If Tokyo Ghoul got in, we might aswell add Sailor Moon

Honestly, they ran out of original concepts years ago. I mean, there really is a killer for everything.
You wanna run around like a crack addict? Blight.
You wanna be invisible? Spirit.
Your brain goes BRRRR? Billy.
You want to tag team survivors? Knight.
You want to play a FPS? Huntress.
You want to feel like a mastermind pulling the strings behind the scenes? Hag.
You want to play the game without actually playing the game? Nurse.
You don't like survivors? Legion.
You don't like yourself? Skull Merchant.
There are only so many things a killer can do that don't require changing the entire game to accomodate for it. Of course those things will repeat and generally people like to play mechanically demanding and very mobile killers, so it's not too surprising that multiple killers do something that.
I can think of 4 types we haven't had yet.
1. Survivor minic - Killler can transform into a survivor and even work on generators. This would confuse the heck out of solo players but hard countered by comms.
2. Prop Hunt - Killer can transform into a map prop, akin to prop hunt on COD. Can take position inside buildings near gens before surprise attacking.
3. Aerial reconnaissance - Effectively Twins / Houndmaster but an aerial style. Could work like eagle vision in Assassin's Creed. Fly, tag, switch back to ground based killer. Would need to be immune from indoor map selection.
4. Aerial bombardment - Battleship/motar strike style killer who strategically picks locations to attack via the map.
Imo, the PS3 esc game engine is holding the game back from having more advanced/fluent powers.
-
Vampire form - Hell fire is awful and barely worth the hassle. If you like that kind of attack, just play Pyramid Head.
Bat form - Being able to fly to gens and kick them is nice, don't see the need to use it too often though as you can't attack in bat form. If you like not being able to see the survivors and have to watch the grass move and predict where survivors are, just play spirit.
Wolf mode - Easily his best form. The wolf is pretty effective with his pounces andwe'll hidden as he's low to the ground and dark. Quite fun to use and could probably be a standalone killer form.
Played 6/7 games against bots so far, first couple were rough but getting the hang of it. Without trying, I do know that it'll be hard work keeping tabs on real players. Would assume he's in B tier.
-
I've played about 8 games against bots who mostly crouch under them, but as the OP said, at vaults and pallets, its an easy hit. Firing them across the map is hapless. Would be better if you could have aimed them vertically to get those in elevated positions or those that crouch.

Vecnas cloak of invisibility in particular encourages this as Vecna gains Undetectable while he is on cooldown
Yeah was just looking through his addons and thought that spamming them would make for a nice 10 seconds of undetectable. Could add the ring of spell to take 4 secs off the recovery time
-
They work at the shack and at vaults. You can fire them at hooks too which is cheeky. They do feel useless a lot of the time but they can work from time to time. Would be better if you could add vertical aim, so you can fire up to elevated areas or towards the ground to get those that are crouching or healing.
-
On controller he's an absolute handful and will require a lot of practice for fluency and muscle memory. Having to open the spell book, pick spell, load it and then fire it is lots to do, especially when you factor in moving around the map and avoiding obstacles + clutter, hugging walls etc.
Mage hand is fine when running straight at a pallet, but very awkward when running at angles or wall hugging, by the time I loaded, aimed it and used it, the pallet would be locked but id lost distance and survivor could loop around again and you can't use it for another 30+ secs.
Flight of dammed is useless, bots just crouch or squeeze between the gaps. The sphere can be aimed up and down, so why cant the skeletons be aimed down slightly, or even vertically
Fly is standard, good for mobility but you might aswell just play nurse if you want to fly about
Sphere has to be the weakest lamest power in the game. By the time it gets to where you want it to go, you could have already walked there and looked to see if anyone was there, needs to move so much quicker.
So yeah, tricky start but putting that down to beginner practice. He's certainly fun to play and his animations and aesthetics are all good, just a handful to play. I never played Singularity but I imagine he feels similar in regards to having a lot of work to do.
-
You might aswell fire off the skull and sphere when you get them as its a 38 sec wait until you can use them again. Fly and Hand are more tactical/opportunity spells.

I have it as well. I believe you get it from purchasing auric cells, right?
Yeah brought 500 and got it.

