Well if this idea gets put in, going with the idea for now for the shake of debate it is put in and this becomes the new system for moris. Well not a single other offering would do this. Using a game offering or other map offering to get a map that favors the killer you play or allows you to make great use of balance landing, rank is not effected at all. So it might lead to some confusion, if there is no warning to it. So you would need to add a warning, if you use this offering you won't be able to rank up but you will still earn blood points at the end of the match. That way it would avoid any confuse with basically every other offering that does not have the same effect.

People are “toxic” because it’s fun. That’s it. It’s almost a maturity thing but even then it’s fun to let go of rules.
Also, imo there are no sins in EGC. Face camp, proxy, slug, whatever. Anyone who plays killer should be empathetic. Anyone who makes any accusations about something in EGC is just inexperienced.
Yeah alot of in fighting between survivors or salt, normally happens due to events that took place during the end game. Yes failure to save a hook survivor, leading a 3 man escape turning into a 2 man. Than one survivor shouting at another survivor due to their team mate not having magical mind reading powers and just knowing where everyone is without any perks like bond.

Exactly, my last game I was told to go find a rope and hang yourself. I have thick skins so its not like my feelings are hurt. I am just trying to understand why the toxic behavior. Are these people like this in real life? Can you imagine not getting your way or if one little thing goes wrong and just turning into a hateful child lol.
Well some people most likely do it, due to well it's the internet. No one knows who they are on the internet. So they can let off their mask, the persona they put forth in day to day life and show who they really are. Since they suffer no real negative backlash to their own real personal life and well, sometimes people seem to forget on the other side of the screen is another person. That and sometimes pvp games just simply bring out the worst in people. Since the best way to see someone true colors, is to give them total freedom to do as they please, which is a effect that some have when using the internet, believe they have total freedom to do as they please without a care in the way and well that leads to showing their true colors.

Yeah sometimes you get teammates that just make you question, who really is the killer here? Your teammates or the guy with the knife?

No, I don't expect you to. Seeing as you're defending someone who accuses the Killer of Slugging and Tunneling when they didn't do that in the first place. I would show you the VOD the streamer put up but that would go against the forum rules.
But I assure you, the reason this happened was because the streamer themselves unhooked without Borrowed Time thinking he is safe when he isn't. He only had himself to blame.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VETZ9RAPN6B6/381210-20200517222024-1-copy.png
If you're not willing to actually have a conversation though, and just say you won't believe anything I say, then I believe our conversation is over.
Yeah some people just seem to wanna think the worst of people who play killer or think a killer can't be a nice person. Like in most cases, slugging is not really that bad. Oh hey the killer left me on the ground. Now a team mate can get me up while they chase after someone else. That or after the killer chases off the other survivor or downs them, they will come back straight for you and pick you up. If a team mate didn't get to you first. Rarely from what i played, does it end up like the Deathslinger case on the swamp. Which yeah in my case as well, it was a deathslinger on the swamp with a slugging build.
Most would rather hook you, rather than leave you on the floor to die. That and sometimes there is that sound bug, of someone making no noise, even while they are on the floor. So it possible the killer might of not found them in time, if they were the last one. Heck almost had it happen to me in a recent trapper game. The survivor crawl off and their bar was almost gone by the time i found them. I let them go and open the gate. For i just like letting the last person, if a game goes very well for me. For i honestly had no idea where they crawled off to, for i was not running whispers. For i like playing ghostface, maybe not the best killer for every map. Curse you corn curse you. Yet hey it's fun sneaking around and being spooky and getting them bbq stacks. For at the end of the day, it's a video game and everyone is trying to have fun. Which is why when the post game chat comes, i normally do gg and often follow it up with good luck and have fun [if someone acts salty than is a different case]. Since most people in game are good folk. That and hey, maybe they will enjoy being wished good luck and hoping they have fun or that was simply the thing they needed to brighten up their day. For sometimes a bit of kindness and sportsmanship goes along way. For if someone a good sport in post game chat, they get a thumbs up form me. For being a good sport, no matter if the game when well or poorly for them.
Since hey at the end of the day, both killer and survivor is just someone playing a video game and trying to have some fun. Since hey, both sides can reach common understanding and enjoy a good old time. Since heck one of my favorite games was as ghostface, where both me and the survivors were just messing around and playing super casual. Even the survivors enjoyed it, like everyone enjoyed it. It was a jolly good old time. Which is a good reason to be a good sport at the end of match, for hey you never know who these random strangers are. They might just become your new buddies down the line or look forward to meeting them again in another match. That or hey maybe this time around your the survivor and they are the killer. Leading to another jolly good old time, just in different roles.
-
Well here a useful video.
https://youtu.be/KH4DhskSbz4?t=747It covers not only how to play ghostface, it talks about how his reveal box works and even tips and tricks for survivors on how to deal with a ghostface. That might be useful, should you come across a ghostface in the fog.

Ah yes, I tunneled because someone did an unsafe unhook in front of me without Borrowed Time.
I slugged because I literally saw another survivor the moment I downed the survivor I was chasing.
I'm soooooooo toxic, guess my opinion is invalid.
You want to know what an actually slugging game is like? It looks like this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/3H0YLENBNER1/381210-20200524101258-1-copy.png
This Deathslinger never hooked anyone until one person died from Bleedout (You can tell because everyone is almost dead from bleedout). Slugging because you saw someone else and decided to chase them to exert pressure on multiple survivors isn't toxic, it's just a smart play.
A slugging deathslinger. I was in a game like that awhile go and it took place on the Swamp as well. I think i was the first one to die from bleed out. Since i spend a majority of my time on the ground. Since the minute i would get back up, down again i would go. Only a single person escaped that game.
Which yeah if someone unhooks in front of the killer without borrowed time. That is the survivor who did the unhooking being a moron. Since if you can get two down survivors, well that is way better than one.
Which slugging and moving onto the other nearby target, sounds like well what playing Oni is like. Aka making the best and logical use of his power.

