I would no doubt dodge any lobby if I see a Spireh or Freddy, to avoid right away the nuisance that's going against them. And that probably would be a thing if you could. Besides, you could build yourself to counter the killer's power in general, while the killer - even knowing who you're playing - can only tell so much from you as a survivor.
-
I thought the Twins were really fun at release... I loved the idea of Victor, but there's just too many bugs. I stopped playing them not only because I don't have perks, but because it was bug after bug and I had enough of it.
And after seeing people just playing slugfest with them, I feel totally disencouraged to play them.
I think as long as Trickster receives a slight buff and don't have as many bugs, I'll probably like him, even if it's just to meme around throwing knifes everywhere. But I'll have to wait and see.

Won't say I afk'd but I've gone a few nights helping/memeing with survivors instead of trying to win to get out of purple ranks
I try to stay around rank 13-10 but sub rank 15 is too low to throw and takes too long. 15 and lower is typically where new players are too right? That seems kinda mean to drop that low
But purple ranks and up, the game sucks and I don't play this game to sweat after working all day.
Same. Unfortunately, earlier this month I reached rank 5 and I can say I basically had no fun at all this whole week. So while I don't sandbag people, nor afk, I'm doing my best to depip if I can or make myself offering to stay at green ranks. There is where you can meme and have fun, even when you die and not just experience a miserable death.
-
I could spend the whole match puking on survivor because that's hilarious, but the puke just doesn't hit or register (when you even the animation on the surv). It's super annoying and frustrating. I think she's super fun, but her power need to be looked at a bit, because it's just too frustrating right now.
-
A good hag may be fun. But almost every single hag i played against just put 5 + traps on the hook and lurk nearby ready to teleport back. Then just hope for noed to save them if we manage to do the gens and don't find every single totem, depending on the map.
Today, as example, I just faced a hag that I didn't even had to bother when on gens, because she was just always by the hook, ready to teleport. The hag mains I know, unfortunately, just play in this style too and they main hag because they hardly can perform well with another killer, for how easy is to camp with her. So it's not really like impressive or anything for me.
-
I do, but that doesn't change the fact that some people are hard camping and tunneling out there. And as much as I like playing killer and have my issues to adress in this role, I also like playing survivor.
Sometimes survivor queues are faster, sometimes killer. Sometimes I wanna hang out with my friend. Sometimes she can't play and I stream my killer games for her and some other friends that may want to chat.
So just switching doesn't really solve anything (besides me avoiding doing it... unless the survivors are just making plays like farming hook before I even have a chance to leave, or that dumb "tech" that is running behind me to the hook, expecting to flash save while I turn around and silly things like that... but that's just on the survivor side, I wouldn't blame a killer for bad choices people make)
-
I try to chill, at most. But whenever I get a Trapper daily... I know I have to improve my trap placement and all to make people fall for them, so I just use easy mode with the iri stone.
Other than that, I try fun builds, both as killer and survivor, but when I start getting high skilled red ranks player... oh boy, I just switch to another game. I sometimes feel a little bit more competitive, but that's not usual, nor do I want to be competitive.
-
These last days hard tunneling and camping is the norm. But probably because unfortunately I achieved rank 5, almost 4. People always say that camping and tunneling is something of lower ranks, but that's not true. In red ranks, heavy tunneling and camping is the norm right from the start, in my experience. Whenever I get a green rank, thanks to matchmaking, the killer just plays normally. They camp or maybe tunnel at 1 gens or when they're all repaired? Yes. But I can't blame them for that. But at least it's not right from the start out of despair to keep a high rank.
-
The only counterplay I know of it is the typical "avoid feeding him stalk" advice, so that you can get 3-4 gens done before he gets his power and once he gets it, enter a locker when he's too close for you to vault a window or drop a pallet. That way he'll either slug you or have to hook you.
If it's not infinite, you can play super safe and probably he'll not get much out of it. But usually it is, so you have to keep extra awareness not to be bad positioned.
I've had a match everyone was locker diving because of that and at least one escaped in the end (I was moried in the door of the locker, unfortunately).
I'm looking forward for more tips too if anyone has them.
-
@Terro said:
You'd have to buff him first so that he can get unlimited stalk from survivors, which would suck more (for us survivors).
I have to agree with this. If Myers should lose his stalk meter, then it couldn't be capped as it is now, otherwise his power just wouldn't be viable. I don't really have a problem with how it is now.

