It's not a scandinavian name at all, so I doubt that. She also doesn't look very scandinavian. I would guess america somewhere.
♀ Name Mikaela – origin, meaning & pronunciation of the name Mikaela
I guess all of these name origin websites have it wrong then. I looked on multiple (mostly Geman) of these and all of them said it was Scandinavian or Swedish variant.
But I agree she doesn’t look Scandinavian and the surname also doesn’t suggest it. Could still be that one of her parents came from there or something.
Mikaela is a Scandinavian name. Reid is red in scottish.
Her last name is more indicative of where/what she is. Her red hair
Source - I'm Irish, there's a billion Reids in Ireland.
Aside. Her backstory is vaguely Gaelic to me in some ways. Seeking magic and such, seems very Druidic. Which given her name and hair colour would make sense. Just my thoughts

I read through her lore, we can maybe narrow some things down
-She’s more than likely from an English speaking country
-Her father took her on sailing lessons a lot, so somewhere near a coast
-Her father made Tacos
-Halloween seems to be a big holiday where ever she lives
I'm guessing Mrs Violet Waxcap is from the Northern East Coast of the US, like Massachusetts in Boston or Salem.
I'm thinking either Ireland or Scotland.
But my feeling says Ireland - Ireland also has a very old connection to Halloween.
Guessing American with potential Scottish/Irish background. Dunno why, she just strikes me that way.
