan has a whole genre of manga about boys love and girls love. Heck even stuff that is not purely focus on it, like a historical manga I can recall about samurai, will show this kind of stuff. Yet people are far more accepting of it in eastern media like japan than western media. Is due to one simple reason. The quality of the writing. They take the time to build a character who is say gay but they are so much more than just gay. They are a fully flesh out character, to the point their sexually is a very minor trait. What often western pieces of media get wrong that eastern media gets right is, the character is more than just their sexually. Alot of western pieces of media like gay iceman, Chavez under Gabby Rivera from marvel, is they make being gay the one and only trait these characters have. It's at best skin deep representation. When a real person, be they straight, gay or something else. Has a personally, they can like sweetards, enjoy drinking beer, playing video games. They are not just straight or gay. They are a human being, with so many more parts that make them into who they are, that even if two people are straight, gay or whatever, they don't act the same, for they are different people. They are not part of this hive mind collective, which is how some writers like to treat gay people. No they are people. Yet sadly some writers will just see this as a cheap way to cash in, by throwing in a gay character and giving no effort to making this character a good character, just so they can say they have it. Which in some cases it like who can really blame these writers for doing so. Since you hear demands for representation, not demands for good writing. That and well in the case of representation, that is that little issue of well. People are different, to truly represent everyone, you would need different characters with different ways of thinking and acting. Not just well they are x and nothing more. For the thing people relate to most, is who a character is, not what they are. Since you have women like that Star wars Girl on youtube, who relate to Luke Skywalker and look up to them as a hero, due to who the character was as a person.

I would agree with this if there was a general consensus on what tunnelling was.
However there's a large portion of the community will consider any little slight against them as tunneling.
You recently got unhooked and immediately went on the closest gen that's literally right in front of you and start working only to be insert shocked Pikachu face here when the killer starts chasing you again.
Survivors who have recently been unhooked but seemed incredibly super determined to take a borrowed time hit for their rescuer and then get surprised when the killer is automatically on them.
There's a lot more but these are the two examples of the top of my head I don't feel like giving anti tunneling benefits to people like this is a smart idea. Simply because they're either simply making a stupid play that shouldn't be rewarded or actively feeding a tunnel.
If you want to add an anti tunneling mechanic you're going to have to figure out a way to clearly define what is tunnelling and and make it so it is not abusable which sadly is never going to happen
You bring up what is possibly the greatest point related to this topic. What is tunneling. For if people can't agree on what tunneling is, how can you put in something for survivors to fight against tunneling, if no one can agree on what it means in the first place. Heck in this very thread, we already have people debating over if ds is an anti tunneling perk or not. Which only strengthens your point.
Since stuff like can the other three survivors punish the tunneling by sticking to gens and all that stuff, is tunneling really bad, should a survivor get rewarded for being tunnel, how effective is it as a tactic vs low skill and high skill players, all seems pointless without everyone coming to a common agreement on what tunneling means. With the people in the threat going killers bad, not really helping at all. Since all this game does is go kill the survivors. Not really much knowledge on how to do that. I could throw a random guide off youtube, that would be way more helpful and indepth than what the game teaches you. Since if we were to come up with a common meeting everyone agree on as to what tunneling means. It could just be players who don't know any better and lack experience in playing killer that are doing this, rather than being pure evil who are out to ruin the lives and days of others as some on the forums would make anyone who plays killer out to be or maybe the tactic is very effective and needs to be look over. Alot of interesting topics that could be talk about but sadly can't, due to lacking a clear common meaning as to what tunneling is.

