  • Free bloodpoints and shards? Count me in, that's all I have to say.

The crown was kind of fun, but you would mostly die just trying to keep it as survivor. I wasn't a fan of the gen thing too. Made killer camps the gens that rewards us and the rewards were not even that great anyway.

Rewarding me for just playing, in these circumstances, is just good enough for me.

  • Hmmmm I hate Yamaoka now. As survivor it's horrible for deadzones and as killer I can't see anything. Also hate autohaven, the cornfields, mcmillan... most of the them, hate the asylum (but I do like the church one)... what else? I hate Springwood too.

I like Hawkins, Lery and I even like The Game... These 2 first ones because I tend to use kindred and bond so I can have wall hacks when the killer can't... and I also love playing Pig. Besides I like the Saw franchise, so I like The Game, even though I mostly die there hahahaha.

I also love Silent Hill, so I mostly like midwich. But I hate that I can't loop there :(.

I hate open maps, in gereral.

  • Hmmm I hate Yamaoka now for having basically nothing. And I hate dark maps, because I can't see anything as killer. Sometimes I have a hard time even exiting the basement.

  • I always use cabled connection and my ping is rarely past 50. My friends are the same.

I don't know... I've always needed stable connection to play the games I do, so cable was always the way to go.

On the other hand I rarely use cable on my pc (it's a laptop, so I do have the cable, but wi fi is better most of the times).

Anyway, I usually don't meet other console players with high ping when I play. Maybe it's a regional thing?

Nah, they dont get it. Its always the same, if one person is unhooked, only that one Survivor exists. So they tunnel and get hit by DS, just to open a Thread on the Forums afterwards.

Yeah, I don't even know why I still bother.

Ive hooked another survivor and still got hit by ds but noone ever talks about that i guess.

    It happens sometimes to everyone.

Make them waste the unbreakable. It's one use only. If they're optimal survivors, as it seems by your description, you won't be able to keep all of them off gens all the time. So you'll have to slug the others. You can also take the DS if they get in a locker and are not in optimal loop.

I hate slugging, but sweaty survivors ask for sweaty moves.

  • You have... I don't know... other 3 survivors to chase? There are times in the match when slugging and letting people pick the teammate up is a wise move.

  • @CornHub said:

I swear I can't be the only killer main who doesn't pay attention to what items survivors bring.

Sometimes I do, but mostly I don't. I usually bring lightborn when I see 3 or 4 flashlights, but this weekend I didn't even notice until the end game people even had it hahahahaha

    @brokedownpalace said:

Ez pz lemon squeezy. Last 3 games I've brought a key (mainly because I like the add on that let's you see the obsession) and last 3 games Franklin's was used.

BONUS: If you equip the aforementioned add on, it will force an obsession even if no one is using DS, thus the killer will be hesitant to tunnel or will slug, allowing a teammate to pick you up or for you to use Unbreakable.

As for the keys, I don't care about them. I don't really mind using Franklin's just for this reason, much less a mori. People are sometimes so childish over an item. Besides, as survivor, I love keys for aura reading. Many times the survivor die even before finding the hatch and the item will be consumed eventually.

  • Quentin Smith. I got Vigil from the shrine not long after and I don't really care about him or his perks right now... Maybe if he got his face reworked to resemble a little more of the movie, I'd consider playing with him. But anyway, I hate his perks. Should've just bought Freddy.

I also regret buying Deathslinger. I like Zarina, but I don't like him or his perks. I'm horrible at aiming: what was I thinking?

  • @bubbabrotha said:

Say your controversial opinions about game balance. No sugar coating. Ill start.

I use moris because they are fun. I know they aren't balanced, and I don't care.

I don't use keys because they aren't fun for me. Unless the killer is right there, and its a narrow hatch escape, keys aren't rewarding.

I like keys more than moris. First because I can have aura readings with them, and I love that. Second is that you still need number of survivors + 1 gen to have a hatch escape, unless you're the last one. So usually you need to really work for it. It's not like the mori you can just hook once and then tunnel without being worried of any penalty.

I used to run them with the ring that lets me see the obsession the whole time, but since people seem to believe I'm just gonna wait for everybody else to die for a hatch escape, I've been using it less and even saving them for the archive challenges.

About game balance, I just wish matchmaking was better, so that I don't get paired with survivors much better than me as killer and killers out of my league as survivor. Happens way too often

  • Anything you say they're gonna call you whatever sided. Don't even worry about it.

I played killer this weekend more than I use to and I have to say I did notice a difference without bloodlust, but I can also say the times I was like "if I had bloodlust I'd have that hit", those hits wouldn't be really fair, since I was outplayed by the survivor.

On the other hand, I got Badham more times than I wished for and I always break those walls at the start (and usually find someone there trying to abuse it early on, so that's good).

