I just received a notif by launching the game that shows me 500k bp and 600k bp but I only got the 600k blood points.

I do this in less than 5 hours of play.. remember most of you here couldn’t play for more than 10 days. A shame.

No compensation for the fault when this is the most important.. 10 days late on a fault is so loooonnnnnnng.

For me it said 100k and 600k when I started the game now, I only received 600k though.

600k, for not being able to access the game for 2 weeks? Really? Steam has gotten 500k for being unable to access the game for a few hours in the past. By that logic, we should be getting 20m+ BP.

500k BP per day is completely fair, especially since it's been so long without being able to access the game. Bare minimum should be 7m. However, since it was SO LONG, with NO ACCESS at all, 10m is fair imo.

If you include the fact that we were never able to use the “SHOPPINGSPREE” code for 200k BP, that means we really only got 400k for our troubles. Really?

    This is a new low.

BHVR, you know for a fact, that if this happened to Steam, you would've given ALOT more. Many, many millions more. Why be so greedy about it? Windows Store players are already far behind Steam due to lots of codes not working on Windows Store, as well as just having been around for many more years. Giving us 10m BP will not be detrimental to you AT ALL, it will only buy you a little bit of good will from the community, but instead you decide to give us a 400k slap in the face? That amounts to under 28.6k BP per day until the patch was released, which doesn't even seem to have fixed the issue for everyone.

28.6k bp per day that the game was unaccessable. Steam has gotten 500k for a few hours in the past. That clearly shows how little you guys care about us. Why? Why, even when it would cost you nothing at all, since you do not sell bloodpoints in any way, would you treat us MUCH worse than Steam? All you have to do is type in a higher number, one time, to give to us that had the issue, yet you decide to short-change us, for no good reason what so ever.

    Why? @Mandy

  • So, patch released today, and not a mention of any compensation so far. Great. Also no reply to my request to get the "SHOPPINGSPREE” bloodpoint code re-activated for those of us on Windows Store, as none of us could use it before it was deactivated, costing us a further 200k there.

If it was Steam, there's been 500k bp rewards in the past that's been given for less than a day of being unable to access the game. 500k x2 weeks = 7m, plus the 200k for the SHOPPINGSPREE code we couldn't use, plus honestly extra for it taking two weeks to release a patch to fix it, so 10m sounds perfectly fair imo.

Or, again, let us move over to Steam, stop updating the Windows Store version completely, and give us a flat 50m bp on top. It'll save you money and time in the long run, and it'll be much better for those of us on the Windows Store version. It's a win-win, no reason not to do it.

  • Since killer having bad ping is an advantage, one that is often abused by using a VPN to play in a different region, we NEED to be able to see the killers ping in lobby, so that we can dodge their games. It's the only way to make it basically impossible to use a VPN to gain an advantage. It's using a 3rd party tool, to gain an advantage. If it was even close to feasible for BHVR to ban all VPNs (it isn't look at much bigger companies like Netflix or Disney+ who isn't able to avoid it, despite trying), then BHVR would be able to track people and ban them for it. It'd be bad for streamers who are getting DDOSed or has hackers forcibly trying to join their games as has happened in the past, so even then it'd probably be a bad idea. After all, streamers are a good advertisement for DBD and helps bring new players into the game.

Killers using a VPN, or other tools, to artificially increase their ping to gain an advantage, should be punished by survivors being able to see that they have terrible ping in lobby, and therefore dodge their lobbies all together, making it nearly impossible to play games with that way of "cheating".

It's cheating, it just can't be easily bannable, so the community needs a way to sort out the issue themselves. The only way to do that, it to see killers ping in lobby.

  • Are you playing through the xbox client for PC? If so, it'll show in the top left of the client

    ApplicationFrameHost_Yw3Dw6t2bu.png

If you click your name in the top left, and then show profile, you'll see both your player ID as well as your in game name there.

If you're playing through Windows Store, I don't know if there's a way to see it.

I contacted support with my details and was told to wait for the hotfix, saying "I must let you know this investigation could take a while".

I replied citing this thread asking them to fix my account individually before the hotfix and I'm still waiting for a reply.

Sounds like it might be a while before we can play again...

They told me twice as well that it may take some time to fix, I was never told to wait for the hotfix however, and from when I sent my ticket until it was resolved, it took about 18h, though I sent it at what would be late-night in Canada, if that's where the support team is located as well. From first reply to my ticket to solution was about 7.5h. They are clearly able to fix this, but it seems like some may be unfortunate in which person working the support they get to handle their ticket maybe? I requested specifically to be handed over to the part of support that handles tech issues such as this, as that's what Mandy seemed to suggest was the group that could handle this issue, maybe that helped? I'm not sure.

Also, make sure to give them your in-game name, as well as your account name (the one that shows in the top left on the xbox app, name#4digits), if you didn't supply both.

I'm having the same issue (since update) and I found a way that

    I CAN GET IT WORKING!

but it only works when I'm signed in with my girlfriemds account. As soon as I switch back to mine I get the same

    Error code: 8,007

Also, has anyone tried requesting a refund from Microsoft?

You've missed a lot of information in this thread.

It's account based, not your install. You girlfriends account isn't affected obviously, but yours is. You need to contact support, just read through some other posts, or my latest post if you want, to find what you need to do.

  • My account is now fixed as well, surprisingly quickly I must add!

I made a new ticket about 18h ago, got a reply about 10h ago asking for a screenshot of the error which I replied to about 10 minutes later, I then got an email saying they were working on the issue, and then about 2h ago I got another mail saying the issue was fixed. I can indeed now access the game.

In my ticket, I referred back to this thread right away, the posts by Mandy confirming that this was an issue on BHVRs side, not mine or Microsofts, I mentioned that I have tried most of the usual things already (reinstall the game, reset router etc), and asked to not have to go through those steps again, since they have been proven ineffective for this specific issue.

I also supplied the information that I could, which was my in-game name and player ID, I was unable to access my cloud ID, so I could not give them that information. Turns out that it's not needed.

The only thing I had to add to my original ticket, is the screenshot of the error itself. I'm not sure why exactly they would need that, perhaps just for verification that you indeed do have that specific error (I did say I was affected by that error at the start of the ticket).

Anyhow, it seems as though we've gotten some priority on the support-side to get this manually fixed, which is great. I appreciate that it could be handled this quickly, it's just a shame that it had to take over a week, as well as contacting support to manually solve the issue on a case-by-case basis.

The person who emailed me saying my account was fixed, also confirmed that there will be a compensation at a later point, more specifically, she said "Regarding the time you have lost due to this error, please know that we will be sending out a mass compensation to all players who were impacted by this error at a later date. We recommend that you keep an eye on our social media channels, such as Twitter, for more information about when this compensation will be sent to players."

It's a shame that the "SHOPPINGSPREE" 200k bp code has already been deactivated. @Mandy, any chance that the code could be re-activated on Windows Store for another week minimum? Even if we get a compensation for the lost week or more that we haven't been able to access the game, we should still be able to get those 200k like everyone else did. Also, any chance that the rift could be extended by a week or two, since we're all already behind at least that long?

  • With the communitys reaction to the 6.7.0. patch (just look at Steam reviews for example), I assume the hotfix will need to contain some sort of reversal of some changes in the patch to pacify the community, which probably means it'll come a bit later than usual if I would have a guess. I wouldn't be surprised if our issue is just shoved aside once again, and doesn't get solved with the next hotfix, which is why we're now getting recommended to contact support to have the issue manually fixed, even knowing it'll probably take a week or more at best to get it fixed.

As many have already mentioned, contacting support so far hasn't really helped except maybe in a small number of cases. I made a new ticket now, directly pointing to this thread and what's been said here, hoping that I might be able to skip two weeks of "have you tried this?" from support when it's confirmed that the issue is fully on BHVRs side. I'll update with whatever response I get, and if they manage to fix the issue for me personally. As none of my friends are able to access the game right now either, I can't get my cloud-ID though. If that's actually required to get your account fixed, I'm screwed, as is probably the vast majority.

Please, prioritize us and MAKE SURE that we're included in the next hotfix, and push to get it out as soon as possible, even if there's other fixes you wanted to include in the patch. Dealing with minor bugs is a world better than not being able to access the game at all for over a week now. We should be prioritized at this point, and the number 1 focus should be to give us access to the game, even if it comes at the cost that people have to wait another few days or a week to get some minor fixes. This is beyond ridiculous already. Please, don't just ignore us once again.

Same problem! My friend logged into his account in my PC via teamviewer and the game just works normally in Xbox and Steam. I logged my account in his computer and same 8,007 error. The problem is in the account, not in the computer or our internet. Meaning: we cant do anything to solve :/

Wait, I missed this comment earlier.

I'm not in a position to test this right now, as everyone I know who plays the game via Windows Store are unable to play the game as well right now, but if this is true, that could be bad.

