  • Personally I would like this when playing a killer and dislike it when playing a survivor.

  • I love longer games myself, but I feel more mechanics need to be implemented before it can feel rewarding to play a long session. More rewards, a third stage in the game outside of the gen repairs stage and end game collapse.

  • Yay for David coming out 👻👻👻👻👻👻

  • Aim multiple of her crows at generators so you can track survivor generator progression

  • I prefer solo because people do poorly and then blame you because they aren't successful. And like, panic/get angry when you don't do what they want you to. I'd rather just play without hearing others. Plus I think people talking is more of a distraction than an aid. ADHD brain here.

  • 😂

I can respect not enjoying it, but I LOVE that map. If anything I want them to get expanded licensing so that they add more tiles with different trap rooms in the films, and then let the tiles switch around their spawn locations more often.

  • I do it when a player is being particularly a jerk, or if the killer gave me a good chase but didn't catch anyone

Dead hard literally works like it supposed to since release. they just fixed dedicated problem. Changing dead hard means real changes, you know, how they changed deathslinger because he was unfun to play against

You can argue about if dead hard was changed or not but you know what? it became even more unfun to play against and devs done nothing to fix this, unlike deathslinger.

I don't understand why i have to explain this. my post was clear as mountain river

You're fretting over semantics and clearly don't know how to communicate dude. There was a literal change. It was a "real" change, because now it functions differently. It functions differently in the manner that it now works properly. You don't seem to understand the meaning of the words you're using, and are claiming to be "clear as a mountain river" which shows you don't understand interpersonal communication skills.

There is no argument as to whether or not it changed, lol. You're more than welcome to want to, but in that circumstance you're simply more focused on being correct than recognizing what's literal and real.

The devs made the change on purpose, and it's supposed to help survivors so of course they aren't going to "fix" what isn't broken anymore. It being annoying is inevitable when it's a perk specifically used to be invulnerable for half a second in timed right. I don't get why I have to explain that.

I said nothing about DH fix and i said nothing about how fun is to play as DS. some people can't read

You literally said "they never change dead hard".

I was referencing how they HAD changed it. Do you not see the pathway of thought there? Because it seem clear to me. Especially since this thread is about how Dead Hard has changed.

Also Slinger is still fun to play as killer +shrug+ not sure why you're struggling, but he was hardly nerfed. They weakened and empowered him at the same time.

    That's already a fuggin' lie, He's dead..

if you never played slinger BEFORE the update, you don't have the actual knowledge to see how decent / good he was,

Just because you're bad with him now doesn't mean everyone is ;)

  • @landromat said:

I like how slinger got nerfed because he was not fun to play against but they never change dead hard

Before if you pressed deadhead at the correct time, and dodged it, sometimes you would still be downed because the killers game didn't register that you dodged before their side registered that they hit you.

Now I believe the game synchs better and you don't sometimes succeed and sometimes fail for hitting it at the right time, but succeed if you timed the move appropriately.

Also Slinger is still fun to play as killer +shrug+ not sure why you're struggling, but he was hardly nerfed. They weakened and empowered him at the same time.

Wait, when did they say we would be able to keep the old names? I thought I read the names were changing for everyone, lol.

Who exactly told you that you would get to keep the names? A forum user? A Dev? A friend?

  • This is my concept I'm making up right now, lol

VAMPIRE KILLER WITH CLAWED WINGS and a Paralyzing Hypnosis

The flight killer needs a ranged attack that effects an area, or pin point on one survivor

    FLIGHT POWER

    • Going from Grounded to Levitation and Levitation to Flight is near instant ( 1 second), but going from flight to grounded or levitation to grounded takes a few seconds (2-4)
    • You can't harm survivors in flight mode with wings since you are using them to levitate/fly.
    • Flight is limited to being only at tall as the buildings/stories, and only levitation is possible indoors
    • levitation allows you to ignore certain terrain like fallen pallets, but you can be knocked out of levitation if hit by a fallen pallet.
    • Flashlights and Mirrors can stun killer or bring them to grounded mode.
    • Killer can only harm one survivor at a time when grounded
    • The grounding process takes time too, but does an area attack around killer when landing
    • The killer would move faster in flight/levitate mode, but move MUCH slower when grounded.

