As someone pointed out in another thread, my biggest concern is that people will confuse prestiging for ranks, and complain about how they've been paired with a player whose prestige is much higher than theirs. I'd honestly much rather players not see each others' prestige, as there's no point to it.
Yeah that wouldn't surprise me either tbh 😂 tbf the MMR isnt really based of skill so not like itd matter lol.
But yeah I'd rather character icons, I'm curious why youd prestige people beyond 3 other than a silly number to be shown.
I'm kinda hoping we get item colours at X prestige levels or colour killer powers at X prestige. Devs have spoke about it before and its give players something to aim towards (for example I'd love a green medkit skin or a different coloured chainsaw for my hillbilly)

For any of the killers out there that are getting frustrated with gen rushing during the event its really bhvrs idea for this since we have to finish the gens to get our rewards survivors will try to get them done as fast as humanly possible. If we were to get them just like the killer does I'm sure you would see a lot less of it not 0 but a lot less. When I do play on a swf we literally wont do anything but gens till they are gone and then try to look for the invitation since they are impossible to find.
I dont do swf but if I did we wouldn't stack meta with insanely fast toolboxes.
I'm use to fast gens and good players but I dont need to see multiple BNPs in an event so the games over within 3mins, it's just boring...
The game already favors survivor if you all play well, bo need to exaggerate it further lol
-
Step 3. Do gens
Let's not act like doing gens is hard, most games I dont get to end game is due to 1 or more players not doing gens.
It's easier to get invitations as killer sure but killers miserable most games
-
*WHY DO SURVIVORS DC*
Fixed the title, as for your answer entitlement.

but you know... some people will get all the cosmetics really fast and than start playing for Grades or fun or something..
Well I avoid farming, I just play to play but I'm not one to try be mean to the other side but events definitely do bring out the worst in some people.
Iv had survivors BM me and throw games or DC early on and iv had killers just be toxic... honestly it's justthe DBD community

Not 100% this tome, but I feel that the event tome is rather close. The event tome was mostly okay, but I am quite taken aback by the crass divergence in difficulty between this chapters characters: Haddi just has to escape one trial in whatever way you manage. The Dredge on the other hand hast to hit 5 survivors within 15s seconds of emerging of a locker - ok thats not that bad ... oh wait ... 5 TIMES during a single trial!
Still rather that than break 50 pallets lol
-
Iv spent about 30mins slugged in today's games....
For whatever reason killers have been letting me bleed out instead of hooking me, I dont even do any form of BM so...
Edit: cant speak on invitations though, I got mine pretty fast as survivor on the first day

Yep. More grindy, more throwy than ever before. They don't listen and/or care what the community keeps telling them about the Rift.
Yeah I'd much rather simple sort challenges that encourage me to play X character or use X perks. I have these long grindy challenges like break 50 pallets, do 15 totems, 12 glyphs etc.
They just dont change the gameplay and take so long without throwing
-
@vanGlasse1 said:
I don't mind much about those that take a bit longer in ammount of items (like do X gens, heal X times), but I do have a huge problem with those stupidly designed like "in a SINGLE match stay hidden within 10 meters of the killer for 60 seconds", "unhook someone who unhooked you 4 times", "escape using only 1 specific perk". Some of these are ridiculous because there's no way of tracking if you're even making progress at a match, and also you can't tell if you already reached the goal before deciding to play normally and ignore the challenge. Others are just not well thought in terms of how many times you can do a certain thing in a match, and how many players could even do the same thing/challenge at the same time.

I don't mind the ones that have you use a different perk but when you have to hide by the killer for a minute of the game or be the one to escape through the hatch with the hatch only showing when you're the last one I'm not a fan - unless your 4swf odds are you or your teammate is throwing the game to get that challenge done. Use Stake Out to get a bunch of great skill checks or Balanced Landing to escape a chase after falling from a great height or even escape a match/get kills using specific load out I think are good challenges to have you use perks you don't normally use.
@[Deleted User] said:
For the most part no, I don't have an issue with most of them. More-so I have an issue with some of the challenges. Like escaping with No-Mither or staying near the killer while injured, etc. Stuff you have to do that actively hinders your team. The tomes generally aren't an issue otherwise and I like them, imo.
See I'm the opposite, I'd rather the no mither challenge than these tedious super long ones that dont change gameplay but take ages to complete if I'm not throwing the game.
I'm not saying I want them all like the no mither but at least it made me use a new perk and play differently and still aim to win unlike the green glyphs which took 45 games to get lol, annoying as challenge
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I want them to add more interesting challenges. They're missing out on easy ones. For example, The Legion has two challenges (three if you count the challenge from the 3rd Tome) that asks you to do the most basic thing, hit Survivors. There's no creativity. Why not create a challenge that asks you to vault over a pallet and then hit a Survivor? Maybe one asks you to specifically put a Survivor into the dying state during Feral Frenzy.
Repetitive soul-less challenges are making Tomes boring. Make them more interesting.
Yeah I'd rather stuff like that, like let's be honest getting totems isnt hard it's just long and boring. It's why I dont mind games that force me to use a perk as its actually encouraging something different. A challenge like you suggested would make me play legion
-

