Can I upload a pic of me going against rank 9 survivors with trash perks and get a 4k'd them and claim that killers get free 4k's?
Can I upload a pic of me going against rank 6 survivors using gen rushing builds and 4k'd them and claim that killer get free 4k's?
2 games are nothing, try harder.
If you read the back and forth between my and Orion, you would of already notice. I agree with him more data is needed, to see just how easy or hard it is for survivors right now.
For as i stated before, the game has over 30k people on steam playing it, currently. So yes one or two matches might not mean much in the grand sum of things. Since we will need to see how games are going for other players. Since i could offer up 100 games and yet that would still be a very small sample size, when talking about a 30k player base. Yet if someone can have a 4k escape vs a Freddy with noed. It does make it seem like, maybe killers don't get free 4ks. Since as you have brought up in this post.

is a rank 9 boosted freddy with trash perks, what you can expect lol
Well you say the Freddy is boosted. Which does make it seem like, at least a little bit of skill is needed for a killer to get their 4k and not handed to them on a silver plate. Since well the dead zone issue Orion brought up, which is legit and has been proven by others. In different threads, only effects certain maps. Which is why i listed the maps the games took place on. Going back to the dead zones. Swamp being one of the maps, that can suffer from bad rng leading to the dead zone issue. With the Devs currently looking into this as well, so depending on when they roll out the next hot fix or patch. The number of dead zones might be lessen to a fair degree. Which would be a good thing. Since well, survivors do need something to keep themselves alive. That and maps should be ideally balance. For both sides or in reality, as close as possible.
With the screen shots i show off, everyone was with in 6 ranks of each other. That is funny enough, match marking working as it should for once.

Wow. But I dont think 1 match is indicative of anything. He must have been REALLY bad to get a 0k as Freddy.
I will agree with you on one match not meaning much in the grand scheme of things. Since the game does have over 30k players in game on steam right now, as i am writing this. It is rather possible the majority might of have different experiences. When it comes to escapes vs killers. So more data would be needed to really know how easy or hard it is for survivors currently.

While I am in favor of finding a way to prevent rage quit hook suicides in a way that would make them either completely be a thing of the past or partly punished behavior, I can't support the idea that you get dc penalty for it. There are cases where I struggle on the hook and my finger slips the keyboard and I miss a tap and my character dies because of it - It's freaking frustrating I tell you and I would be a lot more happier if I did not have to rapidly tap my keyboard to a breakingpoint whenver I am on the hook or struggling from killer's hold, but for some reason the developers think that's entertaining so it has remained in the game since day 1.
Yeah after a few games in a row as survivor. Mashing that space bar, can get tiring after awhile. Always fearing i will slip up or not press it fast enough. For sometimes it takes awhile to get you off hook, for one reason or another. While it feels like your strength is fading from your hand, as you have to keep rapidly pressing that button or death.
Not to forget, lag could also make you mess up and lead to your death on second hook. Making the idea the op wants to put in, seems like it will have the issue of punishing legit players. Who didn't mash the space bar fast enough or got screwed over by lag. If anything, struggle really needs to be change. To be less of a pain for the player. Like only needing to hold the space bar. Since as of right now, to many possible factors that could lead to punishing a legit player, if the op idea was put into place.

What? How do you get a 0k as Freddy WITH NoED?
Well to give more context for the Freddy match. Their noed totem was found rather quickly, shortly after it when off. It was the totem in bottom half of the school house. I found it and destroy it, someone else save the person off the hook, who was the unlucky victim of noed and than it turned into a 4man escape.
Which yes i was also surprise myself when it happen. Since normally it's the other way around when it comes to a Freddy. Normally it's a slaughter house. Not a 4 man escape.

a rare 4 man escape vs Freddy.jpg escape vs endless tier three myers.jpg@Orionbash said:
If you're having problems after the last patch then I'm really not sure what to tell you. Its free 4ks for killers now with deadzones galore, loss of safe pallets, and no time to do totems due to gens taking longer and teammates going down faster.
I'd suggest using perks that balance what you're bad at or just use NoED like every killer does now.
4 man escape vs a Freddy with Noed. Map was badham Preschool.
4 man escape vs a endless tier three Myers, which is basically noed without a speed boost. Map was Lery's memorial institute.
Both of these games took place during the current patch aka the one you claim gives killers free 4ks. So x to doubt, killers just get free 4ks.

