Often you lose one gen if 2-3 survivors spawn on a specific gen far away from you and it's the last gen you check because of a big map. It's bullshit. Literally not being able to stop a gen at the beginning due to RNG is dumb.
Also, if survivors spawn separately at the beginning and 3 survivors sit on gens and one survivor gets chased for a min you lose 3 gens (considering you take 20 seconds to find one survivor). With Corrupt Intervention that doesn't happen that easily but on certain maps and certain RNG survivors still spawn on open gens even with corrupt but it happens rarely.
-
This map is even more busted than the game. The game has tons of save pallets but once they are gone you can kill survivors easily. Also, if you don't break doors theres tons of dead ends which help the killer a lot.
Just had a game on the chapel again with 3 god windows... Literal god windows. I could not catch the survivor as blight (and I'm a good blight with a 50+ win streak) but it was impossible. They split up immediately and sit on gens and always sprint bursted or deadharded to save windows in the chapel, nothing I can do there.
This is so dumb, the devs NEED to fix the RNG on the window spawns, god windows should not spawn in this building at all!
-
Coming from a Hag killer: NO, its counterproductive.
The most important thing is to set up your web of traps at the start. If you use Corrupt, you force survivors to come to your side of the map, they annoy you and trigger traps early on when you don't have a web yet.
I don't mind losing 1-3 gens at the beginning, it's more important to get a good web going with 3-4 gens nearby you, I'm usually never on the other side of the map anyway.

The DS nerf basically consists of a series of actions that will deactivate the perk until you get unhooked again.
In this post, I'll go through every action that deactivates the perk, and why it doesn't affect the true purpose of using this perk: making the killer waste a lot of time, pressure and gens in case they decide to tunnel you.
I'll start with the easy/obvious points, and continue with the not so obvious ones.
- Cleansing a Totem: my dude, if you are doing bones you clearly aren't being tunnelled.
- Sabotaging a Hook: there are 2 scenarios, either you are randomly saboing hooks which makes no sense, or you are trying to save a teammate who is about to be hooked. In the latter scenario, you are not being tunnelled because in fact, the killer chased another survivor. You don't need DS.
- Repairing a Generator: 2 scenarios here again, either you are gen tapping which makes no sense during a chase, plus this mechanic shouldn't even be allowed in the game, or you are chilling sitting on a gen. If you have time to repair a gen, you are not being tunnelled.
- Healing yourself: if you have time to be self-caring, you aren't being tunnelled because the killer would have simply downed you.
- Healing other survivors: same as above.
- Unhooking other Survivors: this situation is kinda tricky, however usually means the killer chased another survivor, hooked him, and you are going for the save. Hence, the killer didn't chase you for a long time so you weren't being tunneled.
Overall this nerf has been a pretty healthy one for the game, and the perk is still useful against tunnelling.
If the killer, however, decides to keep chasing you after you DSed them, they'll lose a huge amount of time and pressure. DS worked.
You could sum up DS nerf as:
If you are able to make progress in the game, you are not being tunnelled, hence no need for DS.
Being healed by OTHERS doesn't deactivate DS, it should be fixed ASAP!
It should also include killer specific powers:
DS should deactiavte if:
- You disarm a trap
- You use your flashlight (to destroy hag trap)
- Cleanse yourself from the Plague
- Search a Jigsaw box
- etc.
-
Told you, you already see posts demanding nerfs to blight.
Removing J-Flicks would really hurt him and take away a lot of fun. It's a risky choice to go for the J-Flick, you might get stuck in the environment or completely miss and go on cooldown. It's high risk high reward that makes it interesting so it should stay if you ask me.
-
J-Flicks don't always work. It's not always worth taking the risk. So it's completely OK if you ask me and they give him something unique in his power that requires skill and is fun to play with and against.