I like playing Pig, so this experiment also made me use my ambush more in situations I know I should use it but... it was easier with bloodlust? So I felt proud for hitting some ambush hits with mind games that I usually don't do.

In overall I had a fun weekend. Had some sweaty teams, but again I wasn't running a sweaty build (just wanted to have fun with some jump scares), so nothing to be done when I lost some matches.

  • Omg, half oh my matches were on Badham. Hate that map. Sunday I burnt all map offerings I had just to be sure I wouldn't see that map. Even burnt The Game.

  • What is to smurf?

Anyway, about teabagging, I ve notice low ranks seem to do it lot more than higher ranks for 0 reasons. I don't really care, but maybe that's just because they came to the game from watching some playing as such. Don't know

  • I went, as killer, from 17 to 14 just by playing for 2 and a half hours. And I'm bad as a rank 18 Hahaha. I also wish it was slower

  • It's normal, over here.

  • Over here it was the regular gameplay as ever. No killer rg. Survived some games, died many others. As killer, I even forgot bl was a thing. But again, I'm a low rank killer and the matchmaking was mostly ok

  • I even forgot bloodlust existe. So far, so great.

  • Again, that's why I love not having post game chat.

From my perspective I can't really say. As example, yesterday I was facecamped because I used flip flop and escaped the grasp of the killer. Flip flop OP, nerf it haha haha.

Also, I watched a streamer play on pc. She was tunneled and camped and at the end and the killer said "that's what you get damn flashlight users", even though she didn't even had one. She at the same time said that, gl next game and the killer proceed to call names.

I still think it's really both sides, but survivors have 4 chances to be like that.

  • I usually like it, but today I confronted a face camping mirror Myers. And that's not really fun.

  • About people being mean: if you're on pc, just quit the post game chat. If you're on ps4 disable the messages for people who are not your friends. I did that as soon as I started playing pvp because you're gonna get some messages no matter what. Even though, most messages I got were thankfully good ones. I even made friends with survivors when I was playing as killer (some of them I was able to kill, some i didn't, but the game was fun for us).

I'm sorry you have to deal with so many aggro teams. I fortunately don't face them so often, but then again I don't play killer that often and I avoid playing killer at night because that's usually the time these kind of teams come out.

As for the perks, as much as I love Discordance, once the survivors realize you have it, they tend to spread and the gens will be rushed. So I'm using other detection perks as of late.

Sprint Burst is something you can bait and get rid of, once you know they have it.

I think bloodlust should be removed, because the maps are being reworked and I don't think the killer should get free hits for not playing well. And it's just a 2 days test, so it will be fine.

And survivors also have to deal with killers that just don't care. Many people have no empathy with the other side. Sad.

  • Everyday someone post the same thing. I'm pretty sure they're aware of the demands. Let's wait and see.

I took a long break from this game because the Tome just destroyed gameplay for me as a solo survivor. Hours and hours of playing and I couldn't get even one game where my teammates were actually trying to win. Nothing mattered but challenges. Now that the new level is available, I'm reminded again of how horrible this game is when you're literally the only person actually playing and not swarming every hook to get seven heals.

So, how do you put up with it? I feel like I'm just going to have to delete this game because with the Tome out, the game is never going to be the same.

I don't. I only play swf or killer now. I'd rather play another game than face solo que

To be fair, wasn't the stilted dialogue and acting in Silent Hill 2 on purpose? The story was told less in what was being said and more how it was said. James sounded clumsy and fake because his entire quest was a self-induced delusion. Angela sounded childish and scared because she was never allowed to grow mentally. That sort of thing.

It really adds up to the context. I can't if it was on purpose on SH2, but it was like that from 1 to 4 at least, and it fits better than the newer dub they made, in my opinion.

  • @anprimgang1978 said:

It's not a phenomenal perk or anything, but I feel like it's not given enough credit. It has a 36 meter effective radius, which is pretty big and can be great on 24 meter terror radius or undetectable killers. Plus it gives exact locations of where survivors are at, which can act as a replacement or even alongside whispers. It's also an amazing perk on indoor maps because of how condensed they are. The only way to counter it is by using calm spirit which is already a very niche and underused perk, so it works in basically every game. Those are just my two cents, many people could think I'm dumb but I'm keen to hear what other people think.

When I started playing as killer, I tried it, because one of my favorite streamers said it was awesome. But it hurt me more than it helped, specially with the cooldown. Now that I have other perks, I don't really care so much for it.

  • Nah. Even so I think they're amazing. I mean, Resident Evil and Silent Hill both have atrocious dialogue and dub, and yet this is one of the reasons I love them hahahahaha.

  • @Midori_21 said:

This is just a fun idea I had and I understand that it's not the best one.

The clown can pull out a bottle while standing close enough to a fire barrel to change the bottle he's holding into a molotov cocktail.

If he hits a survivor directly with it, it injures them.

