And the same can be said of playing survivor. You either get good team mates or garbage ones. Which is why I listed match making as needing fixed to reach balance.

As someone who only solo survivors. It truly is a coin flip, if your team mates will have a idea of what they are doing or not.

I kinda don't see who's getting the good unhooks and healing, but I also play Pig and focus in generator protection.

I let my score speak for itself though, and I always prefer to earn a hatch, rather than be given it.

Yeah there are some builds which don't have bbq. So a killer might not really know that. Even if they do have bbq, the survivor might be close, might be hiding in a locker to avoid bbq effect. Hiding behind a gen, to hide. Going way one and than the other, to counter bbq effects. Even with the possible information you might of gotten from bbq, it can still not tell you the full picture of what happen during the match.

This game does probably need more in the balancing department to account for SWF, rather than purely solo play. A clear goal within games would also be nice, even if it is just the devs saying LOOK AT THE PIP SYSTEM, DO THAT.

There is also the issue of those who play only one side or rarely play the other side and don't really consider their point of view. Some of these opinions are more detrimental to the game than any other opinion shared.

Reviewing older perks and powers/killers similar to the Freddy and Doctor reworks would also be nice, as some of the earliest stuff from the seem kinda lacklustre compared to some of the newer stuff. The only other thing I could say is making very niche perks very strong at the one thing they do. Soul Guard does seem more like a step in this direction, while a perk like Camaraderie are too limited in what they do for the little reward they offer. One change I'd suggest is having Breakdown work for when you unhook, as well as being unhooked or have them sabotaged for a VERY long time.

Yeah camaraderie is petty bad, i don't think it would be very useful, even in the case of a face camping bubba. Unless you are on coms or something, than maybe it might be useful against a face camping bubba, to maybe give your team more time to do gens and get out. That is really the only case i can really think of, where it might be useful. Might. Which yeah is it one of these perks that needs to be looked over, along with furtive chase. Like why would i use furtive chase, when Nemesis exists and allows you to change always ensure you have a obsession, even if the old one dies off. That or if i want to sneak up on people easier, monitor and abuse exists. Which it's main effect [for furtive chase]is a smaller terror radius in a chase. I'm not sure how that would be helpful during a chase. Maybe there is something i overlooked but i don't see why anyone would want to run this perk over, monitor and abuse if they want to be sneaky or Nemesis for a obsession build. That or if one wants to be sneaky, they can just play, pig, wraith, ghostface or even Myers if their goal is to be sneaky and get them jumpscares or just to mind game folks during the chase.

That and yeah, also add on reworks for some survivor items and killers like pig, ghostface, ect ect. Yeah both sides need some loving.

Agreed. But he is a superhero characters that has movies, comics all sort of stuff. And first appeared in the 60's (i think) and has been evolving since. Superhero's are bassicly our version of gods so i don't think anyone was expecting a survivor having a lore or personallity as deep as Peter Parker.

To me orientation is like what the colour of your eyes is. From my experience it makes no difference on personality. I agree that if they make a new surviver and the only core attribute that they have is being a LBGT would be just as dissapointing as having a character who's only core attribute is that the colour of their eyes is green. That said i know i have picked video game characters over others on the notion that they had the same colour of eyes as me. It can be that little bit of extra connection that makes you like characters.

In short as long as they do it right i see absolutly no negatives. Being an LBGT won't stop me from playing a character who i like. And it might be that little extra connectivity that draws someone else to the character

Yep 1962 in amazing fantasy 15. Yeah i don't anyone is going to think a brand new character, is going to have the same depth as a massively older character with ages of history. Na that i think might be a bit unreasonable but even new characters can have some depth to them or things you can sink your teeth into. Tiny little things, like they want to earn money, to support their parents. Which can give a goal and reason for why they are doing certain things in their life. Maybe that why they join say the mob, to earn money for their parents medical bills and to ensure their safely while they are recovery from some sort of illness. It might not be much as a character with dozens of years of history but it's more than enough, to make someone go, ohhh that might sound interesting. For it a bit like fishing, got to use the right bait to draw people in and make them interested in learning more about these characters. That or to use Jojo, well each part of jojo, has a different main character with their own personality. While Jonathan would be the more honorable knight or gentleman type. Joseph would be more of the trickster type, who might come off as a fool but is really smarter than he looks. Leading to there being such a variety in the cast, everyone ends up having their own favorite jojo character. For each of the jojo main characters, was at one point in time the new kid on the block but over time would become just as beloved if not more so than past main characters, due to well basic good writing, learning a few basic things about the character to hook you on them and than slowly over time reveal more about them. For the new cast just like the old, had to learn the ropes and go through their own adventures, struggles and challenges.