The only thing he needs is his 180 flick thing removed. Otherwise he's completely fine. People may cry for that.
You think? I think it's fine, it doesn't always work and is just a neat trick you can try to go for. It feels great when it works and even as a survivor I can respect a good J flick.
-
@Mr_K said:
The counter play is the hatch that your teammates denied you.
If survivors can leave with a trap on then there would be no point in removing it with 1 gen left.
When the Pig tunnels you the hatch is just not working either. If she slugs me at the end she can just follow me, down me again and hook me. I can't get my trap off and die anyway.
-
There's videos showcasing how freaking long it takes to catch up to a survivor if they just keep running in a straight line. Even longer if they drop godpallets. There is no "skill" or "juking" involved, they just can waste a lot of time by pressing those two buttons because most killers are only 15% faster than survivors.
-
I don't like him too much because of his "mr. nice guy" attitude. He always tries to maintain this super positive attitude (altho he curses a lot when he gets mad) and treats chat and donaters like literal angels. It's just too much and seems too fake imo.
I rather watch people who are genuine like hexy or pug or zubat. For example I know hexy plays toxic sometimes and shittalkes a lot but at least he is honest and doesn't try to kiss everyone's a... and I like that about him. He is genuine and seems like a nice dude you could hang out with thats honest to you
-
Whenever I play Huntress I feel so cheap. I'm always like "What THAT hit?"... her hitboxes are insane, even with perfect latency her hitbox is garbage and should be adjusted. They already did that once but Huntress mains cried because they ACTUALLY HAD TO HIT SHOTS FOR ONCE and then the devs reverted the change.
The server latency makes current hatchets unbearable and considering how much a deathslinger has to aim it's time to adjust huntress' hatchet hitboxes again!
Left: current one
Right: Changed (accurate) one

Yes and I wish more killers would be so unique! Make another slower killer that relies on their power. It's better than throwing knives that take ages to down survivors, with recoil and just being a worse huntress lol.

This could have been a SWF lobby. That's nothing extraordinary. But when I queue solo as a rank 4 survivor in a lobby full of rank 20's that's completely broken.

Why does it matter to you if the rank 20 players are on console?
Because ever since crossplay got into the game matchmaking is even worse and console player lobbies usually have an even higher rank disparity for whatever reason.
-
Let me add that I literally wait in queues for 10 minutes as a survivor and then I get matches like this, how is this even possible? I mean I've seen some messed up stuff in my 4k hours of dbd but this just baffles me... 5 years and can't even make proper matchmaking with 40k+ players only on steam.
-
I usually loop the killer for 5 mins then get downed, see that no gens have been done and my teammates let me die on my first hook (:

Leader dropped HEAVILY in usage ever since they changed the icon to ONLY appear when you are doing an action. Previously leader would show up even if you are not cleansing a totem, repair a gen, heal, etc. Now you don't always know when someone has leader.
Previously people who had the leader buff would go on a totem next to them because its faster or heal themselves because they heal faster or go for the door... I wish they would change that back.
-
@Mandy said:
Leader is a really strong perk, I'm surprised I don't see it in more matches tbh.
How can you be surprised? No wonder nobody is running Leader if perks like DS, BT, Unbreakable, Sprint Burst, Dead Hard, Adrenaline, etc. exist which are just way more powerful and are second chance perks...
-
Really don't agree. Nurse's power design is great, being able to teleport through walls is fun! Not talking about balance (she is pretty balanced tbh) but just the design is simple but great and really unique. Also, the fact that she is slower than survivors makes her rely on her power, I wish more killers would come that work like that!
I don't know why Twins need a major rework? They do what they are supposed to do and their design is fantastic, I mean being able to be two killers in one is great.
Spirit doesn't need a rework either. She needs some small changes to give survivors more counterplay but her power should always be the phasewalk and I don't think the devs would every change her power, it's really unique too.
An example for a BAD design is Leatherface. His power can be easily abused for camping, facecamping, camping someone in the basement and he can deny BT because you can always down the unhooker first. Even if survivors get an unhook with BT the person can be downed in 2 chainsaw hits again really easily. Leatherface is just an insane camper and that's not fun for anyone.
Same with PIG. Her power design is HORRIBLE. Her ambush is the least usable killer power of them all, it hardly works on most loops and most pigs who actually crouch to be stealthy just stand up next to a survivor and hit them normally because its more efficient than the ambush attack (BP accumulation is also horrendously low on Pig, and why does she still walk to slowly while crouched?).
The WORST part about Pig however is , that she can get a FREE KILL with her traps. You literally have to do nothing but press M2 on a downed survivor and that's your main power. It requires no skill, most addons are all about traps and with certain combos a survivor will always die when they can't get the trap off in the first 3 tries.
Her being able to get a FREE RNG KILL is insane. I often played survivor and had NO CHANCE of getting the trap off because of bad RNG, big maps and the Pig preventing me from getting off the trap or catching me, hooking me and then I don't even have enough time left to get to a box. It's horribly abusable and should be changed to be a more interactive power.
Freddy's power is also really badly designed. The worst part is that Freddy get's a lot of stuff passively. Survivors fall asleep passively, you literally have to do NOTHING and they get oblivious which makes you an insanely strong stealth killer, most people get caught offguard so often and he has to do nothing to achieve that. He also counters BT completely which is just stupid and can just teleport to gens on command without working for it. If you want to go full BRAIN AFK you throw on the dream pallets addon and you just spam M2 while walking around the map and catch survivors on pallets naturally, there's nothing much you have to do but you get an INSANE amount of value out of it.
I know, dream pallets are not the strongest thing but on an average game against average survivors they are still strong. The main problem I have with the pallets however is, that you just spam M2 and have to do nothing for it and get free downs often.
Freddy, like Pig, should be changed to require more active work and skill and remove the passive (and RNG) stuff.

