  • I can’t say I have gotten three disconnects, but I can genuinely claim having more games WITH a disconnect then without. Not including the games where killers disconnect at the loadout screen.

Survivors who DC are selfinsh too, DCing is the worst

Also, Cannibals eat flesh, not bone.

I’m pretty sure all you need to do to be a cannibal is eat people, and the bone marrow is something that would be consumable, and the. Boiling the bones would provide you a broth.

A cannibal would totally eat bones or find a way to remove them and utilize them for a supper if desired.

Bone is not edible. You can swallow it, sure, but it just ######### up your digestive system. That's why cannibals don't eat bone.

I mentioned consuming the bone marrow and removing bone to boil and create a broth. Not literally eating the bone like it’s a carrot.

There's no evidence lore-wise that Lisa had her arm removed. The model not having a right arm is economics 101: don't spend unnecessary resources on creating a model for something that will constantly be replaced by a different model anyways. Creating a Killer costs the devs several thousand dollars (the Spirit cost about 35 grand). Not having to model her right arm would save a lot of money.

If you read my post I made a similar point about the model design. I didn’t claim at any point that her arm was removed. I said it was a believably concept to be introduced by the originating poster of this thread.

  • Players who DC are the worst! I hate almost making it out and then the killer DCs at last minute, or when a survivor DCs at a hook.

  • I used to do this all the time until I learned it doesn’t speed the hook process, lol.

  • I think it’s fun and use it with Claudette, and sometimes with David or someone else, but typically I try and only use it with a specific build with a specific costume or I use it just with Claudette. This game is a ton of fun without the perk and I can say as a mix of killer and survivor that I almost never play with it.

I’d be okay if they removed it from the game completely and gave Claudette a different perk. It’s cool to try it with different perks with different people but I definitely feel like it’s used by everyone and it’s insane how many people refuse to play a game without it.

You should change this title to "Fix long hair".

Agreed! I like how it glitches because I think it visually looks kind of cool, but it needs to be fixed. Feng Min, Jake Park, Kate Denson, and Meg Thomas all have long hair that do slightly weird effects at times. Min and Kate are the worst though.

  • I think David and Adam are total babes! I don’t think I could get it on with someone ho murders me once a week, lol.

Why does everybody hate the swamp maps? I personally love the swamp as a survivor. Not so much as a killer. Only maps I TRULY hate as a survivor is the hospital and the game.

I dislike it because I’ve played the swamp and cornfield more times than any oth r map. Lol. I like them, I just was to see the other ones more. Except maybe the wraiths junkyard level. I hate that giant wall of cars. Lol.

  • I’d totally be down for bloodhound granting the spirit the ability to track blood with the bonus. I think a perk slot is worth granting her that ability. I haven’t played against her or with her yet but she looks fun! Her power sounds like it’ll be one of my favorites simply for the mind-screwiness of the power.

I don't think he gets faster while cloaking. Oh and he has no such clapper.

This makes the sound global. Great for just annoying the crap out of survivors that pissed you off ^_^

Does that make it global though? Yes, you can't discern the distance, but I thought it was (without the clapper) getting quieter the more you were away from it. However, my first sentence still stands.

Only way to make the distance ambiguous it has to be global. Anything that isn't unlimited in range is quieter the further you are until you can't hear it.

I think you’re correct, but I’m wondering if they meant that the radius would be the same but the volume for the bell is the same at the edge as it would be by the source. So I think they were considering not being able to track if you’re almost out of range or if you’re right next to him. It would cause you to panic possibly and run in a direction that might be towards the killer.

autodidact was great on the PTB but now they nerfed alot it takes along time to heal youre teammate so devs plz make Autodidact Great Again

They did it to prevent it from being another instaheal. That and spinechill makes it like an instaheal. Now, imagine 4 survivors with it. All perks must be made with the fact that survivors can run 4 of them, also unnerving increases chances and that is common so giving peeps instaheals.

well at least make a increase the chance of skillcheck

Once again, increased chances makes it an instaheal if kept at 80%. With increased chance from spine chill or unnerving, it occurs close 20% often, the 80% makes it quick. 3 second heals.

Is lower then 80%, I think they reduced it to 50%, and instead of starting off with a 20% penalty, you get a 25% penalty?

I think it’s well balanced though, and feel it was gonna be a meta perk with Botany, Spine Chill and We’ll Make It.

You’d be the perfect run in there, heal them, and get out before the killer even shows up type character. I man Empathy, Borrowed Time and Deliverance could all be paired with this for being an “emergency medic” class.

  • I'd so dig getting a goth chick, cheerleader, beauty queen, librarian, punk, and another jock archetype aside from david and meg.