Jesus Christ, this thread.
You can't dictate that people only DC to not take a loss without knowing any context or logical reason why people may DC, whether unintentionally or intentionally.
You can't just dictate that the only legitimate reasons to DC are reasons that only befit your bias. Some people play this game super seriously. Some people play this game super casually. If I feel the need to DC because something in real life took importance or because the game is performing so badly that it's no longer worth my time.
It's not only because I or anyone else just can't take an L.
Tell me how I should learn from the situation when I'm stuck in a locker and can't get out and the killer can't even attack me so I'm just stuck there, thus unable to play the game properly?
Tell me how I should learn when I have the basement bug and literally can't play the game because I'm just stuck falling through the world permanently on my end, thus unable to play the game properly?
Tell me how I should learn when I'm stuck in a generator or a pallet and am physically unable to move, thus unable to play the game properly?
Tell me how I should learn to play Nurse when my entire power decides not to work and I'm stuck as a 96% M1 killer, thus unable to play the game properly?
Tell me how I should learn to play when I am literally unable to interact with ANYTHING in the match, thus unable to play the game properly?
Tell me how I can learn to hit skill checks better when the UI to show the skill check window never appears?
Tell me how I should learn to play when I am stuck crouched down in the "being healed" position and none of my inputs do anything, thus unable to play the game properly?
Tell me how I should learn when my game is stuck at 2~5 FPS a second, thus unable to play the game properly?
And by the way, people do DC on AFK killers. I know because I've had to go AFK for a time before as killer due to an emergency, only to come back with two people having DCed. Just because you haven't seen it happen does not mean it's impossible or it doesn't happen. It's almost like some people play this game to actually play this game rather than just farm blood points and the rift all day or something. I know. What an insane, outrageous concept. But alas, one that exists. And I'm one of those players, and so if something happens that comes up or causes me unable to actually play the game properly, then yes, I'm going to DC, and wait my 5 minute penalty, because I'm not going to sit in a match for 5~15 minutes where I cannot play.
It's not because I "can't just take the L". It's because I value my time more than sitting there wasting said time, especially in a situation where I'm not any better disconnected than I am stuck disconnected in the game unable to do anything or sitting there AFK.
If you really want people to disconnect less, maybe get on BHVRs ass to actually fix and optimize their game after 4 years so people have less reasons to disconnect so things that make the game actually unplayable don't happen.
Never seen someone before blame the players for the game being spaghetti coding and telling them they should just have to suffer through the game being a broken mess because it hurts someone's feefees that they don't just sit there, unable to play the game properly, but get judged on leaving said broken game, just to entertain you. Maybe instead of people learning to take the L, maybe you should learn some damn empathy.
Which funny enough, we do have video proof of some of the bugs you listed. Thanks to Yerv.

Glad i was able to find this video again. When you go to dc it reads. "Are you sure you want to leave this match? Leaving this match count as a defeat."
So you have to agree that you lost the match when dcing. Agreeing you lost the match, is somehow trying to avoid a lost. So Ozt dcing once, which was most likely for a gag. When he clearly won the game and could of knock the survivors down again and still won. Is him being a coward.

Nothing like that should be considered until we see how they revamp the MM system. If it works, it should be placing player with, and against, players of relatively equal skill. Then, hopefully we won't see seasoned killers abusing potato survivors, or vice versa.

If their framerate tanked, then how could they keep playing? It'd be too difficult to play since they aint used to it, so it's best to leave the match and sort out the issue.
Aside from reasons like that, people who DC are horrible.
Yeah if frame rates are super low. It's doubtful they will be able to properly play. If they are a survivor, might be more akin to a meat shield more than anything else. Which i did come across a survivor, they didn't dc but they were suffering from bad ping. To the point they were unable to really move very well and couldn't even heal themselves with a med kit, due to how bad their ping was. Which well i figure frame rate issues would be the same. Since anyone who has played a video game and suffer frame rate lost, can know just how massively it can effect you, if the frame rates become super low. It can become more of a slideshow, rather than a video game. If the player is the killer suffering from these issues, i don't think the survivors will have much of a challenge. It will be more of a hold m1 at gens for a majority of the game. Where a survivor might be little more than a meat shield and won't be able to do much for their team. That and since people might be unaware of their issues, might end up risking their lives trying to save them from hook or taking protection hits for them, when due to how bad their frame rates are, they are running into walls all the time or keep getting jumped forward or backwards in time.

