  • You will get used to it. 3 gens in 2 minutes is a worse case scenario and then it’s actually pretty hilarious survivors will have the stones to complain you tunnel someone after that. I can’t tell you how many times 2-3 gens pop before corrupt is over but I’ll still get salty -reps for tunneling/camping/slugging to counter the gen rush. That’s why I will never take the complaints seriously.

Anyways, unless you are playing a high mobility killer I’d probably dedicate at least 1 slot to the early game. Discordance, corrupt, and lethal pursuer all can let you hit the ground running.

The best way to win is just to hard tunnel the first survivor you find, straight through DS. I typically run very strong 1v1 chase killers or 1 shot killers so I can camp people to death without having to deal with the second chance perk chain that comes with a last second unhook

  • I think it’s hilarious myself. Why not?

I’ve played killer long enough to know survivors will have 0 hesitations when it comes to bullying you if you play bad.

But after years of playing I’m experienced enough to not really take any of the guff and I BM habitually

  • @dspaceman20 said:

It's so weird. I understand if someone was being toxic. At that point you brought it upon yourself but I didn't do anything to the killer. I don't teabag at all and I try and be nice and they shake their head at me and hit me on hook.

Any ideas as to why killers do this?

I BM survivors out of habit when I win.

Why? If I lose as killer there’s like a 95% chance of teabags at the exit gate. Im just a product of my environment.

  • Distressing, hoarder, dying light, and predator are the only ones that come to mind. Zanshin tactics can annoy me sometimes too.

  • @Shroompy said:

Still rewards the killer for essentially doing badly

For how strong of an effect it has, it needs to be earned, not given

I think it should just tell survivors it’s active before the killer hits someone.

You finish the last gen, boom exposed and everyone knows. Then there’s plenty of room to go find it but also the killer can still use it to good effect.

  • He looks bad but his perks look good. It takes a ton of time to go into the power, launch the glyph, chain someone, and then actually walk over to them. And it barely looked like the chains even really slow them? Most survivors were not slowed down by the chains enough for me to think it’s actually a good chase power. And god forbid if you miss because then the chase is just over entirely.

Clown nails someone with a bottle and it slows even more, doesn’t slow him or make him lose distance.

I guess he has some tiny built in slowdown but I’ve already seen videos of people just holding the box all game no problem.

He can use the power for scouting but then again who really cares? It doesn’t matter if you know the locations of survivors you can’t down them quickly.

  • I play him all the time at rank 1, usually getting a 3k+. Pretty amazing killer, but the better the survivors the less the shots you actually take and the more you just drag the sword through every loop.

Usually against them you do a fake flick to get them to go wide and then cancel the power into an M1. Or you are taking every shot from behind line of sight or after you have dragged the sword around most of the loop so the attack path is covered in torment and isn’t visible anymore.

Once you have an idea of the cage spawns it’s super easy to find them as fast as the survivors on some maps; upon which you can just proxy camp it with impunity and take another hook state from whoever is in it.

  • Even if it did it would not be worth the perk slot. 3 health states makes nemesis a non ideal candidate for heavy slugging

  • 673E433F-8617-4BD6-8AD7-72E057183203.png

Looks like a regular day of DBD to me. I just got told to “die in a hurricane” which is a new one, courtesy of the salty survivors from 20m ago.

Personally I enjoy collecting the salt, I think I got over 350 -reps by now? Other games you would have to work harder than this for it

  • I thought it was just to play instadown killers, same way I counter dead hard

  • I’m not watching all that, and you conveniently leave out the endgame screen.

There’s plenty of DBD killer builds that are so strong cleansing all the totems isn’t feasible, especially in solo Q or on a huge map like RPD without dedicated totem hunting perks.

It’s not reasonable to expect all 5 totems to get done every game, especially when people like me, who don’t need NOED, have completely front loaded builds and doing dull totems is practically throwing the game

  • @Phasmamain said:

He’s pretty much always going to compete with PH and right now he’s the worse option

Unfortunately I have to agree. If the zombies actually worked on most maps it might be different but they are non functional on a ton of maps. They attack trees more than survivors.

Three health states is also crippling on any huge survivor sided map. If the survivor has an exhaustion perk (which most should) they get 3 sprint bursts in a single chase which is a massive amount of time holding W after them even if you have robot accuracy with the tiny tentacle hit box

  • I don’t see why Bubba is singled out here. Plenty of killers can face camp extremely well.

