I won´t argue that it isn´t ideal. But there is simply no other way to bring solos on the same real time information levels as to what SWF have.
That is true, and the updated HUD will help people but itll help the solos that are already good (people like me) while the big issue with solo Q is DCs and people that dont do anything and sadly nothing will stop that expect them personally and we cant control that lol.
Solo Q is a pain, but it's for reasons we cant do nothing about unless a very in depth SBMM is created and thatd be the only hope

How to double pip in Iri:
- repair 5 generators
- heal bunch of survivors
- survivors have to be unhooked safely always
- chase the killer and lose them couple of times
- survive
- do all of the above with no exceptions
That is the one of the only ways to double pip in Iri, so basically have luck in impossible game where both killer and survivors are bad and you do everything....
That's not strictly true, totems count as objective emblem so you dont need to do all gens and the killers likely to have regression too.
And you should only get safe unhook anyway, I agree you should be punished if it's not but iri altruism is the easiest emblem to get.
Just doing good chases will be enough, this will be easy as long as you're equally matched but the games not balanced off chases so unlikely.
-
@Marc_123 said:
Hm?
Here are a lot of people telling getting to IRI 1 is eaaasyy and it is only time played.
You surely must do a lot of things wrong then.
Some can almost think the emblems were made with some kind of "skill" measurement for matchmaking in mind... how crazy is that?
Time played obviously has to be A LOT of time played. I come to gold some times but not higher in a month.
Well if you understand the emblems, play properly and often you'll likely hit iri 1. Well from my experience anyway, even if it's just single pips per game

I just wanted to discuss this. Everyday, I keep getting a minimum of 1 salty comment on my steam. I wear these with pride as One salty comment = One Rekted SWF, but it just irks me that people are leaving these comments while keeping their profile private. You cowards! keep your profile public if you want to leave your cringy salty comment on someone else profile.
btw I know lots of people playing DBD that plays alot of H3nta1 Games and shows their profile with pride as well.
I dont agree, people can keep their profiles private because everyone deserves that right and while I dont know you and how you play/what you say.
But if someone is horrible, racist, a bully etc. Then yes you do deserve the comments, however if it's just over stupid stuff like camping and tunneling then whatever just ignore the stupidity
-
@Tsulan said:
Sadly, ingame voice chat seems to be the only solution. Simply, because whatever the hud presents to some survivors. They will happily ignore it. Just look at the amount of survivors that run behind a No Mither teammate, in an attempt to heal. Or when someone gets basement bubbad with Kindred, where Bubbas aura clearly never leaves the basement, and they still run happily into the basement.
While I agree with the HUD issue and people not using it coms wont help either.
You'll just get mass toxic players shouting, crying, moaning down a mic and while I dont agree with people not doing gens I also dont want loads of people arguing. It's a big reason I solo Q I cant stand people moaning every game it puts me in a bad mood.
Coms wont help people more than a HUD, the biggest issue with solo Q are the ones these changes wont affect (dcs and the people that dont do anything)
-
Well I dont like doing swf, to easy and unfair and I'd actually like a decent length game (if I swf I'm lucky to get 1 chase by the time games over) plus I'd still take solo survivor over killer in high mmr off peak, killer is never fun so solo Q still has an advantage.
As for your games:
1. I'm sure that was a pretty boring match for the killer, DCs and less chases because no one saves isnt a great match and you cant buff people to get a brain
2. Killers are told to go for kills, they often dont have time to do loads of chases and RPD is a horrible map as killer (hence the rework) so I'm sure he couldn't be bothered to play that match
3. Well it's a nurse, shes playing to win and you cant really fault that and I bet if it wasnt nurse many people would t-bag at god pallets, it's also nurse on RPD so I'm sure she wasnt happy. DC is still a L, just take the L.
Iv been playing since its release and while there is issues with solo Q there is no way to buff them to get them to do gens, not DC etc. Not to mention the SBMM is dreadful on its parameters. As long as people do gens and try solo Q isnt that bad and more balanced

If I say it, it is official.
I have confirmed we're looking at sending out the rewards early next week to those who met the requirements.
@MandyTalk is there a reason we couldn't get surveys built into the game and/or external links through the game that already has our info linked?
Im not sure if its possible but it seems like it be a great way to do more surveys (of all kinds) and could have the rewards linked upon completion like an automated system?