Last game I played was a lagfest, my internet connection was the same internet connection I've been using for the past couple of months, so I wouldn't have known this would've happened, but I'm pretty sure the people I was playing against did not have a fun time.
Those are the only times I DC, when I ACTUALLY can't play the game and potentially ruin it for everyone. Currently trying to fix the issue right now and I haven't played a game since knowing my Internet could tank at any minute and ruin the game for everyone.
I accept that I lost that match, but do I want to stay in a game where everyone else is not having fun because I as a Killer is experiencing Connectivity issues? No, of course not, they're better off finding another match while I take a break from DBD and fix it for a while. That would be the same if that person's framerate is tanking. They would not be able to actually play the game.
I understand disliking people who DC when they get outplayed or outmatched, because that sort of feeling is understandable and frustrating. Some people just want to play the game, and DCers like that ruin it for everyone. I don't like it myself when people DC in my games, it takes away sacrifice points for me and it can potentially ruin the entire team. I had a Claudette DC on me because I hit het while flashlight blinded. She was your usual cocky Survivor type while I was going for an Adept, which is why I didn't give the other Survivors any mercy (Still working towards that Adept)
Some DCs are warranted, and those who have warranted reasons won't be complaining that they have 24 hours worth of matchmaking bans under their belt. People who actively DC are the ones complaining, and they should be the focus of your iire, not people who actually has valid reasons, no matter how small, to disconnect from the game.
Yeah if someone dcs near the start of the game. Which i seen happen from time to time. I normally give them the benefit of the doubt, that it was due to their connection or something. That or when i see them running in place or seeming to take forever to cleanse a totem. Making me think, yeah that was connection issues right there. Heck sometimes my game crashes, when i was winning the match. It doesn't happen often, just every once in awhile. Which is when i restart my computer and that fixes the crashing issue for some reason. Since i know if i keep playing after getting a crash, the game just has a habit of crashing again on me, until i restart my computer to fix the issue. Than it just smooth sailing for awhile.
That and i think Monto got stuck in a game as wraith not long ago. Due to some bug where the game didn't count a survivors as dead, even when the end game timer reach zero, he was still stuck in the game. He won the game but he was still stuck in it. So he had no other choice but to dc from a game he won. That and there was one video where i recall Ozt dcing, due to the last survivor unhooking themselves in the basement. I think that was for more of gag but i recall the dcing screen, going you admit to losing and that you give up the match. So by dcing, someone has already they admitted they lost the match. So they have already taken the L as the op likes to put it, if they choose to willing dc and it's not due to forces outside their own control.
Which lately, i seen a fair few in game talk about how bad ping has been lately, that it seems to be higher than normal for some reason. So it could be a fair few have been suffering from connection issues or maybe it';s something with the servers. Not really sure.

He's not too hard, it's the fact that you don't need to hold W and can just strafe using A and D that I didn't know. Once I realised that, I mastered turning with him and he was pretty easy after that. You just need to get your head around that and figure out some demon dash mindgames.
Yeah i remember it took me the longest time to learn, i don't have to hold w while using demon dash. I can be a bit of a moron sometimes, when it comes to figuring out things that should be very simple.

I don't think i have ever seen anyone get salty over no add ons. Certain add on yes, certain killers or things someone might of done in a game yes. Certain combos of perks yes. Running no add-ons? I have personally never seen it.

Oni without Fright would be a interesting experience. Since you would be lacking a big source of information to snowball with his power. Due to no perks.
Ghostface, you will be able to really feel just how long 30 seconds is, without any add ons.

This exactly, while most killers don't really need addons, killers like trapper do, not that much but it helps a lot, 2 traps and carrying 2 is better than just 1 and pick around the map, I can't really say for GF since I have never used him without addons, but you are also 100% true with Oni, addons help but not needed, wraith without windstorm just makes me not want to use him at all, too slow for my likings.
I get that people want to keep addons like before but I think right now is on a decent spot, you keep item and lose addons if you escape.
Yeah Ghostface without add on vs with recovery add on, there is a noticable different for his power recovery. With his best recovery add ons, you will be able to get almost double more use out of his power vs if you were playing with simply the base kit.

I take Protection Hits when it helps my TEAM. And not when the Killer picks up the Survivor 1 meter away from a Hook just to get a Stack.
Yeah i had few games recently. Where something like this happen. They were a few metres away from the hook and their team mates were bodyblocking and just giving me free hits. I had sloppy. So not a good idea, for an action that would prove pointless. I wasn't even playing ghostface, so there shouldn't be any worry about 99% stalk. That and i don't think any of them were running we're gonna live forever. Than another game where people try healing right in front of me, rather than running away, leading to everyone taking a few hits. They could of avoided. So yeah i would have to agree with you. Sometimes taking a hit for your team mate is pointless and not always the wise thing to do.

Well here an Oni guide that should help you get a feel or general idea for the killer. Which i think in general is related to this topic funny enough. Since it about Oni and this guide does go into detail and explain some of Oni's weaknesses. Which i think would help to show Oni is a balance current, who is not in need of any nerfs.

Yeah, I abuse the corners thing if I get Lerys, I remember one time I looped a decent one for his WHOLE power (no addons tho) in one area of Lerys using only a window and corners. People just want good killers to be nerfed, hence the Spirit and Hag complaints accompanying him.
Also, yeah, he's not easy to play, it took me a decent amount of effort to pick him up and play him properly. Oni is fine. People just can't get over the fact that he has to be good to beat them.
I remember coming across a Oni a few times, back when no mither challenge was a thing. Which well that was fun times. Thankfully, i doubt anyone is doing that challenge anymore. So most should be able to learn how to loop Oni around the normal way. Since before he get his power. He is basically the same as any other killer. Just loop him normally, since you can take what you learn from other killers and use it against Oni while he is still powerless.
Yeah i think alot of people if they took the time to play the killers they hate. Would often learn or figure out, oh hey, they do have a weakness and are not unbeatable. That or look up guides on say youtube, to help learn what you should do when facing a certain killer. They would learn, oh yeah this is not some unstopable force of evil but rather a killer that has both their upsides and downsides.