Not touching it. This update has been miserable so far, and these characters look utterly ridiculous. It's a circus.
I thought the Unknown looked ridiculous. Each to there own I suppose.
-
Yeah looking forward to playing him. Think his buffs will make him a glorified B tier killer but he should be stronger than my main Knight, so will be nice to play something else. Aesthetically looks way better than the bumchested washermachine man we got last time.
Knight really needs to have a power wheel for his guards, blatant little tlc for him there.
-
SO what will he do? Just m1 without a power as he doesn't have anything. Just Trapper without the bear traps.
-
Yeah this needs doing. Simple QOL improvement for a killer that needs work.
-
Attack from above - Basically like a mortar strike/battleship play in which a killer can pick small areas to attack from anywhere, damaging/downing any survivors that are there.
Aerial reconnaissance - Basically like eagle vision on assassins creed. Killer can fly above the map and tag points of interest including survivors. If survivors are indoors such as the shack or out building, they cannot be tagged or located. This killer would be disabled on indoor maps. Would kinda be like twins but with a bird instead of Victor.
Reverse Ghostface - Medusa would work here, survivors cannot look at the killer, doing so turns them to stone periodically or even mori'd.
-
First 5 killers is a let down, although with it being a new game mode, atleast they'll have chance to balance things and iron out any issues.
-
Depends on what killer you're facing and what there playstyle is. Healing under a hook against a mobility killer is very risky bordeline crackers.
I always run away from the hook to a safe place (walk if I can hear TR) and heal away from the hook, atleast make a returning killer waste a bit of extra time checking the hook and its immediate environment before being possibly found.
-
Was thinking about this earlier, seems completely flat and there are a few reasons. DnD isn't at all popular with the DBD community. I've literally never seen it asked for or wanted in comment sections on any forums. Licences that everyone seem to want are the likes of ST, Reseident Evil, Silent Hill, Last of us etc etc, DnD wouldn't be in the top 50 most wanted colabs imo, so the lack of hype is with this being a left field addition. A lot of people wanted stranger things Vecna who imo looks like the Temu equivalent of Freddy. So there is a feel of resentment that a trendy show is having a character overlooked by something less popular.
I don't know much about Vecna, but given he's some kind of Sage/Godlike wizard, he does tick a few unique boxes, although I do liken him a lot to someone like Pinhead.
Hopefully this chapter has a very fun/unique/groundbreaking mechanic which propells this chapter forward, if not, it might not be a very well received one.

Looking forward to it. I'd love The Beholder to be a part of the power, but I'm guessing it may not be.
Either way, I'm really excited, especially as DBD is branching out further into different styles of games, media and style.
I'm even starting to think - in the upcoming years - The Magnus Archives may even be a thing in DBD!
Perhaps the giant Oni thing was a test to see how a seriously big character could play? That thing might pop upnas the killers power.
-
Another blue tinted realm ...... I didn't actually mind Borgo as the red tint made it unique atleast, now it'll look and feel like all the other blue/green realms.
-
Could have a killer (Medusa) in which you can't look at her, a bit like a reverse ghostface.
-
Will go boring and say its Frank Stone, who looks like he's Trappers cousin or something.
-
This sounds a lot like me and it's probably not what you think.
I find the killer role challenging, I have to try pretty hard as a console Oni and Knight to win, both have there issues with Oni being a bit iffy on console and Knight being abuseable if survivors know how to counter him. Because I try hard and want to do well and win, I feel happy once I've gotten the 3rd kill and very often, I let them go as I did my job of playing well and winning which are bywords for FUN.
No I don't let them live because its a powerplay or out of sympathy, I do it because I was having a tough match and was expecting to lose, so when I don't get whipped or lose, I'm happy to let the last person live.
I do genuinely find playing killer challenging, survivors always seem to know what they're doing, they rarely mess up and even if they appear to be solos or two's, they always seem to coordinate there efforts every time I play. This is a stark contrast to when I play solo survivor.
-
PS5 UK, rubberbanding is pretty bad.
-
Just played my first game in weeks and the lag was awful, borderline unplayable. Trapper was like the nurse, teleporting about.
-
1 Twins
2. Singularity
3. Skull Merchant
4. Onryo
5. Knight
Hag, Spirit, Trapper could all easily be 5th.

There was a time I was Spirit and had a Meg standing on hatch waiting for me. The Meg was foolish enough to try to mindgame my phasing and I slammed the hatch on her. She disconnected.
Happened to me also a few years ago, was still quite new. Wasn't trying to be annoying, was just doing it for thrills. Didn't DC, just took it on the chin and not ducked with a Spirit again π
-
Brought Alien but got bored of playing him. Meh year for me personally. Community wise, the game is on an upwards trajectory as most people loved year 8 it seems.
-
- Recently started playing Path of titans and its gotten me away from dbd. It has opened my eyes as to how far behind the game engineis in regards to map graphics, atmospheric features such as rain and actual thick fog (like in battlefield 1)
So hoping for a big fog rework and some night variants for the cold wind realm which has been somewhat spoiled by the sheer brightness of it. Would be cool if the map started light and git darker as the game goes on or vice versa (Dark to light)
Would love a Jurrasic Park chapter tbh
Haven't enjoyed a killer since Knight, so something intimidating and badass for me to main would be brilliant
Would like to see Backwater swamp get the final update, just hoping it keeps it dark eery atmosphere.
-
I get 3 near misses in about 80 games tbh. Won't even attempt this challenge. It should be 3 total at the very least.
-
I once saw a survivor teabagging on the roof of Thompson house, so I fired a guard just inside the house below the roof edge and brilliantly, it detected the survivor and flew up there. Caught the survivor by guard who tried to flee but got hit right as they jumped off, even worse for them, I was stood underneath waiting for them to drop ππ‘
Karma for a teabagger
I do find that vertical plays are very inconsistent and usually don't work.

