I just played on chapel as a survivor and ALL windows were removed on the top of the chapel, there wasn't a single one, not even the god window next to the gen. And downstairs were 2 really unsafe windows...
So apparently you can have insane luck as a survivor and get every god window possible or not get a single good window at all... Like #########?
-
distortion?
-
@Chchchcheryl said:
Yeah it is way too easy to run the chapel, first time I tried it I ended up running the Oni for four gens until he left me. Especially if they don't break particular doors it becomes too safe.
The stairs with the breakable wall and the vault is too safe as to the left there are stairs and now more often the stained glass window or the ramp vault and to the right there is almost always that floor level wooden plank vault, not to mention the vault that usually spawns opposite it on the other side of the chapel. Even breaking the breakable door it takes too long to drop down that the person can just take the vault up the stairs. They even added a railing to the stairs which makes faking it as killer 100 x more difficult
I broke all doors and the god windows were still there which is the big issue.

How would chase perks help? There's to many windows for bamboozle. Sure you could eat pallets and breakable walls with BS and/or Enduring but you will lose by the time you kick them all.
Exactly. I had 2 addons to break stuff fast and this didn't help either.
-
My thoughts:
Pls not another young female, probably rebellious survivor with daddy issues... If it's a hacker it would be bad too because we already have Feng as a gamer/hacker persona.
We need something we haven't gotten yet: an old female survivor for example. Or more male ones, a sporty male for example.

Yeah I noticed this on the ptb, its like 2017 DBD with some of the window spawns.
Theres also one window which is a guaranteed 3 times around safe window.
The designers clearly have no idea what they’re doing. What a disgusting bait & switch. They fix the maps last year just to sneak in stupid windows again in the graphics overhauls
Glad I’m not the only one. No wonder the devs make maps like this... they don’t know how to loop and abuse windows but good survivors know that very well and that makes this map completely busted.

I mean you are playing wraith with no chase perks, I’m not sure what you expect. The majority of the maps in the game are going to be disgusting as a pure M1 killer. I play him as hit and run with sloppy butcher a lot of the time.
With no corrupt you should expect to get gen rushed unless you are very high mobility, and even then it’s basically giving up the first gen totally for free.
What chase perk could have helped?? Brutal strength? I already broke most pallets (had the addin for faster break speed and the one that uncloaks me afterwards instantly) but it was useless because of safe windows. Even enduring, spirit fury, STBFL, etc would not have helped. Bamboozle wouldn’t even matter because it can only block one window at a time and there were plenty of god windows next to each other. Also they could jump through there or balance landing off of a platform before I could get there.
Ofc I hit and run, otherwise I would have no chance at all on Wraith.
And what are you talking about corrupt? It wouldn’t have done anything because as a Wraith its easy to find survivors at the start of the game and tinkerer was way more valuable in protecting gens. Corrupt is super overrated if you aso me, it gives survivors more incentive to look for my ruin totem as well.
-
@SilentPill said:
Tinkerer wraith ~gags~
Without ruin and tinkerer I would have lost. Even with those perks it took forever because of insanely safe layouts. Top of the chapel had 2 completely safe windows, the bottom had 2 as well... It was so disgusting. The rest of the map was as trash.
-
Most games consist of stupid survivors who are afraid of gens or find them too boring to do. I always play solo survivor and I did an average of 3 gens in 6 games today... I don't know ######### my team is doing all the time... Playing immersed and crouching everywhere. In that case the game is pretty balanced considering you are facing an average killer as well.
However, if survivors have more than one braincell and know that they should do gens and SPLIT UP so they get more gen pressure... the game becomes insanely fast and is unbalanced, even against a good killer. Together with crutch perks like DS, 2+ adrenalines with comps, BT, unbreakable, sprintburst, a good survivor map, etc its even more favored towards the survivor's side.

Nope not a new player and with all due respect I can't help but feel that you're letting your personal feelings for this streamer cloud your judgement. Plus you haven't answered my question; what makes a player good?
It's about the stupid rules not him.
Many things make a player good: Being aware, knowing when to let go of a gen, map knowledge, looping skills, knowing when to drop the pallet, knowing when to go for a safe, knowing all killers powers, predicting their addons and perks and counterplaying them, etc. Just a bunch of experience you have to get to become a really good player. Most average survivor lack a deep understanding of most of those aspects, even big streamers.

It sounds good to me. Only 3 perks for killer basically, because they're forced to take Ruin, but that's alright. Ruin is the most consistent perk that rewards killer for pressuring gens, which is why Undying got nerfed because killers can't have nice things.
His is perma ruin only 3 perks LOL? Ruin is one of the strongest perks in the game and making it permanent is just broken. That's more like having 5 perks.