Yep........ Not to mention the flood of bad sportsmanship reports that will happen any time the killer is within 60m of the hook.
60m that's generous 😂

Eh SB will make players far less efficient, people wont 99 it right or waste lots of time doing so and people will SB to deadzones.
I'll just be glad people cant press X button just to correct their mistakes or gain distance at loops for no reason
-
HUD icons to show what people are doing and nerf everything that was used because it was needed and then buff things that didnt need it making everything a mess.
I dont have faith, alot of the perks weren't too strong or weak and tweaking them will kill them or make them op meta
-
You dont need to escape?
And the offerings makes it have a purple aura so that certainly helps a bunch too and made getting my 12 not too bad.
I wish they made an audio sound when you're in X metres though, thatd would of been good
-
Yeah he joined a bunch of weak and bad killers.
He was never too strong to begin though, had plenty of counter play and reads you could do but survivors didnt like you had to guess/read shots (even though that's what most killers have to do at loops anyway)
-
I just hate the fact I'm seeing the meta perks mixed with the highest rarity items.
Like do you need 4 BNP lol

40 reworks != 40 nerfs
Well they clearly arent going to buff DS, corrupt, Pain etc. Are they... so if it's not a buff it's a nerf..
-
@Iron_Cutlass said:
DS can be reworked though, just an idea I had:
Using whatever is at hand, you stab your aggressor in an ultimate attempt to escape.
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike activates for the next 40/50/60 seconds:
~When being grabbed or picked up by the Killer, succeed a Skill Check
to automatically escape their grasp, stunning them for 5 seconds.
~Successfuly stunning the Killer will disable Decisive Strike for the remainder of the Trial and result you in becoming the Obsession.
~End-Game Collapse will disable Decisive Strike for the remainder of the Trial.
While Decisive Strike is active, the following interactions will deactivate it:
~Repairing a Generator
~Gaining a Health State or healing another Survivor for a Health State
~Fully Cleansing or Blessing a Totem
~Sabotaging a Hook
~Unhooking other Survivors
~Interacting with the Exit Gates
So basically nerf DS so it cant be used at endgame? That would just result in instant endgame tunnels where currently the killer goes for the person trying to get the save/trade.
I get why you say it but it's one of those things that encourage less fun styles, now if NOED was changed to stop perks like DS and BT at endgame that's be a fair balance and good health, perk to counter

They said in the anniversary they are making base game changes to go with these perk changes. The key is that those changes need to address the issues those certain perks currently do. If they don’t, then that will be bad.
@Slowpeach said:
Keep in mind it is said that there will be base game changes as well. They've said they are aware of the reason why these perks get used and won't just nerf blindly.
How much faith do I have in this sentiment? On a scale of 1-10? Maybe 4 or 5. They are the right words but from other developers I've heard them before and then they go and do stuff completely out of touch with reality.
While I understand they said that, they also stated they wont make perks basekit so thing like DS or corrupt which makes a healthier game wont be added as base then nerfed if that makes sense?
And let's be real they ain't buffing these perks lol.
But this is why its a concern, focusing on what's being used lots instead of why. I'm all for new metas but some perks arent strong, they're just good when so many others are pointless

Never had an issue with Green Glyphs, the best advice I can give is just to search for them actively at the start of the match, dont wait until EGC to get them done. Waiting until EGC gives others a better opportunity to get the Glyphs. The best maps for finding them (in my opinion) are MacMillan, Coldwind, Gideon's, Azarov's isnt too bad either; so you can maybe use map offerings to have a better chance of finding them. Small Game is also really good since you can see what totem locations to not go to, since Green Glyphs spawn at totem spawns not occupied by a totem.
Well I'm often the first chased (bad luck but I dont mind getting chased) but even though I know the locations to look i never see or hear any which is my issue, within the first few mins i could be chased round most of the map.
Maybe others are spawning near? I honestly have no idea how they work or if a requirement is needed.
Hardest challenge for me so far which is weird as I know most totem spawns lol