It suggests that maybe they screwed up our accounts, not our ability to connect to the game. I've seen a few people on reddit mention that they can indeed connect to the game right now, even though they are also on the Windows Store version of the game.

It might be that they messed up some database containing some of the accounts on Windows Store, but not all. If that's the case, I'm afraid to think what that could mean. If that is what has happened, and they can't recover them...

We have acknowleged the issue and confirmed when a fix will be released.

Comments re cross progression are removed from this thread because this is a bug report, and as such needs to be kept for bug information only.

You've said should be fixed with next hotpatch, not will, and there's a world of difference there.

You have also not at all confirmed when it will be fixed, we have been given no dates what so ever. We do not know if it's meant to be fixed in 12 hours or 12 months. Both those statements are just false, neither has happened. We have a vague reply saying you'll get around to it at some point, that's it, nothing more.

Also, deleting any mentions of wanting to move from a platform that BHVR clearly does not care about or prioritize at all (lets be perfectly honest, if the same thing happened on Steam, it would be fixed in hours, not weeks), is a really bad look.

You've deleted more than half of the replies that was in this thread, that was not at all overly aggressive or mean, just because they contained, in part, people asking to get cross-progression. That makes the issue seem like it's much less than it really is, like much fewer people posted here at all. That's not okay.

It comes off as damage control, trying to quell the outcries of people wanting to move away from the Windows Store version of the game before it grows out of your control and you'll have to actually deal with it for real, rather than just deleting it, ignoring it and hope it'll go away.

This statement does nothing to calm people down, if anything, it feels like a slap in the face.

It reads as "Shut up and sit down, we'll get to it when we feel like it, stop whining and be happy if we fix the issue at all, we don't care about you".

That was poor wording in the March dev update, they’ve since clarified it was always intended to deactivate after use regardless of whether it was successful or not. It’s not a bug.

I mean, it's not poor wording, they said it very clearly in the march update, no question how that was intended to work at that point, and it's also not like that was hastily typed up and never looked over by anyone else, I'm sure multiple people approves patch notes, and they're typed up over time, not in a rush in 5 minutes and it just slipped by. It 100% was intended to work that way initially, but they then changed their minds. Just because BHVR says they always intended it to work that way, doesn't mean it actually was, they often claim similar things, even though it's demonstrably false.

  • @Daruen said:

It's really frustrating that they also don't say anything about the status of this issue, It has been almost a week since this error started for me and is imposible to play.

I would love to have some feedback from bhvr, just say that they are on it or something but not beeing able to play, try everything and having no response from the company doesn't make it better.

I hope this is fix soon, and for the rest of the people that are like me waiting, just be patience guys, sometimes is difficult to find where the errors are.

They did though, they said it might be fixed with the next hotfix. When that hotfix is however, we don't know. Hopefully at some point next week. If it comes on Monday, that's a week we've been unable to play, so that's the minimum we can assume we'll have to wait. Could be 3 weeks though, who knows?

Looking at how people are reacting to the most recent patch however, I think BHVR is more focused on getting people to stop review-bombing Steam and such right now though, than to get us back into the game, so it's anyones guess when we'll get back in.

  • I've already seen posts about this, that got locked cause "it's not a bug".

Take a look at what's happening with steam reviews atm, you're not the only person unhappy with the game right now.

  • It's already a known issue, the main thread is here: Error 8007 — BHVR

  • Yeah, it's already being discussed in the main thread, here: Error 8007 — BHVR

  • There's already a thread about it, where BHVR has responded, over here: Error 8007 — BHVR

  • @dantecollt said:

I'm really wondering what we'll get for an entire week of not being able to play this game because BHVR has no idea how to push an update without breaking a platform. This is beyond embarrassing now, really. Keep deleting replies of people rightfully complaining about this error and everything else, we already know how unprofessional and unprepared this company really is to deal with their players.

But for good measure: 5 days since the update and I still can't play the game because error 8007 keeps popping up whenever I open up the game. Congratulations.

Hey, if we're lucky, we might get 100k bp. Of course, by the time we can access the game again, the “SHOPPINGSPREE” code that gives 200k bp will have stopped working though most likely, meaning we end up worse off then the people who had no issues at all. Yay.

  • @AllisInWndrlnd said:

Would it help for us to all call xbox support to report the outage? It's pretty ridiculous that they advertise DBD as one of their windows store and game pass offerings, yet we can't actually play the game even when we spend money on it - isn't that false advertising? At minimum they shouldn't have the option available to purchase the game through their platform when it isn't playable, I believe that is fraud.

I'm not blaming behaviour here, because I've done contract work for microsoft in the past, and I know how chaotic their internal processes can be. I'd like to believe that the issue is on their side, and that behaviour would have resolved this faster if they weren't being blocked by microsoft's own inefficiency. So what can we do to have some agency in this matter, or advocate for cross-progression so we can move away from the windows store?

Even when the game is playable, I have to relaunch the game every few matches because it disconnects in lobby so often (usually when I join the queue,) and my internet is not causing the issue. My connection is stable and I have no connection issues with any other game. From what I've read, this is just one of the perks of being a windows store user.

If we buy the steam version, is there some way impacted users could migrate our accounts despite cross-progression not being available? It'd be nice to play on a functioning platform, and the only thing stopping most of us is that we've already put hundreds or thousands of hours into our windows store accounts.

Well, it's clear that the Windows Store version comes with challenges that Steam and Epic doesn't have to deal with, so part of the blame for all of these issues for years is absolutely on Microsofts side, no doubt.

However, BHVR is the devs, ultimately it's their game and their responsibility. If something messes up on Microsofts side, it's BHVRs responsibility to sort those issues out as fast as possible, even if it's not BHVR's "fault" that they happened.

It's like if you rent an apartment, but then you let your younger sibling stay there over the weekend while you're out of town, and they throw a party. You're still responsible for any noise complaints, possible destruction etc that your younger sibling may have caused. It's still fair if you're kicked out because of it, because ultimately it's your responsibility.

The easiest and best solution, is to allow us to move over to Steam, then release a final patch for the Windows Store version telling people that they need to synch their accounts and move over to Steam within X amount of time (lets say a year), if they want to be able to keep playing the game, and keep their progress, DLCs etc.

Then they can just completely stop support for the Windows Store/Game Pass version, BHVR doesn't have to deal with the issues, and neither does us players have to deal with it anymore either.

If BHVR would just put a little bit of time and effort into moving us all over to Steam once and for all now, and give us 50m BP for the years of issues we've had to deal with without any compensation for those issues during those years, then BHVR doesn't have to deal with these issues ever again. BHVR will save time, money and effort, dealing with the complaints, fixing the issues, dealing with Microsoft etc, and the playerbase will save a lot of frustration, time to try to sort these issues on their side (which almost never is on the players side at the end of the day, the issue is almost always somewhere between Microsoft and BHVR), and we can just play the game like most other people.

I have brought up these issues in the past however, and kept pushing until I finally got the answer, at least back then, that absolutely zero thought or effort had been spent into letting the Windows Store/Game Pass users synch with Steam, like Epic and Stadia had at that point.

I think the issue is BHVR ran into problems synching progress between Switch and Steam, and then decided that they wouldn't do ANYTHING at all about synching progress between consoles and Steam, until that issue is fixed. It's been years though, and most likely they're never going to sort out whatever the issues were that they had with Switch. Sadly, that means that Xbox/PS players will never get cross-progression either, and we, who use Windows Store, gets bundled in with Xbox, even though we're on PC, and we'll never get cross progression either. It's dumb. BHVR needs to change their stance and sort this out once and for all, and then just stop supporting the Windows Store version completely, they clearly feel like it's not worth their effort to deal with anyhow.

  • This isn't a bug, it's intended design.

You post fits better in the suggestions forum, as this isn't a bug.

  • "Should" be fixed in the next hotfix? And we don't even know when that is?

It's likely not today, which means most likely at the earliest it's Monday, basically a full week of not being able to play the game at a minimum. It could be two weeks though, or four, we just don't know.

If this happened to the Steam version, it'd actually be prioritized, and it would be solved in hours tops, not days or possibly weeks.

If this happened to the Steam version, they'd get millions in BP. We're likely going to get nothing at all, like always.

Great BHVR. Feels good to be treated like a 3rd rate member of the community for years. Really shows how much you actually care at all about your player base.

  • 3 full days so far where we have been completely unable to play the game.

We're missing the start of the new rift, meaning we'll end up being behind, and at this point we might not get back into the game before the “SHOPPINGSPREE” code stops working (if it still works, lots of codes seems to work for just a day or a few days, it's been 3 days since that code came out), costing us 200k bp right there alone etc etc.

Please, just let us move over to Steam, together with all bought DLCs, skins, etc and just remove DBD from the Windows store/game pass at this point, it's clear it's not even close to a priority what so ever anyhow.