Which yeah i think you bring up a fair point, since this is a video game and all that. Some people don't really care about the lore or backstory of a character, they will just pick one that looks cool or they simply like the look of. Which is fine. Since well there is always the logic of, if you are going to look at something all day or for hours at a time, might as well be something you enjoy looking at or something you personal like. Which is fair.

Yeah i agree, long as they do it right. It will simply be a win win for the majority. People who want more of x, will get that but at the same time, people who want a good character to get invested in and learn more about, will get a brand new interesting character to learn about and sink their teeth into. With these who are interested in a good character who also happen to be x, they will be pleased as well. Making it a win win.

    Okay but listen

You're defending your stance as LGBTQ shouldn't be used as a marketing scheme etc etc so therefore no character should be made LGBTQ...

If that's true and you care so much about the preservation integrity of the LGBTQ community rather than the community being used as a moneymaking ploy then shouldn't you let the opinions and desires of the LGBTQ community be king in the decider whether there should or shouldn't rather than speaking for them on why they shouldn't get represented? And I'm just clarifying, I am only making this point solely based off all of your replied and self defensive points so far.

I would love some LGBTQ content and I can't see any issues with current characters being LGBTQ as long as it

    A) Does not conflict with any existing lore

    B) Does not become a main focus of their character and I mean this in the way of a lot of their lore revolves around it. I am so tired of LGBTQ characters being made as if LGBTQ is their whole personality, is the only aspect of their lives. I actually don't want relationships IN GENERAL to ever be a big focus in the characters.

Yeah b is a issue that people will have in time to time in stories. Where a character just stops being a person and simply becomes a hive mind with another character, due to being a couple and seem to have no life outside of their relationship with that character, as if they gave up their whole personality just to fuse together with the other character. Leading to them being just overall less interesting, for they no longer are two characters but simply one hive mind that cannot exist outside of this relationship. Which something you sometimes seen in long running shows, you see flanderization, where a minor trait of a character, just ends becoming that characters only trait. Turning them from a once interesting character with many traits and odd little things that help to flesh them out, only to become a one note character over time that is only x and nothing else.

Which of all the people have talked over the years, who have taken issue with western entertain. It's not due to disliking x or y characters. It's due to poor story telling. Which is why many have gone over to eastern media like manga from japan. Which has lots of female characters and no one bats a eye. Boy and girl's love genre that focus on same gender relation ships and no one cares. For it's normal and has been normalized and no one makes a big deal out of it. That and even if the story is not the best, eastern media at least tries to entertain you normally or tell a good story. While western media can make you go, whatttttt? Cw Batwoman, had the logic in one episode. You can get away with stealing money from people, posting someone credit card information out to the public and almost injuring or murdering people, all of that is ok due to the character being gay and wanting to buy a ticket to get away from their parents. That was legit logic the show used and the character who did all of these things, got off scott free in the end. If this was any other show, this character would be send to jail or have to go on a quest of some sort to redeem themselves for their bad actions. The show logic, just seem like a lazy and cheap get out of jail free card that they can employ without having the character do anything to make up for their questionable actions. It like a character getting a random power boost out of the blue, it makes no logical sense and is just something the writer pulled out their rear, for they could not think of anything else. It just bad logic. Which is the issue. Just simple plain old bad story telling. Which is why, if you are going to create a character. Any character. Make them a bloody character, with things they like, dislike, love, fear, hate ,ect ect.

Which as you point out, the worst thing you can do for any character who is the main character, is to make them a one note character who has only one trait. Since any famous or formerly iconic character like Luke Skywalker, Spider-man, superman, are all known for who they are as a person, not what they are. Which is what sexually is, be they straight, gay, bi, ect. That is what they are, not who they are. For you put in the effort and make a good character, many people are going to enjoy them, no matter what they are. For we have had fantasy stories about orcs, dwarves as the main characters and other fantasy races. If anything, has been proven over the years. Is that you can make people relate to almost anything, long as you employ good writing. For what some writers forget these days is, a person, a character is more than just a single trait. A good character is alot like a machine, they have many parts aka character traits and events that happen in their life, that combine together to make them who they are. Some more important than others but none the less these are the things that shape and make them feel like a true living person. For if a character is well written brand new original character, i'm sure the majority of people will be fine with it.

I think BHVR will handle it better simply because they employ LGBT people. If you want a woman to be written correctly, you hire a woman. If you want an L/G/B/T character to be written correctly, you hire an L/G/B/T person.

