It feels fair when there's no one to save you and everyone else is hooked/down. You're also still down one health state.

It works as intended. A last ditch effort.

Also someone said it's more like 11% because you get 3 tries.

but if theres no one to save you becuase they are all hooked... the killer won? didnt he?

  • Trapper: 2/5 (dont like setup killers and so i never really play him)

Wraith: 3/5 (I like wraith and have my special build on him, but outside of this build i never played him)

Hillbilly: 2/5 (dont know how to curve propperly but its hard on console with all the lags etc)

Nurse: 2/5 (Its just too frustrating on console)

    Hag: 2/5 (setup killer)

Doctor: 3/5 (boring gameplay and getting ######### by the servers make him a meh character for me so im not interested in playing him)

Myers: 4/5 (arguably one of the weakest killers, but i played him alot and have some tricks on him)

Huntress: 2/5 (console hatchets will fly through survivors now and then so no thanks in learning her)

Leatherface: 3/5 (I played him a bit, theres not much you have to learn on him, guess well see after the rework if hes cool to learn)

Freddy: 4/5 (Im pretty good at freddy, know when to do what but who doesnt know that?)

Pig: 5/5 (I pretty sure I know what i have to do in every situation with her. Shes way stronger then people give her credit for especially at loops)

Clown: 4/5 (I like clown, he can be fun but i dont have mastered him)

Spirit: 3/5 (tbh i dont use a headset, im sure i would be better with a headset^^)

Legion: 3/5 (know how to play them but i think i could learn something more aout them)

Plague: 1/5 (I hate her concept, survivors need to do something for you getting your power... just ugh dont wanna learn this killer and so im bad at her)

Ghostface: 5/5 (same as pig, prett sure i know whats up with GF)

Demogordon: 4/5 (I could be better with his portals, but for his jump im pretty happy with how good i am)

Deathslinger: 3/5 (console spears fly through survivors, but not as hard as huntress. Im okay with him)

Pyramid Head: 5/5 (I love PH, he has many interesting mechanics and i played him non stop since his release, im on a 40 games winstreak with him and ill keep going, but i also think i have mastered him by now)

  • I really like to watch umbra (for chill and skill) and hexy ( for rage and other opinions on the game) hexy also does not care about the survivor rule book and explains alot. + hes always going for the win no matter how.

By watching otz i learned many things, but he is extremely nice all the time. Hexy taught me how to play against people who value the gens over their teammates. and how to deal with all meta perks.

Also both of them play many different killers

  • @Valor188917 said:

Even a single one except for his instadown addon? He's literally the same but in worse.

At least give him a locker teleport, it would fit the theme seeing him squeeze into a locker and come out from another would be fun.

with his recent buff clowns chase potential is actually insane.

Freddy has his snares, but he has to get peopl into the dream world first plus the snares are way smaller then clowns bottles.

Freddy has more map pressure sure, and i think hes overall stronger then clown, but if you want to have fast chases clown is now stonger then freddy in this cathegory.

  • Not denying that there are killers that hack, however Many survivors dont know ######### about the scratchmarks they leave.

You can see scratchmarks a good distance away and guess where survivors may hide if you get there.

if the oni is good enough, there’s not much you can do against his power.

of course, you can try to position yourself well and try to be really unpredictable, but a majority of the time it doesnt work.

though, i could be wrong. i dont go against good Onis that frequently to really learn how to play against his power to a top level, but it seems borderline overpowered from what i’ve experienced so far

I found out that he actually does good against survivor "meta plays"

So when somebody with BT or DS makes a risky play the oni gets more blood on the map, also its kinda to not heal wich leads to pools of blood on gens.

And even If adrenaline pops, he has an insta down.

Yes unbreakable counters slugging a bit, but not for ever.

So this "meta playstyle" makes him even stronger.

Maybe thats why hes good to begin with. Could be that hes weaker to other perks.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/169514/we-need-more-tension-in-the-game

I can get behind this, creepy music makes things.. well... creepy....

Music that you could monologue about a killer's backstory or a murder spree that happened 20 years ago to.

Identity V actually has some of these pretty creepy, nothing-intense-is-happening-yet tracks in its game. I think they're a really good reference for what OP is talking about:

    https://youtu.be/gTWGw4RLn7k?list=RDgTWGw4RLn7k

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRIfqhNFuWc&list=RDgTWGw4RLn7k&index=29

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8Ub4_KVGPs&list=RDgTWGw4RLn7k&index=1

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgCcH1pIXUQ&list=RDgTWGw4RLn7k&index=6

Imagine something like this playing on Father Cambell's Chapel:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXRxrfiQX68

Imagine a track played as an intro to each map, or there's a low-calm but subtly intense track that plays after a survivor has been repairing a generator for a decent amount of time, or a really malevolent piece of music whenever you enter the basement, or a unique track that plays whenever you enter the center building of a map like the aforementioned Father Campbell's Chapel, the asylum, or if you get too close to the warped and gnarled tree in the center of Shelter Woods (these would only play once per game as if you're just discovering this place for the first time), etc.

