  • Is this game playable again on ps4? I dont even try at the moment, just hop onto this thread every few weeks^^

  • is it better now? I didnt play on my ps4 since nemesis and Im not going through 90 pages to see whats up atm^^

  • I cant afford a ps5 :( guess i cant play the game then. as it isnt already enough that my ps4 turns into a plane when I start the game, now its just a never ending freeze counter.

  • How comes that nearly no big content creator talks about this? A huge part of the community has a miserable time playing this game. There should be so many videos about it.

I do not wish this level of performance on anyone.

Unfortunately, it is starting to affect PC users as well.

I dont wish anyone a bad experience. But I think until everybody is affected nothing will change. Hope it is clear that i dont want others to have a bad time because I have^^' thats not what im looking for.

  • I hope they make it as worse on PC in the near future so they HAVE to do optimisation. Otherwise we wont get it. It needs to affect everyone until people actually stop playing in high numbers.

Good news is: They will probably crash the game on PC too. Im sure they are capable of that^^

If you are saying that there should be a button that if ALL REMAINING SURVIVORS push it within say 30 seconds of each other, they all immediately sacrifice to the Entity and the Killers gets credit for a full three hooks on everyone, sure... I'd be behind that. :)

Dude We all want fair matches dont we? in a propper matchmaking you dont want killers to be super high in the list because survivors quit every time they get downed.

If course all bloodpoints that were achieved duing the trial should be handed out. Mabye even extra BP because of the waiting time for a boring trial.

But there should be no Pips given when a trial wasnt really played out.

  • The typical issues on console.

    Lags, freezes, bad performance etc.

    Someone Dead hards? Lags

    Someone gets hooked? Lags

  • I love surge. I feel like no one pairs it with ruin and thrilling tremors.

Every Gen regresses because of ruin, but if someone is on a gen while you down someone they still explode because of surge ( because they are not regressing at this moment)

And then you pick them up and thrilling tremors blocks all of them + you see where they are not blocked (so theres a survivor)

You can buff surge all the way, but with the right combination it already is super helpful.

  • I enjoy loosing against a god nurse. It does happen one every 500 survivor games maybe and I just appreciate how good the player is with this killer. I know there is counterplay to nurse but i cant learn it because there are few nurses around.

I dont enjoy being stomped by a Meta spirit because its not that much work you have to put into winning.

I dont enjoy being stomped by a 4 man squad that does 5 gens in 5 minutes and eveyone leaves with 10-15k bp because doing gens fast is also not super hard.

Thats why people complain about spirits and SWF (it feels bad to lose against)

and why people dont complain about nurse that much. (people have 9 baby nurses that cant do anything before facing a good one)

Good nurses are respected because of the work they put into the character. Especially console nurses

  • Legion or Myers, because they have no downing power. (this means they have to m1 a survivor wich can be super weak against decent survivors who know how to run tiles)

Everyother killer has a downing power.

    Nurse blink

    Demo shred

    Bubba and Billy Chainsaw sprint

Oni Demon rush ( although he need to m1 to get blood orbs)

    Trapper/ Hag have traps

Wraith and spirit have speed boosts when they activate their abillity

Nemesis has a over the pallet attack

Slinger trickster huntress are ranged killers

clown and freddy have anti loop slowdown

    Twins have victor to down

    blight has speed for downing

doc has the abillity to shock survivors so they cant drop pallets/ vault windows

It is only myers and legion that have no power to down survivors fast. I would even say that they are similar in powers:

Legion gets the first health state for free

Myers can do a one shot.

Both skip a health state but the cost is being super loopable or predictable.

    Not that I know of.

I feel like ScottJund could make a fairly decent video on it tho.

I think It would be nice to ask many bigger streamers to play one stream on console. Just one person wouldnt have a big impact. But a big community day where many streamers participate on console just to showcase how bad it is would put some more light on the issue. Scott has done many videos with nice ideas, but they were ignored. Hes not big enough.