Another advantage trickster has over deathslinger is aoe. A couple of survivors in the basement will get decimated by trickster.
Deathslinger will get one shot or 1 basic attack.
Ofcourse huntress beats trickster in that scenario.
That said don't forget trickster is still in ptb. Killers in ptb are almost always on the weak side which makes sense.
Our community would not be able to handle a strong killer getting nerfed from the ptb. Making them safer and weaker in the ptb and bumping them up in the life version is the best way to handle it.
Only if you got addons, even then hitting multiple survivors 8 times is very unlikely. Especially hitting them 16 times if they are healthy... so no. that argument is really not valid.

Trickster vs Deathslinger is basically a machine gun vs a bolt action rifle. Each one will have its advantage and disadvantages in a given scenario. Also Tricker can down survivors at loops that deathslinger and even Huntress can only ever dream of.
Then tell me, in which scenario is trickster better? Like straight up better? There is none.
What are you even talking huntress and deathslinger can't down people at loops? You must be a noob to think that lol that's literally one of their best strengths.
-
Farmer John made a really accurate short video on the trickster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zE5gjZVDtiY
He basically is a worse plague (requires to hit you with multiple projectiles to injure you), except people lose knives over time, whereas they get injured passively if the plague pukes on them, also they get NO speed burst when a plague injures them with her puke, they get a speed burst if you injure them with your knives tho.
He is a worse huntress in terms that he just has to hit you 8 or 16 times to down you and you HAVE to keep chasing the survivor because otherwise they would lose stacks.
His design is so uninspired and just a worse version of already existing killers, really disappointing.
-
@Dizzy1096 said:
Remember when Deathslinger was on the ptb and people said he was bad at loops and couldn't get survivors down? then it turned to deathslinger OP no counterplay.
In general Trickster is better at more loops than Deathslinger. Huntress is still the strongest but I feel like if she came out on the ptb today people would also say she's easy to loop as they struggled to get to grips with her.
What loops are you talking about? There isn't a single loop trickster is better than slinger.
If you can hit over a loop slinger is better, unless you are talking about really big loops but on those its always better to break the pallet anyway, even as trickster.
-
@Dizzy1096 said:
I’d definitely take Trickster over Deathslinger. As for Huntress, she’s better but requires many more hours of practise to “git gud” with.
Uhm ok?? Deathslinger has a very quiet terror radius, is very forgiving because he can reload in a chase without going to a locker, he only needs one hit to damage or down a survivor, he has built in slowdown and a crosshair. Whereas trickster has to hit you 8 freaking times to do anything and yo have to commit to a chase because survivors lose knive stacks over time. Slinger can stop looping survivors because when survivor are speared they are stunned and can't drop pallets. He is WAY better than trickster in ANY way.

