  • Can't you pick yourself up in 2v8 by consuming your class ability? I'm pretty sure you can.

How can anyone have fun in this game unless theyre one of the worst this community has to offer? Genuine question.

    Pretty cynical viewpoint.

I have been playing regularly since 2020 and still have a great deal of fun.

I have only ever played survivor solo. My typical build is lightweight, deja vu, kindred, and bond. I die probably 80% of my survivor matches. Only rarely do I ever get to an iridescent grade and never have I made it to iridescent 1.

I play killer probably 40% of the time. My typical build is lightborn, iron grasp, nowhere to hide, and I'm all ears. I play a wide variety of killers. I try to 8 hook before anyone dies. If all 4 escape, so be it. Sometimes I even start the match planning on letting everyone go, though even then I always go for the 8 hooks.

The game can be fun without the win at all cost attitude and without making other players miserable. Accept that it's not perfect*, accept that the odds may not be in your favor, and play your best even when things go south.

*When I say accept that it's not perfect, I don't mean to imply we shouldn't suggest improvements or shouldn't call out bugs or other issues. You can still enjoy the game while advocating for positive changes.

  • Not just the single trial challenges either. It's a lot more common to hook/unhook during the EGC, for example.

Anyone with a lot of incomplete tomes should be looking for the challenges that can be done more easily in 2v8 (assuming you care about completing them in the first place).

During the first 2v8 I got all the nurse challenges done since I suck with nurse and 2v8 gives you a lot more targets to hit.

  • I use this perk 100% of the time I play survivor. I'm going to test this out tomorrow.

  • I get the prompt to rename my loadout presets but not cosmetic presets. Can anyone rename both types?

Since the rift might be walking dead themed, and theres allot of characters in the walking dead, there might be like 70% cosplays in the next rift like they did for castlevania :) is everyone hoping for those? Maybe glen cosplay for dwight or maggie cosplay for meg? Neegan cosplay for trickster?

I'd rather see Neegan as a legendary for trickster, and only if they can get Jeffrey Dean Morgan voice lines. Imagine him saying "I will shut that s*** down" after an M1 hit.

Knife throwing isn't particularly fitting for Neegan but I think it could be ok. The mori would need to be changed. And of course his weapon would be Lucille.

I think this could actually get me to play trickster.

You only get a BP cap for trial earned blood points to I believe 1 or 2 mil I forgot. If he got it from codes, daily log in rewards, weekly gift etc it ignores the cap.

The cap is now 5 million, but yeah, only BP earned directly in trial is capped.

Part of the confusion is probably coming from quests, as the BP earned from completed quests appear as part of the endgame screen and still get added to the player's BP even if the cap has been reached. It may look like matches are still awarding bloodpoints even though it's only adding the quest BP.

Have either of you ever played on PC to compare? I don't mean this as a omg PC is better (I prefer console), I'm just saying my inputs on the pc client is considerably more responsive.

I just wish there was a way to show it.

You're right, I've never played on anything but Playstation so I really have nothing to compare to.

I can say that PS5 is leagues better than PS4 though.

  • I play on PS5 and I've never noticed any delay.

  • I find it hard to believe there are any true Psych fans here when no one has suggested a Mary Lightly skin yet 😆

Not 2v8 but Chaos Shuffle was cancelled.

There is a new set of challenges coming.

Oh yes, thank you. That's what I meant.

  • I'm guessing those would have been the 2v8 rewards, but since the upcoming 2v8 was canceled and replaced with an extension of the masquerade they were added to the anniversary awards.

  • I think sales have only ever been for the auric cell price. I don't think shard prices have ever been discounted.

  • Last year I got close to 300 with Zarina and still have a fair amount. I didn't get nearly that many with any other character but I still have quite a few.

I hope they increase the spawn rate for them a bit. I want to try to get multiple survivors and killers into triple digits this year.

  • Happy Anniversary fellow DbD players! See you all at the masquerade!

  • I have this too. Stuck on 60/200 and won't progress. As OP said I don't remember this one being one of the quests when week 6 first dropped, though I can't remember what had been there before.

  • They should add a tab to the store called "Unviewed" which shows all pieces that have the red exclamation mark. It would make them easier to find.

I'm going for yes, purely because I'm getting so many older tome challenges I've been avoiding done. Pop 20 gens? Much easier in this mode lol

This is the exact reason I gave when I did the survey!