  • why isnt this pinned? its a huge problem for many players. Should be pinned until answered

  • @Seraphor said:

Nah. If someone DCs from my match, I'd much rather just carry on and get the bonus BP for them DCing.

I'd hate it if one person DCs in my game, then everyone just gives up and DCs after because no penalty, and then I walk away with nothing.

Being able to reconnect after DCing would be abused. About to die? DC, wait less than 90s then rejoin, killer is now somewhere else and you're safe.

    1. You would get the BP that you collected until you DCd( if youre not the first to DC)
    2. Yeah I get that one, but then you could make it like in Apex legends. If you DC your character still stands there and can be interacted with until you reconnect in those 90 seconds.

You can't opt out of an update for an online game.

    It doesn't work that way.

Dev has control over everything. If they don't want to rollback nobody is rolling back. And believe me BHVR has no intention of rolling back.

I asked If they COULD do it^^ thats what i want to know :)

  • As a survivor: When I have fun. I dont know why but I dont have any frustration as playing survivor.

As Killer: Never. losing as killer feels just bad. Even if you get three survivors and the last one escapes through hatch it feels like a loss, because most of the times they will wait until youre there before exiting. This feeling of not being able to do something is kinda like a loss even if i got the other three.

  • @kyogul said:

The only bait you can do afaik is waiting until you're pretty much touching their back or you do a quick flick upward and that can sometimes make the survivor think you're starting your hitting animation

However this isn't foolproof and people who know how to use Dead Hard well won't fall for this easily

well thats common sense, but me and other people dont have a problem with this, the problem lies in loops.

if the survivor loops you and you start catching up slowly, the outcome will always be the same:

loop around the pallet two times, killer catches up where he would get you, but on the third loop you use DH for distance and drop the pallet.

in my world theres no counterplay to this, but people keep telling me thee is. so how is my question

  • @Dpooly said:

Dead Hard is NOT OP, so easy to bait once you realize they have it. Wish people would quit crying for nerfs, but I might as well crap in my other hand.

Whenever someone uses "its easy to bait out" as a counter argument, does not know how to use DH.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

"You cant nerf DH without giving it a buff to compesate"

LOL yes you can! this kind of mentality is why the game is in the mess that it's in. Case in point Old moris, 1st gen NOED, old MoM, 1st gen BNPs.....all of them got nerfed without compensation because guess what? they were too damn powerful.

Dude without the Distance DH would literally be a time safe of 2 seconds. And thats only when you dont dont end exhausted on the ground.

Dh is a strong perk because it isnt used the intended way, and the intended way would be super weak. If you want to balance the game you dont just kill a strong perk, you balance it. And DH without distance would be straight up bad.

Moris are now useless, NOED isnt because it got a good nerf. You know theres a room between super broken and super weak. And thats where you have to aim for both with buffs and nerfs.

  • You cant nerf DH without giving it a buff to compesate. If you took away the distance aspect it would be useless.

So If you nerf it please come up with a buff to compensate.

I dont like DH for distance either, so my solution would be to give you a Sprintburst effect if you successfully dodge an attack, but the animation would need a rework for it so people "duck" under a lounge for example so they dont get any distance. But since an animation rework is way more work then tewaking some numbers (which they already need month to do) it will never happen.

  • I dont use Ds and exhauston perks.

Maybe I was a bit unclear about what I want.

Either CHANGE BT so it does only work on yourself when you are being unhooked and remove the effect that it gives while unhooking others.

Or just make a new perk for that only.

But I guess it could be to strong if you run both perks so in an SWF there could be one "unhooker" that only does that.

  • @Kebek said:

But but, how will you get your feeling of accomplishment after getting 8 hooks and 4 survivors escape.

That kicks in after the first Safe pallet trow anyways

Just Wow, my mind is blown!

  • Survivor: Nancy I just like her, i liked her in stranger things and survivors are just skins anyway.

