  • I'm not annoyed, unfortunately. I'm glad they're giving great powers, but in exchange of a punishment if you use it wrong.

  • @Marigoria said:

Why do you complain about being found first when as soon as you spawn you start sprinting everywhere?

Why do you loop near the hook your team mate is on?

Why do you open the gates when the killer is nowhere near you?

Why are you allergic to totems?

Why don't you crouch when you unhook against a hag?

Why do you still drop that pallet after you get hit?

Why do you self care under pallets when a team mate is being chased nearby?

Why do you feel the need to heal 10 times a match?

    • I actually don't go sprinting everywhere. If I'm found first I was surely on a gen and I don't care about it. If I don't wanna be found first, you can be sure I won't haha
    • I don't loop near hooks, so I don't complain about it. But if the killer is camping, I may start the chase there to lead him away.
    • If my teammates were clearly sandbagging me through the match, I'll go and leave them to their luck to return the favor.
    • Have you seen the new totem spots? They're nasty. Hidden inside objects that are also hidden in tall grass. There are totems you can't see if you don't have a map or Detective's Hunch. But if I was chased good part of the game, I can't use Detective. Or sometimes the killer is facecamping with an instadown killer and everybody is switching hooks. You can't prioritize totems in that scenario. The team may have more chances against NOED. It depends on the match. But if everyone is on the same level and the killer doesn't have Undying to show the auras, we can go through totems if I can find them and/or they're not glitched. It also depends.
    • Maybe they're still learning?
    • This doesn't happen to me on PC, but on PS4 if I press R1 to drop the pallet before being hit, but I don't make it to the pallet, it usually doesn't cancel the input and drop it after I was hit. I hate this input lag, but it's there. It may be this or it's just despair on someone who's still learning to play.
    • Good question.
    • Heal self or other people? Because it can be a mission or challenge and besides that each trial is a trial. It may be a smart move or not, depending on the role you're playing. I got matched with a Zarina in a game that saved the person that was being camped, healed. Then saved the next one and healed. Meanwhile I was doing gens or being chased, but we all made it through that, so it was a good play and she had perks to save people and heal. It depends.

  • Both Plunderer and Ace as perks that have just a few uses, so I don't really see the problem.

Especially Ace in the Hole... it gets you 1 single add on and if you're lucky 2. It's not really a great deal, unless you're lucky enough to get a medkit (I really think flashlights and toolboxes have bad add ons, that don't really make much for you).

I personally use the looting build sometimes and it's a huge gamble as it is. It can give you powerful items to change your match, or it can give you nothing useful though all 6 loots. And you have to spend 2+ minutes to get the items. And that even with Plunderer. So I think that's really fair and I don't see the point of "nerfing" the combo, otherwise it's just gonna make people run less different perks.

  • I almost never bring items to the trial, unless i have an fixed objective, like a challenge to do. When I want items, I actually use my chest searching build and it does wonders most of the times.

About Franklin, it's been long since I really lost any item to it. If I know the killer has it, I always drop my item near a generator where I can have easy access later. If I'm carrying a map, I'll just do the scout early and get what I need in the first place and then it doesn't matter if Franklin's will take it or not.

Today you have 90 seconds at level 3 to take the item back. It's quite a while if the item is important.

If you brought a key, you could also bring a hatch offering and drop the key in the building in case you need it. And if you do not, just retrieve it in late game and go with it. At least the charges don't go away anymore before you use it. I don't know. I don't like Frankln's but you mostly can use it to fool a killer into your game. I've seen many killers care too much about items to the point they forget about their main goal.

  • Overall I like it out of higher ranks. I think when you reach purple it stops being fun. It's just one side sweating the most to defeat the other, in my experience. I like playing both survivor and killer in green/yellow ranks. Usually there I get some teammates that are ok, for the standards of the match. On the other side, as yellow/green rank killer I am allowed to make mistakes and recover from them till a certain extent, so it feels fair for me (I'm not very experienced in the roles), as long as the matchmaking doesn't put me with high levels... But then, if this happens, it's the game's fault.

I like playing it with my friends. When I want more points I usually go for killer. And I wish the grind wasn't so huge as it is, because I can prepare builds for only 1 of my killers now. I have to level every other killer up and that's not fun. I just don't have patience and play with what I have.

Fortunately, as survivor I am close to getting all the perks I wanted with my mains. But I won't prestige no one, because it's just not worth it. Too much grind.