  • I wanna know what that light in the basement is, and why it's there. If the entity doesn't like light then why would it have it's strongest position in the map be a place where tons of lights is surrounding it? What if the entity needs light, or comes from light? I wonder if the survivors are being tricked to help the entity somehow. Maybe they are opening these actual gates for the entity to get into the real world? Are they trapped in a literal limbo? Maybe they all killed someone and don't remember, so they are going through the hell of reliving survival for their life, knowing eventually they will die. and it's forever. Maybe Meg killed her mom? maybe dwight snapped and killed his negligent coworkers?

  • I’m excited for a Make a you Choice, Rancor, NOED and Hex: Haunted Ground build. ^_^

Because you can simply state one is stronger than the other for the sake of story and game mechanics.

  • I love when playing Feng Min and her ponytail grows like three feet and spirals around :p

Also I didn't see when Kate's location was given away because of her hair.

  • That would be amazing!

It could be a situation where all four are brought to three battles, one with each killer. Meg can die in the first against the trapper after being caught in a bear trap. When the survivors make it out and see Meg isn't at camp they worry, but she's right there again in the second battle. Claudette dies in the second battle against the wraith, healing others before herself and leaving a blood trail. In the third battle, the hillbilly gets both Jake and Dwight, but Claudette finds a key and gets Meg and her to escape.

The end presents Claudette and Meg waking up by the light of the campfire, only to realize they are by a burning barrel at the asylum, and you see the nurse teleport into view in the background. Min is working on a generator nearby while Nea quietly climbs over a window and shushes them.

The sequel would have Jake and Dwight paired with David and Kate going against the huntress. Kate and Dwight get out, David takes a hook for Jake who ends up being the last in the match and manages to dismantle all the hooks before being Mori'd. And return to Nea, Meg, Claudette and Min vs the nurse. All four survive the nurse but not before each one getting hooked.

Then Kate, Jake, Meg and Claudette vs the Clown, while Dwight, Nea, Min and David vs the Doctor.

Final Battle is Ace, Nea, Jake and Min vs the Hag. for movie

Actually if you look at Benedicts journal entries on the survivors at least Kate anyway he has heard her singing.

Meaning it seems that outside of the trials the survivors can speak and talk with each other but it seems like The Entity takes that ability away once they actually start the trial.

This could also mean that the killers able to speak as well just not when there in trial but it's debatable considering the killers don't interact with each other and definitely don't interact with the survivors outside of the trial.

I remember one of the questions for the developers being "why don't survivors speak during trials" and the answer was "Perhaps their lips were too salty". Vigo's jar of salty lips is an offering that grants luck bonuses. Did Vigo collect lips from the bodies of other survivors? The bodies disappear so did Vigo need to take them before a survivor died? Were they taken willingly?

combined with Dark sense the killer never finds me and I never see him all game.

IDC about if the killer is enjoying the game or not . I don't care what he even thinks but I will admit this is unfair

has this always been this way or have you experienced this

I've never experienced that, but I have experienced going into a game just yesterday and three of us were asleep at the very beginning of the game for some reason on the PS4. The fourth person was put to sleep within seconds and generator explosions didn't wake anyone up. Ive almost had no experience with glitches so to get so many was weird. I would have thought it was a hacker if it wasn't on the PS4, lol.

  • It could work, but I feel like it has a really good chance on being comedic and thus taking away from the atmosphere.

That's partly why they didn't want to do dolls, kids show mascots, or clowns. Well they also said something about clowns being too common a fear or something. But I never read it directly, someone just told me about that second part.

I'd be reluctant to try it, but i'd give it a test.

Another perk to fix those broken hex perks? Sounds like a waste of a perk slot. but at least ruin would last longer than 20sec like this.

I don't look at it as fixing broken totem perks. I look at it as a perk empowering the Hex system and making it even tougher. This with NOED means way more likely they won't be able to find all 8 totems and destroy them as easily as 5. It nearly doubles the effort and time of the challenge.

    @TheHourMan said:
This would bea little too strong I think. Maybe just have it jump once at rank 3

I feel that making Hex Perks more difficult to be removes isn't a terrible idea. They are meant to be difficult to remove, and they should have a higher risk. Yeah they are strong perks typically, but when doing this you are effectively depowering the killer and removing an entire perk. That's a big deal. Especially if it's 3-4 perks.

I can see not liking more of a challenge in that area, but i think it would add some interesting gameplay.

I am ok with the suggestion, but the game would suffer from it. I don't want to argue comms vs SWF vs discord etc.

