tbh 1,5 year ago i moved from surv to killer because soloQ is unplayable, and i play enough games on survs to be on purple (my sanity allows me to play only couple soloQ games per month) and now im playing mostly killer,

as wraith main with only sloppy as slowdown, never killing before 7th hook, am i red ranks? nah, do i care if i 4k? nah give me my bbq and bp

but ofc when i see some piece of .... surv that only runs infinite window or runs OoO i make sure he wont leave game, but aside from that nah

if youre telling me surv is more relaxing because you dont care if you survive why care about outcome of killer game,

but if you find holding m1 relaxing, give yourself 500h of holding m1 and you will change your mind

Because I define Piping as a win. As survivor I dont need to survive to pip, also toxicity from a killer is much more easy to take then the other way around.

As a killer in Red ranks I need 3 10 hook 3k to pip.

Survivor is way more relaxing because mistakes are not punished nearly as hard as a killers mistakes

maybe there are so many threads like that because its a problem?

  • New offerings taht do something would be nice.

But pls not anything with gen speeds.

    I would add this:

    Killer offering:

Shows the location of all survivors for 5 seconds at the beginning of the trial

    Survivor offering:

Yellow one: shows you the killer locaion at the beginning of the trial

Purple one: shows all survivors the killer location at the beginning of the trial

note: NO AURAS, just the position like Rancor does.

As killer you would have an idea on where to go and as survivors you would have an idea of how save you are atm.

Survivor offering Green: Mori protection for you.

Survivor offering Pink: Mori protection for everybody.

    Killer offering Pink:

Hatch does only spawn when one survivor is left ( To prevent key hatch with more then 1 person)

Also i think EVERY offering except BP boosters should be Hidden.

A chest less in the game? why do people need to know this?

OK, so, drop the pallet early, or you're F***ed?

Any further constructive suggestions are welcome.

A good Deathslinger will beat you in a 1v1.

    Thats his only strength.

But He cant pressure gens at all.

Also he has little to no Snowball potential.

You can use dead hard for a save dodge of the harpoon and you can try to run out of LOS.

Many Deathslinger look on the survivors movement before they shoot so you always can pretend to be dumb and walk in a straight line.

You can try to not look behind and move unpredictable , not looking behind you means you have no idea if hes aiming at you or not so that makes your own moves unpredictable for both sides.

    Every shot is a mindgame.

Pallets are super safe against him.

Dont try to escape a chase, just make it last long enough for your teammates to do gens.

  • @bilaueta said:

Everybody knows that tunneling is a term that gets thrown around pretty easily in the community. But I want to hear some decent and actual stories of killers focusing on you for the entire match for no reason.

Once I got unhooked and the killer managed to hit the unhooker and started chasing him. All of a sudden its like he changed his programing and did a 180 to chase me. He was a deathslinger that for some reason didnt use his harpoon during the entire chase. By an act of miracle I managed to loop him for a while, and I mean a 4 gen chase. A feng saw what was happening and tried to bodyblock WHILE INJURED and the killer still focused on me for no reason (I had only been hooked once and didnt teabag once in the entire game, teabagging sucks).

Even when he saw an injured player in the middle of nowhere he still went for me despite me being in a strong loop. When he managed to catch me he hooked me in the basemment and when I got unhooked and again he ignored the injured AND DOWNED SURVIVOR next to him and went for me.

Worst part, he was rank 3.

Do you have a confusing story like this as well? A story of someone focusing on screwing you over for no reason? Its like they are pissed at you for something you did

So i guess the unhooker unhooked you right in his face?

If something like this happens I usually try to slug the unhooked person so that the unhooker doesnt get a safe rescue.

Maybe he wanted to do exactly this.

Then you loop him for a minute or more and gens keep popping.

At the end he wants to secure the kill because the other people are fresh and could easy escape once hooked.

    Just a possible explanation.

Could also be that he knew your name from a previous game and something was goin on there.

