  • At the moment: Boil Over, Blood Pact, Flip Flop and Desperate Measures... that's when I play... been off for some days now

  • I played for one day on my ps4 and that was enough for me to take another break at the game. I guess nobody picking Trickster is enough data that he is horrible and nobody wants to play as him rn.

  • I don't know. I gave a chance to this killer to see if they solved any of his issues. I love his concept, his skins, his lore. But he's unplayable. Now I'm sure not to buy anything else. So if they wanted money, they won't have a single cent anymore until proven they can make what I've already bought worth it. I think they're going the wrong way if it's just money

  • I have about 1,7 million saved. I stopped doing challenges and dailies since last week when the release was postponed (I actually don't play the game for a week and a half now). I'm not sure if I'm that hyped for the release anymore too, but let's see how it goes.

  • I don't really care about what they might say in chat.

Usually they don't really say anything and at most is a gg hahaha. At least that's what I notice when I play on pc, anyway.

  • On ps4 I'm rank 11 as survivor and rank 10 as killer. On steam I'm rank 17 as survivor and rank 19 as killer.

But I avoid ranking up on purpose, so usually I stay at purple ranks, at most. It's just that this month I didn't feel like playing dbd as survivor, so I didn't go past rank 11 yet. And as killer, I never play enough to get above purple. Rank 8 is the highest I've been.

  • I do have a friend that gets tilted out of nothing (I'd say I have 2 friends, but this other girl is not my friend, I just know her from other friends and rarely play with her).

I don't usually say much. Sometimes I give advices like "when this happens, try to do this and that... and it's just a game". But by then he just leaves to play something else and we may do the same thing, since the goal is to have fun together. He's very good at looping, but lacks a bit of sense sometimes in other areas. And he gets frustrated quite easily when he wants to show something and fail (I guess that's the problem).

Since your friend is new, maybe the game is not really for him. I don't think you should stick around if all you do is stress out from the game: that's unhealthy.

  • Yeah, I've seen a message in post chat like that last time I played on steam and I was actually in a duo, but... omg, the person don't know when to drop a chase, when to slug or be just a little bit patient and less greedy on the hits, barely do mindgames, but it's all swf.

Sometimes it feels like paranoia hahahaha

As a Steam player I find going off of people's playtime much more reliable. I have around 1,200 hours and if I get teammates who only have like 100 - 300 hours I will dodge. No other game will match a player that has 1,200 hours with other players who have ~100.

Hmmmm I guess I have about 60 hours on steam, but I have about a 1k hours on ps4. I'm still not good, but I'm not horrible. I think this method is not really reliable and, since you are on steam, you can always talk to your teammates prior to the match.

Also, I know many people with 1,5k+ hours that don't know how to avoid a basic 3 gen situation or how to counter basic killer strategies.

  • I wish it exposed survivor for some seconds when they take an item, besides the notification. It would be fun and a true defender of items.

  • I don't know... if you know to position yourself to get the necessary distance with dead hard and know your pathing, I don't think it's brainless. I've seen so many dead hards at nothing, without any plan, that just work to prevent an early hit and can be easily baited out. I guess that's most of the cases. It's a bigger nuisance when the survivors know what they're doing, what can be also done with good positioning with the other exhaustion perks.

I agree that invicibility through traps feels too much, especially considering how Trapper already feels lacking in power.

And yes it doesn't work most times hahahahahahahahahahahahaha sorry, I had to say it. That's why I don't even use it. I'm more annoyed on how survivors act cocky towards you because they have it (eye roll) than because of the perk itself.

  • I think many people don't really know how to play against Plague. She is situational, but you can force these situations to your favor if you know what you're doing and the survivor are not playing super safe. She is really hurt by servers, when it comes to vomiting and on console it's even harder to land those hits.

I guess they were also very angry you used Blood Echo. Survivors tend to get mad when exhausted (I mean... I understand getting mad over an add on negating a perk, but not another perk that has its counters.

I love Plague, hopefully one day I'll get the grasp of her power and maybe she gets a slight buff to make the puke more consistent.