All corrupt really does is put survivors and killers on the same level at the start of the game. Killer has to go around and find their objective. Survivors who often spawn on top of gens, now have to do the same thing as the killer. Go around the map and find their objective, rather than doing it right away. That and corrupt has no value if the survivors can successfully hide from the killer for 2 minutes, leading to zero hooks for the killer. Which after 2 minutes, the only perk that has any value anymore is pop. Which corrupt also just delays the survivors doing their objective, by having to walk over to a different part of the map, it doesn't really slow down gens at all by it's self. Pop you have to find a survivor, down them, hook them and finally walk around to find a gen that is worth kicking and not one that barely has any progress to get the most out of it. Pop, bbq and thrilling of some of the best design perks in the game. For you have to do your objective successfully, in other to get a benefit out of it.
Now i'm sure someone will go lol this combo is toxic without adding any meaning to what makes it toxic or why. Which Toxic is really just a overused word, that really doesn't add much value to this topic.
Now we also need to take into account the different killers. Most are 115% and lack mobility, while some rather large maps exist. Not to forget there are certain killers that need time to set up, trapper, hag to name two. So on larger maps, these killers who lack mobility suffer more on larger maps than killers with mobility. Which is why mobility killers are normally the strongest in the game, due to being able to go quickly from point a to point b quickly, to drive survivors off of gens and/or down them quickly. So in the case of bad rng, set up killers or these who lack mobility, are going to need a bit of extra help on these larger maps. Not just at the start but also later on, when they need to maintain control over very important gens if they want to win. Since kicking a gen does jack on it's own and more experience survivors tend to be more bolder, will work on gens injured, who will wait until the killer leaves and than start working on the gen again that was just kicked. While with pop, you can always ensure you will remove some progress on a gen and help to maintain it. That and survivors tapping a gen can work in your favor, if someone goes down quickly again, to a gen that had 75% progress but now has only 50% due to being popped, than was tap or work on again for a few seconds. With it now going down to around 25% progress, thanks to moves by survivors that played in your favor. Which can allow this killer who lacks mobility, to have a chance at apply pressure where it's needed most, in an area they can control. For pop is a very consistence slow down that works if the killer has skill and can end chases quickly. For pop is worthless if you get loop for five chases.
Which surge can hit up to three gens but that is only in the most ideal case, that and the regress on the gen is spread out, so in the most idea case it would be 24%, slightly less than pop. Yet it only works on basic attacks, making it use limited due to some killers like Oni having a powerful m2 ability they want to make use of, making pop the more consistence slow down perk for them. While surge also has a limited range, it's rather possible a survivor might lead you away from a gen or they go down slightly out of range of a gen, making surge the less consistence slow down. On larger maps surge limited range makes it even worst as a slow down perk, sure on small maps like the game it might work super well but you can't always be sure rng will be in your favor. For even if you do well enough, you might not get surge's effect. While pop, you hook someone, bbq you hook someone, thrilling you pick up the down person and you will always be rewarded for your efforts [in the case of pop and bbq, long as you don't get blinded, pallet slam, ect ect]. Which is why pop is a favorite slow down on many killers. It's due to consistency and can work well on most killers, that and it also the feel good feeling of being rewarded for your efforts. That and a three gen is not as powerful, without some sort of slow down, to help maintain it. Which is where pop becomes the ideal perk for.
That and why run this combo? Well pop is great for three gens and on certain maps, that is how you win. Three gen due to the design of it. Call three gens boring or whatever but this fault is due to the map design. With the map often being large as well to get from one side to the other. If you have corrupt up, you could always go and protect the side that is the better three gen, rather than going well time to protect the worst gen for by the time I got over to the other side, they already pop a gen. While pop helps with the mid to late game, to help you win. That and on some maps like haddonfield will sometimes have gens so spread out, there is no such thing as a three gen to killers who lack mobility and killers with out mobility will need all the help they can get due to poor rng. For that another thing, rng. You have no idea what the rng will be like. You could get a map with lots of things to hide behind or duck behind, ideal for ghostface but sounds like a nightmare for huntress. While you could get on a map with little to no cover or anythings to duck or hide behind, sounds like a dream come true for huntress but a nightmare for ghostface. Which all of this is before you factor in not knowing who you are going to go up against. Sure you might go up against newbies or you might go up against harden survivors. You can't really say for sure, while pop and corrupt tends to be overall a rather consistence combo, no matter who you are facing and can help combat bad rng a bit. If you are going against tough survivors, you brought a good perk combo that can help you out. If you are facing newbies, well if the game is going in your favor massively can always ease up on them a bit or simply give the last person hatch.
Now lets look at certain killers like Myers. Myers early game might as well not exist. He needs to go towards survivors and stalk them to get out of tier one. Which is why corrupt is helpful on him, for it gives Myers the time to get the ball rolling. That and good survivors can deny Myers stalk for as long as possible [same can be said for Oni to be fair]. Myers might have to waste alot of time just to get the ball rolling for him, to make up for his weak early game. That and Myers once he does get his power, is still a killer you can loop like any other, which you can also lessen the effect of his tier 3 ability by spreading out against him. That and well it just makes sense to take corrupt on Myers to make up for his weak early game and combing it with pop also makes good sense on Myers, for if he can one hit down a survivor, he can also get a easy pop out of it. Maybe two or more downs in ideal cases. IN less ideal cases, only a single down, which Myers tier 3s are limited, so if you can always make sure to get a little extra value out of them by using say pop, well sounds like a good idea. That and Myers suffers greatly on larger maps, for he starts out at 105% movement speed, has to waste time getting out of tier 1 by finding and stalking a survivor. So he might need all the help he can get, in order to make sure he stands a chance and doesn't get screwed over royally by bad rng.
Now lets look at Freddy. Corrupt gives him time for his teleport to be ready and survivors to enter dream state, where he can finally start using his snares against survivors. It simply lets Freddy deny the survivors just long enough for things to slowly turn towards his favor as survivor start falling asleep and depending on Freddy's add ons, survivors being asleep might lead to extra slow down. Which Pop is more powerful on Freddy than other killers like say Myers for a simple reason. Freddy has mobility. Combo that with something like thrilling to know which gen is being worked on and Freddy can have a very good idea of where he needs to go and which gen needs to pop. For against a killer that lacks mobility, you might be able to get a gen done before they could make it to your side of the map. While Freddy can teleport straight towards the gen and pop it right away, unless the survivors are super close to getting it done, Freddy can easily deny survivors the chance of finishing a gen thanks to mobility. All of these perks, simply work wonderful on Freddy, making a strong killer even stronger.
Do you always needs corrupt and pop to win? No you can easily make due with one or the other, yes it's possible to win games without any slow downs. Yet the reason it's a popular combo, is due to it working very well together and can work reasonable well on most if not all maps in the game, along with it being a good combo on many killers. Basically it's the same reason you use a water type pokemon against the rock type gym, it just makes logical sense to do that, since it works in your favor.

Someone say ghostface?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH4DhskSbz4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWF6A4SvoEs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkDyYBg5oYwAll of these videos are very helpful, to teach you how to play ghostface. Which there is two styles of ghostface, when it comes to using his power. Now people like Dreede, will use it for a more sneak in close and get a easy m1 style of play. While others like Ceptzzz will be the more stalking type of ghostface and will put his stalk to good use, to get that one hit down. Which even the stalking ghostface will not always go for the stalk but sometimes will just go for that m1. Which is a important thing to learn, when to stalk and when to go for the m1. That and also who to stalk. For one tactic, is to stalk some survivors but leave others alone, in order to be able to freely m1 them. Since any stalk you build up on a survivor goes away upon a m1 attack. That and as others have brought up, the 99% stalk. Which is basically, get as close as possibly to fully stalking a survivor without exposing them. Than later, once you have your power back and you notice the survivor in a bad spot or out of position, enter your power, expose and down them.
Which some of ghostfaces best add ons, will be his recovery add ons. It doesn't matter your playstyle, if you are a stalking ghostface or just use his power to sneak up on survivors and get that easy m1. It will benefit you, since this family of add ons, allows you to get your power back sooner. Allowing you to use it even more. Be it for stalking or sneaking around.
Which some of the guides I link above do talk about perks for ghostface. Yet if you are new to the game. Not sure what perks you have unlocked. You can't go wrong with thrilling tremors, which is ghostface's own perk. Some favor it over bbq, in terms of information. Sloppy, can also be useful and is a easy perk to get, for everything ghostface does is a m1 attack in the end. Expose someone and down them? M1. Sneak up on someone and hit them? M1 again. Sloppy you only need to get the perk tier 1, to get it's main effect, healing slow down. Which also whispers can be useful to help you know when to stalk. Which only use whispers if you get it tier 3, other wise it basically just tells you survivors exist on map.
Now if you are new to killer in general. Go for leatherface and get bbq, use it to farm for the blood points you need to unlock good teachables, like corrupt, pop, fright, save the best for last and others. Which perks that are useful on ghostface, can be corrupt, due to having to deal with only 4 gens at the start of the game, that and can possibly force them towards you. Which can allow you to get some nice stalks off or catch them off guard while sneaking around. Pop to deal with gens. Save the best for last can be useful, since ghostface is still a killer that has to m1 folk [also save the best for last can be useful on many other killers as well like trapper] . Nurse's calling can be great on ghostface, due to survivors not being able to hear your terror radius. Allowing you to sneak up on them and catch them unaware while they are healing. There is alot to learn about ghostface but hopefully, any of the guides I link above or what I have posted here, helps you to become a better ghostface.