PRIMARY POWER: Ranged Area Attack, effects everyone in circle of affect.

    • 2-3 meters of a circle area are affected by ranged power
    • It doesn't allow you to aim it too close to you, and must be at at a minimum distance, maybe 8-12 meters?
    • immobilization is the base kit for this attack, but it could can cause damage with an add on.

SECONDARY POWER: Paralytic Gaze Beam, effects a single survivor.

    • It's stronger with a higher vantage point because of sight, but still useful when grounded.
    • Killers need "eye contact"/a consistent gaze like Ghost Face needs to expose someone
    • This power doesn't expose them, but immobilizes them
    • Flight immobilization is stronger to give the killer time to travel and disembark/land.
    • survivors experience hinderance after breaking from from immobilization based on if the killer has a longer view of survivor

MIRROR ITEM: only present when this Killer is played

    • There is a new item, the mirror, that random appears in places on the map
    • Only 2-3 are present on a map at a time depending on # of survivors. 3 for 4 survivors, 2 for 3-1 survivors.
    • This item doesn't allow you to hold another item
    • Mirror can us used to break the paralytic gaze beam of the killer when another survivor is captured
    • You can use the mirror to protect yourself too, but if you do it shatters and you seek out another that appears randomly on the map.
    • Flashlights and new mirror item can hinder or even stun killer in flight mode, but not when grounded.
    • There are mirrors around the map that serve as an item

  • I'm guessing Mrs Violet Waxcap is from the Northern East Coast of the US, like Massachusetts in Boston or Salem.

  • Hahah, I thought you were making fun of Mikaela and calling her "Violet Waxcap" for a moment 🤣 I love Mikaela but I might have to start called her Violet Waxcap sometimes now

As for changing the add on, with Stranger Things making a leave I don't know if we will ever see tweaks in the add ons for the demogorgon if they don't do it in the next few weeks, and they may not have the legal rights to change them without the add ons being reviewed by a representative with behavior.

  • I think the faces look good, but the hair on Feng, and a few other's looks like awkward ill fitting wigs.

Don't fire the person, but they should definitely have worked on the images being of a nicer quality.

  • Those hateful people use empathy to redirect the killers attention onto you. Don't be sad that the selfish players don't have that perk. Trust it's a nightmare when a selfish player uses it

  • I think you're certainly entitled to your opinion here and perhaps you're correct. But I disagree; I think it'll persist until a potential DbD sequel comes out. I have been around since the release of the huntress and David, so not quite as long as you but close, and I have stuck around as both a survivor and killer player and will continue to do so. And I feel there are other's that are in my boat as well.

There are issues in the game, but that's inevitable with an asymmetrical game, I 100% believe that. A new game from a different group will have similar problems.

  • You know normally I'm opposed to anything that makes a killer struggle with gender control, but with an event I feel like I get generator briefing from Killers every other game, and then like 1 out of 6 or 7 games I meet a killer who compensates by letting people just do them by standing in place.

  • Not sure. I think maybe in the 30s with survivor, and in the 20s in killer somewhere.

Normally I have a win streak of 3-4 as survivor, and 5-7 as killer, even though I've had a longer winning streak with survivor.

Yes buy you have to dovthar on EVERY character, and if you prestige do it again. It takes at least 2500 hours to get everything for every character, and that's a big grind. It took me a year and a half to get near 1k, (currently 950) and I don't even get the perks on anybody but like one person if I'm lucky. It's an rng reliant system , over tons of characters, and over 3 prestige if you're a completionist, if that's what you want to call it. Some people may be fine with it , but there is more cons than pros.