Or they run off in a different direction when I get unhooked. It's also unlimited uses, and unconditional which to me makes it better than Inner Strength.
That and does pair well together with a number of other perks. Like Botany knowledge, spine chill, resilience. You can easily make a build with it, to become the team healer. Which i have done a few times as David. It's so much fun, knowing where all your injured team mates are thanks to empathy, than rushing to their aid and healing them up lightning fast like a Oni in demon dash.

Yeah, some team mates. Seem to wanna do anything but heal up their team mates. Even when it's perfectly safe to do so.

Self care, allows you to heal yourself without a Med kit. Did you mix it up with Solo survivor by chance?

Which having look it up. It takes 1.5 seconds for a survivor to break ghostface out of reveal. So if progress didn't reset for a ghostface reveal. It would be rather easy to break him out of his power. Since it doesn't take long in the first place [going with the idea everything is working as it should and nothing is buggy] and this would make it way easier. Maybe a bit to easy to break ghostface out of his power.

If I owned spirit or the perk I'd probably use rancor for it as it seems like a fun perk but I don't. I'm still relatively new so have very few teachables making things pretty rough sometimes. Until then mori time for those.
Heck, if you have my luck with rng for blood webs. That would most likely be the cheaper way of getting it done as well. I had to spend like half a million blood points, just to get pop on my Oni. I think i came across like a fair few moris, before i even saw pop show up once on my Oni's bloodweb.
-
Well ghostface could do with bugs related to his reveal being fixed. His add ons could use some looking over. Since Ghostface current best add ons are the recovery ones. Which a ghostface will want, if he wants to play to the best of their ability. Now i would leave the recovery adds on the same, while looking over the others. That and maybe make it more rewarding for a ghostface who successful stabs a expose target, like say one second off their cooldown. Not alot [i use one second for i'm not sure if a higher number would be balance or not, that and with recovery add ons, that would make it even faster, so that would also have to be taken into account] but it would make it more rewarding to pull off a success stab on a expose target.
So i would say, yeah there are certain things that need to be looked into for ghostface. Yet as he current is, a decent killer. Who has gotten way better on certain maps, thanks to the current update making some of them smaller. Of course the same could be said for any 115% movement speed killer.

Sometimes if I just really need to get that mori daily done on a weak killer I do so if I don't think there's any other way to win. Not going to say no to 60k bp even if it's on someone I don't want to play.
Which the funny thing about the mori daily is, killing someone using something like rancor does count for the daily. Got it done that way on spirit a fair few times. Of course for someone like clown or a killer you might not play alot on. Well might be easier to get a mori, than spending who knows how many blood points to get a perk just for one daily.

Even if you don't mark people the undetectable from his power is very good for getting a hit in before they know your there.
Yeah, there is even certain builds for a non stalk ghostface. That just use his power to get close for a nice easy first hit. So he can be used in more than just one way. For his power does allow someone that choice, on how you wanna use it. Which if there is normally one thing people like to have, it's choice and that is something ghostface offers to the player. You can go around stalking everyone, just focus on sneaking and getting in close for stabbing or do a bit of both. Mark certain survivors and go in for the stab against others.
-
I think we should fix the bugs with Ghostface first before making any changes to him. Since it possible, there might not be any need for it, if we were to fix the bugs with his reveal.
-
The god of anime knows all and sees all.
On a more serious note. I would be highly interested in seeing anyone pull off a three man or four man escape against a decent Oni player with this build. For it seems like it would be hard to beat a build that grants someone basically endless information.

