I think a threestack is a lot more common and stronger than the 2 two stack. They spread information to 75% of the team.

yeah, i just think the random person has the potential to throw the game more then 2 2stacks. but yes it is close between these two constallations at least.

  • im all in for camping penalties.

too bad survivors would just abuse them so theres no way you could ever do it.

  • But both of them have downsides:

Corrupt is really bad if you want to run a hex build, because if a survivor is spawning next to a blocked gen they will cleanse totems of course.

Also it runs out eventually and some people could pull of some decent hiding. It has the possibillity to fail.

    Tinkerer just gives information always.

Monitor makes OoO stronger, but its a great perk in many situations, but it is not great on every killer.

Tinkerer is nice on everyone imo.

So Overall i think its the best^^

You can have your opinion of course! just want to express why i think its the best perk on average :)

  • 5% Haste permanently XD

This Idea is so bad it overcomes things like "Make a perk that allowes to kill the killer"

Obviously OP has no Idea how broken this would be.

Its not even about the huge advantage in chases.

The biggest thing with 5%extra speed is looping.

Survivors have a smaller hitbox then killers, so while killers technically being faster then survivors, loops shorten the gap of speed if they are ran tight by survivors.

I Think 5% permanently would make many loops infitine and unmindgamable for killers.

Imagine a Myers in tier 1 against 4 people with this perk.

He could be looped around a Tree without any chance of stalking or hitting any survivor.

But this Idea is sooo bad, it might get into the game. Wouldnt be the first time the Devs put things into the game that are way too strong

  • @Kirkylad said:

i understand going against a SWF on comms can be difficult at times but it's not the devs fault because they have no way of stopping anyone from using a third party system to talk in game.

Well they created SWF. Im sure they knew that people would use Discord or something else to communicate with each other^^

Not that I dislike the idea of playing with friends. But the Devs are responsible for the flaws this system brings.

Cant jump on the "Its not the Devs fault" train here.

  • Theres only ONE time you can accuse a killer fo playing scummy.

If theres 5 gens up, you have been first one hooked and he facecamps you all the way to death.

Every other scenario where a killer camps/tunnels is because he thinks he has to do it to win.

People who blame the killer for anything dont understand the mindset of a killer. You have do make decisions to win.

You get called out by survivors for every thing they come up with.

I once got called out for tunneling a guy after I hooked two other survivors and he didnt even had DS.

But he said if he HAD DS i would have been Hit by it and therefore i was surely tunneling.

    People.are.just.dumb.

in general, not survivor or killers specificly.

  • The most survivor sided map is Haddonfield. here are many really bad ones, but haddonfield is just the worst.

Fences that are miles long and can be looped around for ever.

Roofs where survivors just look down on the killer who is not able to do anything against it.

    House of Pain

    Even some bushes for claudettes

If youre playing Victor you cant vault windows so survivors on roofs are untouchable.

it is just designed so badly that no other map can be compared to it.

  • Well that thread escalated... And no one actually answeres my question properly XD

Just another Thread of Ds is Fair/unfair.

Seems like people just want to fight on the forums ^^

However I must say that I dont see the fair side of DS.

It would be fair if it only prevented tunneling. It just does too much for one perk. But How do i close this thread? it leads to nothing anyways

  • @NotACompPlayer said:

getting good cant be made a perk for you to equip sadly.

I dont need a perk to be good. I already am ;)

Just because I want to balance the game a bit more doesnt mean im trash.

These squads exist and theres no real counterplay except to play flawless.

    Not every discussion is selfish.

I can deal with these squads but others cant because they have less hours or whatever.

But how does finishing a gen with DS make it swf?

Sure there are some solos, but most games where this is put to an absurd amount are SWF games.

    It doesnt matter anyway.

Newsflash, Kindred counters BBQ if you are so worried about it, along with lockers and other things that don't take up perk slots but you know NERRRRFFFFF rofl. I swear people who cry out over BBQ play the game like 30 min a week.

I the game is all the survivors vs the killerwhy is it the killer fault that they went for an unsafe unhook. Why do they need to be tunned for punishing survivors for playing badly.

well its not the fault of the person being farmed by a teammate. Farming like this should be a risk for the unhooker but it isnt at the moment.

  • Monstrous shrine. I went again a super fast squad that left teammates hanging on hook until last second.

A turning point was when i got a basement hook insecond phase and they misjudged the time they had. They finished a gen right above the basement but didnt make the rescue in time and that lost them the game.

  • The first clip is busted everybody that says something diferent is heavily biased.

the second clip is tunneling in my eyes.