Myers with 99% tier 3, doctor can shock spam the hook, Oni can camp with blood fury up, anyone with an instadown addon can face camp, etc etc

Yeah, people really need to read the perks and addons of the killers before they run around calling hacks

Ah, I believe you're right. My experiences with using it on Hag have been less than successful though, I'll have to test it further.

I think she is the best user because she is one of the most likely killers to be going back to an unhook situation, which is an easy trigger for it.

It is also a death sentence to be injured against a good hag, and I usually run sloppy on her too.

So someone unhooks near you, you smack them and they eat the broken + mangled and are basically 100+ seconds away from being healed. It helps her maintain pressure a good amount.

  • It’s not terrible but there’s obviously better choices for the slot.

I find it to be the most useful for tunneling, since that’s the time when survivors are most likely to swarm the killer to stop them from finishing off the survivor.

Failing to mention Hag with this perk is also a crime. She’s probably the best user of it.

  • And to think I just barely 2kd on swamp as him because ~literally half the trees~ didn’t have collision and it kept losing me chases

If people wanna main him and learn all that I can respect it. I’m not taking the time to learn such a buggy power inside and out

Definitely and even without add ons the antidote can definitely be useful in catching up to survivors and around certain loops.

The reason people hate wraith atm is definitely his add ons. All seeing blood is just busted right now

On indoor maps sure. Outdoor maps I don’t think it’s too too huge a deal honestly since wraith finds people so easily as it is.

It’s kinda minor compared to the plethora of other broken stuff in the game. Like it’s an addon that helps but it’s not an addon that’s gonna straight up carry you (compound 33)

If clown was good there would kinda be a reason to hate him. He is pretty forgiving and boring to counter

Clown is good? He always has been. And like always, he is addon reliant.

But with some good addons and a good build he is a very strong 1v1 killer. Ether bottles and bleach bottles are both very oppressive in chase

  • He’s only hard because half the objects in the game have no collision; so you never know when your rush chain is randomly gonna make you lose the chase because you slide across a massive tree or something you wanted to bounce off

  • Nah don’t do that. Spend it as you level them so you get more double BP offerings to use.

Other than that basically just always run BBQ / WGLF and that’s as fast as it will get. Killers get way more BP than survivors on average and it’s easier to get 4x BBQ than 4x WGLF without throwing the game.

just forget it im sure its all my fault like everything is, all im saying is i dont need to resort to such "tactics" to 4k 🙂

It really is. I play survivor all the time and I never complain about anything the killer does.

Especially the situation you are talking about. The killer chasing you first, when you have ~the entire map~ full of pallets to work with. If you are going down at 5 gens so easily the problem exists between your monitor and your chair.

when the game has just started and you are hard tunneling me i disagree, you are deliberatley trying to ruin my experience. and no why should i? i am playing a video game and thus deserve a ######### chance to even have fun.

You don’t deserve anything. It’s a PvP game. The killer is there to kill you, not hold your hand and make sure you have fun. You make your own fun by playing better. If you are getting outplayed that’s not on them.

This is like those killers who come onto this forum and complain about survivors doing gens.

Why shouldn’t the killer try to end the game as fast as possible? Not only does it make sense from a competitive standpoint but the emblem system itself rewards the killer for winning with as many gens up as possible.

If you are getting focused out that early play better. It’s really that simple.

  • @Duke_Ragereaver said:

seriously, if you are that determined to ruin my game why leave? why not just stand there and watch me die. its pathetic, and before you say that "i dont come back just to tunnel you" then why do you ignore all the people taking hits and ######### going solely after me? i dont understand.

The killer killing you isn’t “ruining your game”. Quit being such an entitled baby.

  • Ignoring DS with Pyramid Head. Such an obnoxious perk before it’s nerf.

Being able to get hits at any loop in the game also helped

  • @TGB said:

Since we already know people hack their bloodpoints pseudo-openly...

I keep getting games where Killers beeline me, despite having no way to know where I am. (And I do mean, no way to know.)

Killers that track me through tall walls which I can see over only because of my 3rd person advantage...

Killers that hook somebody, and literally run a pixel-perfect straight line to my locker...

Killers that do all of these impossible things. And you can only call it "unlucky" so many times in a row.