You got bhvr'ed, normally you wouldn't have grabbed them......this guy is hacking, there is no way you got a grab on this game.
Jokes aside, I hate DS for this reason but usually I try not to complain about it since I know people will get mad if I say that DS is easy mode and a get out of jail card.
Yeah for alot of ds threads just turn into lots of shouting and not alot of well reasonable debate. With normally someone just coming in and just saying all killers are bad due to x, anyone who plays killer is bad due to x, rather than make any point and are just more interested in demonizing killers rather than talking about the perk.
Since there was one thread I saw, where someone said the perk is not for anti tunneling by pointing to the devs but than never stated what the point of the perk was. For well it's hard to talk about a perk, when the question is a perk working the way it should or effective at doing the thing it's meant for can't be answered. Since well pop, easy and simple to know what it's for. To keep gens from being finished. Bbq, for tracking and bonus blood points. Ds, you get some who say it's meant to be anti tunneling and than others going it's not an anti tunneling perk and don't explain what the perk is meant for, what reason was it design. Since if ds is meant for anti tunneling, it can fail to do it's job, to protect from tunneling. For oh hey, survivor can get unhook, get a speed boost from a bt hit or say sprint burst, killer still chases them. Due to good rng or just luck, reaches a strong loop, able to loop the killer for 60 seconds or longer, goes down and boom, back on the hook they go. Still got tunnel and their perk didn't help one bit. So in order to punish the killer for tunneling, are they meant to let themselves go down before the ds timer is up and hope the killer picks them up to trigger ds? Since if you are a survivor that is being tunnel, I don't think you want to easily go down but try your hardest to avoid that. Yet with the way ds currently works, you can't do the logical thing of trying to loop the killer for long as possible before going down to give your team time to do the gens, since then you would not be able to punish them for tunneling by using ds. Which someone could counter with, if you can waste that much of the killers time, that is punishment enough for tunneling you, which could be seen as rather decent or say good reasoning. Yet sadly, that is again the issue with ds threads. Rather than making counter points. It's normally just turns into killer bad, killer stupid or whatever is popular to shout out loudly, rather than any real debate. Making it simply not worth it to bring up the topic, for more often than not, it doesn't really lead to anything of value.

Look, if those arsehole teammates let me go to second stage because they were too busy being SWF and not giving a damn, I'm not struggling. They can all die for all I care, because they didn't care about me.
When I get left to second hook, in my case. It not due to swf, it due to a large map. Claud self caring in the corner. Nae doing nothing but crouching around the map. Making me question if I got rank 20 players again. Which is often the case. For even with mmr turn off, match making can still be screwy at times.

I think it should be more conditional.
If stealth killers can’t get close to survivors, they really don’t have anything else in their kit to combat that.
That a good question to bring up. What about stealth killers, who are meant to deny information? Should it work on them, when their kit is design to sneak up and surprise survivors by catching them unaware or is it fine as is vs stealth killers. Should it not work vs stealth killers using their power or remain as it is and works equally vs all killers? For without spine chill, a stealth killer would force a survivor to look around and relay more on their eyes and always have to be on guard, to avoid someone sneaking up on them and gen grabbing them. Yet with spine chill, a survivor can be more relax and doesn't have to be on guard, even if it's a stealth killer. Yet it can be counter by moonwalking, which one might deem as a counter to it but if one is slightly off, it will still trigger spine chill and could make all the effort worthless. Than it is also possible, spine chill might lead to a survivor getting off a gen and might just save a gen, due to the survivor going nope i'm outta here, due to thinking you are closer than you really are. Really is a interesting question. For there is alot one could bring up in terms of that.

Unless I have stbfl in which case if I'm getting body blocked I'll get the free stack.
I have no "real" problems against BT, I use it when I play survivor (console scarred me because there were too many real campers).
I may say it out loud like "freaking BT" but I will not complain at the end game chat.
This is something I really don't get from my fellow killer mains, if you manage to injured the unhooker, why not go for him instead of actually tunneling, and before someone says "for efficiency" I understand but later on you will realize that most likely they have DS.
To the actual thing that I quoted you, I always assume everyone has BT so I always try to go for the unhooker.
Yeah bt in the case of save the best for last, if the person is not the obsession, can lead to benefiting the killer. If it a normal killer and not someone like wraith, a sleeping survivor vs Freddy, ghostface, who has their power ready to deny it. That and even if the killer doesn't have save the best for last. The hit the survivor took, still forces them to mend. Wasting time mending at the very least if nothing else. While in the case of an Oni, that triggers a safe unhook, which allows them to start creating blood orbs again, which greatly benefits the Oni.
Which yeah, going with the idea survivors are decent [for there are some rather bad survivors out there, I seen a few go down due to not mending]. A normal basement save would go like this. Saver goes down in the basement, unhooks the person. Saver goes first, to take the hit in case the killer comes back or is nearby. Which going with the case the killer is fast or close enough to get back in time. They will most likely see the saver coming out of the basement first and hit them first. Than at that point, the two survivors will stick together or spread out, going to two different parts of the map. Well if they spread out, one could be going to a strong loop and the other heading to a dead zone. The easier target would be going after the one running into a dead zone. {gen placement might play a role in effecting choice as well but going to keep it simple as possible for now.] Which would lead to a hook trade or a slug, depending on who ran into the dead zone. [Unless it's five or four gens, than most killer I see rarely give a care about ds with that many gens left, rather see it as getting it out of the way, to not worry about it later. For ds is a bigger threat, the later it is used in a game, due to possibly denying the pressure or kill ,the killer badly needs to turn things around. ] Now if they stick together, yeah the killer most likely has freedom of choice as to which target he goes off. Which in that case, the best choice would be the unhooker. For unless you are say an Oni that snowball like crazy and just hook half the survivor team recently. Odds are the unhooker would be the safer choice and most logical choice to go after. For you most likely got a hit on them and are injured, have no ds and make them the safe choice to down and hook. That and in the case of certain killers, like ghostface. Well ghostface might want to 99% stalk the unhooked survivor and let them go, so they will waste time healing up and so when ghostface comes across them later, can make all that time spend healing, a waste of time. So there are many logical reasons to go after the saver. Sure ideally a killer would want a hook and a slug, for more pressure, yet going with the idea again of decent survivors. It would be more realistic, you will only get one or the other, not both.

It is not impossible to see an OoO, it is just really hard now,I can't say if it is harder to see an OoO in midwich because I haven't been on that map in a very long time, running out of azarov keys and mcmillan offerings.
Yeah, the new auras have made everything a bit harder to see. From what i notice of object squads, they normally put up a midwich offering, to ensure they get send to the map. For the map is rather rare, if one does relay on pure rng to get it.