If it lands on the ground, it just slows them down like a normal bottle.

Cancelling your bottle throw changes the molotov back into a regular bottle.

Thoughts? I understand this isn't a perfect idea. But rarely do you find a "Perfect" idea here.

When you first said about hitting them with a molotov, I thought it would be something like a one shot down hahahahahaha. It seems Clown is tired of the bs and coming for real after the survivors haha

  • That's why I love playing on console. No end game chat for me and I'm glad with that. Let's keep it that way.

And I'm sorry for wha happened to you. Wish people could also move on.

I'm bored and i thought why not think of doing some fun builds

I love aura reading, so my favorite build is something that grants me great awareness. This week I'm running Bond, Spine Chill, Windows of Opportunity and Kindred/Open Handed. I'm tending to drop kindred sometimes now, but it's really nice to see everything that's going on in the game.

For fun, I tend to use Bond + Head On + Vigil. It gets me killed everytime, but it's fun and I mostly am able to draw the killer away from my teammates and keep them safe a little longer.

  • I never understand these kind of posts. Too specific.

Ok so I'm a doctor main, and I would like to hear opinions about what makes him annoying or hated.

Hmmm, I don't hate the Doctor, but I think madness should reset to tier 1 when you're off hook. Makes tunneling too easy without much to do about it.

Oh, and the screams when you're down, because you can't get out of madness there too.

    For me, that's it.

  • This is my regular Dwight:

    imagem_2020-11-17_134051.png

And this is one of the main variations I use on my Min:

    imagem_2020-11-17_134244.png

  • It's interesting I also main Dwight and Min hahahaha

Lately I've been playing more as Dwight, because there are too many Mins around, but I love her nonetheless

  • I get it. I don't know if comforts you a bit, but it's also happening to survivors (low levels being matched against rank 1 sweaty killers).

Sometimes I just wish they let inexperienced killers get the inexperienced survivors and vice versa.

  • I was going to Prestige my Min, but I gave up because I'm not going to get all those perks again, specially since I still have teachable perks to unlock with like at least 5 other characters. And the item rarity increase is so small that it makes it even worthless.

    I’d add another:

The Straight survivor: This survivor does everything in a straight line. Their “W” key is the only one that works and thus that’s all their tactics revolve around, going in a straight line and never looking back. This survivor will occasionally unhook and throw a pallet, but -only- if it happens to be on their way. It is rumoured they take you sight seeing when you chase them.

Hahaha I tend to mostly run forward till a tile if the killer isn't Huntress, Deathslinger or a powered up Oni, because it wastes their time to catch up and I'm not a great looper. But I also don't look back that much because it's hard to look back and front all the time in console (I'm always hitting walls and dying even faster when I do so), so when I'm still not in a tile I mostly look ahead (and for that Spine Chill helps me to be sure the killer is still chasing me).

But windows of opportunity is helping in that regard too, of knowing where to run in to in a rainy day ahhahaa

    Sorry :(

  • As survivor, I love Open Handead, as I love using aura reading perks and it gives me so much knowledge.

As killer, I love Distressing (easy bloodpoints) and people are never sure of where you really are.

  • @Zagrid said:

    Why?

What was good enough to make you spend the money on it. And if you are willing how much have you spent on cosmetics in total?

I'm curious because it seems that BHVR keeps adding more and more cosmetics but I have only bought 1 and have gotten 1 battle pass in the past.

I bought one rift once because I like the cosmetics that came along with it. But I couldn't even complete it in time, so I won't buy anymore. As for cosmetics, I bought 2 outfits for Min and 1 for Dwight using auric cells. I don't regret it, because it makes me feel like playing an unique character, but they also suffice me, so I probably won't be buying again anytime soon. And... oh well, I like looking cute.

  • Most people can't handle these kind of situations. That's one of the reasons swf has been getting more and more popular.

  • I don't start a game without my faithful cat. Ain't nobody gonna jump scare me hahaha

So I'm pretty sure we all know the problem with OoO on Midwich, well I just had 3 of them, and I didnt feel like dealing with that so just went to a corner of the map and went afk, I tab back in, only to see them calling me toxic for wasting their midwich offering, they got to play on Midwich so I don't see how I wasted their offering. So now for the point of this, in this situation would you be upset you used a midwich offering?

Well, I don't use OoO, but I'd probably think "whatever", I guess. I like Silent Hill, so I'd probably be exploring the map in the free time.

  • @BugsGalore said:

I really lack the motivation to play the game. Survivor is repetitive and I'm bored with most killers.

Right now I'm maining hag, deathslinger, trapper, demo, and blight. Any suggestions for other fun / mechanically interesting killers for me to pick up? (excluding oni because I've been having major fps drops with him on console)

I like Pig. She can be fun at scaring people. But, well, I don't what to say about motivation... I don't have any either :P

  • @Yords said:

I remember many years ago (about three years) I was once a baby bill hiding in a locker when I heard the terror radius of the killer. I escaped that match. But not before I was hooked on the game. I remember that game, and how useless I was omg lol I did like half a gen if I remember correctly.