I'm starting to wonder... if this game became GTA Online at some point.

It’s probably a lot less than you think. I know the spawn locations on many maps for example and can usually find people within like 10-20 seconds of a match starting.

If you don’t get into the locker quickly enough the killer can still see you getting into it with BBQ. The killer can also make a guess what area you are hiding in easily.

A killer who knows the tiles can easily predict where you are inside a loop. Especially if you are injured.

The fact I could go play on Xbox and ~still~ have people calling me a hacker over Xbox messages says it all.

I got accused of hacking instantly when using the busted trickster addon combo that got hit nerfed.

Been called a hacker multiple times when using discordance and deducing the location of a second survivor who hid when the first one ran off, etc etc

I see some but not all that often. Maybe once every month or two and I play a ton. More often than not it’s just salty babies making excuses for why they lost

  • Unbreakable. You should have to earn it instead of just getting it for being bad.

  • Probably because most meta survivor perks reward failure and it rarely feels like you got outplayed. Oh, I’m playing like crap and keep going down in 10 seconds? It’s fine I have perks for that.

At least Killer meta perks require some input from the killer for the most part. Ruin / Undying / Pop / etc do nothing if the killer isn’t getting fast downs.

The game will always remain a joke at “high level” play when 3 gens can get done in 2 minutes and survivors have such a massive pile of get out of jail free cards to crutch on.

There’s nothing stopping the gen rush + god pallets really. But you want to kill rush? No you can’t do that without eating like 4 extra lives in the form of perks first

Funny, that's usually the build I run with Bubba. LOL I used to like running brutal strength, but if you're running Enduring, it just seems to make brutal strength a moot point. I don't know know, that's just me I guess.

With a few killers specifically I like brutal over enduring. Clown is definitely one since people predrop against him so much. He also benefits from it even more than other killers since he can use the antidote on himself while breaking a pallet.

But for your run of the mill M1 killer id do enduring sure. Enduring Bamboozle is my go to for them.

Some maps I’d also do crowd control. It’s really good on Lerys and RPD. Crowd control makes RPD sooo much less painful when it’s up because there are some insane windows on that map but a few M1 killers still want to go there (namely pig and wraith)

Yes, it is optimal. Every Killer has an optimal build, and Blight is a good Killer. I fail to see an issue when 2 of his perks can go within 20 seconds of the game.

Because that rarely happens? And I don’t have any issue with it at all other than the fact it’s hideous to go against as a solo Q but I usually just play killer when I’m solo and bypass that issue entirely! Solo Q gets to kick dirt anyways, if it wasn’t blight it would be someone else doing the stomping.

But if you HAVE to run that build to find success you are probably just bad at blight. I don’t use it because as you said, it ~could~ be gone in 20 seconds and that does happen like once in 50 games. And that conveniently ignores the games it stays up literally the whole time, which is waaay more than the games it’s dead instantly.

But yeah it’s pretty broken depending on the map and his addons and such. I’m like 90% killer main and I won’t even deny that. I literally never lose playing it and it’s not like I’m a god blight by any means. I just get carried by how strong he is.

  • You could make this argument about any killer in the game.

Fact is, blight is super strong in a chase and can run whatever perks he wants.

People run that build either because it’s optimal or because they don’t know how to use his power well enough to wean off ruin undying tinkerer.

  • I feel like it will vary killer to killer. But as far as power compared to effort put in per chase I wanna say it’s this one?

    B56B8A80-D627-4059-8976-96298832ED70.png

Very low effort, but extremely strong anti loop. Once you get hit with an ether bleach bottle you basically drop a pallet or take a hit and that’s that.

I’m not sure why more people are not saying “hook bomb with BT” since that’s actually the fastest way to rank up as survivor

    @SilentPill

Right. Same can be said about matches that do not have any of those perks. Survivors do not stand a chance of the killer decides to go from “Let me to patrol gens” to “Let me throw and get 4-5 hooks and camp because I am bad” … even then survivors need those perks to be able to get a decent win. It has nothing to do with the perks changing the game for THEM when they are reacting to a sudden change of playstyle.

My response was basically to your notion that they can be game changers when they are extremely situational.

As for the streamer reference, I am not going to trash talk on here, but let’s just say I wouldn’t place my bets on him.