I think DS should be like 30 seconds but if you get slugged in that time it should add 40/50/60 seconds.

Its not fun to get farmed without BT just to be slugged for a minute. Its not the laruies fault in the second clip.

Its the teammates fault + you tunneled her.

This is DS how its supposed to work.

  • DBD is agreat idea but balanced by the wrong people. And that caused a toxic community.

  • @Kirkylad said:

I think there should always be an obsession in a game no matter what perks are brought by either side. There is a big difference in my survivor matches when there isn't one and it usually involves the match being much less enjoyable especially when you are playing solo. I understand some survivors may abuse ds but the majority just bring it to avoid having their matches cut short and feeling powerless to do anything about it if the killer decides to hard tunnel them. Also in all honesty I don't use ds every match but when I do it's the only perk I ever bring that I'm more than happy to never have to use in a match.

Well I dont think thats true. I mean In my world a 45+ second DS after the killer hooked somebody else is too strong. But I have never met a survivor that didnt use it even with only one second left on it.

I know the devs just made it 60 seconds, but either every survivor abuses it in some way or no survivor does. The perk is just designed in a way it should be abusable. Its just complicated...

I mean how can you call something abusable if its used the way like its programmed to be?^^'

I thought the post was funny and even reminded me that a friend of mine, who started playing with me back in may/june (I don't remember when Silent Hill Chapter was published) dropped this game after 2 weeks after heavy camping and tunneling.

I have to say that I see many killers achieving red ranks purely by facecamping and tunneling, because the survivors not always know how to pressure the killer back. And noed is there to help them get some kills to hardly get that bip to lean them forward. Also there's ruin + undying now giving them more credit than I think they should have, but that will go soon.

As killer, I watched some videos before trying and even because facecamping got one of my best friends out of DBD, I knew that wasn't fun and didn't want to do that (even though I did it sometimes at EGC after being a rank 16 matched against red ranks because whatever, but I stopped that because it's not the players fault, it's poor matchmaking, so whatever).

As survivor, I don't feel like I belong in any of these categories you listed. I never came to the forums to be competitive. I've watched videos and read stuff to improve my gameplays and usually record them to learn, but not because I want to become a rank 1 or anything. I just want to make the most out of my game, lasting more than 1 minute, especially since I bring "meme perks" usually. But I don't really give killers a great challenge as of now (I think, at least). I have a long road before getting remotely good and may even give up this game before achieving it.

Well you are right of course, it would have been a much longer post if i wanted to be detailed.

So by reading your comment you kinda fit into the "on the way to 7%" section but its just a joke post with some truth behind it.

I dont actually know if theres many facecamping killers in the mid ranks because im a killer main and when I started to play survivor i rushed through the ranks in like 3 days of playing. I just had the experience of a killer for my survivor gameplay.

But i guess many of the upcomming 90%ers are capable of losing to a facecamping killer. Ranks dont mean anything anyways, but maybe its not always 20-15 but more like 20-5. who knows?^^

  • I use it but I think its broken. Dont know the numbers, but every time im with someone on a gen i feel bad for the killer. It just goes so fast

"During the dash, you avoid damage."

Don't need to bug it just trying to use it the way it's stated on the perk description

well thats nice, but this way makes it the weakest exhaustion perk of the game because it is bugged and you will experience the exact same thing your post is about again.

So to answer your question: it happens very often if you use it in the intended way.

  • @Klakky said:

Used dead hard and still got hit during the use of it, got exhausted and few seconds after I'm downed exhausted disappears... Like I never used dead hard.

45 ping, this happens way too often not to be a problem

How often does it happen to others?

happens often, but you tried to use it wrong anyways... well actually you tried to use it right, but thats the way the perk isnt strong. So you didnt abuse it right would be the right term :)

  • I have the feeling that many people dont know what is meant by DH for distance. because if everybody was aware of it you would all consider it at least extremely strong.

The dumb thing is: The way DH should be used is broken because you will often end exhausted on the ground... So it has to be used the way its uncounterable.

But again thats on the devs and not the survivors that abuse it.

    Fact is:

    • Survivors who know how to abuse it and play it kinda smart will always be able to use it as an extra healing state on a loop.
    • Dead hard hard counters Nurse without using it for distance.
    • Dead hard is easy to use to dodge key abillities like Traps and shocks. In the case of trapper who trapped a door or something the perk makes the killers power turn against him.

And all that by just pressing a button.