Yeah but with every single killer? So how do you define good then? Plus you've completely missed the point of im not sayign hes good just because he's rank 1, he's good because he is at rank 1 maintains it AND plays every single killer. There's a difference between 'good' and 'excellent ' surely you're not saying that at the very least he 'isn't good ' ?
If you have 5 years of gamplay experience you will most likely maintain your rank. A 200 hour player could do that. Even if you get 0 kills you barely depip because of the black pip. Not maintaining red rank is actually a hard thing lol. I know you must be new because you have that opinion.

Yes, because only 2 killers are viable in a tournament, because DBD is an unbalanced mess.
I'm saying IMAGINE a tournament where it was possible to play most of the roster, or more specifically, imagine a version of the game were things are tweaked to the extent were gen speeds are more manageable and this is possible. Perma-ruin would be one tweak possible within the current game that could be made towards that goal, I think true is trying to start some sort of movement to that state, with whatever means he can.
But yeah maybe such a game is just so far away from the current mechanics of DBD that is utterly unimaginable.
Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Deathslinger, Twins, Blight, etc ... are viable. Even against good survivors. People just play the top killers (Nurse and Spirit) but way more killers could play well against a comp team. You just named the bottom ones (trapper and myers) which would struggle. Other than that killers are fine.

They win way more often in the way that they chose is a win he wins in the way he choses is a win. wining in dbd is subjective I could look at your gameplay and say you are mediocre because you don't play the same way as these streamers that all play the same way but that isn't really fair is it?
Also you can not deny no matter how much you don't like tru which I don't even like him that much he has a lot of knowledge on this game. Out of all the content creators you mentioned tru has the most spread out knowledge some like otz or scott have it for specific killers like trapper oni or huntress but he plays every killer and is decent enough to help new players just by them watching him play.
What??? He has nowhere near as much knowledge as otz for example. Otz plays all killers, knows every addon value and all.
Tru3 didn't even know nurse was slower than other killers 1,5 years ago... He didn't know Soul guard gives you endurance even if the killer has no hex, etc. He mixes up things all the time and he barely knows exact values of an addon, exact values of a killer's power, etc. If you think he has good knowledge about this game you must be easily influenced by his speech lol.

We'll have to agree to disagree. He gets and stays at rank 1 with every single killer, thats not being mediocre. I'm not saying because he's rank 1 he's good I'm saying he maintains it while playing every killer. I dont dispute that it is easy to achieve rank 1, I'm saying he does it consistently with every killer and has done for a long time. That's not being mediocre
A 150 hours player can be rank 1 easily. That proves nothing. He plays for 5 years, ofc he is rank 1. If you play for 7 hours a day EVERYONE would be rank one. It's just a representation of how much you play, you will get rank 1 eventually if you play a lot. Doesn't mean you are good.

Uncleansable Ruin would be OP in a world of camping and tunnelling (i.e. current DBD), sure.
Or it would be OP in a world were most players are playing Spirit or Nurse against strong teams (i.e. current competitive DBD)
Is Uncleansable Ruin OP if you're playing Trapper or Myers? Imagine a tournament where these Killers are viable, and even getting 12 hooks
What are you talking about? Nobody would play Trapper or Myers in a tournament anyway, they only play the strongest killers so perma ruin is just stupid.

also Hexy uses Ruin on every Killer, you literally just said you don't need Ruin, and now are giving Hexy as an example. Wut?
You are missing the mark. Ruin is fine as it is because it can be cleansed. Making a rule for it not being allowed to cleanse is straight bullshit and makes this perk OP.

I disagree. People don't like him i get that but he consistently reaches rank 1 as both survivor and as playing as every killer. And ok rank isn't the be all and end all but even if you dislike the guy you have to respect his achievements. And I disagree with the hand holding if anything he's against it. He tries to avoid slugging, hooks as often as possible. As i said you don't have to like him but not liking someone and saying their mediocre due to this is not fair
Respecting him getting to rank 1? LOL Every decent player knows rank means almost nothing. I get to rank 1 both sides without even trying and so does everybody else. Why do you think are so many noob survivors and killers at rank 1? Because it's incredibly easy to rank up.
Also, I'm not saying he is mediocre because I don't like him, I say he is mediocre because his gameplay is mediocre. I've watched enough of his streams to know that. He misjudges situations so often, blames the game for it and then tries to talk himself out of the situation because he knows "everything" about the game.
-

I disagree.
Tru is a pretty good Killer and a good Survivor. He understands his role as Survivor and rarely de-pips.
He has eh gamesense but excellent game knowledge and mechanical skill. This means that he KNOWS what to expect and how to counter it, but his knowledge of everything else on the map may not be up to par.
I'm the opposite, I have awful mechanical skill (bad eyes and shaky hands) but I've got god-tier gamesense and good game knowledge.
Just watch any other killer main streamer. Hexy, Scott, Otz, Zubat (when he plays killer, he is a surv main rn), etc. They know much more about the game and win way more often than Tru3. Funny thing is that they complain way less as well lol.