Well to use a old video game, star wars republic commando. Well the writers have no real military experience. So they when and ask for advice from someone who does have military experience, to learn from. To learn what a elite special forces commando would do. Which i believe gta also did the same thing but for criminal related stuff. They didn't personal experience this but would go out and talk to others who did. Learning from their experiences and than using their skills as writers to employ it to their work. Which i believe it what marvel used to do back in the early days, go around the city. Learning and experiencing things, to help aid in their writing. Hawkwood manga, is about the 100 years war between france and english, done by someone from japan and yet does a great job at getting many details about the time period right, like the armor.

Well all of these things share one thing in common, they did their research. Showing, you don't have to be x to tell a tale about x. It just depends on how good you are at telling a tale and how much effort you are willing to put into things. For to look at a few more things. The comic border town and the movie coco. Both cover the same culture. Yet one of them, Coco handles it better and also tells a better tale. Yet the person who made coco is not from that culture. They simply did their research. While border town writer, is from that culture and yet wrote a poorly told and confusing story, that doesn't make sense at times. That can come off as disrespect to the culture they are covering. While Coco comes off as way more respectful to the culture, due to handling all of it's characters and the story being much better in general. So i wouldn't say it's always the case of you hire x and they will be able to write x well. Like there was a old devildare one and x-men run. Done by the same woman and was rather well done, due to the quality of her skill as a writer and she was able to handle male characters, even without being one. Blue exorcist manga, main character is a male and the author is a female. Yet the main character is well written, due to her skill as a writer. I would say what matters more is one skill as a writer and how much effort they are willing to put into it. That and there is full metal alchemist. Female writer, Edward and his brother, are well written characters. Showing once again, you don't have to be x to write x well.

I personally don't care about characters or people's sexual orientation

But if it makes people able to connect with a character better and able to enjoy the game better i don't see a problem with it

All the more power too them

Spider-man aka Peter Parker the one from the classic comics, is a character that people from countless different races can relate to, men and women alike. Why do so many care for Peter Parker? Why do so many like this character and can relate to them? Simple. Due to going through struggles and challenges that are very relatable. Like being poor and down on your luck. Peter has had money issues countless times. Having to balance his personal life and his life as a super hero [or to put it another way, think of it as trying to balance your work life and personal life]. Dealing with lost of friends and family. Peter goes through struggles that are very common and relatable to many people, no matter who or what they are. Which allows people from all different backgrounds and walks of life to relate to him, due to his struggles being very common and relatable to many people. People don't relate to Peter, due to him being male, due to him being white or straight. No it's due to what he has gone through as a character, who he is as a person that people relate to. Which is why Peter is such a relatable character to many different folks. He is not some hollow empty shell, people can only relate to due to looking the same or wish fulfillment. Which is why i think, the best way to get people to rally behind a character or relate to them, is to well treat them like any other character and employ some good writing.

I have not followed X-Men for a very very long time, so I cannot speak to this, other than to acknowledge that I have heard, in passing, that this happened at some point. There are, certainly as with anything, unwieldy ways to handle the subject matter.

Behaviour's current stance and implied direction is not one of them.

Yeah behaviour i think will handle it better, due to being able to learn from others that did it poorly or these who did it correctly. Since well to bring up manga. They have a whole genre of boy's love and girl's love. Lots of quality stories that handle it rather well from japan. Which in both of these cases, use new original characters to tell a story and thanks to quality story telling it works. For they handle them like everyone else. Write a character who happens to be x and bang. It works. For the character is just treated like a character.

There are gay characters in horror films, too.

And this is the same kind of strange argument that people made about Overwatch, too. I don't even know what it means when people say that a character being gay feels "forced." It is a fictional character, it's whatever the creator wants it to be. If anything, Soldier 76 played against type, and it was a good way to say "hey, orientations are of all shapes and sizes" within the confines of that fictional universe. Like Overwatch, Dead by Daylight does not feature blank slate characters who are devoid of characterization. They both came out of the gate with characters who had backstories and personalities (more implied than shown in DBD, but you get the picture). There has never not been a "canon lore," as you call it.

I don't mean to put words in your mouth, but these kinds of arguments always come across as "Can we just not have gay stuff in here?" when they boil down to the kinds of points that you have been making.