Way I'm seeing it is, whatever other rewards you may get, starting over at level 1 bloodwebs will make for easier grinding of any remaining perks or items you want.
What would be cool is custom items, gets to prestige 4 and get X colour item, prestige 5 for X colour item etc.
So you get a bit more customisation with your character while still showing off you have prestiged them to that level

MMR is a joke. At least in my personal experience. The difference in skill that can occur in two consecutive games is utterly mind-blowing. On killer I can go from being completely run round and have no chance of getting more then 2 hooks or I can get 8 hooks without dropping a generator and I end up feeling bad and letting them go because of it. Also it's not like this game has a good single player/learning experience for these clueless souls to go to. Granted some people can't be taught and will insist on screwing up games to learn the hard way, but some people can be helped.
Take the hag example given. How are they to know crouching does not trigger traps? Unless they loaded the tooltip that tells them such and those are complete garbage in some cases they can't possibly know that. Just because they see someone else crouch walking to a hook might just mean they are being careful until they've got them off the hook then think it's time to run because they know the killer is notified by this. That is one of the things the bare bones tutorial DOES cover.
My killer games arent like that at all, I play at off peak and everyone be sweaty lol.
Well theres no way that was their first game, and if it happens once dont keep doing it 😂 mmr is definitely not good at all, but when you can be broken multiple ways and it shows in the HUD.
My point was a better HUD isnt going to help bad players or a bad SBMM that matches me with people like that
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2992330#Comment_2992330
Then camping and tunneling also don´t exist. Since killing is the killers objective.
Oh dear, you have opened the gates of hell with that topic 😂
-
Bad idea for a few reasons.
1. Easy tunnels
2. You know exactly what people have
3. So many perks are pointless
4. Youd see very little mix of survivors
5. Even if you limit to no duplicate survivors youd get entitled people quit because they didnt get who they wanted.
While a concept to make survivors have certain benefits and perks this wouldn't be the way to do it. If the base game was better done and perks werent band aid fixes then you certainly could have survivors have different stats

It's text that is already there when you try and heal someone. It's simply replacing something that already exists, instead of the healing bar, it can be simply be redded out or something. For No Mither it's fairly obvious, but for things like Deliverance or killer addons or perks which apply the status it can be less clear. Knowing how buggy this game is too, people might continue to persist if they can't figure out why someone is broken.
It does have the broken icon next to their name though and I physically spawned in injured so theres next to no reason for people not to know especially ones that SHOULD be near my mmr
-
To make you feel better and you arent alone, but they cant buff solo Q. You cant buff people not to DC, not do anything or not be entitled sadly
-
Typical the selfcare user DCs lol
But iv had worse and this is to be expected of DBD, honestly the playerbase is shocking
-
@jarjargist21 said:
So lately I've noticed gens are getting done in less then 4 minutes.
I think that's rather ridiculous that gens can be finished so quickly. Now it forces killers to camp/tunnel.
Devs please do something about this. Because I want to play a game that's more then 4 minutes.
Sorry I needed to vent about this.
Theres a reason corrupt is so meta the higher mmr (people actually do gens)
Iv never understood balancing around people who dont play the game properly and dont do their only objective but when the devs do is it any surprise gen defense is meta?
-
I'm quite the opposite in escapes, but this will happen in games where theres no actual decent SBMM, lack of killers and just people not playing properly. Not to mention people that derank and smurf
Personally 80% of losses aren't because the killer made us lose, usually it's the people that DC or dont do gens that make me lose. Realistically they shouldn't be in my games but it's what I expect with the bad SBMM
-
@Slowpeach said:
Probably should be an indicator on the survivor or a message saying ‘broken status: can’t be healed’ if they otherwise can be.
Theres an icon right next to their name and no healing bar pops up, we dont need a bunch of text littering the screen

Literally my last match: playing solo against Hag. She traps the hook, i´m crouching towards it, to unhook a Bill. With Bond i see a Claudette rushing towards the hook, triggering 2 traps and getting grabbed off during the unhook animation. After safely unhooking Bill, i proceed to approach the hooked Claudette, while being crouched. She sees me coming crouched, without triggering the traps aaaand she instantly starts to run after getting unhooked, triggering the traps and getting hit by the Hag.
Some people are really learn resistant and i agree, they won´t notice the information on the hud. Doesn´t matter how big the info is.
Yeah I dont get why so many people keep doing the same thing and expect a different outcome, like you know you set off the trap running at the hook, you know you have gone down every time... please learn or try something new haha
@EvilJoshy said:
I remember when there was no hud indication that someone was using no mither. You can give solo all the tools in the world. Won't change anything if they won't use them.
Well this is why I dont want the solo Q buffs they suggest, wont fix people that are the main issue with solo Q anyway (people that dont do gens, hide in the corner, DC etc.)
-
@eloise said:
Because I play the new killer or an old one is the same kind of games, my MMR is not good, I am with players too strong for my level
Dont forget new killers get placed near your highest mmr killer so if you're a god nurse for example your new killer will be X rating below that.
Also no one wants to play killer so itll just throw you in alot of matches or throw random survivor in etc.
I dunno what people expect with a such a bad SBMM and balancing for bad players but there we go
-
I mean I can see a good few metres, enough to run any tile the same as usual and the killer still has a white effect on him.
(This is console btw, pc can be made easier through filters and low graphics settings. But pc usually gets advantages anyway like turning more in certain killer powers etc.)
I have a blast versing him though and I dont think hes too strong or anything, windows is certainly god tier against it but not required
-