Ok, I misunderstood your point, fair enough
But even pig has small choices that the survivor can do to avoid death. Do I heal up first in case she finds me? Do I finish a gen since it is deactivated or do I remove it immediately? Which box do I go to?
Plus her power is limited to 4 traps because of that, because you can't have that situation forever. Ghostface can recharge his power in half a minute so he he can use it as an offensive ability whenever he wants, it should make him good at hiding, not to be an easy tracking ability for a survivor whi just so happens to have him on thier screen for a second
A gen takes 80 seconds to repair solo. 47 seconds with a friend. Ghostface recovery for his power is 30 seconds base kit. Depending on how many survivors are on a gen. By the time ghostface recovers his power. You can make a fair bit of progress on a gen or almost be done with it. 30 seconds is alot longer than you think.
Offensive weapon? Do you mean stalking people or sneaking up on them for a hit or maybe games during a chase? The sneaking up bit can be counter with being aware of what is going on around you by looking around aka survivor choice , listening for sounds or running spine chill, which works wonders against more than just ghostface. That and looking around you before you are aware of who the killer is, is generally a good idea. Since it will help you to spot a sneaky piggy, tier one Myers and even Wraith flicking. If you mean stalking, well a ghostface leaning from cover, stalks faster than one stalking out in the open. Which any stalk ghostface builds up on a person, is gone the minute he hits them. So body blocking for a team mate can be more useful against a ghostface than it can other killers. That and a ghostface can't stalk you if you break line of slight, like you would against Myers. So no it can't always be used as an offensive weapon, not just due to the cool down but due to possible actions survivors can take to negate or remove his power. Honestly the term can always be used as an offensive ability, fits better for endless Tier three Myers, which an endless tier three Myers, a survivor has far less choice in dealing with it than ghostface's power and you can never stop it once Myers reaches endless tier three, it lasts for the reminder of the game. A ghostface even with his best recovery add ons, can't come close to being able to one shot anyone all the time without any build up. That or Myers who also has an add on that allows him to straight up kill survivors if he gets close to them while in Tier three.
That and even if a ghostface exposes more than one person at a time, they are still only a single killer. They can only really chase after one or the other, not both. That and he can be reveal during the middle of a chase, forcing his power into cool down or while trying to stab a survivor, successful or not will also put his power into cool down. People on hook can reveal ghostface. A survivor has to be within 32 metres to reveal ghostface. The same range as tier three whispers, a perk that is used in some builds for ghostface. So the ghostface might already be aware you are in the area. That and when you successful reveal ghostface as a survivor, you are given points for it and that should make you well aware, of killer instinct effect, if you have experience going against ghostface. Which only lasts 2 seconds. Legions Killer instinct lasts longer after they hit someone, bbq effect last longer, Ghostface own perk, i'm all ears, lasts longer than this effect. 2 seconds is easy to miss, even if a ghostface does find you due to this ability. You have been given warning by being rewarded points for revealing him. It not a effect that should catch you off guard.
-
@Chatkovski said:
Personally, I don't like this Killer Instinct either.
Ghostface hunting. He has his power and moves furtively looking for a comrade to kill. He doesn't see me, but I see him. He's not as stealthy as he thinks, he deserves to be punished.
I decide to reveal it. I am also revealed. Ghostface chases me, he is punished but also rewarded by obtaining the position of a survivor. I am punished for having played correctly, for potentially avoiding the status exposed on a comrade. Playing solo, I guarantee that my altruism has wide limits.
I prefer that this information is not given, even if it requires a Ghostface buff to compensate.
Or we keep Killer Instinct, but revealing Ghostface in addition to disabling its power, also reveals its aura to all survivors for a very short time. This has the advantage of balancing solo and SWF players. Again, a buff to compensate if necessary.
So ghostface not being able to use his power for 30 seconds [16 seconds with adds on], is not punishment enough but rather all survivors should basically be given information as to where ghostface is as if kindred or object was in effect? Wouldn't that defeat the point of him being a sneaky killer if this downside is added?
Wraith flicks in and out with his power, with it being harder to tell where he is unless you notice the flicking. You can burn him while cloak, with flash lights, which is a item you have to bring in with you or be lucky enough to find. Which stuns him for a few seconds. Myers tier one, walks slower and has a short attack range. Pig moves slower but can also perform a special attack. While Ghostface, a survivor just has to look at him to reveal him. Not a single other sneaky killer has such a massive downside to their ability, of the aura reading you putting forth as a possible idea. Since that would be akin to a fifth perk while going against ghostface. Needing only one to reveal him and giving the others perfect information, to know if they should stay on a gen or not. Not a single other sneaky killer, is punished so heavily for failing to be sneaky. While Ghostface Killer Instinct which only works when his power is broken, lasts for only 2 seconds and only works on a single person. While your idea, will grant four people information, no matter where they are on the map, due to the actions of a single survivor. Rewarding three people for doing nothing. If killer instinct being given to ghost face for being broken out of his power is unfair. How the heck is rewarding three people for doing nothing fair? That and ghostface is also broken out of his power by hitting someone, so ghostface hitting someone that is exposed. Would lead to free information.
That and if this was added, why would anyone play ghostface over any other sneaky killer in the game? You might as well just play Myers, heck Myers has way better adds on than ghostface. Endless Tier three anyone? No that is simply to powerful of a downside in the favor of the survivors, to be added. Again, it gives three people rewards for doing nothing, rewarding them with a effect that is akin to a free perk.