Marvel comics turned Iceman gay. A character who has a history of being straight, dating countless women and being in relationships with one. Than suddenly out of the blue, marvel turns him gay for reasons. Which throws past history of the character into the trash. Which even ignoring that. The character could still possibly be good with this change but nope. They turn him into the worst gay stereotype you can think of. Making him come off more like a pure jerk who only cares about himself. The new current iceman has gotten upset at a love interest, for not wanting to put being in danger all the time, due to super villains. Something that sounds very reasonable but no, the current iceman doesn't understand that and comes off like a jerk. Has created ice status of himself, just to waste his parents time by making him think he is just waiting outside the fast food place they were visiting and before that, yell at them for trying to help out someone else while in public. Has destroy the property of others for no other reason, than just to be a jerk. That and Ice-man endlessly reminds you he is gay. Which would be akin to a character saying i'm straight over and over again. That or badly used flash backs that remind you three times in a row of information you already knew, like what the naruto anime does, leading it being annoying, due to just being told the same thing in a short period of time and treating you like a moron who can't remember anything if not told to you over and over again. Yes yes i understand they are x sexually. Lets get on with the story already. So in the case of marvel Iceman. Not only did they change the character's sexually for no real reason. They also turn a character that would care for the ones who loved, into a self center jerk, who only really cares about himself. That and endless issues with simple bad writing. Could they have made this change work and have it possibly made logic sense? Yes that is possibly but with the way they did it. It come off as force, lazy and poorly written. Along with giving the middle finger to people who have been following this character and his adventures for years, possibly generations now by throwing out past cannon and history for no real reason. While in return all one is given, is poor writing and poorly written stories. With the whole thing coming off as force, since they so rapidly changed a character for seeming no logical reason.

Like I said, it most likely is a PR stunt but it doesn't take away the fact it could help the movement around the cause. It also could be that they actually support minorities, even if it took them 3 years. Opinions can and do change over time.

Heterosexuality has been forced on people for a long time and it still is an ongoing problem. That is the reason why saying "don't shove it down our throats" hurts people who doesn't fit the straight norm. Especially them who found out their "odd" orientation at young age.

Lore is lore. It can be rewritten, you can always add more to it, take away from it, whatever the writers feel like. Not accepting diversity just because lore hasn't been detailed doesn't really sound a strong argument.

Disney star wars, rewrites it's lore all the time. Leading to endless inconsistencies, retcons and general story issues. There is no reason to be invested in it or give a care, for not only have they given the middle finger to old legacy characters like Luke, Han and others more times than one can count. They even try to rewrite the original movies with their animated shorts. Making Luke look like a fool and moron. Making Han look worst than he was in the movies. Making Leia look like a crazy blood thirsty insane person. When they were trying to get people hype for episode 9 and the Emperor returning. They release a comic, that brought in a new character that simply bash and insulted the Emperor and made the Emperor look like a idiot. Making a fair few people question why the heck did they do this, when they are trying to get people hype for the Emperor return but than release this comic, which make it seem like the Emperor is no big deal and is nothing more than a moron. Which goes against episode one to three, where he is a master mind that plots the downfall of the jedi and taking control of the galaxy for himself.

So while you can rewrite stuff or retcon stuff. It should be used in a very sparingly way or you end up with the mess that is disney star wars. Since if you retcon stuff all the time or the rules of a magic system can change on the drop of a dime. Well you give people no reason to care, for there is nothing to sink their teeth into. They can't get invested in the fights, for they lack any understanding as to how the magic system works, the powers and abilities both characters have or why they are fighting in the first place. For consistency is normally king when it comes to writing, since it allows one to get more invested in the conflict of the story and the characters. For a character that acts in a consistence way, can make them feel more like a real person. Since you get to know what they like, dislike, why they act a certain way and ect.

  • I fear no killer build. My team mates however, i fear them. For i know the killer will kill me but my team mates? I have no idea what they will try and do.

Thrilling tremors comes to mind, in terms of being a nightmare on how to label it. Like how one would label that? Since yes it does act like corrupt in terms of blocking off gens, yet it often used for information, to know where to go next after hooking a survivor. Due to becoming aware of which gens are being worked on and which gens are not being worked on. So would it fall under gen stopping or tracking?

I wish they’d change them as well. They promote extremely unfun gameplay on both sides. The killer is incentivised to tunnel straight off the hook and instantly remove someone from the game, and the survivors rush gens as fast as they can, avoid altruism and then play as immersed as possible. Mori games are truly awful.

Which what you detail here, sounds like a match i had not long ago, where a Mori was used. We were getting the gens done rather quickly, Down to one. Than people started to die, due to the Mori. Which the killer didn't seem that great at the game, of course it was also a corn map and they might of been suffering from corn blindness. With how easily they lost a survivor that was nearby more times than i can count and survivors were able to escape from them a fair number of times in general. Yet things turn around greatly in their favor, once they started to find the people who they could Mori.