I agree with OP, new music that's creepy and for the calm moments between chases in a trial and other situations would work wonders for the game.

The best Games are the best games because of the soundtrack fitting so well.

And since the maps are really different in their looks I think a good composer could create something very epic.

I hope the Devs value Soundtrack a bit more, but they are on a good way creating chase music for every killer. Its the right direction.

I don't want Alien since this game ruins the immersion of scary horror monsters. Like, YOU JUST DON'T TEABAG THE ALIEN! Alien instakills you if s/he finds you. It just doesn't fit to this "horror"/bullysimulator game. Just no no!

I can see your argument, nobody wants his/her favorite horror killer to be teabagged.

But I have faith this game will be more frightening in the future and this future should include alien^^

  • @SweetTerror said:

Alien would be cool but I feel that it would completely break the game. When you consider everything that the alien can do, there's clearly going to be things that the developers would not be able to implement into the game. I imagine the best you could hope for would be an acid spit like the plague, a stealth ability like Ghostface, and maybe egg sacs that you could put down like a demogorgon trap.

If there's one thing that I think would complement the game really well, would be anything from the TV show Supernatural. I think Sam and Dean would work really well as survivors, and you have a plethora of killers from which to choose from.

Alien could be a non chase orientated killer.

Extremely small terror radius and maybe an invisibillity abillity. Egg sacs that work like trappers traps, plagues vomit etc.

Many abillities but slow movement to compensate for that, I really think alien could work out.

  • @Raven014 said:

Both would be awesome, but Springtrap might be more likely to happen, as the rights to the series are with one person, and that person is not Disney... who can be really greedy when it comes to their licenses.

I think you are forgetting Hag, Spirit, Pig, Wraith, and GF. They can be pretty scary when played well.

Wraith bell is so unscary its not even funny. Hag is not a horror scare, its just a regular scare (dont know how to say it in english but i hope you get what i mean) I dont know whats scary about spirit, but i kinda agree with GF and Pig. But compared to myers both of them dont look very scary.

GFs mask always makes me smile more then being scared and amanda is just too tiny to be scary and the Roar always being the same... dunno.

I would love to have a diclonius from Elfen Lied as a killer.

OMG that would be to hard.

I would really like to see lucy as a killer (especially young lucy) a child killer would be crazy, but a diclonious would be way to strong and had to be gutted down to be balanced. I dont want a super strong character to be weak just so he fits into this game.

  • Stop fighting guys XD my question is answered^^

  • I like this rule "whenever a survivor brings party streamers the killer HAS to farm, BUT first let the survivors do the objective so they can eventually betray the killer and leave without giving hooks. But thats okay because the killer is the killer"

  • @HuntressMain said:

That's you assuming your random numbers, so it fits your narrative.

Can I cherry pick numbers too and make killer look op?

    sure try it :)

But its not me who writes on every DS related post:" just chase the other survivors"

If you would do that my numbers are correct.

  • I completely agree, but to be fair its the same the other way around.

Nerf anything, people complain without reflecting.

buff that, people go mad about it without thinking about it.

Its not survivors that are not understanding...

    The Problem is:

    People are dumb.

  • @LastShoe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/167662/genrushing

    Let's say you are right.

Then survivors have just plenty of tools to protect themselfes from killrushing.

While killers can only counter genrushing by killrushing... but, survivors are already using perks to counter that.

So in the end both sides have an option, but kiler's option is easily counterable... which means that complaints about genrushing are reasonable, when you follow your logic.

I think If you play dirty as killer and the survivors play dirty and have all crutch perks in the world its an equal fight.

However what i see is that "killrushing" is viewed as a noob strat and "genrushing" is doing the objective. And i have to disagree with that.

    its the same.

  • I love surge, think its extremely underrated. Thrilling tremors is a good perk to. I agree with the rest for the most. Plague could be higher, she has two really solid perks.

So I actually like the idea of this thread but I have to ask how did NOEd, dyning light, sloppy and whispers not make your list of meta killer perks? I could almost see why dyning light, but the others... Just curious.

