Cool character but perks are garbage.

Especially boon. It's worst boon perk ever.

I so agree, there’s nothing like the progenitor of boonery herself, Ms. Queen of eating on Starbucks on a Sunday morning while typing away on her Mac Chromebook and having a Yerba mate drink at arms reach. Let’s not forget the unnecessarily oversized and round Harry Potter glasses, cosplaying as a wicked witch from Hog… oh wait that’s right we don’t love that anymore, I meant to say cosplaying as a witch from Elden ring, upon her name indeed.

    Her freckles? Tattooed.

Her hair? A wig from party city, except not even because she doesn’t buy from major corporations.

You can find her on tumblr and on MySpace, complaining about how she was recently called an aged millennial hipster that is trying too hard to cling to her youth, insulted by some bratty zoomer of all people.

Sooo... Alan Wake is coming to DbD. Thoughts?

Just googled him and I saw him wearing an FBI outfit, he can be my FBI agent anytime. Joking btw.

  • There are some inconsistencies in your post, you say that playing killer is now easy 99% of the time yet claim in the following paragraph that both sides must now play like robots, I take playing like robots as being equivalent to try harding. I also notice that you lament that the looping gameplay has remained the same for years now, yet also lament that the game has changed too much since it was created, and I correlate this too quick of a change with the looping game mode that you brought up as there has only ever been one game mode in dbd, so any drastic changes that were made to the game would have been reflected on that one and only game mode.

I don’t really know where you are coming from tbh, the game has either changed too fast to the point where newer players cannot keep up with said changes or the game has remained the same since its creation.

You long for the return of the good old days yet point out that some of these aspects should be changed, like the looping gameplay. I am not sure if you are aware that the developers have released a survey where they asked the community whether they would be interested in playing different game modes, the names of these game modes escape me as they were pretty generic, placeholder titles it seemed, so I think that you can put that issue to somewhat of a rest because the developers are aware of it and they may be working on new game modes in the future.

You also decided to bring up some issues that are entirely unrelated to the gameplay mechanics, and are more so aligned with the representation of a portion of the dbd community. I personally don’t really see a problem with any of the changes that were brought for the sake of representation and even remaining sensitive to some issues like the whole bubba face mask thing, as this shows that the developers are willing to be mindful about sensitive issues that affect a portion of the community. I am personally glad that the developers are not using fictional media, i.e. lore, as an excuse or justification so to be disrespectful to a group of people. I think that the history behind such vile practices so to mock a group of people that were already being dehumanized is of greater weight than some made up lore.

Let’s also recognize that a lot of these killers were created in a time period where society held different stands/ values, and so they will naturally need to have some adjustments if they are going to be presented to the modern crowd, as many people now do not subscribe to the values of old, so to speak.

I don’t know what else to tell you other than things change over time, not much that we can do about it really. Perhaps you should reconsider whether this game and community is even for you anymore, as you find yourself making unreasonable requests like undoing years of work.

  • Yes, there are too many of them, I have made my own niche builds for the killers that I play, and my own niche build for my survivor. If I feel like trying something new then I familiarize, or even re-familiarize myself with other perks.

There are more perks than there are elements in the periodic table, for heaven’s sake.

  • It would help reduce the frequency of tunneling, I am not sure if the reduction would be of any significance. Decisive strike has already enjoyed a 5 sec long stun in the past, and tunneling was still prevalent back then.

Also, I believe that the developers were interested in changing the balancing of the game so to have the player base treat all the available perks as their own niche perks, thereby increasing the diversity of builds that players would encounter in every match. They may not want to buff a perk like decisive strike, a perk which has enjoyed the position of being a part of the meta perks for quite some time, and risk proliferating its usage again.

I keep seeing people treat tunneling as an issue to be fixed in its entirety, instead of a valid strategy, validated by the current win/loss system which is kill and escape based, as scummy as it may seem for many people, some players have no regards for community ordained rules, i.e. the survivor or even the killer rule book for that matter. If a killer wants to focus on a select survivor for the sake of getting a kill, then they will do that, similarly, if a survivor wants to focus exclusively on gens so to escape, then they will do that, the current system rewards such behaviors.