If even Stadia, a platform which never had that many users, got higher priority than Game Pass, with it's 25 million users, it's ridiculous.

Let us move over to Steam ASAP, and give us 50m BP for all of the issues we've had to endure, without getting any compensation for those issues in those years, while Steam users have gotten ALOT of compensations for much, much lesser issues.

  • Same issue, I'm on Windows version, getting error 8007 since the update.

Please, let us just connect to Steam like all the other platforms on PC has been allowed to do.

Epic, Steam and even the now gone Stadia was allowed, but we've been just ignored.

The Windows version still gets all of the issues that the other versions does (mostly, some are console exclusive), plus ALOT of extra issues with the Windows version ever since it came out, yet we've never received a Windows/game pass exclusive "sorry for the issues" bloodpoint reward or anything. If Steam had the same issues that the Windows version did, we'd all have received 50m+ bp by this point for those issues over the years. Not being able to start the game for days/weeks, having to reinstall the game every single patch, even minor ones for years etc etc.

Just let us connect to Steam, like all the other PC platforms have been allowed, so we can move away from the Windows version and be done with the issues. And please, for once, give us a reward for not being able to play the game at all this time, even though you've never done it before.

  • Yes, having my teammates in Solo Q spend 84 seconds self healing, only to be downed in the end anyhow is going to be great.

Seeing people instantly DC every game against legions is going to be great.

Seeing killers be even more incentivised to tunnel someone from the start (to guarantee that they can't use DH), is going to be great, we weren't seeing enough tunneling.

Seeing killers camp more (again, to make sure they can tunnel people off hook, so they can't use DH) will also be great, we needed more of that.

Seeing Solo Q over all get pretty hard nerfed, as the by far weakest group in the game, despite being over 60% of the playerbase, is going to be great.

The update did have some cool changes, don't get me wrong.

But BHVR is just killing Solo Q more and more, meaning 60% of the playerbase is probably going to be lost fairly soon. When that happens, DBD nosedives and dies within months.

What needs to happen is buff Solo Q to be as close as possible to SWF (the other alternative is to remove the ability to SWF, that 100% kills the game over night, so terrible idea), then buff most killers (except Nurse and Blight) to match the new strength of Solo Q being similar to SWF, and then we have the most balanced version of the game ever.

Instead BHVR keeps buffing killer, nerfing Solo Q, while not doing much to SWF. Pretty soon, killers and SWF will be fairly on par and balanced, but Solo Q will be dead, and with losing over half of the playerbase, the game will be dead too...

    SMH.

  • This post feels like you trying to justify why you're a face camper, and you want people to tell you that you're good, and survivors that dies when you face camp are bad. It's just not that simple.

First of all, I would argue that a SWF where all 4 maybe average say 1000 MMR, has a much higher chance of having 3 or 4 people escaping vs a face camping killer, than a full group of Solo Q players with an average of say 1500 MMR does.

If the Solo Q group has higher MMR, they should be better players on average. However, no one can deny that a SWF being able to communicate can MUCH more easily disarm a face camping situation, as they can co-ordinate distracting the killer and unhooking the person being face camped. The fact that they can communicate is a huge boost. I suspect that you're either just ignoring this fact completely, or you've never really played in a decent SWF before and so you have no reference point to compare to. Solo Q is by far the weakest group of players in this game. The list goes SWF along with Nurse and Blight is the strongest, then comes the rest of the killers, and then quite a bit below that comes Solo Q. No one would really argue against that being true. Solo Q is at a huge disadvantage compared to a SWF, and therefore something like a camping situation is far less likely to end well for Solo Q compared to a SWF, unless everyone in the Solo Q is very high MMR themselves, with thousands of hours in the game, then they are all knowledgeable enough that they know how to co-ordinate unhooking vs a camping killer even without communications. There's very few who sticks around the game long enough to get to that point however.

A second huge glaring issue with your argument, is that no one that's played this game more than like 10h just wants to do gens and then escape, hundreds or thousands of games in a row. Pretty quickly, the fun part on either side is chasing someone, or being chased. Is doing gens fun? No. Is healing fun? No. Is unhooking fun? No. It's fun to be chased, to get better at looping the killer, to get stuns and blinds etc. On the killer side, it's fun to outsmart the survivors, to win mindgames, it's fun when you learn to keep a fairly accurate image in your head of a map and where all survivors are at all times, even without having to use aura-perks etc.

Standing still at a hook, isn't fun, for anyone. Doing gens and escaping with zero interactions with the killer isn't fun for anyone. If I just wanted to gens and escape, I could just play the tutorial games all day long instead with 0 risk of being face camped.

I, and pretty much everyone else, play for the chases. That's the fun part. The interaction between survivor and killer.

If you face camp, I will be bored. If I'm the person on the hook, that's x amount of minutes of my life just wasted where I could've played a fun game instead. If some random person is on the hook, I'm bored too. If I just wanted to do gens and escape, I might as well play with bots. I will run to you, try to get your attention, try to get you to chase me instead, because that's why I play the game. I want that interaction.

You call me a bad player for doing that. You're saying that you're bad if you're not okay with just being bored for a few minutes and then escape with no interaction with the killer. You're bad if you want interaction with the killer. What are you smoking?

No, you're bad for face camping. You should be the one playing vs bots. It'll be as stimulating for you either way. Or you know, just stare into a blank wall all day. That's about as interactive as your game-play style is.

What's the fun in it for you? What enjoyment do you get from it, that you can't get from playing vs bots just as well? You're clearing not interested in interaction with other players. Please, tell me how staring into a blank wall 16h a day wouldn't be as rewarding or exciting as it is for you to just stand still in a video game for 5 minutes and then repeat that experience again and again and again?

People are playing the game to have fun. The fun part in this game is chases, on both sides. You're just wasting peoples time. You say yourself that camping is boring. So why bother? Why not just play some other game? Or watch Netflix/YouTube/Twitch/Whatever? What part of you is getting enjoyment from ensuring that others can't have fun?

  • "This kills two birds, since it would also remove "hitting survivors on hook BM.""

Hitting survivors on hook bm, is hitting them on hook while face camping them usually. If you accidentally hit them on hook when someone is trying to unhook them, no one would see that as BM, so it makes no difference there at all.

As for the main point behind your post, first off this is more suitable in the suggestions forum, since it's not a bug in any way.

Secondly, why should you be able to hit straight through a person? It would just make camping even more stupidly strong towards lower mmr/newer players and solo-queue players, and the game is already really rough for new players as it is, do we need more reasons to scare new players away from the game? And how does it make logical sense for killers to be able to hit through people on hooks? Just look up a guide of how to deal with situations like that, there's loads.

Just save yourself the time, find a guide, learn how to deal with hook trades, spend less time in total, and then you don't have to report basic mechanics as bugs, just because of your own lack of knowledge and skill as a killer...

Edit Just noticed you've got almost 2.2k posts, and you still haven't learned mechanics of how to deal with hook trades as a killer, something that can be explained in a 10 second video?

  • Still happening, has happened maybe 6-7 times now. Again, no viruses or malware shows up, has never happened to any other games or windows since it all started which makes it really unlikely that it's anything like that causing it. Just pops up a window mid-game asking "are you sure you want to quit?" as if I would've pressed alt+f4, if I do nothing, game crashes, if I click cancel, game crashes, every single time.

It happens if I am on a hook and pressing nothing, it happens when I'm healing ppl, it happens when I do gens or run around or even when I'm fully tabbed out of the window.

Has anyone else ever had this happen to them? The only explanation I have is that it must either be some sort of bug, exploit or cheats.

Every single time so far that it has happened, I've been in a match except once where it happened in a lobby about to load into a match.

  • This is still happening, just happened again right now. It's happened 4 times so far.

And again, it has never happened when playing other games, and I haven't had any other random windows close down or anything. This time it happened in a match as well, against a michael. Another person crashed in the same game as well a few minutes earlier while they were in the middle of a window vault.

Ok, lets actually break down your post.

1.3/4 flashlights. Ok, what killer are you running? Most high end killers negate flashlights at pallets, bubba, hillbily, blight, nruse, spirit. Other killers that more or less negate the flashlight blind, plague, dr, Demogorgon, and nemesis. All these killers can break the pallets to fast or the blind to go off. (Dr with his shock blast.) Even if you can't deal with it, if they are injured just listen out for the grunts of pains, even if they are not injured or have iron will, you can still track them with footsteps. If you are talking about flashlight saves then you need to learn to bait saves, fake pick ups, slug (ect.) Perks that will do this for you, lightborn, franklin's demise, infectious fright. Most killers won't need these, but practice with them first then try to play without them.

