Well it depends. If we get all the gens done, normally someone is injured. Possibly healing up, running from the killer who just found us. Half of us going down to noed, than the last survivor making the right call and getting the heck out asap. Solo survivor is full of all sorts of crazy wacky things. You never know what happens next. Two people just looping around the killer as they are carrying someone. Searching for the killer who has gone afk. Basically it like a card game, you never know what will happen next.

I don't have a problem with totems spawning near generators. I do however want to see a Corrupt Protection perk, so if I bring Ruin or Devour Hope into a match, it will last longer than 30 seconds.
Yeah that would be a nice perk to have, for someone running a hex build. That and might lessen the rng of a bad totem spawn, if it protected totems for awhile. Since while playing as survivor, i have spawned mere metres away from a glowing totem before. Leading to that totem being destroy almost as soon as the game starts.

Imo gens aren't the problem, it's the lack of objectives survivors have!
Which yeah gens, are the only real thing survivors need to do. Totems they don't really need to do, unless the killer is running a hex perk. That and there is the ever raging debate if cleansing totems is a waste of time or not. Since there are some matches, where cleansing totems will just be for points and no other reason. Since the killer is not running any hex perks. So yeah, depending on your point of view on totems. Gens might be the only thing survivors truly need to focus on. So if there is a issue with the speed of how quickly survivors get their objectives done, in the interest of debate, we will say there is for now.
Well it seems like the case of having one and only one objective might be the thing. That or well another possible factor might be how rng things can be. Like how you can play on the same map but get massively different gen spawns, one might have them all spread out and in the next match, they might all be close and bundle together. That or how sometimes the fun bus, has the side window open and other times it doesn't. Which can make a loop stronger or weaker, depending on if a window is open or not. Since sometimes rng, can favor one side or the other.

As Otz himself points out: One gen getting done isn't the end of the world. If killers would stop acting like it was, then they'd probably have a better time. The game's not over until the survivors are either dead, or out the exit gate or hatch.
Here's why this isn't unbalanced:
The survivors sacrificed efficiency to get ONE gen done really fast. They used their BNP's to get a gen done in roughly 17 seconds. And yeah, that sounds crazy fast. And it is. But it's also one generator out of five. The first gen is the easiest to complete. If they save their BNP's until later in the game, they risk being killed before it gets down to 1 generator. After that one gen is done, they aren't able to complete other gens at the same rate, or similar rates. They've used up their BNP.
Yes, Otz is crazy good at the game. I wouldn't want to take anything away from him. But if you're a red rank PC killer you could probably get a 3K-4K in the same scenario as long as you don't give up and act like you're defeated because one gen popped really fast. Not as fast as Otz, but you'd still probably get there.
That's not to say there don't need to be some tweaks to gen speeds. But this video doesn't illustrate the problem with them. It's not a problem when one gen pops REALLY FAST. It's when FOUR gens pop really fast because the killer can't exert pressure on enough survivors at the same time due to a bad start. But -- rather than making gen times longer, devs are looking into a "Trial Warmup" which could help killers get off to a better start, and therefore make gen times more bearable and allow killers to have more natural early game pressure, which is precisely what's needed.
Well said good sir, well said.

Yet he still got a 4k out of it. You´re just proving my point. I don´t get how so many people are complaining about something that pretty much never happens. Yes if it happens it is op, that is why it´s a ultra rare addon, same as the irihead and other ultra rare addons some killers have.
So your point is, it ultra rare and so it's ok to be overpowered?
Ghostface ultra rare add on "ghostface caught on tape" boosts lean stalk speed but at the cost of making non lean stalk speed slower. Or to give numbers. -1 second for lend stalk speed and plus 0.75 seconds for non lean stalk speed. Which can backfire and make it harder for ghostface to 99% someone or triggering the expose effect, when you didn't want it to go off. That and it does have a downside, of negatively effecting ghostface when not leaning while stalking. Ghostface would be better off using one of the recovery add ons, like chewed pen or address book. Ghostface best add ons, are green and below in terms of rarity. Now ghostface other ultra rare add on, is "outdoor security camera", when ever you down a expose aka marked survivor, you get a bbq effect of seeing survivors, who are not in your terror radius for 4 seconds. Which is ok but again the issue is, you would have to give up a recovery add on, to take one of these ultra rares. Which in the case of the camera, you could just run bbq to get the same effect and just take a recovery add on. Both of these ultra rare add ons for ghostface, have a negative downside to them or makes the ghostface have to work to earn the effect. Why are the recovery adds on the best for ghostface? It allows him to us his power more often, be it for sneaking around and getting in close for a stab or simply to stalk and mark survivors with his ability, for a one hit down.
Oni ultra rare add on of iridescent family chest, when using your power and missing with a demon strike, all survivors with in 12 metres of you scream. Which is bloody awful, for if you are using your power as Oni, odds are, the survivor is already right next to you. Two perks that are rather common on Oni, are monitor and abuse and Fright. Which Monitor makes it easier for Oni to get that first hit, thanks to reduce terror radius. While helping to find survivors with Fright, when he downs someone, thanks to a boosted terror radius while in a chase. Making Oni ultra rare add on pointless, when you can take two perks that will not only work better but benefit the Oni more than this ultra rare add on. Which the bloody glove, Oni other ultra rare add on the bloody glove, you have to run a very certain build to make good use of it. The all seeing Oni build. Otherwise, you have to not use your power to make use of this add on, since blood orbs fade away while Oni is demon mode, the blood orbs only return after Oni comes out of his power. Which Oni power grants him speed and one hit downs. Which is why the best add on for a normal Oni build, are the Topknot, which allows a oni to use demon dash faster and the add ons that allow him to stay in bloody fury longer, both of which are not ultra rare add ons. So your whole point it's a ultra rare add on, so it broken or must be overpowered and that fine. Falls apart the minute we look at other killers ultra rare add ons, that are not huntress. I'm sorry but not all ultra rare are made equal as you seem to think they are.

