  • This is 100% Laguna from ff8

  • Sound bug where there's no chase music when playing killer (this was in a legion matchs o could just be another legion bug). The game is literally silent apart from sound affects and voices

  • Bloodwarden is bugged (not sure if just new killer or in general) and will let survivors escape before the timer is up (seen on Otz' first match today)

There's no lag between entity blockers disappearing at the gate and a survivor who was incapacitated by victor being downed like was supposed to be added in the release :))

  • On a whole i agree with you that there is usually far too much whining done about a lot of things in the game but I think right now with the current situation of dbd after today, almost everything being said is justified.

Its definitely not some bugs here and there, its bugs consistently every single time there's any sort of update without fail, to the point where they can ruin whole matched and make parts of the game completely useless. And it's not only that, but how long it takes for these bugs to be addressed and fixed at all only for the fixes to cause more problems when they eventually do come. Its absolutely terrible practice for any company and I don't know how BHVR can do thsi consistently and not be embarrassed by the name theyre making for themselves.

Iโ€™ve only done one match on wretched shop, but Victor latched on definitely blocked the exit for the survivor he was attached to in that match.

I think they mean as in they were supposed to be adjusting him so that if you were knocked right at the exit, the entity blockers stay up for an extra 5 seconds or so after to give the killer a chance to oick you up after their hit cooldown, which doesnt happen now at all

It just makes the feature of victor blocking the exit useless without the lag time between being knocked and entity blockers disappearring being there

Do you believe it would work?Pls Explain Why Or Why Not

I believe the it would be a chapter that brings Lee Everett,The Zombie, & A Map The Gas Station.

I actually put down TWD as my preferred license in the satisfaction survey!! I think zombies would be lackluster as killers a bit in the style category but id love to see lee or clem as the survivor!

  • I actually think it's fine all things considered, especially with the new lowered repair threshold. Paired with pop and particularly on a high mobility killer I think it will be quite strong now even in spite of the downsides you mentioned. Every good perk should have a downside like those for balance and there are plenty of perks that exist that have an even stricter limited use feature (rancor, bitter murmur, dark sense, detectives hunch, surge, hexes etc etc), looking at tinkerer as a whole its very possible you'll get more than the typical 5 activations you expect

The fact that the game is still survivor sided after a ######### ton of nerfs is VERY telling, survivorloops got nerfed and made unsafe? Survivors just resort to the press W to win tactic now against m1 killers.

You're right, they should take away the W button.

  • I only play wraith so I'll only speak for him,

The sprint increase is way WAY too long there, it's currently 1 second which can usually be fine, I would literally only buff it to 2 seconds if it was to be buffed at all.

I would buff his cloaked movement speed a bit though yeah

I let people go during the event when I was getting my crowns. Once I got them all though then I went back to playing normally.

And that's completely fine, killers aren't under any obligation to let survivors go at all, there's plenty of time to get crowns anyway.

I think a lot of people appreciate just playing normally anyway, it can take so long to get matches sometimes that it can be very disappointing to get farming matches if you just want a good game so even though i let people who are trying to get crowns go, I'll still play completely normally for the match until the end or until the person with the sparkles is on death hook, in which case I'll just ignore them for the rest of the match.

(Also when i say trying to get crown i just mean if they don't have it on but have the sparkles after collecting it in the match, otherwise everyone is treated the same whether theyre wearing the cosmetic or not)

If you are referring to me, I'm not claiming all survivors are toxic. But I put up with toxic survivors every day and if they can't show appreciation during event and getting crown, I see no need to let them escape anymore.

That's fair enough, I wasn't referring directly to you btw because I know you didn't say every survivor in fairness but seeing it was what reminded me to add it along with the killer bit because I have seen some people complain about survivors like that. I absolutely wouldn't judge or trash talk a killer who doesn't let a survivor trying to get a crown survive the match if they were being toxic and bming, I know how immensely frustrating that is.

Even saying that, I don't think killers have any obligation to let survivors go in a match anyway if theyre trying to get the crown, there's plenty of time to collect them, but i do think it's scummy for killers to play in a poor sport way by bleeding out, camping etc solely to prevent someone from escaping with a crown.

  • I would love this so much, I recently started rewatching twd playthroughs and was thinking the exact same thing!!

I don't think I'd bring a twd themed killer with her though, I'd just have her as a solo addition like ash or bill.

