That's how they are sadly. I don't mind any "second chance" perks because all have a counter, for NoeD cleaning totems, Baiting DH, slugging DS, not slugging Unbreakable and not tunnelling BT.

Well in the case of a Oni. Hitting the person with borrow time, triggers the safe unhook event. Which makes them start dropping blood orbs again. For a unhook person doesn't drop any blood orbs for 10 seconds. That way, they are force to mend if not also heal up on top of it. Which wastes more time, resulting in some area having a lot of blood orbs, Oni can collect for later. So in the case of a Oni, it could just be planning ahead, to ensure a healthy supply of blood orbs. Since forcing a survivor to mend, can be useful for the Oni, more so than other killers. Just hit and than let go.

Just because moris are strong it doesnt mean players with it are trash. Same goes for keys, noed, ds etc.

    Maybe you should git gud?

I would have to agree with you here. Since Ozt did want to test out noed one day. So someone using noed doesn't mean they are trash, they could be trying to test out how effective something is. To see what the results of it are. That and in case of moris, well we do have dailies that are kill one survivor with your hand using x killer. Which can be done without a mori, if you bring something like rancor or devour hope. Long as you kill a survivor, be it by rancor, devour hope. It still count towards the daily. That or someone might want to see the cool animation for once or simply just get rid of the offering before they prestige a character. Many reasons why someone might use something. Be it a offering, perk or item.

It's why I stopped caring. I will do my part when I can, but if I can't and my teammates were overly aggressive from the start - unhooking in front of the Killers face 1 second after he hooked, and think they're as good as No0B3, but keep getting downed in 5 seconds, I am going to let you die.

If I cleanse 2-3 totems and NoEd still pops, bye bye. Out the door I go.

The only exception is if my teammates played really well, then I would be happy to die for one of them.

The funny thing is, if more survivors did the whole get out of dodge. when things look bad or are going south, rather than sticking around to try and save their one team mate on hook. Certain games would of when alot better for the survivors, with more escaping. Since i lost count of how many times survivor try to save one person on hook, only for it to backfire in the most epic ways and simply end up with more survivors dead. Sure sometimes it works and it epic when it happens. Yet a majority of the time, nothing comes out of it and it simply leads to no real gain but merely trading hooks until one or more survivors die.

Which yeah, if you play on an amazing team. It makes everything different, like damn these guys are good and save my rear more than once and got the gens done quick. Heck i would gladly throw away my life for any of them. For an amazing team is like a rare one of a kind piece of art. It's worth dying to protect it.

  • @AvisDeene said:

I play on PC through Steam and I main Claudette. I only play solo and it is rare when my teammates are intentionally toxic, maybe 2 out of 10 times. The most common thing I see are people getting butt-hurt over getting caught first and suiciding on first hook. The other day I had someone DC when the Killer downed them. They claimed they DC'd because I was hiding in a corner the whole time. We were on Lery's and I was working on a gen and he brought the Killer to the room I was in. He did the same thing earlier and got the killer on me. So rather than get caught, I got off the gen and positioned myself to not be seen. He didn't like that and had a temper tantrum.

My advice to you would be to play for yourself. Pick perks that benefit you and stop thinking about your solo teammates. Don't tell them what you're bringing in and only help them when you think you can.

That seems to be a common thing i notice. Whenever you see someone try and play the blame game. That they will often leave out context or make things up, just so they can blame a misplay on someone else. Like i seen someone call another survivor selfish. For running towards the other exit gate, far away from the killer, while injured and didn't magically do something to heal the two down team mates on death hook. IT seems like they wanted to give the killer a three k rather than a 2k. While ignoring the survivor was there helping people to heal up. Only one when Leeroy at the end, before the rest of the team could heal up, to try and get the unhook. The same survivor also try to shame someone else by going they only got 16k points and calling them selfish, while they were the first person to leave the game. That and somehow they wanted their fellow survivor to magically know where everyone is, when they are not running anything like bond.

Like be it playing as a survivor or a killer. From time to time, you just see stuff that is just massive bs.

  • @DelsKibara said:

If you're always running into this situation, run DS+Unbreakable. Sorry that sucks :( But that is Solo Queue for you. Your teammates are more often than not the true killers.

Yeah it's cases of team mates farming you. That make me think, Ds is not a perk meant to protect you from the killer but your team mates.

  • @domai36 said:

The logic used above for the 0-1 loss, 2 draw and 3-4 win is pretty solid, and will likely have more of a bearing after the MMR changes. It is important anyway because it seems to be the metric that BHVR uses above otherrs to determine viability of different perks and killers.

A 3K is generally a complete win for a killer because it usually just means the last survivor got hatch which is not at all a bad thing as a killer should not feel pressured to slug and play lame to deny hatch.

A 1K isn't really a draw for a killer because any killer can just camp a survivor and usually get a 1K - that's both frowned upon behaviour and not an indication of any level of skill. Also if a killer does nothing all game and gets a lategame hook, especially after EGC - it's much more likely it will result in a sacrifice, especially at weaker ranks.

So yeah, I think it holds up really well. Of course the longer answer is "it depends" because there are way more factors to consider, but to keep it simple that rule works most of the time.

Yeah sometimes context is very much needed. Since well there are times when say a random dc happens near the start of the match for some reason or a survivor kill themselves on first hook. Where in cases like that, yeah it would be alot easier for the killer to win the game. Which would not be a standard game. Since it becomes a three vs one, rather than a four vs one. Which favors the killer. If the killer takes the match serious and doesn't show a bit of kindness and just farms the match for say points, rather than treating it serious.

I tend to have two types of Killers I play which makes me think I am somewhat lucky in this regard:

    • Killers I play extensively and can basically 4k every game with little to no effort
    • Killers I want to play because their playstyle interests me, but I have little experience with them and I don't have any good perks on them

If I want to exclusively farm Bloodpoints, I can just turn on a podcast and grind with my Mains for a whole day. I will get a lot of bloodpoints anyways because the Killers I main both have BBQ at Tier 3. But I tend to still try to go for a 4k.

These Bloodpoints, I tend to use for the other Killers I play that I like to experiment with and have more experience with. Killers like Pig and Plague for example. They keep this game afloat for me because despite not investing as much as I did with my Main killers to them, I tend to have more fun with them because they feel new.

If I want to experiment with different builds, I technically could use my Mains because they already have all if not most of the perks in the game. So I can test if in theory that build can work on the other Killers I play... If I ever get the perks for them that is, because the Bloodweb can be ridiculously horrific with it's RNG sometimes.

I once didn't get BBQ until I was Level 50 with the new Killer, that being Oni back then.

Having prestige my ghostface recently for the final time, woot tier three at last. I only got bbq on them after level 50. Heck must of spend at least half a million blood points trying to get pop on my Oni, due to bloody bad rng. Which is funny enough, another reason why only a single tier for perks might be a good idea. So you get screwed over less by rng, when trying to get the one single perk you want. That and would promote trying out and testing new things, since you could get that perk you want for that wacky build easier. That or something that boosts you chance of getting a certain perk on your next blood level , like you pick bbq as the perk you want and you have higher odds of seeing it on your next blood web, to lessen the rng.