The game needs to start compensating killers more for every new interaction that is had per survivor, and then judge how well a player did in said interaction and reward them accordingly, and stop punishing them so severely for not getting enough kills per match, then the community would have to change its idea of what it means to win in this game for both the killer and the survivor side, and have the reward system in the game actually be in alignment with this new viewpoint. If the reward system is not in alignment with this new idea of what it means to win in this game, then the community is simply deluding itself into a perspective which the current reward system is antagonistic towards.

I remember that some members of the community characterized threads such a these, ones that focused on a change in perk(s) or addon(s), as threads which focused on treating the symptoms of a larger problem within the game.

Unfortunately, I think that it is unlikely that the developers will adopt a reward system which is performance based, as kills and escapes are a core element of this game, and are the determining factor of a win/loss. Some people believe that this system made more sense in dbd’s earlier days, when it was not so competitive, but now that it has become a hyper competitive game, people believe that adopting a performance based reward system would make more sense. For example, reward a player which kept the killer busy for a good while, and was altruistic and even sacrificed so that the rest of the team could perform other tasks like finishing generators, or even doing side objectives as the new system would reward survivors more for their over all performance, and reward less for, and even punish a player for not doing enough activities in a match, and yes, I would count being hooked and sacrificed as activities which should be rewarded.

Thankfully the developers have shown an interest in adding more game modes into the game, so perhaps they can now release a mode which is dedicated to the competitive scene. Assuming that the game brings about such a mode, I would expect the problem then be to have competitive players treat the casual game mode as if it were competitive, and seeing how the members of this community like to treat each other, I would not be surprised if it were to happen fairly quickly. Maybe even risk having the competitive game mode be dead on arrival.

So I believe that a change in a few perks will not bring about a significant and lasting change in the tactics used by players within the game. We have seen this play out when the developers dared touch the previous established meta build, a build which enjoyed such a status for quite a while mind you, the tactics used by player’s remained more or less the same, gen rush for survivors and tunneling for killers. It’s just that, now that there is an increase in the diversity of perks used by the survivors, the killer players are overwhelmed and so they double down on tunneling so that they may be rewarded by the current system by getting kills early, as the survivors will rightfully be focusing on gen rushing because, again, the current system rewards such behavior.

  • I remember, years ago, the same question was asked by members of the community and the common response was that her ability was boring, that people did not enjoy playing her as she could only focus in areas where she had set up her web of traps, having a limiting gameplay experience when compared to other killers, like speed killers.

This aligns with the view that one of the most fun experiences that can be had while playing as a killer is to get into a chase with a survivor, hag’s power cuts most of that out of the equation, she also has her base movement speed reduced to account for this.

I personally enjoy playing hag, she’s one of my favorite killers.

She still chases, you just herd them into the traps. You make it sound like she just waits...

There is a discussion being had right now about what constitutes a chase in this game. Not sure if you’ve posted in it yet, I’ve only skimmed the thread. But for the sake of using your interpretation of a chase, I think that people are talking about a chase that goes on for x amount of time, long enough for people to be satisfied with. Not really sure if that means much since people will have a varying sense how how long a chase should last until it no longer feels satisfying.

  • I haven’t encountered a single hacker yet, believe it or not. But I believe you as I remember that hackers were an issue in dbd well before I got bored of the game years ago.

I don’t know what to tell you tbh.

  • I do not agree with trapper actually needing to chase, his power is designed to literally prevent that from happening.

I agree about wraith and Hillbilly, although Hillbilly has the chase cut out for him given his superior ability as it poses a greater threat to survivors when compared to a stealthy-ish killer without the base ability of downing a survivor with one hit. Also, wraith wouldn’t need to chase if he weren’t this odd speed/stealth hybrid killer that’s gargling his own saliva 24/7, i.e. he gives away his location quite easily.

Nurse is iconic and she’s just above and beyond. If any “veteran” dbd player dares to refer to themselves as such without having paid homage to the Queen of Queens and Lady of Ladies by mastering her on a console controller then they can go ahead and continue to play pretend. Only being half serious about this btw. Oh, and yeah she doesn’t really need to chase at all.

A killer with the range that huntress enjoys does not really need to chase, she can hit a survivor from a good distance and one hit is all it takes to reduce a survivor from one health state to the other. I think that killers with a more limited range like deathslinger would need to chase because of said limitation, and trickster as well, he needs to hit survivors too many times just to bring them down from one health state, so he needs to chase.