Killer: Guess my main would be Pyramid head because i play him well. I like his ranged attack and people dont tbag me after dropping safe pallets. Its just the survivors reaction to him that makes me enjoy playing him.

You cant get cocky with DS and stuff, you cant tbag without being punished. Its just an anti troll survivor killer.

So i wanted to create a discussion about this new patch, i have been playing DBD for about a year, S R4 and K R1 and as a developer i can't stop thinking this game is just dying on console and being crossplatformed into mobile.

On this patch i detected the following subjects and i would like the community ( players, testers, mods ) to share their opinion.

    • The New HUD, its awesome we can see the face of the players, easier to know who is who
    • Map colors - with each patch the game looks less scary, more vivid and kind like a mobile game ( even the current HUD looks like it was just ported from mobile to ps4
    • Hit system - yeah, it sucks, i did not play again every killer but this was poorly developed and also poorly tested
    • Bug - killer being teleported?
    • Movement animation - i just ask myself, who in his/her right mind would say, yeah this animation looks better than the current one, there are so many things that can be improved and you decided to waste your time in developing ( mostly integrating the animation i guess ) something awful.

Obviously, this is only my opinion, but if you give yours we might get their attention and things will be solved.

    Cheers!

I really Dislike the new HUD, its all over the place. Example: I play as clown, Whenever I hit someone I look down left for whats going on, is somebody picked up of the ground or something, and how many bottles do I have left to finish the chase. Now I have to look bottom left for my bottles and then upper left for what the survivors are doing. And I swear to god, I counted my hooks before, if they dont want me to show who is hooked how often then dont show me at all, it just wastes space. There will be a claudette hiding behind a tree and this hook icon will hide her im sure it will happen some day. And also the survivor pictures are to colerful, They should have had the adept icons instead, every icon is white and a pink meg picture just seems off to me.

For map colors: I dont know, I play on ps4 and everything looks bad to me, i like the gameplay not the graphics. Maybe I would care if the game ran well enough to appreciate the surrounding. I still think some maps are way to dark ( yamaoka, the game under floor) this would be worth a rework before general graphic standards.

Hit system is bad, nothing else to say

Didnt experience any new bugs until now

I dont like the new injured animation, looks just silly to me but thats debatable I guess.

They have said it's a complete overhaul, not just moving icons around. I suppose you could wait a couple hours and find out, but I guess the better option is to just immediately complain about it instead.

How many times do we have to tell them this new UI is garbage?

The console players saw it and even they agreed with everyone who played it saying it's literally the worst possible UI they could have ever made.

So the real question is, how much backlash are they willing to take? Everyone is gonna be angry at them till either the UI improves or is reverted back to the old one.

So what will they do I wonder?

"even they" dude console players are the same people plaing this game just on another platform. What did they do to you XD

But if you don't want to watch, then these are the mistakes:

    1. Continuously chasing good survivors on dangerous loops

    2. Not relying on perks and your power

    3. Not breaking pallets

    4. Not thinking 1 step ahead of a survivor

    5. Listening to music

I see many players making these mistakes, especially killers who don't use their perks and power properly.

By the way, I will make a survivor edition tomorrow, so check my Youtube channel :)

    What do you think?

you forgot 6: playing on an unoptimised console like ps4

If Dead hard, decisive, and BT were removed from the game, joe blow and his friends’ death rates would be nearly identical. The reality is that most people are bad at the game, which is why kill rates are so high. Only the best players exploit these perks and make them broken. Balancing around top level play works in every game that I have ever played.

    So just to clarify:

The kill rates are high because survivors kill themselves on first hook like 30% of the games, and thats gg 3/4k. Its not that many survivors are bad, its many players are super bad.

I play 80% killer and win 90% of my matches, exceptions being 5% when ps4 frame drops taking away hits in crutial moments and 5% when I just get outplayed.

But I also play survivor, and so many killers are just bad too.