Of course when it comes to messing around with perks. Well since all the killers are massively different from one another. Well messing around with the same perks on a say ghostface and oni, could lead to massively different results, due to their powers being massively different. What might be a fun meme build on one, could be a pure nightmare on another. That or a perk which might be good on one killer, could be bad on another. So if the grind was reduce, it could lead to maybe people trying out new killers they normally don't. Maybe mess around and experiment with them more with odd or random perks.

    @calem said:

I agree with pretty much everything everyone has said on this post. The grind is ridiculous. I started playing this game just over a year ago with my roommates. Since we were new, we had no idea what we were doing. After a few games and some YouTube videos later, we had brief ideas. But by God were we turned off by the amount of time needed to unlock perks and then actually GET them on another character. It's off-putting. We stopped playing for the remainder of the year. I eventually came back and have been grinding for the past month and learning everything. I got to rank 1 survivor, then got devotion 1. Those are probably my only worthy accomplishments so far.

I haven't prestiged any characters. I only have 2 survivors and 1 killer at level 50. I only have 3-4 survivors I can play with proper perk builds. I only have 2-3 killers I can use proper perk builds on. I also have nearly 300 hours (which I know isn't much compared to so many other people) of playtime. I feel like it would make sense that putting 300 hours into a game, you should be able to play most of what the game has to offer. I still can't. There's still many teachables I would like (especially for killer), but am just so unmotivated to grind this game (especially without BBQ or WGLF). BBQ isn't bad because it's also a tracking perk, but WGLF literally does nothing to help you during the game. It's a wasted perk slot that I wouldn't mind using for something else. But the grind is way too extreme so I feel like without it, I am just forfeiting way too many BPs.

Also I specifically remember a thread from yesterday or the day before about how the 1.5x bloodrush event ended a few weeks ago and someone missed it; everyone was up in arms saying the guy should've played earlier if he wanted the extra BP! Now, everyone seems to be on the same page that the grind is terrible and more BP is needed. Sometimes this forum makes no sense.

When the bloodrush event was going on. 1.5 blood point gain just felt right. Now maybe it's just me but it did really feel like that should be the standard for the game. Like it was the way things were meant to be. You could play casually and still earn a good number of blood points. That and survivor blood point gain was closer to feeling like you got more out of a match, rather than table scarps. Like if 1.5 blood points was the standard, it would be a good start to help ease the grind. Since well, the grind only gets worst with each new character and killer added. If someone wanted to play as that killer or survivor. While the blood point gain remains the same. So sooner or later, something got to happen.

I had many time dominate the Survivors, having 3K and the last one escape through hatch.

That last Survivor still had "gg ez", which mean he escaped = he won over me.

Which funny enough. Since you brought up the hatch. That how the survivors escaped in this match. Which is context i forgot to add in the op. Since my friend told me, the survivors found a key during the match. They had no idea a key was looted during it. Than the survivors escaped, due to getting lucky and finding a key. So they escaped, thanks to some good rng on their side.

  • To everyone i would like to say. Thanks for the replies. Many different points of views but all with very solid logic and reasoning behind it. Thanks for sharing your points of view on this.

Yeah, it is rather brutal and I get why you would totally be turned off by it. They honestly could do so much to help with the grind, turning off Tiers for perks would be a nice step imo. Because it would cut the grind by 2/3rds.

yeah most perks have no reason for a tier one or two. Since outside of a few rare cases. Tier three is always the best choice. There is really no reason for tier one or two to exist, outside of a grind.

I'm not whining. I'm saying if you get tunneled off the hook ain't shitt you can do about it in reality. If you're a killer tunneling off the hook, you probably suck at playing killer.

Yeah i don't know what the op means then they say tunneling but when i hear the term. I think of tunnel version, going after one target above and beyond any reason, that it harms you to purely focus on them, rather than going after someone else. That and it seems like it would benefit the killer more, to slug the person who just got unhook or force them to mend thanks to burrow time, than go after the saver. Making them have an idea case of three survivors not doing gens, rather than just two. Tunneling just seems to be a rather poor plan, more like one that makes the killer lose while destroying the fun of a survivor by employing a tactic that is questionable if it works. Since it leaves the three other survivors to freely do gens as they please. With maybe one getting off gens, to save the hooked person from time to time. So that still leaves two doing gens. Unless it's a group that swarm the hook, the minute someone goes down.

That and as you say, the person getting unhooked has no say over things. So a team mate could farm them, by unhooking them right in front of the killer without burrow time, not taking a protection hit. Which in this case is the fault of your fellow team mates or at least partly their fault. That and the place you get unhook in, might not have any loops nearby or all pallets have been used up. With the nearest loop being a far distance away, even if you have something like dead hard or spirit burst, you can only get so far while injured, before going down. For your choices are far more limited than a healthy survivor. Going with the idea it's a standard m1 one killer and not someone with one shot powers. Sure it possible the killer might be far away when your team mates unhook. Yet if they are truly focus on tunneling you, odds are they will come right back to you. So it possible you might not even have time to heal up. Which the op idea to counter it, is just get good. Which i think would be hard to do so, if you end up back on the ground, shortly after getting unhooked.

I play survivor main and use the bp to blast through my killer blood webs, that does not make me a killer main, even though most of my killers are level 50 with 2 prestiged. And the sentiment that a survivor LIKES camping and tunneling is not true, no matter how you paint it, that guy was at least a liar at most a killer main stirring the pot.

Congrats on showing you didn't read the thread at all. You are wrong. The op in that thread jedi, show these pictures, the sames one i am showing you down below. Proving Lal and you are bloody wrong and are bias as heck, who just want to blame all the worlds problems on killers and promote a in group vs out group mind set. For you can't treat people as people and can't possibly think people disagree with you. For if they disagree with you, of course they must be part of that bad bad nasty outgroup. Yeah clearly a killer main will spend more blood points on their survivors, than they would their killers. This is why Lal got called out. For he added nothing to this topic and ignore the main point. Certain people who happen to play Survivors, who are inexperience not knowing what they are talking about and blaming killers for their own lack of skills. Ignoring all of this, just so he can bash on killers again.

I read your long rant here. 1st paragraph, ok I will give you that it was a low comment although kind of funny, but crass. But I play with Lalythia a fair amount and they are a red rank survivor so there is no need to explain what a 3 gen is, how to avoid it or the point of this post. It was all very clear and understood. Also the link you are referring to was ridiculous, it is a "survivor" claiming to like being camped and tunneled. I also called bs on that post because it was beyond ludicrous.

If you read the first two pages of that thread, which i doubt you did. The op shows a picture of him spending more blood points on his survivors than his killers. While Lalythia called him a killer main, saying there is no way a survivor main would think like that. The op of that thread show proof on the second page that Lalythia was talking out of his rear. Which you clearly ignored. Due to not reading the full thread.

