Or...hear me out...i play how I want to and you play how you want to? The killers job is to kill the survivors and not to make sure everyone is having fun

This is so difficult for a ton of players to grasp that it spawned a 7 page brick wall conversation of “them vs us” and “I’m upset they don’t play the way I want; BHVR, please stop this obviously allowed gameplay so I can enjoy the game because I’m not a hypocrite” slop.

Killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, killer wins, gets to High MMR, finally loses, considers this proof that killer can't win.

    Sure, guy.

  • Saving them and waiting for the Anniversary Event would be the most optimal decision. You'll get the items and your level ups.

  • Manchildren will kick and scream typing in all caps or saying whatever dumpster words come to mind regardless of killer being there in the EGC or not.

According to moderators it wasnt a bug fix despite being labelled as a bug fix.

Her model being broken for years was apparently "intended design".
    I cant with these people.

  • I see this as a massive win for players who are hard of hearing. This helps so, so much.

  • Oh good, I'm not the only one. Yeah, this is torture on my eyes ngl.

  • You can play how you want, but all that sauce put on it is just being petty and extra.

Throw one snowball and suddenly the survivors think you're friendly.

Separating the event from the main queue has never felt worse. I just wanna throw snowballs at people while I chase them, I don't wanna become friendly after.

Anybody else having this issue of survivors suddenly thinking you're memeing just because you threw a snowball at them?

I got on DBD after a little break and I had a Dorito head chase me for literally 3 gens throwing snowballs at me, and I was thinking they were playing (hence why I was not downed yet for so long), turns out he was dead serious in chase and was just passing the time by. I got proxy camped for the mistake of stopping and throwing them back at him. My bad.

To be fair, the people who'd dodge lobbies over perks and the people who say the game is more casual and just for fun probably aren't the same.

Wishful thinking, lad. I'd like to think the same as well.

  • Shouldn't be an issue what a player is bringing since there's so many self-proclaimed "casuals" in the game right? Just have fun, right?

  • @Artimenius1307 said:

It's no secret that a party of 3-4 non-casual players was always an outlier in power in dbd, and with BHVR aiming to make the game not as wide as it I believe a change could be at least tested to see if it works out.

The main idea of the change came to me after playing survivor in 2v8: the limit. In 2v8, you can only pick up to 4 of the same class, so why not try something similar for 1v4? It's not an original idea to be fair, many unofficial tournaments and competitive leagues play with a limit for a long while, and I find this change will end up healthy for the game

How the limit should work: It only applies if at least 3 survivors are in a swf. If you are solo, or in a duo, there is no limit, naturally. Maybe for simplicity, all the perks and items (Could be changed for less impactful options) would be limited to 1 per party, so that in a team of 4 only 1 could pick let's say sprint burst and medkit (Though items could probably use a limit of 2). It can also apply to addons above very rare rarity, though that can be done later or not done at all.

    The pros of such changes:
    1) It will drastically reduce the power of people using same perk with great impact, like decisive strikes, dead hards, etc. In turn, it will give more freedom in the design of the perks themselves, since the issue of thinking how 4 people could use this perk in a group will be lesser

    2) It will have an effect on the meta, I don't have any data to say for sure that majority of player base always play in a group of 3-4 but I strongly believe that to be the case because solo is misery

    3) It will open potential new ways to improving the experience of both survivor and killer since the outlier which is swf would have less of an impact on the game balance

Of course, there are also cons:
    1) It is a forceful limit, so naturally people will not like it. I am unsure if anything can be done about that, at least I couldn't think of anything

    2) It will kill certain strategies, and while I will not shed a single tear over gen rush strategy with the stakeout + hyperfocus, some are definitely not as problematic (Maybe the perks which are part of them could be buffed)

A very important note - a change like this absolutely MUST come with something to decrease the power of the outliers on the killer side. It just wouldn't make sense to make swf weaker, and then leave S/A tier killers running around with 4 slowdowns, strongest addons, and hard tunneling right away. However, I am unsure myself how to change this in killer side, an idea I had was to classify certain perks and then put a limit on the perks from same class, say 1-2 maximum. Addons I don't think can be limited, it will be same as removing them, or maybe a certain condition like facing non 3-4 swf lobbies? I will think about it more and maybe create a separate thread regarding killer side

I was talking about this exact idea back in 2020 of primarily playing survivor. This would greatly reduce the "innovative" 4-stack builds and add-ons, and encourage the usage of more underrated and unique perks to form some fun and surprising combos; it just takes a little push to get to that point. Though, I would apply this to solo as well so we don't all have the same smooth brain idea of running the same perks, and same with prohibiting killers from running the same perks per game.