Yep, this sounds about right. I'll equip it as survivor because I'll play survivor for 70% of my games, but I'll just cave and do that challenge as killer because it's just easier. Good luck getting this one. For some reason it feels harder than the cleanse totems challenge for some reason. It could be your killer snagging them before your fellow survivors get the chance as well.
I'm like 99.9% survivor now 😂 use to be a killer main pfft.
And I honestly have no idea why it's so hard, I just cant find any at all yet i check every totem location so my guess is everyone else is just farming them because games today was wayyyy harder than usual to carry

The blue streak ("white") is the signature mark of her character in the lore, so it makes sense that none of the cosmetics change it. No reason why they can't alter the rest of her hair though.
That's a poor excuse if so as so many characters have lore breaking cosmetics, so if that's what BHVRs reason is I'm saying it's just lazy

This was in tome 4 and it's never been brought back. I agree with you.
This challenge is so good, literally all you have to do is play in a way that gets your objective done, it's a win-win-win-win-lose situation.
@Akumakaji said:
I feel you, the 4 blood dept one was especially grueling, or the "destroy 50 pallets/damage a gen" ... lmao 50? Oof. And the green glyphs now are pretty obnoxious to do.
Agreed, I absolutely hate these challenges which are just a forced grind for no apparent reason.
Luckily when it was break XX pallets one hawking's existed and it had so many pallets lol.
I'd just like these types of challenges that encourage farming and throwing games made more team friendly
-
@amazing_grace said:
You must be trying to get green glyphs as survivor. That was your first mistake. If you play killer, the green glyph challenge isn't too bad. It's probably why you can't find them as survivor. It's both easier to find the glyphs as killer and it takes a fraction of the time to close them.
I dont really do killer anymore, it's not balanced and I dont get chill people like others seem to it's just stacked meta, toxicity, stupid items. And last time I played I was getting hackers daily.
But as survivor I'm chased over the whole map, I'm great at chases but I never see or hear one and since they spawn in totem spots and I know most of them it's just the fact everyone else is getting them or I dont have time without just throwing every game till it's done which isnt very team friendly

I started under RBMM. SBMM is a million times better. Note: not perfect, but better.
Here's the thing though. Increasing your MMR isn't a reward. SBMM isn't about rewarding you for winning - it's about trying to match people against/with each other more fairly.
The rewards you get are the BP from the match and the end of the month grade rewards, both of which said Blendette would be missing out almost entirely on. All she's doing, in essence, is making games harder for herself.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3001228#Comment_3001228
'Pretty good' - yeah, I'd agree with that. Not perfect - the lobby dodge issue desperately needs to be fixed, but definitely decent.
Under RBMM, maybe 1 game in 10 was remotely even. I was facing people with thousands of hours with less than 100, thanks to the silly resets and how ridiculously easy it was to get to purple ranks.
Under SBMM, I'd say maybe 3/5 are pretty even, win or lose.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3001229#Comment_3001229
Keep the word 'average' in mind here. If you're good enough to literally loop a killer for 5 minutes, you're going to escape more on average, even if you died in that game. Thus, your MMR will rise over time as a natural byproduct of this.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3001367#Comment_3001367
There is no such thing as an MMR hell in DbD. In almost all other games, it's mostly an urban legend.
Solo queue needs help, and BHVR have already stated that they are planning to do this. But in a world where SWF exists, balance becomes almost impossible, as either solo, killer or SWF is going to get the greasy end of the stick.
I wish that was the case, sadly to say I died on first hook 5times today. While I'm happy I got 20k+ base BP each game I'd still like my skill the be rewarded, but doing stuff like that in games and still losing alot or that one person who didnt do anything escapes isnt a good feeling.
I just dont agree with Escaping shows skill

@Vampwire said:
His anti-loop really makes no sense. You charge the shock, hit them, they're paralysed for 2.5 seconds but then you also slow down enough that you can't really make it to them in time. I've tried multiple strategies to make the shocks work. I've tried to not spam shock and time it right. Doesn't really work. Spam shocks just slow you down and do nothing. These were all on pretty standard loops I should add.
Every-time I would do this, I'd be just far away enough to miss. And it seemed like the only way to really utilize his power was when survivors were greedy and I was already on their ass. It's just so counter intuitive.
The delay as well is weird. I understand why it exists. It makes it so you cant just instant shock when they reach the pallet. But I also feel that's the way it should be. You already have to charge it. I wouldn't entirely remove it but it should be a bit faster.
Static blast also sucks. You have to do it like 3 times to put someone in tier 3. But the cool-down is a minute. Sure, it's good for finding survivors and potentially delaying the game. But Legion does the same in just a couple of seconds, with the potential to get a down from it. As well with not having to wait so long.
I love the idea of his character and his design. I just can't take him seriously. If anything he's a nuisance. And playing him feels like a waste of time. I wish he was the intimidating mad man he is in the lore.
In a game balanced for bad players hes bound to be weak, it's just the way most killers are.
Hes good for people that arent good loopers or efficient on gens as per