What about you? Do you remember your first games?

I started playing in June, because of Silent Hill. I have my first game recorded and, though I've seen videos about the game, I didn't understand it for real. I did a gen, I guess? But I died in my first hook because no one came for my rescue and my friend was being chased by the killer. Then he died too. At that time I still didn't understand what camping and tunneling mean. Ignorance is bliss.

As for killer, I don't remember my first game. I know it was a Plague game, since I loved her concept from the start. But I don't remember it and didn't record it either.

  • @necromonta said:

i cannot believe that the devs don't do anything against it.

I can't even go a normal game because of these kind of broken things (mori,tunneling........)

Played yesterday after 1 week of pause and I left the again, once again, enfuriated because out of about 10 matches I can say ONLY 2 there was no tunneling and/or heavy camping.

People don't seem to care anymore, they're desperate. I wanted to have fun, but it seems killers think we're still in the campfire playing roast your marshmellow simulator while in the match.

  • You know this is not going to happen, right?

I remember someone from the team saying the hatch, as it stands now, means hope for the survivor and... as long as the survivor is alive the game will still provide some kind of hope of escaping. And for me that's fine as it gives people reason to keep playing.

I still see this game as a horror one, not a competitive game (even though I know many people rather face it that way). And having this kind of hope (that might even be crushed) is part of the fun, at least to me.

  • I don't know about xbox, but on ps4 there are maps that I can't even see myself in sometimes. Tv brightness being set way high.

  • @Wesker09 said:

I know some of us hate running it, myself included, but I'm getting tired of games with no obsession and the killers just camp and tunnel like there is no tomorrow and it's getting old. Please just for everyones sake please start running ds more even if you don't like it

I don't play with at less than a friend now. The friend I usually play with run DS (and she is tunneled even more times than I am). I hate having to use DS myself, but I understand there needs to be an obsession in the game, so if she uses a character that doesn't have it, I use it. But I'd rather use my aura reading perks.

  • @Penfighter said:

As a Killer Main, I've been having some fun running this perk on Freddy and other killers NOT named Bubba. It seems like no one expects it and I'm getting some interesting and, imo, fun game play out of it. When I'm on survivor, however, I'm not seeing it too often (again, on anyone not named Bubba) so I can't really relate to what I'm seeing as a killer.

Recently, I have played a number of matches where Franklin's played a huge role in me getting a 3 or 4k. The most poignant example was this poor Yui who just HAD to have that lunchbox. She abandoned trying to get away from me in order to go back and make a play for it after the first hit, so getting that second hit and a hook was super easy. I found someone else and was just plopping them on the hook when she got rescued. I went down there (we were on The Game) to see about finding her savior when, lo and behold, there was Yui trying to get to her lunch box. She points at me, tea bags, and points again before picking up her lunch box, which she promptly loses when I hit her again. Long story short, she gets hooked again, I chase someone who was down there, hook them, and get a notification of the Yui being saved. I figure, there's no way she goes back for the med kit but decided, hey, why not check any way? Sure enough, there she is, making a run for it again. Easy sacrifice.

In other matches, I've literally seen things like a Dwight immediately doubling back in the middle of a chase to try for the flashlight he just dropped. Or the Meg who stunned me with a pallet, took a hit and dropped her Key, then proceeded to climb back over the pallet in order to try to snatch the key. Slap, down, hook. Less dramatic are the cases where people hesitate and look for a second before continuing to run away and more toxic are the 14 players so far who either suicide on hooks or DC because of Franklin's and message me about it. Here's a quote: "Franklin? Really? You are trash, your family is trash, plz uninstall."

What do you guys think? Where does the community stand on this perk?

I've been enjoying creating a little bit of a wrinkle in certain games that changes up how some of the chases go once people realize I am running it. I also like seeing those maps, keys, and flashlights hit the turf. Are any other killers out there running it? As a survivor, how do you feel about the perk?

I don't usually care for Franklin's as killer. As survivor, if I bring something I really do care for, I tend to leave it on the ground before the chase to counter Franklin, if it's in play. And come back for it later knowing the killer won't be able to see the item's aura and it won't fade away. If I don't care, the killer can take it.

I don't really think it's fun to be hit with Franklin's, but... it's one perk less I have to worry about on the killer (and that's why I don't really like using it). I have to say it's really powerful on Hag (it's really hard to predict when she'll attack you).

I had some fun moments though, as survivor. I pretended to go back to get an item and the killer went to check the vicinity of the item and wasted about 30 seconds looking for me (I was watching from the distance). These item camping strategies can be reverted in our favor sometimes, so it's nice.