    @UndeddJester said:

I always held the opinion this would make SWF more interesting, where you have to decide between you which perks you're gonna take each.

Some people for some reason see it as a "punishment", whereas I just see it as a rule that makes the game more interesting...

The argument that always made me laugh is "well what if someone insists on keeping/gating all teh best perks for themselves?". Erm... doesn't sound like much of a friend in your Survive With Friends group? You're an adult? You can leave... 😐

    But hey ho...

Definitely something BHVR could potentially do to drastically adjust the whole metagame as we know it. And sure, players who aren't confident in their own raw knowledge and abilities will scurry to the "best" perks for themselves to save face from folding in a game, but they wont learn anything other than what's meta, therefore hurting their own growth as a player running on training wheels. The same applies for killers who only run the same dry perks every game because of the shaky knees if they remove them, granted, some perks ARE necessary to keep up, but that is an issue that could be easily remedied by BHVR if they locked in on doing this.

    @Moodyy said:

Nerfing SWF shouldnt be a thing because 99% of them are just goofing off and not taking it serious. It would be better to close the gap between swf and solo queue.

If we're all goofing off and not taking it serious then using non-meta perks and prohibiting the ability to stack staple perks/builds wouldn't be an issue. Bridging the gap between solo and swf isn't an easy task and never will be because SWF will ALWAYS be more organized than solo, and to truly catch up or bridge the gap between the two would essentially be SWF getting handicapped/nerfed.

The biggest issue imo to tackle if implementing this meta-reduction idea would be to adjust the powers of killers, reduce the power-creep, reduce the release of curb-stomping killers, and further adjust mechanics to where it complements the change and increasingly balances the gameplay experience, but I'm sure that would be a major issue with the players, goofing off or not.

  • Yeah, the basic interaction with Krasue is a bit of a bland, basic formula dished out like the recent killers before her (typical metagame I suppose), and the increase in her m/s when in head form is just too quick to avoid, leaving the survivor with little to no room for counterplay or interaction, thus reducing her into another "flavor of the month" meta killer.

Make Krasue standard form 4.4m/s: The spit has an auto track, but only works off appropriate surfaces. It's pretty easy to hit in some locations, tricky in others, and the direct shot/ricochet mind games could be cool if Krasue was like a normal ranged killer seeking angles while spitting.

I would be all for an adjustment on her m/s, and also make her Regurgitate more of a linear projectile that isn't so quirky, but direct; something you can understand more than be a head scratcher hit.

Being hit by either Regurgitate or Intestinal Whip passively builds leech at the standard 1.665c/s while not leeched: Body blocking is the main issue Krasue faces, and hitting someone who body blocks doesn't mean anything unless you fully commit. A passive gain would at least mean the Survivor has to take the decision to body block seriously. Being hit by anything starts the passive build up of Leech.

I love passive abilities so much since they can essentially improve a player's general awareness/cognition.

Regurgitate grants 65 charges infection progress: Reduced down from 100 charges, this would mean the Survivor can try to eat a mushroom in chase, and the Krasue can either switch forms to follow up hit with the head form, or spit again with regurgitate, based on personal preference/map to get her power rolling.

Wholeheartedly agree. 100 charges off of a single Reg hit is a bit much. Though I would personally like 50/50 for Reg charges, only because I prefer the symmetry of it.

Regurgitate hits are now not capped at Leeched 1: Hits with Regurgitate can now exceed Leeched 1 and roll over to Leeched 2.

Would definitely promote a more Plague-esque kind of gameplay imo and Plague definitely heavily encourages player discernment during interactions.

Being hooked reduces the Survivors current leech level by 80%: This results in the Survivors leech progress (assumimg between 100 leech and 200 leech when hooked) being reduced to between 20 and 40 leech. With the revised numbers, takes pretty much the same investment to tunnel as now with the removal, but Survivors DO still need to deal with the leech.