  • I don't really mind delays, if it's for a refined product in the end. But, oh boy, I'm always annoyed on how Behaviour does everything in the dark. I'm still waiting for news on Open Handed...

  • Even if he's weak, I'm looking forward to try Trickster... and I want his perks, so counting my bloodpoints, archive challenges and dailies, I have about 1,5 million saved for spending on him. Even if it's just for the perks.

  • I'm also bored on survivor side. But I'm unfortunately more frustrated about teammates than anything.

Also, I'm playing exclusively Plague lately, since... I don't know why, but now everybody now seem to be cleansing often, giving me power for days. So it's being fun... and it's a different challenge for the survivors. Sometimes they dominate me, especially when they don't cleanse and my fountains are in Narnia, but sometimes I can make pressure for days.

  • I usually enjoy killer more, but it depends. Good survivors always teach me things here and there about good positioning, loops and stuff. But I usually watch killer more often than survivor, as I can learn more about powers and techniques of killers I don't play.

  • Hauhauhauahua I don't know if I hate more this or the Crotus Prenn offering, especially when it spawns those nasty infinites in the middle.

  • My advice is try to play the game when the killer queues are not instant. I'm lately playing killer on weekend, about from late morning to afternoon. I usually get matched with people close to my skill level. There may be one or 2 red ranks admist, but no rank 1 super survivor.

I've been able to play Plague and perform quite well with her on green ranks. And lose some, win others, but it doesn't feel frustrating (well, the puke sometimes do, but that's on her haha).

  • I won't say I'll never consider playing, but - as a console player that has no aim whatsoever - it's very unlikely I'll go for Deathslinger or Huntress. I also think Oni is veeeery frustrating.

I think Billy was easier to use before the changes, but I kind of like him.

I hate Freddy, so I avoid playing with him and even feel guilty when I do his dailies because he feels to unfair to go against. And if I play Spirit I tend to use both of her passive phasing add ons and meme around as much as I can.

  • I also have to add that while I like using Camaraderie, standing there smashing the same button for addtional 34 seconds is not good in the slightest.

    Struggle is just too annoying.

  • I'm pleased with what I've seen so far. The system seems to be adapting well to the person's gameplay and I'll try to play some weaker killers tonight. I'm having high hopes to get some nice matches after 2-3 not so good ones.

  • For what I noticed so far, if you're doing ok as killer, you'll get harder matches, but if not, you'll get easier ones (this I what I noticed from the streamer I'm watching).

If that's the case, trying harder and harder will only get you harder trials. I wanna try playing Plague tonight and see what the outcome is. Maybe it's just coincidence what I've been seeing so far.

  • I love using this combo because she looks like a real spooky ghost. But in gameplay, I barely notice a difference of going without add ons and using these. I like it for the looks.

  • I'll be surprised if I see this perk more than BL or Lithe, actually.

  • Of course not. But maybe you're just looking for a single yes for comfort?

  • Thank god it's gone. I'll be biased like Behaviour if that's what it means.

  • Whichever role you play, it's gonna miserable, especially due to the our kind matchmaking.

  • Also, if a killer is hard camping (like Bubba) and even hard tunneling, they also get rewarded with noed in the end, because the reasonable thing to do is the objective to get the best chance of escape.

I’ve caught myself a few times recently wishing I had Boil Over. Been a few close calls with wigglin out.

I've been using Boil Over these last days, and I have to tell you countless times I've been hooked with the wiggle bar full. It's not worth it. Sometimes you can barely even notice the difference of having it or not. I actually only was able to escape once with it, by itself. Even though I position myself to make it difficult to carry me to the hook, it seems the killer always get at the hook in the last second. You get dependent on someone else diving in to help you or at least have Break Out to have a chance to make good use of it, or burn an indoor map offering and learn hook locations to position yourself when you're down.

  • I don't really think any of the things you listed are unfair. They're sometimes boring and unexciting ways to play, but when done in the right moment it gives heat to the match.

For me what is unfair is the use of bugs, like the ones that when a survivor gets downed at a gate, you can't pick them up: that's unfair. When killers abused the DS bug or whatever other kind, like the hill one.

