I've always wanted a killer perk similar to dead hard, like press the activation button and get a short boost of speed or something. Of course you won't have an exhaustion timer, instead it should require you to do something like hook X survivors similar to what you need to activate spirit fury.

Yeah, or a Perk that Triggers when somebody gets exausted in a chase.

"Their heavy breathing increased your hunger for Blood"

Everytime a survivor gets exausted while in a Chase you immediately gain Bloodlust 1/2/3

Good luck in getting Adept Plague!!!

I already have that, thanks to I break i took i was rank 17 when i played again. Took this chance to do all adept achievements.

Vut it shouldnt go this way, so gl to anyone trying it in Red ranks.

Pipping is overrated (don’t tell that to Tru3, though).

If I 4K I see that as a win, Merciless or Brutal doesn’t matter to me.

I can see that, but i find it frustrating if the game tells me i played Meh when i sweated my ass of to get a 4k in 5 mins bc the survivors did nothing but gens

  • @Gorky_ said:

    Git gut ?

Joke aside, why do you want to pip so hard ?

Thats the only kinda competetive goal you can try to achieve. I play for the win, if the game says i lost then i lost. I want to be rewarded for playing good, I didnt this game.

  • @tortrader said:

Make it more fun for the other players and you will be rewarded.

I Played fair XD what do you want? the only more fun i could given them is an escape, and then i would have depipped

The survivor role is the role beginners pick. Killer is way more difficult in terms of stress and mechanical skill/gamesense. At least at the higher tiers of play.

im Rank 3 in a killers First Game. Killers are beginners too when they start playing. Im 16 Ranks higher ffs! THis could have been 4 lvl 20 killers vs me as survivor, that yould have been fairer then this

  • Nobody talks about the problem OP adressed XD. Its not about the win, its about survivors buncing back from a terrible performance by their side with help of crutch meta Perks.

You guys also complain about bad teammates in Red ranks, THIS are the people you complain about! ANd they are only in Red ranks because its so freaking easy to get there.

I NEVER played survivor, with the Archives added i started doing these challenges and it is unbeliavable how easy survivor is.

Finished all Survivor Archive Challenges within 3 weeks and pipped my way to rank 1 in light speed.

You dont even know how to loop a killer, you can drop 4 pallets before he is in range and 3 gens pop.

And even if you die first you will safety pip because he coulnt facecamp you bc everyone runs BT and he couldnt tunnel you bc of DS.

Even if you are focussed down the whole match you wont lose a Pip if you are not terrible at survivor if you run the right Perks.

As a Killer you lose the game because of a missed hit.

Im no survivor main, but i played it. Its a piece of cake. Killers are no Threat, MM is broken. I got a rank 20 Trapper with no perks or add ons, A first game killer player... and i was Rank 3... and it was today. If you want a screenshot i can add it.

  • @Archimedes5000 said:

The idea is ok and seems balanced, but I think it could have very unexpected effects on the gameplay.

The problem is that it blocks the window PERMANENTLY, completely disabling the loop for the game and it could change the balance of the area completely. Example: blocking Shack window or god window loop.

I think it would be very interesting to have it in game and see what meta changes it would cause, but it might be either too strong or too weak depending on map layout, rng and other, unexpected factors, so it might turn out difficult to balance

I Agree, but thats what the discussion is for, if you can imagine a game breaking scenario it would be helpful. I thought about that too and so i decided that survivors can permanetly see the blocked window would be needed to compensate for that.

But I cant think of a map where a blocked window that you could see before would be a game changer.

It would also have the killer make a decision to block god windows preemptively or use this perk mid chase to catch some body off guard.

It's a strong build, however I find spirit fury to be a crutch, if you can't loop correctly, you don't deserve free hits. It promotes bad looping. It's better to learn the mind games. Also, against good players they will preemptively throw pallets and it's boring and will waste your time.

    I go with:

Perks: BBQ, Sloppy, Dying Light, Pop.

Addons: Windstorm (green or purple), all seeying (purple).