That and Lalythia just show his bias against killers again. He ignores what a whole thread is about just to go killers are bad. For he can't get it, that killers are people to. That not everyone who plays killer is part of some hive mind.

That is extremely understandable imo, I mean I love double bp and I bet everyone does, I bet that survivor understood why you didn't gave the hatch, I can easily give hatch if I have all my stacks

Yeah this is true. Which i saw first hand, funny enough in a few recent games i had in the past couple of days. Clearing out some offerings on ghostface. [Finally got prestige three on ghostface, now just need to get back the perks i normally use on him.] Bring some blood party steamers, do my best to make sure everyone gets some points and the end results, was everyone being happy and even some thanks for bringing a steamers. Everyone loves bonus blood points.

  • Yeah i saw someone call patroling gens camping once. The survivors had created a three gen all on their own. I was playing clown, for a daily i think was the reason i was playing him. Like i was playing nice, since i recall someone killing themselves on hook or dcing during that match near the start. Going easy. Than at the end, yep i was toxic for camping the gens. It was the most confusing moment of my life when playing killer. Since is not one of the killers objectives, is to stop survivors from doing gens?

  • Well that simply sounds like counter play. It one of the ways to deny legion use of their power. By making them miss. It like spreading out and not sticking together aka scooby doo it, both will greatly limit the effect Legion's power has.

  • Don't slow down perks already exist, like pop, dying light and others? So couldn't someone in this case a killer, slow down the game, without needing a mori?

  • @OldHunterLight said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1269793#Comment_1269793

I cross mapped someone on the first match I had today, people have been nothing but kind so I have been giving the hatch almost every match (the first one that I didn't give was because I needed bp again, new on pc)

Yeah that understandable, since i am also currently going for tier three prestige on my ghostface. It one of the few times i don't give hatch to the last survivor, if i need that final bbq stack. Like the one time i was playing ghostface on hawkins. Where i think three out four of the survivors had spine chill and one of them was very good at hiding from me until the very end. I caught them and put them on hook. For well, need them blood points.

  • Welcome to the pc. Yeah lately i been playing killer, to just cool off from unlucky survivor games for the past couple of days. Lots of nice survivors i been going against. Like i seen a few people be good at performing flash light saves. It been forever seen i since one. So i just had to praise them for good flash light skills. That and some nice casual chat in the post game. Like i was playing Oni, me and one of the survivors was surprise someone play a game offering. Only had one game where one survivor was trash talking another. I was playing killer. So it was more like in fighting between survivors, but that was only a single game out of dozens and dozens that were rather chill.

Yeah when playing killer, if a game goes very well for me as killer. I normally give the last person the hatch. While if i'm playing survivor and someone gives me the hatch. I always make sure to say thanks, thanks for the mercy or something like that. Which yeah a good huntress is both scary and amazing to go against at the same time. It's like oh my god we are doomed but at the same time, oh my lord that is impressive and well done, they truly earn praise for making these epic shots.

Thing is, killing yourself/DCing on the first hook is different when your team is not only winning, but completely crushing the killer, which they were. It's like a football team going 10-0 and giving up because the other team scored a goal.

Yeah, which it what makes the whole thing confusing. You are about to win the game, so why give up? When you are more than 90% likely to win the match.

    @andyollolloll said:

DBD have introduced penalties to DCing which really need to be applauded and worked for a while until people realised what they could get away with and how.

The messages from people about how unfair DC bans were made me smile as in my humble opinion, if you choose to play a game then you play it and not DC because of something you dislike no matter how small or big.

Survivors who unhook for the BP should be far more heavily penalised when the survivor is immediately downed off the hook. I've had bond where survivors are all crouched waiting to race to that hook 1st for the points, like you say it just throws the game.

Yeah seeing people farm their fellow team mates. Is starting to make me think more and more, ds is not a perk to punish the killer but rather to protect you from the poor planning/choices of your team mates.

  • Survivor actions sometimes confuse me. Like i been playing alot of red rank survivor and many actions confuse the heck out of me. This story, just makes me go, what? Why would you throw the game, when the odds are so massively in your favor. It seems like a dumb reason to rage quit. Than again, i seen three survivors all kill themselves on first hook before, more than once. So, i really should not be surprise people will rage quit for the most interesting of reasons.

Yeah Myers is fun to play as and against, since he has so many add ons, leading to resulting in so many different styles of game play. You can play against three different Myers and they could all be running different builds, resulting in three totally different games from one another.

Yeah spirit is always relaxing to play. I'm not sure why but it just feels so relaxing to play spirit, just be casual and just have some fun. That and laughing when i mind game myself. That and they are also fun to play against. For it's alot of fun being able to trick and out wit a spirit and get away due to some classic mind gaming.

  • The survivors you are going up against, sounds like a majority of my team mates, i been getting lately. Just throw in a few failed flash light saves = dc and all of them killing themselves on first hook and bang. That shells up a majority red rank team mates for me. I seen purple and green rank survivors, be better than a majority of the red rank survivors i have seen. Like it less stressful to play a game where you got your rear handle to you, as a killer than it is to play solo in red ranks as survivor. Since at least i get a chance to play the game as killer and not be doomed right from the start, due to the other three survivors all killing themselves on first hook. That and due to me knowing i might of made a error or two, making it my own fault in part for the outcome and not be doomed purely due to forces outside of my control. For i'm no god survivor, i can't loop a killer around for five gens. I need team mates to help out here and there. So hopefully the new match making system will pair people up with team mates around their skill level.

For the most fun games be they as survivor or killer, are when people are close to the same skill level and it leads to a nice decent length game, where everyone gets a fair chance to play the video game and it's not a pure slaughter with in the first five minutes. Rather it a nice back and forth, with the tides turning one way in say favor of the survivors, only to turn back in favor of the killer. A fun match is like a good story, you can't be sure of the outcome until the very end. Hopefully the new match making system will lead to more of this.

  • Heck i know your pain. I use to get them all the time before the map changes. Which funny enough also happen as a sneaky killer. Maybe sneaky killers are just curse to get farm maps? Which i'm not sure if it was just unlucky rng on my part or maybe the game was saying, i should become a farmer. A corn farmer.

This rank 13 is even bad at face camping. This video proves nothing. If done properly a face camping Bubba can make rescue impossible. Its bs. Most don't do it, because it's truly pathetic, but there are a few.

Well it does prove something, that face camping is possible to escape from vs bad players. That and even while playing very poorly or doing barely anything in a match, they still got a kill. Now if the Bubba was a bit more skillful. The odds are, it would of been a four man slaughter with how people kept going for the saves. If anything, this video might favor that face camping might be very powerful for something that takes little skill. That and if we were going vs a more experience player. It could be seen as punishing survivors for doing something that is meant to be part of normal game play. Unhooking fellow survivors. Since face camping is massively different from survivors swarming the hook like Leeroy.