  • Nope, I definitely haven't seen a change, only been robbed of grabs for the past while

  • I mean, I've been letting people who are trying to get crownd go the whole event, even if it means missing out on my 3k or 4k and I've only ever gotten respect and gratitide messages for it, and this is on ps4 where we don't have egc do you have to directly message the person.

Definitely isn't all of the killers like you're crying it is and definitely isn't that survivors are always toxic when you let them go like other people cry they are.

  • Not up to ewhat a red rank/top standard should be? A lot of them sure, I completely agree with you.

Bad? Not at all. You still have to play on a regular enough basis to retain a high rank and that will make you a better player over time. If it was true that red ranks are mostly bad survivors we shouldn't have an issue with red ranks being matched with yellow and grey ranks who are also supposed to be 'bad', but we know this IS an issue because current problems with matchmaking are highlighting it.

It's more that a lot of red ranks don't meet the skill level they should to be in that bracket but that does not make them in any way 'bad' survivors and definitely should not take away from a killer performing well consistently and just have it put down to bad opponents.

In that case there's no real way to distinguish between good killers and bad killers because they're all going up against bad survivors apparently so it can never prove anything?

I didn't say every, I said most. And I am among those bad red rank survivors (just look at the clips I posted in the sound bug thread if you want to see). It is far, far too easy to rank up in this game what with the bad matchmaking and single color reset that was implemented awhile ago. And it shows.

And I didn't say every red rank I said the majority :-)

You're absolutely right that it's too easy to rank up but saying that the majority are bad survivors just because a killer the fanbase constantly disregards and only ever considers as underperforming actually isn't underperforming consistently at high ranks in this instance is not accurate either

  • @[Deleted User] said:

i mean jund went on a pretty decently long winstreak with bubba with speed limiter so

I think it's less "Bubba is underrated" and moreso that most people at red ranks aren't even good at the game.

I actually cannot believe that when he does consistently well at all you'd rather say that the majority of every single person in red rank, hundreds of people, are bad at the game rather than that the killer could possibly be decent with enough time and understand

This is such a simple one that you wouldn't normally look out for after it's been done successfully and without issue before. You're right, it should lay on their shoulders the burden of blame but you have to admit this is something that would've flown under the radar (and did) when they're looking for much bigger issues in the rest of the game haha.

True, but even just in general, so many big bugs and common bugs make it through it makes you wonder either just how many there are initially before QA team even gets their hands on the new code that they miss so many or how well they can actually do their job as a competent QA team when so many bugs make it through so consistently.

I obviosuly don't know exactly how BHVR works internally as a company and maybe QA have brought these bugs to the attention of other relevent departments who have chosen not to address them immediately and push forward the patch anyway but its not very professional either way

  • @coppersly said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1388609#Comment_1388609

I would just dismiss this as silly normally but it's been days now and such a simple bug is still hanging on. Idk you might be onto something.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but should most of the blame for all these bugs be put on the QA team? Like arent they supposed to be the ones who test all this stuff and let the programmers know about these issues before they make it out into the actual game so they can be fixed?

  • Brown bag is a decent addon though tbh..

Also no matter what way you put it it's a choice to not use at least one perk so? I mean dont inherently disadvantage yourself i guess if you have issues as this killer?

  • @bm33 said:

I think they just don't trust the killer - there's alot that will message survivors saying they want to farm only to kill them all fairly quick. Fall for that couple times and you don't trust killers actually want to have a farming match.

    This completly

Sometimes in fairness there are genuine farms and I dont like them but if I have a challenge or killer has a challenge to do I don't mind as much.

But for example in the past two days alone I've had 3 fake farmers.

A michael who messaged pregame to farm and I said okay but I had stun challenge, 4kd everyone asap and was super cocky about it after

An oni who tapped the gen abd acted friendly and I thought he might have the damage gen challenge so i did but he hit me straight away so he could get his power and down my healthy teammates, really felt crappy after that one

And a legion who only frenzied the whole match but ended up having noed bloodwarden and started being aggressive as soon as gens done (thank god i had detectives hunch though and prevented the noed)

It's the same as how if killers try to let me wiggle out to open exit gate or crawl out as last survivor I literally won't cooperate because more often then not they just troll in the end having wasted your time

Its not a super common thing so Im not mad about it but I think it does come down to a trust issue there definitely

I know it doesn't and they should really gift bp as an apology and compensation but when have they ever done that

But what if a survivor genuinely wants to play the game normally. But now they can't because of the killer. Now the killer can play how they want but I see this like when the killer is farming but some survivors just want to play normally

Right and I understand completely where you're coming from that because I don't enjoy matches like this either. That's why I said from what they have said everyone or mostly everyone has fun, they have absolutely no bad intent from what they are doing so I'm not going to slate them for it and it's not common to come across that kind of match either.