    Alternative:

Perks: BBQ, Thana, Dying Light, Pop.

Addons: Windstorm (green or purple), Blind Warrior (green, replaces Sloppy)

Map offerings: (if I can, of course) Lery's or Hawkins. (you don't need spirit fury on those maps, since the loops are mostly unsafe)

Try them out, they're very fun and strong if you're actively hooking people.

I Agree that spirit fury rewards bad plays sometimes, but there are many pallets with no mindgame wich are very survivor sided. Spirit Fury is the only counter i can think of for this kind of pallets. and even if they use them preemptively its good bc for example shack pallet gone as fast as possible is always nice.

Make you choice also counters Dead harding for distance at pallets.

They should just add K&M support, then they don't need to increase the sensitivity

Its a console, you shouldnt have to buy K&M to play the game propperly on consoles.

  • I Have a late Game build on Nurse:

    BBQ

    Infectious Fright

    Blood warden

    NOED

Im not the best nurse, i like to practise her thou. In Early Game i have to rely on my detection Perks to find the next survivor.

But in the Endgame it really gets stong. The main thought behind this build was to punish toxicity because as i tried to learn nurse (and i was REALLY Bad at the start) I got bullied so hard.

    The Point is:

Its on the survivors to detect the perks the killer has equipped.

If i See a meg and approach her and she sprint bursts away, i keep that in my mind. if a person gets healed really fast after being unhooked, i guess the unhooker has WGLF and keep that in mind.

As survivor its easier, you have only 4 perks to track.

BBQ is easily tracked as infectious.

And if there nothin to see all game for other perks that the killer may have you should have the glorious idea to maybe find all totems.

You dont even need to do Totems against noed, just remember where they are! its completely RNG which totem gets NOED at the end, and if you remembered the spots of them you have an easy time to cleanse it short after all gens are done.

5 games in a row, I looped the killers for 4+ gens, after the killer finally got me for the first time he just proceeded to face camp me...

Dear Killer: it won't work, I know you're used to get 1k by doing this as a last resort, but if you actually pip up and go to high ranks, the moment you're facing a 4 men red ranks swf... It just won't work unless you're a red ranks Bubba or Myers with insta down...

Yes, all my friends and I have BT, yes, one body blocks whyle another one unhooks me, I take a hit, another uninjured surv takes a hit and there you go, either a DC or a 4 men escaped.

LEARN when to drop a chase, if a specific survivor is better than you BREAK the chase and go for another one, face camping is not a good strategy against advanced survivors.

In my SWF, picking to face camp or tunnel = use my time on hook or chase to make gens, you'll save me after the last gen pops or after the exit gates are opened or 99%

So if everyone of your SWF can run the killer for 4 gens, he should just drop every chase? ^^

  • @Carlosylu said:

LMAO! I just made a post about me and my SWF using BT... It's called "Stop face camping..."

hit one he runs out the others go for unhook.

If you get triggered by pixels bobbing up and down on your screen, well I can't help you there. Why do you care if you are getting T-bagged? Just relax and mess around, it's really not a complicated philosophy. Or play Ghost Face and T-bag them back.

I didnt ask for your help XD just go on and give frustrated people the same answer over and over again. Humans dont like to be humiliated, thats common knowledge. If you dont understand that people can feel this way "well i cant't help you there."

My apologizes, I thought you were talking about in chase "tbagging".

As for your girlfriend, please remember, the rank matching system is designed to pull people 6 ranks below or above. meaning a rank 20 can be matched up with anyone from rank 14 to rank 20. However an important note here is that there is less rank 20 survivors than their are killers I believe. I can't recall if that is true, but I think it is. As it seems easier for survivors to rank up than killers.

Meaning if your GF is waiting more than say 2 minutes its most likely expanding her ranks from 6 to 8 than 10... May not always be fair, but its trying to get you into a game as quickly as possible.

I would personally suggest to her that she accept she is most likely going to lose, A LOT, at the start of the game, and instead of trying to get kills work on winning chases. The kills will come as she gets better.