If that would happen the game would suffer because the lag to the host killer would be nearly unbearable for some killers. There is enough lag since the game is hosted client side, just imagine that much more bandwidth being flooded so players could talk.

No thank you for the Quality of Life that this prevents from taking a dive. Now if Dedicated servers were a thing....we may have a different discussion.

That's a good point, that would add a lot more lag potential. It would need a reliable dedicated server first. But I also agree that it would be potentially toxic for the host killer to have to listen to survivors harass and be toxic toward them.

It would be neat if maybe a noise alert happened in game for the killer when the game recognized noise or communication by a survivor over the mic. It would make it slightly more risky to talk at times like a chase o while needing to hide, so,survivors could, only communicate when they are already safe without alerting the killer.

I also love the idea of them implementing a 5 way voice chat that goe sup in volume as you get closer to a survivor. I have no idea how complicated that might be, but it would be awesome to hear survivors talk when you’re close by them, be they communicating to you as another survivor or when you’re nearby as the killer. It would add more intensity and tactful playing. I think it would be pretty exciting if you knew the killer heard you the closer her got to you.

But then, if you add the risk of getting caught while using voice chat, SWF will still use Skype or Discord because there is no risk to using those.

I still think it would be a really cool feature in the game, and when people Dd use it, it would make the games so much more exciting :D

    cool

    Exactly.

  • Group A The Hag, The Nurse, The Wraith and then Group B The Cannibal, Huntress and Hillbilly for different reasons.

I pity both because they were corrupt, and didn't intend to be in this predicament. Group A was tortured from what we know, and the Nurse has been here the longest of the killers. I remember that being said in a written down Q&A. The Hag is a body of revenge because being eaten alive. The nurse just wanted to heal people. The Wraith died trying to save someones life.

Group B is full of people who have stunted emotional maturity. The Cannibal has been brainwashed and used by his family, and is acting out of fear of others. The Huntress was taught to look at everything as prey, and deeply desires a daughter to protect because of unresolved mother issues. The Hillbilly was taught to view himself as a monster ever since the young age of developing object permanence. He knows nothing but that sort of treatment. All three were shown that people are evil at a young age, and into adulthood they still lack the ability to even the reason to try and understand or trust their prey.

The Trapper could arguably be said to not be a terrible as some of the others. He was killing for his father, so he may be doing it out of love and not fear, and that means he isn't a complete sociopath. His rationality is whats at fault, he didn't understand it was wrong if it is in the name of family and love.

Amanda is next in line. She thinks it all makes sense and needs to happen. She didn't start off wanting to kill either I suppose, but she snapped at her own moment of having a near death experience.

The doctor has some signs of possibly being good, or a at least initially reasonable person, but only by connotation. His history implies his mind started to twist and he started doing harsher forms of torture. But then that shows his interest in the activity and desire to continue his line of work. He's probably one of the worse. Michael is a souless body that is possessed by evil in some films, and in others a sociopath who can't sympathize or feel to an extreme and just kills because he can. Freddy is implicitly a pedophile in the original and explicitly in the remake. The Clown just enjoys killing and is a creeper with fingers.

And last is The Spirit who I very much so have sympathy for. She appears scared and angry and confused, constantly switching between these emotions and responding erratically. I don't think she knows what she is doing or is fully in control. Even if part of her wants to do this.

    Rowdy ruff boys?

This right here. I'm so glad I wasn't the only one thinking this xp

  • I got 20 main changes numbered here.

    1) Weaken the sharable Tier 3 Perks, and Make a Tier 4 perk for the originating survivor.

    2) Make it so survivors can hide inside chests that have already been searched and relieved of their item. Make make getting out of and into the chest is a little slower.

    3) Make it so there is 1 extra Hex Totem each game as a standard.

    4) Make it so survivors have to open the hatch, and give the killer the ability to close the hatch

    5) I'd add a second sacrifice method.
ie; Probably a bed/altar with a spike that stabs into the characters left shoulder. Maybe also a Pyre like structure, like a wooden post, that you're tied to. Both can be sabotaged as well.

    6) Make Sprint Burst only work every 60 seconds, but make it so you push a button to activate Dead Hard.

    7) Make it so you have to fill generators with fuel. Fuel slows your speed by 3%.

    8) Add the ability to quietly place pallets for survivors, let the killer lower pallets and break them.

    9) Each DCing survivor gives the killer 1k BP, when a killer DC's they provide 1k BP to each survivor.

    10) Dedicated servers

    11) BBQ and Chili shows survivors nearby the hook an ally is on for 30/35/40 seconds, not distant survivors.

    12) I'd make trash cans that survivors can throw down which hinder speed by 5% for both killer and survivors if you run through the mess. Doesn't stun the killer.