Imagine a Perk for the killer that lets him press a button every 40 seconds where he can look at a pallet and just block it while chasing a survivor. Thats what dead hard does in a nutshell.

Easy usable. But because 90% of the playerbase is really bad... and i mean REALLY bad. Many people dont see issues in this game.

    And to be clear:

The issues are on both sides, not just killer, not just survivor. there may be more issues for one side. But in the end all you need to know is:

The Devs could change it, its on them if they dont. No killers to blame, no survivors to blame. Just. The. Devs.

  • I thougth the bushes were intended to be super hard to see someone in^^ I mean this map has so many unafe loops that i thought stealth was the maps benefit.

  • Thx guys :) I guess ill stay away from DBD for another couple of month. I play sweaty but fair and before I took a break it was hella unfun some times because of silent slugs and toxic people.

This freaks me out the most atm:

sometimes you cant hook a survivor?

Dude thats a game changer especially vs good survivors.

If you ate a DS you could lose the game the last time i played and not being able to hook is like the same.

Thx for your honesty^^ Have fun and stay save!

  • Overwatch on Ps4: my screen is covered in all colours of the rainbow while in a Teamfight and I dont have frame drops.

DBD on Ps4: Loading screen has lags XD

  • They are a console Problem. So yes they should be fixed (would be fixed if aim dressing could be turned off) but never will be fixed because they dont affect PC players in 99% of the cases.

On console with low framerate and lags whenever something happens survivors can manipulate their movement in a way a swing by the killer is messed up by aim dressing.

I play on console and have got hits taken away by this system. But I also spun killers often with this crap. Its not skill, its also no exploit. Its just bad programming like many "techs" we have in this game.

Of course youll see more survivors trying to 360 you since cossplay is there, but just because it doesnt affect PC killers its still an issue for console killers.

@RayrafLPP Are you asking about the Devs streaming on consoles?

Or are you asking if anyone streams in console?

Im asking if any of the devs streams on console. Because I as a console player dont feel represented by dev streams I watch, however i dont know if theres actually a dev streaming on console, thats why im asking.

If there was Dev on console I dont think the console experience wouldnt be that bad.

  • they just should deactivate lerys on console tbh, other maps are bad too but lerys? unplayable vs decent survivors.

  • Its not even a pure buff, its a rework for DS being a healhty perk for the game.

You can tweak it for EGC not to work or something like this.

However My intention is to NERF its abusable aspect but BUFF it in other sections so people dont just get a tool taken away.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Just realize you just said that you don't tunnel but are instead made a tunneler lmao. How are you a tunneler without tunneling?

Also wanted to add that DS is not an anti-tunnel perk by design so don't get that stick up in there. That's not to say I'm against making it an anti-tunnel perk, but it is to say complaining about it being used outside of tunneling scenarios is not a valid line of complaint. If you think DS is too powerful, explain how it greatly surpasses the power of other survivor perks that are "meta" then we'll talk, petty complaints based on opinions are a tired subject tbh.

You wanted to add that its an anti tunnel perk... youre trolling? Or did you just not read? ######### these people here

You've basically made it so any Survivor who makes it to the endgame and isn't on death hook is almost guaranteed an escape.

well openign an exit gate is an action isnt it?

  • No tunneling, nothing more. If theres THE ONE perk against tunneling, i dont have a problem with that

  • Well both combined would make tunneling even weaker.

So survivors could run both of these perks until no tunneling is existent anymore and then we would have more perk slots for fun perks :)

I just dont wanna get stunned anymore by suicidal survivors who have 10 seconds left on DS after healing, destroying my ruin and doing half a gen

  • @SleepyWillo said:

when you say healing do you mean healing yourself or others? or both?

dude i dont care anymore, just heal up for free XD I just dont want to get stunned after pulling someone off a gen.

no idea, but tbh if you CAN heal yourself you are not getting tunneled anymore dont you?

If you heal and get tunneled you should have watched out... But If thats what survivors want, just heal for free

But healing ohers should deactivate it for sure

  • @Customapple0 said:

Probably because DS is fine? Not all players “abuse” it you know.

Some of us just want some breathing room against tunnelling.

so you wouldnt be affected if they made it unabusable...