Oh my god I agree. Gen speeds are ridiculous. Even with an ebony mori AND irihead hatchets they still got ONE WHOLE GEN done. How unbelievable is that?? And look at that stupid matchmaking!! How are you supposed to kill a red rank and almost red rank before even one gen gets done?? Killers should without addons and perks ALWAYS be able to kill all survs before they get the first gen done!!
A fair few people would say Moris and irlhead is not balance. While the match in question, did not have any of these add ons or offering in play. Simply a trapper bag and one that make setting his traps down faster. Nothing that would be akin to a one shot hatch or mori. Otz had to get the normal three hooks to kill off a survivor, survivors could still free themselves from a trap or get help from someone else and escape it before the trapper could get to them. Ozt still has to use his power the way any other trapper would. The bag and other add on, simply made setting up his traps easier. Setting up his traps like any other Trapper would. They didn't remove a hook state from a survivor or grant him range one shot attacks. So how does a mori, which was not used in this match, matter at all?

I do agree with you, the thing is that 4 seconds seeing a survivor is good but with most killers it won't matter, bbq is strong with killers like oni, huntress, nurse, maybe spirit with speed addons, billy and I think that's it (my brain is toasted at the moment "5:13 a.m") but seeing a survivor for 4 seconds give a killer a chance of knowing where to go, some of us don't have 7k hours on this game to develop some godly gaming sense, so bbq helps not camp and going for the next chase that is what people don't seem to realize, yeah there are a lot of campers etc that use it but that is a different topic.
Even if bbq got nerfed by removing the aura of the survivors I would still use it, I use wglf when I play survivor just because I love bp.
But you really did covered up a lot of things and I agree with you.
Yeah, i love me some blood points as well. Which is why i do love running we're gonna live forever, when playing survivor, since i normally can't think of anything good for that fourth slot, i wanna run. Of course i would rather buff up we're gonna live forever. Which i believe the devs were going to do. I will have to double check on that later, just to make sure. So take it with a gain of salt for now. Yet if bbq was nerf to only being a blood point bonus. Well i would still use it, in a blood point farming build.
Which yeah i agree with your points, on bbq being useful and helping to promote getting into the next chase and not camping. Which is why i question the people wanting to nerf it or remove that ability from it. Since it like, why not make we're gonna live forever more like bbq and give it a secondary effect, rather than making bbq more like we're gonna live forever. That way, rather than dragging everyone down into the mud, we are building them up.

DS is even easier to counter, a lot of times it never gets used and it doesn't give any extra bloodpoints. If BBQ is unlimited uses, distortion should be too.
Ds makes you the obsession when it goes off. If you die as the obsession or escape, you get blood points for being the obsession. I think it 1000 for dying as the obsession and 1500 points for escaping as the obsession. So that is possibly a few more points for you, if you were not already the obsession and no other ds goes off and the killer is not running something like Nemesis. So while it might not always grant you more points, it can possibly grant you more points. Depending on how the game goes.