@OldHunterLight said:
Some of the things you learn with time, not on 4 months.
We have killers with a lot of bugs, some maps are the extremely annoying to certain killers because of said bugs like nurse on midwich.
The devs forgot a common saying, if it ain't bad don't fix it.
The auras currently are extremely bad for killers but are okish for survivors, currently object of obsession is probably used more because killers in certain maps can't see the survivor but they can see you, the perk is really strong and annoying but people that used it knew that it had a counter which was tunneling out of the match, now with the new auras, OoO has the upper had by a lot.
The negativity towards the devs are because they mostly think for one side instead of both.
Have not seen it myself yet and i don't run object. Yet have heard a few tales of how killers can barely notice someone using object and didn't even notice they were using the perk until end game. While Survivors can easily notice the killer aura. Will have to look more into this but if this is the case, the one possible downside, to this perk has been lessen. Even if not the case, we still have midwitch and object. Which nothing has been done about that. So a group can all run object, send a killer to mid witch and depending on the killer, might be little to nothing they can do, due to lacking any sort of mobility and due to the map design, can't catch up with the survivors before they move somewhere else.

if any videogame player just “let the devs do their thing” for ANY game, the game would never get better since there wouldn’t be any feedback
if the entire community is complaining about how terrible the the new auras look, then we should continue complaining until its fixed since it makes the game unenjoyable.
also, its kind of sad to see the amount of bugs that come into this game during any patch. Gets kind of repetitive having to endure game breaking bugs after any major patch simply because of the spaghetti code this game was made on.
Yeah like how long did it take them to fix a major bug for Oni? Like over a month, oni players had to risk suffering from a bug that render his power unusable. Which the bug came around during the whole crown event, which somehow giving Oni a crown bugged him up. Not to forget the let x do whatever they want logic, tends to be a bad idea, unless said person has proven in the past they can handle having total freedom. Disney brought up star wars, let Kk do whatever she wants with Star wars, with them bashing the fans, treating them like dirt, telling the fanbase repeatly how they are all awful bad people and just keep on attacking the fanbase over and over again for no reason. Which has lead star war going from a immortal ip that will never die, to people just going whatever and moving onto something else. For disney by letting Kk do whatever she and her lackeys wanted, has damage the star wars brand so greatly, they now have to destroy star wars toys, for they simply can't sell them. Which my point with disney star wars is simple, if you give total freedom to someone and put them above and beyond any sort of criticism or feedback, the results are often poor. Which is why being able to give feed back and good solid legit cricism is healthy. For an idea might sound good on paper or in your head but in reality might turn out to be a rather poor idea and someone might not notice this, until someone else points it out to them.

1.Iron maiden OP is next I guess
2. You can hide behind almost every gen from almost every angle.
3. I'm not sure Myers works like that unless he has BK myers.
4. Run away if he is doing that, punish him
Yeah the only time i can think of that anyone runs both iron maiden and bbq. Is huntress players or one doctor player. That and by the time a killer normally gets to the place where someone jump out of a locker, they are a long gone or b by the time they get there, the expose effect has wore off, for most killers lack any sort of mobility or the survivor has gotten into a strong position, for they are aware of the effect. Going with the idea they are healthy. Like a survivor would have to play stupid or very unlucky, to get down due to iron maiden.
Yeah Myers has no aura reading and i'm rather sure burger king Myers add ons cancel each other out, leading to there being no aura reading. Which scratched, vanity mirror do grant aura reading for Myers but come at the cost of slower movement speed. Making him easier to loop than a clown. While denying him the ability to one hit down survivors. Which also only work well on certain maps. Leading to there needing to be good rng or a map offering for it to work.
Which yeah, if a killer is staying around the hook until someone reaches stage 2. Something has gone wrong. The survivors are not doing gens and rewarding this action or made it a very good idea for the killer to do, due to everyone swarming the hook at once. Which funny enough, some say camping and tunneling is everywhere. Yet from the majority of survivor games i play, i rarely see it. What i do notice, is survivors acting stupid, way more than i see the killer doing something that some would label scummy. Many people hate camping and tunneling, even with it not being against the rules. Yet here we are, with someone demanding a nerf to bbq. A perk that promotes and rewards a killer for not tunneling and camping. If bbq gets nerf, the next perk on the chopping block would be thrilling tremors from ghostface. Due to it granting information as to which gens are being worked on and if we go with the op reasoning, allows the killer to secretly know where the survivors are and which gens they are on, if they don't let go of the m1. Which "ruins immersion".
Which the immersion part, has to be the most questionable bit about the logic behind please nerf bbq by making it even easier to counter than it already is. When in truth, the op idea behind it would just make it worst for survivors, since it will stop them from doing their current action, which could be getting rid of something like devour hope. Which if we look at the term immersion. It's normally used to talk about survivors who hide all bloody game, denying the killer the one interaction he/she has with survivors, the thrill of the chase, the thrill of the hunt. It only takes 400 seconds or around 6 minutes to finish all gens, if done solo. A killer simply does not the benefit of time on their side. They would ideally, if they want to win, want to find a survivor and get them down asap and if luck should benefit them or the survivors mess up, get a few others injured as well, to keep them busy healing and off gens for a bit. For time is on the survivor's side, which is why a killer simply cannot afford to play long games of hide and seek with the survivors. Leading to any perks buying the killer more time or can help to end chases quickly, often being meta, like pop or save the best for last. For the more the killer can slow down the game just a little bit, the more time they have to kill off a survivor and start to snowball from there. Heck even if a killer doesn't care about winning and just wants to chase people around, well if the survivors are super good at immersion, the killer is not getting to do the one thing they enjoy, the thrill of the chase and hunt. That and a killer secretly knowing where the survivors are. Like has the op read the lore behind ghostface for this game? It's all about studying their victims and knowing them like the back of their hand, as they craft the perfect murder, while not leaving behind a trace. For if we are bringing up the immersion factor, well not every killer has the same lore or backstory. For some, bbq would be very much fitting for someone like ghostface, in terms of studying and slowly learning everything they can about their next victim, without them knowing a thing until it's to late, is rather fitting. So the immersion card sounds like poor reasoning to use, without taking into account the other side aka the killers. That and with the way auras are, you can barely see jack with bbq right now, i think most would swap out it for something else, due to how bad the auras are.

I guess if that's all you want, more power to you. This just seems to be a really boring way to spend your time playing this game and you don't even get a ton of points for the effort.
Yeah if you rush the gens and do just that. Odds are one of two things will happen. You will depip or get a safely pip. Due to lack of being chased by the killer. Along with only a handful of points.

This is just an boring combo. 'Get in a locker'. Yeah, then you gotta stay there for a full game. Matchmaking is too broken and too many (new) players dont know how it works. They should change this freakin perk, like every killer runs it and on billy it is just boring.
Btw. Fix the DC penalty. Now you can leave a game without a penalty so like every two games you have a dc survivor.
You only listed bbq, which is not a combo, unless you forgot to add in pop there. Than yes that would be a combo. Which bbq only shows where you are for a few seconds, which is far from the whole game. That and you have not listed once how bbq is boring or how it boring when slapped onto Billy. That and even if it indeed boring for you, boring is subjective. While it far easier to know if something is balance or not, for you can look at things objectively, like what does this perk do, what are the strengths and weakness of it? For something can be "boring" but can be perfectly balance and there would be no logical reason to change it.