If the game is really unfun, I personally just go for the next one. I have nothing against Clown, but I've been going against Clowns that just proxy camp the hook the whole time these last 2 days, with extra hindered bottles. Is it fun? No. I don't usually bring meta perks, because I want to have fun and do my archive challenges. But when the killer is camping from 5 gens, there's no time to do anything. So I either rush the gens and coordinate really hard to counter pressure the killer or there is no chance of anyone surviving, especially when I see that my fellow teammates are not doing objectives effectively in kindred. And that because I usually don't have anything to help me with chases and I'm not even experienced, so I have to compensate for it (or at least I feel like I should..., maybe I shouldn't?).
Do I wanna go through that? Not really. So whatever. I don't blame any killer for trying his A-game nor think they shouldn't, because I know many survivor groups also do that, and it's fair. But I personally don't have any fun in that. I'm not a very experienced survivor and regular chases is not what I think is fun (using tricks during chase is cool, though). So when I am matched against a killer that is just too experienced, usually is not fun. Many times in solo I was the tunneled "weak link" of the team, because of pure matchmaking putting me (as rank 9) against a red rank killer that was desperate for a kill.
The same thing as killer: I'm not that experienced and when I'm faced with experienced survivor, it's also not fun.
In the end, I think it's more a question of playstyle and matchmaking. I have fun with less experienced killers, even if I'm the first to die. The same the other way around.
That doesn't mean I don't learn things from killers and survivors both when I face skilled ones and slowly improve my experience. But I really don't wanna be forced to learn by being stomped by the other part. I don't even know if there's a solution to that.
-
Yeah, both as survivor and killer. You have to bring your worst every match, and it's not fun. People say killer tunnel and camp less at red ranks, but that's not the case. Even if I 'm able to escape, it's just a waste of time.
As killer, it's a pain also. But I think that's the result of getting close to the red ranks (or being matched with them, as killer).

You just have to keep in mind the following: first charge is 4 swipes, the next ones are 3 and this way you don't even have to look at the bar. Purple chili ads 1 and yellow half i think.
I didn't know this. Gonna try and practice it. Thanks!
-
i think her vomit should go faster, to compensate for the server latency. And to get her power, there should be something better. When all your fountais are on the edges of the map, you sacrifice too much to get your power, so something could be done about that. I think the only problem with her is hitting the vomit. If we can get that to work more consistently, then she'll be a threat.
I don't know even anyone who fears Plague as of now (in the sense of "there's a chance we'll lose").

I haven't noticed it. But again, rainbow is back, back again.

