Not if they're dead?... Self-care+Botany+Resilience+Spine Chill is a good combo. Obviously there's better options like Inner Strength, but its a strong option

It truly is a fun build. Faster vaulting and ability to heal yourself and others quickly. Always run it when i get a daily of be chased by the killer for x amount of time with y survivor. With all the perks pairing so well with one another.

I would argue that Rancor is a different Bitter Murmur and is actually balanced since there are effects for both sides. Yes, you can delete ONE person, but they'll know it's them and you may not exactly remember who they are to hunt them down. If I see that I'm the Rancor target, then you can bet that I'll have yeeted myself out of a gate ASAP.

It's also more under the classification of a tracking perk, since you get a small notification of where everyone is, as opposed to NoED which is just free exposed. NoED also works when you close hatch, where as Rancor relies on having 5 generators done for the ability to execute the Obsession.

    Fair enough.

Rancor doesn't read auras, it just makes survivors scream for a second. You don't see where they're running to, only where they were. It's the same notification that Infectious Fright, Spies, or Doctor's blast gives; a scream. Meanwhile, there's a perk survivors have that reads the killer's aura whenever they kick something.... Rancor is just fine.

Yeah i should been more technical and made sure i was using the right term for the effect. So thanks for the correction.

Another rank 1 Spirit main here, and I have to agree with @Hopesfall to some extent. (Should cover your "name" up in full by the way, I found ya out of curiosity, or at least someone with your "name" and over a month's worth of time on DBD~)

I believe that Spirit does not require skill to learn, however, she is one of the harder killers to master. Someone new picking her up would have no idea how or when to use her power, would not be able to find an uninjured person during a phase, and would mind-game themselves more than the survivors.

I will say to the people here, who say things such as "Just run Stridor and she's skill-less" or "Just wait at pallet to mind-game." You all seem like the sort of people that would see her standing at a pallet and would either vault the pallet or stand still on the other side of it. In other words, you seem pretty dumb honestly.. On the subject of Stridor though, while on paper, Stridor SHOULD counter Iron Will, it doesn't. In fact it more often gives people, without Iron Will, the Iron Will effect due to audio bugs. Also, telling people to run Stridor isn't really different from telling people to run Iron Will.. Please, just stop it and try to learn how to play against a killer.

With that said, there are quite a few ways to mind-game a Spirit as a survivor, but most people either give up because "Spirit OP," or they panic and just run forwards becuase they're not used to having to think about where a killer is. A few things you can do would be to double-back or sprint up to a pallet and throw it down in front of you. Or, you know, anything. You're the ones that produce the scratchmarks, use them, make them lead away and double-back. You can see her husk, make a guess on where she's coming from like you would with any other killer, then time your dodge when her phasing gets louder and you hear her footsteps. Hell, just stand still and she'll most likely go past you. You can mind-game her yourself you know.

Yeah that petty much what happen during my first few games of spirit. So good at the mind games using her power, i ended up mind gaming myself. :P

Yeah, Resilience is the one I was talking about. One of these days I'll figure out the name of perks :D

Yeah have it happen to myself from time to time. Where i go, wait that the name of the perk or that a perk in game? Than go look it up, to see what it does.

  • Np. Besides, misunderstandings can make for some funny stories or look back at them in the future and go ah we did agree, so we fought over nothing. Making for a nice good old laugh. Well i think that all i have to say. Have a good day and good luck in game.

You didnt fully read my post, so Ill not oblige you with an answer at the moment.

I did. You were asking if any one else believe it was op. Who played killer. So i was going over the logic as to why it not a very powerful perk. I don't recall saying you, yourself were saying it was op. Just that it sounds like it would be very questionable for someone to say it op. Now i might of worded my post badly, so that would be my fault. More like yes i was agreeing with your original post, that yes head on is fine and not overpowered.

  • I'm unsure of the range of head on but from the few times i used it. It did seem very short and easy to miss your chance to stun. Of course could be i have not used it enough. Yet it doesn't seem that strong, since you need a locker. Hope the killer gives you enough time to get the stun ready or hope they come nearby. That and the stun is only three seconds, not very long. Yeah hearing someone say it's overpowered would make me go and ask, would you mind explaining in detail how it overpowered? For i would be interested in hearing why they think it's overpowered.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

I use it because as a solo, it's too unreliable to hope that someone will actually help me. I get killed way too often without it because someone will unhook me and instantly abandon me.