The 6 +- rank system does not work. I had games as rank 12 vs four rank 1 survivors. Theres much evidence on the forum over the last month that 6 rank range just is not a thing.

And my girlfirend can deal with the issue, but i just wanted to remind that the ruin change was ment to be more Fun for survivors while on the same patch new killers were thrown under the bus.

The Devs didnt tell new survivors "accept to lose many games until you will learn how to hit skillchecks" they nerfed the perk (its a good nerf imo) but please why are new killer players different from new survivor players? why do the new survivor Players get special treatment?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1110788#Comment_1110788

I basically disagree with all of that... If you are getting upset at someone hitting "CTRL" which literally does nothing. It has zero impact on the game unless you give it power. And getting upset over it is the only thing that gives it power.

Now to be fair, when I started the game, I HATED, may even go as far to say LOTHED "tbagging" it made me so annoyed with survivors. After about 300 hours into killer, I realize the only person that gives "tbagging" power was me. I was the one getting upset and annoyed about it. I was the one stressing out over someone hitting "CTRL". As soon as I stopped guess what, it didn't bother me anymore.

PS: I would like to add one exception to this list, if you are a survivor and make it to the exit gate, please leave the game instead of spending two minutes "tbagging" I don't find the act of "tbagging" annoying, I find the fact you not leaving the game when you clearly can as annoying.

thats what im talking about tbagging at the exit gates after they won. Its frustrating as hell, i get it you won but instead of leaving they vault to make noise and make you chase them out. you can wait two minutes but its frustrating either way. I guess its about 80% of the games I lose where its like that.

And if you play it stressless you are more likely to lose --> more tbagging situations at the end of the game.

And dont forget matchmaking atm, my girlfriends first game as level 20 was against 2 lvl 15 and two green ranks who did exactly that.

Its fun that the Ruin nerf was based arround "unfun for newer Players" but what is matchmaking for new killers?

you can ask yourself why survivor ques are like 10 minutes+ atm.

  • @Jukenobi said:

Stop caring about piping and 4k's and you will have a much more enjoyable time. Just have fun, it will make it much better. Rank means nothing,

if you stop about caring to win youll get tbagged to hell. If thats wat you call enjoyable you have to be a masuchist. As Killer you have to be maximum focussed to even have a chance. survivors dont need to play mindgames to win, they just need to hold m1 and hit their DS skillcheck.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1082895#Comment_1082895

not a claim you can make, "losing" is not defined in this game really.

Oh come on. If you have 4 survivors escaping thats a team win. If you escape its a personal win. If you piped its a reward for playing good. If you gain a lot of BP its also a reward for playing good. Killers would dc if there was a bug that spawned only 5 gens instead of seven. Thats about the same as a survivor less for the team. If theres only 3 survivors early on the survivors have a disadvantage and killers who want a fair game should have the possibility to move on and do the other survivors a favour.

You wont play chess without a queen.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

I think this would kill the game tbh, a survivor dcing is super common so a lot of games would just end prematurely.

idk about you but I dont care much for a single survivor dcing and if I did, i would just die on the hook as soon as the killer caught me, which I would think is more fun.

Most survivors dont enjoy a game that you will lose. And killers find no fun in defeating 75% of a team.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Add skill based elements to the game maybe?

I never saw a killer moonwalk in a horror movie so nobody could see that he is comming. There should be other ways for killers to be skilled.

  • @Nos37 said:

What about offerings, items, and add-ons?

Get them back. I mean if someone dcs the other players get punished. The only one who should get punished is the person which DCd in first place. Its already laughable that you lose offerings when a match gets canceld before it started.

  • @Hsizzle said:

    like a surrender option?

More like a "i want to play a real game wkth 4 survivors and not slaughter 3 pour souls that got left behind by a DC in first minute of the game" option. Without a penalty for anybody left.

Survivors dc often and its boring for the killer and unfair to the other survivors. But you cant end the game without penalty and are forced to play agaonst 75% survivors.

