Doesn't work against me.
They mean any killer in the roster of killers players can pick from.
Not that they can work against any killer player and most definitely not against a godlike individual such as yourself.

Unpopular opinion but I wholeheartedly agree. It's not exciting or interactive to check my feet wherever I go, then loop him normally where I know he doesn't have a trap. The design is just really boring, even when playing him I can't shake the feeling that a bot could play Trapper just as well as I could.
a bot could play the entire game probably better then you could, better then anyone could, depends on how you program them.

It bears repeating on a daily basis, but what you're referring to is not a problem with the hitbox, it's an issue with latency and hit authority. Contrary to popular belief, the hitboxes are not flailing around uncontrollably. The issue arises because what you see and what the killer sees are two different things. You might see yourself around the corner, but since that information takes time to get from your system to theirs, they see where you were a fraction of a second before, when you were still in the open.

They are both projectiles. Hitscan would mean you hit where you're pointing instantly, projectiles are an actual object with travel time (i.e. you have to lead your shots). The Deathslinger's spear is much faster and flies straighter than a hatchet, but they are both projectiles.
ermmm no, because I know im going to get hits around corners because of the beachball hatchet hitbox.
If a survivor goes around the corner and I cant see them anymore, all I have to do is throw my hatchet right passed that corner to hit them, I do this all the time, you cant blame that on latency because even on my end it was a miss.
I just know that the hatchets have bs hitboxes:

I cant say Im noticing that much of a difference playing either side.
I was never an abuser of infinites in the first place and the most effective way of doing gens fast was to have every survivor on their own gen and it still is.
the speed decrease for gens when 2 people are on it also does not feel like a big deal, I basically dont notice it playing either side.
But that is probably good, subtle changes and if needed those can be pushed a bit further.
Big chances lead to stuff like Freddy's rework and that was imo just horrible all around.

But you can't fix camping. They tried a solution but survivors abuse it. If they manage to fix it, then DS and BT should be nerfed
Yes I know, Im merely addressing your complaint response to this post.

-Survivors - do you have any behaviours that you expect the killers you go against to follow, or not, as a matter of decency or good sportsmanship? Is there anything killers do that you consider scummy or 'toxic'? Do you follow these same rules if and when you play killer?-
Dont Camp, Dont Tunnel, dont immediately return to the hook upon an unhook, Dont slug at the end just to watch everyone bleedout (for everything goes, unless they have been toxic during the match)
Yes I follow these rules strictly as killer
-Killers - are there any rules that you impose on yourself while playing - things that you will or will not do in specific circumstances for the sake of being a good sport or not being 'toxic'?-
I dont run add ons, I dont use Mori's, both skew the game too much imo and are fundamentally unbalanced, also if multiple bloodypartystreamers are used or equivalents ill play seriously but I wont hook beyond the second and I let the survivors go if that is within my power, same for if I completely dominate I tend to let survivors go just because it feels like a bit of nonsense.
(Again, full disclosure: I am a design student, and the content of this discussion is relevant to the areas I am exploring as part of my Honours project. While I will not include any identifying information, such as usernames, I may use insights gained from this discussion as part of my work on that project.)

Well yeah, that is what happens when something isnt addressed and new players come who havent been defeated yet by the lack of action on the dev's part.
When topics like these are no longer discussed, either the problem has been solved OR the community has given up.

Nespresso?
To be a bit more serious, you should start streaming your perkless non frenzy Legion matches in which you constantly 4k, should make you some ez money because that is not something many people can do.
"if I get a 4k again next round, I ask that you my audience donate a combined 200 dollars to me" wtih a little bar at the top.
Also:
"Already Killers dominated the win/loss ratio across each platform. "
Im going to have to ask you a source for this, not to mention that data will be skewed beyond believe anyway, remember that the DC penalty system is implemented because survivors DC'd like crazy, so yeah that will skew the match data as massive wins for killers, but survivors just dip out if they dont like what hte killer is doing.
My experience is the complete opposite, full meta squad survivors who dont just meme around are hard to deal with as killer but as survivor I have been doing complete perkless and itemless runs with my friends and we do fine playing the last 4 weeks sooo yeah.