  • I'll be 47 in a few weeks and I've been playing games regularly since the early 1980's (Colecovision was my first system). My kids are now in their 20's. I don't see myself stopping any time soon. I hope to continue gaming long after I retire.

  • This happens if you select "Go to the event tome" from the screen where you can see all the rewards and you have either Yunjin's or Trickster's head selected.

You can see level 2 as well by selecting one of the level 2 rewards and selecting "Go to the event tome".

My 2v8 teammate was saying something similar the other day. He was playing Huntress and had the no hatchet speed boost+ bloodlust and couldn't catch up to a Dwight who was just looping a simple haybale.

Wonder if it was the same Dwight I was playing against the other day. He seemed to be going way too fast constantly and at the end of the game when the other killer and I closed in from both sides and downed him, he just disappeared and escaped (it wasn't hatch because there were more than 2 survivors left)

  • In the US here as well. I selected the challenge to vault pallets or windows in chase, got the credit for it in the match, then when the match ended there was no progress toward the challenge.

I hope it's sorted out soon.

Update: I logged out and then back in and the challenge was in fact completed. Still getting errors when spending bloodpoints or selecting challenges.

Wait time for survivors are not that bad, 1-2 mins but i had to wait 12 minutes to get a killer game, yet its the survivors that have 400% BP … that makes no sense?

The BP bonus is for the side that has fewer players* so it does make sense that there is less wait time for the side with the bonus.

*fewer in the sense of keeping the 4 to 1 ratio

I had a streamer complain that me and my other huntress buddy were "teaming", just because I hit him after she threw a hatchet at him.

Like no dub, there are two of us now why would we not down a survivor that runs into both of us.

That's funny. Isn't teaming literally the point of the mode?

Because shards are dbd money essentially and they want your real money (auric cells)

This is directly contradicted by the fact that they just put shards into the rift for the first time and they are in the free track.

  • I've only encountered one so far, but it didn't cause any noticeable performance issues (PS5) or significantly block my view while carrying.

I have seen screen shots of the blocked view, though, so I understand it can happen.

  • You can't really accidentally camp or tunnel. By definition those things need to be deliberate. Otherwise it's just bad luck or a poor decision by another player.

  • Also working again for me. Thanks!

  • Me too on PS5. Haven't been able to play since the new level of the masquerade tome opened. It goes back and forth between "unexpected situation" and "dedicated server not responding".

  • Aren't the majority of the extra BPs coming from the cobblers? And aren't the cobblers being used in the regular mode?

What massive BPs are you missing out on exactly? I know that some anniversary events give a few thousand BP and no doubt that can add up, but if everyone uses a cobbler, even in the normal mode 20k BP becomes almost 130k. But I haven't played the regular mode since the anniversary started so I don't know if they are being used there.

I just bought the new dnd survivor and none of his perks are showing up in the blood web. Do I need to prestige 1 before getting them now or is this just a bug?

It depends on what you're asking

If you are looking for the new survivor's perks in another character's bloodweb then you have to prestige the new character to at least P1. Then the level 2 and 3 perks will appear in the bloodwebs of all survivors.

If you are looking to get the level 2 and 3 perks for the new character then they should appear in the bloodweb right away but since it's random you could possibly end up having to get all the general perks first.

So, this is a two parter discussion.

My first question is, what is the actual point of a rift fragment feast this late into the rift?

Most of the active players have already completed the rift, and with the anniversary coming up, even non-active players will probably play enough to complete their rift.

Which brings me to my second point, I really think the way rifts max out needs a rework. As it currently stands, rift fragments do nothing once you hit the max tier of the current rift, which just kind of feels bad. There really should be some scrolling infinite unlock, ideally shards, but even just BP would be better than nothing.

A lot of other games have some kind of "infinite" reward for active players who finish their versions of a rift, so it feels really weird that DBD lacks one. This fix would also make swapping out a very useful BP feast for a very useless Rift fragment feast feel much better for your most active players.

Thanks for reading. What do the rest of you think?

I agree with the second part. Fragments should convert to BP or shards once the rift is complete.

Disagree with the first part, that most people have completed the rift at this point. I'm not even halfway through, though granted I have quite a few unclaimed challenges because I'm saving BP for the next chapter. I know that I would easily finish the rift before it closes either way but the fragment feast might help those that don't play that much or who don't like the tome challenges to get to the end more easily.