    Killer:

    • Pig: Spies, Brutal, Blood Warden/Cruel Limits, Trail of Torment
    • Huntress: Bitter Murmer, Spies, Shadowborn, Iron Maiden
    • Triangle Head: I already play him perkless
    • Spirit: I already play her perkless

    Survivor:

    • Autodidact, Resilience, Leader and Prove Thyself

Well noed and prove thyself are on the list^^

  • @Claudette_Baguette said:

My theory: Candyman should have been this chapter's killer but they pushed him back to autumn due to the movie being postponed because of Covid-19.

So they just took the killer that was supposed to come out in autumn (Pyramid Head) and released him now.

He just feels so unfinished though: His cage mechanic feels not right, there's lots of bugs (cage instead of execution when it's possible, BP issues, emblem issues, etc.) and the fact that they don't work like hooks feels not well thought out in my opinion and can be abused to tunnel survivors heavily. Also, tons of perks (BT, BBQ, Well make it, DS, Dying light, etc.) don't work with cages. I think they needed more time to address all the issues.

His ranged attack is also very clunky. It can't go over gaps, holes or different heights unlike the doctor's shock and survivors can abuse that on certain maps like the Lab especially or any other map with stairs. This doesn't feel right and unfinished.

What do you think? I think like he will get a rework/adjustments in the following PTB or a patch after that that will address all of these issues.

Dude, The whole GAME feels unfinished XD

If you say PH feels unfinished, what do you say to Nurse?^^

  • @bingbongboi90 said:

Wait why van rancor that isnt meta i think...

Well for killer; surge, trilling termors, sloppy, and last discordance.

Some of these Perks are not meta, but i think If I ban all the second chance perks for survivors I should also ban insta down mori things^^

  • @Mister_xD said:

why did you have to ban Iron Will Dx

now i actually gotta come up with something...

okay, the first 3 perks are easy, as they are already part of my usual survivor build:

    • Plunderers Instinct
    • Ace In The Hole
    • Kindred

now, since i have to replace Iron Will, which heavily restricts my stealth abilities, i will have to go with something different that allows me to get some other use. i was thinking about Botany Knowledge, as, if i get a medkit from a chest, i can get myself healed up in no time, making up for the loss of not making noise while injured.

However, other perks might benefit me aswell, especially those that reveal my fellow team to me i can go to when i need heals. Therefore i think Aftercare, Bond or Empathy would be good picks for that slot aswell.

now for killer, this one is definitely a lot more difficult, as you just banned away almost everything that slows down the game.

idk, Discordance is the only perk i can think of running 24/7 now... but without PGTW, Monitor and Nurses im gonna have a hard time tbh. at least PGTW and Monitor i run religiously on almost all my killers - Moitor could be replaced with Shadowborn though, that could work out. i still dont think i would really stand a chance against most without having any tool of slowing the game down (as you basically removed 95% of all the slow down tools i have), so maybe Thrilling Tremors, Surge or Dying Light would come in handy? however, im not a big fan of Dying Light, due to its heavy restrictions and buff it gives the obsession, aswell as its lack of earlygame pressure.

yeah im gonna stick with that for now: Discordance, Shadowborn, Thrilling Tremors and Surge. i would probaply not be able to play most of the killers i enjoy playing though, as the lack of perks to cover their weaknesses would make them even more unviable choices.

    Thanks :)

I have to ban the slow down perks because Without second chance perks of survivors it would be fair imo^^

  • Dead hard counters many killers.

    Trapper --> DH over traps

Nurse --> She HAS to miss a hit

Doc --> DH through shock (so his anti loop abillity gets shut down)

    Huntress --> DH though hatchets

    Slinger --> DH though spear

PH --> Dh through his range attack

Plague --> Dh through her red vomit

Clown --> DH for distance even when slowed down

Pig --> Dh through dash (which is easy to counter with it)

Freddy --> Dh even when slowed down

+ easy to use to run loops longer.

DH isnt good if you use it on open spaces sometimes it doesnt work and youre exhausted on the ground and if it works the killer can catch up and get a hit anyways. But its uncounterable if used for distance at loops.

SB Is valuable every time, but I think DH is better because it can be used for more then SB.

Let alone DH over traps is insane.

  • Ill start:

Im a PH main since he came out and will stay on him and this would be my build:

Whispers, Dark Devotion, Tinkerer and thrilling tremors. I would go for undetecable hits with my ranged attack for easy pressure.

    Survivor:

Dance with me, Quick and quiet, Fixated and Plunderers instinct.

  • @gatsby said:

Personally, I think its probably either

    A. Decisive Strike, Unbreakable, Borrowed Time and Inner Strength. With Toolbox

    B. Decisive Strike, Unbreakable, Borrowed Time and Spine Chill. With Med Kit

Thoughts? Other recommended builds for a rank 8 survivor that doesn't expect teammates to help out ever

This build implies that killers are tunneling etc.