Its a balance to the current bugs he has in stalking. I can guarantee if I play as him there will be multiple occasions with in a game I will bend from cover or literally stand and stalk and get nothing. Plus the indication doesn't even show half the time so yes it's worthless.
Yeah, it why i would love to have more data on how helpful the indication has been in ghostface finding someone. If it been helpful or well bloody worthless. Since without knowing that, it seems a bit to early to go time to change it. Since well only a handful of people are in this thread vs the game which has over 30k face playing it as i am currently writing this. Just to see if this is truly the case or maybe it just due to pure luck or something else that lead Ghostface to finding the survivor. Ghostface in general could do with some looking into. Like his add ons. Some bug fixing.
-
@cipherbay_ said:
Considering it can only be activated every 25 or so seconds, i say the indicator is nothing to worry about
It 30 seconds, for a Ghostface for a base kit ghostface, to regain his power after being reveal. Unless my information is out of date and they changed it recently. Now with recovery add ons, his two best recovery add ons, i believe that makes it almost half, 16 seconds i think. I'm unsure on that but it is massively faster with his recovery add ons. Opening up many new tactics for ghostface, he couldn't do without his add ons.
Which yeah, the warning someone is looking at ghostface. I think that leads to the ghostface, trying to avoid losing his power, rather than going oh hey, i know where to look now. Of course, it would be interesting to see just how many ghostface players use the warning to find someone [since getting broken out of your power already does that for you] vs using it to try and stop themselves from losing their power. That and a very useful perk on ghostface, is whispers. Some do replace it with nurse's calling. Yet it rather possible the ghostface is already aware someone is nearby due to perks, without even needing the warning about them being spotted.
For well, the ghostface will know where they are, the minute they are reveal. That and some maps do not have alot of cover for ghostface to use, so he is most likely going to be broken out of his power sooner rather than later, on certain maps. Of course Ghostface reveal can be buggy at times. Coin flip to see who it favors in that case.

Wow, look at that, low tier killer with the weak power ruin the game. Nurse who can ignore everything the survivor does and destroy them not an issue, but Legion who can be countered by not staying in group is op.
if legion a problem for you your playing in a bad way, even if you dont face a legion sticking together mean you cut your team pressure in half.
git gud
Yeah i have played legion base kit aka no add ons a few times, before the current update. Which some of the larger maps, it was easy to spread out and deny legion his power. Allowing you to greatly limit the effect his power has. Since base kit Legion has a very short use of their power and a very long cool down. 10 second use of their power but 20 second cooldown. While in their power, they are at 130% movement speed, which is only slightly faster than cloaked base kit Wraith. Which of course, i don't think you will have much luck reasoning with Clicky. Well in this thread here, he called someone a killer main, due to not agreeing with the ops ideas. When it turns out on page 2, the op posts a screenshot, revealing he has spend more blood points on his survivors than he has on any of his killers. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/144989/i-do-it-solo/p1

If i'm a survivor and didn't die super early on, since sometime it happens. In that case i will go look for the next game, since i haven no idea when the current game will end. Now if i make it to the end or near the end. I will stick around, post gg before heading off to the next game. Killer, yeah i always go gg. Since well as killer, i will always be there for the whole match. Which killer sometimes none of the survivors replies, i figure they want just wanna go onto the next game. Other times i see some ggs. That and sometimes on both sides, you get a nice little back and forth. Like everyone survivor and killer agreeing, it sucks when dead hard fails to work. That or just going wow, that was an amazing shot huntress.
Yeah had some nice chats with the killer as a survivor in the post game chat. Even some nice friendly chat with the survivors as the killer.

Okay.
Well good for Oni i guess, just seems odd to me that it functions.
It clearly due to Oni having the power of anime and god on his side.
To be more serious. I took a moment to look it up and it seems, they did removed the need for it to be a basic attack for Fright awhile ago, so Fright can trigger from any attack that puts a survivor into the dying state. Which happen back in patch 3.1.0, which is also news to me. So it seems the description for the perk is out dated.