Deadhard also doesn't work against one shot killers, does that mean it's less versatile than SB now since there are quite a few of those + noed is a thing?

Good players can manage their exhaustion really well and they typically don't bother walking either unless it's about to come off of cooldown mid chase.

Why wouldn't you want SB ready to go while working on a gen? That's literally a free escape from a potential deadzone when the killer shows up.

Just dont heal then and magically it works. As if sprintburst did anything agaibst one shots. Oni is faster billy is faster. Once downed you dobt heal anyways so you can use dead hard next time. Sprintburst is good but still no compairson to deadhard.

  • @AsePlayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1082079#Comment_1082079

Sprint burst has more potential than dead hard ever will.

You can let the exhaustion run down until there's one second left and run around with it, and activate it by stopping for a second and then running away to dodge a hit. It's a more effective dead hard that gives you more distance. I'm surprised you don't know this?

Red rank survivor doesn't mean a whole lot at the moment, as BHVR has literally said rank doesn't correlate to skill, so I don't know why you think that adds to your argument.

PS4 has recently had dedicated servers enabled and many people experience going down exhausted when trying to use dead hard. It's a literal side effect of dedicated servers rn, so I refuse to believe you "haven't experienced it" if you've been running dead hard for so long.

Sprint burst does bit make you invincible, you have to walk way more then usual. If you work on a gen you get exaustion back. If you 99 it youre not doing youre objective and this benefits the killer. You cant walk over traps or dodge hatchets. Sprint burst is a good perk but way less versitile then deadhard.

  • @KornySon10 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1082084#Comment_1082084

I see alot of the best players with sprint burst over dead hard. Dead hard is lazy and relatively easy to use, but as I said earlier, you will get exhausted on the ground in so many cases if you try to use it to actually juke a hit instead of just for distance.

I never bother to look behind me in a chase unless i'm actively looping. If I am just running to the next pallet it's not really worth doing anything except a glance to see how much distance I have on the killer.

I am taking when the survivor is just staring behind them nonstop when they are not going to make it to a pallet in time before you hit them, that's a huge telltale of dead hard.

So what do you do in thid situation? Dead hard for distance to reach the pallet. Thats a major problem i have with it. If the killer lunges early the survivor has enough time to react. If you wait another second the survivor deadhards anyways because of the distance. In this situation you broughz up theres no counterplay given. It is a free health state.

  • @KornySon10 said:

I didn't read this thread, but you can tell someone has dead hard because they are staring behind them while you are chasing them. If you get juked by dead hard more than once, it's your own fault.

Dead hard for distance is suboptimal, sprint burst or lithe will get you much more.

It doesn't even work when it comes down the miliseconds, because you just get exhausted on the ground.

It doesn't work against 1 shot killers.

Oh and i didnt read your comment but im giving a statement on it anyways.

Every good survivor looks behind them. You want to mind game the killer at every possible situation. This has nothing to do with deadhard but since most good survivors run this perk we can somehow agree on that i guess.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/128826/if-you-are-telling-killers-to-just-bait-deadhard-youre-actually-not-aware-of-this-perks-strengths

This just reeks of bias and it seems like your mind is made up no matter what could be said to you. Calling people who disagree with you "a red rank survivor who got that rank because of matchmaking giving you green rank killers all the time" is unnecessary and really off-putting if you were looking to have an actual conversation.

Deadhard is just a mediocre 99'd sprint burst to me. Maybe if the perk actually dodged M1's like it's supposed to, I'd rate it higher.

I also don't know why you bring up chainsaws like anyone is chainsawing injured survivors instead of M1'ing.

When people say bait out dead hard, I think they mean get the Survivor to use it as fast as possible so the chase doesn't go on forever. Not to just wait for the 5head survivor to DH while you're up their ass.

But by no means would I put dead hard as the strongest survivor perk. I wouldn't even call it the best exhaustion perk either, especially since dedicated servers butchered a lot of DH's potential. In terms of the strongest survivor perk, I think Unbreakable has way more potential to save a dead match.