All the killers mentioned right before ghosts face need to chase I think, Hag being one exception as her power is trap based, and pig being another exception as she can stealth around and hit survivors from a distance with that portion of her ability where she can zoom fast as she growls. Ghost face himself doesn’t really need to chase, he can hide and use his ability to catch survivors off guard. There are many instances of this happening in game.

I just read the reasons that you have for blight and I would say that as strong as his ability is, it still amounts to a chase.

I think that most killers that don’t have a strong range, stealth or trap ability would need to chase.

You know, I just read the other comments and it looks like people can’t agree on the definition of the word chase. So everything that’s been said thus far has been thrown out the window now. With the exception of what I said about nurse, that’s dbd gospel, a part of our constitution in fact.

I agree with the other posters in that some of the interactions between killers and survivors are too complicated to simply have x killer be defined as a killer that needs or does not need to chase. For example, the onryo coming out of her tv and getting a hit on a survivor before the chase prompt initiates and the chase music commences.

For the sake of simplicity, I think that we should define chase as being a killer which can reduce one survivor health state without triggering the chase prompt; the chase officially starts the moment the dramatic chase music starts. Please ignore everything I said about the killers thus far, none of that matters anymore, with the exception of Nurse, she’s a Queen. The Immortal Empress Goddess Queen Princess Queen Queen Sally Smithson.

Also, I am not sure how good of a definition of the word chase there can be other than to base the definition on the mechanics of the game, that way we don’t lose ourselves with odd moments, or have to mental gymnastics our way around a killer’s power. It is not a good foundation to base our definition of the word chase given how clunky that mechanic in itself is, but it’s the best thing that we have other than to have some dev release a statement or something.

  • Tbh, if I were a brand new player I would have thought that the breakable walls were left over game design from dbd’s early days.

    @[Deleted User] said:

Saloon is the only map breakable walls make any sense.

I think that’s where the developers first implemented breakable walls into the game.

  • I think that neither side should exclusively be the power role because then players would flock to the side that is inherently more powerful. This was an issue in Friday the 13th , and to deal with this issue the player that would play the role of killer was selected randomly. I would rather get to choose the role that I want to play.

  • @neasbasement said:

Ive seen some complaints but I can’t say if those are just survivors with biased opinions or what so that’s why i’m starting this one. Me personally I absolutely despise going against him he’s just too fast for a ranged killer and if your anywhere without a pallet and tall wall to loop your dead, there’s one add on too I don’t know what it’s called but it makes his blades ricochet, that add on I feel like turns the player into a spray and pray type. And there’s not much counter play, at least with huntress or death slinger you can crouch and avoid their shots and it’s not detrimental to you because they get slowed when aiming or winding up. I can’t say anything on playing him because I don’t have him unlocked and most likely won’t just because of how unbearable he is to vs currently. Curious to know if people are also on the verge of dcing when they see him in game.

I didn’t really notice much of a difference when I last played against him a few days ago, whatever changes were made for him I don’t find them to be all that drastic.

I will never forgive behaviour for butchering hillbilly. Never. They don't have the guts to reverse the damage to my poor billy.

I personally think that hillbilly was not butchered because he already had a very powerful ability, an ability with little guardrails as he could spam it to oblivion with virtually no consequence for doing so. Because of this, people rightfully asked behavior to add some restraint to his power.

I don’t understand why some people need him to be in that overpowered state just to find him viable.

Now, I don’t typically like saying this given its derogatory connotation, but, and I’m saying this as respectfully as I can, but perhaps it’s a skill issue.

I would add a copium pepe the frog meme here but I don’t want to add salt to a festering wound which has been continuously picked on for years now as the Billy changes happened literally years ago. I’m gonna quote from a Taylor Swift song titled “Daylight” and say to just let it go. This isn’t directed to you personally, but more so generally to the people that hold the view that Billy was butchered.

It’s hard for me to believe that some people are holding a genuine grudge towards a company over balancing a character in a video game. Character balancing is natural in online video games like these, some of these changes are going to be changes that we will not like, and if these changes truly turn out to be that much of a hindrance to x character, then the developers will adjust accordingly, it’s literally their job to focus on the health of their game. Don’t hold it against the developers for doing their job.

Concerning the main topic of this post, I mean yeah, a vocal minority is not the majority, but this does not mean that the complaints of a vocal minority should be completely disregarded over that simple fact. Now, I can’t confirm, but I do suspect that behavior does not operate under a direct democratic system where majority rule takes precedence over the views of the minority all the time, as such, we should not expect them to base their decisions solely on the popular opinion held by the community at a given point in time.