How is something thats abusable fine? XD

  • @behave_pt said:

First I have no idea how this term came to be and why it only pertains to 2 perks. Also is it really a build if it is only half of your available perk slots? I must ask, if you don’t like these perks then what should I use in replace of them? What else do survivors have that can increase their chances of survival to the extent of ds and unbreakable? Oh right I can use borrowed time and adrenaline instead but I guess killers don’t like those perks either. Every strong survivor perk which is like only 6 killers complain about. You also must realize that as a rank 1 survivor you are only hurting yourself by not using these perks even though you may be able to escape without using the “meta” perks. Each of these perks in the situations they bail you out of can be the sole reason you survived. Escaping the trial is worth 5000 points, that is the most points rewarded for any action between both roles. I would love to try some random builds, but I must assume that the killer will not give me the luxury to do so. You think camaraderie will help me against being slugged? Do you think dark sense will prevent me from getting tunneled? Will Better Together help my teammate who is getting camped or tunneled? Meanwhile we just recently had some killer perks buffed I dont know why. Killers already had a better selection to choose from. The Devs need to buff these survivor perks to make them worthy of at least trying out.

I also had the idea of combining select perks as like a devotion reward. So, the way it works is one you reach a new level of devotion you get a menu to select 2 perks to combine. The available combinaitons are limited and exhaustion perks are excluded. Some examples are combining botany knowledge and self-care, Iron Will and Calm Spirit, Dance with Me and Quick & Quiet or Plunder’s Instinct and Ace in the Hole. It works in the devs favour assuming they plan on releasing new chapters every 3 months as they can make mediocre or average perks with the purpose of allowing you to combine them through playing. These perks can also have their own rarity like legendary. It also removes an extra perk slot and the frustration of getting these separate sub-par perks in the bloodweb forcing you to obtain them until they reached tier 3. In order to do this with teachables you would have to have them unlocked for all survivors. Even though I created this Idea around survivor perks killers can do the same too although with less options for obvious reasons. To be honest I always wanted Pop Goes the Wesel and Overcharge to be one perk, I’m not exactly sure how this will work for perks from licensed characters, but I hope it could one day be implemented.

honestly rank 1 as survivor is super easy with some game knowledge... You can run it of course, no one has to play by any rules, but its just not true that they are needed.

Im Rank 1 survivor with a max of 80 hours on survivor. I only play survivor when I do challenges and I still win the majority of my games without DS.

    My favorite Build:

    Dance With me

    Lightweight

    Lithe

    Quick and Quiet

You can run most killers for ages without any perks involved

I really dont get why people think meta perks are needed.

Guess its because DBD is a casual game and people refuse to get good (both sides tbh)

  • a key if I want to play a special killer and dont have a mori.

I never play with moris, but keys are the equivalent for me and I want both to be changed...

But as a killer main I have some Moris to deal with keys so.

also I never play lobbies with 2 or more keys

  • Survivors need to have a higher skill ceiling. Im no survivor main and i can run 90% of killers in my matches with ease for 3 gens. Its just to easy for the time i put into survivor. Killer on the other hand need super focus.

You are correct, and working gens with someone else is a bit of a good news/bad news situation. It does go quicker than doing it by yourself. However, 2 people working on 2 separate generators is quicker than 2 people working on them together because of the slow down for teamwork. Don't get me wrong. Not making the argument that should even change. Just noting that while you get extra points for teamwork it's partnered with a slowdown that makes it less efficient than working on 2 separate gens alone.

well yeah, thats what my complaint is about^^

  • this would be different if it was a better idea to do gens with other survivors.

But sadly we have the "everyone is 80s alone on a gen" meta.

You dont have an m1 simulator if you do it with someone else, teamwork feels better imo.

But yeah, playing for the objective isnt as fun and grants less points.

Eat the ds, 5 x 4 = 20 seconds instead of 480s. You are welcome.

sure because after eating a DS you just pick the survivor back up and hook them :)

  • @Aneurysm said:

The current argument for DS being fine is that it isn't an anti-tunnelling perk, so it's okay if killers that weren't tunnelling get hit with it

    but also

that DS can be avoided entirely by not tunnelling. Also that you should just slug them as if they don't often have unbreakable as well.

Oh yes i love this argument ^^

    Slug them: they have unbreakable

Leave them: they have 60 seconds of gen progression.

If you assume everybody has DS heres some math:

    5 gens = 400 seconds of work.

    4 survivors

every survivor has 2 times 60 seconds of DS = 120 seconds

4 survivors have 480s of DS time.

Yeah just leave them. If you leave every unhooked person for 60s untouched they have enought time to repeair all gens and open both exit gates. And thats just the DS time.

I honestly dont think people who use "dont chase a DS for 60 seconds and youre good" as an argument never played killer in red ranks.