Wdym? He's a ton of fun.
Also, Oni is balanced, doesn't need nerfs.
Yeah i have no idea what is with all the Oni nerfs threads lately. Since he does have a clear weakness when using his ability. Tight turns and corners. Been able to use that to loop an Oni a fair bit on maps like hawkins. That and Oni early game is rather weak, while having a strong mid to late game. That and the longer you can deny Oni that first hit, the worst the game becomes for Oni. That and having played a bit of Oni myself, it does take some skill to aim that club, since i lost count of how many times i would hit a wall or something else rather than the survivor i was aiming for. It's not free downs as the op is making it out to be. Still got learn how to aim with that thing. That and Oni, needs to earn his power, to earn that ability to one shot. Just like how Myers needs to stalk to get to tier 3 or Ghostface needs to stalk to get that expose effect.
Which honestly, all of these nerf Oni threads just make me question. If Oni is op, what the heck is BIlly then?

Most Add Ons for Survivors are useless.
Also, how can it be easier to get Tokens in WGLF than BBQ? You only have to play the game to get 4 BBQ Stacks. Sure, not 100% of the time, there might be that game where you only get 3, but this is really rare. And even if then, you would not need to rush for Unhooks or take stupid Protection Hits just for a Stack.
If a game goes super well for survivors. You might not even get any stacks. Due to no one being hooked and the gens getting done rather fast. With no one needing any help by taking a hit for them. Since sometime it happens and you get a decent or skilled team of survivors vs a killer who only just started playing the game. While in a game that is more normal, others can get the unhooks before you. Of course protection hits are better than before, so that is the one upside of recent changes. Yet it will still put you in danger and vs certain killers, trying to take a protection hit might be impossible or a very bad idea, like say Bubba.
@OldHunterLight said:
But there are killers that are addon dependant to be really good, meanwhile you can get into a match as a survivor without addons/items and have no problem.
My example of addon dependant killers are trapper, wraith, legion, clown.
I'm not saying it's impossible to win without addons I have done it but it makes those killers easier to play.
Just my opinion
That is also a fair point. Yeah a killer like Oni, can do very well without any add ons. While others like ghostface relay a bit more on their add ons. Since a trapper with a bag, is like a ghostface with recovery add-ons. It a massive game changer. Making the killer feel like a totally different killer, due to just how much their add on effect them. Like trapper bags allows you to carry more traps and do things you just could not do without add ons. While an Oni, with or without out add ons, will still be able to snow ball really well thanks to Fright and possibly getting two survivors down during a single use of their power.

He's a weaker billy, he really doesn't need a nerf. Sure he has more manueverability, but getting access to that blood fury in the first place can be difficult. His power gives him some help in chases, but until he gets it, he's an m1 killer with nothing to help him in chases.
Yeah Oni lacks any real early game power. That and unless the survivors for some reason, let Oni get two easy hits early on. A gen or two might pop by the time Oni gets his power. The longer survivors deny that first hit for Oni, the more they are able to hurt Oni by denying him his ability.

Fair enough.

Because running AITH when you already have an item is so efficient right? Sacrificing a perk slot to keep add-ons you should have kept anyway if you escape is dumb. At least if you bring WGLF you actually get something of value from it.
Oh yea and even if you bring a White Ward you lose your add-ons if you escape, and you lose your item if the killer knocks it out of your hands with Frankie's. Because it's fair that a perk overrides an offering.
Well i never said it was efficient. I was just bringing up the fact, survivors can make a choice if they so desire related to perks. Which is why i use the term give up a perk slot, since there are countless others perk one could run. That might benefit them more in escaping.
Which i also never said a thing about white ward or Leatherface one perk. I think you are just debating yourself there. Since i never brought up that point.
-
@Booper_Of_Snoot said:
Add ons should be lost after dying or escaping, just like killer add ons are lost.
Its more costly as survivor, but you accept that when you play survivor.
The system is fine.
Well survivors can keep their add on after escaping, if they are running ace in the hole perk. So survivors do still have a choice of giving up a perk slot in order to keep their add on. That or enter a game running plunders and ace in the hole, hoping to loot something good and be able to escape with it.

His chat was talking about how he is their king and how I was the one being toxic in this situation, do you honestly think that's okay?
There will be sore losers, sure, but we shouldn't allow people to create a negative environment by losing in a GAME.
Man they must hate playing against a Oni, if they think slugger/slugging is a bad term. Is the first thing that came to mind when i saw that.
Which is why i am of the mind set, i'm cool with it if no one says anything in post game chat. For maybe they were not feeling it and would rather get onto the next. Since it far better to have pure silence, than to have insults thrown your way. Since the person who didn't say anything, is at least decent enough just to hop onto the next game. That and in the case someone dies super early on, i figure most survivors will just hop onto the game. Rather than waiting one out, due to blood points or simply wanting to play the video game some more.

In all honesty, I don't think he's necessarily overpowered, but it does feel like he bullies people a lot on some maps and some areas.
That said, I don't think I've even touched the crouch button yet. Which I probably should. I've been a little too fixated on being a sneaky sneaker.
The Crouch button does have legit uses on ghostface. For sneaking up on others or at certain loops, to help avoid being reveal due to smaller reveal box while crouching, if the walls are tall enough, you can crouch and they will have no idea where you are coming from, leading to some fun mind games.