And I bet it wouldn't. Especially because there's 4 times more survivors than killers.
Yeah i would agree with you, that buffing distortion to endless uses would nerf the tracking ability of not just bbq but other perks into the ground. Heck buffing distortion to endless uses, would not just counter bbq but any aura reading perk. Ghostface's perk, i'm all ears. Well that thrown out the window and made a worthless perk to any survivor that is using distortion. Ghostface ultra rare add on, security camera becomes worthless, woot, even more reason not to use anything beside the recovery add ons. Oni bloody glove ultra rare add on, becomes worthless vs this survivor. Not only that but if distortion had endless uses. Oh my lord. That would be to powerful. Object of obsession, you could always see the killer and they could never see you. You would be unaware anyone is running object of obsession until it's to late. So in a game of a 4 vs one, the group of 4 can always have perfect information as to where the killer is at all times. It was already bad enough when object of obsession used to work on sneaky killers like ghostface. Now buffing distortion to endless uses and combine that with object. Would easiest become one of the most broken, unbalance things to exist in the game currently. Bbq, killer has to work to earn that information. Object of obsession with endless distortion, a survivor gets perfect information, just for merely existing and not having to do jack to earn it.

This ^ I can't agree with you more, BBQ op lmfao I feel like we aren't playing the same game.
You give 8 examples of how to counter BBQ but BBQ is "Godly" smh.
I feel like those that say that BBQ is op just don't know how to loop and are just doing gens, not even trying to learn how to loop.
I love using BBQ with trapper, I guess according to the complainer BBQ helps me a lot with him, a set up killer....
Yeah the funny thing about bbq is op and two powerful is. It's a 4 vs one game. The killer can only bring in four perks. Survivors can each bring in 4 perks of their own, leading to a total of 16 perks for survivors vs four killer perks. Even if they were right about bbq being a god tier perk, that doesn't mean it needs to be nerf. It would only make sense the perks a killer would bring into the game, would be stronger than the perks the survivors can bring in. Since the killer is one single person, going up against a team of people. A killer or the one player, is going to need some sort of edge or benefit over the team of four, to stand a chance and not get destroy each and every time.
-
@Rydog Yeah that why i have a hard time telling others to pick up the game. If you want to try and do more than one or two builds. You are going have to spend millions upon millions of blood points, just to earn all of that. That or hey, want to unlock some new perks to try out and play around with? Spend a million or so blood points to unlock them, than spend even more to get it on a character of your choice. Along with possibly having to deal with perks in your blood web, you are simply not interested in but will show up anyway, just so rng can make you take even longer to get said perks and spend even more blood points, trying to get them.

Here is a rather good guide on Oni. Yeah Oni is weak early in game, until he gets that hit on a survivor. or if the survivors do something dumb and let Oni get two early hits, which hahahaha, muahahhaa, fun times ahead. Once Oni gets his power, he can snowball really fast, due to one shots and speed. Which helps to make Oni a rather strong killer.

Thats applying pressure to as many ppl as possible. If a killer chases 1 guy while allowing the rest to regroup and heal up...he's only pressuring 1 person and the other 3 are free to be on gens. If the killer swaps targets and gets a hit like in your example... There's probably gonna be a hook trade if an unhook takes place, the fresh unhooked guy has to find someone to heal him because he doesnt have a teammate/time to heal up under hook AND the guy being initially chased also has to go off and heal. A killer's gameplay revolves around keeping as many survivors busy, and therefore off gens for as long as possible.
Yeah learning when to drop chases, how to jiggle between targets, is rather common killer advice.
Since blindly chasing after one survivor above and beyond any logically reasoning, aka tunnel vision. Often leads to losing the game. Like in this video below.

We had a similar scenario yesterday. Basement Bubba with insidious (and third seal?!) hooked someone in the basement as the end of the game. We ran out which was smart and made him depip. Everyone needs to understand what to do in this scenario:
- Hooked Survivor: Don't attempt escape and struggle.
- Other Survivors: RUSH GENS!
Also I like to punish all facecamping Bubba's since they are playing him wrong. If you need to facecamp as him then you don't deserve to wear his mask..
Yeah, any bubba who plays the game normally and doesn't face camp. They have my respect. For everyone gets to play the game and earn some blood points.
Which yeah, survivors need to learn what to do against a face camping bubba. Which is do what you said. Rush gens or for the hooked person, buy as much time as possible for your team mates. Since at this point, it not about your own personal gain or pip, it's about denying the killer as many points and kills as possible.
-

This was playing smart. He will depip as long as he only got those two hooks.
Trying to save takes good coordination but if you don't play it right then that's your fault. Just rush the gens (especially against incorrectly played Bubba) and you'll force them to depip.
yeah i was glad two people made it out. Since the last time i face a bubba that was face camping. The team was smart until they try to save me at the end. Which just lead to a 4k for the bubba. Thankfully this time, people escaped and deny the bubba as many blood points as possible.
-
Here is a team that played smart vs a face camping bubba. They focus on the gens. even with noed, the killer only got 2k and only 11k points. While the survivors who escaped and were not bubba victims, got far more.
-
I don't see how this is a nerf to Freddy. When Freddy is far from the only killer that uses pop plus bbq. Since it used on Oni as well. With it being even a build recommended by Otz.