The survivors who don't enjoy it so much at least have the option to just quickly do the gens as the killer is occupied with the teammates who do want to participate and leave the trial quickly enough. If they want to be chased by the killer, mostly the killer will do it they just won't get hooked at the end. I would be against it if it was like a hostage situation but as long as the survivors who don't want to do this still have the option to peacefully just do the objective and leave I don't mind, especially since that kind of game is quite rare and this person is at low ranks where there are more beginners and it's generally less competitive

So you're basically being a play thing. Kind of shows that dbd should have a thorough, forced tutorial when you first log in that covers, looping, struggling, perks and other things instead of just healing and repairing

It's their choice and they're having fun, that's how theyre choosing to play I don't see why you take such issue with that? From what they're saying it sounds like everyone is okay with it and having fun so what's the problem you're trying to make out of it?

You can have all the tutorials about looping in the world btw and it still has absolutely no comparison to the experience you gain against real killers in live matches

  • I think the not clicking profiles was on purpose though, seems like something theyd do to prevent salt messaging pos match

  • I can't share screenshot easily because I'm PS4 too but same happened to me yesterday

I played against a legion on coldwind farm and thought okay they definitely had discordance but the result screen showed I actually played a no perk doctor?

  • @Quol said:

He is a nice guy and the way he interacts with his chat in a friendly way makes me like him a lot but im not the only one that sees how insanely passive aggressive he gets when he starts losing, right? No one mentions it and it seems like everyone ether ignores it or accepts it and I have no idea what to make of that.

I mean I understand completely why he'd be like that though, it's frustrating and aggravating to lose in general but in his case he is so well known for being this amazing killer main that he does have that added pressure of having to constantly perform well in front of a big audience. I think be handles his frustration quite well most of the time, everyon has their moments however and he's no exception of course like just the other day when he let a clicky clicky get to him a little too much. I really appreciate that he will admit to his shortcomings though and give the survivors he plays against credit where it's due and acknowledge when he was fairly outplayed which is something I find quite a few big dbd names don't deal with well regularly..

On another note, I really like Otz as a person and I enjoy his content, I appreciate as well that he is absolutely not afraid one bit to openly call out the issues with DBD and disagree with other people's opinions (although i don't agree with everything he says, I do thing he usually comes out with very fair suggestions or remarks about the state of the game)

  • @RayrafLPP said:

Just dont know why something like that isnt tested out.

For example: Lets Disable keys and moris for 2 weeks and see how the games play out.

Or remove noed for 2 weeks and see what happens.

Can change it back afterwards, but isnt this the best data you could get for decision making?

I think this would be a very good idea if they had some sort of a seperate matchmaking for it, similar to a ptb. The risk you have with ptb method though is that it would be harder to get a wider range if data since noone is forced to participate and queue times could get terrible so it wouldn't be worth it.

It definitely wouldn't work integrating test phases into normal matchmaking and forcing people to participate in what could be something they hate or more likely, something that has caused a whole load of new bugs. There definitely needs to be some sort of test mode that's regular or ongoing to gather feedback and performance data and actually observe the potential bugs ut could cause rather than just releasing the patch straight into the main game and then waiting for the next immediate round of bugs to come from it that you have just integrated into your came because it hasn't undergone enough testing

Also they do auric cells in boxes on mobile but only around 5-50 or so. But yeah they likely wouldn't do this

    Thanks for the feedback! :)

No prob, that's actually very true about mobile, they're a lot more leniant on auric cell handouts

Yep, I do have proof but I can't seem to load video's on this site so how long does it take you to do one gen 80 sec right but when I use a toolbox even when it says tremendously increases repair speed it takes me 80 sec I even noticed when I'm repairing with someone else with a toolbox whether I have it or the player does it still takes 41 or 42 sec plus or minus a sec or two, so that's half the load with two people that means 20 or so secs a piece it should be at least less tha 40 secs with toolbox with two people oh! and make sure you start working on gen at the same time so let me ask you how long does it take you to repair a gen wth toolbox by yourself

That's not how gen speed works.