I've also started to combine it with that one perk that gives you extra speed in fixing and whatnot if injured, which is nice.

If there is a teammate near to heal me, I'll go to them and have them heal me but I never want to be in a position where I have no way to heal because my team is being a bunch of dinks.

Which Self care also combines wonderfully with a number of other perks. Botany knowledge, not only makes self caring faster but also makes healing team mates faster. Resilience [the perk i think you are talking about] being another, since you can always heal to 99%, to still keep that gen speed boost. Than heal up to full when in danger. Which resilience is not just good for gens but healing yourself or others while injured. Self care on it own might not be all that great but it combines so well with many different perks, which is when it becomes amazing. You can legit become the team healer, if you wanted to.

  • Noed for life! Noed rebellion! No no noed!

There we go, with the memes out of the way. Since i seen some go with the idea, that noed rewards failure. Well what about Rancor, the spirit perk? Since each time a gen gets done, it rewards you with information as to where the survivors are, while giving one of them the power to see you for a short time as well. While at the end of the game, one special lucky survivor gets their own mini noed and mori. Is it the same as noed rewards for failure or does the downside of giving a survivor information make it a double edge sword? That or does the lesser effect, one target rather than the whole team, make it different from noed in terms of it being say more acceptable or is it just as bad as noed?

  • Since the perk is counter by healing up. Well Botany knowledge comes to mind. A survivor perk that makes healing 33% faster. So even at max Thanatophobia, the survivors can still heal up faster. Making the effects of thanatophobia seem very minor.

  • @GhostofYharnam said:

I agree as soon as gens are done and exits are open i leave. Only time i stay is if the team was really good and the person saved our ass.

Yeah sometimes it best to just escape and get out of dodge. Be it due to thinking the character has blood warden or something else that is in play. Which will make saving someone a very risky thing to do. Which might turn a 3 man escape, into a one man escape or just everyone dying. Like if someone came in with no items, they found say a purple med kit or flashlight. If they have choose between to save me or escape with 5000 blood points plus a purple item. I would rather they escape, have an item they can use for the next game or simply to store it away. Rather than risk it all to save me. For they simply have a lot more to gain, from escaping than i do.

Sure an amazing save can happen every now and then. Due to great team work. Only that tends to be a bit rare from the games i played. That and well better for 3 people to escape, than risk throwing that all away to save one.

Just on your point that a survivor doesn't deserve to die because his team plays poorly.

Have you never watched or played any kind of sport in your life? One bad team mate can ruin the game for the rest of them. Should all sports just let the team with the bad player(s) win than? No. The whole idea of being on a TEAM is to work together. Yes it sucks when you have bad team mates, but that doesn't mean you deserve a free win even if you DID play well.

Yeah if a team does poorly, since the survivors are meant to work together to get gens done and unhook one another. Well going with the idea their failure to work together well has lead to 3 or all of them dying. Well it does sounds like yes their failure to work as a team, their own actions are what lead to the killer being so successful or the killer noticing the errors the survivors made and using it against them. Sure one player might of done a majority of the work to help the team win but still fail in the end. Sure that might suck for the one player who did alot of the work. Yet just do to playing well, doesn't mean they deserve to live. Doesn't mean they deserve to die. In truth they don't deserve anything. It just luck of the dice. Sometimes thing go your way and other times they don't. In this case, sometimes you escape, sometimes you don't.

Which in the case of someone dcing on the survivor side. Well that sucks for both killer and survivor. Killer gets less points for chasing and hunting down survivors and possibly miss out on a stack of bbq. Survivors have less chance of winning, due to someone dcing. Less chances to get we're gonna live forever stacks.

There are some people who do pull up counterpoints and valid arguments against these changes, but they are far and few between. Posts like these are literally just whining, kicking and screaming. There is no real discussion to have here unless the OP actually starts making valid points, which they haven't.

They say that Killers influence the game so heavily that they have now broken the balance...because apparently Ruin was never reworked with no compensation for Killers, even though Killer players rose up against these changes, yet they (developers) did nothing. We all starting saying that the devs were survivor biased and that the developer update was written proof of that, now look at the forums, KILLER BIASED!

People just like to create their own narrative, which makes them think that their opinion and their opinion only is law, news flash, it's not.