Or he just likes to ruin the game for survivors.

    Could be many things.

A story of mine which has been repeated abotu 100 times:

Survivor gets unhooked in my face, i try to go for the unhooker, unhooked survivor body blocks.

I wait until BT runs out and chase the unhooked person ( he/she clearly wanted my attention)

Kill the unhooked person in the end --> tunneler + ######### messages

This is probably the aspect of this game that pisses me off the most. Survivors in the healthy state that WANT to be hit so it HELPS them to reach these kind of loops where they cannot be touched.

Abandon chase, they heal, next survivor does the exact same thing.

Is the counter meant to be...to NOT hit them?!?!

So so so dumb and infuriating.

This is honestly one of the main reasons I play Clown: it’s much more difficult for survivors to pull this crap with how I play Clown.

I think this is really the only situation where I would prefere playing clown over lets say Pig or something XD

Brave though youre still on clown. I feel like he has not much going for him.

  • @Carpemortum said:

Then dont follow them, go find someone else.

If their entire intent is to keep you busy at the loop, they wont just give up trying to get your attention. However if you give in, they succeeded.

If you cant end a chase or see one at half decent loops, give up and find another survivor. Dont over commit.

im talking about 4 survivors who always run to the middle building on some maps.

Dont follow them? so youre telling me to leave all 4 survivors alone?

I know how killer works, im not new to the game.

But many maps have awful god loops wich are always in reach because they are in the middle of the map.

Had two games last night where I escaped both times and didn't PIP. If you play against a bad killer who can't do anything you'll get at best a Black Pip. Works both ways.

    Thats not the same.

Fist: I Depipped not black pipped.

Second: You can just let yourself chase by the killer to gain enough points.

Third: Its in the survivors hands bith times. You can slow down as survivor and get chased by the killer if you like to. In my example I couldnt have done better, if I would have tried to farm some points out of them i would have lost. Because the gates were 90% at that moment.

You cant compare it. This phenomen is killer only.

  • @Peanits said:

It is on the todo list. It basically has to do with the way interactions are handled on dedicated servers. You see them as in the interaction (unhooking), but on their end, they're already done unhooking and can no longer be grabbed. We're planning on revisiting interactions as a whole when we get the chance, and grabs are going to be a part of that.

So its not a top priority like for example Doctor denying DS?

In all honesty, if something in your game isnt working for month you should come up with a solution like disabeling grabs until they are fixed.

I would love to get a hit instead if grabs are not working, but with these bugs i dont get anything because im stuck in a bugged animation for a few seconds.

Also im not happy with your explanation, Im sure I cant grab survivors who did not start their unhook on my screen but on theirs.

It effectively shortens the grab time window.

I think this is merely an opinion I think keys are fine, as a killer if you don’t want to chance that run franklins and one hit and their key is gone. I find that killers 4K or close hatch more times than a survivor can escape with a key.

Moris benefit killers so I highly doubt devs will remove them.

Franklins is a joke. They will just pick it up again.

Keys are stronger then moris in acrually benefiting your points.

You mori a person? Brutal killer incomming.

    Key? Easy pip.

Keys need no effort. You can hide until your mates die and wait until the killer closes hatch and then run to it. No counterplay possible.

For moris you need to get hooks at least.

Both are massively overpowered and should get a rework.

Moris should have the condition to hook EVERYONE first.

Keys should have a 10 second cast time + only work for 1 person.

DS should be nerfed into stop working when hopping on a gen but give the opportunity too counter a mori(if its active while being moried)

    Both sides would be happy

I am not sure if that would be too strong thought but could be a idea worth^^

mending costs like 10 seconds. Its a third helath state. So there should be some restrictions

  • Surge+ thrilling tremors gives you BBQ and Infectious fright.

Surge explodes nearby gens --> someone is/was there

Thrilling tremors then blocks the surged gens + every gen not worked on --> gens with a red aura tell you where someone is even if its far away.