Once a survivor is expose by ghostface, the little red circle around the survivor, everyone ghostface and survivor alike, can see the timer ticking down, until the expose effect ends.

please, I’ve unhooked teammates with well make it and had them ignore me to self care

Its still dumb how they insist on Selfcaring when I am practically begging to heal them.
True. Since by using self caring in that way, they are just putting themselves in danger for longer with way more risk of the killer showing up. When they don't need to, when a team mate is right next to them.
-

Hey at least they remain next to a gen. Seen others that will run away from their team mates and run all the way to the other side of the map, just to self care.

Reminds me of a match I had yesterday (even though it was a different scenario).
A Wraith started snowballing like an instasaw Hillbilly during the first few seconds of the game. 2 survivors down, 3rd survivor starts hiding.
I was literally just starting to work on the first gen. First survivor kills themselves on hook immediately, second one goes into struggle, third survivor was still hiding in lockers (I had bond and didn't see the aura of the 3rd survivor during my entire chase).
I was on the other side of the map and wondered why they were doing this. Why even play the game if you're basically planning to screw over the team before the match has even started?
Luckily the killer had BBQ so he went for me on the other side of the map and... Well... You would expect the hiding survivor to unhook the other survivor while I was getting chased right? WRONG. Instead the survivor (a Laurie Strode) let the other survivor die on their first hook AND decided not to repair gens.
I ended up getting chased for over 4 full minutes in 1 single chase. Killer still got a 4k at 5 gens. Turns out the last survivor wanted a hatch escape and blamed everyone else including me.
Like what was I supposed to do? Unhook the person on the other side of the map while getting chased? Was I supposed to repair all gens by myself while getting chased?
I recorded the chase and the clip starts exactly when the survivor dies on their first hook. Maybe I should upload it to make several points one being the fact that rank doesn't mean anything on both sides (the killer was a rank 2 and still needed more than 4 minutes to down me like a rank 20 killer) and the other point being that people eventually play in a SWF team for a reason.
Not because they want to bully killers but because it's like the only chance to consistently have fun matches as survivor. At least that's what I think.
That's why I don't even dodge people that look like SWF teams. I get it. They want a fun match without brainless potatoes who think of the hatch at 5 gens.
Reminds me of a game i had awhile ago, i forget what the ranks were. Only the person hiding in the locker was a Dwight.
Two people hook in basement. Killer after me, leading them half way across the map. More than enough time surely for my team mate to get to the basement and unhook the other two, right right? Surely they must of notice i took a hit and are on their way there? Nope. They were hiding in a locker, until i got down. They only came out of the locker , once i was down. Needless to say that game did not go well.
Which another game which had to do with someone jumping into lockers. A Jane. They were a rank 2. They kept jumping into a locker over and over again. Unhook them, heal them up. Into a locker they would go. Only me and the Laurie were i do believe the only two survivors who did any gens. The third one, i think they were trying to help the Jane but kept getting screwed over by the Jane. I don't think they even had head on. Rather just trying to annoy the killer or screw over the team, seem the most likely two cases. Needless to say, the game did not go well. Like the only good thing that came out of that game, was a few decent blood points, due to running we're gonna live forever.
Yeah with all the cases of survivors that somehow made it to super high ranks and seem to not have even a basic understanding of what they are doing. It understandable why someone would rather play with friends, than solo. Since at least you know how bad or good your friends are. If they don't just go and play some killer, since hey, at least as killer you don't have to worry about your team mates screwing you over.

Those matches with perfect synergy are the reason I keep playing survivor. Solo survivor gameplay can be a lot of fun when everyone is pulling their weights.
However for the past 2 days I have been repeatedly getting complete loser teams consisting of "fake red ranks" as I call them now - that basically only play for the fun of the killer based on their stupid decisions and crazy bad chase performance.
They won't touch a gen, they won't distract the killer even if someone else is injured AND on death hook, they won't unhook in time OR TOO EARLY (before the killer even had a chance to leave the hook) and they consistently go down in 10-20 seconds from the healthy state.
I just can't take this stupidity anymore. Today they seriously managed to make me rage quit and switch to another game (Borderlands 3).
No DC penalty in the world can force me to play with people who are seemingly trying to play with their buttcheeks!
I had someone kill themselves on hook, after getting hook for their first time. Said person in question, stuck around until post game chat, just to say bad game. Like they screwed over their team. Than stuck around just to say bad game at the end. Like i have to question their logic. Maybe the game would of been a good one, if they didn't screw over their team by killing themselves so quickly, they got only 2k points. Solo survivor can be "fun" at times.