In my opinion the problem with hard camping, slugging or tunneling from the start, is that it makes matches dull. What's the point? Do I wanna keep playing if that's the way the game goes? No. I will play something else.

And if I feel like that's what I should do from the start as killer, then why even bother playing? But that's me.

  • I usually don't have bad experiences with streamers.

Most of the times they're just minding their own business. I guess 2-3 weeks ago I played with a streamer that even praised my gameplay, but his friend was like "you can't be talking about the Yui, because she gave me her medkit to heal and went to the door instead of helping me" (I had a daily to open the door with Yui, so... dailies first hahaha). But that was the about the worst feedback I personally had.

As killer, the last time I was against a team of streamers, I went agressive on the start and it was too much. They were kind of low level, but I thought at the start it would be just the regular red-purple team, and it was sad because some hits I got didn't registered on his screen and I feel for him... he left game really sad because it happened twice, and when I attacked I was like "I'm not sure this should've hit" and when I saw on his screen I was like, that was so robbed. It's nice to see these point of views and have even more empathy on the other side. If the game is being fun for me and for them...

I made some friends too, some nice people I've been matched against... like, there are some streamers I was matched quite often and I always brought BPS when against them because they always went for fun and I had great games.

But I do know some streamers that just nothing good to say, it's just insults to the counterpart or teammates... that's a pity and I just don't follow then. Don't really care if I go against them, but I wouldn't bother watching their void.

  • I disagree.

Part of your game as killer is understanding when it's pointless to kick a gen and the survivors are right to punish you for priorizing it. If you know people are around you and you don't have Pop, it's a waste of time and you should focus on the chases, not the gen itself. Besides, Ruin negates perks like Pop, Overcharge and others.

Automatic regression may not seen like it, but it's pretty strong, so I think it deserves a perk slot.

  • Being super honest, I don't usually care if they're bringing keys. When I started playing dbd I brought them all the time, because I love the ring add on and being able to see the obsession's aura, besides not needing to run DS because of it. But I've learned quickly that keys are taboo's and stop bringing them out to avoid stress.

So unless I have a challeng to kill x amount of survivors or something like that, I let it go, because it can be fun. But if someone does a last second swap, I just disconnect during the offering screen. I think that's just plain disrespectful.

  • I'm getting Coldwind Farm over and over again. If it's not that, it's either Shelter Woods or any Autohaven map and I'm sick of it. Can't stand that farm anymore, so I'm burning even Hawkins to get a change of pace.

I just don't understand why I don't see The Game and Crotus Prenn more often, since it should from the rework.

  • The emblems are done to encourage "healthy" gameplay. So if survivors are super effecient, just do gens and barely interact with the killer, they depip. The same thing goes the other way. If you as killer are super efficient and kill everyone too fast, just slug everyone at the start or mori right away without hooks or barely chasing as Myers, it "punishes" you for that.

The game lets you play as you want, but the emblems are there to remind you that's not exactly how they planned the game to go.

    I don't really think it's wrong, anyway.

  • I understand your frustration. Playing at different times of the day usually helps me. And killer is going the same way. The other day I was camped every single match, to the point I started bringing Camaraderie.

I just wish these killers where matched against these survivors, so they could have the max of each others experiences haha

  • Don't even look at chat, if you get anxious about it.

Hmm, about new killer, just try things and let things go. Make a hit or two to be your goal, or to a succesful use of your power and just go. Let the things that are happening around you to just happen and understand it's out of your control, that gives me peace of mind when trying a killer I have no idea what I'm doing with.

Don't punish yourself too hard for making mistakes, and try to focus on the good things you managed to accomplish during the match.

And if you can't, maybe it's better stick around with the things you're used to.

And bring fun perks, if you have any. Whenever I try nurse on my ps4, I equip lightborn and pretend I'm evading the flashlight when they try to blind me. It's fun hahaha

  • I love using shadowborn with any killer, and it's awesome on nurse too. I think it's fun haha

  • 17 pr 18, but thankfully all I wanted was Dwight's red glasses, so I'm basically done with it.

  • If you want perks too, Myers is a good go. Spirit also has good stuff.