That and if we look at what happens during a normal game. The killer will go around, keeping the gens safe. Kicking them, breaking pallets. Hooking survivors twice. Hunting down and chasing survivors. Mind gaming here and there. A killer could do all of this and still end up with a 4 man escape on their hands. While a face camper, which takes massively less skill, even if they are very bad at the game. Are highly likely to if not always get one kill. Taking all of this into account, one could use it as showing face camping is super powerful for how little skill it takes. Since even someone like Otz, who is a highly skilled killer. Has had games where he only gotten a single kill, while putting in far more effort than a face camping Bubba.

  • Well sometimes you come across a person so stuck in their ways, they can't possibly accept they might be wrong or the thing they deny as being impossible, can work.

Like you can't escape a face camping bubba. Even when video proof exists, that yes, it is possible to escape from a face camping bubba. Yet show this proof to the person who thinks facecamping is impossible to escape from. They will deny it or simply fade away like a ghost, never admitting they might be wrong and possibly never to be seen again, in that thread at least. That or change the goal post, oh if the facecamper was a more intelligence or better player, they would of never escaped. Even when the original question was, is it impossible to escape from a facecamper?

When honestly, alot more agreement could most likely be reach. If more people played both sides, rather than only one side or the other. That way they could understand or relate to the other side, rather than treating them like the other aka the outgroup. Since playing one side, is a good way to get tunnel vision and only be able to see things from one point of view. Like oh say ds. If you seen some of Saminations latest steams, well some players do make questionable choices as to when to unhook someone. Leading to ds seem to be a perk, not to save you from the killer but rather to save you, from your team mates poor planning.

Yeah sometimes you just come across very interesting players or these who simply want to ruin someone's day. Heck i still remember the time i came across the infamous facecamping Bubba as survivor. Boy that was a interesting experience. That or the few times the survivors were throwing shade at one another, due to their team mates leaving them for dead. Yet overall, i would say i met way more friendly survivors. With a lot of nice back and forth. Like good job, you played well killer. With me going, nice team work. Lots of ggs. People also wishing me a good day or that i have good luck as well. So lots of positive experiences as well. That and also seen a number of friendly killers as well, posting them ggs. With heck, even seen understanding between killer and survivor, both agreeing it sucks when dead hard fails to work. Sometimes you do get to see some wonderful positive things as well.

  • Oh my. When every i play survivor and a killer gives me the hatch. I always go thanks for the mercy or thanks for the hatch, something along these lines. Of course i also happen to be a killer that if a game goes well for me, i will give the last person the hatch. I just cannot think of a faster way to turn a killer from friendly into murderous rage, than being unthankful for the hatch, by insulting the killer for showing mercy, when they didn't need to.

i once had a swf (that i 4k) give me ######### saying that i wasted 400 hours on the game and for me to enjoy the depip then i told them i just started to play this month, didnt depip, and only have 40 hours on the game (right now i have like 46 hours) but they said it was all lies and that im ######### at the game.

I had a case like that and the single person talking smack. Was funny enough, the only one who died. I waited to see what move they would make, it was end game. They took a wrong turn and ran towards me. I stab them and hook them. Trying to go we kick your but, going oh yeah i'm glad you depip. Since somehow a safely pip, is depiping. All the other survivors were far nicer than the one who died. Showing, hmm. Yeah the one person might of been a bit salty, due to dying.

Of course the worst case i came across had to be when i first started playing the game. Oh yes, nothing like being told my family should catch a certain disease. For at the time, i was new. All gens got done. Got a person and hook them near end game. When to look around to see if anyone was nearby. Thinking their friends might be nearby, since it happen before. I hook someone and than they got unhooked quickly. The two other survivors, rather than team up to save their friend. Escape and left them for dead. Than wish all sorts of lovely things on me. I had no idea if there was something i did wrong, which it didn't help when oh hey. All they did was basically wish bad things upon me and my family.

Of course another story i have, which is more like what. Was a game where three blood party steamers were thrown up. It was a farm map before the current update. Yeah i didn't take that game very serious. Just made sure to hook everyone once, for my bbq stacks and than just played super casual and relaxed. Not really caring much about the outcome. That and i didn't want to be the only one who benefited from the blood party steamers. Wanted everyone to get a few points. So the results were a four man escape. One of the survivors type ez. Than i just said gg, since well i guess it was true. Since farm map on a 115% movement speed killer. I followed it up with good luck and have fun. The one survivor type again and call me a incel. I was very confused and just typed ok. Than fellow it up with, well have a good day everyone. The whole experience was very confusing. The survivor was rank 18, the only one to speak. Since i had no idea what their reasoning or logic was for saying incel, that and everyone got a fair amount of blood points from the match. So again, their words just confused me more than anything else. They got 24k blood points plus all the bonuses from blood party steamers. It was basically a win win for everyone and yet that one person, acted in a very confusing way, that just made me wonder what their logic was.

My friend just got "hooked" (his words, not mine) on DBD and was actually commenting on how supportive the survivors have been as he's learning to play killer. He's still getting matched with red ranked survivors, but they have been very supportive when they see his brown rank.

Reminds me of a few games i had, where me and another survivor felt bad for the killer. Once we notice, oh they were a super low rank, below 13.

Like we were wishing they at least got more points. For all the survivors came out with more points than the killer. It really just felt bad to see someone clearly new to the game, not really get much of a chance to play or points, with how quick these games were. Due to the survivors being rainbow colors and being clearly far more experience than the killer.

  • Yeah some of the "best" related post i have seen towards taking issue with a killer power, has to be ghostface. Hey lets fix the bugs related to revealing him. No that would be the smart thing to do. No no no. Lets make it easier to reveal him, by not letting the reveal bar reset. When it takes less than 2 seconds to fully reveal him and puts his power on cool down for 30 seconds base kit, less if they have recovery add ons.

That or someone who believed it was unfair ghostface got a warning someone was trying to reveal him or for 2 seconds, he happens to know where a single person is. Due to the survivor playing correctly. So their idea was to nerf ghostface into the ground, anytime a survivor reveal ghostface, all four survivors would know where he is. So it's unfair ghostface gets to know where a single survivor is, yet three survivors who didn't do anything to reveal him, it's fine to reward them for doing nothing and somehow that is a fair trade for letting ghostface keep the warning he is being revealed and knows where someone is for 2 seconds. When not a single other sneaky killer is punish this heavily for failing to be sneaky. It like the logic made no sense. Like if it was unfair to punish a survivor for playing correctly, how is it fair to reward three survivors for doing nothing? Like if the idea was all about being fair, this idea would be even more unfair than how ghostface currently works. It was just simply a bad idea, that i don't think the person who came up with it, apply their own standards to this idea.

Which heck, not long ago, had a game vs someone using noed. Their build at the end, look like a random one that they just slap together, due to not having alot of perks yet. Since i think only one or two was tier three, the rest were tier two or one. Yeah i was playing survivor and got dead due to noed at the end. I think i was already on death hook or second hook, one or two people were already dead by the time we reach end game. Yet the post game chat, i just said gg. The killer said gg back. Everyone was nice and friendly. Now going by certain individuals, i should of acted like it was the end of the world. When no not really. It's just one match and there is always the next. That and the team i was with. Had a very rough start. We pull it together later on however. So it was still a fun match. I mean heck, everyone got a fair chance to play the video game with how long that match when on. That and a fair number of blood points. So basically it was a gg.