Yeah solo survivor which i play all the time as survivor. Is basically a coin flip, if match making is working correctly. If you will get team mates that are useful or just pure dead weight. Had a game recently, which had two megs. One of them kept moving around in a circle for some reason near a gen and seem scare to death, to so much as touch the gen. I forget if that meg had med kit or a toolbox. It took them until a gen was almost finish until they join in. They were also red rank. Me and the Yui, were the only two survivors to get above 10k points. The other two aka the megs were like 6k or below. They when down super fast and easy to the killer.

I'm not trying to ruin anybody's party. I just really don't feel like it's a worthwhile product. But when the fun goes away people are gonna just not touch him and then we have another killer that nobody touches. Wraith is fun every once in a while but that doesn't mean people are going to play him solely for that fact. What I want is a product that is usable on a regular basis, not relying on whenever the other side plays badly or not. Buy it if you want but this post is more of a warning to the community that if these things aren't fixed you're wasting your money and time on a short term investment. You might as well buy some cheap booze if you really want to have something fun for a little bit.
Yeah from reading your opening post. I don't get what the others are saying about you trying to bad mouth or ruin the experience for others. Rather i think it healthy, to have a wide view point on the new dlc. That way if people are interested in learning more about it, well they got positives, negatives. Get to see what a large group of people have to say about it and then get to make up their own mind if the dlc is worth it or not.

It happens so much.
I find a lot of games against SWF ends with them all slugged on the ground, because for some reason running at the killer whilst you’re injured seems to be the better play than going off and healing / regrouping. I actually find those matches boring as it’s like they are purposely making it easy for you, just flocking around the hook injured.
Yeah, i lost count of how many games both as killer and survivor, i seen where everything just goes down hill for the survivors. Due to not knowing when to cut their losses or just making questionable choices that makes me wonder if they are throwing the game willingly or simply didn't think things through, often happens when someone gets hooked or picked up. Where a easy three or four man escape, just ends up with everyone dead. or mostly everyone. That or seem to forget the killer they are facing, when they need to make the save. Like ah yes, a Myers. Great idea to unhook in front of him, that is not going to lead to him building up tier 3 and turn it into a hook trade if not two people down. Yes great idea to try and bodyblock while the Myers is still in tier three.

I don’t use it as a survivor because like you said, it’s a waste of a perk slot. I’m only hit with it as a killer when I want to be hit with it (such as pulling somebody out of a locker early in a game to make them waste it) but other than that, it doesn’t really bother me at all.
It’s mostly the potatoes that go into games completely armed with every single second chance perk because they feel like they need them. Recently I got a 3K and the girl that escaped wasn’t running a single perk. She escaped because she was actually good at being evasive. I’m not sure about everybody else but I find when I go against an entire team of rank 1’s they seem to give up the game a lot by being too altruistic. They spend most of the game chasing after you chasing their friends than they do working on generators. Which is great for me. Keep up the good work.
Being too altruistic i find, screws over alot of survivor teams. Seen it with green, purple and red ranks. Be it swarming the hook or gathering up when the killer is legion. That or body blocking, for a guy that got down right next to a hook. Leading to them all being injured or simply trading one hook for two.

I've knocked out all the survivor challenges so far, now I've got a few Killer challenges left on 2 and all the ones on 3. At level 39 now, should be maybe 46-48 when I'm done with all these. No clue how much people must play to be hitting 70 already, that just seems insane to me.
Also, really disliking how many of these killer challenges are "Hook X different survivors" and "Chase X different survivors." It just limits your maximum progress in a match to 4, which is really obnoxious when the challenge asks for 15-20 of them. I would assume that they want to not encourage tunneling... but then you've got the "Darkly Obsessed" challenge which basically asks you to tunnel the obsession for 5 rounds.
I got darkly obsessed done by running furtive chase. Got 7 hooks from a single game due to it. Not sure if running Nemesis would be better for the challenge but hey. This challenge is most likely the only or one of the very few reasons why anyone would run furtive chase.

Not reportable. I've left my fair share of team mates to die, ether because I thought someone else would get them or because I felt getting this gen done was more important.
Yeah, context can be important when it comes to leaving a team mate behind or to die. Since sometime, it just better to go get the heck out of dodge and take the three man escape, rather than risk it all and have everyone dead on the floor.