  • I didn't play today, but watched a friend play... and she got at least one rank 18-20 in all her matches, despite being rank 4 atm. And for "balance" the game throws a rank 13-10 killer. So it's just slaughter after slaughter.

These events are sad in the matchmaking.

  • I love Pig. She's one of my mains. But oh god, I hate playing against her now because there was not a single match since these last 2 months they weren't playin scummy. And with add ons that encourage you to play that way, what else is there?

Actually, I'm amazed how some killers find ways to use their powers to play as unfun as possible. They never fail to amaze me.

  • If you say so.

But at least here survivors queues are not like that. Plenty of killers playing usually, so I can skip some days.

  • I always think to tunnel a key holder is not very effective. In my experiencie it turns out they do 4 gens while you're tunneling and take the key and go anyway. If you don't tunnel, the game has to be played normally till at least the first death and you can put more pressure if they don't manage to do at least 3 gens when there's 2 of them left, defeating much of the purpose of the key for multiple escapes.

And if they manage to get the 5 gens before I can kill anyone... well, then the key was unnecessary in the match anyway

  • I would surely watch that match. I think it would be extremely boring or extremely fun, don't know hahahaha

  • It's bloodhunt time. So camping and tunneling is gonna be even harder. I decided I'm not playing today. Play another thing and then think on something that might be fun for you, like a Head On match.

  • I don't really hate this game, otherwise I wouldn't think twice before dumping it.

I do hate some things that happens in the game. Some of them are because of bugs, other from matchmaking and some because there are people playing and sometimes they do things that are "cheap" or you simply don't like as play style... but it's life.

Whenever I get too many bad games, I play other things. But I don't really hate, because there are new things to try, I have many things to discover and I usually have fun with my friends. So while there are times I don't feel like playing (and then I simply don't), I still like it.

  • My queues as survivor are pretty decent. As killer, if I'm not playing by the night, it's always 10+ minutes.

I guess nobody wants to solo queue here hahaha

  • @RayrafLPP said:

I use it but I think its broken. Dont know the numbers, but every time im with someone on a gen i feel bad for the killer. It just goes so fast

I doesn't make much of a difference when there's 2 people on a gen. With 2 people it reduces about 6 seconds you'd take without it.

But it gets nasty with 3 and 4 people, I guess it reduces up to 9-12 seconds with 3/4 people. That's a lot considering how fast 3/4 people can do a gen. It's a good counter to ruin or pop.

  • Hmmm I prepare my build for the game. Ge things in the bloodweb and if there's time I check social media. But I'm usually with at least 1 friend as survivor, so we're always talking about life, games and stuff....having fun hahahah

  • Against stealth killers it works like Spine Chill, but at a greater range, with the downside the killer know exactly where you are.

If you don't mind ranks, why not? You'll put yourself in a position you'll have to learn to loop better. Either the killer will ignore you and save you for last or you'll have consective chances to improve your chases. So, if you feel like it, why not? You can even put No Mither with it (I wouldn't, but I played No MIther on solo the other day and it wasn't so bad, except I was camped everygame hahahaha)

  • I thought the post was funny and even reminded me that a friend of mine, who started playing with me back in may/june (I don't remember when Silent Hill Chapter was published) dropped this game after 2 weeks after heavy camping and tunneling.

I have to say that I see many killers achieving red ranks purely by facecamping and tunneling, because the survivors not always know how to pressure the killer back. And noed is there to help them get some kills to hardly get that bip to lean them forward. Also there's ruin + undying now giving them more credit than I think they should have, but that will go soon.

As killer, I watched some videos before trying and even because facecamping got one of my best friends out of DBD, I knew that wasn't fun and didn't want to do that (even though I did it sometimes at EGC after being a rank 16 matched against red ranks because whatever, but I stopped that because it's not the players fault, it's poor matchmaking, so whatever).

As survivor, I don't feel like I belong in any of these categories you listed. I never came to the forums to be competitive. I've watched videos and read stuff to improve my gameplays and usually record them to learn, but not because I want to become a rank 1 or anything. I just want to make the most out of my game, lasting more than 1 minute, especially since I bring "meme perks" usually. But I don't really give killers a great challenge as of now (I think, at least). I have a long road before getting remotely good and may even give up this game before achieving it.

  • Whenever I use it, it seems like I'm affected by the Plague, puking and all. People doesn't seem to want to do gens with me hahahaha. And I main Dwight.