No it's not bannable.
But please, if this happens (the area where a save can't be made due to a blockable situation), please grab a screenshot and make a bug report as these areas shouldn't happen.
I hope it doesn't happen again, at least soon haha, but I will report it as a bug then if I see it. Thank you so much.
-
I think the exact opposite of you. I like him and his power, his concept. I think it should de tweaked a little, but I'm totally in for it, totally excited!
-
I don't record my status. I think that just by playing I have general idea on what I'm lacking. I usually notice the mistakes I do in a chase while it's going on both as survivor and killer, how I positioned myself and why it was harmful to me. But there are things, many things, that it's more about practice and learning the maps or how to run tiles.
About perks, I agree that DS wouldn't really come in play in many situations, as it hasn't actually when I brought it. But that's because of slugging and due to having an obsession in the game. And thanks to that I've been getting value out of Flip Flop, as example.
I'd sure check my status if the game published it, but I think i get the general idea of my perfomance while I'm playing or by watching my recorded games (I usually record them or stream for my friends, if they can't play).
-
I don't think so.
He is slow and when he throws his knife he is even slower. Maybe in some maps, it's harder to counter his knife, but as he stands I think he's very counterable.
-
He's cool, he spams knifes, his bat makes "vwooon" when he swings it, he spams knifes that can ricochet and I'll probably be able to play him on console without much effort on landing a knife (again I can spam those, which I love), unlike Huntress or Deathslinger.
So... yeah... I'm looking forward to playing him.
-
If my teammate was helpful and all, I gladly die for them to take the hatch. I only struggle till the last second when the player evaded the whole game, sometimes didn't even go to the hook once out of hiding all game... or was just sandbagging everyone. Then good luck for them hahahaha.
There's no right or wrong. Sometimes it's stupid to feed the killer more kills with an "unsafe" rescue just because the killer pretend not to be nearby (that's falling right under his game), sometimes it's what you need to get 2 escapes.
To tell the truth I hate to smashing buttons, so I'm really down to just move on if I'm not mad at nobody hahaha.
-
It does make a difference to run an exhaustion perk and I notice how much longer I can keep a chase with them. On the other hand, I tend to use aura reading perks, to keep myself informed. That helps me to coordinate and position myself in a way I can hide when needed and buy time for the team without having a chase or to position myself for a better loop if the chase is needed.
I think the information is more valuable to my success, despite my chases being super weak. Kindred + Bond alone allowed me to counter so many kiler strategies and get some escapes for the team (even if I died in the end) that a simple dead hard alone wouldn't (cause my chases aren't that exceptional, anyway).
-
I get pretty bored doing the same thing over and over again, so I like to try new killers. On the other hand, once you're out of brown ranks, there's not really much room to learn a new killer.
The other day I tried to play Demogorgon, but by the time I understood how to start using his skills, I already was at 2 gens left. Not forgiving in the least, so I usually tend to stick with the killers I have perks, add ons and have an idea how to use.
But I wanted to learn new ones. Hopefully MMR will help me, when it comes.
-
I also think he should be 115, especially because he is slowed down while using his power (except during Main Event), making it hard to make it consistent.
And I also defend lowering the number of knifes needed for a down, but not so sure.
-
Camp and tunnel because of an item is plain stupid to me... but I will bring Franklin's if the lobby is full of medkits and toolboxes, because that buys me time do to more in the match. Not really about the item, but the opportunity. Firecrackers are hard to use, I think they're fun. I can't really understand how people hate it haha
-
Hmmm today I did a killer only run with Clown to use my red envelopes and I'm totally burnt out. It's really hard to start learning a new power and face purple and red ranks (though I'm green). It wasn't a horrible experience, but it was very "meh".
And the best part is, in 5 matches I earned less than I usually do with my mains (I guess my highest point was 25k with the envelope, while I can make 32-33 in the event without it as Pig or Doctor). So as it was entertaining, it wasn't the best idea of fun.
When I got burnt out I switched to another game.
As survivor, I'm not that excited to, if I'm not playing with a friend to chat and ######### about life haha.

I have a few rules for when I'm trying to dodge SWFs.
1: If they're all on the same platform, lobby dodge.
2: Keys + Map + Flashlights, or any combination of which, lobby dodge
3: Suspicious amount of flashlights? That's a lobby dodge.
4: Check their profiles if possible. If they have someone in their friends list in the lobby with them, dodge.
It's not foolproof, but those are some good rules to avoid SWFs.
4 flashlights in a lobby is my dream. I love using Lightborn and pretending I'm trying to avoid being blinded and get free hits out of that ahhaha. I've been able to slug 3 people once because of that. The 4th thing sounds too much of a paranoia to me lol
________
As for the OP. If you feel like keep on playing, you should. One bad game doesn't mean the next ones will be bad as well.
You can camp, but if you're not LF and the survivors expect you to do it, it's not quite effective, so you should play around more around their altruism, if possible.