Confusing map design is not an integral element of Castlevania aside from Simon's Quest.

Correct. It really wasn't until Symphony of the Night that the maps got that way. Castlevania 1, Dracula's Curse, Super Castlevania 4, Castlevania the Adventure, Belmont's Revenge, Bloodlines, Rondo of Blood and Dracula X all had linear platforming stages.

Simon's Quest attempted some RPG elements with an open map but for a long time was considered the black sheep of Castlevania games.

i would guess for challenges for example. I had a challenge active for sacrifices for example. Glyphs and other stuff are still possible! (Almost got the avoid 3 basic hits just now…)

If anyone was struggling with "Earn 3 Unbroken emblems of Iridescent quality" from tome 16, this is the mode to get it. I just got 2 in the last half hour.

  • I agree it's fun, but I see the novelty of it wearing off quickly.

For anyone who doesn't know, tome challenges can still be achieved in this mode. So if you have any pending challenges to "kill X survivors by any means" or "kill the obsession X times" or "escape through the hatch" this is a good mode for those.

  • I agree. At least you can't go back a level, but it would suck if you were only one pip away from the next grade. For anyone who cares, play the regular game mode until you advance a grade before trying the giant Oni mode.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

would a giant Oni even work on The Game?

Oh it does. Must not be working properly for some. I know my game had to update, so maybe it requires a restart if it's not working correctly.

It's hilarious playing both as and against giant Oni. I think the novelty will be short lived, but it was a nice surprise today.

  • @MARTAS123 said:

This game is already completely broken and unplayable. Shame on you Behavior Interactive. The game is already making money for you, so don't do anything with it. It's getting worse and worse.

I wholeheartedly disagree. I enjoy and look forward to playing both roles. Sure there are some frustrating moments and there is much room for improvement but broken and unplayable are pretty far off the mark.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Iirc their heads are only available as rewards for completing Level 2, which become available Monday

They are indeed the level 2 completion rewards. You can see level 2 by selecting either head on the reward screen then clicking 'Go to the event tome"

  • "Hit 10 survivor(s) within 30 seconds of them being revealed by an aura reading ability."

For anyone who hasn't completed this one yet, you can get two hits off the same survivor if you can catch them fast enough.

I would suggest Nowhere to Hide, Furtive Chase, and Lightborn. These give aura reading with survivors close by as opposed to something like BBQ or Territorial which require distance.

It looks like they are much rarer than before. I spent the 1 Million BPs to get at least one Offering and one Map on every Survivor and I got way less than before. I barely got one Offering on the last 4 Survivors compared to the 37 Survivors where I got at least one Offering per Survivor with 2 Million BPs I had before.

I highly doubt this is a coincidence.

I like to collect at least one event offering for every character too, and I've also noticed that they seem far rarer this evening than yesterday.

I get this too. Anyone needing a temp solution to this, you can save your state by: -

    • Return to main menu.
    • Open the options menu.
    • Changing a setting. I use the Beta tab and modify the FoV slider up 1 and back again.
    • Then save and close.

You'll know its saved when you see the 3 red entity claws spiral in.

I've tried this workaround and it seems to do the trick. I forget to do it most of the time, though, so I hope the issue gets fixed for good soon.

  • There are color blindness settings that can change some of the colors. That's the only way I know of in-game.

  • I'm guessing it has something to do with the Iron Maiden cosmetics that are coming. I think when you equip one an Iron Maiden song plays. Streamers and content creators would possibly get a copyright strike if they couldn't disable it.

  • @CountOfTheFog said:

    Scratched Mirror

I like Vanity Mirror with Dead Rabbit to reduce my Evil Within II terror radius. Add Monitor and Abuse to further decrease the TR when not in chase and you can still effectively sneak up on survivors without the reduced movement speed and lunge distance.

  • It is really getting annoying. Loadout and cosmetics reset every time the game is opened.

  • I cannot in any way imagine how no sound could possibly make the game easier for either role. Care to explain?

Most other games I play with the sound turned down or off but for DbD I always wear good quality over the ear headphones so I can hear everything.

  • You can, but it depends.

Let's say you have 1,800,000 BP. You can still earn 200,000 from games. If you enter a code for 100,000, you will have 1,900,000 total but can still earn up to 200,000 from playing games because the 100,000 from the code wouldn't count toward the cap.