Why do I lose more survivor matches then killer matches? Because people kill themselves.

Without games counted where people suicide in the first 2 minutes, the kill rates would be far lower.

I also agree the game should be balanced around the top players, not tournament squads, but like the top 3% and not the middle.

This would just lead to better matchmaking because people wouldnt just be rank 1 after 10 hours of playing regardless the skill.

  • Im solo only too, because none of my friends play DBD anymore.

And I also never run DS.

In my opinion its reasonable to use it in high ranks (20-10) because killers dont know the game and are more likely to tunnel and camp.

And its reasonable to use it in an SWF agressively.

Other the that ( red ranks solo) you just dont need it.

I get rarely camped and if I get tunneled BT is enough to run the killer for such a long time it isnt worth for him to tunnel.

You know who needs DS in red ranks? The weak link. The person who does not know how to run away and just does gens quickly. The person the killer SHOULD go after because its the right choice.

Why get looped by a good survivor if the gen jockey goes down in 10 seconds? If hes out of the way the game gets far easier.

So im a guy that wont go down in 10 seconds and therefore I didnt need DS. I focus on winning chases and not on getting tunneled.

And its totally doable exept you go against a Great nurse or spirit.

Sure I have a game where the killer tunnels me out of the game kinda early, but thats on me getting outplayed.

This change could move many survivors back to green ranks where they belong.

  • @indieeden7 said:

I get that this is a scummy play but you really can't expect them to remove it.

What if someone DCs at the start of the match? Then 3 people have to fix 5 gens and the hatch won't even open for the last survivor.

What if a person's game legitimately crashes? Then the last survivor gets punished for something that couldn't be helped.

And If you have that bad luck when dbd just crashes as two survivors find hatch... thats bad luck, end of story.

How is not fixing things always considered better if the other side would be people abusing mechanics?

Oh come on, they could at least make it that after a DC the hatch takes some time to open.

With fixing I dont mean, removing hatch.

I just want it to be fair.

In this case the killer gets 2 less kills.

But I guess "it COULD be unfair for the survivors" justifies it not to be fixed at all XD

we once had a blight bouncing around between a pair gens so close they were within eyesight of one another, the last other guy alive and I spent about ten minutes trying to work on them but kept being chased off until we started each hoping the other would get caught (I assume it was the same with him when we bumped into each other creeping around the map on the side opposite the gens lmao) and the blight finally opened the door and let us out. he said he got bored and laughed about it, and understood the situation.

He probably wasn't upset because we spent a good long time trying to get the last gen but could not make more progress than was lost because of the killer power and proximity of the gens. it couldn't be done without a sacrifice neither of us was willing to make though I did try to lure the killer away from the gens but he was smart enough to not chase me out into the map and immediately went back to bouncing between the gens. basically that we tried, but, it came to a point where it just wasn't possible and you can't expect somebody to walk out in the open, stand there and just let you kill them.

Once in a while you'll find yourself in a situation like that as either a survivor or a killer. If it wasn't that sort of situation with your guys though then yeah they were probably figuring their teammates were bad and each was hoping to get the hatch and it just didn't work out that way that time for them is all. In the sort of situation You had, it would probably have been one of those teams where I'd have already decided once it came time I wouldn't struggle on the hook based on what theyw ere and weren't doing in the game. It sounds as if they weren't doing much the whole entire game. I wouldn't be surprised if 3 of them were all hoping for the hatch before the only one doing generators even finished the first one for them.

Okay in your example the killer was the one making progression impossible, however you could have gotten out by just letting him get you.

I couldnt do this. I could not find them on a big dark map with a killer who has the most standard mobillity and no tracking tools except some bottles.

They could have played 2 other games in this time but they just hid.

    NOTE:

Its was all red ranks, just to be clear, no "new player scared of the spooky killer"

juts selfish survivors who held the game hostage. And this shouldnt happen imo. there should be a mechanic that prevents this situatin.

