But that's not what they stated.
"This is what the Hit Validation Beta intends to fix: In situations where the Killer has a poor connection to the server, the server will step in and evaluate their hits to make sure that they are fair."
I have a 100% estimation of BAD CONNECTION to the server, their words. None of the hits I make are fair.
Hit Validation does not exist.
Even when hit validation worked, the hitbox of hatchets is just too big. As you can see in the picture I posted, the actual hitbox is far bigger than the hatchet. It doesn't make sense.
-
Ruin + Undying has a counter to it. AND you have to get survivors off of gens to make it work.
DS + Unbreakable require no skill and has zero counterplay.
-
Survivors don't want to change their behavior, they want easy wins instead.
I'm running distortion to get undying totems without getting interrupted and it works so well.
-
One thing I learned when playing killer: NEVER BE NICE
I 2 hooked everyone multiple times, went after someone else all the time, never camped and they all escaped although I played really well but everyone was on deathhook and not actually dead. I get called a baby killer gg ez when I play "nice". So ######### other survivors. I play to kill and win and don't care about if you have fun.
-
They are NOT useless, they can still counter a survivor's DS if you dont't tunnel at first hook. Also, it can save you lots of time when hooks are far away.
-
I hooked someone (he got unhooked afterwards), then hooked someone else (got unhooked when I left again), downed a 3rd guy and hooked him, then I found the first guy I hooked and the second guy and downed both of them. They both DS'd me... I literally hooked 2 guys after the first one and he STILL HAD DS. This is not tunneling... Complete BS, it should deactivate if you hook someone else because right now it doesn't counter tunneling, it straight up makes you invincible for a minute, especially paired with unbreakable (and this is from someone who plays survivor and killer 50/50 for 4k hours already).
-
Twins can be countered easily. If you down people with victor and they spread out its easy to get them up, since charlotte is on the other side of the map most of the time and the WGLF meta really helps too.
-
I mori'd someone as the Twins and the animation played (completely bugged tho) and then the survivor was not killed. during the animation I lost my head. The survivor said they could still walk around but not vault stuff while being mori'd. The second time I mori'd them it actually killed them.
-
They already make TONS of money on cosmetics. If they never brought out a DLC again and just froze the game they would still get way too much for their work.
-
I 100% agree with Scott there. The devs lost all interest in the game it seems. They just want to milk it out and get some money, they don't care about player feedback (Like coup de grace being real bad -> they nerfed it LMAO).
-
Adrenaline. Not having to heal and being able to pressure the last gen and immediately going full health for the gate is super good. Also, if you are in a chase at the end and adrenaline pops the killer is basically fked.
Most aware survivors don't need spine chill at all, not even against stealth killers. Good stealth killers can just look to the side when going to your gen and not trigger spine chill.
-
The addon on it's own is not OP.
It gets OP when it gets paired with infantry belt. Then it becomes the most OP addon combo in the game in my opinion.
-
It's not an infinite if a window blocker spawns and prevents an infinite.
True infinites literally had no counter to them.

I wish there was a downvote option.
I wish there were killers that play survivor and know how bad bloodlust is for the game. I wish there were killers with ACTUAL skill that don't rely on a band-aid mechanic to kill survivors.

Well do you want a perk that will be used? Or one that sits twiddling its thumbs?
I want balanced perks. The suggested one is passively making you a machine which is stupid. No skill involved.
-
False.
Really good survivors who can loop know when to be stealthy. Even with 3500 hours I sometimes lose survivors when they decide to stop running and play unpredictable and then hide somewhere. Or I spot someone, see scratch marks and they are just vanished. And they get rewarded because they don't get hooked. You have to play well to make stealth work but it's totally worth it if you can pull it off.
-
Sound has always been bugged in this game. Sometimes I don't make noise as a survivor while being injured without iron will. It's so stupid tbh.
-
Rework: After chasing a survivor for 15 seconds gain the undetectable status effect.
So it's basically unchanged because you gain bloodlust after chasing someone for 15 seconds.
-