Sadly blocked gens dotn regress but i love this combination.

  • you shouldnt be able to unhook.

Double BT and DS wouldnt be abusable anymore.

Mending, vaulting and dropping pallets. Thats all you should be able to do in this situation

In the same patch they literally fixed survivors morphing into the hook and stopping most killers getting a hit, regardless of how it's worded, both things were unhealthy and unwanted in the game, I don't see the issue.

This thread is not about crying because the hook tech got removed. Its about the devs wording in the patchnotes.

The crane tech is just one example.

I can see the bug being fixed, but thats not my point.

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

They fixed a unfair tech. What's the issue?

    the wording.

The tech stream about hitboxes had the same issue:

"Dont worry, killers dont get hits they shouldnt get"

Problem with auto aim is not that killers get hits they shouldnt get, its that hits are messed up by aim dressing.

The wording of the Devs is the reason that many people think they are survivor biased.

These are patch notes, it should be mentioned that the bug isnt usable by players and not just by survivors.

Killers feel unheared by the devs and this is a reason why.

  • A Nurse with no add ons on the worst map CAN be stronger then the best survivor squad ever.

However it has to be one of the best Nurse players to do so.

Every other Killer will Fail against a coordinated team who plays competetive which means --> We want the killer to lose.

So why do people win against 4mans? overaltruism. If they dont care about hooked people until they are about to reach 2nd phase they will genrush every killer except nurse.

Moris are strong if there are weak survivors in the game who make mistakes and cause good survivors to make mistakes trying to protect them.

4 Strong survivors will counter Mori by not getting downed a second time.

You could do the maths of perfect games I guess and im sure if you consider everyone playing perfectly it has the outcome of the killer losing.

Why? because killers dont get rewarded for Huge plays. They get rewarded for punishing bad survivor plays. If survivors dont make bad plays theyll win with ease except for nurse. Because she is the only killer where the system walks the other way arround.

I guess the best killer add ons + mori would be 3 hatch one hit huntress.

Best survivor perks would include dead hard for sure. You can dodge hatchets with dead hard so its at least one second chance against a optimal huntress.

Gens being done with toolboxes in around 60 seconds each are 300 total seconds of time a killer has to get a 4k.

In optimal games the exit gates would be untuched because the hatch would grant faster exit so one person has to bring a key too.

Hopefully some person who likes math does some crazy calculations. It would be fun to read^^

  • he should have a horse made out of shadows, gifted by the entity :D

  • @RakimSockem said:

This is meant to be a killer perk I'm assuming?

Also I think this punishes solo survivors more because they're more likely to stay on gens and ignore the person on hook thinking that someone else is going for the save.

Yes its a killer perk. But it encourages survivors being saved so thats a healthy thing i think.

It could also be a hex perk i guess because it could be that 2 or 3 survivors are exposed at once.

  • Thx for all the answers. Guess next time i really need to let someone live and unhook the others. Thats really nice XD

  • sluggin = slowing the game down.

Downed survivors dont do gens so it benefits the killer.

    Camping = situational

If you facecamp your first hook? bad idea --> you will lose against good survivors

Camping after seeing they immediately unhook anyways? --> do it. No ones doing gens, if you know they are already around you have no reason to leave.

Slugging is a huge benefit right now. just dont let them bleed out.

  • make him being able to break pallets while someone is speared.

Thats all he needs imo, you cant make to many changes at once, it could make him too strong

  • @mrdead said:

Yeah. Spawning right next to me and going right makes you the best killer in the world. Ya got me. Mad skilz bruh.

Its on you if you dont run away XD you can do that you know?

  • I like how some of these red Ranks used more then one exaustion Perk in one game XD

    Dead Hard 286

    Lithe 137

    Sprintburst 130

    Head on 165

    Balanced Landing 178

Thats 896 exhaustion perks on 412 survivors.