nah its just a joke

How much time do you have on this game? what rank are you in both survivor and killer?
(yes this is needed information for this sort of debate)
What radius are you thinking off? its kinda important and has to be defined anyway should the devs go with the plan.
What happens when survivors are close by the hook and the killer knows/sees this?
What does this matter for killers who have ways of returning in seconds (spirit / hag / nurse / (huntress in a way) / hillbilly / Oni)
What if you are in the basement? this is kinda related to the radius thing.
Honestly personally I think the solution more lies in rewarding not doing it or relieving some of the "suffering" the survivors have at the hand of a camping killer, then trying to find mechanics to punish it for killers.
Killers are not in the power position in this game, doing more to stop them from being able to do anything will most likely just result in less and less killers overall (heck many will probably go on strike merely because any sort of nerf was applied towards the killer side) meaning just longer and longer queue times aka no games for anyone.
-
Its handholding for baby survivors so it needs to stay otherwise a large group will feel inadequate to play this game judging by its popularity.
-
Posts like this always make me sad because people have been asking for stuff like this for years but nothing ever comes of them.
-
GAWD DAMN IT, I WAS GOING TO TYPE THAT RAAAAAGE
-
talk about not understanding the problem at all....
-
@Withered8 said:
The thing is a decent deathslinger is almost impossible to get away from unless u drop pallets early. Baby deathslingers are fun to vs because you can dodge their shots and bait them. Good deathslingers will just fake the shoot though and m1 you as you loose distance by preemptively dodging, which you have to. With huntress there’s a wind up time so she can’t just keep faking the shot. He gives off a lot of legion vibes, and he would be way better if there was an aiming time so he can’t just instantly shoot which is almost impossible to dodge unless you preemptively do it.
You have to balance it vs other killers, know that he has to be able to shoot you to be a thread so if you move around a lot of objects, the killer will have a hard time getting you, remember that he is fairly slow.
He is potentially strong, but hey, there is Nurse...
And a clever Trapper can end a chase before it even starts, and a Hag can.... they all have ways to end something quickly but all also have their weaknesses, Deathslinger is no exception

STOP REMINDING ME OF OLD FREDDY, I CANT BARE THE PAIN OF HIS LOSS :(
That first feng pic reminds me of Blair Witch Project....creepy af
-
Why would that need to be changed, survivors need to learn different killers might require different ways of dealing with them
-
I like this one because its as if Kate herself wants to help the devs out by reach her head over and saying "you see? im tooootally on the hook, this is not a glitchy mess, its all fine"
The door was open, I could walk through it but as you can see, it wasnt open... but looks cool, as if the monster is caged or something
Steve heard the killer coming and took a dive in the tall grass for cover!
Similar to yours, pray to your lord and savior William "Bill" Overbeck
We found a kindred soul....but obviously not running kindred because that goes against the entire concept.
-
they cant do everything at one time, in fact even if they did it would be a bad idea.
Better to do things in steps so they can get focussed feedback on an amount that is overseeable.
That said they dont do nearly enough of this imo, imagine if they just stuck to some plan, like update the textures of one map tile set per month and update a single underused perk once per month.
That is not a lot of pressure on them and it would have made by now a massive difference, we are now in may, we could have had 4 maps looking a tad more modern and 4 perks be made more viable by this year alone....
-
"The DC penalty, most people have experienced whether it be from exiting a match, losing connection, or the game crashing, but that's just it. The penalty doesn't affect dcing as much as it affects poor connection or the game dying, meaning innocent players will receive bans for unfair reasons."
Game crashing is really an issue on your end, update your PC
Losing connection during a match is also more then anything on your end, if you have unstable internet then you need to address that, other players should not suffer under your problems.
-
you should have them instantly, did you make sure the money was actually transferred? as in that you actually paid?
If you did you should open a support ticket rather then post about it here.

@PassarinoT said:
Suggesting this because Deathslinger has a very creative concept, but I feel so helpless as a survivor when a Deathslinger spears me and steps back and suddenly I have barely any time to reach objects near me. This is coming from a killer/deathslinger main, too.
If you play him then you already know what makes him weak where.
Missing a shot is painful, a survivor constantly going around objects is painful, when he finally gets you it should be a hit most of the time honestly, otherwise its kinda like saying survivors should have an easier time wiggling out.
Huntress telegraphs clearly a hatchet is coming but when she hits, its a hit.
Deathslinger telegraphs it less but when its a hit its not necessary a hit, that is the balance, but to make it even easier to (after you sorta messed up) to just deny that hit is not healthy imo.
But like I said a few posts above, trading some far shots for close up moving around the object hits is not perse a bad idea, bit of give and take.

Like they changed the perk because killers complained about it and now they are complaining about it again?. No offense but the game needs more important changes than a perk. I guess everybody wants the perk to get the Mettle of Man treatment. So far I have never been hit with DS. If I were to get hit by it, it is so easy to counter it. If they run to a locker, eat it up, they will become more weaker in the end game and you dont have to worry about it. Slug them or use BBQ to find other survivors and patrol gens. I am really sick and tired of people jumping from nerfing this to that and besides I am pretty sure the Perk won’t be touched for a long time.
yeah ok, now go for red ranks where everyone runs it along with Adren, BT and DH and you try to play a fun fair manner, aka no tunneling or camping...enjoy
-
Im not against it, just know this means more ability of the deathslinger to move around objects while having you spear'd to hit you.
-
I think deathslinger is great tbh, both to play and play against.
Always the eternal advice, if you have trouble going against him, play him a lot, learn where he is weak.
-
idk man, I think legion is pretty great.
-
first verify the files through steam (if you are playing on PC that is)
If that comes out clean, aka nothing gets download, I would manually delete the EAC file and then verify again so they are redownloaded, then try again.