Beast of Prey:
Your prey is clueless about your movements, and as the chase continues you become more vicious:
- After 5s in a chase, you gain the Undetectable status.
- After 10s, you gain Bloodlust*
- After 15s your Lunge distance is increased by 40%
These bonuses reset each time you would perform any action other than a Vault, are stunned, or lose chase.
*Bloodlust is a Haste of 5% that can stack with any other instance of Bloodlust.
You might be saying: Doesn't this make the TR reduction of Furtive Chase useless? It does. But Furtive Chase's TR reduction is already useless. It's primary function is an Obsession swapper.
So make it borderline OP and let you catch survivors without making any effort? LMAO I am glad you are not a game designer of DBD.
-
I loved the interaction of Appraisal and Pharmacy... It's not op at all its just fun to search chests quickly. But I think we can't have fun perk combos. We should rather keep running OP crutch combos I guess...
-
You should NEVER rely on bloodlust, and for new killers this band-aid mechanic is NEGATIVE because they will never learn to properly chase, learn tiles and catch survivors with their own skill. As a killer and survivor main I hope bloodlust will be gone forever soon.
-
I'll not buy it with IRL money, instead I'll buy it with shards. Usually I support the devs and buy the chapter (although I have 40k shards) but this time I will use my shards because I am really not happy with their balance decisions of this chapter.

The issue with your thanatophobia is that there are several killers were its completely worthless on because SURVIVORS HEAL ANYWAYS.
I have actively advised against his perk to a friend on death slinger due to survivors ALWAYS healing against him due to how insanely powerful his power is against injured survivors.
While it may encourage healing on survivors to get rid of it most of the time they are healing anyways making that part pointless and the actual generator slowdown is negligible which is the case for most killers.
The main killers where thana is good on is legion/plague as survivors healing gives them advantages(Legion gets extra slowdown and plague gets corrupt purge).
I feel the irony of the thana change was that it having the stacking healing speed slow encouraged survivors to heal when they'd normally wouldn't due to not wanting to have the healing speed slow stack too much for when they'd want to heal.
You must play on brown ranks because good survivors only heal when it's necessary, most of them have adrenaline anyway and just genrush until it pops. And if survivors heal its a win/win for both of them. They waste so much time doing it and I much rather have survivors heal all the time than not do gens lol.
-
The fact that the blighted rush hit doesn't work with all those one shot perks makes it bad on Blight in my opinion. Sure, he can get to the other side of the map faster than other killers, but if you HAVE to M1 survivors he is literally powerless. Not saying he can't get normal M1 hits but against good survivors who loop you well this won't work consistently.
-
@Almo said:
Main thing: RBTs are not designed to get you kills. They are meant to delay the game while the Survivors try to get them off instead of repairing.
Then Otz proved that you can easily get 1 kill on average with traps with certain addons LUL you don't even play your own game. Traps are a stupid mechanic that can kill you without counterplay if you have bad RNG or the killer tries a bit to kill you with it.
-
For anyone saying Hallowed Blight 2018 was the best Event: IT WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST!
It was nice that the devs tried something new with the cankers and the vials you had to fill.
But the game was UNPLAYABLE for 2 weeks.
Almost every survivor just tried to fill up his vial (sometimes only took the last 10% of the vial to complete it, so they had to go in a new game and suck a plant dry for 5 seconds) and after that they just KILLED themselves on hook to get into a new match because they kept the vial if they die.
Nobody was playing normally, they were just going after cankers and then kill themselves. Horrible and boring as a survivor and a killer player. I'm happy they changed it this year but I expected a lot more, an actually event to grind for rather without so many ways to exploit it.
-
It's common because it's 4%.
Every survivor can attempt 3 times. 3 x 4 = 12% for 4 survivors so 48%. Basically, if everyone attempts to kobe every second match someone will do it.
Let alone luck offerings, newly buffed slippery meat, up the ante, deliverance... Also, some archive challenges encourage people to bring those perks so they can kobe.
-
The actual nerf is not getting a second noise notification if survivors stay on the gen. That's quite a big loss of information with this perk.
-
#1 Play her yourself. Seriously. Give her a try, it really shows you how to counter her if you get good survivors. You get a good feeling of what she can do and what she can't do. For example if she is phasewalking for 4 seconds I know I can most likely vault the window in front of me because her phasewalk is running out in 1 second so she can't make it all around (without addons).
#2 Spine Chill, Iron Will, Sprint Burst, Fixated. If she tries to "fake" a phasewalk you can tell if spine chill goes away while the husk is staring at you. It also helps knowing if she is coming for you in a phase walk. Iron will really counters her if you are injured. And to avoid the first hit you use sprint burst, fixated helps a lot to mindgame her when she is phasewalking since you dont leave scratchmarks when you walk and you can walk faster.
-
They don't try to change meta. If they tried to change meta they would have to adress meta perks like DS, sprint burst, DH, BT, Adrenaline, Unbreakable, etc.
Making some bad perks less bad or "okay" doesn't help the meta getting changed.
-
He is quite stealthy in the movies so I don't get it either. Maybe the devs thought it would be scary to hear the killer scream literally every 2 seconds in the game? lol
-
Guys do you not realize it was NOT a survivor vs. killer torunament? It was a team vs. team tournament. So the rules applied to BOTH teams, even if it favored survivors it won't matter because it affected the other side as well when they played survivor so it was a fair match.
And if for example only kills counter and not the point system killer would just hardcamp to get kills and stuff which would be boring.
It was great how it was.