  • Nope, I consider cosmetic purchases to be a one and done ordeal. I personally don’t see the point of passing on my progress if my characters are going to be looking like generic Joes and Nancys.

But I get why it would be done, as there are people that are willing to spend money to own cosmetics which they already own on the platform that they are leaving behind/ will be decreasing their usage of x platform.

I am unwilling to repurchase cosmetics on different platforms for any game because I personally view my cosmetic purchases to be intertwined with the rest of my game progression. This means that I exclusively play dbd on the ps5. Same for any other games that have a more limited interpretation of cross progression.

Also, when I returned to the game after not having touched it for a prolonged period of time, I ran with the game breaking issue of not having a single cosmetic unlocked, everything was gone. Had that issue not been resolved completely then I would have considered that to be the nail in the coffin of my dbd days.

Progression is very important to me, especially progress which took a good chunk of time and money to achieve, for example I was once a player of Ark survival, in short, I ran into some silly bug which required of me to level up my character from the base level which all new characters start at, all the way to the level that I had reached, this bug would reset my level every time I would exit the game, so it became a hassle. Unfortunately, the developers were incapable of fixing this bug as it persisted for some time, eventually my file corrupted and all progress was lost, and no, a copy of my file did not resolve the issue, they all had the same problem, unfortunately, the developers were unwilling or incapable or remedying the situation. I’ve not touched the game since.

I ran into another corruption issue in my beloved Minecraft world as well, this one actually hurt as I have had my survival world since I was little, copies of the world would have the same problem, but because of how emotionally attached I had become to it I didn’t give up on it so easily and I cynically made copies of the world in hopes that some method would resolve the issue. Turns out that putting my world on realms fixed the issue, so in a way I indirectly payed the company behind Minecraft to fix my world.

Once my world was fixed I canceled my subscription as soon as possible as I believe that it is an inferior gaming experience when compared to non-realm worlds. But anyway, my world was fixed and I now make copies of it every time before I open it up and after I’ve finished playing. I’ve had some copies corrupt since so It is 100% worth being this cautious.

In short, progression is very important to me; I reject/ disagree with this limited interpretation of cross progression, but I get why it’s done, because money or whatever. Don’t really see another reason why cosmetics can’t be considered as part of the cross progression system other than that, maybe some of you have another perspective in mind?

Anyway, I thank you lovely troops for spending, what some would characterize to be as disposable income, into stuff that you’ve already purchased. I guess you can come to terms in getting the shortest end of the deal by thinking that, at the very least, your survivor/ killer of choice will be looking Gucci on pc/xbox/ps, and not just exclusively looking very Versace on a single one of those platforms. You can even flex this on your friends by telling them that you’re expensive in all facets of dbd, meanwhile they are only Gucci on pc, but Walmart in everything else.

  • Concerning whether such a feat of a win streak should even be possible, we need to know how many players are even capable of accomplishing something like that and how often it happens as well.

Now, I can’t confirm but I do suspect that the game is balanced around the average player’s skill, as such the people that play the game professionally would obviously be able to take advantage of the game’s mechanics and outperform the sea of mediocrity that they likely encounter whenever they play the game. I say mediocrity with endearment btw.

If the community reaches a consensus and thinks that such feats should not be achievable by even the highest skilled among us, then the next phase of this conversation would be whether the game should be balanced for the average player, as it may be now, or whether the game should be balanced for the mlg pro 420 no scope ur mum veterans.

Now, I remember years ago that the forum was being bombarded with passionate posts about whether the game should be balanced for the average player or for the pros, so I am wondering whether we will be seeing a resurgence of said posts given that people like to use outliers of great skill/ gameplay performance to form the basis of their arguments concerning game balance.

My memory is a bit hazy, but I think that the developers had already taken the position of balancing the game with the average player’s skill in mind. This was a while ago, so perhaps their stance on the matter has changed.

  • Mmmmmm, yes us proper fancy players deserve to be recompensed for our player etiquette, like lifting our pinky while playing the game, or saying “Good day sir” to a face camping bubba.

Call the reward package “Proper plays by proper players”.

  • I agree with the developers, p100 is way too much. Maybe have the rewards unlocked at p10 or p20.