I don’t know how anyone who has played this game for any length of time is going to call perks like dead hard and decisive strike situational. DS was so universally strong it was used offensively more than defensively until the nerf, and it’s still used offensively often.

BT can still be used to body block offensively and can be unable to be punished because of DS on top of it. Unbreakable is still the most consistent game changer in DBD. Going from 3+ slugs back to 0 pressure because of 1 perk is more powerful than anything the killer can muster.

And it’s not just the one streamer, it’s literally like all of them? Otz, Scott, Monto, etc etc the list goes on. Play killer into enough red rank meta SWFs and you should come to the same conclusion independently.

It’s very easy for a good survivor team to slam 3 gens in 2 minutes, and what if you are playing a killer who relies on survivor mistakes…and they don’t really make any? Now survivors are finishing 40-60% of their objectives and you did 8% of yours. And you think that’s sustainable in any way shape or form for a killer who is attempting to win?

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2449932#Comment_2449932

    @SilentPill

Those survivor perks can be countered without the need to bring a perk.

DS? It only affects you if you are a proxy camper or Tunneler of both.

BT? Same as above. Even when in a situation where both camping and tunneling were “warranted”, you can still wait it out and slug. To which brings me to the following perk.

UB? VERY situational. I think all these perks are very rng dependent simply because they rely on the playstyle of that specific player. Otherwise you will not see their effects as much.

so I don’t really think they are that much game changing than say the playstyle of a killer.

You do realize it’s literally impossible to do 12 hooks on any non top tier killer if the survivors are not bots? Every big streamer for this game also says that.

I think the best example is watching true talent get friggin slapped trying to play nice against a tournament team.

I wanna see you go into skill based matchmaking and win some games against top tier survivors as like clown while being a basic bih killer who just downs survivors, hooks them, and then walks away to another chase all the way across the map.

I literally bet money you won’t win.

Rusty Shackles makes Hag worst, its just frustrating to go against because survivors dont realize theyve triggered a trap.

A part of what makes Hags traps so deadly is the camera flick, this can completely throw a survivors pathing off and actually net you a hit that otherwise wouldn't be possible with Rusty Shackles

Usually I do a high risk strategy with her and just run to the furthest corrupted gen and trap it ASAP at the start of the match.

You can have a gen grab in the first 20-30 seconds of the game and then it’s GG. That’s why I think it’s better than tombstone piece because tombstone piece has 0 map pressure until tier 3 and you will basically never tombstone good survivors without PWYF stacks.

Running Nemesis on Myers is like screaming “guess who brought tombstone?!” so it’s not like they are going to be surprised by it at all

Rusty shackles is more consistently ridiculous in how the games go when you run it, especially against SWFs

  • @ThanksForDaily said:

This is true. Because when the Ruin, Undying 0 effort training wheels perks are gone, killers getting destroyed the next second when they having a good start thanks to free regression :)

I’ll never get why people complain about it. It takes 1 perk out of 16 survivor perks to get rid of the combo within like 90~ seconds usually. That’s supposed to be the equivalent of 8 perks for the killer.

  • I think it’s easy to agree that survivor perks are significantly more game changing than killer ones. Ruin Undying? Hard countered so easily by so many things.

NOED? Killer has probably already lost the game by then. I can’t really think of anything else that’s a huge game changer for killer. Maybe tinkerer but that’s only as good as it is if ruin is up.

There’s nothing as close as impactful as perks like DS/BT/DH/Unbreakable/etc that’s for sure

Killers trying to kill rush get slapped by every survivor perk in the book but survivors can rush the gens penalty free just about

  • Rusty Shackles IMO, on an indoor map it’s absolutely insane. And unlike the other killers, takes 0 skill to use. Like literally 0.

But also maybe redheads pinky finger? It’s definitely better than Iri head at this point.

Tombstone piece is up there but against a really good team you will only ever get 1 tombstone and a SWF will call out if you are stalking them for too long.

  • @Dwigtht said:

I don't like indoor maps in general -- they give a huge advantage to some killers and nerf the powers of others.

Like playing Billy on RPD, Midwitch or Lery's gives me miserable experience as an M1-only killer. On the other hand Trapper, Myers, Nemesis are strong there.

RPD looks kinda cool for a few matches.