I disagree; I think having to acquire perks for each character adds a bit of a challenge to each character. You may not have your perfect build and you try out different combinations of perks that you never would have gunned for or thought of initially and that combo might actually be better than expected whether it's because you were glued to a specific one or because you didn't realize how it compliments your play style. The fact that it makes character's unique with their abilities is what makes it kinda perfect. I do feel they should revamp the blood-web so it allows a sell back function, and so that the perks are separated from the items and offerings would be nice.

Perhaps they could set up a skill tree system that allows you to focus on specific perks, which would be my dream. I never wanna skip out on a perk, but sometimes I don't want a specific character to have a perk. Like I don't want to give Adam or Jeff "Lightweight" or "Lithe", but I might wanna give them Empathy, give Adam Alert, and give Elodie "Streetwise" , etc.

I feel it would be nice to give us the chance to pick specific perks so we can give pers based on your own perceived personality of them and make them feel more like character classes.

Also I can appreciate that I've gone on a tangent and that you don't like those issues, but those issues aren't fixed with an increased blood point cap, those issues are resolved in different ways, like shared perk access, or tactful with how you pick perks and level people up. it shouldn't take 2500 hours to max a character out, but it CAN. It won't be the average though. I feel like it's taken considerably less time for me to P3 and max out the skills of a character.

  • I agree, I think that makes sense.

  • I actually don't mind the cap, would like shard exchange but it'll never happen sadly, and I like leveling the abilities and don't want them to simply be tier 3 right away

  • I LOVE this idea! It would be infuriating to experience, lol. But it's such a classic trope!

  • @Jarol said:

I would like it to be like the first option, but the difference of giving it 8 traps in total, but I would give it more the mask trap in saw 2 than the necklace trap in saw 3, I mean, it would be good to make the most of its main power instead of ducking and ambushing a survivor.

Really it wouldn't be the worst to include both the Iron Maiden Trap from 2 AND the Shotgun Necklace from 3. The issue with the Iron Maiden Mask is that it would do the same thing as the Reverse Bear Trap so it wouldn't add a new mechanic to the game, just a different graphical effect

  • I hope for a killer from RE 8: Village. Jack and his family are cool but not distinct enough IMO. I guess they would give the game a hillbilly family vibe it they did a legion thing and did all the members! :D I'd dig that.

Nemesis and Mister X are not gonna fit as well as people wish though. The size reduction would make them all feel odd.

  • Jake is the one I'm genuinely most excited for now :D

Id love to know where you got those numbers since the average is 2k for the best killers besides freddy according to the Devs themselves (and Freddy is getting nerfed now anyways)

Actually I'm confused where you got your numbers from because last time I saw the devs release statistics about kills it averaged between 2 to 3 kills, not a solid 50%. The person you're responding to seemed to have a more accurate percentage of about 2 kills and sometimes 3, as opposed to simply 2.

  • Billy was one of the only killers I didn't enjoy playing against. I enjoy going against the spirit, but billy, personally, felt less challenging and more annoying to go up against.

I haven't personally played billy since his update though, so perhaps I will hate playing him now with the changes?

Not to sound homophobic but what's up with Lgbt and Horror? Every time I'm looking around in horror and in the forums I tend to hear, and see a lot of people saying they are Lgbt, or other a lot, and it just mind boggles me to see a lot of this. Not that I have a problem, but I'm just curious, what is the connection or reason that I'm not seeing?

It’s not homophobic to ask why the correlation exists and if there’s a direct causation instead of coincidence.

when you’re from a marginalized demographic it’s natural to be drawn toward a medium that allows you to jump between the survivir and killer. We often have to survive while being viewed as the monster.

Plus since horror is a medium for processing trauma and seeking catharsis it also makes sense for marginalized groups to be drawn toward it with the trauma they face in the regular.

also since horror has a history of mistreating marginalized groups, it’s great to see how it’s evolved to be more inclusive over the decades while other genres are not quite as fast in doing those things.

there are a bunch of reasons that are involved with it

I wouldn't mind if Open-Handed got a small effect with it so it always has value regardless of other perks. It would also be nice for Adept Ace.