Which just to add something. One thing that been overlook, while calling the new balancing changes killer sided by op or well game ruining. Is protect hits. From what i seen, things that would never count as protection hits before, now do. Which funny enough, could be seen as buff to two survivor perks. We're gonna live forever aka give me more blood points and mettle of man. Which might lead to a nice little boost to overall blood point gain for survivors, at least these who run we're gonna live forever. That and we do have prove thyself, which the numbers have been change. To help it grant the same effect as before. Not weaker and not stronger. Just the same. Since if this balancing patch was just to give the middle finger to survivors, it seems very questionable if they reach their goal. Since they are making a few nice changes to survivor with protection hits or in the case of prove thyself, updating a perk to keep it from becoming weaker. Making it seem like, they do care about the survivor side of things and it's not all doom and dread. The devs don't only care about the killer experience but also the survivor experience as well.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Take everything you just said, flip it around and this was the exact situation Killers were in three months ago.

Unless you were hiding under a rock, the entire forum exploded because the majority of people did not agree with the Ruin rework and knew it was bad for the health of the game, but they did it anyway.

I’m telling you to shut up and sit down because not only are you not seeing the pattern with these updates, but you’re blaming the players...THE PLAYERS, but not just any players, the players that are on the opposite side from you, showing that you have a lack of empathy.

You’re blaming the players, not the developers? You know, the ones who make the balancing changes? The ones who have the power to create these changes and go through with them. Grow up and stop blaming the people who play the game when you should be blaming the developers, even though they won’t listen because they already knew the backlash they would get from survivors, the same backlash they got from Killers only just three months ago.

You bring up a fair point. Devs have final say about the balancing. While the op did not offer any counter points or logic as to why the balance changes are in their mind bad ones or how they would negatively effect the game in a bad way, in their opening post. They just said killers are bad, they are the ones ruining the game, when in truth they have no power over balance. It's the devs word that is law, when it comes to final balancing changes. Since if the op wanted to offer feed back, they could in a detailed way. That might influence the devs way of balancing things, since they do seem to think killers or killer mains have massively control and influence over the devs. Yet do not speak their mind about why these balance changes are bad. Just that they are bad and killers are to blame for it. Since you think if killers were influencing devs choices on balancing so greatly, wouldn't the op have been better off by making up a logical counter point and putting forth their point of views, to try and influence the devs as to why these upcoming changes are bad? That way they could of serve as a jumping off point for others to state their point of views or gather support for their ideals, to have more of a possible effect or influence on the upcoming balance changes or at least offer a counter point to the logic the killer mains they seem to hate so much are using.

Clown is boring. Clown doesn't have a bloated basekit though. And at least you have to be mindful of your bottles. You don't see anyone really complaining about him because yeah...no one plays him and everyone knows he's laughably weak. Go figure, people don't complain about things that they don't see often.

Old Freddy was way more interesting because his power was more interactive. Blowing up gens to wake yourself up, desperately looking to fail a healing skill check moments before he reaches you, never knowing which direction he's going to come from. Honestly if we just had old Freddy, reverted that initial nerf and gave him the teleport, he'd be so much more fun to face and play. Right now it's just die to snare spam, fake pallets that you had no idea about because you weren't at that side of the map when your teammate wasted the real one, or run across the map every 90 seconds or less and have your gen instantly get PGTW'd every time someone goes down. It's just too much, and none of it's particularly skill-based on either side. The only thing that's even remotely skill-based is remembering which pallets you personally threw and which can't spawn naturally.

Again, I'd rather face a Billy/Nurse/Oni any day.

You can still blow up gens to wake yourself up, long as Freddy doesn't bring a certain add on aka red paint brush, you can still wake up with failed skill checks. So going by his base kit, with no add ons. You can still do blow up a gen to wake yourself up trick. Which it's rather easy to tell if Freddy has the add on or not, since another effect of the red paint brush is, it starts all survivors in the dream world. That and Freddy if he is using fake pallets, that mean he is using an add on, that trades in his ability to put down blood snares for fake pallets.

Yes okay, good to see you actually read the thread. I said 3 people can just do gens, that's fine. But it's still an awful experience for the one survivor subjected to it. They should be able to play the game too.

Yeah having been the first person caught and facecamp. It truly is you sitting there doing nothing for the rest of the game or maybe for a few seconds before you get caught and cut down again. While getting very few blood points as well. That and depending on your team. They might just give the killer a easy 4k due to swarming the hook, due to lack of information.