  • @Peanits said:

I do have one question, actually. If you total up the number of occurrences for each of those perks, you end up with 1,987 occurrences of meta perks. But in 103 games, the maximum amount of perks that could possibly be used is 1,648 (103 games x 4 survivors x 4 perk slots each).

How did they use more than four perks per game (each)? This is before factoring in any non-meta perks or empty perk slots.

you should be a Tapp main

Yeah, I have other challenges too, just sucks I'm gonna have to play specific killers for another 10 games.

Was really hoping it was known and there was a fix/workaround.

I never had problems with the pallets in a chase though. Hrmm.

I had no problems with your challenge, its just random if it works or not i guess.

  • Maybe its 130 survivors and they forgot a 0. But honestly it seems to be a bug, i think there were same problems with drop 15 pallets in chases challenge.

Just keep playing and pray it counts you probably wont get a fast fix.

  • I will be selfsh for adept challenges. At tome it depends on the quest. everybody needs to die in basement and i already have two people hanging there?

Ill camp the ######### out of that sutiation.

The weaker challenges are not as important. I wont sacrifice anybody bc I want the last hook to be saboed before the killer gets me.

  • 20200228_155017.jpg

This one im the oni and the meg gave me the picture post game. Tje gen wad 99.99999% and didnt pop, it was a 4k and 1 millisecond would have turned into a 2k. I love this picture XD

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/133752/why-ds-feels-unfair-for-killers-and-not-for-survivors

If you are sitting on a gen for 50 seconds you are not finishing it you are simply doing a gen and dont care about unhooking.

Also what you are describing is not tunneling. They just happened to be there half a minute later.

Tunneling would more of a semi camping person gets unhooked and killers goes for that person by either ignoring everything else or semi ignoring (hitting you so you go away).

You could change DS to take situations like that into the account, but it would need to have access to alot of data and it would need keep track of some things like when you got unhooked, is someone else unhooked, are you being chased after being unhooked, etc.

I dont say its tunneling, but DS is a anti tunnel perk and the survivor in this situation feels like being tunneled by the killer.

Are you on pc? I play on ps4 and his controls seem stiff and clunky. Also it is hard to hit his demon strike with all of the frame drops on many of the maps.

I Play on PS4 too. Frame drops are a thing on every killer, on nurse and billy its more relevant i think bc if you miss its more punishing.

I like his dash controls it feels like youre running unlike billy where it feels like youre a bullet or something XD

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/133628/killer-chests

Haha yes! I love it! I mean really, why not???

But.... the only problem is - do we killers even have time to search for & thru chests during the match ? Not really , sadly.

Maybe a loot crate after the match ;) Instead of a llama it’s a corpse!

well i think searching for the chest would be a bad idea, but if you can find it ( maybe its like really well hidden) you can use 5 seconds to get a reward.

there are times when survivors dont have much time too because a killer is about to snowball, so searching a chest at this situation isnt a good idea too.

If the killer played scummy I can actually see this as legit payback, but in my case I hardly ever play killer and 90% of the time they all escape as I just play killer for some easy BP for a daily like chase survivors for 180 seconds or catch three people in a bear trap and my rank as killer is so low I never see the survivors I faced as a killer in my survivor lobby. They just wanted to be jerks and get the person not in their group killed which is stupid as it just makes it more likely the killer will win. If you played it straight as a killer I see no reason for them to bully you like that, but if you hard camped or tunneled the entire game...then in that case yeah you probably deserved it.

legit payback? youre kidding. A killer can do nothing that would give a reason to do this except bodyblocking you in a corner so you have to dc.

the tolerance of toxicity. I think since most survivors at high ranks are potatoes anyways the balance doesnt even matter that much, but the toxicity should be more looked at. If someone tells you to ######### in post game chat "just close the chat" isnt the answer.

Post game chat toxicity happens way to often to believe reporting them would matter.

  • Heart attack - if a survivor is in dying state while the gates are powered he dies.