2, Bodyblocking survivors, Ok, and? The only reason bodyblocking should ever be an issue is if you are tunnelling. Try not to tunnel. If it is end game and you need to, I don't know what you expect survivors to do, stand there and let you get kills? They are doing the right thing. If you're talking about them body blocking during a normal chase, just hit them. It's a free hit.

3, two keys. This is actually what convinced me to post. 2 keys? You do realise only one survivor can use a key. If they have 2 then either you're going to kill both of them or one of them. Keys are so underpowered now if you seriously have a problem with keys, you don't stand a chance at moderate ranks, let alone high rank. The issue isn't keys, rather hatch. Because hatch is a 50/50 chance that is spawns closer to the survivor or killer. There is nothing wrong with keys, as a killer I am more scared of one med kit, then 4 keys.

4, Adrenaline/ dead hard. The way I see Adrenaline, its the survivor version of Noed. No real skill and really cheap perk, no reasonable way to counter it. It's honestly unfair, but so is NOED. I discourage both perks, but honestly I don't blame you getting frustrated with it. Dead hard is easily the best survivor perk in the game and needs a nerf. In fact a lot of survivor/ killer perks need to be nerfed, they are just way to strong compared to other perks. The only thing I can say is if you are encountering strong perks constantly you need to run strong perks in response, regardless of whether you are survivor or killer, both sides are playing this game competitively so you need to adapt if you want to play.

5,Easily abused loops. Objectively wrong. Some maps are survivor sided, however some heavily killer sided. Almost every pallet in midwitch is an unsafe pallet for survivors, barring a couple that need to broken. Shelter woods can spawn as little as 7 pallets. Most good loops have breakable walls, meaning they should only get one loop. Most chases should really only last a minute, if it is lasting longer, then that's on you, this isn't even counting killers that just break chases (Spirit, nurse, Blight.

6,Killers have like 1% chance of succeeding with survivors having the other 99%. Not even close. Most killers get 2 kills the majority of matches and actually win more matches then they lose at low MMR. The only real issue is high MMR and it's not that killers aren't winning, because they are. It's that they need to run high end killers, with top perks every match.

7,camping subsides it a bit but we should not need to camp or tunnel to succeed. If the game tilted in favour of killers you would see more camping, not less. Killers camp, not because it is needed, rather because it is the best way to win. Before changing anything gameplay related they need force killers to change how they play by punishing camping, not the other way around.

8,The devs are actively promoting camping and tunnelling. Yes, they always promoted this playstyle. This is nothing new, again killers mainly camp by choice, not when needed. Killers have defended camping long before SBMM. Killers camp by choice. Supported by the devs, in their own interview, where they openly supported things such as insidious bubba.

IN short most of your points show less of an issue of killers but rather yourself and your clear lack of experience in the game.

Well said, I agree with every point you made.

I blame the game for giving the indication that the survivor was hit, only to do a rollback when the ideal situation would obviously be not to give that indication in the first place. Imagine if a Call of Duty gave you hit indicators when you shoot at someone, only for nothing to happen.

Well yeah, it would be ideal. But the killers and survivors clients can't send info to the server, then have the server decide who pushed their button first, and then have that info be sent back to the respective clients in 0 time. It's just not physically possible. This is the only way DH with hit verification can possibly function. Which is why I said it's very janky, and I don't like DH because of that, and that only. I don't think they should go back to old DH either, because it never worked propperly and there's so many times where survivors were exhausted on the floor, forced to wait out the CD even if they were healed, managed to wiggle off before they were hooked, or got flashlight saved. They need to replace it with some other different, but equally strong perk instead in my opinion. DH can never work propperly, and not be janky at the same time. It's one or the other, and therefore it should be completely replaced.

The mmr is non existent. Otherwise it would work out chases are too long, gens are too fast. Not only that I don't mind the odd challenging matches it's the toxicity, the flashlights etc. The flashlights are still used by newer players and gen rush is still the same. MMR is non existent.

lol, what? MMR does exist... What have you been smoking? MMR isn't affected by the length of chases or how fast gens are done.

As survivor, you gain MMR from surviving as long as possible (up to 8 minutes) and escaping. As killer, you gain MMR for kills.

No other actions has any effect on if you lose or gain MMR.

The way to fix it is to rework DH.

You're overexplaining it to me though, I know exactly what's happening. That's not my point. My point is that the perk itself is wildly unbalanced and it "working as intended" is a bad thing.

Based on your previous post, you infact didn't understand how it worked.

"the killer actually DID fairly land a hit, but the E button says no for absolutely no fair reason", No, your client thought you landed the hit, while in fact you didn't. All these years, you've thought you landed a hit, and since there were no checks, your client saying that it was a hit, meant that it was a hit, even when the survivor triggered their dead hard before you attacked. It has been very unfair for years, and now that it is fair, you complain and say that it's "wildly unbalanced".

Yes, the animations, audio, and cooldowns that happens when your client thinks that you hit someone, eventhough you didn't, are an issue, I'm not going to aruge that part. To some degree, I do sort of feel like dead hard should just be completely removed, simply because it is impossible to make it work propperly and without being janky. The only way for the perk to actually work as intended, and without triggering the wrong animations and audio, is if the devs somehow managed program a way for the servers to predict the future with 100% accuracy, so that the server knows exactly when you will swing and the survivor will Dead Hard. That is obviously impossible, so Dead Hard will forever either not work propperly, or be very janky. Neither is a good thing.

I'm on the side that doesn't mind Dead Hard being a thing neither as a killer or as a survivor, and I'm completely fine with how the perk is intended to work. However, since it can never fully work as intended, it will always be janky no matter what, I would prefer it if the perk was completely replaced with a perk of similar power, but which can work propperly.

  • @Maliken said:

Yeah, it's annoying as hell. It made me lose the chase on some occasions, thinking the survivor was down on the ground so I had time to use PGTW on a nearby gen before hooking them, only to discover the hit didn't connect after all.

No, it didn't make you lose the chase. You didn't pay attention, just assumed that your hit did infact land, went and did other things, and only when you came back to pick up the body did you realize that the hit didn't land, lol. How can you blame the game for your complete lack of awareness? You can simply just take a split second to confirm that the survivor was indeed downed, rather than just assume that they were and go kick a gen.

@Haddix It's not a bug, it's how it has to work if hit validation is going to be a thing. Want that fixed? It's possible, but you won't like the solution. If you don't want the hit animation to play when it shouldn't, the devs could simply make it so that every time you click to swing your weapon, that info needs to be sent to the server, the server checks if that hit will actually land, send that info back to you, and only then does the animation play. That way, you'll never see the animation of you hitting a survivor ever again, when hit validation determined that it wasn't a hit. The downside ofc is that there'll be a noticeable lag every single time you try to swing your weapon. Does that sound better to you? Because that's the only way to fix it, since it's impossible for the server to predic the exact moment you will swing your weapon, and the survivor will trigger their dead hard. The visual/audio feedback as it is right now, is not a bug. It's simply what has to happen when hit validation is a thing. It takes time for information to be sent from the survivor and killers clients, be analyzed to figure out who was first, and send that info back to their respective clients, but animations play instantly when you press your button. The animation will always play what your client thinks will happen, but the outcome will be what the server decides happened, and the server will always make that decision slightly slower than your client does. What can be fixed, is cooldowns can be corrected to reflect what the cooldown of a missed hit should be, after the server decides that it was indeed a miss. They absolutely can and should fix that part.

I do get a few of these matches - 1-2 excellent survivors way better than me and 2-3 potatoes without even a full line of perks.

It's probably people waiting in queues for ages and the system instead trying to futz together an 'average' team MMR close to mine.

That said, I had a genuinely heartwarming game where a clearly very experienced Nancy was using gestures to lead a trio of obvious newbies around.

I ended up giving 3 of them the gates on 2 hooks a piece.

Yeah, it still happens to me too, just no where near as much as it did when permanent MMR was introduced.

For those of you saying that you're having some easy games where you escape, and then face some hard games where you can't, that's just MMR working as intended. Escape and your MMR goes up, eventually you face harder killers where you're almost guaranteed to lose and your MMR goes down again. You'll always bounce a little bit up and down.

I do agree with what a lot of people are saying about how more things than escaping should factor into your MMR gain/loss though. The fact that someone could technically go all the way from 0 MMR to be amongst the ppl with highest MMR in the game, without touching a single gen or totem and without doing a single unhook or heal on someone else or be chased at all, is just beyond dumb. Escaping should never be the only deciding factor on if you gain MMR or not. It promotes hiding and avoiding getting caught by the killer at all costs, while you're free to be completely useless for your team. Just do your best to never get caught, do gens only when you know the killer is on the other side of the map, only unhook when you know the killer is nowhere close, and if all your teammates dies because gens doesn't get done quickly enough, just get hatch or try to escape through the gate, just make sure to live as long as possible and never get caught, and you can raise your MMR quite quickly. And for those games where you are caught super early? Well, just DC or suicide on first hook like most other blendettes.