  • @vux_intruder said:

All for this, they just need to make it so we hold the button down instead of mash it. My X button on my PS4 remote broke because of this. Had to switch to square button now. ):

Yeah be it just hold down the button or auto. It would be better than spamming the button, which is the current system. You don't press the space bar fast enough, dead, lag, dead. I feel like i might end up wearing out my space bar everytime i play survivor and have to smash that space bar. Would make the game alot more relaxing, without having to worry about breaking my keyboard.

Yea thats what i mean you can tell when its intentional or not.

Tbagging doesnt bother me. But going out of your way to ruin someone elses experience because your so insecure of yourself is annoying in any game. Also the teammates who dc are toxic pos as well.

When it comes to someone dcing. Depends on when it happen. If it happen during the start of the game, i normally think bad internet or when say i am passing them by and they seem stuck in the same action or something else that makes me go, lag or bad internet. Now when it happens after getting downed or on hook. Yeah that is when it makes me go, hmm yeah this doesn't seem like bad internet. The timing of it makes it seem clear as heck that this was a rage quit. That is when it a real kicker, for lack of a better term. For it seems very likely they just rage quit and left their team high and dry. Yeah that is when it really sucks.

I have seen both sides act seriously scummy when i play killer or survivor, i get that people are having bad days or something but It doesn't excuse you from acting like a jerk and actively trying to make sure everyone has the least fun possible, when I'm survivor I just want a decent amount of bloodpoints and help my teammates to escape even if I have to die for them, when I play killer I don't take the game so seriously and I meme around and get a few kills. Idk, imo it just drains the fun out of the game and makes me wanna quit. I should probably change the post name to question for players or something like that

Yeah some people will just use any reason to be a jerk. When truthfully, they should really know how awful it is to be on the other end of someone being well nasty. If the reasoning they are using is someone else acted like a jerk towards them. Then they should know, all they did was take it out on innocent strangers who had nothing to do with it.

Well i play as killer myself, also play survivor. Alot of people be they survivor or killer are rather chill dudes. Going gg at the end. Bit of friendly chat and all that. Yet from time to time you do come across these people who just want to ruin someone day. It's not really a killer thing or survivor thing. It's just an individual thing. But if you look at the changes over the past year...

    Start with EGC

killers complained survivors would wait at the gates and never leave. Thus EGC was born to stop that. Good for killer.

Killers complained the hatch was survivor sided. Granted it was. Then they switched it to be killer sided. It had to be one or the other but they put it in that direction for the killer.

When these changes came in they wanted to make the Exit Gates 15 seconds so survivors had a chance but killers complained and it was reverted to 20 seconds. The amount of times those extra 5 seconds would have let me escape...

Meanwhile survivors still get slugged and left to bleed out. Nothing changes about that. They change something to improve killers experience but not survivors.

Killers complained about OoO especially swf. So they change killers so that stealth killers aren’t affected. Good for killers but they changed Kindred too so that now Ghostface and Wraith can camp to their hearts content and never be revealed.

Killers complained about instaheals and they got nerfed to the point that they aren’t really special anymore. Toolboxes got nerfed too to the point of being worthless. Yeah it helps the games balance as these stacked could be OP before however nothing is done on the killer side. You can still stack ultra rare add ons, NOED and an ebony and play as toxic as you want.

The maps have been problematic for a while and that’s reflected in the killrate/survival rate. Coldwind maps were bad for killer, Hawkins bad for survivor. What happens? All the coldwind maps get touched up but Hawkins remains a death zone even though statistically it was more unbalanced than any coldwind map.

All of these combined, wel Tru3 put up a video the other day. Sure you can say it was just a Trapper but still, brings ultra rare add ons, NOED and an ebony, plays like a twat and leaves the last one on the ground until just before bleed out constantly setting traps in front of him. Killers can be dicks as much as they want it seems.

Killers tunnel and camp and its always excused by some cocky sod as “its just killers being efficient ;)”, well survivors looping all game is just survivors trying to be efficient at surviving. Sure both sucked but what happens? God loops get fixed and maps get tile changes. Those changes were good for killer Im not disagreeing that they needed to happen eventually but what a surprise that once again they go out of their way to improve killer gameplay but not survivor.

Basically its not about nerfs or buffs. Its about the fact that the devs have worked to improve the killer experience but survivor is just as miserable as ever. “Oh look here’s another Freddy with his best add ons, NOED and an ebony. Oh look hes just tunneling people straight off hook again.” Such fun gameplay.