  • @APoipleTurtle said:

So here's the thing, while an efficiency penalty is applied when more than one survivor is on a gen, 2+ survivors working on one will still finish it significantly faster. From start to finish:

    • 1 Survivor can finish a gen in ~80 seconds
    • 2 Survivors can finish a gen in ~47 seconds (~41 seconds with Prove Thyself)
    • 3 Survivors can finish a gen in ~38 seconds (~29 seconds with Prove Thyself)
    • 4 Survivors can finish a gen in ~36 seconds (~25 seconds with Prove Thyself)

-It's basically only a major waste in time when all 4 survivors repair a gen cooperatively, as they save almost no additional time compared to the work of 3.

But the problem isn't the time-saving efficiency. It's the objective-completion efficiency. If all four survivors spawn separated and near gens (immediately beginning work on them), then the time killer needs to find, chase, down, and hook a survivor can very VERY easily result in 2-3 gens getting completed. Against a team of average-skilled survivors, most killers can expect to lose 1-2 gens in exchange for their first hook. This isn't Gen-Rushing, just survivors doing the only priority interaction they have at the start of a match.

Because of this, the only part of your suggested change which would truly have an impact would be bumping gen times up to 100 seconds (as they are already drastically faster when repaired cooperatively). It might work, but also carries the risk of making both PGtW and 3-Gen setups even stronger. While there are only a handful of severely killer-biased maps (mainly Shelter Woods and Underground Complex), they would need to be reworked (among other unbalanced maps) so that the increased gen times don't make them virtually unbeatable for survivors. But the community has asked for a gen-time change like this before, so we can only hope that it may one day be tested.

Another consideration to help with early game pressure problems would be changing how survivors spawn in. The Shroud of Binding's functionality should be made a base mechanic. All 4 survivors would ALWAYS initially spawn together and choose how/when to split up from there. Survivors spawning spread out is very bad for the killer and a regular contributor to them losing 40-60% of their objective within the first couple minutes of a Trial.

And a third idea would be to increase the pressure killer applies when hooking a survivor. For every survivor currently on a hook, all remaining survivors should suffer a 20-25% repair penalty. This penalty is lessened/removed when a survivor is unhooked, but the rescued survivor would continue to suffer this penalty for 60 seconds. As it is, killer currently doesn't really gain a big benefit from hooking a survivor until they sacrifice somebody. This would ideally give greater value to hooks earned earlier in a match (and help de-incentivize tunneling).

your third Idea would make camping meta even in red ranks thou... And all of them spawnign together would just be one gen down for killers like clown because of lack of mobility.

Corrupt intervention would be necissary on every killer without good mobility

  • I kill them. If im ghost face i teabag, if I play as any other killer I just move on. Sometimes when im in the mood i let them bleed for a few minutes before hooking the last.

If i sense a 4 stack i do this more often because im wasting not one persons time but 4 at once :)

  • I can confirm that it can go this way.

Ps4 is a super strange world for DBD.

    But heres the thing:

    Times.

When I took a break from taking a break on DBD I won like 50 games in a row with 4ks. I had a weekend off just for playing DBD. It was super easy and I got rank 1 survivors every match, but they just were super bad.

Then I could only play in the evening/night and voila:

Only SWF. usually 4 man at PS4 nighttime.

Games went from enjoyable 10 minutes to stressfull 5 minutes.

You win by slugging 3 of them and then kinda farm hooks when they lost already. I swear If there were 100 Ranks I would say during the day the best survivors you get are rank 50 max

but in the nighttime they are at least rank 50.

    Its just nother world.

I dont want to say youre no good killer, but im sure you arent as great as your matches go, the BAMFs are just not online when you are.

  • @gatsby said:

The majority of mid-low rank Survivors rely on stealth and perks like Sprint Burst, Decisive, Urban Evasion, Spine Chill and/or Self-Care. They DO NOT want the Killer to chase them and are willing to waste tons of their time avoiding them. Its just true. I can usually tell within the first two minutes what ranks people are just based on their playstyle. Survivors that aren't objective focused with their time management aren't very good and unfortunately that's A LOT of people.

It shouldn't matter a ton if the Killer will chase you. Avoiding gens, spending tons of time trying to heal and letting people hit struggle phase is more detrimental than ANYTHING the Killer could do to you. It also just builds bad habits that are hard to break

you can tell what ranks they are? im sure thats a lie.

I had people who played like a rank 20 but they were rank 1. Rank has nothing to say in this game

  • Actually the kill rates would rise quite a bit if they would finally fix this #########. Its so common atm its unbelievable.

  • Also Whispers works always, discordance will never come in place against good survivors bc of split genning

1 2 3 4 … 8