But people have fun with trickster because he’s different
I'm strictly talking about his power in this thread, it's literally in the title "in terms of power...". Yeah he looks nice and if you want to play him for his looks go for it, but in terms of power he is the worst killer right now.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Why play anyone but nurse?
Dumb argument imo. Not every killer needs to be on nurse level, but they HAVE to be decent. Right now, trickster is on the very bottom of the tier list.
Also, playing one killer repetitively gets boring. I played nurse last week for a good while and got bored as well. And good teams can still counter a nurse, especially with dead hard, ds, and other second chance perks and on a bad map for her.
-
Also, deathslinger can end a chase also MUCH quicker, and he has a built in crosshair if he is aiming. On loops you can spear them on an open gap and hit them afterwards, if you try to loop a Trickster, you have to have a really open loop, otherwise it takes forever to hit 8 times, and even then it takes way longer than Huntress or Deathslinger.
-
@DemonDaddy said:
Provided they don't nerf his ammo to oblivion, I think his upside is not being heavily penalized for missing. A good range killer for new players on any platform.
His ammo is fine. I mean he could have 100 knives and that wouldn't change how bad his power is. Knives only work up close because of the spread and most of the time you should just hit them normally because that's faster.
-
@Orionbash said:
As a console player I'm really looking forward to Trickster. Huntress isn't as forgiving as Trickster on console.
As Huntress you need to hit 1 shot to injure someone, have fun trying to hit 8 shots with RECOIL on top of it... Even if you land them frequently it takes much longer to down someone because of that.
-
@GhostMaceNotCrusty said:
Why do people play legion o er blight? Some people just enjoy one over the other
What do you mean? Blight is insanely strong, especially on PTB with fixed hud, theres players like Ascension which dominate heavily with him (just watch his yt), he will be a A tier killer for sure, if not S tier tbh.
Legion is still strong, his power is boring af but he can injure everyone easily and drag the game and eventually win. That's a strong power but it's just boring to play as/against. Tricksters power is just boring and bad.
-

You play the game to have fun, do you not
Playing trickster is some of the most fun I've had since I started this game
Wait until you are on live servers on rank 1 playing as him. You will not have fun at all. If throwing knives like a mad man and getting 0 or 1 kills all the time and getting owned by SWF is fun to you, go for it. I still want to be a strong killer that requires skill and not just spam a power that is just bad and is a straight up worse Huntress.
-
@Lexilogo said:
"just straight up better but it's a hex" is an oxymoron.
No, Fast Track is not a better Stake Out. Stake Out is fairly versatile while Fast Track mandates that Survivors die for you to get any value out of the Perk.
Self-Preservation has a comparable effect to Poised, but requires being nearby other Survivors which is a pretty significant downside.
Smash Hit is by no means a better Lithe. Lithe is better for juking setups and is much more reliable, but Smash Hit counters Spirit Fury + Enduring combos, enables you to get a lot of distance on the Killer, and can be saved to an even greater degree than Lithe.
I CAN agree that Starstruck is an overall improvement on Mad Grit and No Way Out is an overall improvement on Remember Me, though. Mad Grit was always a meme, however, and I think No Way Out is a much healthier take on Remember Me's concept, which always required some tunnelling to activate and back when its effect was strong, resulted in extremely painful Exit Gate times.
So, IMO your thread is a vast extaggeration. I think it's more like 2/6 of the Perks are like this. Personally, I would rather have Perks that are comparable to other Perks, and try remixing old Perk concepts that failed in new better ways, than going back to the Gearhead school of perk design.
Even if the hex only stays up for a limited amount of time it can get you a few downs, unlike bamboozle which hardly does anything. I much rather have a good perk work for a bit than a mediocre perk work the entire match that does almost nothing.
-
@Killing_Time said:
I don't think they'll buff his movement speed or his power. I do believe his perk for the exit gate will most certainly be nerfed. Bank on that.
Really? Its 40 seconds max in which you can just hide and that's it. I think it's just mediocre and not worth a perk slot either. I wish NOED would have been reworked like that.