Why spine chill is a godlike perk.
Great for a early warning and vaulting speed.

Play as:
Huntress and Nurse—Too hard and frustrating to learn, and ultimately not worth it.
Trapper—His traps don't exist.
Clown—His bottles don't do anything.
Myers—105 Killer who gets cucked by Spine Chill.
Hag—Confusing.
Play against:
Ghostface—No one stalks with him, they just equip Sloppy with double cooldown addons and play Tru3face. W key warriors with no red stain.
Wraith—For some reason, I just can't see his shimmering. Even if he's right there and I'm looking straight at him, I can't see him. And believe it or not, I actually like using my eyes to visually sense my opponent in video games, especially when they're both silent and fast. Also, most Wraiths are sweatier than a man trapped in a burning building.
Spirit—Can't tell where she is. While she moves almost twice as fast me. And can figure out exactly where I am by having ears.
Deathslinger—He looks at you and you're dead. Reacting to your opponent by pulling out a gun does not belong in a predictive, melee-based game.
Hag—Bad Hags are insanely easy to loop and very boring to get perma-camped by. Good Hags are living proof that this Killer is completely broken.
The funny thing is, everytime i come across ghostface. Often the the first way the whole group figures out it's a ghostface, is due to the expose effect.

Personally, if I am playing Solo, I will cleanse. Just to save my own skin.
Something that I noticed most Plagues I've played against do however is that they tend to puke on Survivors despite already being broken, so maybe not cleansing is the way to go. Since most people who play her don't actually know how to play her.
It is funny as heck, seeing a plague try to puke on someone with No mither.

Most people i seen in game are fine with pig. Of course you do get the memers, some who play normal and than finally the people who so badly want to see a head pop, they will focus purely on a single unlucky person.
Of course the whole camping ghostface thing, i have never really seen before in game, unlike the tunneling piggy. That and why the heck would anyone use ghostface for camping, when Bubba exists and can't be broken out of their power by someone merely looking at them. Anywho. It most likely these folk simply hate the pig beyond any logical reason or had bad past experience with the pig and think all pigs act like that. Even if they didn't do anything wrong and simply go oh i hate the pig or this pig did something wrong, so they look for anything to take issue with, just to throw shade at someone playing pig.

The Bubba game was great, because while one survivor was going off on me...one of their own teammates told em to STFU. Pretty sure I ended up friending that guy.
That just makes the story even better.

And as a quick additional note, I know when to admit that I am not playing well against a killer. But the fact that I still generally lose no matter how well I play against a Freddy is very discouraging. Unless the Freddy isn't good at applying pressure or I manage to get a solo team that's very competent (which isn't the case a good amount of times), I am basically going into the match believing I won't escape.
Yeah solo survivor is like a coin flip. You might get good team mates or boosted animals. Which with how broken matchmaking is. Hopefully the new system, will be much better.

I've seen the "boring" excuse get brought up for several killers after I steamroll a team with them. Alot of people said it when I was playing and practicing Deathslinger, I've had ppl say it against Bubba (told me to use a killer that takes skill after I 4ked the team with only 1 gen done. Multiple hooks in each), Ive had ppl say I was using boring perks on my Legion since I used slowdown perks even though the game itself was under 10 minutes.
Sounds like these teams were salty they lost. Which reminds me of a game i was in as a survivor not long ago. Where the Oni player did very well and basically snowball, leading to a short and quick match. One survivor basically threw every bad word in the book against the killer. Like the more you saw this person speak, the more clear it was, they had very little understanding about Oni as a killer. Like i had to side with and defend the killer. Due to the nonsense one survivor was throwing at the killer, who won fair and square. For somehow this single survivor could not understand, why a Oni might slug.

Just this honestly, it gets tiring having to grind for BBQ everytime you prestige a character. Even just having Rank 1 on BBQ would be nice and it would help a lot with the grind when I play Killers I have fun playing, but I play intermittently because they don't have BBQ.
Heck if you kept level one of all the perks you currently unlocked. Would be sweet, not just for bbq but to keep on playing the characters with a build i know works well on them, while i'm in the middle of earning blood points to fully prestige them. Rather than just praying to the rng gods, i can get some perks that might be useful or could maybe turn into something that is a workable build on x character and not just pure trash.

He's not wrong though.
Yeah i bring up the thread, just to show. That yeah, you sometimes see the reasoning something is boring and that why it needs to be change brought up. Which is not the best reasoning, since one person can find something boring and another person find it fun. Now it being overpowered, broken or something else along these lines. Now that reasoning would be far more reasonable. Since it making the point of view from a balance stand point. Which could be easier to make a case for why something should or should not be changed. Since one can always collect data or show how broken or overpowered something is. By say linking to a video to show off how good a combo is. Record themselves using said things. Like say old legion and certain add ons.