Title.
I've running that perk for like 50 games and this is just amazing:
- It counters BBQ counters.
- It counters head on, not fully but it creates huge threat to them and they will have to choose very good moment to Head On you if they don't want to get instadowned.
- It counters Inner strength&DS bitches who hop into locker, while threatening you with DS and Head On, then pop out healthy. NOT TODAY, GET DOWNED.
- It makes jumping into locker to avoid Chainsaw/Blink a literal death sentence to survivor, bc they just get 15 seconds of exposed and get smacked.
- It makes stealthy cowards` lives harder. Way harder.
- No more locker jumps midchase
Great perk. I'm glad it's not used very often, so survivors rarely expect that to happen and just get lost.
It counters nothing.
They just scream and you know that they are somewhere on the other side of the map most likely. The exposed status is so short you will almost never down a survivor with it.
They can still avoid BBQ, still heal with inner strength, and calm spirit counters it fully.
Also, if survivors know you have it they will play differently, so it will only help you a bit the first time they jump out of a locker.
-
Wrong. Billy was horrible in the PTB but since he loses heat when letting go of the chainsaw instantly it's much less annoying now. If you don't press M2 you always lose heat, when ending a chainsaw it's also instant. It's much better than the PTB even when the numbers are almost the same.
-
Getting rid of the increased healing speed for the obsession would make this perk viable. The obsession is still immune to the DL slowdown, they just don't get an additional healing speed.
-
I play really fair most of the times as killer but god it annoys me how often it happened that EVERYONE was on deathhook, literally 2 hooked everyone and then they all escaped and teabagged at the exit gate and told me how trash I was. If I took those 8 hooks I had in this match and killed one with 3 hooks and another one with 3 hooks I would still have time to kill the other two ones easily and win.

You've already said it yourself. Slug Billy/Oni is the biggest reason. Just slap on whichever speed add-ons give you the fastest 4-man slug and OFF YA GO! Or Feral Frenzy applying Sloppy and taking even more time to mend and heal.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1467046#Comment_1467046
Blocking Slug Billy/Oni from doing some of these crazy things does also seem like a smarter idea, and the only real change that was done for the lower ranks was the Ruin rework, but it was also ineffectual at high ranks and was helping mask other problems with the game. I do agree that Surge does need some love, but the low rank excuse doesn't hold up considering it's locked behind the Stranger Things chapter. The single most expensive chapter. Not to mention that the survivor perks from that set were also pretty weak.
WDYM stranger things chapter had some of the recently best survivor perks.