Even if hatch opened and one guy gets it the other one just dies instantly because the entity isnt fine with it.

Regardless of wether or not there was a 3 gen or not, letting the game carry on for 20 minutes doing nothing to even attempt to progress is pretty much holding a match hostage. The killer can't exactly wave a magic wand and make them appear, and if they are constantly creeping around the map, it's incredibly difficult to even spot them unless they somehow mess up. Survivors should just learn to take a bullet and just risk it instead of constantly hiding the entire match. If you're going to lose, you're going to lose. No need to waste the killers time because of it.

Well yes, thats what I thought, but I want advice on what to do then^^

Its not a rare occurance this happens too, sure its not 20 minutes most of the time, but many survivors will wait hours to get hatch.

I dont want to DC because if I get a few games in a row where this happens I get punished + I literally won the match already.

I dont want to AFK too because why even play then?

trying to not get killed if it was a 3 gen situation isn't "holding the game hostage" (not saying this one was but in those I would do the same thing) it's waiting for the other guy to be stupid or unlucky rather than being stupid yourself, so that you can be the one that gets the hatch.

there were 6 gens on the map ( 4 left to be completed) they simply waited for he other one to die and didnt do anything then hide for 20 minutes.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1919622#Comment_1919622

The changes are nice, they’re balanced, but you’re not getting any use out of DS if the killer decides to immediately go after you and manages to down you because he’ll just wait until your timer goes away. let’s see, interact with something goes away, downed by killer after unhook, slugged for 60 seconds with no use out of DS. The best perks to counter this would be Tenacity or Unbreakable but NOT EVERYONE wants to use those perks in conjunction with Decisive Strike.

in that case he will waste 60 seconds if he just waits it out. Usually you get saved with BT anyways, so it would need 2 hits + waiting time. Its just not worth it. In this case It would be better to just eat the DS. But most times you will get away and even if you get slugged the killer will go search someone else and youll get picked up by a teammate.

But youre right, you dont have a perk anymore that just lets you do gens for free.

But it is nowhere near useless.

  • @Mileena_Kahn said:

The main reason for that is because even if you do not interact with an objective for the timer to reset, the killer can immediately chase you off hook and then just slug you and set their 1 minute timer until it goes off. Object needed to be changed but it’s completely gutted along with DS. I’m not trying to prove a point or anything just saying it’s basically useless kind of like how undying got gutted too. If long time survivor mains are not happy about the changes they’ll either:

A.) Run Unbreakable/DS every match which means a high spike in Unbreakable

    B.) Leave the game

Hopefully the Devs will fix something about being slugged immediately after the hook with DS up not needing Unbreakable for it, because it’s in the killer’s favor if they decide to be an A**hole and just slug you after hook immediately or not. We’ll see what happens in the future.

The killer could slug you before, thats not new. Why do you think DS/unbrakable was ran by every second survivor?

    What is DS for now?

Oh no i have been hooked.

    scenario a:

Oh no my Teammate unhooks me without BT right next to the killer and he downs me instantly, well nice, I have DS.

    scenario b:

Oh no the killer wants me dead and Always goes for me, well nice I can now punish him with a stun.

    What got removed?

    scenario c:

Hey killer, you cant hook me again now, i can sit on this gen for 60 seconds and you cant pick me up because I will stun you and you cant slug me either because I have unbreakable, haha! Oh and so you know, its a 50/50 for every other survivor to have the 60 seconds immunity too, so just eat 4 5 second stuns at the start of the game! And if someone does not have DS you need to let him go, it would be unfair if you would hook them in this case!

If you ask me its really nice that scenario c gets removed.

What kind of people would not want this scenario to be gone? i wonder...

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

I have not seen a single person complaining about it.

Hell I've seen more people complaining about people being upset then actual people being upset.