I actually love sending myself as Billy to midwich. Blight as well. You can’t curve too many of the loops but he gets through the halls so fast and most of the loops are so unsafe it doesn’t really matter; especially if you know you are going there and make your build for it.

It’s only bad when they are holding W away after seeing you at the end of a hall and you have no ability to catch up. Other than that midwich is very killer sided and probably my favorite map in the game.

Somehow they made Clown feel weaker than before

I used to run Chloroform+Makeup Kit every day and that combo has no synergy now.

It’s because the bottles actually have to break now before the gas comes out if you don’t get a direct hit. So it takes longer overall to actually gas someone and they are more likely to be away from the center of the cloud.

  • They nerfed his expanded gas cloud one pretty heavily too. You used to be able to get absolutely massive clouds that lingered for a long time for some pretty good area-denial capabilities. Now they don’t expand the cloud nearly as much and the lingering effect has been removed.

The only real positive is that his second strongest addon combo, ether+bleach, got buffed pretty significantly by the reload change. That combo has always been pretty devastating but it was held back quite a bit by the slow reload.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

It's for players who want the game to be balanced. There's too much whataboutism with the current rank system, and this MMR system will give us better data. Once that's in, the devs can begin balancing around it. Then all players, competitive and casual, will reap the benefits of a more balanced game with similarly skilled opponents/teammates.

That’s until you realize that DBD gameplay with 4 experienced survivors is usually hideous as killer. It can really feel more like a job than a game.

And let’s be real here, this game isn’t getting balanced ever. 5 years and we still got sooooo many broken things and they keep releasing more. 5 years for an Iri head nerf, just think about that. I think anyone decent at balancing should have realized that was broken within about 5 seconds.

I also didn’t like the SBMM introduction to call of duty. It was nice having some variation in the games. Some games you could do really good, some really bad, etc. SBMM made it so every game pretty much everyone just gets a 1 K/D and it’s kinda stale and predictable.

  • I wasn’t a huge fan as killer, as survivor it was kinda nice actually having decent teammates.

Killer I was getting very experienced survivors and SWFs which sort of forces you into playing the killers who can handle those squads instead of playing the killers you like; which sucked since it’s great that all killers are red rank viable at the moment. “Play this handful of killers or automatically lose” is literally going back to 2016-2018 DBD balance

You are too focused on the oblivious status effect when the combo is about aura reading. There is always the risk that dulls get cleansed before you get everyone hooked, but pretty much every hex combo is at the mercy of getting lucky.

I just don't see trying to defend dulls or trying to keep the plaything hexes up as being the most worthwhile way to use Hex: Plaything. It's value comes from getting survivors to cleanse totems.

So why wouldn’t you just use an actual totem build for that? Retribution with 1 shots from haunted sounds a lot better than retribution to….maybe sneak up on a survivor?

A few rounds of aura reading sounds pretty meh for 2 perk slots; there’s other extremely strong tracking perks to use that will work all game.

  • @SkeletalElite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2447351#Comment_2447351

They can see it within a short range I believe it's 16 meters but maybe it was 24 at tier 1. Also keep in mind this perk can activate once on each survivor. So you hook a survivor and a totem lights up which oniy they can cleanse for the first 90 seconds. It's basically a time waster perk. It forces each survivor to run around and break their totem after being hooked.

It definitely doesn’t force anything. Similar to survivors not bothering to heal, I’m sure plenty of experienced loopers won’t mind being oblivious.

It’s only really threatening on indoor maps. If I’m oblivious on a map like Coldwind im just going to sit on gens with Sprint Burst and Spine chill and not care in the slightest.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2448262#Comment_2448262

T3 Myers has 24 with M/A so it'll still be useful. But the concept is having the ability to instant down and getting free aura reading on totem cleanses due to Plaything creating hexes, survivors getting an aura for their hex, and retribution triggering on other hex totem cleanses.

Sure but that’s not guaranteed to happen consistently enough to justify running it IMO. He gets 3-4 tier 3s I think? So you have a pretty limited window to find someone, pop tier 3, down them, hook them, and then find someone oblivious because of the totem. Otherwise monitor would have been better.

With retribution too maybe that changes something and it’s a bit better but there’s nothing stopping them from just cleansing your dull totems if they realize what build you have.

Also, spine chill exists. I could probably be permanently oblivious every match and still do fine solely because of that perk.

‹ 1 2 3 … 25