I play console, I've been using prove thyself a good bit lately and there is absolutely a difference. Same with toolboxes but I don't think they're worth it for gens anymore anyway tbh

Just a few ideas I came up with to reduce the grind. I'm feeling it heavily trying to get decent perks on Cheryl and Pyramid Head.

    - Characters are guaranteed to get more of their own perks at certain thresholds if they haven't gotten them already. For instance, bloodweb levels 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15 for Cheryl are guaranteed to have at least one of Cheryl's perks

    - If you have a perk equipped when a new bloodweb is created you are much more likely to get the next tier of that perk in the new bloodweb. Maybe 25% more likely?

    - If you have an item equipped upon creating a new bloodweb you are more likely to get add ons for that item

    - The Entity is more clear about which perk it wants to take the first time it appears (Entity's claws around it). Sometimes when two perks are on one side of the bloodweb it's hard to know which perk it will go for

    - Make a guaranteed BP booster of each rarity for every bloodweb: one brown, one yellow, one green

    - At level 50 when the Entity presents 4 new perks make two required to be new ones you don't have and two upgraded tiers of ones you do have

    - For a period of time (maybe 24 hours) after you unlock a teachable perk, make it much more likely to appear in newly created bloodwebs for all characters

    - Sometimes mystery boxes will have shards, auric cells or bloodpoints in them

    - Allow us to lock one teachable perk for each character so it won't appear in other characters' bloodwebs until we unlock it. This let's us avoid perks we have no interest in

I like all of these ideas a lot except for the item equipped = more likely add on as it could be a bit abusable, especially on the killer side if it worked the same way with having one addon equipped in the place of an item, and also the auric cells in mystery boxes just because that has to be bought with actual money and I don't think it would ever be in the question

    V solid ideas though

im sure this rank 3 Steve would agree XD thats exactly what happened in this match and... yeah, some people just dont get how Pig works

    RANK 3 LMAO

I think a big part of it is how uncommon pigs are, I absolutely love going against her she's my favourite to go against but unfortunately I don't see her that often so people end up learning the hard way

  • @Mookywolf said:

i just had a match, as pig... where two Claudettes self cared themselves with activated RBTs... this is why you should read the thing on the loading screen that says what the killers are about. those poor Claudettes. I hope they learned.

I think survivors need to know about pig a lot more, I still find it one of the funniest things in the game when someone tries to leave with an activated RBT and all you can do is just stand there and watch them die at the gates

  • I think people are completely overreacting about the chapter and the game tbh. Of course people are entitled to their own opinion but the game is still bashed over every aspect of it to an extreme

The dlc perks are fine for both sides, every single chapter people complian about perks being useless before even giving them a chance.

The bugs are a huge issue I completely agree and I just feel like okay we have the big anniversary dlc out, I think EVERYONE would appreciate and even advocate for a break in new content so that core bugs and issues can be addressed properly and most importantly promptly to an acceptable standard.

PH as a killer is also fine, his power is fine, it's nice that he brings a whole new dimension to the game with the cage mechanic.

I agree that the map needs some work, it's brilliant aesthetically and atmosphere wise but it is way to tedious to traverse for both sides.

I honestly don't care about scott as an individual so I don't think that just because he came out and said he's not playing killer anymore it should be taken more seriously than other people who've stopped for the same reason but it sad that that's probably what it will take for the devs to take more quick action on the issue, especially when sound is often one of the most vital sources of information for the killer in a match

    **edit**

Okay after going through it I take it back that patch and bug wise yes this is probably one of the worst positions it's in. The content if the chapter itself is absolutely fine bar structure of the map but I seperate the bugs from the chapter content while discussing their issues.

As for skins I'm reluctant to say anything because it's very likely Konami has something to do with how they were done this chapter

The issue is that the tome only gets you up about 40 tiers, leaving you to basic matches or spending for the last 30.