I feel like I’ve played this game to oblivion and my character with the most prestige is Onryo, and she’s at p10.

  • The most normal looking ones that don’t really have some type of supernatural power like Trapper. I could hide from those for a good while.

I would be too freaked out if I went against any of the other ones like Spirit, Freddy, etc.

  • @Atsuka_Anarchy said:

I've seen that some people have 5+ P100 characters and I don't understand how tho?

    Ikr, I’m just like…. I don’t even….. I can’t.

I don’t understand how anybody has a single p100 of anything.

    Anyway, my list:

Onryo p10, Nurse p7, Feng(phone) p7, Spirit p6, and I have a few that are at p5, they are Bubba, Doctor, and Hag.

  • Perhaps it’s the prevalence of Iconic licensed killers which decreased the popularity of unique killers.

I’m personally encountering less killers that were designed by the developers, with the exception of a few powerful ones like blight.

Maybe it’s just my region but I have encountered a lot of the licensed stealth killers since I started playing again.

I don’t think spirit needs to be reworked tbh, I remember the time when she was the main focus on the forums and one of the prevailing concerns was that Spirit would be too finicky to tweak. A concern which may have been valid given how she basically phased out of existence from the game since her last rework was released, but I am still not sure if this warrants a rework in her abilities, the community does have the tendency to overreact whenever the developers change anything in the game.

But if the developers are to rework her again then what would her new power be like? I don’t really know how they would change her power while staying true to her character, and by that I mean that she is the doppelgänger Sadako/ Kayako.

You know, now that we have the xenomorph killer and it’s animation of walking on all four legs, then perhaps we can give a similar animation to the spirit to make her more creepy, making her more of a contortionist.

  • I’m so sorry that you didn’t enjoy this game, it’s true that it’s not for everyone and the community does have a reputation of being pretty toxic.

Anyway, let me suggest other games that may be to your liking like Roblox or Animal crossing, and even Minecraft. I’ve heard that those games are much more exhilarating compared to this game.

If you’re feeling a little daring then you can graduate from the games mentioned above and move on to Chess, Checkers and Super Tetris. Don’t forget to put on some heavy metal music from renowned artists like Mozart and Beethoven.

Then you can finally relax by playing Elden Ring while listening to classical music, one of my favorites being a piece titled “Starships (Pachelbel-Canon in D version)” by Nicolette Minajarette.

I just don't want to play this game anymore and I just pissed off at the recent QNA on Reddit where to the point I'm just not playing because they still won't fix problematic issues in the game and replay with the same bullshit like "Our Team is looking into the problem we cannot share anything right".

Perhaps deleting your data would be an overreaction, don’t you think? You may come to regret it at a later date.

Just don’t start the game up if you don’t want to play it anymore.

  • Nurse and hag, or bubba. One to hunt the survivors, the other to guard them as they die on the hook.

  • Exactly, the point is that people will always find a way to disengage from the match that they don’t want to be a part of anymore.

If a mechanic is added to prevent players from killing themselves right away, then the obvious issue to follow would be how do we keep players from going afk? Should there be a system in place which would keep track of the amount of time that a given player spent being afk? And after x amount of time has been accumulated then a warning of an eventual ban would be given?

I would say that the tracker would start once the first crow is flying over the player’s character, unless you would like to be lenient and wait for the tracker to start once all the crows have spawned.

  • Omg ikr? It makes my heart race too and I love it so much. Especially when I get an elite no scope 360 or whatever swf squad that bully me with their flashlights while I re-learn how to play nurse with the ps5 controller.

That’s the dbd spirit that I’ve missed so much.

  • It’s a part of dbd culture to consider everything toxic/ be offended over everything.

I would say that the other person would be the nuclear power plant, given their reaction.

    Hopefully they were just joking.

  • That looks like a giant dead roach.

It would be nice to have a killer that is not bi-pedal.

  • Because her name is Maria and all Marias are expensive and high maintenance

They only wear designer and their favorite song is a Lady GaGa song which is titled “Donatella”.

“She costs more than the dlc itself” she knows her self worth like the true boss Queen that she is.

Seeing as that aggressive approach you yourself used to get Billy changed worked and my suggestions over the years about simple optimization changes didn't, I think we can tell who BHVR will listen to.