..Actually, yes..Kind of It takes 80 seconds to solo a generator without perks.

It takes 120 seconds to die on the hook, from first hook, if you struggle.

If all 3 remaining Survivors solo gens while the Killer camps, that's 3/5 Generators done. And that's not counting the time it took to chase someone, down them, and carry them to a hook, which I'd estimate adds another 40-ish seconds.

Meaning, in the space of ONE chase-hook-death, it takes 160 seconds for one person to die.

That's enough time for everyone to do TWO generators each, solo & without perks, for 6/5 generators done.

I was face camped before in a game against a bubba. I held out as long as possible for my team. Everyone did gens, all five gens were done. Yet the one error they made was at the end. They try to save me, rather than getting the heck out. Turning a 3 man escape, into a 4 man slaughter. It totally can be done, you can get the gens done vs a face camper.

Which heck it being possible to escape from a face camper. You don't have to take my word for it. Ohm proves it's possible with video footage. Of course the face camper, was far from the most intelligence player around, lets just say.

Ok, but what if I'm thirsty for those unhook points and hide 2.5 feet away from the hook for the duration of the sacrifice?

The killer is preventing me from playing MY WAY!

You do know, sooner or later, you should notice they are being facecamped. So rather than doing what is best for your odds of escape, doing the objective aka gens, you just sit there and watch them die like the killer. If the hooked survivor doesn't kill themselves on hook and struggles.

That and couldn't you make the killer is stopping you from playing your way, vs even killers who are playing the game legit? Like it being a better idea to spread out and remain injured vs a Legion but what if you play style is to always remain healthy, wouldn't legion stop you from doing that or at least make it a questionable idea? Plague you are force to make the choice of remaining injured or granting Plague her power, hope you were not planning on being the team healer this game. Ghostface, you have to look around with your eyes or use spine chill, rather than relaying on hearing his terror radius. Freddy you have to wake up to use borrow time. Heck, by going against certain killers, you are already force to do certain things, if you want to use a perk or simply not die. Since huntress and Deathslinger can make windows and pallets way more dangerous, if they have good aim.

  • Have you ever wish to be a edgy teenage who listens to linkin park, a living breathing 28 stab wound meme? That or have you ever desire to be Sonic or just a desire to gotta go fast but also be edgy while doing it? Legion is for you.

Have you ever desire to be a evil master mind or watch to much gargoyles and suddenly have a desire to be like a mini David Xanatos but on a much smaller scales and with traps, where you watch everything slowly go just as plan, as you just laugh evilly while survivors fall into your carefully place traps? Than Trapper is for you.

Yeah, matchmaking has been...rough to say the least lately.

As a Killer, I keep getting put in against teams of barely sentient potatoes that managed to turn a video game system on and start a game of DBD. As frustrating as getting a SWAT SWF Team to go against, it isn't exactly fun to have a group of survivors clearly have no idea what they're doing to play against either. I have had so many games lately where I just absolutely slaughter the survivors with no real effort on my part. It's gotten to the point where I am pretty routinely smacking survivors and then breaking off the chase myself just to give them a chance to not get murdered.

As a solo survivor, it's amazing to be on those teams now and wonder "Wow...was I really THIS bad at some point?". On the plus side sometimes it isn't so bad for me as I also seem to be put with new killers too and can (relatively) easily dodge and juke them. As long as I can manage to not get myself caught, my potato teammates are usually not a big deal for me but you are super fuqed if the killer does manage to catch you as the potato is the most timid and afraid creature and will come nowhere near the hook if there is a possible chance that the killer might at some point be within 500 meters of the hook you are stuck on...

This is basically the truth right here for the solo experience. I was playing Bill, i lost count how many times i saved the Davids and the other player who died. Thank the lords for borrow time. Turns out oh hey, they were new [rank 13 or below] and so was the huntress. I somehow double pip from dying. First time i mess up, i was placed on hook and well, i died on that hook. The Davids seem scare shirtless, fearing to come anywhere near that hook or to even do a gen.

Which i was surprise i double pip from a match i died in.

  • Well there is only one thing to say to this.

Death has come to your little town sheriff.

  • @Entity_Hugs said:

Aside from my already state arguments; what constitutes 'camping'?

I've had Survivor SWF teams 'report' me 'for camping' and 'playing toxic' because they tried to unhook 2.5 seconds after I hooked, and legit felt they had a right to a free unhook. They treat 'report' as a stick and attempt to beat Killers into submission by claiming they'll report them if they don't get their way.

If camping was bannable, literally every salty Survivor player (I'm not saying good OR bad players, just the angry ones), would file camping reports for being hit during an unsafe unhook, or for being seen running towards a hook and attacked, or for seeing the Killer near the hook 5 microseconds after hooking someone. It would be used to bully and harass Killers..

..Almost exactly how the old camping punishment was abused & used to bully Killers. 🙃

You know, you bring up a good point. Since we have no idea what counts as camping from the op post. Unless we go with the idea they meant a face camping bubba. That will down the first person they see, put them on hook and watch them die, while attacking anyone who dares to come close. Yet we don't really know. Which is kind of important if we all wanna talk about this, by laying out a clear meaning as to what the term means. Since without that, well what counts as camping to one person, might be normal gameplay to another. Leading to more fighting over the meaning of the term, than any real talk about. Yet to put that aside for now. Lets dig into it.

There are some people who go, yeah camping aka staying near the hook is ok sometimes, like during the end game after all gens are done. That or if you see marks leading to the hook, it's ok to look around or say if you spot a survivor swarming towards the hook right in front of you, it's ok to stay there or nearby.

Now from what i seem, most would say the face camping bubba is bad, who gone out of their way to ruin the fun of someone for no reason. Yet we also know, not every case of camping aka staying near the hooked person, is due to face camping bubba reasons. So the question like always, when a thread like this pop up, is well. How do you punish face camping bubba's without punishing legit players? If we go with the idea not every single time camping happens, is bad. That and are these players new? Maybe they don't know any better and a better tutorial might be needed.

Now lets flip things around for a moment, If camping is always bad and needs to be punished, well what counts as camping? How would you punish it without effecting legit players? Since a killer needs to be near the hook, when well hooking someone. So how long can a killer be near a hooked person before getting punished? For that is an idea i seen once before, the killer should be punished if they stay to close to the hook. Which there are many cases where a Killer might stay near the hook longer than normal. Hook is right next to a gen. So kick that, there is also a pallet nearby. Destroy that and than on their way. That or down two people in the same area. Pick one up, hook them, pick up the other person. Hook them as well, with both hooks being near one another. A fair number of legit reasons, as to why, well a killer is nearby the hook longer than normal.

Yet like a majority of these threads, all we hear is camping is bad and no real idea how to fix it or ideas that have already been brought up and shown to be easily abuse. Which just makes it seem like, the camping issue, seems way harder to fix than many seem to think.