On the survivor side, doing other things should factor into it, just like the old system worked. That person that did 4 gens, 5 unhooks, 3 heals, 2 hex totems and ran the killer for 5 minutes while the rest were completely useless? Yeah, that person shouldn't lose MMR while the other 3 finally manages to do one gen, open the gate and just run out straight away instead of trying to unhook them and they all gain MMR. That blendette that spent a total of 20 seconds on a gen and did 1 unhook, who manages to hide well enough to be the last survivor standing, they shouldn't gain MMR just because they managed to open a gate in time and run out.

The current system promotes survivors that are mostly useless for the team, which is bad. As a survivor, you want teammates that helps you do objectives and increases the chance of one or more survivors being able to escape. As a killer, it sucks dealing with survivors that are very good at hiding the whole game, it gets tiresome running around for 10 minutes when there's 2 survivors left that aren't even trying to do gens at all, they're just waiting for the other person to get caught so that they can try to escape.

  • @douggie123 said:

All day I've ran into 3/4 flashlights, bodyblocking survivors, two keys, adrenaline, crappy dead hard. Easily abused loops. Nerf them how can you not see that survivors are broken. Killers have like 1% chance of succeeding with survivors having the other 99% most often than not 4 man escapes. Nothing stops this crap camping subsides it a bit but we should not need to camp or tunnel to succeed. The devs are actively promoting camping and tunneling. Please sort the survivors out.

Your MMR is too high, it's that simple. If you rely on tunneling and camping to get kills, you know what happens? The game thinks that you're pretty good, and ready to face up against mid/high MMR survivors. If you're good at camping/tunneling, but not at map awarness, mindgames, predicting where the survivors will run, what gens they might be on etc etc, you will struggle a lot when your MMR gets too high, becuase camping and tunneling is no where near as effective against good survivors and/or swfs.

Just play without tunneling and camping, lose MMR, get to a point where you have a fair chance of winning without relying on those things, or crutch perks like NOED, and you'll find that you have a much more enjoyable time as a killer. When at that point, try to actively improve your gameplay, try to actually become a better killer, and you can slowly raise your MMR over time. Eventually, maybe you'll learn how to win against survivors that work well together, that got flashlights, that are good at looping etc. You're clearly not there yet though.

I don't get this view that so many killers have, that they have to get a 4k every game or it's not fun. Why be so sweaty? Why can't you take a loss every once in a while? Why are you so eager to raise your MMR when all that it will do is put you up against survivors that you're clearly not equipped to handle?

The issue here is not that survivors are too buffed, the issue is that your MMR is too high, it's putting you up against survivors that are simply just too good for you to stand a fair chance. Don't inflate your MMR by tunneling and camping to get easy kills. I'm telling you, if you stop doing it and just accept that you'll be losing some games before you're matched against survivors that you can handle, you'll enjoy the game so much more.

  • @jesterkind said:

Minor point, but there's no incentive to gain MMR because it's not a progression system. You're not supposed to be going out of your way to try and get max points, it's supposed to be puttering away in the background. The theory is, play sweaty for a 4k and (after you're placed properly) you'll be matched with players who can handle playing sweaty for a 4k, and vice versa.

This system nearly works properly all the time, but even after they patch up its current holes, people need to stop approaching it like it's some kind of progression system, and that they'll be "punished" for escapes/deaths. Play the way you play and, with some adjustments, this system will try to match you with players who'll be responding accordingly.

    ^ This.

I'm not sure why people went super sweaty after MMR was introduced. It basically means that you're struggling more to gain higher MMR, so you face tougher opponents, forcing you to struggle even more to gain MMR, until you get to the point where you just get absolutely steamrolled, lose MMR, and then you're back to struggling to get back to the point where you get steamrolled again? The system actually works quite well in putting you in fairly even matches. Sure, sometimes you get a super easy match, and sometimes you get steamrolled, but that's kind of to be expected. Win a lot and you'll suddenly get much harder matches. Lose a bunch and you suddenly get much easier matches.

Personally, when MMR was turned on permanently, I felt like it was way off, and not fun at all. As a survivor, my teammates were terrible and went from full health to downed in 5-10 seconds most of the time, while I could often easily loop the killer for 5+ minutes if they stayed on me (pre-mmr I could maybe do 1-3 mins honestly vs the average killer I was teamed up against). As killer, I faced nothing but 3-4 man swfs that was teabagging and clicking their flashlights every single game, and I was no where near skilled enough to deal with them. I genuinely believe that my MMR was switched when it first launched. I was way better as a survivor than a killer, yet I was teamed with terrible survivors against a terrible killer when I played survivor, and I was facing survivors that were just way out of my leauge when I played killer. Over time, my MMR has adjusted on both sides, and most of the time now I get fairly balanced matches.

New players shouldn't rely on crutch perks and shift + w playstyle, they need to learn to play the game just like everyone else, play smart and always be on alert, it only becomes a bad habit in the long run if you teach newbies to rely on perks that supports Shift + W gameplay, like running 36 meters earlier than the killer isn't a crutch,

No spine chill shouldn't be nerfed to the ground just because you think it's wouldn't work against few non meta killer with a very visible white mask, its basically the fault of your team they can't look farther than 10 meters or spot a stalking ghostface in the corner, they're people not headless chickens.

Only few maps are viable for stalking killers, you wouldn't be able to spot a survivor hiding behind a tree on a very huge map without whispers or other aura reading perks and with Spine chill they have a 36 meter heads up much farther than whispers' 32 meters radius and survivor will always spot the killer before the killer can spot them.

and even if the killer doesn't use stealth, the base terror radius is 32 meters, much bigger than Spine Chill's 36 meter, so yes its still viable against most killers. not even accounting for the killer's narrow FOV. they could always run to the next gen on the other side of the map before a killer gets to the gen or hide in the corner and stare at spine chill all day.

No spine chill isn't only for noobs, its abusable in high mmr too, even if it isn't called a meta perk it still is powerful against most killers who uses stealth perks that applies Undetectable, Blindness and Oblivious. worst case scenario is if a killer who only relies on stealth and has a very weak map pressure gets spotted 36 meters away by a random survivor whose spine chill proc for only 1 sec, now the killer has to be on cooldown for 24 sec.

and no Crab walking and slowly turning a corner is very clunky and takes so much time and effort than Shift + W that survivors can do in a split second, not to mention it's extremely high risks and low rewards for killers to stalk on high mmr specially on tight maps, where m1 killers gets crucified on a loop or a safe pallet with little to no line of sights.

what is ghostface supposed to do, slowly and menacingly turn at every corner of the map expecting a survivor to be in there without triggering spine chill? "ooooooh i'm going to have to face this corner i hope there isn't someone who has spine chill, oops too late they already run away from the other side of the wall."

thanks for telling me, now i'm going to teach my Ghostface how to stalk while moon walking, wish me luck, Hee hee.

You are honestly blowing all of this way out of proportion, and you know it. Yeah, there are instances where spine chill gives a benefit, which is the whole point of all perks. If a perk doesn't give a benefit or an advantage, it's 100% useless. You're talking about a perk that is so far from meta, that the vast majority of people that use it are newer players or blendettes, and in my experience I see it at most maybe once in 500 perks (so 4 perks per survivor, 4 survivors per game, about once every 30+ games). If it was such an amazing perk as you're trying your best to make it sound like, why isn't it meta? Why isn't it in the top 4, or even the top 10 most used perks? It's not being used much, partly because there's just way better perks, partly because if you keep your eyes open and got some map awareness you'll have a decent idea of where the killer is even if you're in solo-q, or you use way better tracking perks or addons.

I wanted to adress a few things from your post directly as well. "New players shouldn't rely on crutch perks and shift + w playstyle", I never said that they should, it's absolutely a good idea for all newer players to play around with all different perks, try different builds and playstyles to see what they enjoy the most and what fits them the best. With the recent trend of releasing anti-loop killers however, learning how to best handle the shift-w playstyle is actually a necessity, regardless of how we feel about that.

"No spine chill shouldn't be nerfed to the ground just because you think it's wouldn't work against few non meta killer with a very visible white mask, its basically the fault of your team they can't look farther than 10 meters or spot a stalking ghostface in the corner, they're people not headless chickens." I'm not sure what to say about this... It sounds as if you think that I somehow said that spine chill should be nerfed? I argued the opposite... If anything, this whole comment is exactly what I've been arguing... So you agree with me?

"No spine chill isn't only for noobs, its abusable in high mmr too", how is it abusable? Nothing in the rest of your post explains how it can be used abusivly. It can be used as intended... Is it an abuse to trigger your dead hard when it's beneficial to do so? Is it an abuse to chase players off of gens when you have ruin? Please, explain how it's possible to use the perk in a way that's not intended, and actually abusive.