I don't think the base premise of "Saying boring is an excuse" even makes sense. An excuse for what? Losing? You can win and still be extremely bored. If you're bored, you're bored.
Here is a thread from not long ago. The opening post in the thread i'm linking to, wants to nerf Freddy due to finding them boring as part of their reasoning and always seeing Freddy after Freddy using the same meta build.

Personally I hate OoO especially when I feel like playing trapper or before the nerf when I used ghostface, if you are playing solo then I think it's fine but if you are 4 man then I consider it toxic because the killer will have no counter other than tunnel you or camp you to death, you can also ignore the OoO but it gets on my nerves when I see the survivor just doing gens far away and looking at me.
Now i had flash backs of ptb Ghostface. A killer who is meant to be sneaky, can be counter by any detection perk like object, spinning your camera around like a mad man. Barely looking at him. Being on the same map as ghostface or simply following him around. Yes a true "stealth killer" he was. Stalk that would fade away over time, short as heck expose time. That nerf to object was needed. For it like, what the point of a stealth killer, if you can get pin point information on where they are, any time you please?

I’m getting cheated out of far too many grabs as of late. The ol’ “freeze briefly, than magically turns into a missed attack animation”
Had that happen as a trapper recently. Shows animation for grab, magical freeze and suddenly, nope.
Which yeah it things like that, which can make getting the challenge done without farming, lovely.

That's what's so backwards about this.
People like Lalythia talk a big game about "The Golden Rule" and "Treat them like real humans" and "show some consideration"...but then what do they do here? Fling insults and pass judgment on others for playing a video game in the manner that it's designed to be played.
It's so weird to read. They really, genuinely seem to believe that they have some moral high ground.
It's over Anakin i have the high ground!
To be more serious. Which yeah Lal has in the past promoted being spicy as they put it, towards killers if they do something that is deem as being disapproval of.
Which slugging, some people like to label bad. Yet there is many different cases of slugging. Oni picks someone up on Fright, goes after them and downs them, to get two people down with their power rather than one. Which this case of Oni, would be different than a DeathSlinger running knock out, deerstalker, the blind hex and one other perk, creating a build purely around slugging and waiting for people to bleed out on the floor. That or hey, a killer leaves someone on the ground to look around first before picking them up, to ensure no one with a flash light or waiting for a pallet stun is nearby. That or to bring up Ozt, when he was trying out a build on ghostface. Yeah he got his rear handed to him a few times, testing out the build and even pointing out, you need to know when to slug and when not to, while using this build. Since it can backfire royally on you. So no matter the case or why the killer was doing it, it disapproval of and so time to treat them like dirt for using a tactic that might of not even worked and just backfire on their rear.
That and heck on this forum alone, you can find people with massively different meanings of the word tunneling. Making it something people can't seem to agree on. So it really kind of funny, how quickly the golden rule and treating other people like humans, gets thrown out the window, the minute they do something that is label as questionable or disapproval of. Even when said thing is merely to help them win and not insult the other player. For context offer gets thrown straight out the window, when terms like slugging are brought up.