Well i have no idea what the op thinks about t bagging but from what i seen in general, it normally seen as rude or simply a taunt. Depending on how you view it. Yeah i love playing ghostface. It fun sneaking around, hiding behind walls while crouch, if they are big enough, that and crouching can stop you from being revealed if you are quick enough and in a good position. Some of the map changes, have made him more fun to play on certain maps. Of course Ghostface is not the only killer i play, i do play others like Spirit or when i get a daily for them like clown. Of course on ghostface i like to horde my recovery add ons. For i'm cheap on blood points. For i have used recovery add ons a few times on ghostface and boy. Is it night and day between playing with recover add ons and playing without them. You can do so much more with recovery add ons, that you could not dream of on a ghostface without any recovery add ons. Of course i also find ghostface fun to go against. Have not seen any of the ghost faces i have personal gone against t bag but i am aware some do it. Since there is video proof of it happening on youtube. So maybe i'm just lucky when it comes to the ghostface players i go against.
Which yeah people will wanna play killers they have the most fun with or ones they are good at, due to say wanting to win the match. Of course i can also understand the Op. Like if i faced nothing but Trapper for my next 1000 games, i most likely would get tired of facing Trapper and want anyone else beside them. Yet there is well little one can do to get people to play other killers, beside maybe working out a effective build for that killer, people can use while playing them in hopes of getting more people to play that certain killer or say a rework that brings them up to par. Of course i'm also a special person that likes to go against spirit, so i might be a bit crazy.

While The killer is clearly a douche, its sort of funny, like on family guy when they make a joke and it sucks but they keep repeating it until its funny
Well the funny thing is that player, was not just a killer. They were also a survivor who played against True. For if you look at the end of both videos i link to. You will see, the killer and survivor player share the same name.
https://youtu.be/y00Y9imYoko?t=726Now one could always say they are just two different players with the same name. Yet i find that unlikely. Since they share the very name. I find it highly more likely, they are the same person. Since well in one game they call True a baby huntress, type ez and in another someone with the same name, t bags him for the longest time before they mori him. It way more likely they are the same person. Making this a individual issue, not killers are the scum of the earth or this is years of pay back like Meg is making it out to be. No this is just one bad individual.
https://youtu.be/Y3BZWSj0RJ4?t=586 -
Well vaulting feels way smoother as a survivor. Find myself getting hit way less when vaulting. Dead zone issue, i believe the devs are already busy looking into it. Some of the maps are very noticable smaller and feels less one sided to play on and feels more balance, like the game could go one way or the other. Depending on what the players do.
-
I see clickyclicky forgot to bring in some context. Of course just to make some rant against killers. What Clickyclicky forgot to say is that killer player, was also this survivor in a different game True played. It's not a killer issue. It's a individual issue, not a killer issue.

Yeah, what counts as toxic or not is very heavily debatable from what i seen. Since well ask someone about camping and you will get different replies. Like oh yeah it toxic, others will say it a legit plan but only during endgame. Heck seen some say, oh yeah blinding the killer while breaking a pallet is toxic and that made me go, what? Like for all i know they are just trying to get some points or give themselves more time to run away or try something sneaky, to loop around behind the killer while they are blind. Blinding a killer while breaking a pallet never seen to be rude or bad sportsman ship, it just seem to be doing what the video game allows them to do. Using the flash lights to well blind the killer.

Ah yes empire strikes back, great movie. One of the few sequels that was just as good if not better than the original.
Yeah the only sequel to something i can think of that was better than the original in the past couple of years. Would be shadow of war. In terms of gameplay, it did add alot more you could do when fighting orcs or when commanding your own and building them up to be just right. Just so much more you could do, in terms of missions you could set up, even laying siege to forts. Could make the fort even easier, by killing off orc captains before hand or even replacing them with your own. Story, yeah not the greatest to put it nicely. Yet the same can be said for the first one, where it was really the gameplay, not the story that made it entertaining to play. If you like killing orcs and killing more orcs. It was the game for you.
Any other sequel that comes to mind, that i'm aware of with in the past couples of years. Yeah they were not very good, to put it kindly. More so when you look at what came before them.

I haven't seen anything about it. Just reactions. Im upset because i thought the first one was one of my favorite games of all time. I'll probably redbox or something. Or wait for a halfoff sale.
Yeah that might be wise. Since from what i heard of it. There is already red flags going around it. Like one of the people working on it, saying you need to be open minded and understanding. So a sequel to a video game many people liked or loved. Their reply is, you need to be open minded and understanding. Which does not sound very good and shows a lack of fate in the game, if you need to say to people to be open minded and understanding for a sequel to a beloved video game. Like wouldn't people already be open minded and willing to give the game a shot, due to how beloved and popular the first one was?