If I get queued into a dedicated server with 170 ping, I shouldn't be punished for leaving it, imo.
That is another good point, i don't think people would want to play with a team mate suffering from lag or a killer that has lag issues. That and since a single person leaving effects nothing and they already have to wait again, before they get into another match, sounds like that is punishment enough for the person who left the lobby. Since if the killer leaves or survivor leaves, normally a new one replaces them with in a few seconds. Sometimes a bit longer from my experience on the pc, not sure about consoles. The person who leaves has to wait again, if they are dodging the lobby for some reason and are not just simply backing out, for they played the game for like six hours and when yeah i need to get some sleep. Better to leave now than during the match no? That and it's not like the old days, where everyone is send to the back of the line should the killer leave a lobby and now have to wait for find a new lobby. No the lobby still remains up and a new killer is found for the four survivors or survivors for the killer. It just seems like there is no longer any issue here that needs to be solved and fixed.

The definition of Tunneli g is too broad. You are a Killer, your job is to take out Survivors. How is chasing down a wounded victim down after being unhooked not the best option for a Killer to do and it's wrong? Especially when their friends unhook them in front of a Killer. Instincts of a wolf is to take out the weaker prey. Why is it bad etiquette? Is a killer suppose to go "oh I'm sorry. I already tried to kill you once before and JUST hooked you because my Boss (the Entity) told me to. Well, let me let you go and go grab someone else if I can. I opologize." No. Everybody sees their own gameplay as if there's only their gameplay and want to claim they being singled out. If a killer hooks you. Your friends unhook you. Right after. Blame your friend not the killer. Because the killer NEEDS to kill everybody... and you were made the weaker prey to need to go after.
You know you bring up a good point. Like i know what i think when i hear the word tunneling. Going after one person when it makes no sense at all, to the point it backfires on you. Yet to someone else, they might have rather different meaning of the word tunneling. So people might end up talking over one another, due to having no idea if we share the same meaning of the word tunneling or not.
For i play on the pc and go without ds for most of my games, the amount of camping and tunneling i seen, has been very low, next to the people who say it's everywhere. Maybe i just have a different meaning of the word camping and tunneling from others. For i don't see it as often as some claim they do in purple and red ranks.

They're lying just so they don't have to actually do work to fix the issue which is pretty much the status quo with the devs at this point.

That would make it go back to being bad. That is a bad idea.
Yeah wasn't pop in it's original form only good for speedy killers, who could get around the map quickly like Billy or say current Freddy? While being poor for your standard 115% movement speed killer that lacks any ability to get around the map quickly? Changing it back just seems like it would harm the basic standard movement speed killer the most and limit their choices when it comes to perks they can use and builds they can run. Like ghostface is a 115% movement speed killer when not crouching and simply can not teleport around the map or get from a to point b very quickly like BIlly or Freddy can.
@Dr_Loomis said:
It's fine how it is.
It's not a lazy comfort perk as the killer has to hook survivors in order for it to activate.
It's also an anti-face camp perk which encourages the killer to damage gens after hooking instead of straight camping.
It should not be touched.
You bring up good points. It rewards a killer for doing their objective, of hooking survivors, to help with their other objective of stopping the gens from being done. In order to make use of pop, you have to be good at chases and still have gens left to kick. The perk is well design [maybe one of the best design perks in the game] , in that it rewards you by doing one of your objectives and makes your other objective easier. That and promotes a anti face camp style way of playing, if you want to make use of the perk.
That and repressed alliance now exists, which can block off a gen and keep it from being popped.
-
Well most would say pop and the like are slow down perks but what about anti healing perks? Since i seem some say they are also slow down perks, since they do slow down the healing of the survivors, which of course relays on them healing up. Since there is always the chance they ignore healing in favor of just rushing out gens. For if we count anti heal perks as slow down perks, that is a larger list than the standard pop, ruin and surge.

So if it does turn out to be something big, like an add on rework for ghostface or a new survivor added to his dlc, that would be amazing.

None of these numbers mean a damn thing because matchmaking doesn't take into account skill, and resets frequently. So no. I can't count the amount of times I've seen matches where theres multiple red rank survivors going against a rank 20 killer, or multiple purple rank survivors going against a rank 15 killer, or a rank 1 killer going against a bunch of rank 8's.
None of these stats mean anything....period.
Heck i had this happen the other day. Got pair up with a rank 10 spirit, who was clearly new to the game and i was able to loop for days. Lots of people got injured but fell of them when down. Who had haunted grounds and noed, i believe they got 3 to 4 hooks that whole game from what i recalled. Only one of these hooks was from noed, which got destroy shortly after it pop up. Map was ormond, which might of played a role in it but the pallet spawns were not the most awful spawn for rng there. So yeah, a group of experienced survivors was put up against a newbie killer, on a map that favors them and won easily with a 4 man escape.
That and as others have shown on these forums, a experience killer can be pair up with rank 20s who only just install the game. Match making is so broken right now, you have no idea if the survivors or killers are on the same level of experience. That and since then, we have had map reworks, toolboxes changes and more killers added. So this data would be useless not only due to how outdated it is, due to it coming from a different era of the game when things work differently but also due to it lacking so many other factors that are important to make any sense out of this data. Like the skill level of both players being one of them, for clown could see like the best killer ever, if the clown player when against nothing but rank 20s all the time. That and the op makes the claim a majority of killers are like x. Yet show nothing to back it up. Which makes it seem like they just want to say majority of killers are bad people. Due to showing only useless data and not showing any proof a majority of killers think they will get a 4k a majority of the time. That and they never say what a fair way of playing is. Since everyone has their different idea of what counts as fair.

looping is the basis to determine one's skill in this game, as its the only thing to do.
if you dont like looping as a killer and would rather just instantly win or expect survivors to just hold W, you should probably be in brown ranks
Only thing to do? Maybe in context of keeping yourself alive vs the killer in a chase. In general, there is alot more to do than just that. You should be taking note of the position you are currently in and the resources you have to use, knowing which gens to focus on, to avoid a three gen. That and if you have no idea who the killer is, you should be looking around to keep an eye out, just in case it's wraith, ghostface or someone else sneaking up on you. For you will only be making the ghostface laughing like a evil villain, while they are busy stalking you and you don't take the time to look around for you think you are safe, just due to not hearing a terror radius.