So I usually don't bring it. But I like if someone does bring it, though. I try to get as much done with them. Usually I try to run different builds. Yesterday I was running rescuing and healing perks and it helped, because for me it was facecamp/slugfest day.

  • Yeah, I understand you. Today I was facecamped 7 out of 8 matches I played. One of the matches I was the first person hooked and gladly everyone took the time to complete the gens and even got to save me in the end... but yeah. There are days that all killers want to do is facecamp and hope people fall on their tricks.

  • I also don't like going against 4 toolboxes, but I don't care for the rest... really.

I don't Franklin is worth it. Unless you're camp an item, what can cost you the match if you don't know how to put this with other kind of pressures. I also don't really mind keys, as long as I don't a mission to kill x survivors... but it's your choice... in the end it may make a difference or not. If the survivors don't really know what they're doing, they can really screw up after their items.

But if you don't notice a big difference of playing without it, then you can try something else.

  • Hmmm... I don't know. This perk has the same problem as Deliverance: you can't be the first one to go in order to use it. Unless your teammate take the chase from you and the killer accepts the trade, if you go first, no SW for you after first hook. And that considering you'll heal that teammate or someone else before the first hook.

I think the second one is easier to achieve, but it is still kind of situational.

I think it will be better now, but I don't expect to see it too often, to be honest.

  • I never teabag or anything of the kind for a killed who's clearly less experienced than me, unless they try to tunnel or facecamp, because then I always taunt back.

Actually, if I don't really have a mission or am farming for points with cake + WGLF, I usually let them hook me and give them a kill, so that they get some points too. I did it like 3 times last month and I was really impressed one of them (a Pig player) started to hit me until I died and I was like "ok... then." hahahahahahaha

When I play as killer I also have to face red ranks now and then, and there's no much to do. I know it turns into a practice match for using your powers, learning the map and maybe even learning new jukes for playing as survivor, but it isn't how it shoud be.

No, it just raises efficiency by now. The speed remains the same.

Adding things playerbase didn't ask for and not fixing or adding things playerbase asked for.

I see. In that regard, I don't reach the same conclusion.

They never took every feedback into the game, so that's unchanged. And about the new things, they are just projects, possibilities presented to us.

I think if they were to change the focus on player base, they wouldn't care to try and preserve some features they did in the ptb. The game is just evolving, in my pov.

  • Lately, every pig I've seen have been camping boxes and tunneling hard. This week I've seen tampered timer with rules set number 2 three times. One pig even care to chase a survivor crouched in order to not stop the trap timer, because the gen was done as soon as the trap was put.

So I wonder what they ll do to her at all. She needs and add on pass that focus on her ambush more, I think. To encourage skillful gameplay

  • Hmm... I don't really understand how you reached this conclusion, though. What in the ptb exactly would suggest this?

  • In the ptb, yes, it is happening. I think this was reported already, though

  • Unfortunately this is happening to everyone, not only killers.

Sunday I played with my friend that is rank 6 and I am rank 8. We were paired with a rank 19 and rank 18 who clearly didn't have any clue on what they were doing against a rank 11 Doctor. Even though the Doctor wasn't so good, he simply downed them in 1 minute and it was quickly a 2 vs 1 game with 5 gens to work in Shelter Woods, the great dead zone of Macmillan.

Saturday the same thing happened too.

I was even matched with low ranks against a rank 5 killer. It gets frustrating sometimes.

  • I agree. If for some reason I forget the menu with him, I take a jumpscare with his roar. Not cool

  • I took some seconds until I realised it was Rainbowdash in the bottle. Well, maybe that explain the speed boost.

  • No, they do not see it. Actually I don't know how the thumbs up works for real. But I still give it to killers or teammates that I feel made a great game.

  • I hate Freddy and Spirit. They can do so much even if the player doesn't understand the game well.

If I could, I'd skip every single match with them. But, I have to say I had a super fun match with a Freddy once and he even brought a mori in that occasion. He just didn't use it on me and we were both making so many mistakes that it was fun, even though I died. But it's not likely to repeat itself so soon.

OH, RIGHT NOW I HATE THE TWINS... How could I forget? Don't see them often, but I'm done with the slugfest and over forgiving hitboxes Victor has. Besides the kicking sometimes doesn't evenwork and you get downed because it bugged somehow (I guess if I could kick him as I am supposed to I would be less mad). For me, as of now it's a run for the lockers if you're injured and pray that your teammates know how counter his slug by keeping Charlotte away, what usually does not happen. So I had my share of it already.