  • Plunders and Ace in the hole, combine together. It's like playing an action rpg, where you just gotta get that loot and the best part is, if you grab a good item and escape. You get free add ons plus a item. That and you can possibly loot a key, with the add on that allows you to keep it, even if you die. So you can still die in a match and get a key out of it. Doesn't always happen but it very fun when it does.

And on top of that, you make their healing slower.

That is one of my favorite combos, when it comes to survivor. Nothing like getting a speed boost and the killer having no idea where to go, due to a lack of marks. Ninja power!

  • Well from watching the clip, it seems like you could use some help in looping. Which is where Scott guide on looping might be very useful.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8u0jRxN2kQ

Which as others have said, avoiding the discordance warning, to chase after a single survivor while you still had pop active, might of not been the best idea.

Which if gens are a issue for you. You can always give out fungoose build a try. Which should help slow the game down, just a little bit.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCoNYc_FX08

That or if you like blood points. Another build that can work well on ghostface, is surge, pop, bbq, surveillance. Which will help you keep track of gens and slow them down.

Which i am not sure how skillful you are at playing ghostface in general. Yet this guide might be helpful in general, to give you a better idea of how to play ghostface or to refresh you on some basic common tips and tricks, like 99% someone with your stalk and save them for later.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH4DhskSbz4

Which for maps that have a killer shack. You can stalk survivors through a small hole in the shack. Which can be seen in this Otz video. Which he does around the 2 minute and 24 second mark. Which can be helpful, if a gen spawns in the killer shack.

For the chase one I guess for example I ahd a match earlier with 3 dark cosmetic claudettes in yamaoka estate and I found it so hard to keep track of them, I feel like a lot of that might just be because I'm not great at killer yet though haha

Yamaoka estate, if i recall correctly. Yeah that is rather dark map with many good hiding spots for survivors. Which yeah Claudettes can be ninjas at times. Like i was playing ghostface in one game. I was in the middle building and was going to stalk someone from afar. Someone broke me out of my power and i looked around. There was a random Claudette right next to me, i didn't notice was there before. Did not end well for that Claudette. Stab them, they fall down from the building, giving me enough time to recover from stabbing them the first time and easily catching up with them, to down them.

  • Yeah i meant the other dude . Who was going ez and noob legion. Should of made that clearer. My fault there. Yet hey, at least someone had a laugh at me being a moron. So it all works out.

Surge, just because it's effect isn't as obvious as Pop people call it a bad perk. I'm using it consistently in red ranks and it's amazing.

On killer bloodhound. I know as a veteran killer it may be a waste but as someone who's relatively knew to killer it's such a huge help to me so I can keep track of survivors in a chase, especially claudettes and in corn fields

I'm someone who suffers from corn blindness. Yeah being able to track things easier in the corn, is a blessing. For oh hey, i'm chasing someone. Where the heck are they? I have no idea.

On the survivor side my main perks are either not underrated that much or generally considered, on the contrary, really good.

As for the killer I actually like Mad Grit very much, especially combined with Iron Grasp and Agitation. Very fun and basically makes you killing machine even when you carry people on your shoulder. Also, Iron Maiden goes very well with the Huntress.

Mad Grit is fun and i seen it screw over a team once, for they had no idea the killer had it. Leading to everyone being injured due to trying to bodyblock the hook, in return for no real gain.

  • Like i have no idea why that steamer, is so proud of themselves for escaping vs a legion that seems clearly new to the game. Like oh no, a experience person with who knows how many hours, beat a person who just picked up the game, that was really a challenge, oh wait no it wasn't. Like why are they being such a jerk? Makes no sense. Have they not heard of good sportsmanship?

Disagree. Spirit is fine as she is, she is just strong. Freddy is very balanced, and doesn't have anything too overpowered about him. Doctor is weak, the last thing he needs is a nerf. I know you only posted this to trigger some people from the passive aggressive smiley face ;).

I love playing against Spirits. Always fun to play against. Freddy, no issue with him. Which one thing many killers could do with right now i would say, is add on reworks. To make some of their more questionable add ons, a bit more useful and not make you question, why would anyone ever use this?

He just stares and does M1-Killer stuff.

The bit of excitement i get from him only comes from people adopting his specific playstyle of laying low.

At least Ghost Face can do a proper peek-a-boo around corners, plus t-bag.

Nah, i think he's the most bland Killer right now.