See this to me is very worrying, to put into perspective I've been working on getting from a quarter of the way through level 50 to level 51 over the past 2 and a queue just through basic matches and I only just got it. Thats for 3 quarters of 1 level

Yes i hate it! It's so greedy! People saying "oh it's just like every other battlepass" no, i know for a fact it's way worse than fortnite and cod...and red dead if you want to count that but it can literally be completed in a day lol. Other battlepass are fun because you're constantly making progression by just playing and you have multiple challenges active at once so they don't take forever and you don't completely waste your time when you have a challenge like "stab 5 survivors in one feral frenzy" because you're still working towards "earn 150,000 BP" and "Chase survivors for 600 seconds"

It makes me sick because they're already selling 10, now 15, dollar skins on a paid game that has a constant stream of paid dlc. And the whales will still buy all tiers day one for 50 dollars so i don't understand the concept of making it this bad. To nickle and dime a few people who are willing to put im grind but can't make it? I actually completed tome 1 and stopped playing durning almost the entirety of tome 2 because of how ridiculous it was. Paulie said it took about 200 hours. HOURS.

Come on man they need to stop with this. This is also the only battle pass i know of that doesn't have double weekends or anything to help progression along

The idea of having multiple challenges active (to a limit of 2 or 3 maybe would be so helpful in terms of relieving some of the tedium with challenges like do x gens, damage x gens, chase x survivors as you can pair another challenge with them

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1368347#Comment_1368347

The rift like all battlepasses is not designed to be completed by everyone or it makes no money as players will get it for free each time.

The battle pass business model has always been about the majority not quite making it so they keep buying some cells to top it up or buy the rest of the tiers to complete it. Unfortunately it seems you fall into this camp.

Since they always said you can progress through the free one at the same speed and then buy it and reap the rewards if they put in even a slight booster for those purchasing the pass at the beginning it negates that principle.

This is personally why I never buy battlepasses.

It's very true it would negate the principle but it would also provide an extra worthwhile incentive to buy the premium pass early.

Again i understand it's not meant to be very easy to do but I still thing it's too tough even for dedicated players. I think the difficult of leveling puts off more purchases than would be potentially lost if they made it a little easier to progress, I just think it's poor taste especially when many of the rewards arent wonderful (the charms mostly in this respect)

I completely get what youre saying with the business end of things but I still think it could be done better without negatively affecting sales

I might turn it back on sometime soon and see how it is, but as of now... no way.

I mean no offense but I've been playing on PS4 for over a year now and I've only ever gotten one negative comment and it was just the typical "reported", everyone else just says thanks or gg or most often, nothing. I don't think there are more toxic people in the playerbase than non toxic, I just feel like the toxic people stick out more and are for more memorable in a game than the average player and they are a lot more vocal than the non toxic part of the playerbase

Not really, I finished the rift before the 4th set of challenges came out, but I do play the game daily for hours.

Yeah its possible I never said it was but as @Always_available said they played for hours daily, the devs have stated before that they tried to model tier profression around the typical average daily play time which is 1 hour but this isn't the case especially given volatile queue times and I've seen quite a few people on the same boat

I do obviously think that tiers shouldn't just be handed out to you but I think that it should not be so difficult to progress through the pass if you miss a couple of days or dont play for hours on end every day, it's a bit excessive right now. I'd even settle if they just gave a boost to people who bought the premium pass since they spent actual money on it and it would be a bigger incentive to buy it.

Honestly I don't see how anyone at all misses out on lowering the progression requirements of the rift tiers a bit

I just had a match against a guy that apparently didn't know how to use him and I was able to get 5 stuns in one chase, lol. So I'm halfway there. First match of the day. I was able to complete the Tome from the bottom right side. Was so easy it was ridiculous. Im just only on tier 52 of the Rift and want to get higher. I did almost every single challenge on the other levels and only made it that far. There's only 3 I didn't do. One Legion one and two Huntress ones. They just sounded too hard. I'm just kinda disappointed I only made it to Tier 50 again, and I feel like I did way more of the harder challenges. Don't think I have time to play the like 200 matches it would take to get the fragments from levelling up.

I am on the exact same boat as you

I think I'm almost tier 51, fell behind between levels being released and even though I play every day I feel like I'm not going to be able to reach the end and I've done every challenge except for legion and kate because I don't have her (I even did huntresses and yeah as someone who never plays her they were as difficult as they sound :( )

I usually don't mind not being able to get all the tiers even though it is disappointing when you feel like you've put in the time but this rift I really wanted yui's skin and to get all the auric cells back at least so I can use them for wraiths/yuis own tome. I only have had so much time for this one because of covid but I might be going back to work in just over a week so I doubt I'll ever reach level 70 either

Congrats on getting the challenge done though!