Therein lies the issue.
Even if Survivors are bad and have short, 30 second chases, they will likely still win if the Killer doesn't tunnel someone out.
If each Survivor gives a short 30 second chase, that's about 360 total seconds spent chasing, which is very generous, most Survivors can loop for longer than that. Doing 5 gens take 400 seconds, roughly, without travel time.
That means there is a 40 second difference between the chase time and gen time. That's one slightly longer chase, or one mistake, away from the Killer losing the game.
You can literally be awful at chases and still win simply because gens are ridiculous.
Most of the scenarios you don't really have to tunnel someone out. I think that's too desperate and unfun for everyone. I think slugging is a better option, especially if you already have someone on hook. On the other hand, I also don't think the game is supposed to be a free 4k every game. So gen speed shouldn't be balanced in a way survivors will lose no matter what, considering most are not even really good at chases.
-
But if you're dominating the chases to the point it takes second to end, the survivors should struggle at doing gens because of unhooking simulator. While there are 4 survivors you really have to take them away from the gens, give them choices to make.
I agree that Haddonfield and Gideon are safer places, but Lery's isn't so much.
As example, yesterday I faced a rank 2 nurse that was optimal in chase and used ruin + haunted ground + undying + bbq. Fortunately I was running a totem build because of noed. She was totally dominating the game until ruin was down, because she was just too good. But even after ruin was gone, she continued the game of scare people from gens with a hit and not commit to the chase as we pulled her away, so in the end she was able to only kill one. Didn't we deserve to win, just because we were bad at chases? I don't think so, because we countered her game and she didn't adapt. She didn't want to risk one survivor escaping and for that she lost 3.
I think being able to adapt your game is crucial to hit your goal and that's exciting. The game isn't only about chases, and that is one part that makes it fun for me, because I'm not very good chases both as killer and survivor, but I can play around with stealth, deceive the other part and so on.
I like Saloon, but I hate the Deadzone Woods (as survivor... as killer it's good). On that regard, I think if it's ok to have so unsafe places (just like Hawkins too), there should be safer ones too.
The other day I faced the same Billy with the same build in Autohaven deadzones and then in Haddonfield, one match after the other, and the result was totally opposite, one from the other. And I think that's ok, it's part of everyone's rng, I guess.
-
I just played today on steam (where I'm rank 19 as killer), just to get some points to spend on my Cheryl. There I only have 1 killer above level 1 and 4 perk slots unlocked that is Bubba and I'm not used to the controls on pc, because I usually play killer on ps4 (where I'm rank 13).
So I chose Bubba, brought the brown add ons that I had and expected a game of Claudettes hiding and stuff, but I was surprised that I was going against purple and red ranks (yes, at rank 19) that seemed to know how to play every loop? When I finally found someone I could chase without wasting 3 minutes, I was already at 2 gens left.... so gg, I guess.
I played 3 matches like that in a row and gave up on playing killer on pc (at least for now). I'm also not doing the killer dailies I have there... there's simply no chance that I can hit 5 fully charged shreds with Demo without add ons and only a perk against this, and I won't even get points for the match anyway. I'm sorry for those who are starting now and have to face this.
I'm gonna stick to killer on my console. The opponents are exactly the same, but at least there I have killers I know how to play, perks and add ons to work with and I'm used to the controls. The matchmaking is just atrocious.
-
I agree. Both this perk and repressed alliance deserve a cooldown reduction. They're playing way too safe with these numbers, you can barely use these perks on the trials.
-
I think that just "makign someone gay" is exactly what they were avoiding. They said they wanted to bring representation, but doing it the right way, so that's just the other way around.
They just should release the character as is and that's it, no hidings.
-
If I'm being facecamped by a Bubba, I hope my teammates do gens and escape. If I noticed they're coming, I will just start killing myself on hook to send the message of "get away".
At this point, i just wish I didn't have to smash a button to struggle to buy time for my team.
-
I'd rather have Camaraderie be buffed to work on both hook stages and tell other players the one on the hook has it. By default, I think camping can be part of the game, specially if a survivor wants to loop around the hook or in a 3 gen situation.
Besides, using the heartbeat is not really a fix. If it was gonna be this way, it would be better be according to distance. But then again, you could just loop the killer at the hook with little pressure being pushed to the survivor team, so I don't really agree with it.
-
I love flip flop, sometimes I use it with unbreakable, sometimes with tenacity. It always feels rewarding when it works. It's really fun. I used it so much a fellow friend started using it too hahahaha
-
I've called people and even myself a baby in every online game I ever played. And that's because I'm just getting to know it, starting to experience it and developing my senses. I even think it's cute in that way.
I don't see it as an offense. But depending on the context, yes, it can be mean (like in mean end chat). But most times I see someone use it it's not to offend, it's just to describe this development stage.
-
Yesterday I did the dailies and some more survivor matches in order to get the shards I needed for DS on my steam account. But I was fed up by my third match. I played the last 2 matches I needed for the shards like I was being punished for something. I never wanted so bad to turn a game off, but I also didn't want to buy Laurie on pc, so I pushed myself to do it.
I'm not doing any daily today and I'm not sure I'm gonna play it till the next patch. I wanted to do the dailies with at least a friend, mostly everyone I know dropped the game for now, so I went solo q. And not cool... it's unplayable right now, at least here
-
I hate it as survivor because of the dead zones in the middle and how things get hidden there. I hate it as killer too, because it seems to attract the blendettes when I'm there and I personally can't see that well anyway.
-
The game is not on a good state to play as survivor... most of the people I know dropped the game for now and the ones who are still playing for some reason, I don't even blame them for killing themselves and go for something else with the many bugs there are right now. The event doesn't even make it so worth it.
Maybe when they patch it things get back to normal. I hope so.
-
Just hook the survivor and there will be no dc for the hatch. And it's rare anyway
-
Nah, just nerf Spirit already.
-
It's a multiplayer online game. I would actually be impressed if you stopped playing with your friends because someone else told you to do so for any circumstance.
I personally wouldn't hate you for playing a multiplayer game with your friends. And we can all share things and learn from each other. So... yeah, go ahead.
-
I actually don't feel that way. I usually am able to punish the doctor if he doesn't know the exact timing of his shock and it's quite punishing, since he gets slowed down.
If you're really good with him and know the exact timing, it gets really harsh, but I think I've seen this kind of skill just once. He's really hard to play and if he fails his shock you can get one or more loops out of him.
-
I don't really care, because I always do my best to stay away from the red ranks sweaty mess. So a rank downgrade for me is always welcome (so I stay between green and purple). I wouldn't mind. But on the other hand, I want them to fix it asap so the sweaty ones don't get deranked.
-
I use it actually as a way to tell "stay away from the gen if you're in chase". Sometimes people come to help, sometimes not, but I still think it's worth it that when someone gets down, I get to see what everybody is doing and adapt my playstyle. Sometimes working together is not the choice, but even so you can get these advantages of the perk.
-
I had good experiences with them, especially as killer. As survivor not so much because I'm the random console player some tend to blame if anything goes wrong.
Won't say I love all of them, but especially smaller streamer I've seen try to be nice in order to get more viewers and to entertain. I usually stay at those lobbies to see other angle of the match.