Ghostface can also use crouching [by crouching and uncrouching quickly during a chase] to make it look like they are faking an attack, to bait out dead hard. Can crouch around certain loops, if the walls are tall enough, to make the survivor guess where you are coming from. Ghostface can do alot of mind gaming, Myers simply can't. Ghostface crouching simply has many uses and allows ghostface to simply pull off way more mind gaming than Myers.

I remember how ######### this game can be for brand new players (as the game gives you no info really beyond the most basic of basic info) and when some poor yellow bastard with one perk gets into the match with a bunch of Red Ranks, I could see that absolutely crushing a new players desire to play. That Nurse I mentioned got one hit TOTAL that entire game and that was on me because I finished a gen in a basement and had to walk through the Nurse to get out.

The game has a brutal learning curve so I'm just at least trying to do my part to keep new blood injected into the game :)

Yeah it can be brutal for new players. New survivor. No idea how to loop. No knowledge about the map layout. That or oh hey, play killer. Get kick in the rear due to awful match making and not having a good idea how to best use your killer power. No idea how to deal with loops. That and having to earn and spend possibly millions of blood points, to get a decent build. It can be rough for a new player for a number of reasons, if they buy the game and just wanna hop in right away and not have to read or look things up online.

Yeah, it's a really bad issue. I'm only concerned with my survivor ranks though.

As killer, I still have the skill of a R1, it's just that as survivor, I shouldn't be any higher than 10.

Yeah, hopefully the new match making will fix some of the issues. Yeah i think i might be better as killer than survivor myself as well. For oh yeah, i know just how to run this and mind game people at this loop. Playing as survivor, i normally forget bloody everything i learn as killer and forget how to run common loops and just run in a panic half the time.

So you play solo survivor, get questionable teammates, then play with a good player.. what do you do next?

You add them to a swf squad since they are reliable. Then killer complain about the amount of really good swf teams.

I remember this vividly. Me and my 2 mates played against a rank 1 spirit main. I'm not joking when I say they weren't a rank 1 killer. After ruin was destroyed and 3 gens popped they just gave up and stood in the corner.

They were streaming so I decided to watch their next game. The team made this person look like a million bucks. Never fazed during chases but they somehow made this game into a competitive game where the killer got 3 kills and one got the door. Shockingly 2 rank 1 survivors and 2 other red ranks.

I just thought to myself "so this is why people think rank 1 swf teams are op".

Well solo survivor does make for interesting stories and does force me to learn how to be a better survivor and loop the killer better. Which yeah, that is why anyone who plays with a team. It's very understandable. For at least you have some consistency with how bad or good your friends are and know what you are getting into.

What what. Nani nani? I think my brain just fry upon reading that. A spirit main, who is rank one. Who plays spirit more than any other killer, doesn't use their power during chases? Like i don't even play Spirit that much myself but even i was able to figure out, oh yeah using your power during a chase is a good idea. Like playing survivor and going against spirit, should teach you how useful her power is during a chase. So how did a Spirit main not figure this out? Which yeah, sounds like they gave up way to early. I have had games as killer, come down to the final three gens. Which would lead to turning the game around back in my favor.

Which yeah, the second part of that, does explain how they made it to rank one. Boosted animals all around.

Too true mate. Red ranks should be "the best of the best" but it isn't really lol

Yeah it more a coin flip, if you will get good/decent team mates or not as a solo survivor in red ranks. Saw a meg, who turn out to be a rank 4. Who would walk around in circles and be scare to death of touching a gen, until it was almost finish. Like only me and the other person, who i think was a Yui. Were the only people doing gens. While both of the megs were just acting like rank 20s, yet somehow got to red ranks.

That or a Jane who just kept jumping in and out of lockers, they didn't even have head on. They were a rank 2. Even did the classic ds into locker trick, after getting unhook. Heal them up, only for them to jump in and out of a locker again. Only me and one other survivor were doing gens. With the third person, kept trying to help the Jane and kept getting screwed over by them. I have no idea how they made it to rank 2, if that is how they normally act in a game. Like this is just a few stories i have from solo adventures as survivor. Sometimes you know the game is just going to end poorly, before it even reaches that point, just due to how your team mates are acting. Which does make me wonder, how many killer have reached red ranks or be forced into them, due to facing questionable survivors.

Whispers tells you where survivors are, and also where they aren't. It's especially great on slower-moving killers like Huntress, and it lets you get into the radius of a gen and confirm quickly that no one is there, rather than walking all the way to the gen. It's also great for patrolling gates after gens are done, as you can easily intuit which gate survivors are headed toward.