So because a group of people didn't choose to interact with someone, that means that survivors want killers as punching bags? Okay.
Yeah i don't think it's a Freddy thing. Since i had that happen while playing ghostface before. Which the chat being empty post game, well it's not big deal to me. Maybe they just wanna get on to the next match quickly. No idea. Of course if someone died super early on, i normally figure they left and join another game. So the only people i figure will say gg or anything at all, will be the ones who died last, unless everyone escaped. If no one says anything, which is sometimes the case. Well no big deal really. Since they simply said nothing. No real reason to make a big deal out of people not wanting to talk. Since hey, maybe they are grinding out blood points for something and so want to get in and out of matches quickly. Again no idea. Since hey, i would take no one saying anything over being insulted or wishing my family catches a certain disease any day of the week personally.

Yeah I can agree with that. His other addons need buffs or be reworked into more interesting stuff and the CD for both his addons and base need to be adjusted so the addons for cooldown feel not so mandatory. But what is it like a 16 second CD for shroud with both? Yet 40 without them? Yeah there's a reason the addons are overused so much.
30 for base kit, 16 with green and yellow recovery add ons. Playing without add on vs playing with add on is almost like playing two different killers. With how major of a difference it makes.
Which yeah, a rework for his add on, along with fixing reveal is one of the things ghostface could use. Which one idea i seen floating around for Ghostface, was the idea successfully hitting a expose target, leads to his power recovery faster. Which does sound like it might be a rather interesting one to test out.

I would have to ask if one of the new perks will be a scooby snack and will it allow you to heal others or grant them a speed boost by giving them a scooby snack?

No no, it's not "Good Killers". It's "Boring Killers". That's the word I see getting thrown around a lot more than Overpowered these days.
By definition, every Killer is boring to go up against because all of them have ways that can make things boring for the Survivor.
Billy? Leatherface? One-Downs, all they need to do is just close the gap.
Spirit? Nurse? They ignore loops, forcing you to run through multiple structures and play smarter with LOS blockers.
Freddy? Clown? They slow you down, making it easier to close the gap, with Freddy having the ability to have decent map pressure, and Clown having the ability to screw with a Survivor's POV with his gas.
Myers? Ghostface? Wraith? One has Insta-down, the other two can constantly turn off their terror radius.
Trapper? Hag? Both require traps, and both can stop a chase before it happens. Hag can also jumpscare you and force your camera to screw with your movement.
Doctor? Plague? Legion? They all can hinder the Survivor in some way with their power and effects, Doctor can cause jumpscares to appear on the Survivor's Screen, and create skillchecks that go all over the place, Plague makes it easier for Survivors to reveal their location and can effectively make perks like Iron Will useless because of how loud puking is, and Legion, I don't need to explain.
Huntress? Deathslinger? They both can hit you from far away, with Huntress being able to hit you from across the map if she is good enough.
Pig? She can make short and medium loops unsafe with her ambush.
Demogorgon? His shred can literally deny any agency of safety on the survivor's part if they try to lunge towards a window/pallet. And even then it will still hit sometimes because of how hit detection works in the game.
Oni? He forces a slugging playstyle, a playstyle a lot of people as far as I can tell, find "Boring".
Literally every Killer in the game has a playstyle that, as far as I can tell from this forum, is boring in one way or another. None of them are completely safe from every complaint I've heard coming from various users in this forum.
Some are more frequent than others, but they all definitely have had complaints risen towards them.
This is why, and I hope to god the devs follow this, that "fun" is not an objective reason to balance a game. Because every killer has something that can be boring to go up against with certain players. Some of them counter a Stealthy playstyle, like Plague and Doctor. Some of them counter a Chaser playstyle, like Spirit and Nurse. And some of them are decent at everything, like Pig, Freddy and Demogorgon.
If the Killers are changed to be made "fun" according to what this forum thinks is "Fun", then we wouldn't have a variety of killers to choose from, we would only have 1. A basic M1 Killer.
Yeah the funny thing about Oni, if they run the standard monitor and abuse along side Fright combo. Getting two downs out of their ability, if another target is close enough nearby. Is just people taking issue with Oni using what would benefit them most logically in terms of getting use out of their power. Since if they can get to that other person, well two down people is better than one. Unless the second person is super far away, than picking up the first person to save your ability would be better. Yet the slugging, if the Oni is doing it. It most likely just to make good use out of their ability. So people finding it boring and making balance changes purely base on that, would just be punishing Oni players for finding a good perk combo and having a brain.
-
@DelsKibara said:
Yeah no, I don't think anyone but the people who find her overpowered/boring would want this change.
Yeah i have to agree with you. Since the op logic doesn't seem to add up to me. Legion and Nurse have massively different powers from Spirit. That and the funny thing is Legion power after he get the first hit, would have great tracking if anyone is nearby. While the op wants to nerf Spirit ability to track survivors, while ignoring Legion power gives them a great boost to finding and tracking survivors after landing the first hit, if any survivor reminds near by. So it kind of ironic they want to nerf Spirit ability to track survivors by pointing to legion and saying make it more like that. That and they seem to want to force spirits to run Stridor, if they want to be the very best like no one ever was. To catch them is my real test. To kill them is my cause. Which jokes aside, seems like it would be a bad idea. For that would mean less builds you can run on a spirit and lead to more cookie cutter builds if someone wants to play effectively as spirit. Since if we go and look at ghostface, his power is flexible. You can play a no stalk ghostface, maybe not the most effective way to use his ability but you can do it, if you want to and still make decent use out of his ability. That and ghostface has a number of different perks or combos of perks that can work well on him, due to way his power works. Like surge and surveillance. Even without a single other perk, you can use get benefit out of his power. Since survivors having no idea you are about to sneak up on them or stalking for one shots, is very useful.
While forcing spirit to always run Stridor to make best use of their power, seems odd. Since shouldn't a spirit be able to use their power effectively without needing any other perks?