Remember their idea of balance is Hillbilly. Should tell you all you need to know.
With all the deadzones now its so easy for him to land on a survivor out of nowhere and get the instadown as they dont have anything to use within 32m of them
Are the devs not already looking into dead zones and trying to fix the issue?

I just find it funny some people take this game that seriously to get that mad at it.
I see it from time to time. People getting salty, normally it due to them dying or being the only one to die or wanting to blame someone else for their failures. Like i seen a Bill, try to get inside of a locker right in front of the killer. While bringing someone down to the basement. No head on, no ds. None of that. They ran out of the locker, after their buddy was hooked. They didn't even take the time to heal up before pulling off this plan. Than after getting caught and put on hook. It was only their second hook, they just give up and die. Yet stick around for the end game chat. Where they got around 1k blood points or less. The bill's plan to this day still confuses me. Like what the heck where they hoping for, just to be let go, after they made a massive error in judgement? Maybe they just hated Spirit that much. That and it like, the Bill could of gone onto another game. To get more blood points, yet the Bill wasted time and stuck around to be salty? The Bill just confused me. All their actions just confused me.

I have notice vaulting windows and stuff seems a bit different this patch, from playing as survivor and playing as killer. Things that would normally have hit me before while vaulting something, seem like it lead to the killer missing rather than landing a hit.
So it possible it might not be the killer [ in this case Demo] but simply smoother vaulting for survivors.
-
Well playing both sides is fun for their own reasons. That and well helps you to understand the game better. Like playing spirit, can help you as a survivor when playing against one. For you know what they are good at and what they are weak against. That or playing survivor, can help you get an idea of what they might do when you go against them as a killer.
That or learning the most important skill of all, how to moon walk as Myers. :P
-
From the time i have played so far, ranking up as a survivor seems about the same as normal.

Look at this catastrophe
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/397/BFCX2L4JFDAE.png
Left to reach 2nd stage, two teammates downed, and the last one self-caring (got downed shortly after I screenshotted)
Ah yes, the classic of, being left on hook until you reach second stage or almost die on it, if not simply die on it. While other team mates still exist. If you get saved, well back down on the floor you go. That is just "lovely" when it happens. Well on the bright side, at least protection hits will be easier to gain soon. Leading to easier stacks for we're gonna live forever. So that might be one upside, to getting on a questionable team. If things don't go even worst than they normally do with special teams like this, thanks to the map changes.

I adore Dark Souls because it's challenging.
Solo Teammates aren't a challenge, they are a hinderence. I've made it a rule to never again trust Megs because they tend to kill me the most.
True, dark souls tend to be tough but fair. Oh hey, i found these items by exploring the area. Hmm, interesting, the boss up ahead is weak to said items. I wonder what i should do with said items. Hmmm. Hmm. That and some of the npcs can basically win the boss fight for you or be a major help, if not just well good for cannon folder.
Yeah, sometimes random team mates can truly be well the other kind of challenging. This is total nonsense kind of challenge. At least the killer is having a good time. If not just secretly asking themselves, what the heck is happening here. Since i have seen some very good team mates before. While on the flip side, i have seen others that will stay in a locker, while we have two team mates on hook and i am being chased by the killer. Only after i go down, do they get the idea to come out of the locker. That or the time, everyone else kill themselves on first hook or dc. With me being the only person left and the killer, being a Freddy, showed mercy.
Well, certain games are going to be alot more fun. Of course to be fair, it might also take a bit for everyone to get use to the map changes. So some of that might be due to getting used to things, rather than well being a Meg head.

I solo queue. Though I admit sometimes I feel like quitting after seeing what my teammates does.
Sometimes your worst enemy, is not the killer but your team mates.
Which it will be interesting to see how the updates effect solo queue. If it will turn the game into dark souls level of challenge, for these who go solo.