Definitely gives Krasue room to prioritize other Survivors who don't have the leech, and not feeling like it's imperative to tunnel off hook. Everyone can be quickly leeched if they're not careful and plan accordingly. Again, another Plague-esque thing to do. lol

This I feel would make the leech a meaningful part of her kit, instead of the kind of weird busy work that it is now. Leeching a Survivor while you go for another is actually meaningful now and trying to get your spit as a 4.4m/s killer generally makes her more interesting, and makes her rapid fire Regurgitates a little more sensible at her base slower speed.

I feel this varies up the Krasue's approach to each Survivor encounter, and actually makes playing around Survivor leech progress meaningful, instead of just Spit repeatedly then switch to head and chase down. She is instead creating more factors to think about for both sides, instead of the single minded 1 track Krasue currently is. She can go for a stronger infection with repeated regurgitate hits, hit 2 Survivors at once and be rewarded for doing so, hit a fast regurgitate and leave as needed, and commit to downs if she pleases I'm head form

Her tunnel threat is about the same as it is now, maybe slightly weaker in fact, as she will typically need more than just a spit to go after a Survivor agian, especially they are holding a shroom. This would allow Survivors to bring mushrooms (or grab one early) and then body block for their teammate to prevent the tunnel, but in turn making themselves an easy target for the 4.4 Krasue spit as an easier/juicier target without a shroom.

It looks a lot healthier and interactive overall to me.

Definitely feel the shadow of Plague looming over these proposed adjustments. It 100% would encourage more interactions with all Survivors in the match and encourage/improve a player's awareness.

  • I've always felt that the way I act online directly reflects how I act irl; I know it's not the same for everyone, but it's second nature to just not be a jerk when playing and have good sportsmanship.

  • I've been playing since late 2017, and this year has seen my least amount of hrs put into DBD. I know for a fact if they were able to bring in the IT Chapter (Been waiting since 2017) that I would be running to log in.

  • oh nah, this needs a nerf like asap. Not dealing with this kind of God pallet.

  • Games are too easy as survivor if my team is average. The killers REALLY has to sweat those wins with the average survivor. In “high MMR” matches, wrap it up; the killers are cooked.

  • People just downvote with no valid reason a lot of the time. It’s not that serious, so I wouldn’t let something like that bother me. Just post your thoughts and opinions and don’t worry so much about random people downvoting you for whatever reason it may be.

BHVR got rid of the playstyle of camping a box to guarantee a kill.

Now the Pig can just crouch behind you and you can't do anything about it. When your trap is active you are ######### no matter what. In my opinion a chase should start like normal, when the Pig is crouching, so there is at least some counter play.

I don't want to get the Pig nerfed, since I also like to playing her, but his is just bullshit design.

Before anyone says: "ThEn DOn'T ComPleTE AnY GeNs" go ahead and tell this randoms in your lobby, when you're not a 4 people SWF.

So lemme get this straight, you're suggesting that Pig has her undetectable status when crouching removed because some pig players like to throw the entirety of their games and crouch to someone the whole or most of the match to prevent box searches? Yeah, that's called a nerf, especially on a m1 killer with already little map presence or pressure to begin with. The best solution is to get her out of crouch mode by searching boxes and forcing the down, making your timer go on standby mode, as stated by a few forum members; buys you more time and wastes the Pig player's time even more than they're already wasting by following you around.

  • Great thread and suggestions, as usual, Undedd. The conspicuous action should be counted when searching a box, as not being counted as such just further reduces the value of RBTs which are a core and iconic tool used throughout the SAW series.

  • Could there be an update on this or is yet another thread about this small issue to be closed or quickly forgotten?

  • You think it's bad with survivors not liking their own lobbies, imagine being able to see who the killer is in lobbies. The lobbies would be deserted to dodge certain killers and the cosmetics worn.

  • Non-mobility killers are given the Mrs. Dash seasoning. It's not fun or creative in the slightest to try to make old outdated killers an ability to dash attack. For Pig, a majority of us loyal Pig players prefer a adjustment to the RBTs (As traps are a central core of the SAW franchise and makes little sense to put focus on Ambush dash). Can we update old killers without tampering their core characteristics or identity?

  • Posting this here for anyone wanting to try any of my 7 current builds or adjust it to their liking.

    Preset 1: Standard Pig

    IMG_9023.png
    • Friends 'til the End
    • Surge
    • Dissolution
    • Grim Embrace

    Add-ons: Tempered Timer + Rules Set No.2

You’re just a jack of all trades: Chase, Regression, Block, Aura. Add-ons builds pressure when a party hat is active.