"A complete waste of time". So... playing DbD isn't fun and you just want bloodpoints to unlock more stuff to play a game that's a waste of time unless you're unlocking things? I don't quite follow this line of reasoning. :)

On my stream we do "play with the viewers" nights, and we play KYF, and nobody complains about it being "a complete waste of time". We have fun! Except maybe when that Legion master shows up and kicks our asses. ;)

Saying a single game mode is a waste of time due to lack of rewards, Is not the same as saying everything in dead by daylight is a waste of time. Since the other ways to play the game, does offer rewards. I felt the need to point this out. For the op never once said playing this game as a whole was a waste of time, only a single game mode.

  • @Xzan said:

    I know that feeling OP.

Some survivors will just throw themselfes at you and call it tunneling. If they make a mistake (like selfcaring under the hook where they just got rescued), it's tunneling again. I mean, it's better to blame others, instead of looking at the situation as a whole and learn from it.

Or they use OoO and accuse me of tunneling. Yeah buddy, you have a big X on you. If I can't find another target, why should I ignore you?

Same goes for some killers who call an efficient survivorteam (be it swf or not) genrusher or running tiles optimal toxic.

It's always fun to find survivors self caring, while running sloppy and nurses.

That or some survivors, seem to have a six sense of knowing how to run straight into the killer and jump scaring them.

Which i have been on awesome teams before and fought against them. Like sometimes gens just go fast on good team. Even had a good post game chat with one. Praising them for their team work, i was the killer. They praise me as well. It was a nice and friendly back and forth. It was good times for everyone. I would love to play against them again. That and it awesome just being on a good team.

Which i think i only got called a gen rusher once. Due to soloing as i do 100% of the time. Bringing prove thyself for the blood points. Someone else also brought prove thyself, which made the killer thing genrushing. When not a single person brought along a toolbox. Which the term always seem odd. So it's a bad thing? Like that what survivors do, repair the gens and sometimes they do it quickly for one reason or another.

For information purposes lot of survivors seem to think that if they get unhooked, then immediately begin working on a generator and then think that they are being tunneled. Which results in toxic behaviour.

One of the biggest issues in this game is player entitlement, it's not just survivors, there are entitled killers too. Today I was playing killer after not playing for three months. I was receiving a lot of post game toxicity from SWF groups because they thought I tunneled one of their friends despite the reason I went after them was due to them working on a generator.

I play survivor more then I play killer, and I'm also a better survivor then I am as a killer, which makes me a survivor main. Not to mention I have Jake as my profile avatar.

Thank you for helping to be information. Like the more people know what is and is not tunneling, the easier it would be to come to agreement on things.

    @LetsPlayTogether said:

It doesnt matter what the survivors does. If you straight up go for him after unhook its tunneling. Stop justifying your cheap play with even cheaper "arguments".

You do know how poor your logic is there right? That a survivor can dance around the killer in circles, can follow the killer around like a lost puppy dog. The survivor can work on a gen in front of the killer's face and due to being unhooked, they are immune to anything bad happening to them. For some unknown amount of time, going by your logic. Did you think this over for five seconds before posting this idea? That and tunneling is focusing purely on one person, above and beyond any logical reason, even when it would benefit them to focus on someone else. Which in this game, one of the killer's goals is to keep survivors off gens. Downing them or injuring them, to chase them off, is a great way to get them off a gen. Yet a killer would have to shut down their brain and let a survivor finish a gen in front of them, due to just getting unhooked. So a killer legit has to do something that goes against their best interest, to favor the survivors. You are aware that is basically what your idea is, right?

  • Well i think i know what i will be doing, once the hotfix finishes downloading and unpacking. Some Myers games baby.

I would take a normal Freddy anytime over a pallet Freddy. Pallet Freddy make me go, nothing is real. Nothing is real. Everything is a lie, even the cake. I bet my fellow survivors are not even real. Basically it just makes me suffer from paranoia and not trusting a single pallet i come across. Yet it always feel good to escape vs a Freddy or get that last gen done, to allow the others to escape. For Freddy's like a dark soul boss. Challenging and rewarding for beating them. Of course i also think spirit is fun to play against. So i might just be insane.

If Survivors "honed their skills" in the way to red ranks, why most people here agree that red rank Survivors can be just as potato and boosted as a rank 15 Survivor?

It's safe to say that both you and OP don't play enough Killer games to know what you are talking about.

Honestly, i think some people just want to make it seem like killer take no skill. That or they just get four kills all the time. Which begs the question. How the heck did i a solo player, escape vs not only a Freddy with noed but also a endless tier three Myers during the current update? If killer is so easy, no matter what you do as a survivor. It will lead to your death. How is four man escapes still possible with this current update?

    @[Deleted User] said:

If survivors honed their skills all the way to red ranks, then can you "skilled people" please stop missing healing skill checks and stabbing me in the ass over and over again and revealing our position to the killer? Thanks.

Seriously, I don't know how people miss the healing skill checks all the time in red ranks. The bloody thing takes up nearly 1/3rd of the skill check bubble.

Thank you for bringing up survivor skill. For it's like the one thing we have no idea about in these matches. Are these survivors good at playing the game? Bad at playing the game? What is the skill level of the killer and what adds on are they using? Like some people trying to judge killers on how easy it is to get kills. Yet that seems like it would be a poor way of looking at things from a balance stand point. Since any killer who is worth their salt, could get a three k or four k vs a team of newbies survivors, depending on if one finds the hatch or not. While flip it around and of course any newbie killer is going to get destroy by experience survivors. It's like the one factor we are unaware of. Since skill can massive change how a game plays out.

a rare 4 man escape vs Freddy.jpg escape vs endless tier three myers.jpg

  • I still been seeing three man escapes, 4 man escapes, 2 man escapes. Like survivors don't have zero chance. In fact, their odds of escaping are alot higher than that. A killer still need skill to get their kills. That and killer range? Are we talking about killers like Huntress or the lunge attack?

Like i highly doubt face camping is happening every game. If it is legit happening every single game, that is some bad luck. Yet i doubt it happening, since it's a fear of being facecamped, not it happening in every game.

What is up with all of these threads by people who are new, with very few posts, going and saying killers get free four kills, they need to be nerf? It honestly makes them sound like they have never played killer before in their life. Like heck, so many of these threads are copy and paste. Killer need nerfs. Killers op, killers super easy to play and get free four kills. There was only like one, that even offer a slightly decent point. Like here, there is no point being made as to how killers are easy. Unless you count face camping, then in that case. It's more like a so called "tactic" killers can use and is not any single killer being due op due to their movement speed, base kit or add ons. Which you would have to change the game it's self to deal with face camping, not nerfing killers. Since you could nerf a killer into the ground and be as slow as burger king Myers, weak as clown and it wouldn't stop someone from face camping if they really wanted to. Unless you add something new to the game or change the way it's played to make it impossible or heavily punish face camping.

  • @Bovinity said:

Neither, how you play is up to you.

That said, just keep in mind that NO survivor would EVER return that favor. (As in, "Oh, everyone else escaped, I'll leave the exit gate and let the killer get me just to be nice.")