  • As a former player o Resistance (that lead me to play DBD with the release of the Silent Hill chapter), I've noticed many similarities too once I first saw the new UI. But, I still will only believe there will be a Resident Evil chapter after they announce one. I had my share of false hopes already.

  • My personal opinion: Undying lasted longer than I think it should. I've just seen so many killers that didn't really knew how to use their own powers, but were able to do kill a lot, because there is too much value from the combo. You don't need to kick gens, the regress speed is doubled, if there's tinkerer you can buy just so much time, and totems are well hidden in some maps it just gives the killer too much time.

Once I got Undying from Blight, I thought on using it, but I choose not to after facing it again and again as survivor. It's not fun and allows the killer to recover from too makes many mistakes for my taste. Even in the bloodlust off experiment I tried to play the most I could as killer to improve my skills and improve my own gameplay.

I'd rather lose and learn from it, than "win" because I came equipped with a thousand chances card. But that's me.

Besides, if the mmr is going to work, all that data that I'd have performed better than usual from the combo was just gonna hurt me, because once the combo was gone (this was gonna happen sooner or later), the mmr would understand I should face survivors way more experienced than I am able to deal with, and then let's have fun not being able to do a single mistake to get a hook.

3 minutes that’s it? Where are you from? I’m in California and queue times are 10 minutes. Also, the streamers I watch around the country wait a MINIMUM of 5 minutes. Are you sure you only wait 3 minutes?

I'm sure. I played today from 9:30 pm till past 11 pm. Yesterday from 10 pm to 12. I'm from Brazil. I don't get to wait 10 minutes here. Otherwise I'd probably play other things (that's actually one of the reasons I don't play killer that much... 10+ minutes to find a match during the day, when I usually try to play). Maybe there are more killers playing at the time in South America, since I get matched with people from other countries too. But... yeah, it doesn't take that much time here.

  • I get games in about 3 minutes by the night as survivor. After midnight the queues get longer... but it's very late, so that's probably why. Also, maybe it's a region thing the super long queues...

But if MMR is right, the best killers will take the best survivors. I see quite often my friends that are rank 1 killer getting unexperienced survivors and then those rank 10 killers get the red ranks. I'm not gonna put too much faith in this, but it should reverse it.

  • You should. There's not even point in "caring about other people's fun" when their fun is to ruin the fun of the other side by hard tunneling, if it makes sense.

Besides, in solo queue is way more likely you'll get farmed, so you'll have a chance after that. DS in solo is not only about the killer, unfortunately is about the teammates you get too.

But if you ask me, I don't bring it, because I try to believe I'll have a fair match and I want to have fun. So I normally use other obsession perks, like Blood Pact. Sometimes I pay the price of not having it, but just by having an obsession perk, many matches get more "civilized". And if not, I play othe game until I have friends to join.

  • I love all of Tapp's perks, so I tend to use them every now and then.

But my favorite non meta perk must be bond, after Open Handed (that's why my avatar). I love aura reading perks, as survivor or killer, because basically I'm that blind survivor/killer that can't see anything if it's not glowing in front of me hahahaha.

But I run many non meta perks, depending on the mood of the day, like Leader, Fixated, Better Together, Camaraderie + No Mither + Blood Pact (because killers love to camp No Mither, don't ask me why... almost always get value from Camaraderie when using No Mither), Windows of Oportunities, Diversion, Flip Flop, Plunderer's Instinct + Appraisal... and other fun combinations :P

As killer, I don't have many perks on many killers, so I usually just run whatever build I have. But I love Plague and Dark Devotion. You'll see me run that.

  • For me it was also Spine Chill. But I realized that since I use bond, I don't need it that much, since I can tell most killers are nearby by using bond.

But it does come at a price of a little bit of paranoia from stealth killers hahaha

  • For me it was also Spine Chill. But I realized that since I use bond, I don't need it that much, since I can tell most killers are nearby by using bond.

But it does come at a price of a little bit of paranoia from stealth killers hahaha

  • Well, the perk's quote is something like "there's nothing to be scared of", so I think that's why some people can not feel scared when with it. But then again, why would you go after the Meg with DS? You can just chase all other survivors or take the DS... it only works once, just as unbreakable.

If you were just being too good in chases, taking the DS may feel unfair... but it's probably not gonna stop you from killing them anyway.

  • I play both on ps4 and pc:

It depends. By the day I usually take 10-20 minutes to find killer matches. About 1-2 minutes to find survivor ones. I think that it's faster if I'm in swf of 4, but not always it's possible.