Preset 2: No One Is Safe from Pig

    IMG_9024PNG.png
    • Remember Me
    • No Way Out
    • None Are Free
    • No One Escapes Death

    Add-ons: Amanda's Letter + John's Medical File

Basically no one is safe in end game. Pretty diabolical build and feels more Amanda (lore-wise as no one escapes her inescapable games). Doors blocked, Vaults and Pallets are blocked from using, Exposed, and much slower time opening the gate by 150% should someone make it past NWO's timer. This build forces you to spread out chases and hooks to gain the most value from the perks so it's a lot more fair and rewarding in terms of game play.

For add-ons, I’m trying to secure hooks in preparation for the End Game rather than utilizing Traps, so losing 2 is a fair trade for me.

    Preset 3: Screaming Pig

    IMG_9025.png
    • Ultimate Weapon
    • Infectious Fright
    • Thwack
    • Hex: Face the Darkness

    Add-ons: Video Tape + Rules Set No.2

Causing screams as much as possible while head traps are on to add pressure and focuses more on keeping the RBT relevant throughout the match. I’d often switch the add-ons from Tape + RS2 to both gears (crate + bag).

    Preset 4: Aura Pig

    IMG_9026png.png
    • Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage
    • Nowhere to Hide
    • Lethal Pursuer
    • BBQ

    Add-ons: John's Medical File + Amanda's Secret

This build is hilarious and often guarantees a yoink off gen or an early down thanks to Lethal, plus Lethal adds 2 secs of aura to all perks. Aura info for Stealth Killers is pretty valuable to have.

The add-ons JMF + AS are for jump scare or quick hit and Secret is for when they take a RBT off I see that aura.

    Preset 5: Confusion Pig

    IMG_9027png.png
    • Furtive Chase
    • Unforseen
    • Dark Devotion
    • Machine Learning

Add-ons: Face Mask + Utility Blades

I thought of this devious one when Ghostface came out just to cause confusion lore-wise (who’s the killer?).

Devotion switches a base TR to the injured obsession for close to a minute allowing you to cause as much confusion and chaos as possible while picking survivors off one by one, Furtive gives 10% Haste for 18 secs and Undetectable when obsession is hooked; obsession changes to the survivor that unhooks. Unforseen transfers TR 32 to kicked generator for 30 secs. Learning gives 8% haste and Undetectable when the kicked generator is completed. It’s a lot of guessing who’s the killer (Ghostface reference as anyone could be wearing the mask).

Mask and blades disable aura reading perks for survivors so they gain little info on one another or the killer and blades increases wounded trail so it’s easier to pick them off. This is essentially what I thought of for Ghostie and threw it on Pig also because why not?

Presets 6+7 are basic gen regression and blocking builds. I would add a chase build one like WG+LW and Blood Favor+Dissolution+Fury+STBFL, but I usually do that with my first build when I want to go in a game to focus primarily on chases.

These are the builds I occasionally swap around in matches, so if you find one that interests you, feel free to try it out and modify it.

  • Why is this being overlooked and threads concerning something so small being replied to with basically “nah, stop asking about this” and closed? The Walking Dead livestream disaster showed a lot about how things are handled with this business and how the community is actually looked upon by BHVR ( crazy stream, anyways…hey, don’t forget to buy TWD cosmetics!). No actual response with substance is gained unless a large portion of the community speaks out about it.

No transparency; just questions brushed under the mat and forgotten. Yes, I feel some type of way about this, because this is a business and if a character, map, or perk isn’t making BHVR money it gets discard and we’re given crumbs here and there to appease the players who speak out about it (Here’s a mill bp guys; now let’s move on).

A concern so little as a RBT in the lobby for Pig, get’s shut down with no transparent explanation. Just basically, a character that isn’t played by 90% of the player base gets ignored. This is utterly ridiculous, bruh.

  • It’s cold in here. I feel like this Ultimate guide was just left on read. 🐷 Gotta get this out there for the piguninon.

  • Update: Still missing as of 10/30/2025

  • Me being injured running from the killer to the gate only to see it hasn't even been worked on or at 90% with the healthy rando just waiting there

    omori-little-dark-age.png

Please open that dam gate, please.

  • My experience after pallet density update.