I think anyone who plays this game at a high level understands why slugging can be an effective tactic if used correctly, but also detrimental for the Killer if they just randomly slug all game. Same with camping, if used sparingly and used in a way that's smart, it can turn the tide of the match really fast but if the Killer wastes too much time slugging, the team can just heal their teammates back up and you lose a hook state you normally would've gotten if you just went and hooked them.
Being Downed is the same as being "hooked" to me, and you only lose a hook state if the Killer decides to hook you. You've lost the chase, and now you're incapacitated as a result. That's what being downed means.
There's nothing cheap at using tactics that works. You know what's cheap? Using add-on combos that are actually broken like Iridescent Head + Infantry Belt, or Mother-Daughter Ring + Yakuyoke Amulet. They can make the game for the Killer absurdly easy, same with the combo of Decisive Strike + Unbreakable, there's only so many ways the Killer can counter that. Either by picking them up and having the Survivors use their DS, or camping them for 60 seconds which is something you do NOT want to do as a Killer.
As long as it is within the boundaries of the game, you're allowed to do as you please. The objective is merely to Kill the Survivors, and as a Killer, you have to use everything at your disposal. Do you think I find it fun to go against Trapper multiple games in a row? No, I don't. I think his traps are BS, I don't like finding myself downed just because the Trapper accurately predicted where I was going to go ages before I go there. Do I complain about him, saying he is unfair to players like me who play the game for the chase? Hell no.
Complaining about Killers doing what Killers do to win is why the community makes fun of the "Survivors Rulebook for Killers". The only "Golden Rule" that anyone has to follow is the one designed by the developers, and if to them, the tactics I've mentioned is fine, then it is fine. It's just another way for the Killer to get closer to winning the game while risking something in return (Not earning a hook state on a survivor they downed).
This has nothing to do with "Skill", because like I said, DBD is a casual game to it's core, but because of that, anyone who plays competitively can be seen as doing something "unfair" to people like you. Because the Killer can always do something, while as a Survivor, you will have downtime where you got nothing to do but wait because you failed at the chase.
I'm sure you think someone like Otz is a horrible person too then for using builds that helps him get hilarious results that may not even be fun for the Survivors? Or builds that gives the Killer the strongest chance possible at winning?
But hey, keep thinking playing optimally is toxic ;)
Yeah i recall Ozt having a video about spirit not long ago, where he used the ring plus amulet combo on Spirit, just to show off how powerful and deadly it is. At the end of the video, he even when that he was glad someone escaped.
That and using noed, to see what the results would be, when combine with a face camping bubba. One perk that has well alot of well debate around it. Yet Ozt is one of the nicest dudes around. Even wanted to get some steamers from a blood web, in hopes of giving the poor unlucky survivors a few blood points at least, for having to suffer through it. For he merely wanted to see how powerful these things combine were. So he could get some data and information on it. Rather than just blindly going, x is bad or overpowered for reasons. No he can show video proof of how strong or powerful something is by showing his results by testing it out.
-
Well survivors are about to get a perk, which might be helpful in counting ruin or pop. Which will protect a gen for 30 seconds. I don't think nerfing pop would be a good idea, when survivors are about to get a perk like that, since we have no idea how massively that might effect things. Which bbq tracking part of the perk, has a number of counters already. Hiding behind a gen, hiding in a locker like a Dwight. Going one way for a few seconds and than double back to go the other way. Bbq is fine as is.
That and any nerf you would make to these perks, would effect your standard 115% movement speed killer the most. That and if you were to remove tracking from bbq, you would simply have more people use something thrilling tremors to replace it.

This is still very tame, not close to the real console experience, so far with my pc experience I have never gotten actual hate, just the classic "camper" when all gens are done and I have nowhere to go even though I saw 3 survivors near the hook.
Console takes a big chunk of the cake if you ask me, this is nothing yet
Yeah i seen the classic camper for guarding the gens once while playing on the pc myself. Funny enough, every other group after that. Seem to understand, a killer is meant to keep them from doing the gens.

Do people really consider this “not losing?” I mean you lost, I guess you screw the killer out of a few BPs and maybe keep them from pipping but isn’t that cutting off your nose to spite your face?
Well i'm not sure how dcing willingly and not due to a game crash or some other thing could be seen as avoiding a lost. Since well, you have to agree to giving up and that you lost the match by choosing to dc. It is the message that pops up when one goes to dc. As can be seen when someone like Ozt did it for a gag once, after someone escape off the hook while using monsterous shrine. So it seems like you would need a very interesting mind set, for the game to tell you, by doing this you lose and still someone think you didn't.

So is sloppy meta? I guess I've never actually figured that out, and why. It's just an annoying perk that is unnecessary in any build without nurses. And i see it a lot without nurses.
Well on a ghostface, everything he does to kill or injure survivors is a mouse one attack. Stalk someone than go in for the stab? M1. Sneak in close to get a hit? M1. Which sloppy gives ghostface m1 attack an addition effect, which can help slow down the game, just a little bit, by making survivors waste more time on healing. That and a standard build will have him running whispers or nurse's [along side corrupt or pop and bbq], depending on which one they like more for tracking. Whispers lets you know they are in the general area and you can listen for them healing, to find them that way or nurse's if you want pin point information.
Basically no matter what a ghostface does, he will be applying sloppy to the survivors all the time and helping to slow down the game, just a little bit.
-
I seen people kill themselves on first hook or dc, vs basically every killer under the sun, for some unknown reason. Since by the time the game comes to an end, they are normally long gone. So no idea why they did it. Can only guess as to what their reason was. So no, i don't think it has much to do with the plague but rather just coming across a few survivors who felt the desire or need to do that for one reason or another.
-
Since you are running ruin op, i take it you might be looking for something to deal with gens? Here is a build that has been proven to work on ghostface, if you want to focus more on gen control. Surge, pop, surveillance, bbq. Which here is a video of it being put to into action. So you can get an idea of what the build is like.