I think it works more on the mobile market because giving away premium currency for free in small increments is a wildly accepted practice there that's heavily encouraged.
You want people to get invested in your mobile phone game, because it's easier to let your wallet loose in it.
Fair point.

Something Ozt brings up in his video of the mobile version of this game. Is you can earn free Auric cells overtime, to slowly get killers like Myers or Ghostface for free, which would be impossible to do so on other platforms. So for the mobile version, it seems giving away some Auric cells or allowing people to earn them, is a idea they are testing with or seem to think is a good idea.

It used to work like that way back when, in the public test servers. The expose effect also only lasted for 20 seconds. Of course this was also back when it was super easy as heck to reveal ghostface before they rework the reveal boxes, it took one second to reveal ghostface and not 1.5 seconds, when object still work on sneaky killers like him. All of this combine, made ghostface an awful killer to play.

Your stalk progress resets if he hits you before your exposed. You could take a hit, run away and heal up. If you suspect he 99%'ed you treat him like tier 3 Myers and run. Remember GF has a power that is controlled by the survivors. That is never a good idea. Without his power he is literally a M1 killer.
This this right here. Yeah if the ghostface is not using his power and he has no add on recovery items. 30 seconds is a long bloody time.

Fun is subjective, which is why that is never something you should consider when balancing your game. People will have fun against strong killers, some people won't, and that's just the nature of the game. That's how it is, and to change something because some people feel something is boring is unfair to the people who do find that something fun.
Yeah a good case in point about it being subjective, fun that is. Well look at spirit. Some people don't find her fun to go against. Yet i find her fun to go against. Clearly the people who don't find going against spirit fun and i who finds going against spirit fun, have different meanings of the term fun. If we were to base it on how much fun or lack there of, people had in general against spirit. Well it would simply turn into a shouting match of whoever is the loudest. Which someone being loud, doesn't mean they are right. Leading to balance choices base on fun, being a rather poor idea.
-
We're gonna live forever. Buff it, to give you a slight buff to healing for each token you have. Like say 5% faster for one token, 10% for two, 15% for three, 20% for four. Since hey the perk is all about helping others to gain bonus blood points. Seems like it would be fitting, to be able to heal faster.

Well, there are obviously some things they can tweak here and there. I'm just saying that I don't think it's a very bad idea, and something that's rather harmless to implement, especially since BL was nerfed.
And I'm aware that there are many things that need to be fixed in the game! You can point out things that you would like or not like to happen while still being aware that there are bugs that need fixing, or things that need balancing. I mean, this is a general discussions thread.... 😏
I do like that idea though, reducing stagger time for Survivors would be fine as well. Although I'm just thinking of adding a slight stagger to Killers in terms of it making a little more sense.... but, then again, there's not much in this game that makes sense anyway!
Fair enough.
-
@Hippie said:
I think the bottom line is that Killers having a little bit of stagger is something that should have been added whenever Balanced Landing was nerfed to only work when not exhausted. And I'm not talking something MASSIVE, just like .5 seconds or so, and only a slow effect for that duration, not a full stop like Survivor currently has. There's no reason to NOT have stagger when falling as Killer after Balanced Landing was nerfed.
I really don't understand how you all are complaining so hard about something so trivial, when it would be for balance. Just like they removed (most) god loops, nerfed toolboxes, nerfed insta-heals and nerfed Balanced Landing.... all for balance. If it's "unbalanced" (which it is slightly) for Killers to fall three stories and not suffer any sort of penalty, then why cry so much about it being remedied? Honestly, the game is pretty dang balanced right now with all of the updates they've been doing, and I think this would be perfectly fine to add. And if it isn't, they can revert it. Although they'll probably never implement something like this by going off of the General Discussions forum.
I think the problem is that there are a lot of bad Killers on these forums who don't do well in their games and then blame it on the other side, when it really just boils down to how good you are at the game. If Killers can consistently hit rank 1 and be in red ranks, then the game is balanced enough. If Killers WEREN'T able to hit red ranks no matter how good they were, then the game would NOT be balanced. But that is not the case, obviously. I myself have reached red rank as Killer (despite playing more Survivor than Killer), and I've never even used BBQ. Heck, I use STBFL on Huntress and I win plenty of games with her against red ranks. The roles are balanced enough at this point that something like a tiny stagger after falling would be perfectly fine.
So if the roles are balanced enough at this point or the game is already petty balance right now. Why would they need to change something? Since the term balance enough or already petty balance, makes it sound like things are fine as is. That changing it would be a bad idea. It doesn't like sound adding this idea in is good at all. That and you say this idea is for balance, when here the thing. It's not been tested at all. So we have no idea how this will effect things, outside of making balance landing stronger. Making the idea oh hey you are only against it due to being bad killers, sounds questionable, when there is a lack of date. Many people like to have date and how this would effect things in reality and not just on paper. Since many ideas sound great on paper but turn out to be awful in reality. That and this idea would not effect nurse at all. Also Oni can't use Demon Strike when falling down, so it sort of already exist for his power. That and your using red ranks to favor your point, you are aware even the devs have stated, rank is not a matter of skill but rather mere how much you play?
Which also this idea would buff balance landing, by allowing a balance landing user to gain more distance from a killer, due to the killer suffering from slow down. Which would once again harm slower killers the most. That and the idea seems to be oh survivors suffer from this, so killers also must. Killers have to hunt down and hook each survivor three times, making their role different from survivors. Even if we ignore that, killers don't currently have any perk that negate this down side. While survivors not only has a perk that negates this downside but gain a speed boost, allowing them to cover great distance. So if we go with one side suffers from it why not the other? Well where the perk for killers to negate this downside and gain a benefit from it? Could we get a change to a existing perk or a brand new one, to help killers overcome this down side like survivors?
That and since you make it out to seem to be a very minor thing, when you say you are not wanting to make a massive change, which lead me to, why should we focus on this over something like fixing ghostface's reveal, which has a far bigger effect on gameplay for both ghostface and the survivors?
If the issue is indeed a big deal or one that must be dealt with, another way to take care of the op issue, would be with better map design or simply reducing the negative effect survivors suffer from when falling. Since we could always reduce the sagger time for survivor by 0.5 seconds, which would lead to the same effect, if a survivor is not using balance landing. Since the survivor gets back up on their feet faster.
-
Survivor self caring, under the effects of sloppy. Going to the same corner each time, got down over and over again. I don't think they notice the killer had nurse's calling.
Bill just got unhooked, was injured. One of their fellow survivors when down. Killer was taking them to the basement. Bill hides in a locker right in front of the killer. Why was the Bill in the basement? No bloody idea. Bill tries to escape after the killer hooks their friend. Killer chases Bill. Bill goes down. Bill gets hooked in basement. Bill lets himself dies. Sticks around for end chat, to yell at the killer for tunneling. When he got under 1 or 2k points. The Bill didn't have head on or a flash light.