I’m not sure what you mean about me being aggressive when it came to the whole Billy ordeal, sorry if I came off that way, it’s difficult for me to properly convey myself online as it is hard to tell the tone of a post without literally mentioning it in the post itself. I will say that I like to express myself and that I do not appreciate it when someone else tries to impose their will onto me, but I respect people’s differing viewpoints and can make peace when and if I do not get my likes and wants met.

Also, I think that you are giving me too much credit with the Billy issue, all I did was express myself and there were plenty of people that were doing the same thing. No hard feelings, I hope.

EDIT: My original response seemed a bit harsh, so I'm editing it.

Why didn't you focus on learning Hillbilly's counters? It was perfectly possible to escape against him.

There was nothing wrong with Billy, save for one specific add-on combo and even that can be debatable.

I learned his counters and did alright against him, that still doesn’t detract from the issue of his ability having too much reward and too little drawbacks. He was and continues to be a very powerful killer, he really doesn’t need to be able to essentially spam his ability like he used to be able to do. One hit is all it takes to down a survivor that is at full health, on top of this, he travels very quickly while using his ability. Those things are very powerful and no killer should be able to spam that, counters notwithstanding.

Yeah that may have been a bit extreme of me to say. Sorry. I don't think he needed any changes outside of insta-saw though and his traversal was fine. His Overheat has been changed to point now where it doesn't really have much impact anymore and he's still pretty bad so I don't think Billy was ever an issue outside of insta-saw.

I still think it was unnecessary and that they only nerfed him because he was a hot topic for a few months.

    No worries!

I think that he needed to have more of a drawback for using his powerful ability, I remember when he was being debated about quite passionately on the forums in those days, and one of the things that was brought up in defense of Billy was that he already had the little animation that would play at the end of using his ability, and that this animation essentially served as a cool down already. I mean…. really? After reading that I had a good laugh and was left with the impression that the side that was defending Billy’s original condition were grasping at all the straws, trying to make monument of Billy out of said straws.

  • Well, whatever it is that he decides to do, I hope that if he does leave the community that it will be in good terms, and not in such a negative and dramatic way.

It’s ok to move on with your life, it’s also ok to revisit x moments of your life as realistically possible.

People actually did complain about Billy right before his nerf and an Overheat mechanic was a very common suggestion. So they did technically listen to people, they just listened to the people who complain about everything. All he needed was his instasaw add ons nerfed and he was good.

But much like they did to Freddy a week after his release, they over nerfed almost every aspect as a knee jerk reaction to a vocal minority which just gave them more issues to solve and pushes every other priority back and makes it even longer for other changes to go through. All they need to do is revert all the Hillbilly changes except instasaw and he’s fine for the most part, but instead they keep wasting time doing little things that make no impact (or keep trying to nerf him further) and it just delays everything further.

The amount of time it takes them to make changes is insane. Take MFT for example. They said during the Singularity PTB that they already had a backup plan in case MFT became an issue and yet it still took months for that plan to come to effect despite it being an issue almost immediately. It took them months to buff Trapper after they announced them and all they did was add a Haste and a few more traps. How does that take months yet Knight and Skull Merchant gained Haste a week after release?

I was one of the people that asked for a cool down ability to be implemented for Billy, and I thought that it was necessary to do so as he had too much going for him. He was able to travel long distances quickly and down survivors with one shot, all while having the minuscule penalty of missing his target.

Now that he has the cool down implemented, the killer must be more thoughtful about when, how and where the ability should be used, e.g. to travel long distances quickly, or save the ability in the event that you encounter a survivor that is nearby.

I think that it is unreasonable to characterize the people that asked for this change as people that complain about everything. We pointed out a valid problem that was happening too often in matches that involved Billy, the developers noticed and agreed that the complaints were valid.

They clearly understand that they can milk it.

If their priorities lie in pure financial gain, they're doing great for themselves.

Hopefully people stop buying skins so we actually get a better game because the game is not good. At least other people see that.

I don’t understand your rationale, if the community stops supporting the game financially then the game is more than likely to die as a result, unless you are expecting for this extreme, cave to my demands or suffer financial consequences/ruin approach will somehow lead the developers to some awakening which will get them to listen to the portion of the community that shares the perspective that you hold.

If the portion of the community which shares your opinion is dominated with such an extreme, dictatorial mentality, then it is no wonder why the developers are less responsive to that portion of the community, it’s unapproachable.