    13) Add doors that the killer slam open without slowing down. The main purpose of an unlocked door is to block line of sight. This can be great for jump scares if the killer slams it open and rushes at you. Think of the generator on the bottom floor by the stairs in the Halloween level. Thats a perfect spot to cause someone to screw up a skill check and make them panic. When a door is locked, the killer needs to break it like a pallet which will remove it permanently.

    14) Keys: I'd make is so if you bring a key, you can lock and unlock doors. Locking the door makes it so the killer has to break through the door instead of being able to slam it open. You can't lock a door without a key.

    15) I'd add the ability to kick a survivor away if they try and remove you from the hook.

    16) Add the gestures "Stop", a palm being held out, and "Shhhh!", the survivor puts their finger to their lips.

    17) Give Self Care a different button than Unhook to avoid healing yourself in front of your ally and waste time.

    18) Killers can repair Hooks if they want, slightly faster then Saboteur, and keeps its progress like saboteur.

    19) Add ropes survivors can climb to windows. If a killer shakes the rope, survivors fall to ground and must take a few seconds to get up by holding R1. killers pick you up and throw you over the shoulder while you're down.

    20) Make it so you can fill up a tool box or med kit at the respective 10% speed of saboteur or heal, but only at specific locations. Chests for toolboxes, and 1 large red box fixed onto a wall right outside of the killer basement. It would be great bait to get someone there.

  • This is something I genuinely feel should exist as well. I think that you shouldn’t be able t9 struggle. That would definitely draw out the end of the game way too much. But you should get your three attempts if you haven’t yet been hooked.

  • I like it all except I think the last two Perl’s of each character should be weakened.

The killer should either have a cool down on how many generators he can explode at range, or he has an ability to reduce generator work at range without even getting all that close to it. Some games rely on you building up a third of a gen and hiding, and then working on another and building it to half, run back to the other and build it up some, etc. this movement around the map adds more to the gameplay for both survivor and killer, and I think personally it would take away some of the fun.

The pallet part is also too strong. It makes the new killers perk that breaks pallets useless essntially. I like the idea because it could end chases. Someone throws down a pallet and you don’t stop because it shatters as you walk towards it. That would be sick, but it’s overpowered. Especially when paired with the generator part.

Gamma-Touched should be 4/5/6 seconds, not 12. They made blood and scratches to track your prey. This one takes away a lot of the skill, and even the. Being bake to hit someone and see them for six seconds makes it so you will more likely find then always. I like this perk as a killer, but as a survivor it sounds not fun and ruins any of the skill involved in the game for hiding.

I love the idea of another one bites the dust. I would hate experiencing it as a survivor, but at the same time I think that betrayal would add to the game, it should just down a survivor though, it should reduce their health state by 1. Also it shouldn’t give someone sprintburst for longer than spring burst lasts, it’s only three seconds right? You should maybe not leave scratch marks for 3/4/5 seconds or something to show his sleuthing skills, and make a sneaky get away.

Trained senses also seems strong. 1/1.5/2 seconds makes more sense to me. The survivor isn’t really supposed to know where the killer is too much. Kindred and dark sense already do a good job, and I think if you have a perk that makes the killer glow for so long, people will see it and always run the other way. He should blink in and out if at all, otherwise you’ve given people a perk that will let you always track the killer. This would make several killers powers and functionality obsolete I feel.

Dirt money is inter sting but it also needs to be tweaked because this will just add a huge level of toxicity into the game by rewarding people for betraying random players. I love the idea of a betrayer character, but he is built to farm points right now.

The map idea is awesome and I enjoy the whole flamethrower thing. Very My Bloody Valentine meets The Thing in a sense.

  • What was the originally proposed change that caused the survivors to post bad reviews?

I’m really curious what change would cause that reaction. I wouldn’t mind the ability getting a nerf myself, I never use it really. Maybe make it so that each time you do it, it takes a second longer? Something should change about it.

Missing maps? Also please, no more swamp...

There was a Lake map for the swamp that wasn’t released. I think that would be cool.

the doctor is just fine if you stay out of the red ranks.

That's not what the OP is asking. I have seen somewhere that Snap Out Of It was considered "healing," so it would make sense for killer perks that affect healing would therefore affect Snap Out Of It. If they don't consider it "healing" then they need to address their initial statement saying otherwise.

On the flip side, maybe they reconsidered Snap Out Of It as NOT a healing action, because it's mental healing, not physical healing? I'm not sure.

Problem there is Botany still effects it and unless Claudette brought her pipe I'm not so sure those are mental healing herbs.

She would still be able to discern what plants have calming effects on others.