Imagine spending 2m bloodpoints to unlock a perk, and then unlock it on your main just to have it be banned for the next week. I would throw my PC out the window.
Yeah i think you hit the nail on the head, as to why this idea would not really work out so well. Since you do have to unlock these perks, by grinding out them blood points. Only to for the chance to be there of the game, going nope or saying you can't use a character or their perks you grind for or paid for.
Which since the idea is to try and add variety, i'm not sure that will work out as planned. Since well the idea comes off more as forcing people to do something against their will. Since even if you explain to some people, this idea is to get them to try out new things, they will go i don't wanna try out new things. I wanna use what i know works or what i have fun with. While a blood point bonus, for using x perk might work out better. Which make it a one time bonus, to keep everyone from using these perks all week. That way people can choose to run these perks for some blood points or skip it and just play with what they normally run. Might be a better idea of getting others to try out new perks.
That and another reason why banning might not work out very well is, well lets look at card games. Card games like yu-gi-oh normally have certain cards that are limited or ban for official tournament play. Due to certain cards simply being to powerful for use or for unlimited use, petty much done to help ensure a more balance fair game. With the list getting updated over time, as certain cards might no longer be as powerful as they once were. While you can still use these banned cards for casual play with your friends, able to still make use of them. Just not in official tournaments. That and card games normally have hundreds or 1000s of cards. While dead by deadlight only has a handful of perks. Which are rather small next to well, the massive amount of things you can make a deck with in a card game. That and unless you have friends who also own and play the game. You are force to play rank mode, since there is well no casual mode where anything goes [to play with or against randoms]. So if you like playing a certain way, being say the team healer on survivor and it why you run say Claudette's perks. Well you won't be able to possibly do that for a week or two, due to random rng. With the ban of perks, being done randomly and not for any sort of balance like card games.
Honestly, it doesn't seem like randomly banning perks each week, is really going to make people try out new perks but rather just be feeling like they got screwed over for no real reason, other than rng.

The problem is, with DBD, players from both side of the aisle has a certain ego attached to them.
I know rank doesn't matter, but I know some friends who HATES to depip, like hate it with a passion. They think it's humiliating that they depipped, even though no one asked if they depipped or not.
So while yes, most of the complaints tend to be based on people's lack of skill (The amount of complaints against Freddy, Spirit, NoeD, SWF teams, flashlights and DS just solidifies that). Some people just won't listen because they don't want to be told they need to "Git Gud". They think they already are, and are unwilling to get better.
Yeah some people, seem to lose all sense and reason, when it comes to certain killers they personally dislike, by down playing certain perks. I seen people say oh yeah, spine chill only good against spirit. Iron Will, only good against spirits. With the first perk, being one that gives you a warning when a killer is looking your way. Useful information to have. Even if they are a ghostface using their power, spine chill will still work. While the second, stops you from making noise while injured. Since one of the ways killers can find survivors, is with noise. While iron will stops the noise when injured, making it very useful, against more than just spirit.
That or one person who i came across, wants to delete Oni from the game, is fine with Billy but Oni who has to work for his power, should be deleted from the game.

Depends on the game. Also, 1 DC generally means one escape for me.
If I've absolutely dominated and crushed the survivors, extending out the game BECAUSE I CAN and do so freely, then I might let the last one go. Ultimately it's up to them. They play hard, then I play hard and there is zero mercy.
Yeah if someone dcs early on, i normally give the last person the hatch. I been there as a survivor and it really sucks, when you are down a person right from the start. Since 3 people, normally leads to the game going well for the killer. That and well the others were good sports for sticking in there, even with having to deal with a dc. Since normally they are low on morale rather than going super saiyan. Now if it a normal game, long as i get my bbq stacks, i'm happy and will gladly give the last person the hatch. If i'm missing a stack and they are the last person left. Well on the hook they go. For hey Bill needs more med kits and ghostface needs to stack up on them recovery add ons.

I do if I max deviousness points.
I’m point focused like many in this thread and getting one last hook for instance gives 2500 deviousness and 500 sacrifice. I’ll let the last guy have hatch or escape if I’m only getting 300-500 sacrifice points.
What bothers me is if I don’t and I get complaining in the lobby for not just letting them go. It’s so so so rare that a survivor gives themselves up to the killer when it was clearly a win for the survivors. It’s hypocritical to me.
I have seen way more killers, give the last person the hatch. Than i have seen survivors die to give the killer a pity kill for lack of a better term. Heck even seen a few killers, who felt so sorry for someone dcing or killing themselves on first hook. They will let the last two survivors get a few points. By dropping pallets on them and stuff. To make it up to them for the awful game. Of course, i always make sure to say thanks, to the killer should they choose to show mercy to me. For they didn't have to but they did anyway.
That and have come across a few games, where me and another person, felt kind of bad for the killer. Due to getting so few points. We were totally unaware they only got 10k points, while everyone else was much higher. Even saying, yeah we wish he could of gotten more points. Heck, even had games where the survivors were sticking up for the newbie killers, by calling out the bad action of their fellow survivors.