My advice would be to take a less aggressive approach so that the developers can become more receptive to what you, and anyone else which shares this perspective, has to say.

Also, I think that the community could benefit in recognizing that the developers clearly know what they are doing when it comes to prolonging the lifespan of the game, it has been around for nearly a decade and it is still doing quite well for such an old game, especially in a time period where games/ technology in general becomes old and outdated in a short period of time.

  • That would be so lovely, to, in a sense, immortalize him in the game he loved.

I remember looking him up often just to see how he was doing once I learned about his disease.

  • I think that behavior is doing amazing and that they should continue to release more skins because that’s what the community prioritizes, collectively, we are literally the ones that decide what is the order of importance within this game, through our wallets.

I remember that some rando dev said once upon a time, something along the lines of, a rancorous community is a healthy community, because it shows that its members are passionate and truly care about the game, those were words of wisdom.

Now, no offense, but I think that it’s a little pompous to say that behavior lacks a proper understanding of their own game, I can’t imagine saying that with a straight face and actually believing in those words.

I mean, who’s understanding of the game would you use to substitute theirs? Your own? Some popular streamer? Some opinionated friend? Or your hypothetical dad that works for Nintendo?

I think that the members of the community which share your disappointment should tamper their expectations.

I've been up for 24 hours playing. I had to play all last week for the double xp. Can't stop now, I'll fall behind on the event Tome. Oh , double bloodpoints? I need to grind this next week too...ect, ect.

    See what I mean?

Like, I have a serious fomo problem. Does anyone find they'd love to take a break but they have fomo and just get burnt out.

    I hate this feeling. 😒

I'm not looking for sympathy, just want the community response to this. Do you say enough is enough or grind on?

    Thanks for reading.

I have no idea what “fomo” even means but if it’s synonymous with addiction then yes, you have a problem. I think that the average dbd player doesn’t have an issue with closing the game to play or do literally anything else.

I’m not trying to be condescending so I’m sorry if I come off that way.

Also, I personally don’t feel guilty about dropping any game whatsoever. I can always start it up again when I have the time.

  • I played as her recently and she is so bad, I hope that the developers pump her with steroids because she needs all the buffs in the world to fix her pitifully weak state.

Also, any ball that could have been dropped was dropped 100 times by now.

  • Because camping is iconic and it is a part of the dbd spirit.

I get that it’s annoying for people to go through but you all need to come to terms with it, it has been and will continue to be a part of the game.

Also, posts like these have come and gone so many times, literally a broken record, so I did not read your passionate essay.

Now go and play a basement bubba match or something.

  • What in the world is this pro survivor propaganda? I just….. I can’t……

Time to main hag for like a week or two, maybe even add a few basement bubba games while I’m at it.

If anything, survivors need to check their privilege.

  • They can give him an extra bicep.

  • They farmed you out of existence.

  • I will pick trapper. I'll use his thighs as pillows and have his third leg at arms reach to use for consolation after waking up from a bad dream.

I want trickster as the side poolboy that trapper will use to cheat on me after he discovers that I think that he has the most boring (non) power in dbd.

"So like.... you have traps and what else? How is that even a power?"

The relationship ends with me calling him a 99 cents version of Jason and that I only ever thought of him when we were together anyway.

  • The hot one.

  • Finally something worth talking about.

I'm glad that trapper kept his mask on, just saying. And that bod, obviously bulging in all the right places. I'm so excited, I can't wait.

    I want him in speedos.

  • I'm so glad they're going to fix it. Those hits always felt so cheap and undeserved.

  • It literally mentions that there were one sided matches with an average of 3k, with 1k being the average on the lower end.

Although they expected for people to settle into their proper ranks eventually all it would take to ruin this proper matchmaking would be to take a break from the game and later return to be matched with the noobs again.

They described it as something that can be done very easily in the text you highlighted so I'd expect this behavior to be rampant.

  • So just slug any female survivors you see and stare at them as they bleed out. Bring a mori for the guys and do this at your discretion.

  • A major flop, she doesn't even know which way she's supposed to comb her hair.

  • What's a baby yoga?

  • Ask him why he's a dentist now and how many infections did he give me with his crusty fingers.

Also ask him if he's changed to collecting teeth now but I probably wouldn't be able to speak properly anyway.

  • Leave because she probably reeks of major body odor, of rot ...I just can't.