Wraith cloak is not perfect. It flickers like a candle in the wind, allowing you to notice it from time to time while the Wraith is moving around. Far from perfect. That and Wraith can be burned with the flashlight. Ghostface can be reveal by looking at him and using your eyes. Wraith needs to uncloak to hit someone. Which Ghostface when he hits someone or misses, ends his power. Your claim of they can camp to their heart content and never be reveal. Is rather questionable. For sooner or later they will have to take an action that needs them to come out of their power.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Forums were always killer biased and 99% of them never had any valid points, just unlogical rants. Nothing changed in this aspect. And killers are the ones that makes this game worse, cause devs allow them to play as toxic as possible.

I think you have over look all the threads on this forum that go, this game is becoming to much in favor of killer. Survivors are getting nerfed. Low rank nurse is unbeatable. Which have happen in the last few days and weeks. That and the run of the mill nerf mori or why are moris a thing threads. I don't think these forums are as killer biased as you might think.

Granted, solo can be frustrating at times. But 99% of that is not working well as a team. It has nothing to do with Killers being OP.

I only play solo survivor, and I have good games and bad games. I do my best to work well with my team, but sometimes it just isn't enough. I'm not going to blame that on the killer or BHVR. I'd say you're more likely to see selfish survivors in solo. The people who only hide from the killer, don't go for saves and don't work on gens.

None of this means killers are too OP in solo. It means you didn't work well as a team. Which quite frankly, is the only way for killers to win these days; by capitalizing on survivors not working together and being selfish.

Solo all the time here as well. Sometimes you get ok teams, sometimes god teams and other times you have to question what the heck is going on. With someone sitting in a locker while two people are in the basement and you are being chased by the killer or someone sitting in the corner for no real reason.

The ruin nerf made survivor experience less frustrating, the nurse nerf and introduction of Oni and new freddy shifted the meta of red ranks as well, which in my opinion helped the overall health of the game. I dont think nothing has been done to make the survivor experience less frustrating.

Yeah now with the ruin rework, if you can rarely or only hit great skill checks due to pure luck like myself. You don't have to worry, for good check skills won't make the gen take longer and no need for gen tapping.

  • @BigTimeGamer said:

I play both at red ranks

Killer "mains" are like alliance on WoW, they think that they are some oppressed people and any changes or nerfs to killers is a war crime, so they use moris, tunnel, slug and say things like, "I don't show mercy" or "Survivors ruin this game!!!" There are posts even today with those sentiments.

Yall need to remember its a game lmao, if BHVR ever decide to start fixing Ghostface's reveal, it wouldn't be some injustice

Well fixing Ghostface to make his reveal more consistence. Would just simply allow both sides to know when and when it's not possible to be reveal. Rather than just random luck at times. Which would be a good thing overall for both sides. Yet i doubt some would see it that way.

    @AvisDeene said:

I see the same amount of toxicity on both sides in game and out.

Most people i see are rather chill in game on the pc. Alot are friendly but every so often you will get jerks. The face camping bubba who simply wants to ruin peoples day and call others toxic for doing gens, when they are face camping.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

No, some killers are just toxic and decide they want to punish people for buying a cosmetic

Hate to break it to you but it's not just killers who can be jerks. That and the youtuber people brought up Monto in this thread, also plays survivor. He even has videos of him playing as survivor on his channel. So if he is being a jerk for content. Than i don't think you can really blame it on being a killer main or a survivor main, since he does play both. It's the person as a individual who made this choice on their own. It has nothing to do with being a survivor or killer. Just certain individuals.

It really is weird how the first player sacrificed seems to be the one with the bloody party streamer offering. I swear to god I would show more mercy for a survivor if I knew they were the one that brought a streamer. But alas, there is no way for the killer to know which survivor brought which offering until the end of the match. Don't take it personal.

Yeah i don't think anyone can blame you. Since all you are doing is playing the game as normal. Sometimes hey that just the roll of the dice, you bring a boost point boosting item and things simply don't turn out very well in the match and only get a handful of points.

  • Zone petty much cover everything i can think of. Which leaves me with only a few things to add. Ghostface best add ons, are his recovery add ons. Allows him to get his power back faster. Which can be useful in many cases, be it a survivor spotted and reveal you or just to get back to sneaking around slightly faster. One trick you can do as ghostface, is to 99% stalk someone from afar and than later fully stalk them, to catch them off guard. Yet op if you want to see how ghostface plays out in a real game. Here is a Ozt video of him playing as ghostface. https://youtu.be/1jiGKPd6rKU

I've seen a lot of youtubers recently like Monto tunnelling all bunny Feng's so maybe?