But they expect hatch every time, of course.

Well i seen that happen a few times, survivors offering up themselves to be hooked. Just way more rarer than a killer that gives the last person the hatch. From what i seen at last.

Im KINDA the same, like if I see some BPS I do play like normal but I tend to just hook everyone twice, then slug around, letting them go in the end.

Once had a game where there were three blood party steamers thrown up. I got my bbq stacks and after that. I was happy. Like i played that match super casually. For i wanted everyone to get some points, to best get use out of these blood party steamers. Since well, i didn't bring them. The survivors did and it would really suck for them, if they got jack in return for their blood party steamers. Had way more games, where it just one blood party steamers and sometimes i didn't even know one was used. Due to looking somewhere else while the offerings where being shown. In that case, well i just play the game normally. Let the dice fall where they will.

To be fair, playing in a fair way is different from letting two people go. If you dont slug, dont tunnel, dont camp you are playing fair and are even playing fair when you go for the 4K (or a 3K with Hatch escape, if you dont care for that last Survivor getting away).

Letting 2 escape is more than just "playing fair", thats why I wrote earlier it is really nice. But to be honest, I would find it strange if I get sacrificed and two others get to escape for no reason.

When it comes to slugging. I heard so many people have massively different things to say on it. Some go it's evil. Some go it's fine if it a Oni due to that being Oni's play style. Some see it as legit, if done under certain things. It ok if you are dropping the survivor to go deal with the others trying to bodyblock or are destroying nearby hooks. Like it just seems to be a coin flip, if it a good thing or a bad thing, depending on who you ask. With the only time i seen people seem to agree on slugging is bad, is when it's to let all the survivors bleed out slowly.

  • Heck, i normally let the last person go aka whoever is alive at the end. Unless i need that bbq stack. Unless they get to the hatch first. Than gg and onto the next game.

  • @ermsy said:

Maybe it's a PC thing but on ps4 I don't get many tunneling and camping killers. But I do run kindred just in case, it just counters camping.

Honestly, i don't see it very often on the pc. Maybe i'm just lucky or my meaning of tunneling is totally different from others. Since i have seen that before, two people have a totally different meaning on what tunneling is. One will go with the classic, focusing on one person above and beyond any logical reason, even when it would benefit them to go after someone else. While another person will go, hitting the person who just got unhooked, no matter what just happen. With the first meaning, giving a rather clear cut cases as to what it means, focusing on sololy on person. While the second one, doesn't take into any context. With how popular burrow time is. Well they might of been hitting the hooked survivor for that reason. To force them to mend and waste more of their time healing up. That or slug them, so they can safely chase after the saver. Having three people off gens.

Of course there are certain folks that do like to make x group out to be the bad ones. All survivors are bad folk. All killers are bad folk. For they play into the in group vs out group mind set, rather than remembering each player is a individual.

Not to forget there was a thread awhile ago, asking people. What do you find to be rude or unsportsman like in game. Where you had many different answers, some of them conflicting with one another. For well each individual had their own personal standard for what counts as rude or unsportsman like. Heck one person was going they will report Oni players, for using an add on the killer has. That and different people had way different means for slugging. Some were like oh yeah, it just to make them all bleed out and die. While another person was fine with slugging, if it was used to apply pressure and not just have the survivor bleed out. Like say an Oni running fright, they could down one person and than see someone else on fright, dash to them and down them. Forcing three people off gens. Which would be to the Oni favor. Since less people doing gens, means the killer has more time to do as they please.

You know.... if killers didn't tunnel, camp or slug, then Unbreakable, Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike would basically be useless....

I think the point of the post is that if it weren't for those undesirable killer behaviors, then the "meta" perks would most likely cease to be popular or even necessary. You might have the cheeky gamers who try and waste your time with DS, or unhook right behind your back with BT, but many gamers (including myself) wouldn't feel the need to take the perks if slugging, tunnelling and camping weren't a trend among most killers.

You could beat dark souls with a broken sword and wearing a dress which offers very little protection. Yet most people don't do that. Rather they will use armor and spells that fit their build or benefit them in some fashion. Why? For it useful to their build or the spell in general is very powerful to the point of why wouldn't you use it? It like a video game boss with glowing weak points, of course you are going to aim at them. For it benefits you or going back to dark souls, upgrading your weapons and armor. Why? For it benefits you and aids you, it just common sense to use things that are powerful and greatly benefit you. In the case of lightning upgrade, that can make certain bosses a push over or at least way easier, due to their weakness being lightning. Even if a killer never dropped anyone, they are carrying to a hook, even with the hooks being destroy, left, right and center, with the other survivors bodyblocking, letting the person who ran into them after getting unhook go. Oni ignoring someone they saw nearby on fright, when they still have a good bit of time left on their power. I doubt most of these perks would suddenly suffer from a massive drop in use. Due to being useful and rather powerful.

Borrow time, can make what is normally a very risky save from say the basement, into something that is far less risky and making you the ideal person for the job to pull it off. Since you brought along borrow time. That way, if the killer is chasing a fellow survivor who is leading them towards the basement for some reason or is looping nearby the basement, for some reason. Since it does happen, that survivors will sometimes loop around their hooked team mates. Well no matter the case, you hear the terror radius, which active burrow time. So if the killer doesn't wait out the burrow time or hits the survivor in hopes of slugging them before going after the saver. Well that gives the survivor who got unhooked a speed boost and puts them into mending, helping them to get away or at very least wast time, if the killer really wanted to tunnel them and not say simply slug them for pressure, [aka slug the unhook person, down and hook the saver, while a third person heals the slug person to get three people off gens]. Well in that case, we see more of the killer time is wasted. While allowing 2 survivors to be doing gens all the time. It only takes a little over 6 minutes to do gens, if survivors are not using anything to boost the gen speeds and are working on them solo. Which is why pop is meta on the killer side. It helps to slow down gens. Giving the killer way more time. Something that is otherwise very limited. That and going back to burrow time here. Unhooking, is something you will always be doing in a match, unless you are putting four experience survivors vs a killer who just brought the game or someone that is really bad as killer.

Yet if we look at dead hard, sprint burst, it helps you to get away or at the very least, gives the survivor more time in a chase. Making it take longer, if a killer stays on them and doesn't switch target. Being able to waste the killers time, is always a good thing. Giving their fellow survivors more time to work on gens, without having to unhook someone. Iron will, can make it easier to get away from the killer while injured, to take David. David breathing is soft, while he is loud as heck while injured. Making him way easier to find while injured. Throw on iron will and the killer has a harder time tracking them, which might allow the survivor to get away thanks to that. Giving their team mates all the more time to do gens. Which at some point or another, during a match. A survivor is going to get injured. Making it always have some value or allow you to pull off things like hiding near the killer, without your injured sounds giving you away.