Well i cant speak for pc. But on ps4 its still consistent. Also i play both roles, my survivor is a solid rank 1 atm and a year ago it was the same. I know how to abuse this perk. Sprintburst lithe head on and balanced landing have no such dodge potential.

But who does not bait it out as early as possible? Thats what happens if you chase someone. Its no counter to bait it. You have to accept that good survivors have another health state.

  • Killer:

  • Oh go to perks: bbq, blood warden, noed and the perk where wiggle timer gets paused if you hit someone while carrying.

  • Imagine Plague vomits on oni and hag finishes him of with her Mori :O

    sick images in my head

  • Monitor and Abuse, Nurses Calling, BBQ, Thanatophobia.

Monitur/nurses lets you see healing survivors before they can hear your radius.

Thanatophobia is just strong on legion bc everyone is getting hit very fast.

BBQ is just for BP, could also take Whispers instead if you dont want the BP^^

Problem is: Wraith, Pig, Ghostface and Myers tier l would pretty much be immune to ds since they can just chase you while being undetectable and after the 30 seconds run out they down you and hook you again, RIP :)

Pig is MUCH slower while croutching, Ghostface can be easy uncloaked if he chases you (even if hes undetectable your timer has 30 seconds, enough time to uncloak him) Myers tier 1 is extremely slow and honestly you could walk into him to get the timer paused, he couldnt do anything against it except from leaving you. Wraith is a point though but you still would have enough time to run to a pallet etc, wraith would be the only killer who kinda benefits, he only has to wait 30 seconds instead of 60.

This would prevent hardcore tunnelung, punishing it --> leading to less tunneling overall.

Both sides would benefit from that change.

  • But the killer does not have some last hope mechanic. And endgame could have been triggered if theres only one survivor left to prevent holding the game hostage.

  • So some people say this billy player made a mistake here and there and because of this the outcome (brutal killer) was reasonable?

The survivors in this video got insta downed most of the time! they made countless mistakes and it nearly didnt even matter.

some mistakes and a ton of pressure vs countless mistakes. and the clearly better player in this video didnt get rewarded.

    How is this balanced?

  • I really want to support this idea!

  • @Might_Oakk said:

BHVR opened up matchmaking rank range in an attempt to put a bandaid on the lack of killers playing.

It has really kind of backfired since newer killers are now being put off by the game because they are constantly facing much higher ranked opponents.

However survivors out number killer by over 4:1 so they are primarily concerned with their experience.

A killer playing this game for 2 weeks and got rank 14 peak is put against a 4 Stack of red ranks 80% of the games. "opening up matchmaking rank range" to what? up to 19 ranks difference? that a wide scale if you think about how many ranks this game has.

That doesnt work anymore because of gen speed aka ruin nerf. Only like %20 of the games.

Well Im not red rank anymore, im rank 9 atm and games are a bit less stressful at this rank although you get red ranks quite often as rank 9 killer... but i played about 50 games like this and the only time i failed my BBQ stacks was bc of dcs. Most of the time it works really well, but i play pig, so the game is slowed down every time

  • Iron maiden is a decent perk on bubba, nurse and billy. People often try to doge chainsaws and bait out a hit from nurse and releing on her fatigue to go away and therefore hide in a lockerfor a second. Iron maiden counters this playstile. Its nieche, but usable. Anither scenario is DC, inner strength locker combo. Also countered by iron maiden.

  • Deranking as killer is more then okay right now. If youre a rank 10 killer you constantly get a bunch of red rank survivors. So you should derank to rank 15 to get survivors of your actual rank. thats how Matchmaking works atm

  • or maybe a third gate would spawn? i mean if theres a pig you can tell before anybody sees the killer bc of the jigsaw boxes, this killer could be recognized bc theres another gate. I think it would be hard to fuse the killers to one at the end.

  • Make this perk spawn both basements and then the numbers change on each level of the perk like before.