Well saying that caulorophobia is a psychological fear of clowns so why woudlnt it hinder psychological healing?

If we are getting technical here it doesn’t make sense to experience caulorophobia with the doctors abilities since he isn’t a clown and you don’t hallucinate clowns. The phobia would be pointless as a perk once you realized it was a doctor and the survivors realized the clown wasn’t showing up.

    mind blown.

still dont know why caulorophobia works on other killers either xD

Lol, right?! Mind is so blown. Maybe they are all clowns at heart, hiding behind a psycho-murdery mask

Let me tell you its difficult to perform mental medical test on patients and write a prescription while a deranged killer is after you. It took me nearly double the time to get my medical degree because of this.

I could so see Claudette saying that!

“While you all were freaking out about cellular respiration, I had to practice plant taxonomy while hanging from a hook and wrestling a spider demon. “

“Youre tired of using flash cards? Be glad you didn’t have to deal with my resources.” claudette pulls out a chunk of tree bark from behind her that’s covered in blood

    :p

Before adding this survivor there were an equal amount of playable men and women. Do you want it to be unbalanced with more women? Don’t get me wrong, I was hoping for a female survivor too, but this survivor is a babe, and his abilities are neato! And he’s a teacher, how do you know he didn’t work at the university the killer went to?

Actually there are more ''man'' killers and survivors. and what I am mentioning, is that there is the SAME amount of men and women. If you do not understand that well then. Of course there must always be more men and women in all the games, right? There can not be the same amount. For me as a woman it is a lack of respect towards my person that has more choice to have to catch men than to take women. I want the SAME amount, not some more than others.

Okay, and I don’t identify as male or female. And there are no non-binary characters. My gender identity is even less represented then the female community. Would I love one, yes. Do I expect it to happen, honestly no.

I sympathize with you in wanting to have equality and inclusion in this game, and I feel it has room to grow and the developers are going to try and achieve that. But there will always be an imbalance in a game where they make updates and add new people. Each time someone new is added, it tips the scale in a different direction.

I’d love more female survivors and killers too. But you’re correct in stating that there can’t be the same amount. I do think that because it’s the horror genre that we have the possibility of having more female survivors eventually simply because in horror culture the concept of a scream queen/final girl is a huge.

Also, when Nea was released, it tipped in the favor of female. Then Feng was released. Then bill, women still being the majority for survivor. Also if you pay attention it tends to be a male and female released as a standard now.

Laurie and Michael, ace and the hag, David and the huntress, Tapp and the Pig, Kate and the clown, Adam and the spirit. All male+female releases.

Nea was released with a lady, and then we got two solo men, bill a survivor and Leatherface a male killer.

Quinten and Freddy throw this off, but that’s kinda because they couldn’t get the rights to Nancy, and thought Quinten would be a more recognizable face since he was one of the two main characters of the newest nightmare on elm street film.

The original survivors were 2 woman and 2 men. The only thing that truly offsets it was that the first three killers were dudes. Well, and Quinten. But that was already covered.

  • You all realize race and ethnicity are not the same thing? You can’t discern someone’s ethnicity off of physical characteristics. Ethnicity is more cultural, and closer to nationality. Race is a socially constructed way to categorize people based on physical characteristics, first used to establish a stronger class system based on differing physical appearances.

They never state where he was born or anything about his family from what I’ve read, but we know he went to Yale and worked for the CIA. Only Us citizens can work for the CIA I believe with th exceptional of specific fields involving international relations and diplomacy I believe. But even then I think you need duel citizenship. And even then that is based specifically on his nationality which is different in some ways to ethnicity, but it seems the closest thing to a culture we have read about him knowing and being involved.

He was going to be based off of this Chinese doctor that tried to use electro shock therapy to treat different mental issues like internet addiction, etc. he was originally supposed to pair with Feng Min who was a computer game addict who let it take over her life, and eventually lead to alcohol abuse. Orion is right in referencing that censorship issues probably came into play, so they scraped that background.

They left his origins purposefully blank, and people edited the wiki based on their best assumption. Maybe there is an official statement out there as to what his race and ethnicity are but if so it might be something casually stated in a developers blog somewhere that isn’t very concrete. Maybe when we get another Q&A some people can ask about the origins of him and other killers.

The most official thing is that he had spent from college until death as a US citizen in the US culture. When it comes to race, for all we know he is half Chinese and half something else(maybe of black origin). His eyes and mouth are stretched and he is missing flesh and muscle on his face so I doubt he resembles what he used to look like all too much with the exception of the nose. And you cant perfectly assess what ethnicity he is simply because he has a wide nose,