@Toybasher said:
Because devs hate synergy I guess.
I sort of understand why but at the same time, if a perk is REALLY good on certain killers (STBFL on Legion) it seems stupid to change it unless it's gamebreaking. I'd rather have perks that are meh but really good on one or two killers than a perk that is just meh all around.
Watch them nerf Iron Maiden to no longer speed up reloading hatchets.
STBFL on legion would be trash even if it gave stacks for frenzy. You ALREADY injure survivors. STBFL is only good if you get the first hit on a healthy survivor with your M1.

What killers do have an unfair m2 in your opinion?
Actually none. I have 3500 hours in this game, play survivor and killer 50/50 and can say that NONE of those perks would be OP if they activated with a M2. The devs are just afraid to make killers OP but we are far away from that...
-
@Veen said:
Legion, thats why.
No. Legion can't down anyone with frenzy so surge wouldn't be OP at all. Dark devotion would harm him as well since he can only see survivors within his terror radius but he gets the undetectable effect and can only see survivors within the obsession's terror radius. STBFL wouldn't be OP either since he still has to M1 you normally and you are most likely injured anyway because of frenzy, etc. It simply would not be OP.
-
Because devs suck at balancing and don't know anything about their game. Why do you think have they been making all those purple addons that apply hemorrhage? They are utterly useless, same goes for blindness.
Surge would be more viable without a cooldown and the M1 requirement, but they think it would be heavily op because of rank 20 games... But rank 20 killers don't have all perks anyway and can't down survivors fast enough to make it op either. IDK man, just learn to live with the bad balance decisions.
-
@Blueberry said:
Agreed.
Between having made it way too easy to pip and the new rank reset where you basically barely even move, it has pushed everyone up into ranks they don't belong in. It's extremely hard to down rank and very easy to rank up. These are part of the factors also making queue times so long.
It's insane actually. I hope the devs can fix it soon but they try to fix matchmaking for over 4 years now...
-
@thrawn3054 said:
Your kidding right? They already cut his nuts off. You want to chop his dick off too?
Of course in exchange for a better overheat mechanic.
-
That should be the case for survivors too to prevent last second switches.
-
It's fair. The point of this rework is to reward skill.
Instasaw was just a really cheap way to get survivors downed. Good billies don't need those addons and won't be affected by the changes either.
-

Well it was probably part of Konami's agreement that any part of his characters designs can't be split up. Including the knife.
Oh yeah I forgot it's a licensed cosmetic so that's fair.
-
Also, the new Nea outfit still clips on its own so the argument that you bind cosmetics because it reduces clipping. And why don't you just combine the head and top cosmetics? The pants don't seem to be an issue.
-
@not_Queen said:
@Redhawk_uk2 That's not the plan at all. We will continue releasing ''normal'' outfits like we were before. This new feature only allows us to make these out of the box concepts a reality
But why can't I change my weapon when using the bunny outfit for the Legion? It won't cause any clipping whatsoever, why not just bind the body and head cosmetic?
-
Why this addon is really bad:
You don't know when you apply the effect. A survivor can be hiding behind a rock and you don't know that.
When would it be actually usable? If you down a survivor with your chainsaw without others being around, why would you ever leave and go out 32 meters+ to find others and not hook them?? And only for 20 seconds? Doesn't make sense. If you want to down the survivor after being unhooked and leave them on the ground for DS this doesn't work either because most likely another survivor is within 32 meters of your terror radius AND you usually don't down injured survivors with your chainsaw either.
I don't know man... Do these devs even play their game and know that this is just a really bad addon? How can they seem to think this is worth a green addon?
-
Wow a NERF to this already bad killer? His cages are bad anyway since they spawn so far away survivors can immediately rescue most of the time.
Also, funny they fix "facecamping" on cages but not on hooks.
He is so bad already: His cages hurt him most of the time: Important perks like BBQ and Pop don't work, cages spawn so far away that when survivors spread out the cage spawns next to them for an instant rescue. Avoiding DS and BT isn't that big of a deal since you normally don't tunnel anyway.
His ranged attack can't co over holes or over different heights like stairs and thus it's completely abusable by survivors.
His BP are messed up and so are his emblem points. He is a complete mess and any decent survivor can just avoid his ranged attack and win against him.
I don't understand the nerf.