Could be Wabbit season, unless it's duck season.

  • Well spirit is a strong killer, if you are looking for that. Oni power relays on him injuring survivors. So if they are good at looping or see you coming, can make you take awhile to get your ability up and running. Which is why monitor and abuse can be useful on oni, to help get in that first sneaky hit. If you like hunting rabbits or something that is sort of like huntress, Deathslinger.

Of course if you are looking into other killers. Well leatherface is really just there for bbq if you ask me or you are a really big leatherface fan. So could always just wait for bbq to show up on the shrine to buy with shards. Ghostface and Myers are great to have, if you like sneaking up on survivors or jump scaring them. That or you like one shots. Of course if you are looking at things in terms of perks. Myers has save the best for last, play with your food. Which can be useful on a number of different killers, for a nice speed boost and faster recovery time after hitting a survivor.

    I don't ask questions....I just stab em....I mean ey....its free real estate.

Can't disagree with that logic. Hey free blood points. Since hey, they only have themselves to blame for not listening to ghostface's phone call https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW94QI414vM

As long as you can do a gen, make a save/heal, and run the killer for more than 10 seconds (which they do by wasting pallets, you rank up. You don't have to be good to rank up and that is the problem.

Yeah sounds like something might need to be looked into. Since i have seen some interesting survivors before, both playing as one and playing as killer. To think there is someone who has not learn to look behind them at red ranks. Just makes me blink, when keeping an eye on the killer is one of the most basic rules of looping. Than again, maybe i'm not a very normal person, due to having look up stuff online to help myself improve and get better at the game.

    Majority of killers are bad.

Do we need more proof than that?

Where did you get this data for this proof? For all i see is a mere statement, not really anything to back it up.

This ^^^^^ you're not playing against the old school consistent red ranks like you were before. The pip system is jacked up, the match making is jacked up, and a ton of people are BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSTED, LIKE....MEGA BOOSTED!!!

Since this new matchmaking came about.....I've seen red ranked players.....

    Who don't look behind them....

    Let that sink in....

How the heck did they get that high and never learn to look behind them? Have they never face a ghostface, Myers or other kill that needs you to look around with your eyes or be caught off guard by them sneaking up on you?

    No, it isnt you

Just had a game against 4 rank 1s today, probably SWF, I was playing deathslinger and I was quite rusty because I hadn't played him in a week.

I played just so, so bad, I was missing all my shots and was really struggling to down them, when I finally got a down it was near the basement, and because they were all altruistic dummies they all went down, they were only missing one gen and were about to finish it, but nope, they decided it was a better idea to kill themselves by rushing rescues in the basement ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I lost count of how many good games for survivors go wrong, due to swarming the hook for a save. Basically throwing the game, due to being to eager for that rescue.

How is that pitting the survivors against each other? You're not interacting with the other survivors at all, nor are you interacting with the killer. The RBT is actually forcing non-interaction. Maybe you have an easy time because people don't enjoy playing a walking simulator and want to interact with the killer/game in a meaningful way.

Seems like maybe you have a bit of buyer's remorse and need to project that on other people. To each their own.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1208934#Comment_1208934

Ah, OK. Go ahead and explain then since it's so complicated.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1208936#Comment_1208936

Whether or not she's good is irrelevant, the mechanic is unfun. Interaction should be maximized because we're not playing a single player walking simulator.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1208937#Comment_1208937

No, I'm resigning myself to having fun which involves interacting with the killer and not playing a walking simulator.

And it is literally reading comprehension issues as most of the replies have been something along the lines of "pig isn't OP" or "that's now how RBT works" when I've said neither that pig is OP or inaccurately described the mechanic.

I would just like to say. That walking around to the jigglesaw boxes is the same as walking from gen to gen. Hold a button, do skill checks. Only with more rng. Since you can get the bear trap off by going to the very first box you see or it could take longer, by having to go to two or three boxes. Maybe all of them if you are really unlucky. If dealing with pigs traps are a walking simulator, wouldn't that make doing gens also a walking simulator?

  • Congrats on reaching rank one.

  • Yeah i don't think i have ever seen a face camping ghostface or Deathslinger. I have seen Bubba face camping. Yet never a ghostface or deathslinger face camping. Maybe i'm lucky but i have personal never seen it.

Yeah but as we have learned it’s not about survivor, its all about killer fun.