Now what do sprint burst or other perks like it aka dead hard, balance landing and ect, do for the survivor? Makes it easier to get away or give you more time in a chase. Which will always be useful during a match. Iron will, helps you to be sneaky while injured and possibly lose the killer. Burrow time, makes it easier to make safe unhooks. Unhooking fellow survivors also being something common in game. All of these perks and what they share in common, is simple, they benefit the survivor greatly, doing things that are super common in game. Unhooking, being injured or being in chase or to put it simply. It benefits them, for doing things they were already going to do or things that were most likely going to happen anyway in the game aka being injured.

With unbreakable might be the one closest to being purely on the killer actions at first look. Since well to blame Iron Will on the killer, would be akin to yelling at them for trying to win the video game. Yet even unbreakable could pop due to the killer reacting to the survivors actions. Bodyblocking, destroying all nearby hooks. Leading to the Killer a keep on carrying the person in hopes they will get to another hook in time, risk losing the survivor or b drop the survivor, leaving them on the ground to go and stab the other survivors that are busy trying to stop you from hooking their buddy. Which could lead to granting the down survivor, enough time to get back up with unbreakable and escape. That or in cases where whole teams swarm the hook, for some survivor teams are a bit to eager for their own good, to save others. Often leading them to all die, rather than save the person on hook. Due to going Leeroy Jenkins. Leading to slugging being more of a benefit than hooking, just due to survivors swarming around the place like flies. That or survivor after survivor for some reason try to heal a down team mate, while a Oni was in demon dash, making it a error on the survivor part and unbreakable in that case, allows them to fix their error in judgement and give them a second chance. Since a killer can only hook one person at a time. Yet depending on the context, unbreakable could not be due to the killer wanting to slug but due to the survivors making massive leaps and errors in judgement, that lead to them all being downed. Making the killer have to be the nicest person in the world or dumb, to not use a error his foes made against them. There is a reason why the saying. "don't interrupt when your enemy is making a mistake" exists.

Ds, is possibly the only one you could see as the killer fault, normally. Since there are cases of survivors jumping in and out of lockers, sometimes near a gen. Working on a gen in front of the killer's face. In other words, not all survivors use the perk as it was meant for aka counter tunneling but rather employ it in different ways, using it as a 60 second get out of jail free card. Which makes it very powerful, that you can't be touch for 60 seconds and have freedom to do as you please. No matter how stupid or poorly plan your next series of actions are. That and we also have cases of survivors not looking behind them or in front of them, who have habits of running right into the killer, even when the killer is not looking for them. Who get down due to their own poor actions and lack of awareness. Which the only way a killer can ignore ds is to slug. We also have classic cases of farming, survivors unhooking their fellow survivor right in front of the killer without burrow time, trying to farm them. Which in this case, well if the killer slugs before going after the saver, they are still the bad guy. If the killer tries to hook the person again, they are the bad guy for tunneling, when it was the fault of another survivor pulling off a risky/foolish save, without even trying to bodyblock for their team mate. While the saver who made a poor judgement, is forgotten about, which in honestly in that case, the survivor trying to farm should be the one to blame. Yes in some cases it best to go after the saver rather than the injured person, which could be seen as punishing the survivor for trying to farm by some. Yet for the killer, if they can pull it off. Downing the injured survivor [due to no borrow time] and than going after the healthy saver. That would benefit them the most logically. Since it would be the choice that is most likely to get more survivors off gens and force into doing other actions. That or if the survivor does have burrow time, hitting the survivor to force them to mend, could still make them waste time. Which would favor the killer, even if the only person they down is the saver. Since well, the person unhook has to waste time mending and not just healing up to favor.

Alot of things that happen in game depend on context. Since not every match is going to be the same. That and even if every killer played nicely and didn't do anything that might seem unfair or unsportsman like in a match. Meta perks for the most part would still be meta or at least a majority of them would still remain meta, due to how bloody useful they are in general and how you will get used out of them in most, if not every single match you find yourself in.

Try to pip with basically no benelovent points because everyone killed their self or DCed, what also makes harder to get other points like objectives since you are the last one and you are trying to find a hatch not do gens

I been there before. Three team mates got hooked, all of them kill themselves on first hook. Leaving me alone, with no time to do anything. The killer didn't even bring a mori and wasn't even face camping. They just did it for no bloody reason i could think of. Leading to a short game, with few blood points and a free depip. Like it just seems impossible to get a safely pip when that happens, all of your team mates give up for no real reason. So you are left no time at all, to do gens, break totems, you can't save anyone, heal up other survivors. That and any chase would be super risky, since you are the last one left.

Unless the killer is very understanding or merciful. Odds are you are going to depip. Which the thing i always want to know is why my team mates killed themselves. For they didn't just screw over their fellow survivor but also the killer, by denying both of them points.

I think this was a balanced move. Maybe players just need to learn how to play and stop pointing fingers because I don’t know what else could’ve been done.

Yeah so far things seem more balance. With the new update. Of course it only been a few days. So more time will be needed to truly get a feel for how much the changes truly effect the overall experience. Yet it kind of funny how on one hand, we have threads going killer takes no skill and than on the other hand, we have threads about how the game is not balance or fair for killers.

Weird, I play all kinds of killers and I must say, it's not walk in a park for me even when I am rank 1 and get often matched against low rank players. Sure, it's not the greatest challenge I could ask for, but certainly it is not as easy as you make it sound. Doctor doesn't blast the entire map exposing everyone, I often have to find my prey just like every other killer, if that's a point you are trying to make with him.

Have not played doctor with the current update. Have played him a bit in the past. With my experiences being the same as yours. I could not blast the entire map. There would be times i use his power and found no one with it.

Of course i have played ghostface and Ghostface has only a 40 metre stalk range. He can stalk from very far away, if on the right map and there is nothing blocking their line of slight. Which relays on a number of things being ideal for ghostface. Line of slight to say a gen, a survivor at said gen or good line of slight and someone running around in said area. With no one else being nearby that can reveal ghostface before he can stalk them. That and there are some maps, that offer very little cover. Making it rather easy to reveal ghostface. That and a skill a ghostface has to learn, is when to choose who to stalk and who to just go in for the stab against, unless they are just playing no stalk ghostface. Not to forget the mind gaming, any killer needs to learn.

Honestly it just seems like a wave of people have just come to the forums, to make it seem like killers take no skill. Due to the update. When it not even a week old yet. I doubt most people have gotten used to the changes yet. When honestly, if you put a newbie killer against survivors with some experience in the game. I doubt the killer will get a free 4k, as some are making it out to be. Rather i'm sure the experience survivors will win, due to knowing the game, the loops better than the newbie killer. Which the best part i love about all of the posts claiming killers in general take no skill, has to be the lack of any proof. With heck, one person in this very thread claiming red rank survivors are simply lacking in skill and are not as skilled as they use to be. Which does bring up a very good point. How skilled are the survivors? Since any killer will seem overpowered vs a group of survivors who have no idea what they are doing.

Ah the 5th to 8th killer perk slots. I always love it when I know survivor has Self Care. It's always nice to know someone is helping the killer by wasting time in the corner. Less gen pressure and more killer pressure is always nice.

I have seen that happen a fair few times before, when running nurses and sloppy. Lots of fun.