Yeah sure, but i won't get my hopes up on SoloQ buffs, its just basekit changes, no comms.
God I'd hate coms, hearing people moan, cry and insult people would not be a nice experience.
Those basekit things will really improve efficiency though, youd know if someone gets of a gen to get the save etc.
Will casual players take advantage? Probably not but it's there and high SBMM will be more pain for killer 😂 and that's why I play survivor lol
-
Killer sided? Nah
But it's one of the better killer maps for quite a few killers compared to some of the unbalanced ones lol

Don't be so dramatic, He's an anti loop killer with 4.6 speed and can teleport to lockers, its hardly possible he'll get any weaker against SWF, They have comms soloQ doesn't.
It's just oppressive to SoloQ cause they have no comms, free undetectable and you can't see anything.
You are aware they are gonna buff solos closer to swf level right? That's why I was mentioning it.
And sorry I'm speaking from my perspective and currently, if I play killer I'll verse very good players where even strong tier skillets can struggle and I have still yet to lose verse the dredge.
I'm just saying he dont need a nerf because people decided to hide, that's a player choice and people do that regardless of the killer. People still hide every time they hear the terror radius even if the killers in chase, doesnt mean all killers need a nerf.
Hes not been out a week, people need to learn and adjust. Iv versed quite a few and still not lost so hes not that strong

Contrast > Brightness.
All monitors are different too, so is the condition of your room/light in your room.
Me and others are still able to loop, the point is it's meant to be harder. Not every killer has to be a weak push over, learn and adept... hasn't even been a week.

Sad to say he isn't exactly glowing white anymore, and its not that they'll climb the SBMM, some of them will stay at the low to average MMR, and if he does a lot of damage there, its even sadder to say, He's going to get nerfed, Big Time. This is a precaution already.
Well then the killer will die and not be played, like alot of killers they are held back because you do get those players in solo Q.
I'm not sure what they can do, I personally think hes in a great spot especially if they still plan to add all those solo Q buffs.
You win some you lose some, just the way it is with solo Q DBD and I feel that's more of the fun. Doing swf and winning every game dont seem fun to me but I still think that's a player issue not a power issue
-
I haven't played him in live (I kinda dont bother with killer anymore, lots of entitlement and toxicity with imbalances)
But my biggest issue is trying to hit a certain locker for the tp, so often I'll slightly miss it and go zooming miles away 😂 I'm great with his shadow revenant though.
Like most things it takes time to adjust and learn new things so I'm sure you'll pick it up and start doing some cool mindgame/nice hits

He still wouldn't be weak if we revert him back to pre buffed nightfall, and its not just about carrying the game, its about having less control of the situation, would you really want to play with SoloQ players who camps pallets for 60 sec cause they're injured?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2990781#Comment_2990781
Not everyone equips aura reading perks and not all SoloQ players remember tiles or exit gates and there's always 1-2 bad players per lobby.
Iv been playing this game since its release, I have seen far worse plays than people camping pallets 😂
It's quite common to have 1 dead weight in my games, I'm just enjoying a killer where he isnt so easily beat but not OP or oppressive.
I feel he has lots of counter play and hes not hard to spot with him glowing white pretty much, I honestly prefer the changed to nightfall the ptb version was a pointless feature while this has a use and adds abit more fear.
It's still new, people will adjust and good dredges will climb the SBMM and you wont verse as good ones

I LEARNED THE TILES
also "just need efficiant team"
cool cool, very lot of those in soloq
Well if you have learned everything you wont have any issues, I'm glad we could resolve this issue :)
-
Windows of opportunity or learn tiles, great counter to nightfall.
As for the power you can bait it, predrop, hold W to the next tile and loop there. Mix in new perks to try confuse the dredge himself or have lithe to cover distance.
But you can still win without looping, just need an efficient team. Your goal is to last as long as possible, dont worry if you go down
-
@Plsfix369 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2990756#Comment_2990756
Yeah but have you tried playing SoloQ lately? It's not exactly Competitive DBD. The SoloQ MMR is a mix bags of Good and Bad players, and if one player starts to exclude themselves for 60 sec. you practically lose faster.
And its the darkness that's the problem, I can predict Killer movement and how to run tiles, but they don't.
Solo Q is all I play, and I'm fully aware there are bad players but they will be bad regardless. I have people not doing gens and no matter the changes made that will always exist and that's not a lack of info or string killer that's just a player issue of some solo Q teammates
I'm use to carrying in DBD, being doing it for years so I see no difference and with SBMM it's been made easier but when it comes to dredge I haven't lost yet versing him.
Nightfall is fun imo, and it's nice having a killer that isnt really weak