I mean, a machine should be able to tell how long a match has been going, how many Survivors remain, hook phase, etc. etc., no?
Yeah it could be rather possible for all of that. Of course the machine would also have to take into account certain things. Since well there are certain killers that can snowball really fast, like Billy and Oni. That or everyone dying to a haunted grounds or very poor plays. Leading to everyone on the floor in under a few minutes. Leading to people trying to kobe, only to fail and than well give up, due to things seeming hopeless. So would need to take into account how many survivors are in the dying state as well. Like say if you die on hook, while everyone else is in dying state near the start of the game, like say with in the first five minutes, no punishment.
That and there also be the classic face camping bubba, that will need to be taken into account. Since some people will kill themselves on hook, due to the killer being a face camping bubba rather than hang in there to give their team mates as much time as possible. So some might take issue with that if the system punishes them for not wanting to play against a face camping bubba. Which could lead to a case of well, punishing everyone no matter if the killer is facecamping or not. Since well camping is not against the rules. so from one point of view it could be seen as legit to punish these who give up super early. That or be coded very well to avoid people escaping punishment by simply killing themselves while the killer is still near the hook, even if the killer is walking away. If we go with the idea, well a face camping bubba does ruin the enjoyment of others and doesn't allow one person to play the video game. So little thing like that would need to be figure out ahead of time. That and lots of testing to make sure it works the proper way. Well if we go down the punishment route. Since we did have the bug of huntress not getting rewarded points for throwing her hatches recently. Survivors/killers getting stuck in pallets. Which both were thankfully fixed. So if some sort of system is added in. Hopefully it works and is not buggy like ghostface's reveal can be at times.
There is always rewarding the remaining players with blood points, if someone kills themselves on hook early in the match.

"How do you know it someone who doing it on purpose to avoid say a dc vs someone who is doing it, to say give their team mate the hatch due to being in a bad position that would lead to both of them dying, if they when for then hook?"
Generally, the context of the game should make it pretty obvious. Has only a minute or two passed in-match and the person "attempted to escape" straight to phase 2, only to die after one hook? Pretty obvious ragequit. Person is on struggle phase with only one other teammate left? Probably safe to assume the game is lost anyways, and that person letting themself die at that point isn't really an issue.
Yeah if the match is recorded and a person is overlooking it. Yeah fair enough. Since i was thinking more along the lines of it being done by a machine, who might have a harder time telling the difference between someone killing themselves on hook for a more legit reason vs simple rage quit.

Yeah number 4 is the real tricky part right there. How do you know it someone who doing it on purpose to avoid say a dc vs someone who is doing it, to say give their team mate the hatch due to being in a bad position that would lead to both of them dying, if they when for then hook?
@MrCookie said:
So I just played a game on Hakwins against Demogorgon. Jake got hooked with 4 gens left and everyone else healthy. A demo left a portal near the hook and left the area. I went for the unhook but before that I wanted to destroy the portal so I start destroying the portal and Jake starts killing himself! And he did. Just because I started destroying active portal with no demo around. So is there anything to do against that? I can't report it because it's not against the rules though I think it's compeletely unsportsmanlike, and I would rather he just disconnected, at least he would have been actually punished for that.
The only thing to prevent it is to play SWF but I only play solo like many others.
Yeah i seen this more times than i care to count as both a survivor and killer. Like i been in survivor games, where i was the last person left. Not due to being a master looping god or anything. No, everyone else simply kill themselves on their first hook. Than i die or if the killer is feeling very merciful today, they will let me escape. That or the random person who will kill themselves on hook, i place them up there on hook. I clearly start to move away from the hook and they kill themselves. Like after that, the match doesn't feel proper after that. I will hook everyone once for bbq and than just run around chasing people to help give everyone some points. That way they leave the match with a fair amount of points and hopefully get in another game, where they have a full team and can play a proper match .