I don’t see the fun in a killer like Legion where you just tap M2 and hold W but different strokes for different folks I guess

What do you mean it's all about killer fun? Do you mean game balance as a whole or simply people who play as legion?

well if you actually were a good killer you'd knock other survivors after leaving and run into the same survivor while not being next to the infinite which isn't even infinite btw stupidest isn't a word 😂 just shows the intelligence of most killer mains

I would like to ask you something, what counts as a good killer in your eyes?

  • One i been trying out recently is self care, botany knowledge, spine chill and Resilience. The first two are well for healing yourself and others. Spine chill for warning against sneaky killers. That and Spine chill combine with resilience will help you make that window and not get hit. Allowing you to loop around the map slightly longer. That and with all of these, you can do the classic heal to 99% trick and still get a boost to gen repair speed. Than heal up to full when in danger.

  • @YoshisCookies said:

running BPS means to me a SWF that means i shut them down by camping them hard/tunneling

I been in many random games, where people will just throw on a blood party steamer, just to be nice or going hey anyone have x? To try and get some extra blood points from the match. That and wouldn't face camping, if the other survivors are aware of what you are doing, kind of go against the point of blood party steamers, to give everyone more blood points? By denying yourself possibly a fair amount of blood points by simply face camping one survivor the whole game, rather than getting hits, chases or using your ability? Someone else throw up the item and even if you do poorly in the game by playing it normally, you are still benefiting from the offering someone else made.

  • @Huff said:

No, because people would just intentionally stay out of high ranks for easy games like they always do. They'll just have more of a reason to do it.

Petty much this quote right here. That and it would seem odd, that a basic element of gameplay is different, depending on your rank rather than the same. Which also makes it seem more like a punishment for ranking up, while offering no real benefits for ranking up.

Dude you aren't getting entity displeased if you won 90% of the game. You must have at least 2 dead and plenty of hook actions if you won 90% of the game, in which case is at a minimum a safety pip.

If you are getting entity displeased, then you were not getting hook actions nor a good gatekeeper emblem.

Also killers say "bring a key and I bring a mori" so now we want to punish them for luckily finding an item too?

They still needed to complete enough gens for the hatch to spawn. It's also pretty rare. I have only found 2 keys in chests. And both times I was running plunderwrs , so I basically gave up a perk slot to get lucky, which is what the perk is for.

You bring up a fair point. That i think alot seem to forget, you need to get the gens done for the hatch to spawn. That and maybe one or two survivors dead, unless you finish them all.

Which yeah i never got the idea behind someone brings a key, so the killer will bring a mori. Just seems like you are denying yourself blood points. By making the game shorter. Heck when up against a huntress once with the add on that makes her range attack into a one shot and she brought a mori along. That game ended so quickly, i think the highest amount of blood points was 12k from the killer. Who was not running bbq. I don't think they even made enough blood points to pay for the items and adds on they used. Yeah the killer won the game but at what cost? I would rather three survivors escape and get 20k or 22k blood points, than to murder them all but only get 12k blood points. Since heck, the person who holds the key will drop it on death. Allowing someone else to possibly find it. So someone would have to quickly mori all of the survivors, even the ones who didn't bring a key just to deny them a hatch escape.

Heck i run plunderers from time to time with ace in the hole. Looted a key with the add on that allows you to keep it, even if you die. I died in the match and still got to keep the key. I rarely bring items into a match, due to playing to many rpgs and going. Hmm i might need this later, so i better not use it right now. That and from all the games i played. Only a handful of times did the survivors escape thanks to a key. Normally it through the exit gates or being left for dead and finding the hatch before the killer. Like the one time me and a spirit found the hatch at around the time but i was slightly faster and got to it first. It was a blast. Which does makes me wonder, just how many games are won with the majority of survivors escaping, thanks to a key? Since from the games i play, it very rarely seems to happen. Making keys a thing that can influence a game from time to time but not really all the time.

This is in response to your second statement. I don't know any survivors who would classify you hitting the off-hooker as a "tunnel". Anyone willing to say that simply doesn't know what a tunnel is (apparently someone in this forum? LOL).

Survivors don't expect a killer to go to a far corner and hang out with their thumb up their ass. The expectation is the killer should go do the things he was designed to do...hunt down another survivor, destruct gens and slow the progression of the game, chase other survivors and destruct palettes. All the things that allow both killers and survivors to maximize their game to the advantage of their in-game currency and rank. This is not an unreasonable expectation. BT exists because camping exists. If this was a chicken and egg scenario, camping would be the chicken and BT would be the egg. Same with DS. It is not as though people are exceptionally excited to eat up perk slots to counter play styles, it is just an unfortunate necessity.