While it does take awhile, if you initiate the chase then get to a loop in about 5-6 seconds, you will get a bloodlust while you mind game with your power.
When you let go, you retain the bloodlust.
not a huge deal but seems like a bug
If you're putting up chases before you get hit that are long enough for the killer to get bloodlust you should be able to win.
Seems good to me personally, especially when you learn to use stronger pallets to break bloodlust plus the hit does it too.
I'd say its intentional considering he moves so slow but I was just sharing my experience/opinion but I'm more competitive than most when it comes to it
-
As I'm aware no, it's always been an issue of kill to fast or use other means/skip hook stages will punish you.
Kills does not mean a win in the eyes of the emblems for killer
-
Well that's not an issue with the power but with the survivors.
Iv had no issues and I'm having fun, certainly made other perks more useful during nightfall. Windows of opportunity becomes god tier, but nightfall doesnt stop tiles/loops, gens or anything in the trial and if you team iant doing them it's on them
-
@Moxie said:
Title.
Makes the "just hold W" option even less possible.
Only Killer I am aware of that retains BL while using Power.
Bloodlust takes awhile to kick in, if you have a killer hitting multiple tiers in bloodlust you should win unless your teams not doing gens. Plus the drege moves so slow while holding his power you can easily get to a new tile.
Cant say iv had any issues versing him, had fun surprisingly
-
Havent lost verse a dredge yet
-
Dredge > bubba
While I dont moan about any killer, especially dying when all the gens are done but bubba is by far the worst killer to get hooked with at end game.
Hell when that last gen pops and I'm in a chase I'm know I'm dead against a bubba, just how it is and it's not that bad you got to endgame. Killers have similar issues

@RaSavage42 said:
I mean at this point I don't know what BHVR will do
But they way they took the stats seems a little sus (IMO)... they just said "oh these perks are used a lot" but without reaching further into why those perks are used in the first place
Corrupt- gives the Killer some pressure from the start of the match
Ruin- gives the Killer more regression and don't have to kick a Gen
BBQ- gives the Killer 2X BP if they get 4 stacks... and it also shows auras of Survivors outside 40M... plus it takes a Hook to get so yea
Well this is why I'm worried, I feel they may go "that's used alot, nerf it" instead of look at why.
I think its pretty clear survivors want to live longer and killers want longer matches in general, that doesnt seem bad to me and honestly I'm all for that and theres so many ways they can achieve that and it be balanced
-
@sizzlingmario4 said:
DS and corrupt are “healthy for the game” only as long as they continue to address issues that aren’t covered by the base game mechanics, which is something that needs to change. In the current state of the game, I don’t blame anyone for running either of them, but they really shouldn’t be as necessary as they are and they are just bandaid fixes to bigger problems. BT falls into this category as well.
I obviously still agree that DH needs changes too though.
Well the issue is the dev have no intention on fixing alot of core issues even when they have been brought up ALOT and they also dont wanna make healthy perks base and so perks become the band aid fix and to no surprise they're used often.
Both sides have a perfectly good reason to run DS/BT or corrupt/gen regression even more so the higher mmr you go and the higher skill people get
-
@jesterkind said:
Well, if they change aspects about the base game, it would make sense to nerf the perks that affect that thing.
IE, if they make slowdown perks less necessary, they'll also have to nerf the slowdown perks we have because otherwise they'll be too strong. A similar principle applies to any other perk that's healthy right now but may not be once the game changes a little.
Well I'd be okay with that, the only reason gen defense is really used it so the match lasts for an acceptable time (this is more at the higher level) like they arent fun perks to use, but it's not shocking as to why they are used
@supersonic853 said:
Nope they all need to be to remove staleness. Healthy or not. The survivor metas been the same mostly for years. Killer actually shifts but its always the same thing. Stall and regression. So a base game shift along with reworking all those? I'd be one hundred percent for it.
Its stale because you have so many bad and pointless perks, perks that stop you getting tunneled out or losing gens mega fast will always be popular until its built into the base game.
However buffing a bunch of perks would widen the range, but atm alot of killer perks stop synergies or just are worth running. Same as survivors, while DH is broken things like DS are to be expected. Both killer and survivor want to stay in the trial, one doesn't want to die fast and the other dont want to lose gens fast
-
Use kindred or info based perks, like killers do.
I dont really see a rush to this feature, the biggest solo Q killer is teammates that dont do anything all game and built in info wont change that