Whispers works well on ghostface, oh hey a survivor is with in range? Sweet, might be able to get some stalk off on them. For a nice one hit down.

    @LordRegal said:

Exhaustion perks in general. Yes they help extend chases, yes something like Adrenaline is helpful once a match. But after the first time you use it, the killer, assuming they're not a total potato, knows you have it and will plan around it. Sprint burst? Don't heavy commit until you catch them between uses. Dead hard? Fake a hit or delay your swing. Lithe? Work angles and don't be afraid to abandon the chase in favor of someone else if you're coming up on a window. Adrenaline? Once a match and not all that great. I don't bother with them.

Ghostface can quickly crouch and uncrouch to make it look like they are about to swing, to bait out dead hard during a chase. Which yeah Sprint burst, it normally easy to guess who has it. They will normally be the person walking around in plain slight, when the killer is nearby, rather than running to the hills.

Which yeah Adrenaline as a solo survivor, it like a coin flip. It might go off or you might all die long before the final gen is done. Since in solo, you might be part of a god tier team or you might be part of a rank 20 team or just boosted animals who have no idea what they are doing. So as a solo survivor, it might be better to take basically any other perk besides adrenaline, to help get a gen or two, maybe just a few extra blood points out of the match before you die.

  • @Quol said:

    Adrenaline. It's too situational.

Sure it might give you a timely heal while slugged or a much needed Sprint burst mid chase. But you are just as likely to get randomly exhausted at full health while the killer is on the other side of the map. Not to mention it's an end game perk and I find perks you can use throughout the match more useful.

There is also times, when you get down and then simply end up down on the floor again, due to the killer standing right over your body, when it pops off.

While yes alot of survivors using the tunnling excuse when the killer didnt tunnel but sometimes it is legit tunnling

Yeah ds, sometimes it does go off, due to team mates farming you and forgot unhooking in front of the killer without borrow time is not a good idea, which happens from time to time in solo survivor land. Other times it is due to legit tunneling. Sometimes the killer is just someone who has the ability to snowball greatly, when they play their cards just right and just picked up the wrong person first. Many different reasons as to why ds might go off, depending on the context of the match.

Honestly, I haven't slowed at all, now rank 4 and still going.

Yeah, the game with how fast you go through the ranks. Just makes me question at time, do i belong at my currently rank? Since i wonder, since the game keeps sending me back to red ranks as a survivor and i have to wonder, do i really belong here or should i be at a lower rank? When match making pairs me up with red rank survivors and a red rank killer and not yellow rank team mates and killers, who are clearly new to the game.

  • @Poweas said:

Yeah, I've been playing like a bot at survivor since my return, yet I'm somehow Rank 5? They should make ranking up harder to keep people in the ranks they SHOULD be at. I shouldn't be any higher than 10 with my current level of skill. And once I get back to my old self, I'll have to deal with people who play like I currently do (very badly). BHVR should make ranking up as survivor harder.

Yeah ranking up, just seems like you blaze through them until you get to red ranks. You only see any real slow down to ranking up, when it comes to red ranks.

  • @Rydog said:

I get the appeal of Adrenaline, but it's situational enough to me (it doesn't help at all until the end of the match) that I'd rather bank on other stuff.

yeah as a solo survivor, i have no idea if my team will make it to end game or not. Making Adrenaline possibly worthless to me more often than not. I think something like prove thyself or anything else really, would help to ensure more blood points or at least make it so one or two more gens might get done, before everyone dies awfully.

I am on topic. What are you on about? This sounds like a strawman to me.

The nerfing of DS after it was buffed because enduring and then not being changed after enduring did not effect it anymore does not have to be this binary thing where we can only nerf the stun timer. And I don't believe it's the best answer either, as nerfing the stun timer does absolutely nothing to stop the abuse cases of DS, which is what people are complaining about in the first place.

It would make those abuse cases less rewarding for sure, but I'd rather they just fixed the issue entirely, not do yet another band-aid fix to something which would also make tunneling more easy to do which is I think something the vast majority of us can agree we don't want.

Yeah since enduring no longer effects the ds stun, which has been proven in this thread. That yes, this is the reason why ds is a 5 second stun. So the logically thing would be make it 3 seconds again, since enduring no longer effects it and that is the reason behind the change in the first place. Of course the main issue is not really the stun but how as you say, survivors can abuse it for god mode, by doing gens in front of a killer with no fear or going into a locker near a gen, forcing a killer to eat the ds or leave them alone to possibly repair a gen. That and since the devs seem to have no interest in lowering the stun. Well there are other ways one could rework it, to make it better.