The rest of the post is basically you saying that it's too hard to avoid spine chill being triggered, which if you watch someone like Otz, there's lots of examples where he has been able to deduce that someone has spine chill, and been able to get close enough to trigger his 99'd ability and down the survivor before they had time to really react or run anywhere, or get a warning with their spine chill. You say that it doesn't work at high MMR, but clearly others can make it work. Are the people that can do it just gods amongst men? Are they all secretly cheating? Or is the issue maybe on your side? And please remember, that we are still talking about killers that are far from the best in the game, and a perk that's far from the best in the game. If you're playing a weaker killer, you are going to struggle a bit more, that's just how the game works. Spine Chill is quite weak in most instances, especially compared to all the other perks that you could use instead. In high MMR, you very rarely see Spine Chill at all anyhow... If you are actually high MMR (and keep in mind that the majority of players would describe themselves as being above average, which of course is impossible), you're talking about playing killers that aren't that great at that level, and a perk that's almost never used at that level... How is this a concern to begin with? Don't you have 100 other things that are way more unbalanced that you should focus on instead?

If you really see spine chill a lot, I'm sorry to tell you, but your MMR has to be low/mid, not anywhere close to high.

  • The best perks for a survivor is Unbreakable and Borrowed Time from Bill, Dead Hard from David King, Decisive Strike from Laurie Strode, Sprint Burst from Meg and Iron Will from Jake. 5 of those are from free survivors that you already have, so focus on those. If DS comes up in the Shrine of Secrets, get it. We're gonna live forever is by far the best perk for farming bp as a survivor, you should absolutely get it, you're leveling up David King anyhow to get Dead Hard, and you can unlock WGLF before you can unlock DH anyhow. Unlock it on whatever survivor you want to play as you main. It's also useful as it helps you heal other survivors from dying state faster, which can often be useful. Keep in mind that you can get dalies requiring you to play a specific survivor, so leveling up all your survivors to the point that they have some useful perks is a good idea. Don't worry about prestiging characters to start with, it's mostly just a bloody skin, the increased rarity of items in the bloodweb is barely noticable.

Let me also give you an early warning, Self-Care and Urban Evasion can both be useful perks, but the vaaaaast majority of players use them all wrong, same kinda goes with Sprint Burst.

Don't run off and Self-Care every chance you get, it takes a long time, and that's time that you can spend on doing gens and increase your chance of escaping. If the killer isn't near you, it doesn't matter if you're full health or injured. It's almost always preferable if you can find a teammate to heal you instead, since it's much faster, alternatively, if someone has CoH (circle of healing, boon perk that comes from Michaela), heal while inside it's radious, as it's twice as fast (you don't need to have Self-Care equipped to heal with CoH).

Urban Evasion, most players sadly use it to crawl around everywhere on the map, hiding in some corner, and being generally useless for the team. The speed that you crouch-walk around the map with Urban Evasion, is the same as if you're just walking normally. The only advantage is that you're slightly harder to spot. Most of the time, you should be running from place to place, so if you Urban Evasion around everywhere, you're wasting a huge amount of time, which can easily be the difference between an escape or being killed, because you spent 3 minutes crawling around instead of just running to a gen and getting it done. Urban Evasion can be useful to hide when you hear the killer come near you, and can sometimes be used to great effect when being chased, in getting the killer to lose track of you.

Sprint Burst suffers from a similar issue as Urban Evasion does. Many players will just walk or crouch-walk all over the map when they have Sprint Burst, because they don't want to trigger it until the killer is about to get a hit on them. This again means that you're wasting lots of time walking around the map when you should be running. It'll recover whenever you're not running, if you learn to use it propperly, you can almost always have it ready to go whenever you actually need it, use it to get to the next gen when you're not in a chase, and it can be more powerful than Dead Hard is. For most players, they struggle to use Sprint Burst correctly, so Dead Hard is simply better for them.

Do take the time to find tips and guides on Youtube! There's lots of great content creators that have super useful guides on there, they are absolutely worth the time! Make sure that they were made fairly recently though, the game has gone through a lot of changes over the years, so a guide that's 3 years old can easily have bad advice for the game as it currently is.

  • When MMR came out, if I was playing as a survivor, my experience was that both the teammates that I was paired with and the killers I was facing, were way worse than before. They all honestly seemed like people that had played for maybe max 5-10h.

I mean, sure, I was able to escape almost every game, eventhough my teammates all went down in 5-10 second chases and died, while I did 3-5 gens, most of the unhooks (with bt), cleared hexes, healed people, took protection hits and tried to get the killer to chase me instead etc. It was not uncommon for me to have 30k+ bp at the end of every game, cause I basically did everything. It wasn't much fun though.

On the killer side, it was the opposite. I was facing much tougher games on average, got steamrolled quite often, and it wasn't much fun.

I honestly believe that I am a much better survivor than a killer, and I do play more survivor, but it feels like my MMR was switched between the two roles, so I just got the worst of both worlds.

With that being said, while I do still get terrible teammates sometimes, and face hard swfs as killer, the games I'm getting now is much more fair and even for both roles, so while it took some time for it to balance out, I think my MMR is fairly close to where it should be right now.

  • I don't see how DH causing killer cooldowns and other issues after validation can be fixed, at least not the visual part of it.

Think about it. The survivor triggers DH at a specific time, and sends that info to the server, the killer triggers their attack at a certain time and sends that info to the server. It will take time for that info to get to the server, then the server needs to decide if DH was triggered before the attack or not, and then send that info out to both the killer and survivor. Even if both sides have great ping, the survivor will see themselves dead harding instantly, and the killer will see themselves swinging their weapon instantly. One of them will always see something happen, that the server will not agree with. If the server decides that DH happened first, the killer will see themselves hitting the survivor, only to shortly after realize that it wasn't a hit. If the server decides that the killer attacking happened first, the survivor will see themselves dead harding, only to rubberband back and take damage. The only way to solve the issue, is if the server could predict the future, and send out the correct information the moment the dh/attack happens. We all know that that's not going to happen, so the way it works now isn't going to change.

The change was needed, there was far too many cases where people got exhausted on the ground, triggering a cooldown that shouldn't have happened if dh didn't even go of in the first place, and in many cases where people were flashlight saved, managed to wiggle out, killer got pallet stunned etc, survivors ended up on the hook anyhow, because their DH was on cooldown. That simply wasn't fair.

What they can do, is fix it so that cooldowns reset instantly, for the person that the server decided was too slow. It's not going to fix the visual animation though, that's always going to be there, because they can't predict the future.

Why would you need to save them? I'm new to the game, why don't collect right when you get it?

For a new player, you probably have several or lots of survivors and/or killers you need to level up, so you have a use for all the bp that you can get. For those that have played the game for years, they may already have maxed out all their characters, and since you can only have max 1,000,000 bp at a time (if you go over that, you no longer get any bp from matches), they do challenges but don't claim their rewards, as that's a way of saving bp for later when a new character comes out. If a new DLC comes out, you've got 1m bp or close to it already, got rewards from tomes saved up that you haven't claimed, and got 3 dailies that you've finished but not claimed, you can get those new characters to lvl 50 very fast after they're released, or even prestige them (if that's something you're interested in), or keep refreshing the bloodweb when they're lvl 50 to unlock all the perks you want on them. It's simply a way of bypassing the 1m bp cap, for those that doesn't have any characters to meaningfully dump more points into.

Stfu. I play how I want. I don't care what you or others say. If I camp, I tunnel or not I'm called tunneler anyway so I DON'T GIVE A ######### about your hypocrite complaints. Get over it and grow up. Instead of complaining on forums you should do something useful.

Okay, first of all, you didn't defend against anything that I said against you. You seem to be a very defensive person, yet all you basically did was tell me to shut up. That tells me that you actually agree with some of the stuff that I said about you, no?

Secondly, there's no reason to use expletives, we could have a more sensible conversation without using curse words and caps lock. Not that I'm bothered by it, or easily offended, it just serves no function. You just come off as being very upset and defensive, and if that's your mindset, we're not likely to be able to agree on anything. Instead, you're likely to just disagree with me out of spite, rather than disagreeing based on any sensible reasoning.

Third, I'm not complaning at all. I start by asking you a question, then another question, and then I give you my honest view of your post. Yes, some of the assumptions that I made about you are negative, that however does not mean it's a complaint. I'm stating facts as I see them. You didn't reply to any of my questions though.