I dont use Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike in my games because this Perks will be completely useless if the killer plays "fair"

Also usually everyone runs this meta build so I dont need BT at all. You know that you can unhook people without the killer being 8m away from the hook.

So whats the strongest build imo?

Sprintburst, Fixated, Iron will and Self care with a med kit.

    it allowes stealth and durabillity.

You have the option to actually outplay the killer and not just use perks ,wich have no counter to them, for an offensive playstyle.

If a killer camps I just do gens. This punishes the killer more then hook trading with BT and DS.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I like this suggestion, It makes it more threatening and gives you a second chance on cooldown, it would actually be the perfect counterpart to Dead Hard. The more I think about it the more I actually want this. It could useful on people who don't even miss often, as Dead Hard or a good juke can even sometimes get the best of us.

thats what its for, tbh actual unrelenting never helped anybody. MAYBE on deathslinger it could be nieche useful but thats it.

I think this unrelenting change could make killers like clown more useful. The biggest counter to killers is looping around cars etc. This would be harder with this perk.

  • @FGC_HELP said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/166577/unrelenting-change-idea

    This is bad, no offense.

Making it a one time exhaustion perk would actually nerf the perk intensely.

The way it is not helps people who miss attacks.

What if you were in a loop with your version of unrelenting, you swing and miss, they vault. Cool you've just wasted your perk because now there on the other side of the pallet and you are sitting at an optimal cool down of 40 seconds.

I think you did not think this through. What would this version do?

It would help M1 killers in loops tremendously because you could double lounge. --> this would shorten loops if you use it correctly.

The current unrelenting is a joke. 30% for a missed attack BUT if you hit an object (a wall for example) its still without the 30%

I would change it so it actually has its benefits but with a downside(cooldown)

Not saying I agree with this mentality, because I certainly try to go for a 4k every time I play killer but yknow I've not played much killer BUT

I think it has to do with greed, which is seen as like a childish trait? Like somehow when you let one go as opposed to a 4k, it reads as "That dude's a nice one." but then if you get em all, it's like "OH, you JUST GoOOOoOT to have em, eh?? It wouldn't have killed you to spare one!" n people get mad.

    That's just my theory, though.

But is there no ones reflecting his own playstyle?

    got to have em eh?

Never saw a killer be like "you all had to get out eh? couldnt just gift me a kill man"

    Its the same^^

I can`t even count the amount of matches I have played during this event and not ONCE have a killer let me or any of my teammates go. It’s tunneling, camping, bleeding out, Mori, NOED, Iri hatches ect. The toxiticy during this event is insane.

I got all the crowns on survivor and had no extreme problems doing so. Also Playing in Red ranks.

Also Its easy to get crowns against campers. If you really have a hardcore camper you can finish the gens fast because you have no pressure.

You know, If the event favoured survivors they also wouldnt give a ######### about the killer getting his crown. You know why i think that?

I have seen killers gift hatch to the last survivor many times, but I never had a survivor gift me a hook/kill at the end of the game.

I wouldn't say those are the ONLY possibilities. DBD is far from a perfect game. It would not at all surprise me if the game bugged out and gave him a ban much higher then it intended. I'm not saying it's super likely, just saying it's not impossible.

I agree. Theres so many bugs atm so why not a DC penalty multiplication bug?

  • @Tjiani said:

So... now that the killes have proven they are NOT going to play fair during this event, I Think We should agree That during the next event there is no reason to make things easy on the killers. I swear to God this is the worst event ever. Killers bringing in Their worst builds, Moris, tunneling and camping. You do realise They made it easy for you to get the crown so there was a chance you would play fair?

i Think during next event you should make it so all 4 survivors need to be hooked for the killer to get the event-item. i really Think it’s a ######### behavior and it kind of shows who the real toxic people here are.. Think about that next time you sit and whine about how toxic survivors are.

Maybe its the toxic survivors now playing killer who collect all the crowns and make miserable games for everyone else ;)

Because its always "ALL KILLERS" and "ALL SURVIVORS" nothing inbetween ;)

  • They finally could create a kill with friends killer.

If you have 4 walkers with no abbillities and 100% movement speed or something.

Also Clem would be extremely nice.

  • They have all the crutches themselves XD I dont get it.

Iri head is broken, but their meta builds combine are the same bullshit.

Seems like a fair game to me

  • Hey, So Im on Ps4 and I think Pyramid head is easyer on console.

I watch alot of streamers playing him and im 100% sure im way better then most of them as PH.