By the night, I'd say it usually takes 2-3 minutes to find matches as survivor and 30 seconds as killer. But about midnight the survivor queues get around 5-10 minutes and killer gets almost instant.

    South America.

  • They did it so the perk, while active, can also act as a tracking one, but not something that will counter the cleansing. They got rid of the aura reading for lit totems in order to encourage the killer to use thrill.

  • I'm pretty glad with the rewards, actually. I still have to grind a lot with both survivor and killer and every help counts. Not saying I wouldn't accept others, but this is nice.

  • I play mostly on console. I guess I have about 400 hours, maybe more on PS4... but my steam profile there's barely 50 hours played. Right now I'm rank 12 on steam, and rank 7 on ps4 as survivor. I'm not that experienced, but I'm no noob either.

So, you can't really tell how good I am based only on that. But if you're on pc you can ask (anyway I'm probably gonna answer I'm bad at the game haha)

  • To be honest, I've seen people using noed even with ruin and undying. I already expect it in any game. But it's way easier to deal with than undying was at it was. I won't say I love noed, but if it's to choose between the perks, noed it is no doubt about it.

  • I don't think it is lag switching. I had some matches like these as well (I'm from São Paulo/Brazil) and at first I thought it was the killer.

But the other day I got a lagged lobby like that on a KYF. Everybody was rubberbanding, even though we were all together and talking. So it wasn't any of us, it was just the server.

There was just one time last week I've seen it happen but it did not affect a killer (that was able to hit everyone at first besides the roll backs)... and it was a pc player... so I won't really defend it wasn't him on purpose. But every other match I got like that (and it was more than 10 I can remember throughout this last month), I'm positive it wasn't the killer's fault.

8 of them even disconnected. And 2 of the matches we did, because the killer refused to.

So you're saying that you dislike this combo cause you want easy games for your SWF? Even tho you probably use comms and therefore have a massive advantage over killer?

No, I'm saying just what I said. I want games that I can have fun. If I wanted simply easy games I could use the meta, do gens as fast as I can, use exhaustion perks that I don't normally use and anything to make the game "easy".

That's my personal experience. I know people see the game otherwise too.

I could argue that killers want "easy games" too by using it. But that's not the point. My point is that it isn't fun because then I have to be just too efficient to compesate for the fact I don't use perks that help me get the objective done, such as my friends do. And as I play swf, that's true, that doesn't mean it's always 4 and nor that mean we're good. People misunderstand a lot.

Also, I always use bond and/or kindred, so I don't really rely too much on info from my teamates because they can give you false information also. I actually think I get as much information from a solo game than in a swf, with the difference I can have fun games with friends and I don't do it in solo, because I don't know what's the goal of the random playing with me and I'm not there to ruin anyone else's fun.

I don't care about ruin, because I think it's fine as it is, but the combo is annoying especially from the aura readings and everything I said before.

  • First of all because undying shows auras and not everybody play this game so often that you know by memory all of the totems location.

The maps are smaller and smaller, making easier for the killer to patrol everything. If you don't have a real good coordination or means to reveal the totems, it wastes just too much time. You can force your way through the gens by playing super aggressive, but that needs coordination.

If you go for the totems, usually the killer goes there to defend it, so it's a hard position to be in and it's not fun at all, unless you're fortunate to be in a team of very experienced people that can punish the killer for every single mistake done.

Basically, you have to try hard as survivor and I don't think it's fun and I don't go into the match prepared for it at all. I personally use builds that I think are fun, but extremely situational, that can't force longer chases or help me too much besides my own skills. i could equip myself and maybe try to convince my friends to use the meta and get room to make more mistakes and put much more pressure back to the killer and maybe even work more effectively. But I don't think that's fun and if it's to play like that, I'd rather play other games.

I mean... i took some time to convince my team to use flip flop, and now I'm trying deception and camaraderie. The other day we made a urban evasion line through the map and that was awesome (even though the Bubba didn't understand anything and sawed while at it hahahaha). After being saved we got into the match. But we can't do that against this combo, because there's simply no chance of escaping if we do so.

Basically: why would I want "tournament" matches? We're not even that good and like to play around. Sometimes we escape, sometimes we all die. But we have a chance. With this combo, we don't. So why bother?

  • The thing is if you want the EGC to start, you have to open the gate yourself. That's your choice to make. Besides, not always 99 the gates help.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 8