Other than that I'd go with Wraith, probably. I think Oni is hard to play and I have Freddy trauma haha

  • I feel you. But unfortunately, I feel that both as killer and as survivor. I'm rank 8 now, but I rarely get killer lower than rank 2. Usually is just rank 1 and 2 everytime.

When I play killer it's about the same. 2-3 red ranks and the other(s) purple, while I'm a rank 11. When I'm lucky I get my own rank, but that's hard. That's why I don't usually do dailies for killers I haven't leveled up anymore. Too much trouble.

  • Nah, I'll pass.

  • I always bring a brown medkit if I have it. I'm the brown medkit guy.

  • I'm gonna try it this week. I plan to throw a pallet somewhere I can hide in the start of the game, reset it and camp it, hoping the stun when the killer come to check the notification out. And praying it will work. I guess like this I can throw the game a little less to get it accomplished. But let's see what happens. I hate these kind of challenges.

  • I only prestiged one single character so far (The Plague) and I regret it so much. I'll won't do it again at least until I have every character I want to play with level up and with all perks.

I'd recommend you do the same.

Then why is Third Seal + Undying not used more often? Right, Blindness has not that strong of a effect.

2 tremendous skill checks is basically the same as BNP skill checks, which most know to hit.

Wouldn't even matter much if the pause effect is removed from Mindbreaker, so guess that would be a change.

At least the blocking range of Blood Favor should be bigger.

Probably because it's Third Seal is a totem and it's not so easy to notice, from the killer's point of view, it's effects. But not being able to tell where a person was hooked or is slugged makes a huge difference in the match. Blindness is super strong, but not really from the start. When you start snowballing that it's the most deadly. It's not as easy to make it work as devour hope or ruin, and it's a totem, so that's one of the reasons people don't use it as much. I'm not against putting something more on Third Seal, but I think oblivious is overkill. That's my opinion.

I also agree with Blood Favor could have a bigger range or could have its coodldown looked at.

    • I think the oblivious thing for third seal is just too much. Blindness itself is super powerful on its own.
    • I don't understand the need for 2 skilchecks on Vvercharge. I'd maybe raise the penalty for failure... but I guess that would demand a cooldown on the perk, maybe... since you can spam kicks as of now.
    • I'd agree on the buff on Mindbreaker if it didn't pause exhaustion already. But in it's actual state, I'm not down for the changes.
    • I don't think Blood Favor should affect windows, especially since Crowd Control is coming. Besides, it's too much on a single perk.

The rest is ok for me. I remember the devs said something about not wanting a perk to overshadow stealth killers power. So for Beast of Prey, maybe there should be something to tell that let survivor tell you have it.

  • If I know I can't win, I'll go for points. Breakable walls, using my power, and even chasing people grants that, though I may not even hook someone depending on matchmaking. And everything you do as killer grants you a quite fair amount of points, so that's just my goal in those kind of matches.

I've heard on console people actively message others just to say crap to them. Like they will go out of their way to message your account n stuff.

I have my chat turned off for non-friends for some years now. And that's even before I started playing online, because psn had some bots back in the day that would send you those weird messages out of nowhere (those "are you looking for a partner? I want to meet you" stuff) and I had no patience. I received friend requests after matches, though, before crossplay was a thing, and everytime it was from people wanting to play more (when as survivor) or just thanking me for hatch or something like that, when I was killer. I personally never had anyone going through all the trouble to send a friendship request to insult me.

But I won't say I've never seen it. My friends received one or two messages like that before crossplay. But it's mostly rare now. Besides, psn is very harsh with hate speech. They may ban your account for the slightest thing you send in chat to another person, and you can lose all your games (if it's not a sub account), so I think that also keeps people in check.

  • That's why I love being a console main. Once the match is over, it's over. I'm not droping hate on anyone nor I have to deal with any of that.

When I play on pc, I usually just skip the chat, doesn't matter if the match was good or not, because it usually has no point (?) for me.

I may give props to another player, though, if I have the chance and they were just too awesome (sometimes I even feel undeserving of those teammates). If someone says gg before I leave, I may reply gg in chat just for being polite (since I know some people on pc care about it and why not be a good sport?), but I usually would rather just move on.