"nobody reads the lore anyways". Actually, the lore is quiet interesting. The killers, obviously moreso, but the survivors stories are actually really varied.
Just because you don't like the lore doesn't mean no one does.
The games story is very short. Entity bad, takes people into its realm, endless cycle of trying to escape or killing and its feeding off the hope of survivors.
That's it.
Some character stories are nice yeah but most people don't really care. As long as you know a bit of a background (for example adam is a teacher) most people will leave it there and be satisfied. I am sure there is less than 1% of players that actually read the archive entries. I completed all challenges so far and never read any entry because I couldn't care less and I haven't found a single person who enjoys reading those entries. The cutscenes are nice hto.

Because it's not a bug, it's just flat out terrible design.
I'm going to try my best to explain the Chapel but I've had to knock something up in MS paint so be patient with me guys. I've drawn a diagram of the chapel depending on where the basement is, both diagrams represent what the maps look like once the breakable walls have been destroyed. So this is the optimal approach for the killer.
This is what the Chapel looks like when the basement spawns in the shack.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YKQE0MWM1C9C/rng-1.jpg
So you have a window at the top of the outside stairs, a window on the wall to the side, and a window across which is that part where there is a door and rubble. So to make it clearer the triangle at the top of the image represents this window
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Z7T9ZZAZLN5O/ss1.jpg
With this spawn I feel the window on the far right of the image is too strong for M1 killers. It's a 3-times-around window, and "mindgames" only work if the survivor isn't looking behind them or latency.
Now the real beauty is how the Chapel looks when the basement spawns inside the chapel...
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/G54V6WYRS4OG/rng-2.jpg
The real damage dealer here is the window next to the basement. Damn is that a strong window.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VKPWPLUWHZMR/ss2.jpg
You can go up the outside stairs, drop inside, run straight, vault the window, to the right and around, vault back inside, across and out of the basement window and then back up the outside stairs onto the inside. It's horrendous. This is old school DBD design.
Wow, amazing explaination, thanks a lot! I hope the devs will consider reworking this map or lessen the RNG on the windows.

"barely any" doesn't mean none.

I am gay and couldn't care less about a LGBTQI+ survivor.... Like who cares honestly they are fictional characters in a "horror" game and all of them are reskins anyway.
And who says some survivor characters aren't queer already? Who knows that dwight didn't have a boyfriend once? Maybe nea is into girls?
Like who gives a damn about that... The lore of this game is boring and nobody ever reads the archive log entries or other stuff anyway...
TBH I hate how goofy some outfits have become in the past, DBD lost it's horror theme a long while ago (elf dwight, box dwight, the onesies, weird santa claudette, onesie deathslings, cumogorgon, etc.). If they add like a drag queen or someone else to the game it would just be the nail to the coffin, that's Dead by Daylight and not an episode of rupauls drag race. Don't get me wrong I do some drag as well sometimes for fun but that not supposed to be in DBD. It's glamourous, sparkly and fun, like the complete opposite of horror but whatever... Goofy stuff over horror I guess, we can't take this game seriously anymore anyway.

Never said you couldn’t state your opinion. But so can I.
and your claim is not true. Almost everybody asks for not stereotypical representation. I think any representation is good, especially if it is diverse. So get me a flamboyant gay femboy. But also get me some normal dude that just happens to be gay. (I am using gay here as an example, can be expanded on anything LGBT+)
just because there are stereotypes doesn’t mean every representation has be be strictly using or not using those stereotypes. People should restrict the writers that way, straight chars are not restricted to be non-stereotypical hetero as well
As I said, we don't even know if all are straight... There is barely any relationship talk in the lore anyway so why should there be LGBTIQ+ lore if straight lore isnt there either like who cares?
-
@Mooks said:

Who cares so much about what other people care about though?
LGBT addition shouldn’t affect you in any way or form if you actually don’t care. And just by adding LGBT chars they don’t automatically add more goofy cosmetics like Dwelf etc. those are in the game already and that had nothing to do with LGBT inclusion.
also LGBT inclusion isn’t goofy at all.
Everyone is talking about it on this forum so why can't I give a statement myself? It has nothing to do with caring a lot about a topic lol.
LGBTIQ+ comes with stereotypes. If you just want to mention a char is queer in an archive log entry people won't be satisfied, they want obvious gay looking chars, maybe even genderfluid, drag chars or whatever. And if they make a rupaul candidate a survivor I'm just done with the game. Killers are not a threat anyway but imagine bullying a killer in a drag outfit...