Mental health care - When survivors bully the killer for 3/2/1 minutes he can get a place in the asylum for free.

Broken WIll - Healthy survivors are thrilled by your presence if you come close to them. Survivors in 8/12/16 meters near to you scream frequently.

  • @Peanits said:

I'm not quite sure how that would work. If it automatically equips it, you'd end up with three add-ons, and the game doesn't support that. If it only rewarded it to you after the game, it might be a bit detrimental to the killer to stop and search it for no benefit in that match.

So what about add on boosters?

    1. you could get a second add on if you have only one equipped
    2. you can get them for next match if you have 2 equipped and still found the time to search a chest
    3. Some add ons are just stronger variants of others (wraith windstorm for example), if you have lets say a yellow windstorm equipped and another one it could give you a better one for example green.
    4. one use mini perks (next time you down a survivor everybody in 32m radius screams, next 3 pallets you kick are destroyed 20% faster) etc.

Its just an idea, i kinda like the idea to have a killer chest, as survivor its alsways intense if you get what you wanted, killers should have this too^^

That's not how usage rate works. Those two people using DS doesn't let the other two people stun the killer.

DS has a paywall, Ruin didnt. Make DS a free perk and then its comparable. 46% for a perk you have to pay real money for is unreal.

  • @venom12784 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1124953#Comment_1124953

I wouldn't boil it down to something so simple. Classifying things as "buff X" or "nerf Y" turns things into us vs. them, and that never leads anywhere productive. In this case, we're talking about something that would widen the SWF skill gap- something I'm sure we all agree isn't ideal. You want to minimize that gap as much as possible so it's easier to balance around, not make it bigger.

Well I agree, but what was the solution to this? "balancing around" would mean something got changed, but in this case it just sayed as it was.

  • @Peanits said:

I'm not sure if that would really be necessary. Killers do already get more points than survivors the vast majority of the time. Bundled with the fact that BBQ stacks are easier to get than WGLF stacks and you already get a huge amount of bloodpoints when playing killer.

BBQ is harder imo, for wglf you have to get hit while the killer is carrying someone, thats not a tough job.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1124890#Comment_1124890

You may want to read that again. I did explicitly mention "We don't want to widen that gap anymore than it already is." That's not making it sound like it's not a thing at all.

The point being, just because there's already a gap isn't a sound reason to intentionally make that gap bigger. That only makes it worse, not better.

So in a kinda "Buff killer" post... the answer is no because it would not nerf all survivors equally?

So you discussed that 99% could be a problem but decided against a helpful tool for killers because of survivor balance issues and the solution to the problem is killers gettting nothing?

  • @hex_genrush said:

Yikes they obviously don’t deserve to be in red ranks of over 40% are using self care what a potato play

But i Agree, 32 seconds in a corner is a potato play

  • Im a Rank 1 Survivor atm and yesterday i got 2 rank 20 killers with no perks or addons equipped --> First time killer players.

The other survivors were around rank 16 in one game, the other had a rank 12 a rank 18 and a rank 8 + me.

    Yes Killer is fun :)

I hear whispers is a popular perk for this very reason.

I have had a situation like this while playing Legion. I legit went afk to make cup noodles and took my headset with me. When I heard a gen pop I returned and knew roughly where to look, and eventually found one person, ended the chase, closed hatch, killed the last guy.

I think the only side that can hold a game hostage is killer more so than survivor

Whispers is great for that, just too bad i cant equip it mid game ^^'

  • Because you dont have enough time in a game to "waste" all perk slots on detection Perks.

Another thing would be the option to hide behind gen auras.

  • The Yamaoka maps are way too dark on PS4 with graphics you cant change. You get lobbys where they last second switch to claudettes with a yamaoka map offering and you cant see Bad word.

As survivor I like every map, however i think many people have problem to locate anything on the Game map, so i guess its this one bc of teammates having no clue where to go

1 … 4 5 6 7 8