@Dead_by_Gadfly said:
Yeah but this is one of the times i think hes just wrong. His argument is essdntially "survivors want to be able to use the skills theyve learned" and by ghat he means looping.
Want to take a wild guess at what the most boring thing in the game is for killers? Running around in circles for 5 mi utes.
What behaviour is doing is creating killers that have different counterplays to their powers, some killers you can loop to ######### like wraith, some killers you have to counter a little more uniquely like Spirit. This keeps the game fresh and different. If every single killer was loopable the way wraith is this game would have died 2 years ago.
Scott's wrong on this, the people that find a killer boring its because they either dont understand the counter to thst killer and are getting waxed all the time, or they understand it really well and dont find it challanging. Either way, so tf what. Its better than every single killer having the same boring ass nascar counter
Since the whole idea is boring, which is a rather subjective thing in the first place. Someone in this thread finds ghostface boring to go against but i find him fun to go against. Making the idea of "boring" sound like a poor reasoning to use. Now lacking counter play or something like that, sounds way more reasonable. Since at least there it's base on something that can factual be proven or shown to be false.
Which also the idea of oh hey, you have to change your playstyle depending on the killer your facing. Does sound like it adds variety to the game and keeps it from being boring, due to having to mix it up and not have to simply do the same thing each and every time, helping to keep the game play loop from being the same thing each and every time. Which again makes the idea of boring, sounds like a very weak position to stand on. Which as i said before, basing it on counter play or lack there of, is far more reasonable and stronger point to stand on, since you can at least prove that. While for boring, one person can find ghostface boring to play against and another person could have the time of their life playing against ghostface.

Saw a post the other day on a DBD facebook page in which someone was showing the endgame screen on a match with like 4 event cakes. The person scored a 4k using a half-assed Legion build with afew lvl 1 and 2 perks in there. The comments section was filled with insults on how the guy doesnt have to play like such an ######### when people are using cakes and such. I can understand if you wanna get annoyed at people playing Bubba to facecamp every hook when cakes are played or if a Wraith goes invis all game to troll and cause people to not get any points from the match... But this was just a case of someone playing well. Apparently according to the comments section, they shouldve let them fix gens for awhile and all that.
Yeah a face camping bubba or Wraith that is just afk all game is understandable, since you didn't really play the game but rather a hold m1 gen or for the person on the hook vs the bubba, a mash space bar and give your team as much time as possible and possibly derank, due to not being able to get any hook saves, chases or anything else.
Which also reminds me of how some find farming boring and will yell at killers for farming when they just wanna play the game normally. That and well i would say most people who play the game, are there to play it normally. Even if there were four or five cakes. So if everyone plays the game normally, even if there are four or five cakes, if it doesn't end in like five minutes, everyone should get enough blood points to finish one level 50 blood web and get another cake or two. With possibly a few blood points left over for part of a second blood web. So it's no matter what the killer does. If they play the game normally, they get yell at. If they farm, they will get yet at. So might as well play the game normally and ensure your event cake goes to good use. That and if anyone take issue with that, well they sound like they don't wanna play the game.
Yet yeah, killers get blame for alot of things under the sun or all of them get thrown into one group. For you will see people call killers the scum of the earth, due to facing the one face camping bubba and than think all killers act that way. For rather than thinking oh yeah that is one person, na everyone who has ever played killer must act like that. For if a killer has two people in the basement, that is a strong position for a killer to be in, they would have to be a very nice guy to give up two hooks in the basement, for one person. For alot of things people blame killers for, are just doing the thing that makes the most logical sense for the killer to win. That and if someone uses a haddonfield offering or the legion map offering while i'm playing as a survivor, i figure the killer is not going to show us any mercy, due to how "fun" these maps are for killers. Since i would say hawkins is not as bad for survivor as everyone makes it out to be or the game for that matter with all of these pallets around. Just need some map knowledge and how to run the loops. Along with a team that knows how to do gens.

I hear ya. The thing about over in Overwatch is that every friend I ever made in that game was on my team. I have yet to make a friend from the opposing team since doing so requires having Match Chat turned on, and that channel is a cesspool on par with DbD endgame chat.
I had enough BS experiences with endgame chat as a killer, especially a low-rank killer going against red ranks that run roughshod over you, know they did, and still insult and crap at the end, that I just said to hell with it in DbD.
Unfortunately, I stopped playing survivor after three days in a row this past week of never getting unhooked off my first hook. Not once in a single game. And I both did gens and unhooked others, so it isn't like I was some useless, edge-of-the-map-hugging, urban evasion Survivor. It was about as much fun as playing a one-fight-and-dead battle royale.
I have experience dying on first hook as well this week as survivor. Solo survivor just makes me wanna play killer. Since as killer, at least i can get more blood points if nothing else. Since solo survivor is very much a coin flip, you will get decent team mates or the most boosted animals you have ever seen in your life, that will feed the killer their power, be scared of touching gens, ect ect ect. If they don't dc after getting down for the first time or upon their first hook, just to screw over the rest of their team for no real reason.

Yeah, usually d/cs arent even the killers fault
Yeah i been running kindred alot lately. Which helps to give some in slight as to what the killer is doing around the hook. A majority of the time, what happens is the killer hooks the person, [if they don't dc after getting down] than they just let themselves die on their first hook. The killer didn't bring a mori and the majority of the time there is no mori. They were not sticking around the hook, na they were clearly moving away from the hook and didn't show back up or else kindred would of reveal them. Even the more sneaky characters are normally running around the map, stalking or chasing other survivors to get the jump on them.

People will DC if you bring a Killer or an offering they don't like. It's not even playstyle half the time. And if I get a DC that wasn't based on my choice of Killer, I get a DC for something in match that put the Survivor at a disadvantage. No one should be playing to the other's expectation other than playing the game within the rules and way it was designed.
Heck i seen people dc due to being the first one down or being the first one hooked. It's like ok, the killer is walking away from the hook and you just die on hook, why? Which i see it alot as solo survivor. Someone will dc near the start of the match or kill themselves on hook. Screwing over everyone else, survivor and killer alike.

At least a few times a day I get 1 or 2 teammates who dc.I’m like gee thanks for making the rest of us suffer😐.Although not to long ago all three teammates dc’ed and left me to get moried😒.
Yeah if it not a dc, it's someone who kills themselves on first hook. Which seems to happen vs any killer and not just Phead. Heck sometimes it just the map. Saw someone once kill themselves on first hook and stuck around for post game chat, just to say bad game. Like they screw over the whole team but lack any self awareness that they might be the reason, it was a bad game.

Being left to die on hook? Sounds like a normal game of solo Survivor to me.

Well whenever a ds thread pops up. You will see someone going and calling all killers, crybabies, whiners, ect ect. Throwing anyone who has ever played a killer before into the same group. For rather than speaking in a civil tone and explaining things reasonable, to possibly get people to change their mind. It's simply easier to throw everyone into the same group and insult them all. Which only leads to digging deeper, maintaining their original position or more strongly believing in it, due to seeming like they have personal been attacked rather than being talked out of it with reason. Like you could ask what the point of ds, what is the perk meant for, to stop tunneling or is it meant for another use and someone will simply just call all killer crybabies, whiners ect ect ect. That or look at mori threads, you will see people call others toxic for merely using a mori or call killers that tunnel off first hook for a mori, toxic.
Which you really see both sides being called toxic or being shamed with labeling everyone as being x. Like oh it toxic for a survivor to blind a killer at a pallet. Like i'm sure if you ask ten different people, what is toxic in this game or bad sportsmanship. You will get easily a dozen or so different answers.