I think you're missing the point.
He knows how important slugging is, of course he does, he plays the game all day.
By enforcing use of Ruin, I think he's trying to simulate what the game would be like if Ruin was base kit. I.e. Killers can stress less about camping and slugging, and go for longer chases.
But that's not what the game is about. HE is missing the point. He is trying to create a "balanced" version of DBD when the game to its fundamentals can't be balanced. And making a hex perk permanent although they are meant to be cleansed and makes killers even easier shows how delusional he is.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1966923#Comment_1966923
So then you've just admitted that your original argument means nothing.
Skill determines most of the stuff in DBD. Just because I 4k most of the time as killer doesn't mean I can't survive as survivor.
I got as much experience in survivor as I do in killer. But you forget that you rely on your team as a survivor so you can only do so much to survive. Most of the time I do 3 gens on my own and get lots of unhooks and then survive. Without me my team would die way more often so my gameplay helps everyone survive. And not every killer is as good as me, most of them are casual 500 hours to 1500 hours players and they are easy to juke as well.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
You forgot to mention the rules he made that make killers lose points when tunneling, camping and slugging occur. But typical killer main yeah?
If he thinks slugging is not a fundamental game mechanic he is stupid. Often you can only win if you risk the tunnel and DS if there's only 1 or 2 gens left. Same with camping, often it hurts you but in certain situations its a good option if you want to win.
Saying you lose points if you do those things makes me wonder what game he has played for 5 years ... if he doesn't even know the fundamentals of this game. Sluggling is a high risk/high reward strat, it can backfire with unbreakable or other perks or survivors picking each other up if you dedicate too much time into chasing another survivor and leaving the slugs on the ground.

I win almost every game as Survivor. It is unusual for someone to not escape in my games. Does that mean Survivors are OP?
No, of course not. One person's personal experience doesn't dictate balance, nor is it an indication of the overall state of the game.
Me too. I have 4k hours and I win with killer and survive with survivor unless my team is complete potato and the killer finds the hatch first or I get camped. But that's not in my hand.
-
To be honest, Tru3 is a mediocre killer with an ego beyond this world. He thinks it's always the games fault or survivors are OP when he loses. He doesn't accept any constructive criticism and doesn't fully understand the game and its mechanics to this day. He wants to win every game by having his hand hold by the game which is really wrong if you ask me. Skill should determine if you win and nothing else.
-
If you think a killer needs ruin ... idk what to say. I 4k all the time at rank 1 without ruin, the games are so easy.
I win 90% of the time. The other 10% are good SWF with a good map, good perks and items. Well I just accept that loss and move on. No need to complain about killers being too weak to be honest... You can win the majority of your games as killer easily so why complain about those few games where you just lost? Often its due to random bugs that caused you to lose a down or really good map layout for survivors, that's not in your hand.
Most people 4k really easily because most survivors at rank one are not that good and solo survivors are an easy 4k as well.

yepp I play killer more survivor funnily enough.
I will still disagree that keeping the activation whilst in a locker is an issue - that survivor is doing nothing, they can't work on a gen, a totem, can't heal anyone, can't do anything to progress the match. At that point if you've chased that survivor into the locker, it's pretty much going to be on the killer for doing it, you've got a survivor not doing anything - it's the perfect opportunity to pressurise gens.
You lose ALL of your pressure when they hop into a locker. Yeah they can't do anything but you can't down them and thus you have no pressure on survivors. You HAVE to leave them and if you are unlucky and can't find another survivor fast enough the survivors gets lot of gen progress... It's a lose - lose for killers. If you leave the survivor in the locker they can just go out and then do a gen as well..
-