Since ds is the unofficial anti tunnel perk. It seems rather bad at doing it's job. Since you have to lose a chase [giving the killer who is trying to tunnel you, what he wants] and than have to be picked up right away, hoping none of your team mates try and save you and simply lead to killer chasing after them and doing nothing more than having your timer go away. Than the killer comes back and your timer is gone. Which is why Otz idea of reworking the perk. Even if not perfect, does sound like it would avoid alot of the abuse and using it as being immune to anything the killer does for 60 seconds.

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/644981437

For around the 6 hour and 15 minute mark. Otz starts a match as ghostface, around the 6 hour and 20 minute mark. A recently unhook survivor, while injured. Who is on death hook. Travels all the way across the map, just to stalk Otz and break him out of his power. Which why did they do something so stupid? They had ds of course. Which is around when Otz starts to explain his idea for a ds rework. Which is much like the one you brought up before, of it going off. It lasts for 5 minutes if you are being chased by the killer but goes off if you do something like a gen. Which does sound like it would ignore it being abused. While at the same time, a survivor can legit try their best to avoid escaping the killer who is tunneling them and try healing up, without having to worry their team mates will deny them the ability to use their ds, due to the killer chasing them off before coming back to you and your ds being gone by the time the killer comes back. That and also allows a survivor, if they are legit being tunnel, the ability to put up a good chase, without having to fear so much their ds is about to end.

  • @aGoodOldRub said:

Btw I don't think any person in their right mind would like it to be reverted to 3 seconds. I don't see why you would want that unless you tunnel and camp. We all know sometimes we get hit by decisive just for making good and fast plays or survivors messing up but which is better making tunnelers and campers stronger and more annoying for the sake of some instances where you can't pick up people because of fast downs or the way it is now. It is the lesser evil.

Well if someone is really going out of their way to tunnel you. You would most likely be in a chase. So you could rework it to make it like what otz brought up in one of his recent steams. Make it last 5 minutes if you are in a chase. Yet it turns off, if you do a gen, enter a locker, ect. It still remains active, while you are healing up. That way it works as anti tunneling, while stopping it from being pure immunity or god mode during it's time and can't work on a gen in front of a killer with no fear.

Yeah lockers, you can't really slug the player there. You are force to eat it. Not only that, but there is this case here. Where two megs looked alike [wearing the same outfit and all that], Otz pick up the wrong one and it lead to getting ds. So just slug and keep track of the survivors who got unhooked recently, can be a bit of a issue. When you have two survivors down on the ground, who are not only the same survivor, in this case meg but are also wearing the same outfit. Making it impossible to tell them apart when both of them are knock down to the ground.

Yeah sometimes i wish it took longer to get through the lower ranks into the higher ranks. To help give people more experience and make them ready for the high ranks. Since it just seems like you blaze through the lower ranks with a mere snap of your fingers. I gave someone the hatch as killer and the game goes, you played well enough to get merciless killer, when i shown mercy and gave the last person the hatch. :P It does at times seem like the game just forces you into the higher ranks, even when you know jack about how to play survivor or killer effectively.

  • @LordGlint said:

Feel like this is just troll advice. Telling people that skilled killers get tunnel vision on 1 survivor at a time is just untrue.

Yeah the advice does sound odd. Since normally the issue you see with killers, is focusing two much on a single target. Which is why the advice to not commit to overlong chases is often given and learning to jiggle. That or not to chase a survivor to far, if they are going to a place where there are no gens.

Like to bring up ghostface, one thing that you will commonly see someone who has some skill with the killer, is 99% someone for later. Which sloppy is common on ghostface, so being able to jiggle and get people injured, can help to slow down the game a great deal, if the survivors are the type that like to heal up. Combine with nurse calling, another perk that is good on ghostface and other sneaky killers. Well, sneaking up on someone when they are out of position and have no idea you are right behind them is fun. That and generally having many survivors injured, leads to them being easy pickings to take down or just as said before, can help to slow down the game, for a fair number of survivors love to heal up and don't like to be injured. That or to use Oni, getting two early hits, thanks to the survivors grouping up, is a divine wind. For you will be able to get your power super early on and start snowballing.

If i'm playing killer and i see a blood party steamers. Yeah i am going to play nice. Hook everyone at least once, for bbq stacks. Than just chase and run around like normal, let everyone leave in the end. For the offering benefits everyone. I didn't use that steamers but someone else was kind enough to use one, to give everyone some bonus points. So hey, i'm more than willing to play nice. More so if there is more than one blood party steamers in play.