Kinda puts killers to shame with how they act when a meta perk of them gets changed

go on DBDs twitter page and look at the comments below the Q&A. There you will change your mind :)

  • Phew.

I like the Idea of survivors being able to do something else then Gens, but I dont like this Idea.

    1. breakable walls were a poorly designed implementation (Imo) so why even build on it further?
    2. Its just not worth it. 10% - movement speed just to rebuild a wall? thats just so bad, nobody would ever do this.
    3. Its not worth it, games go by like 5-10 minutes, this would take so long for like nothing. why rebuild a wall if you could do a gen?

Nice Idea, but not for the current state of the game.

  • I Have like 1500 hours and every break I take is longer. Only get in for a few weeks if I dont have any cool game in reach.

I think Dbd will be there for a long time, but the new players will become less and less and someday there will be a very small core community with no new faces. It just develops way to slow and the community is ignored for the most part.

But it will die instantly if there comes a competitor thats just halfway decent.

  • There was a technique (nicer word to exploit) on one of the auto haven maps where you can jump over a pallet by the crane. ( a bit like the farm traktor jumps)

Otzdarva showcased this on his streams, but I usually dont do exploits.

However this Adam was pre dropping a pallet and teabagging me from there on. So I used the jump off the crane to get him.

He DCd and wrote me some horrible stuff on psn. I reported him for that and I couldnt find his profile later anymore after I recieved the Psn message that they took action.

I have the clip of the situation on my twitter, but im not sure if i am allowed to post it here. Since im already jailed I wont do it for sure, maybe If somebody wants to see you could dm me, its a really funny clip^^

But I think his profile was deleted, so that kinda made him quit. but maybe he just blocked me XD

  • Its theoretically a really good perk for a low rank SWF.

Often you get facecamped first hook until you die so a swf could just focus on gens longer and make sure the killer only gets one kill.

As before said its used in tournaments as well because tunneling and camping are sometimes the best strats for a killer, yes even in tournaments.

But the average playerbase does not benefit from it and heres why.

    1. You need people to activate it propperly. Chances are low randoms will see that you have the perk and play accordingly, so you need a kinda coordinated SWF to make it work propperly.
    2. Killers facecamp less in red ranks, sure theres some camping here and there, but everybody runs BT either way and you can just unhook with bt and then trade 2 DS.
    3. The perk is locked behind steve, who need to be paied for.

So its a perk that could help new players, but its locked behind a paywall. Like zanshin and kates perk that lets you see vaults its just placed wrong.

If it was a perk you could get on everyone from the start of the game it would be better.

But right now its just too nieche.

Hope i could help a bit

  • Well you dont counter oni by winning chases, you split up and if he uses his power everyone should hide so that he can get only one person with his power.

I played oni a bunch too.

The weakness is his early game and not being able to down multiple survivors with your power at once.

Structures are not there to counter an oni.

But survivors are so used to loop killers that finding the right time for stealth doesnt come to mind.

  • But thanks for all the explanations! :)

I really doubt you'd get a warning for calling someone entitled

"dude chill out, your just an entitled survivor main"

Then the person responded something like im gonna report you

    I asked "for what"

    answer "calling me entitled"

I wouldnt make a thread about a word if it didnt make me wonder

  • Its both the same, it both sucks, it both should have more counters.

But because we have many "mains" that only play one role, its unfair for them.

Killer mains will cry about Gens being fast and other things

    survivor mains cry about tunneling.

Why do people cry over games? because they have had an unfun experience.

Problem is that people dont see the other side.

If you see the other side thats the conclusion:

This game is not balanced. on both sides.

And judging by the past it wont be ever

I think it's more complex than that because you could have a 3 stack of useless players who play worse than a solid solo queue team.

Or you could have a 2 stack of really good players who can basically win a game on their own.

Finally the killer skill can vary dramatically (e.g. you get streamers who seem to be able to walk through any swf other than the absolute top teams)

yeah, but im talking about avverage potential not extreme cases.