Yes this was a part of it. And full disclosure I'm Black and female and I agree with what he was saying because he was advocating for keeping the source material accurate (or as accurate as he could because don't even get me started on the shitney channel and hollywood). When he said that what he was saying is we don't need to rehash the same characters but we need to make new characters that fall in place of whatever someone is trying to create.
Full disclosure I'm saying this next bit as a writer:
I am no a fan of re-characterizing super heroes UNLESS it makes sense and has been a tradition from a story stand point. To keep using Peter Parker yes he should be kept as his original character which is a straight white male (that is also the son of a billionaire scientist who experimented on his son) because that's the OC. Mile Morales should be kept as Black/Latino because he came onto the scene in the comics as that. Tony Stark is White straight man who is Iron Man. Rere Williams will always be a Black woman who is Iron Man's successor. All the Green Lanterns running around. Captain America's successor having the potential to be any race/gender because it's a symbolic super hero that is a reflection of America. Every single Dr.Who. And it's mainly because that's how the characters were originally presented and changing an OC to meet public interests is just bad writing period.
It'll be the end game nonsense all over again where all the immortals die because bullshit reasons and Thanos's real reason for slaughter countless planets is never revealed because his character is rewritten conveniently for the sake of appeasing the masses. Same thing with the Captain Marvel #########. And with the butchering of Scarlet Witch to make her into some meek little child that gets angry and becomes OP mad her come off an a fiery red head and that's bad.
/rant
Now in terms of DBD I personally feel sexuality doesn't need to disclosed because it's pretty obvious most normal high functioning beings wouldn't care about it after a certain point like I previously stated. You aren't going anywhere, you can't die, you've got nothing better to do most of the times. I would be highly surprised if everyone isn't banging someone including the demo to some degree. He's a huge favorite in the Exophiliac community.
I recall James Rhode taking up the iron man title for a time, which was back when i believe they gave Tony his drinking problem and marvel was going with the idea to make their characters more relatable by giving them flaws and personal issues to deal. Which in that case was building up the characters and expanding on them, not doing what the marvel movies love to do. That and Rhodes was around awhile and personal knew Tony before taking up the iron-man title from what i recall. Yet even while Rhodes was using the title of Iron-man, Tony was still Tony. Which was a nice way of handling a passing down of a title, like batman beyond or my hero academy to name two stories off the title of my head that do a passing the torch story well. Respect the old while also treating a new character like well a new character and having them learn the ropes and tricks of the trade.
Which Riri, yeah the bendis run was questionable, for at times it seem like he didn't know what he wanted to do with Riri. Other writers handle her as a character much better, while using some of the things Bendis brought up in his run for Riri backstory but putting them to far better use than Bendis did.
Which yeah, agreed since normally there is no good reason to change a character's looks or other elements for that matter. For once a character has been release into public for years, well everyone knows what Miles looks like, what Peter looks like. Rapidly changing their iconic looks for no real reason, will just lead to confusion. That and also make people wonder, ok what else did they change about a character? For Hollywood rarely stops at just changing the looks of the characters. For hollywood way of doing it, is normally just to change things to change things. Without asking themselves, is it a good idea to change this thing? That or to bring up the awful berserk 2016 adaption, to show it also happens over seas as well. Just to use one moment from that. Well they skip over a whole story arc that happens in the manga. Which is kind of important, to explain why a group of knights are chasing after Guts and also explains why the fight when the way it did. Like they skip over that whole story arc. The knights just show up out of the blue for no reason. It's missing so much important context, it makes the story look like it sucks, when no the original manga explain this stuff and is a good story. Just that that adaption of it is poor as heck. Sure sometimes you get an adaption that is a poor adaption but a good story. Yet that is not always the case, like with berserk 2016, it's a poor adaption due to not following the original source and leaving out important context needed for the story to make sense.
Which oh yes, the captain marvel movie, agreed that was awful. Yeah the marvel movies do make some questionable choices, to put it nicely.
Which yeah i would say that is fair reasoning. Since well dead by daylight is a video game. A character being gay, straight or whatever. Speaking purely from a game point of view, it will have no effect on the gameplay, making it more a question as to ok why does this matter, in terms of gameplay at least. Killers will still kill, survivors will try to escape. Leaving the only thing that it would be good for, is story telling or rather lore. Which can be handle well or poorly. Which i will bring up two pieces of media, one that handles it poor and one that handles it well.
Cw batwoman, Kate Kane is not very well liked last i took the time to look into that show. Ask a sane person why they dislike her and they would list any of the following. Letting criminals go more than once and not caring until it personal effects her, being so self center, that while people are in danger, she will order her man servant to redesign the whole bat suit, just so everyone knows it her and she will get all the credit for it and not batman. Even when she is in the right, that it not good enough and needs to get pay back at the other person by one upping them. Gets hit by a truck while riding her bike and suffers no damage what so ever. That should of heavily injured her if not killed her. Cheating death/injury in ways that make no sense, which is funny enough, one of the reasons people hate Kirito from sword art online as a character. Kate being stupid or stubborn for no real reason, like she could call up the Flash or super girl to help her but doesn't for reasons. I do mean reasons, for they don't even give you one in the show. Like normally a superhero story will go, oh the other heroes are busy doing x or off world or something. Not here in Cw batwoman, they don't explain jack. Kate steals the credit for someone else's hard work. When she finally has some sort of doubt or struggle, something that finally make you think, oh hey this might be interesting and lead to somewhere. Nope, it's fine. Batman murder someone, so it's ok she murder someone. Which they use as a get out of jail free card, so Kate doesn't have to feel guilty about anything. Which is why you will see many people dislike this character. They come off as selfish, a jerk or down right a villain, when they are meant to be a hero. Only unlike villains in other stories or jerks, you don't get to have that joy of seeing them finally pay the price for all of their misdeeds. Which is why Kate is dislike, she simply has traits that you would find more common in characters like villains that you are meant to hate, that and she doesn't really try to improve herself and anytime it seems like she might have to question herself or might be in danger of harm or suffering, a get out of jail free card happens. Oh yeah and also the bat suit is lacking in consistency in that show, to the point it comes off as legit plot armor made reality. One minute it can protect you from being slammed truck into a wall, can protect you from bullets, being send flying through a wall before falling straight down to the cold hard ground below after falling from a great height, yet will not protect her from a hit to the head, which will knock her out and i believe it was a base ballbat that did it or some other melee weaponry or a bare fist. Like cw batwoman show in general, just has alot of issues.
Now to bring up a manga i read awhile ago, i forget the name of it but it was set in japan during the edo era. You had two samurai that were very close, clearly lovers. One of them dies during a night attack. The one that lives, goes on a quest to avenge his fallen lover. This samurai, you get to live about him as the story goes on. He wanted a simple life, just simply living in a village and was happy for a time, but was dragged away from that. Now one person he care deeply about was taken from him and he has simply seen to much warfare to go back and live a peaceful simple life. He is a blood cover blade, that is full of chipped and broken edges that cannot be repair. The era of the blade, the era of the warrior is coming to an end. Yet before his time in the sun fades away, he will avenge his fellow fallen samurai. That and tries to keep others from joining him on this quest, for he wants them to live and be part of the new era that is coming, one of peace and live a happy healthy long life. This lone samurai also loves to drinks and spending time at certain places of business. While this quest they are going on to avenge their fallen samurai lover, does go against the plans of their master, who is trying to overthrow the shogun. Making them have to suffer the downsides of disobeying others, by being warned and later attacked by other samurai for refusing to obey orders. Which this samurai is bisexual. Yet works out better than Kate from batwoman. Which is due to the writing. For they can suffer negative downsides for their actions and don't have a easy get out of jail free card. They have more likable traits, for they can worry about the well being of others more than Kate ever has. Both of these characters, what makes them good or bad as a character. Is not their sexually but the writing and how the writer [or writers] handle them. The Samurai is better as a character than cw version of Kate, due to simply better writing and treating the samurai as a human being, rather than a god like being that can do no wrong. So well, if they are going to reveal the sexually of a character any way. Hopefully it's a well written story. Since i do believe, if you put forth a good story, the majority of people will be able to get behind it or go yeah this is well written.