Now, to adress the post of yours that I quoted directly. Yes, you can play the game however you want, I never said or impled that you can't. You say that you don't care what me or others say, yet you are very clearly upset, so that's a lie. You do care. The "If I camp, I tunnel or not I'm called tunneler anyway", honestly, our experiences are not at all the same there. I also play on EU servers, and while I quite often get people thanking me for not tunneling, or saying things like "I'm surprised you didn't tunnel", it's incredibly rare that someone accuses me of tunneling. Honestly, the vast majority of the times that anyone does, it's because I actually did tunnel, and I then explain to them that I tunneled one person because they were being very toxic and annoying, or because that person was very clearly using cheats, and at that point most people accept my reasoning for why I did it and they're fine with it. The fact that I do let the non-toxic/cheating survivors escape might help there. The number of times that I have been accused of tunneling when I wasn't, is very rare. Yes, I recently had someone accuse me of tunneling in a game where I got 0 hooks, I have no idea how they could possibly even remotely think I tunneled in that game. There'll always be trolls and morons falsely accusing you of things you didn't do, but that's not a valid excuse for doing it anyway. If someone falsely accuses you of theft, does that make it okay for you to steal things? I don't see how anything I said makes me a hypocrite, so you're more than welcome to explain that. You tell me to grow up, yet you are the one who can't behave in a civilized manner. Then you tell me to "stop complaining on forums and do something useful". I have given my view on how BHVR could nerf camping in a more fair and balanced way, where's your useful input in this thread? And how are you not complaining in your posts here? Who's being a hypocrite here really?

In your previous post that I quoted, you say that you don't camp because it's boring, yet you say that you do camp with bubba because it's fun? If we're being honest here, it does seem like you actually camp/proxy camp quite a bit, you're just not willing to fully admitt to it. I could be wrong of course, if so, I'm sorry, but it seems unlikely. You then come of as being very entitled, basically saying that if the survivors "doesn't respect you" and unhooks someone while you are nearby, it is their fault that you punish the person that's being unhooked, that has no control over the situation, by tunneling them? Why do you pass the blame for your choices, your behaviour, not only to the survivors, but to the one survivor that has no say in when they get unhooked? Why are you annoyed that survivors "unhook too fast"? What's too fast? Everyone needs to get to second hook stage before they're unhooked? Everyone needs to be 1 second away from hitting 3rd hook stage before they're unhooked? You have to be on the other side of the map before they unhook, or you punish the person being unhooked for it? I'm sorry, but that makes no sense at all. If you want to "punish" someone, why not actually punish the person responsible, the one who unhooked when you were still very close? That's a logical argument, and it isn't tunneling, and very much a common and non-toxic thing to do. I call bs here, you tunnel because it's more efficient, it helps you win more games. You call others toxic for unhooking too fast, and then say it's not toxic when you tunnel, because it's their fault? Can you not see how illogical your argument is?

I will agree that yes, most of the time it's dumb for survivors to insta-unhook when the killer is still very close by. That's not a "free pass" to tunnel, and in no way can you blame the survivors for the fact that you're tunneling. They're making it easier for you to tunnel, and you take advantage of that, and then clear your conscious by making up some contrived illogical reason where you pass the blame for your actions onto someone else. Please, have some self-perception. You say that you didn't use to tunnel, because it was toxic. What changed? My guess is that your MMR went up, you faced teams that you struggled against, you couldn't win without tunneling, and then you came up with a poor excuse to pass the blame for you tunneling onto others, and now you feel like you can tunnel as much as you want, and it's not toxic at all.

Why do you care so much about winning? Sure, it's fun, and you get a bit more bp for it, absolutely. I have already stated that I do tunnel as well, if I am facing particulary toxic survivors, but then I try to have fun and meme with the non-toxic players, before I let them escape. With or without tunneling/camping, would you agree that the most fun games are the ones where it's a fairly even match? The kind of games where a small mistake on your part can lead to you getting 0-1 kills, or a small mistake on the survivors part can lead to 3-4 kills? The games were I get 4 kills in 4 minutes are honestly no fun, and the games where I struggle to even get a hook or two are no fun. With tunneling and camping, you can increase your MMR to the point where the survivors are simply much better than you, and you don't stand a chance of winning if you don't tunnel and camp.

Personally, I would rather have a MMR where I get matched against survivors that I have a fair chance of winning against, without resorting to tunneling and camping, instead of facing survivors where I have to tunnel and camp to stand a chance of winning. I also learn more from playing challenging matches against survivors where I simply have to learn how to better predict where they'll go, I have to outsmart them when they're looping me to down them as fast as possible, I have to figure out when it's worth dropping a chase to go after someone else or protect a gen or a hex totem. If you tunnel and camp, all you learn is how to tunnel someone, counting how long until their BT or DS is gone, how to stand still right next to the survivor on the hook, or how to run in a 20-meter radius and proxy-camp. You won't improve in any meaningful way, and you'll never be a good or even okayish killer that way. Why are you more focused on increasing your MMR, instead of focusing on becoming a better killer?

Trust me, you will never learn how to deal with a half-decent swf if you camp and tunnel every game, and you're not likely to get many, if any, kills against teams like that that way either. The only thing that'll happen is that you'll get frustrated, complain that survivors needs to be nerfed, or accuse them of cheating. Stop tunneling, stop camping, accept that you're going to lose matches for a while until your MMR settles on an accurate level for your ability as a killer, and try to learn how to be better. Watch some tips and tricks videos on youtube, maybe watch some killer main streamers to see how they play, try to actively predict where survivors will run, what gens they'll do, look up good builds for specific killers, and actually try to improve. You've taken a short-cut to higher MMR by camping and tunneling, but you haven't learned how to be a better killer on the way there, and now it's frustrating trying to win games, because camping and tunneling isn't as efficient any more.

Also, your last two posts almost look like they were written by someone else. You're much calmer and sensible, and you come off much better in those posts. I fully agree with you in those two posts, I wish your reply to me would've been written more that way. I know that I passed judgement on you in my previous post, and in this one as well. It's not meant to bully you, make fun of you or belittle you, eventhough I realize that it might be interpreted that way. My intention was to highlight the fact that you were passing the blame of your actions onto someone else, while punishing an innocent person, and I wanted to call you out on that bs.

You say that you can't change other people, and while it is true that some people are just way to stubborn to change, or to admit that they were wrong, change is always possible. I've had post-game chats where I played as a survivor, and the killer at first was being very hostile, saying similar things as you did in your post that I quoted here, "stfu, I can play however I want" etc, where in the short time you can chat before you're disconnected, they agreed that yeah, they shouldn't tunnel, they said sorry, and we ended the convo in a friendly manner wishing eachother gl in the next game. I do think that we can have a non-hostile conversation with eachother, I do believe that you can agree that tunneling and camping is toxic, and that you can agree that you shouldn't do it. Camp and tunnel toxic teabagging, flashlight-clicking survivors all you want, if they wanna be toxic, you're justified in being toxic towards them in return. It's not a free licence to punish non-toxic survivor for it, even if you believe that they may be a swf however.

And to bring it back to being more ontopic to the thread again, as you haven't really had any input on the actual first post in the thread other than "If camping will be nerfed they have to nerf loops as well.", what is your opinion on it? Should camping be nerfed? If so, do you agree with what any of us have suggested so far, do you have other suggestions? Why does loops need to be nerfed even more than they are, with the recent trend of only releasing anti-loop killers? That just pushes the game to the point where all a survivors can do is hold W, and there's very little a survivor can do to become better or more skillfull at the game. They can either hide and not be found, or hold W when found. The most skillfull thing a survivor can do currently, against killers where it's possible, is to loop them to take up as much of the killers time as they can before they're hooked, thereby increasing the chance of some or all survivors escaping. I suggested that maybe killers should get a short speed-burst after hooking a survivor, that would buff killers that doesn't camp, to incentivize them not to camp, and make it more efficient to leave the hook and go for someone else, whilst OPs original post deals with how to punish killers that are camping, by severely increasing the time for survivors on a hook to progress through hook stages. Personally, I feel like the combo of those suggestions would have a large impact, both in terms of drasticly lowering the amount of campers, but also buffing killers in general, without buffing the strongest killer, Nurse, in any meaningful way, thereby bringing all killers slightly closer in power to Nurse, which is a good thing. The power-gap between Nurse and all other killers is much too big. That still does not deal with tunneling, which is the bigger issue, as if you tunnel someone out of the game very early, or they dc the first time they're downed, it's a massive advantage for the killer, and the game is honestly not balanced at all for the game being a 3v1 two minutes into the game.

We have no statement about this at all at the present time, it's not about passing it on. That's what I am trying to explain to you.

Well, the only conclusion that I can draw from that, is that either the answer is "No, but we're not gonna say that, because we don't want backlash for it" or "We don't care, we haven't bothered to even look into it and we have no plans to do so at all".

If the answer was yes and that it was being worked on, but you don't want to announce it yet, you would still be able to pass it on, and it could have a small chance of having an impact on an announcement coming sooner rather than later. You make it sound like there's basically no hope for it happening, at least not with current plans. There's no one to pass it on to, because it's not happening. Meanwhile, we're still stuck with either accepting that we're stuck on a sub-par platform forever, give up hope and move to a different platform, just stop playing all together, or hope that one day, maybe, BHVR will change their minds and let us move somewhere else (or that Windows Store finally fixes their issues, eventhough it's been years and nothing has been fixed yet, so not very likely).