"soemtimes"? "godly hidden places", i'm sorry, but that's not true at all, the odds are like
10% they spawn in a godly place
90% they just spawn near a gen/ in front of a gen/inside a common loop/near a pallet/at the top of a hill/in the middle of the map without cover.
Wish those were my games as survivor. For me it's been quite balanced totem spawn.

You have to admit that it is incredibly stupid how totem spawns work.
I mean... there are bad spawns and there are good ones. I think it's worse on older maps that have not been reworked yet, were they may spawn in the middle of the map with a neon sign. But other than that, I don't think they are overall that easy. But then again, I don't play this game everyday to have memorized all totem spawns and I know many survivors who don't as well. But maybe those who do play this often enough will just know every secret location, so it wouldn't matter anyway, imo.
-
That's just how totem works. Sometimes they will spawn in godly hidden places, sometimes not. It's a risk build.
-
I have all the rights to complain. The game as usual is super buggy, the devs didn't care to actually tell us they needed to postpone things they announced and I've spent money on this game.
I don't hate the new UI, as I stated in another posts, but from what I've seen of friends playing today, the hitbox are super buggy and there are lot of things to patch. So yeah, I'm giving no appraise this time around (except for the new cosmetics... I think those are good. But no point in playing a cute outfit in a bugged game).
-
I wish they at least gave us feedback that it wasn't going live, since they announced it and then said nothing officially. I'm extremely upset. Wasn't already so in the mood for playing the game, and now I'm taking a break for a while, since I feel disrespected.