    Low MMR - Killer wins
    High MMR - Survivors wins

  • The best part about her kit is that it's flexible, so there's a multitude of options to consider like more available RBTs, timer adjustment, ability adjustment, etc but there's a fine line not crossed with her as to not make her an absolute beast, but the options are available.

  • So it is actually the challenge then. I had to double take reading that, yeah, I'll do it when I do it. My best bet is to just be friendly and hope they understand my challenge so I can just hook everyone twice in the void realm. lol That's a challenge I don't see myself completing normally. I'm not seeing anyone go in the portal.

  • I play Pig. I'm cooked. I played 2 games and turned it off.😓

  • Ghostface

Stealth Killers are fun because of jumpscares.

What is going on lately with their past and current updates? Where is the promised quality of life? You promised to do that this year but there is not a single QoL from my recollection.

The rift pass is absolutely awful too. Look how they massacred the Dredge ghost skin. The free pass barely has anything other than bloodpoints and maybe 3 skins. And why is it taking so long now to unlock all the rift items anyway? I couldn't finish the last rift pass on time which was never a problem with the other rift passes in the past so what gives? Are you trying to artificially inflate the player numbers by retaining them with FOMO stuff through reducing the amount of rift xp we get? Pretty silly if you ask me.

Why did they gut Michael Myers with this piss poor rework they made for him?

So many questions and no answers.

I'm not even going to do the new rift because I have deleted this game and now I'm wasting my time sharing my frustation knowing it won't be read by the devs anyway.

This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. More and more loyal players are actually stepping away from the game as time goes by with every update.

  • FPV as a Survivor would be crazy. Lights Out FPV mode would be insane.

So I’ve been trying to find a new main since Skull merchant got gutted in October of last year but Dbd has kinda been making that hard for me since because I swear it genuinely feels like the game just doesn’t want me to play killer because

    1. Skull merchant got gutted last year and is getting reworked into dashslop.
    2. I was extremely hyped for Springtrap until I was just drop kicked by disappointment
    3. Sadako was changed so many times to the point where I don’t know what she dose anymore
    4. Trapper gets nothing every update
    5. Myers and Pig were turned into Dashslop
    6. Houndmaster is a bug fest

Like seriously who do I main at this point? Like I'm genuinely curious.

(I was going to post this tomorrow, but I accidentally hit the button while editing this.)

I can agree with this, but Pig is an OG dasher. She wasn’t turned into one.

I'm used to the normal mix of good and bad matches, but recently my solo queue teammates have been toxic. If I try to rat for hatch I get sold out every game without exception, and I hit second on first hook quite a lot. In the past my teammates would at least acknowledge that I'm on the same team as them, is this some kind of retaliation for the anti-tunnel changes not coming through?

There's a reason why Solo Queue is infamous, but rat for the hatch is also included in the list of those reasons. It's not a good strategy and it feels bad (to me personally).

I really wouldn't hold your breath about any custom music either, even if the SAW license holders are willing to work at length with BHVR (she got a tome after all), I think the film's soundtrack is owned by someone else.

Ahh, that's unfortunate then, I wonder why they removed something like that? As for the soundrack license holder, I'm not sure at all; there's various labels that have a hand in the SAW soundrack apparently. But the film rights went from Twisted Roots to Blumhouse owning the rights to future productions 50% alongside Lionsgate, so hopefully an agreement can be made in the near future with between the record labels, the franchise owners, and BHVRy, though it all looks to be a very complex and tiring process.

Hey JP, you just crouching by ominously looking for a boop? Here's one for ya.👉️🐽

  • I have to agree with @badgerman97, you won't improve at any game if you don't try. I had fun games last night vs Krasue, she wasn't as bad as some people say who were up in arms about her. They were probably all just trying her out, but didn't have any issues with her. Hug walls, double back, look behind you when running, etc. But this is just my experience playing vs her; practice makes better results in a match and writing every killer off as "OP" when they're released just churns out the same dry and repeated cycle of: New Chapter→OP Killer Tier S reeee→Nerfed to the gulag→Rinse and Repeat.

  • Myers feels pretty clunky. That tier up animation and charge time hurts to see.

Agreed. There's this urgent need to push out as much new content as possible from these companies nowadays in fear of losing its customers/players/followers/etc. When in reality, there needs to be a balance of quality and quantity to keep the consumer base around longer.