I can't help but feel like I've wasted lots of time and money on the game now. All other major PC platforms gets cross progression, eventhough they're already on a far superior platform, they get free bp through codes that does not always work on Windows Store, they get access to the PTB, they can turn off crossplay without having to wait in queue for hours to get a game, and they don't have to deal with all the unique issues that happens with Windows Store only. I guess we're just second-class citizens, while people on Steam can buy DLCs cheaper on other sites than us, and people on Epic will be able to buy the game, auric cells and DLCs cheaper as well, due to Epic taking a lower cut (unless BHVR decides to charge the same and just proffit more on Epic store). Great.

  • Yeah, but that's the reason that I made the thread, to get a yes or no, not a "no comment".

The answer is either some form of yes, no or we don't care (which is basically a no, that can become a yes if enough people make a fuss about it). I understand that it could be something that's being worked on, but might be hitting similar issues as the cross-progression with Switch, and rather than being upfront about it, the devs have chosen to not say anything incase it takes longer than they planned, or it ends up being completely abandoned, as that could potentionally have a bigger negative impact than not saying anything at all. I much prefer a dev team that is upfront and honest though. I'd rather get a "we're working on it, but we've ran into issues, we'll update you when we have more information", even if it ends up being a no in the end because there's some issue outside of their control that they can't fix, instead of just waiting in silence for what could be days, could be years, with no new info on the issue at all.

Again, if the answer is no, I would like to know why not. If the answer is yes, I realize that the current situation could be similar to that of the Switch issues they're facing, but that's a good enough answer to me cause at least I'll know they're working on it. The only "not acceptable" answer is "we don't care", as in they haven't even given it a thought yet, and have no plans to even look into the possibility of making it happen. I have no idea how long the game will be included in Game Pass, but at some point that deal is going to run out, and BHVR is going to be in a situation where people want to continue playing on their accounts, but they don't want to buy the game on Windows Store due to their many issues. It would be nice to have a clear answer one way or the other as soon as possible. If the answer is no, there's no point in continuing playing the game on the Windows Store version unless you're willing to be stuck on that platform, you're better of just cutting your losses and move to a different platform as soon as possible instead, before you've invested even more time and money. If the answer is yes, even if it's going to take some time, we can relax, knowing that we'll eventually be able to move to a better platform, and our time and money isn't being wasted. If the answer truely is that there's been no thought put into this at all, it's high time to do something about it, so you have enough time to solve any potential issues with making cross-progression work before the game is removed from Game Pass.

I realize that you can't currently make a statement one way or the other, and I appriciate you taking the time to reply, but I guess what I'm asking is if you can pass this issue to someone that can make a statement? It is important, because those of us on Game Pass/Windows Store that would love to move to a different platform, deserve to know if we're gonna be stuck here, and if we're just wasting time/money that we could've been better of just abandoning all of it and just move to a different platform as soon as possible instead of "hoping for the best", spending more time and money on Windows Store/Game Pass only to never get an answer, or getting a "no" 3 years from now.

  • First off, I don't run spine chill, so the only benefit that I might have because of it, is if it saves randoms that I get matched with from dying as fast.

I don't see why spine chill should be nerfed against the one type of killers it's actually good for? Everyone else has a terror radius, so you can tell how far away they are, and if they're getting closer without having spine chill at all. I'd argue that the one thing that spine chill is actually useful for, is exactly stealth killers. If we wanna continue with the same argument, then tinkerer should also block spine chill, no? At that point, the perk does pretty much nothing useful that other perks doesn't do better, and the perk is just completely dead.

I'd argue that it's a somewhat useful perk for newer players, and that it's not even close to OP in any way, and mostly not that great at all for a survivor with a little bit of experience and skill... The focus should never be to nerf advantages that newer/less skilled players may have, it can help them while they're learning the game. The repair speed is never going to have a match-winning impact, and the only other useful part is vault speed that might be able to extend the time that you can loop a killer. With the recent trend of only releasing anti-loop killers, that value is quickly diminishing as well.

And all of this is without even mentioning the fact that as a stealth killer, you can just strafe to survivors so that their spine chills doesn't even go off, and completely negates the one thing you're all complaining about. Honestly, spine chill is used fairly rarily, is super easy to avoid triggering, isn't that great and mostly used by newer/less skilled players. If you can't take 3 seconds to figure out how to avoid triggering spine chill to begin with, don't blame the fact that you are losing games on the perk. The issue is you. Watch some tutorial vids, learn new tricks, learn how to mindgame, how to predict where a player will run, and spend 3 seconds on realizing that you can just turn your view slightly to the side as you're getting close to a survivor and their spine chills won't even activate until you're close enough to get a hit on them.

Great ideas there, the speed boost after the hook would give a better map control to the killer. Actually it is a really good idea.

And the camping penalty is a must now. I'm a 50/50 player and don't want to camp at all and i hate it when i play survivor to see a killer camping while 4 gens are left...

And a few days ago, i have faced a Freddy camper... he justified it because he has said that we gen rushed him. I have checked his stream, we did 3 gens in 4 minutes, the time he needed to find a survivor and down him.

4 minutes, 3 gens, knowing the gens speed, it was clearly not a gen rush...

Bad killers always find justification to play toxic.

Yeah, I never camp or tunnel either, unless a survivor is just being very toxic. If they keep teabagging me and clicking their flashlights every chance they get, I'll make sure that person dies and then I'll let the other 3 escape. While I enjoy winning, I get greater pleasure from ensuring that toxic players aren't having a fun match, while I can just have fun and meme with the non-toxic players before I let them escape.

If I run into games where I can't win without tunneling and/or camping, I honestly don't mind taking the loss. I've been matched against a team that's clearly better than me, I'll do my best to get whatever kills I can, but I won't punish a random player by camping/tunneling them, just because I'm not good enough to win the match without that. I don't enjoy doing it, the survivor getting camped/tunneled doesn't enjoy it, I don't learn how to get better by just face camping instead of playing the game, so it's just negative in every way imo. On top of that, if I tunnel and camp my way from what would've been a 0-1 kill game into a 3-4 kills game, I gain MMR, and will face harder teams, that I will struggle even more against, forcing me to tunnel and camp harder to stand a chance of getting 3-4 kills, until I start facing teams that no matter what I do, I have no chance of getting a single kill, which is just frustrating. I'd rather take the loss when I face survivors that are simply better than me, and then I lose some MMR and face a team that's more evenly matched, and I can learn how to be a better killer over time.

I don't understand the killers who are so focused on always getting the most kills the can, no matter what. Camping/tunneling will get you more kills on low/mid ranks, which will raise your MMR, which will eventually match you against survivors that will steamroll you, you'll get frustrated and claim they're toxic, they're cheating, survivors needs to be nerfed etc, rather than admitting that the only thing you're good at is tunneling for easy kills, and face camping. Methods that works well on lower MMR, but will lose you every game at higher MMR if that's the only thing you're good at. I guess getting 3-4 kills makes people think that they're supperior to the players that they were up against, while they refuse to acknowledge that tunneling is clearly very unbalanced and gives killers a massive advantage, especially if they do it right from the start of the game. Any time they do lose, they blame others for it, like if the killer face camps one person to death on first hook while the rest of the survivors do the gens and escape, I've seen a bunch of killers say stuff like "why didn't you save your friend" and "you suck because you didn't help your teammate, you're bad, so I won" etc.. It's dumb. If they win by abusing poor balancing, they think they're great. If they lose, they somehow think that they only lost because the survivors were bad, which of course makes no sense.. No matter what, in their mind, they're great killers and no one can convince them otherwise, lol.

The only cross progression that's been announced as being in place is between Steam, Stadia & shortly Epic Game Store. We have stated that there are currently issues that we are addressing with Switch Cross Progression....we have not announced that cross progression will come to any other platform, and we have no news about other platforms at this time.

Yeah, I'm aware of that, which is why I made the post. Someone, somewhere, has made a decision on if cross progression for Windows Store/Game Pass is planned or not, which is a very different statement than not having announced it. I'd rather get a clear yes or no, than no official word on it either way. If the reason that there is no official word on it, is because the answer is no, I would appriciate an explanation as to why not. If the answer is yes, there's no reason to keep us in the dark. Not saying anything is not an answer.

  • Bumping this, as I would really like an official comment on this. Being kept in the dark on if this is planned or not doesn't help anyone. If it's not planned, I would at least like to know that, and what justification there is to treat us differently than all the other PC platforms. If yes, there's no reason to not tell us, other than if the answer is "yes, at some point, when we can be bothered, it might happen in a month, might happen in 7 years, who knows".