But I dont think im a natural talent or something, they are all on PC and im on Ps4, I get a 4k 9/10 matches as him.

I think it has to do something with his range attack being easier to use on console, however i never played dbd on PC so I cant say it for sure.

Can't slug in lockers? Why are you chasing THAT one survivor?

There are 4 survivor in the map, why are you targetting this ONE individual?

It honestly boggles my mind the reasons some killers come up with.

"They have God Mode, they're hacking, they have Unbreakable, they have this and that, they hacked old insta-heals, they're a SWF, they're stream sniping me, they're Karens, they're blah blah blah."

If you get DS'ed, sorry...but you only have yourself to blame.

    And I'M a killer main.

Also one of your posts was THIS:

And I'm done with killer at these ranks.

    I'm going back to 16.

Killers get punished the higher you go, and I can't stick to Nurse because servers are so weird.

Survivors is still much easier, I've been Rank 1 for months.

    Eh, oh well.

How do YOU maintain your Purple/Red Rank?

    XDDDDDDD

youre such a troll mate. I believe you that you dont get DSed at rank 16 :D

If a survivor is Doing a gen in my face and then hops into a locker and you cant punish this misplay. Then you have a perk that is abused.

You can touch them. You can slug them. This "invincibility" claim comes from killers who tunnel and then proceed to complain about getting hit with DS.

I don't go out of my way to use it, it just gives me security in case the killer feels lazy and does want to dart towards ME instead of the survivor looping them. I don't save it though, I haven't thought about it, I don't like gambling like that. Might as well use it than be the last survivor unable to use it.

Cant slug in lockers, cant slug the unbreakable.

DS has no counterplay against people who know how to abuse it.

But its fine now. I have pyramid head, dont need to deal with these second chances anymore ;)

You aren't being silenced for your "opinion", it's because the way you're choosing to present it is inflammatory and non-constructive. If you want the developers to listen to your concerns then you should elaborate on why you feel the way you do about the game and articulate how you would improve the aspects you mention. You curse out the game in the first sentence before even explaining why it is you are frustrated at the game.

In addition to this, why would you spend 700$ supporting a game that you claim is "[BAD WORD]"?

So If you articulate yourself well they will listen?

I think there are many well written and non toxic posts here and none of them are listened to^^

    just saying

The dumb design is also that it relies on the TEAMS. Plague crushes solo survivors. No offence, but if you were on my team, I would probably lose my ######### over it. Also, considering that most maps are open, it's very hard to dodge her. There's literally no interaction against a good Plague, dunno what you're on about. You'll only last remotely well on maps like Lerys.

Dont stand in the open then. I get your point, but theres counterplay to her vomit. if you stun her she loses her power.

Its okay you dont want me on your team, but if you get me you have to deal with it.

People force their own playstyle on everyone else. just play the game man and if you cant get along with randoms then form a team.

  • Heres the thing:

Against intelligent survivors Billy will be the better killer. Why?

If youre against an Oni he has to get his power. People who know this and play accordingly will genrush him while the people who get chased drop pallets early.

If you dont get a hit youre an M1 killer without power.

So you can say against usual survivors who dont play safe oni is better, but against really good people you will struggle to get a hit until many gens are finished.

This is because you can't run in a straight line for 75 seconds. You'll hit a wall.

That's why Survivors loop. Since a circle has a similar effect as a straight line would.

looping hasnt the same effect as a straight line. If you take a car loop for example, the hitbox of the survivor is smaller so you can cut edges closer then the killer. In some loops against 110% killer it actually results in being faster then them.

  • I would swap it for monitor because Infectious synergises good with it.

    Its up to you:

You want a bit more time? --> Corrupt

You want to play fast and get everything possible out of your power? --> Monitor

I like to play oni really fast, like a glass canon, if youre too slow you lose, if you do good you win with 5 gens left.

I play Discordance instead of Pop too, its nice if you have two people on a gen at the beginnign of the game, thats 2 hits which equals your power really early.

Even if it does not happen regularly, it happens, especially when playing as oni.

So not every DS is justified, just to let you know.

The perks isnt labled as an anti tunnel perk so every DS is justified, however this doesnt mean its balanced.

I hope you get what im saying^^ If you use DS even with 59 seconds in and 4 people hooked inbetween its justified that you get hit by DS because thats what the perk does.

Tunnel off first hook mori is as justified as getting hit by a DS after hooking other people inbetween.

But tunnel off hook mori is OP, just as DS is an OP Perk.

Its OP because there is no counterplay to it. You cant do you objective as killer (hook people) and You cant do anything against being tunneled off hook and then moried.

I just dont get why OP mechanics and perks dont get a closer look.