Also, you think having a safe match is boring....try getting face camped match after match as either the hooked person or the survivors in a gen simulator. It's a ######### snoozefest.

Yeah someone said that on these forums. You could see it by looking at Who EvilJoshy was quoting. Did you not look at who i was quoting or the original reply? If you look at EvilJoshy, he was quoting MigrandTheGreat, a post they made on the first page. Where MirgrandTheGreat talks about tunneling. By bringing up the perk make your choice, which puts the expose effect on the survivor who made the hook save for a period of time. Making it sound like they were implying it's tunneling to go after the person who unhook another survivor. Not the survivor who was unhooked but the person who made the save. If they were not implying that, than i'm sorry to MirgrandTheGreat for misunderstanding them.

Ok i can tell you didn't read my post. I did not say safe match. I said risky saves, as in saving someone off a hook while the killer is nearby. You know the thing burrow time was made for. Which is why i stated, burrow time would be pointless if there were no risky saves. Why is it everytime you reply to me, you seem to think somehow i am in support of facecamping? Which congrats good sir, i have been there as the hook person who got caught first and face camp by a bubba. Can you name me a single person in this thread who is in support of face camping? Since i can't seen to find one or have somehow overlook it.

Which with the placement of hooks in this game, sometimes a hook is right next to a gen, meaning a killer could possibly stay in an area for longer than normal. To kick that gen near the hook, to break that pallet that might be nearby, before going off to find other survivors. Since alot of this depends heavily on a thing called context. Since if all the survivors swarm the hook and make it clear as day they are nearby to the killer. You give the killer all the reason to stay around nearby in the area, which is what happen in this game i am going to link to. Which is why this whole debate heavily relays on context. Since a face camping bubba is massively different from a whole team of survivors swarming the hook and giving the killer all the reason in the world to stay in a certain area, since his objective. The survivors he needs to kill, are remaining around in one area. Which in that case it would be the survivors fault for acting dumb. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEcT_AIOKco

  • You bring up a very good point, that everyone who says camping is bad forgets to say. What is their meaning of camping? What counts as camping. Since if it was face camping, that tends to be say bubba standing in front of the hook nodding his head watching the survivor die. While i seen others say camping is a killer going back and forth between gens, to keep survivors off them.

Which as someone else pointed out in this thread. 5 seconds would not be enough time for a majority of killers to get out of hook range. Which also standing near the hook fails to take into context survivors swarming the hook to save the friend. Leaving marks and other clues like running right in front of the killer. Since well the Killer goal is to kill survivors and if they are all swarming the hook, they are all in one place. Making it not very logical for him to leave the area. When the survivors have done what is equal to shouting, "look at me look at me look at me" at the killer.

You gotta play killer if you want BP at an acceptable rate. Keep in mind you now need Ace and WGLF for any sort of BP management as survivor and now you have 2 perk slots for use.

Yeah since normally everything you do as a killer, leads to you filling up one of the blood points. Use your power? Get blood points. Chase a survivor blood points, hit them or down them, blood points. Hook them? Blood points. It all fits together more nicely, since you are going to be doing all of that anyway. With it all relaying on you and no need for anyone else.

While as a survivor, you can be going around getting the gens done. While your team mates loop the killer. While coming out with few blood points, due to not interacting with the killer very much. Due to slamming gens, while only maybe getting a heal or two in here and there. With survival being hard to get points in. That and someone else might of gotten the unhooks before you. Leading to there simply be factors outside of your control that will effect your blood points in a negative way.

  • @Alphaphalt said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1207354#Comment_1207354

All these ideas just force survivors who want to use items into Ace in the Hole, and perhaps plunderer's with your idea. BHVR why. :(

Yeah which now that you pointed that out, that would be one or two perk slots which could be used for something else. Like say burrow time, dead hard or something else that takes your fancy. Which can be alot to ask just to keep your add ons.

Wish i knew. Since i have no idea why the change was made. Would be interesting to know the logic behind it. Since it does make the game more grindly for survivors who like to use items. Which is why a blood point boost might be needed. Like say to daily rituals, make them more rewarding and hand out more blood points. That or just simply let survivors keep adds on if they escape, since well if they escape. It sounds like they earned the right to keep the add ons by doing a good job at staying alive.