it can feel exhausting having to correct people over and over again that Freddy's lunge is the same.
I guess you are right, I probably should take a break from the forums for a while.
Yeah the forums do seem way worst than the game. Like if i had a dollar every time someone when, killers are all crybabies or survivors are all toxic. I would bloody be rich. Heck i play both survivor and killer. I love looting stuff and escaping while using arc in the hole and plunderers. It's like an action rpg. That or the moments you find the perfect item vs the killer you are facing, like a flashlight with add on that boost how long you can use it, when going against a hag. That or being the person who saved your team, due to looting a key. That or looting a key with the add on that allows you to keep it, even if you die. Leading to you getting a free key out of the deal. That and sneaking around, jump scaring people as ghostface is fun. Zooming around the map, for i got a need for speed as Oni is fun.
Since the majority of people i met in game are rather chill. Heck, even had people thank me for helping with their stun challenge while i was playing the killer. Thank people for getting into a locker and letting me grab them out of it. To finally get that bloody challenge done. Had trappers, spirits and endless other killers show me mercy and give me the hatch out of the kindness of their heart. Had a wraith once try and make up for the bad game, by giving me and the other person who didn't dc/kill themselves on hook a few points. That and man that guy did an amazing job well done. You did an amazing job well done. That or just fun games where everyone was just messing around and memeing. That or both me and the survivors going, yeah this game gone on long enough, drag out a bit two long for both of our liking, lets just get it over with and let them do the gen and escape. That or making someone day by giving them the hatch and seeing them be thankful as heck, when they were doing the no mither challenge. Being thank for steamers or being thanks for helping to give everyone some points due to someone bringing in a steamers or just lots of escape cakes. I have seen alot of people come to a common agreement or understanding in game. Being nice and friendly to one another. Sure every once in awhile there is that ahole. Yet they are a very small minority from what i seen. Most people are reasonable and understanding.

Excuses, excuses.
Killers want a skillcheck completion in order to stop the generator from regressing, there's Overcharge.
Want to give me an excuse for Ruin as well?
iTs a hEx pErk?
How is explaining how a perk works, excuses? When that is the truth? It works just like that, the devs have even said so.
MadArtillery is right. Overcharge works in a different way from a normal skill check. You don't fail it from letting go of the gen. Which would of been the case for a normal skill check. You can let go of the gen and still pass the check skill. Like you didn't even offer a counter point at all, all you have done is acted like you are in the right and superior to someone else. While failing to offer any counter point to prove overcharge is good at counting gen tapping, which i believe was your point. Like maybe if you explained your point as to why overcharge is good for counting gen tapping. Maybe it would make more see your point. For you have not given one single point as to why overcharge is good for counting gen tapping. You don't seem interested in debate but rather seem to want to relay on the logic of listen and believe.
That and Mad never brought up ruin, only overcharge in both of their posts in this thread. This is called deflection. Rather than admitting you are factual wrong about the way the perk overcharge works, you try and bring the focus onto something else. Which i personal think gen tapping is something minor next to bigger issues, like ghostface reveal being buggy sometimes, nurse bugs. Yet the way you treat others, is what lead me to make this post. Maybe if you treat the person not as part all some sort of hive mind by going oh my gosh killers but rather as an Individual, since that what Mad is, a individual who doesn't agree with you, you might have people more willing to hear you out rather than being turn off right off the bad, due to the way you act. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

You are given so much info of when he uses his teleport. That's not pressure, pressure is making your opponent slip and panic by constantly being up your butt and denying you the ability to do anything that makes haste od your objective.
Pressure is the gen kick after the teleport, pressure is being hit after he teleports. One of which you can completely avoid by not leaving scratchmarks everywhere.
Yeah the big pools of blood pouring out of the gen, normally give a good idea. Oh yeah Freddy is here. Unless they are running that add-on which makes all gens pour out blood. Which normally only fools a survivor once. With Freddy teleport having the same cool down as ghostface ability, which is a very long cool down. 30 seconds is a fair bit of time on one or more gens.

Were they crouching? For ghostface has a smaller reveal box, when crouching or it could be add ons. That or old fashion buggy reveal, which sometimes favor ghostface or sometimes works against him.

I'm not trying to argue about the BP itself here but to be fair survivors have both Plunderer's and Ace in the Hole. And Pharmacy if you count that. Killers don't have something to just get the equivalent to free items. If there was a perk like that where I could just kick a chest like a generator and pick up a free bonus item I can exit the game with, I'd be equipping that left and right.
That what i do on a survivor i plan on playing around with for awhile i only just level up. Take Plunderers and Ace in the hole, loot some chests. Hope i get something that is not a brown toolbox. Than try my hardest to escape or in some cases, get a key, die, keep the key due to it spawning with a certain add on. That or die but watch the match, as my team mates use the key i looted to escape. It's like extra blood points. Which is why i like to call these matches stock up runs.
If i could do that on certain killers that are more add on heavy, like ghostface. Yeah i would do it in the heart beat, in hopes of getting some free chewed pens or at least stocking up on them.

This community is probably the most entitled one I've seen. Both sides always want to 4k/escape and if they dont they go cry on the fourms.
Most annoying thing is all the made up rules, no tunneling, no camping, no gen rushing, no slugging, no swf, no ds+unbreakable, no noed. i can keep going forever
This community would be so much better if everyone just accepts they've lost instead of crying about it on the fourms
Well with how many different meaning there are for the word tunneling alone. Just it seems like everyone has a different meaning to it. Since well when i think of tunnel vision, i think of focusing sololy on one person, above and beyond any logical reasoning, to the point it backfires and harms you. Yet i seen others who have a clearly different meaning for it. So like it possible not to tunnel, when there is a dozen different meanings of the word floating around. That and some would call the killer going from gen to gen camping.
So even if someone wanted to try and follow the rules. Some of them would simply be impossible to do so, with how there is a dozen different conflicting meanings to some of these terms.