Luck needs to be changed before I would say Up The Ante needs to be changed. Since right now the biggest issue is luck only does one thing reliably.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1819472#Comment_1819472

Up The Ante + Slippery Meat is around 50% chance to self unhook yourself iirc. I've ran the build a few times and had games turn around because I was able to unhook myself without any set up.

That’s not how probability works. It will only add 12%, making a total of 16% success chance to each attempt if you're the first one hooked. More chances at 16% don't increase your odds to 50%.

i agree with your point about luck developing as a mechanic first.

  • I didn't realize that open hand stacked! Yeah that’s definitely changing my mind there.

But Up the Ante still feels useless unless. I cant see 3-4 people using that as a team, and even if so the odds are still against you in succeeding and it accomplishing something

  • I'd be down for their inclusion, but they aren't on the top of my list.

  • Figuring she is your main killer, what differences did you notice in the huntress?

I'm not sure why you're mentioning Freddy, his ability to achieve a 4k is not affecting the Huntress.

  • Curtain Call is my favorite. I permanently re joined around then after playing for the first month, and it drew me back into the game. I also really love Kate Denson as a character, she seems like a solid final girl archetype.

  • I think this is kind of a fun element to experience in the game. It periodically adds an extra challenge, and it also gives you some really great games to test your survivability and develop new techniques when on different maps. In general when I get tunneled it’s frustrating. But for some reason it doesn’t make me surprised. it can be fun to be playing Laurie strode, your killer is Michael, and you’re his obsession but survive to be the last player.

  • I was thinking it would be cool if we had a city based map, where the border was a giant metal fence structure and through the fence you could see dilapidated buildings and flickering streetlights that went on like a labyrinth

  • No because it provides that’s survivor the chance to find the hatch, and if not the hatch, it gives them the chance to gain points in survival and boldness by avoiding the killer.

the developers will hopefully return to looking at end game for a single slugged survivor to see if there is a way to make that end part more enjoyable, or maybe provide a “bleed out quicker” button or something. But in the end it forms forms a time limit and provides both sides the opportunity to gain points.

  • I'm definitely looking forward to the new perks, and I think that anyone who thinks they are weak is having trouble understanding how to use them in a creative manner.

  • If I was playing killer and that’s happened, I would have just played through the game, or set down the controller to make a sandwich and come back to see if they finished gens/the gates have been opened.

in the end I say the choice is yours as to whether or not this worth the penalty, but really in the end waiting one extra minute isn’t so bad. This whole DC thing only really punishes people who do it a bunch, and that game is enough to recognize that your internet provider is not giving the the service you paid for.

i play killer 40-60% of the time depending on my mood, and this DC thing hasn’t effected me negatively so I’m a little biased here in not having internet issues, but in the end I’m glad DCing punishes any player be they survivor or killer since people abuse it a lot because of not liking the idea of losing.

  • im going to strictly guess The Engineer.

though someone has guessed that name already, they did so with like 4 other names. I’m thinking this is the title that will be given to our favorite cenobite from Hellraiser

If it's not a nerf then why suggest killer get less points for doing their job? The opposite to what op say is to punish survivors who go to same gen over and over with less BP but nobody mention this of course.

If you think is not a nerf then I suggest you do research my friend and you find yourself embarrass situation.

To other yes you can post it say whatever but most will think joke because it just another negative detrimental idea to game instead of positive change like fix sounds or map changes this is punish killers for doing their job which is to eliminate the heroes my friend

You can't ask for a nerf and not expect to put out a nerf equal to it for another side.

You do realize this is not a nerf. Suggesting that point reduction happens for each successive time a survivor gets hooked doesn’t mean there can be an edit in the hooking system to balance that feature. Like more points with the first initial hook, or a bonus for each different survivor they hook in succession, etc.

your logic is faulty to directly claim that it’s a nerf, for you’re lacking the creative thinking necessary to mull over a suggested idea and find a sense on balance. apply critical thinking skills to the question and brainstorm, and maybe you’ll realize your initial thought was an impulsive thought as opposed to a well thought out one