Who knew you could instantly get better at the game by changing skins? Apparently if I toss some cash into the game and buy a skin, that makes me better at the game. Can't be that some people just dont care about skins enough to bother using shards/cash on them and would rather use those on the shrine or getting new characters.
Yeah the first thing my mind when to, when reading the opening post was the demi video. Where he plays up the gag skins = skill for a meme.

It wasnt a jump scare per say because I knew a stealth killer was onto me due to spinechill, but when I'm hiding and havent seen them yet to get my bearings about which direction theyd be coming from or anything and all I hear is that breathing as if he's right over my shoulder...yikes.
Yeah it starts to become like a true horror movie.

Right? I dont play much survivor, so I still get spooked easy when I do, lol. Had a game last night where I had no clue who the killer was...but my spinechill was goin off so I just backed up and hid, hoping I could spot the killer and get some bearings. From the other side of the wall, all I hear is breathing from a Myers and I was FREAKED.
Yeah Myers and Ghostface both tend to create that reaction. Making survivors freak out or jump scaring them as they grab them off a gen. Which with the current knowing what killer someone is going against going around. I bet the scare jumps are even more epic or fun. Thinking they are going against a Oni or Trapper, someone they can the terror radius of, only to be shocked and surprise as they get grab off a gen.

Thanks for understanding, typically I get the "Why should they be rewarded for fail" clichè response.
Yeah, I believe the last survivor should have a 25% chance to escape on average. 😁
Yeah, for sometimes one person ends up screwing over the whole team at the start of the match. Like i saw someone once go bad game in post game chat. They were the person who killed themselves on their first hook vs a Myers who was just playing the game normally. So they screw over their whole team, stick around for post game chat just to bad mouth. Which sadly, i have way to many stories of someone dcing on first down or killing themselves on hook at the start of a match. Like the dwight, that failed to flash light save, try to loop the killer around in basement. Fails of course. Than they of course kill themselves on first hook. Even seen it while playing killer as well. Get someone down as Myers, first person to go down, hook the ace and they kill themselves while i'm walking away from the hook. On a corn map, they killed themselves vs a Myers on a corn map.

This. I love Claudette so much because she's like me. A nerdy Black chick who didn't fit in much but has a big heart. There's a lot of us out there and I will admit it does get to be a bit frustrating that the Black chick/guy is automatically the "sporty" one.
Representation may not seem like anything and stupid but it means a lot to people who are hardly represented or have only recently been represented in recent years or their representation is easily 50:1.
Stan Lee said it best and there's a reason completely masked super heroes and villains are so popular. It's because anyone can be them and so they mean more to you than someone you can just idolize but never be.
I recall this from Stan Lee in the past couple of years. Not sure if it the same one you are thinking of. Yet it is about this topic of this thread. So might still be worth linking to, in any case.
“I wouldn’t mind, if Peter Parker had originally been black, a Latino, an Indian or anything else, that he stay that way,” Lee said. “But we originally made him white. I don’t see any reason to change that.” -

Sometimes the last survivor was the only one who made team effort while the others either DC'd, gave up, or made very poor plays. They feel like they deserve at least a better, not guaranteed nor high, chance of survival than two Exit Gates being on the same wall. 🙂
Yeah, you see it from time to time in games. Someone will kill themselves on first hook, dc when they get downed. Than the others go down in five seconds and the last remaining survivor, has to get all the saves, to let the game last longer than 5 minutes.

and yes of course it was a bad idea to run at him, i was playing with potatoes and didn't feel like taking the match seriously
Looks like your character model was blocking your view of ghostface. Which is covered in this video i link to. Since you seem to only been able to reveal him, after the ghostface took a slight step backwards.

Yeah, because the "If you don't like it, don't buy it" worked out fine for Battlefield 5.
You do know, "don't like it, don't buy it" doesn't pay bills right?
It's why companies refrain from announcing those statements. And having a "don't like it don't buy it" or "if you don't like it leave" is a very, VERY fascist state of mind.
"You don’t need to ruin things for others"
Was perfect enough.
In the case of battlefield 5, they try to sell it as a historical game. While they were creating fiction or rather lies and trying to sell it as reality. Which people pointed that out and ea just said don't like it, don't buy it. Leading to their sales tankly massively next to other big titles like call of duty. That and when the game came out, it turn out a few of these stories they made up. Were inspired by real events, so they basically replaced real life people with fictional characters. Which was a second slap in the face, to anyone who values history. Replacing real life people, in events they took part in with fictional characters. It's like they just gave two big fat middle fingers to the people who fought in this world war and risked their lives.
Like ea could of avoided this whole mess by doing one of two things. Saying their game is base off of war world 2 or influence by it. Since Valkyria Chronicles setting is heavily influenced by world war 2, yet is it's own original thing, allowing it to have more creative freedom. Since it's not trying to pass of it's self off as a historical game. It know it's fiction and is well aware of it, so it treats it's self like a fictional story. Not trying to pass it's self off as reality, when it's clearly fiction. Like ea screwed up so royally on so many levels with battlefield 5, it's impressive how badly they shot themselves in the foot over and over again.

I especially like the ones where 3 people are downed in 2 minutes. I'm not the best survivor. So when I can tell it's up to me to carry the team I know we're in trouble.
I had that happen the other day vs a bubba and again during a huntress. Had to make all the saves, to keep the game from ending in like five minutes.

I'd say I'm 90% of the time solo. The rest of the time a 2 man. And yes, the pain is real.
Yeah, you know it's going to be a "fun" solo survivor game, when someone dcs after getting down or kill themselves on first hook.