Just FYI here is a before and after using the lumasharpen filter from Reshade:
-
You are correct, it was a while ago they forced AA on every quality settings.
See people are quite misinformed about the purpose of individual settings we want to be able to tweak, they feel everyone should see everything the same....but we already see different things based on our game setting, Low, Med, High, Ultra and there already are individual settings for all 4 of those, they are just not exposed in the game menu.
Low puts all 6 of these individual settings on low
Medium all on medium, high on high and ultra on ultra, thing is that something like Textures does not require GPU horsepower, it just requires a lot of Vram, so for many that can be turned to max (ultra) if they can just keep the rest on low or so.
ANYWHO, to get back to you, used to be you could set AA as an indvidual setting in the Usersettings.ini to 0, 0 being low settings which meant OFF.
But with the patch you mentioned, because of the way BHVR did the hair, AA was felt needed to make that look not like garbage, and ironically they made the entire game look garbage to specifically make the hair looks ok or as intended.
BUT, and this is the big one, players could still turn AA off (or even better, switch to the build in UE4 alternative AA technique called TAA) by adding a line of code to the engine.ini file.
Then a patch came and removed the ability to use that code, sooo people came up with another different line of code and all was well once more.
But with patch 3.7.0 that was made impossible to do, no way anymore to turn it off, that is why people are upset.
(now again with something like Reshade you can kinda combat it a bit but that is no excuse for how horrible the devs force their game to look....heck the game looks bad enough as is judging by some of the sorry excuses for textures).

By that do you mean stealth campers? Or or hardcore hook patrolling? Or both, I guess
pretty much but in my head I have the hardcore patrolling kind.
You run up for the unhook:
"oh the killer is back, ok the killer is after me oh dear oh dear....oh wait no, killer is going back? did they see someone else? OH THEY DID QUICKLY NOW...wait...no....no the killer is just coming back....and yep.....yeah I think thaaaat.... yep we got a camper, ok lets do some gens...dude is already in stage 2, this is great."

Ochido? thought he only appealed to 12 year olds, are you even allowed to be on this forum?

I have been doing perkless runs as survivor for the last....3 - 4 weeks now, going fine tbh.

Thats nice to hear. Any info about when it will get fixed?
considering they never fixed billy's chainsaw just...stopping or hitting the air right infront of you and stopping, I would say that it will get fixed the day after hell freezes over.
-
bloodwarden is one of those few things left in the game that brings some joy and surprise and panic.
-
Point is, Do gens or dont, the match is over anyway, like what value is there for anyone involved? if it was any sort of tournament it would be disqualified.
Also the real problem is campers who dont appear to camp, by the time you realize they are its already too late, too much time has been wasted.
But like I said, it does not matter, that match has had no value anyway, might as well just run up to the killer and die so you can go to hopefully an actual match after that.

- Basically ignoring every other Survivor on the map to make sure one Survivor is dead. Even if it makes no sense and will most likely lead you to lose the game.
- Because there's a surplus of Survivors but not enough people are playing Killer. Killer queues are instant btw.
on 2, you have a different experience then I or my friiends do then, around rank 7 to 1 in europe, killer queues take quite long.
-
1 going for one survivor regardless of anything else, complete ermm tunnel...vision on that one survivor, to get them out of the game asap.
2 because spaghetti code
-
Is it not a bit disrespectful for the lore to have pyramidhead in this game?
-
@Kaiju said:
So make 3 gens situations more impossible yeah
ERmm no? the point of a 3gen strat is that the killer is trying to be everywhere stopping survivors, a team of co-ordinated survivors will touch gen A, while the others touch gen C
keep this up and you will eventually get it done, if the killer choses to go for someone, again, one gen will pop.
And if you sit on the other side of the map doing nothing because the killer is doing nothing but camping the 3 gen strat (which the survivors caused) then yeah the game will end and rightfully so.
-
more problematic, nothing about the getting stuck in or at a pallet after being slammed by it bug....
-
Your words may stir and individual but won't move the crowd.
But perhaps that is enough
-
camping, tunneling, returning to the hook, they make the game ez for killers.
thought I will say that tunneling to a certain degree can help ensure that DS is no longer in play which otherwise could work against you in the endgame.

variation is the spice of life but ever since they buffed doctor more frequently you go up against him in games like his power stops you from doing literally everything except vaulting, it should not effect item usage.
idk man, I dont use items in the first place, they are a luxury on top of your perks.
If you know you are facing doctor, I just feel you have to pay attention to madness levels, its not like he can instantly throw you into madness 3 and you can just go and snap out of it somewhere else.
This really should not be this much of a problem, I know it isnt for me.

no help i got 3 time crash today and 2 time error 4 is not only me others too have that error after last patch like always devs broke again dbd
ok so after verifying the files, steam just tells you they are all checked and intact?
Could try removing EAC and then running a verify again just so its downloaded and restored, that might fix it.

ermm...did you try what the message tells you to do? verifying the game files on steam?