Survivors have builds that require certain maps. Personally I think map offerings should be removed from both sides.
Eh disagree, theres not a full build that only works on a certain map. Sure some maps are better for perks like BL but it's not like scratch mirror myers
-
I mean I get some killers using map offerings especially as you physically have builds that only work on certain maps such as jump scare myers, impossible skill check doc etc.
Survivors I dunno what the point is personally, i never use them and I do feel survivors use it for a competitive advantage not to fit a certain build.
So imo killers should only get to pick, I know people will see that as one sided but I dont wanna lose jump scare myers etc. And i dont want this...
-
It's an over used term, but saying it doesnt exist is a lie.
While it's kinda on the devs its possible and alot of people overuse the term its certainly a thing that exists. It's not that survivors arent allowed to do gens or even rush them and it's not meant as an attack it's just a statement.
Gen rushing, in the actual sense (not people just throwing the term around) are players that have the intent to do the gens as fast physically possible, so people stacking toolboxes or faster gen perks, let people go to extra hook states to do gens etc.
Doesnt mean it's a bad play or an insult, it can be a strategy but that doesnt mean it's an unfun experience to verse.
For example many years ago BNP could insta do a gen, you could run into 4 of those in a match... while it's not as bad now people can still rush gens and with more people getting better at looping it can be difficult

? What does that even mean, nurse with no add-ons is already strong enough
The add-ons (certain) just make her extremely broken (edit: and certain perks combinations)
That's the point, the addons is what make nurse as good as she is.
People love to use the term broken alot. When in reality if it was broken you would win every game and everyone could do it which isnt the case.
Nurse with addons is very strong, not broken.

etc. what do you mean etc.?
that's like the only thing,
besides that, "some games are impossible but you can still pip and die"
yeah so you gain pip in one game and lose pip in the other, woooow, cool
sure it's easier, but you still gotta cross that bridge of pips,
5 perfect games where the survivors don't suck, killers don't camp/tunnel you,
the games don't instantly end, everyone gets equally chased, etc.
that's basicaly asking too much
Eh iv never had a problem, I usually get to iri 1 if I play a few days and I dont aim towards medals (which if you learn the requirements arent the worst to hit).
I wouldn't stress to much about it, it's only a little extra bp at the end of the day and focusing too much on something will just make things worse
Iv only played like 18hours this month, oops 😂
Edit: it's also very rare I depip, while I get not everyone is the same you should still be able to get enough points to safety pip unless you're camped early game which isnt that common

That map's lighting is quite neutral.
Map like Autoheaven, where the contrast is really high, if you running facing a certain direction, you see nothing.
I know some maps are different, I was just meant as a meme (for example in halo pro players wanted a weapon nerfed so people just share pictures of the weapon lol)
But as someone who has difficulty with their eyes with sensitivity and straining I haven't actually had a issue with it which is why I suggest to the OP to check settings and the environment they're in as they all have a huge impact especially if they're someone like me
-
Can I ask your system?
While its definitely an issue lots of people get I haven't had it often at all (I still get it which shows theres an issue) but I feel others get it far more.
Side note: haddonfield is frame drop central for me, only map I get it on
-
New image that scares people, nightfall lol.
In seriousness though maybe check your console and tv settings or the room you're playing in, all these can have a massive effect on how much your eyes strain.
I suffer with my eyes and them being really sensitive, so much so I cant have a normal house light on and be in the room for ages but i dont think the actual nightfall is your issue
-
Translation: Boring = I lost
I'd take more dredges, iv been having a blast versing them and I enjoy all the stuff going on especially the mindgames which makes stuff interesting as it forces me to run tiles differently.
More killers should be like this imo

If i am too good in some matches my teammates get worse or the killer gets stronger so that i lose.
Well some games are just impossible to pip in I get that but you can still pip and die even in iri.
But with updates of not losing a level if you have a bad game etc. Then its definitely been made easier, dont forget emblems and BP are different so totems can help objective emblem etc.