You crouch at the exit gate 3 times within 5 seconds the exit gate gets blocked for you and you are exposed
Recently started playing path of titans and they have a debuff feature which seriously hinders the speed and attack of players that camp the home cave
(safe zone)
So survivors that spend too long in the exit area could indeed get hindered heavily movement wise. Could do the same for killers that camp hooks.
-
@Pulsar said:
Two with 7-8 hooks.
A close, but ultimately fair and evenly matched game where both sides had push and pull.
Majority of my killer games are like that, with the match swinging like a pendulum. More often than not though, the balance tips in the survivors favour and it plays out 1k > 3k
-
Nothing π
I play to win, which doesn't always happen but I'm not in there for a little chin wag. Id probably consider letting a survivor off if they kneel as I approached as Knight, but given his popularity that's happened a grand total of 0 times. I did read a post a long while back that an Oni player (on Yamaoka) caught the survivors all kneeling/crouching in front of the Oni mask inside the house. He let them all live π
-
@E5150 said:
What is he supposed to do at this point? This is completely valid.
Uhh walk away, let them get saved and then get screwed over by BT and bodyblocking when trying to get them again ......
-
Singularity
Dredge
Trapper
-
Trapper could use an addon which adds grass or colour to his traps to make them a bit camouflaged. He should also ne able to carry all his traps or be able to get them from lockers.
Knight needs Map OR as basekit so that we can pick an alternative addon. Guards need to be a little sharper (react quicker when they detect a survivor) his power is clunky in various ways thus needs refining.
Freddie is non existent so something needs to be done. Haven't faced one for over a year when they used to be very common to face.
Deathslinger should be able to carry nail grenades π
-
If its original I hope they go top shelf ala Warewolf, Pirate, Vampire etc.
-
Flashbangs are easy to avoid. The animation is quite obvious, just 180 turn as you see them throw it down. Mine miss often Expect Leon to use them. Best way to use them is to drop them just as they go to break a pallet, so they get blinded as they walk through it, meanwhile, you've hooked it πββοΈ
-
Oni all day
Just kidding, Skull Merchant
-
Yeah, both Alien and Chucky numbers have fallen off a cliff. Back to Huntress's again.
-
A lot of newbies pick Wraith hence why they sometimes get a bit stroppy when they finally catch you after being looped for 5 minutes of the game. I haven't faced one for a while mind, its usually Clowns and Legions that are obnoxious.
-
I have no experience of the perk for or against, but surely a switched on killer will cotton on that you're working your magic in the basement when he keeps seeing gens progressed but nobody on or near them?

I'm sure there's plenty of examples even on this forum that make you totally incorrect. I main Trapper and get 3-4k's plenty. I enjoy SWFS because I know they'll be keeping me on my toes most likely. Come at me.
I hardly ever get tunnelled so I'm doing something right π
-
I'm not a Sable fan at all, but anyone with eyes and sense will recognise that she's the money maker addition for this year. She was always going to be massively popular as was mikaeler.
-
Circumstances differ. I ll get out if I;
* Have been tunnelled or killer seems to be trying to get rid of me but wasn't able to get me, I'm taking the W
* I'm the Rancor obsession
* If NOED is up and I'm on the other side of the map. I hate rewarding the killer who got outplayed with free NOED kills.
If I didn't play particularly well but the hooked player did, I ll go and save them knowing full well i ll get killed, doesn't bother me if I felt my escape eas undeserved. If there is another active player alive and the killer is approaching and I have the gate open, i ll atleast make him hit me out to atleast waste some of his time.
-
The last one if I have 3K and they played well (Avoided me included)
-
Any survivors that whinge about tunneling, go and play killer yourself and try and get 10+ hooks π
As for being tunneled, preventing it and resisting it. What are you doing about it? Run anti tunneling perks such as OTR, ones that hide scartch marks, wear darker cosmetics to try and hide instead of bright neon clothing, break LOS, become a better looper or just plain and simply, stay away from the area the killer is playing in to avoid being caught again.
-
I love the new map. Really cool aesthetic.

@Crazewtboy said:
I've seen a few people say you can place his teleport, but the power description said it happened passively, and since there is no button prompt I assumed it was random. How are people placing hallucinations where they want?
And I agree. He can feel strong in some aspects, and really weak in others. Good survivors aren't gonna give you a lot of opportunity to use UVX, so every shot you take has to be right on the money. I agree the bouncing of the projectile can feel really weird, and I'd have preferred if it just exploded on impact with walls as well. Once survivors learn how to play against him he'll probably end up shoved around high C tier if I had to guess
Played against one tonight who was placing them at gens and next to pallets. He knew what he was doing as he was shooting ahead of us and was pretty accurate doing so.

So sick of playing against the Knight, definitely needs a huge nerf, I'd go so far as to say a rework of their power/ability. Why bother playing a killer than can dominate the entire map while taking it easy?
Play Knight yourself of think he's that good π He ain't.