Victor's pounce has always been buggy. A millimeter of elevation and you can't pounce, go through survivors, pounce at the air and still down...
Actually Twins is better to play now because of some helpful undocumented changes
I always thought Victor's pounce hitbox was quite forgiving. I didn't have to be right on top of survivors to hit.
But now even if I pounce on them perfectly I don't hit.
Yeah, the QOL improvements are really nice but the pounce destroys that all.
-
@Mandy said:
I personally like that DS doesn't deactivate in a locker...it gives the killer a choice, plus it means that survivors who are aggressively tunnelled will have a chance, instead of just being slugged. The killer can wait it out, risk Head On, or choose to pressurise gens in that time instead of actively focusing one survivor.
Have you ever played killer? Locker DS completely makes the survivor invincible for the DS duration and is stupid. If they get cocky and get the killer attention and the killer finds no other survivor they can force a locker DS which is stupid
-
If only Franklin's helped against keys... Survivors can just drop the key somewhere and then grab it again when the hatch spawns and escape, Franklin's can get completely countered by doing that and more and more survivors do that "tech".
-
They need to address the real issue with second wind to make it valuable. If another survivor heals themselves for only 1 seconds and you heal them for the remaining 15 seconds it won't work because it needs 100% heal progress right now. Hopefully they will change it.
-
Buff? The aura reading does NOT work on hex totems anymore which is why this perk was also really good. It could stop survivors from cleansing hex totems which is not possible anymore. It only shows auras on dull totems now.
-
Exactly. If another survivor heals themselves for only 1 seconds and you heal them for the remaining 15 seconds it won't work because it needs 100% heal progress right now. Hopefully they will change it.
-
I put the changed skins (including legacy) in an imgur album if you want to check it out: https://imgur.com/a/HX4T93B
-
Gas expands slower (big nerf imo), you lost the exhaustion addon and you have a bigger cooldown on being able to hit after throwing a bottle (got introduced with the recent patch in the live version). And they added more effects to gas exploding so you might lose survivors easier.
So if you want to play clown as he previously was, he has definitely been nerfed. The reduced reload timer and speed bottle should make up for it but I'm not so sure about that.

Dude it was obivous she will come to you and you kept sitting on a gen. You are not running a healing perk nor a medkit. You played poorly there, it's not on the killer.
-
They should totally get rid of the random aura effect when walking by a totem and instead have a survivor's aura shown when they start cleansing a totem. Make it work on hex perks too since they removed that part for some reason.

It would be good that survivors see each other's perks in the lobby to make things like deliverance work (maybe press esc ingame and show the perks/items next to the survivors like in the endgame lobby too).
-
Insanity. Absolute insanity how the devs think this is justifiable because it only "happens rarely"... IT HAPPENS so why not address it? There's a lot of "depip squads" out there who "abuse" the most broken stuff all the time. And not every killers is a 5k veteran (even they struggle against those SWF).

It wastes so much time. It helps in fringe scenarios only where you probably lost the game anyway. As killer, I would like nothing more than a team of 4 Self-care users. Yes, please handicap yourselves! I need that EZ game every now and then!
As I mentioned its equally fast as being healed.

I'm a killer player too with 4k hours in the game. Survivors who use SC effectively (under a pallet not at the edge of the map, not SC when a gen is at 90% next to them and other obvious stuff like that) are really scary to me. They can prevent snowballing a game and cause me to lose.

So, slower killers DON'T rely on their power?
So I should stop using blink as nurse, or gun with slinger?
My point is so simple I'm surprised you missed it.
Fast killers DON'T have to rely on their power as much as slower killers.
Thus, no skill is really involved when playing full speed killers.
I refuse to play against non-skill based killers, because they were going to win anyway.
Uhm can you read? I literally said slow killer rely on their power, so why are you saying that I didn't say that???
-
If a killer is at 110% movement speed they RELY on using their power. Imagine a pyramid head having to hit every time with his ranged attack, nah that would suck because it's not that reliable or good to hit consistently. Same with demo. Plague has a cooldown and other conditions to make it work in the first place so that's fair. Imagine nobody cleansing against plague and she moved at 110% all the time, she would have no power at all.
Every killer's movement speed is fine as it is right now.
-
Pyramid Head is way more annoying since they tunnel you out of the game and BT and DS won't even counter it. It's just a really badly designer killer in my opinion. I mean they designed BT and DS to counter camping and tunneling and they just make a killer whose power completely negates that.
-
No but this specific combo has ZERO counterplay.
-
@Ivaldi said:
How many times are you guys going to beg for a nerf? It's literally been nerfed over and over and over again.
That's false! The current DS is quite a beefy BUFF to the previous version. Now it ALWAYS activates after being hooked for a minute. Many times in previous versions you would not get the stuff off because you had to wiggle a lot for the skillcheck so close hooks completely got rid of DS and allowed the killer to tunnel.

There's more to game design than just "what I think is cool". It's a discipline that requires careful systemic thought about everything you put into the game. Being able to maintain a live game's design over time is just as important as putting cool things in. It's both possible and necessary to do both.
It scares me that people like you are in charge of making design choices for this game. It has nothing to do with low ranks balancing (they are pretty balanced, the thing people hate is rank 1-15 balance because there are players who are not completely new), it just annoys me that the devs clearly cannot play the game on a fundamental level and thus don't understand it fully and just rely on statistics they can't even properly read and interpret and ruin the balance even more instead of listening to the dedicated playerbase and longtime content creators of this game.