I survive plenty and I don't play with meta perks at all. I run Self-Care, Urban Evasion, Spine Chill, and Plunderers, and I do well. I don't Survive every game, but I have fun and do my best to save my teammates. Plunderers has let me escape many times by letting me find a key, it has also let me cleanse many NoEds and Devours since I find a Map in almost every other match.
FYI, I only play Killer for Dailies or when I get super bored of Survivor. 95% of my games are as Survivor, so you're wrong with your assumption. Also, isn't what you claim Killers do done by the majority of Survivors? How many complaints were there about the Ruin nerf? What did Survivors say? Apply Pressure or Git Gud. Now that more and more Killers are applying pressure in endgame by bringing in NoEd and Slugging builds its too much?
Where did I complain about you using Meta Perks, you're free to choose whatever perk you want, just don't complain about a Killers very commonly used perk when you refuse to counter it. Don't forget it has multiple easy counters! You don't even need to change perks or bring in a map, you can just count to five!
Instead of accusing me of being a Killer main and being selfish, who about you be honest and admit that everyone who is complaining about NoEd is only complaining because they want the game made easier.
Yeah i think Ivaldi didn't fully read your post. They seem to have gone with the same idea as Shocker, that you will always come against face camping bubbas and the like aka killers who do things that are seem as scummy. Which they have also seem to overlook, the idea farming for blood points can be done without playing survivor. Since well, you can do it on killer. Slap on bbq, make sure to hook everyone at least once. Odds are, you will be earning blood points faster than survivor. Allowing you to spend them all on your survivor, for them maps or other items you might need. Since hey blood points are blood points at the end of day. No matter if you played killer or survivor to get them. Of course if someone is feeling lucky or wants to perform a stock up run as i call it. Plunderers and Arc in the hole can be worth it. Since you can possibly escape with an item, plus add ons for it. That or find a key, with the add on that lets you keep it after death. Die and still get a key out of the match.
Of course i'm not sure why anyone would take Shocker's word serious, after you have disproven their claims of you need a full build for hunting totems. When all you need is a single perk or a map item. Since well a full build, makes it sound like you need four perks. When in reality, you need way less than that, if you want to quickly and easily find the totems. Making Shockers original statement debunked. Making anything else about their statement be brought into question,[like killers always go out of their way to ruin the enjoyment of others] since their main point of you need a whole build just to find totems was debunk by you. Which i am not sure how Ivaldi can know your playstyle, from debunking shocker's statement and proving their statement of needing a whole build to find totems wrong. If anything, everyone should be doubting Shocker's original post and all the claims they make. Due to Shocker being proven wrong you need a build to find and hunt for totems.
Which if totems were better hidden, it could possibly make maps or the perk you brought up more useful. Of course, people could get used to their new spawn areas but it could possibly at least keep totems lasting just a tiny bit longer, if some of the spawns were slightly better. Yet that might make them last slightly longer. Which would benefit the killer or these who like harder games.
-
Bonus blood points and an addition small benefit? Sounds good to me. Would help to truly make it the bbq for survivors.

I don't understand Ghostface at all either. I sit there and stare right at him and get exposed. But I'm not complaining. I think I'd be smart to just watch at youtube video and figure out how he works. I wasn't playing when he was released. But somehow I had gotten the idea that you're supposed to look at him to prevent getting exposed. And I'm just sitting there with my camera right on him and still exposed. Haha character makes no sense to me.
Yeah ghostface reveal is buggy. It sometimes a coin flip, to see who will get screwed over this time. Ghostface or the survivor.

So, in a very specific scenario, with specific players, he’s beatable. Great balance.
Ghostface is a killer that relays on his add ons more so than other killers. Playing ghostface with no add ons vs playing him with his two best recovery add ons, is night and day. Simply due to how fast you can recover your power, allowing you to make so many more plays you normally couldn't without add ons, just due to the slow recovery speed.

Totems dont need to be impossible to find, but there are some ridiculously awful totem spots.
Yeah some totem spots, are well so bad. That it almost impossible not to notice them. Since i lost count of how many totems spawn right next to gens. If you see the gen, you see the totem.
