They did it to prevent it from being another instaheal. That and spinechill makes it like an instaheal. Now, imagine 4 survivors with it. All perks must be made with the fact that survivors can run 4 of them, also unnerving increases chances and that is common so giving peeps instaheals.

well at least make a increase the chance of skillcheck

Once again, increased chances makes it an instaheal if kept at 80%. With increased chance from spine chill or unnerving, it occurs close 20% often, the 80% makes it quick. 3 second heals.
  • 4 survivors with infinite 3 second heals?
  • 4 survivors with infinite 3 second heals?
    3-5 seconds I mean.

Is lower then 80%, I think they reduced it to 50%, and instead of starting off with a 20% penalty, you get a 25% penalty?

I think it’s well balanced though, and feel it was gonna be a meta perk with Botany, Spine Chill and We’ll Make It.

You’d be the perfect run in there, heal them, and get out before the killer even shows up type character. I man Empathy, Borrowed Time and Deliverance could all be paired with this for being an “emergency medic” class.

It's 50 now, was 80 in ptb. Ther perk alone could be run to be stupidly quick, their cube which was proposed is to make healing longer, survivors have only two objectives, by making forced objectives like healing take too little time killers dont benefit. Autodidact is more consistent in some ways than we will make it, it destroys end game slugs. Autodidact dying to healthy is under ten seconds. Gotta think about it in terms of that when it was 80%. Wayy to quick at 80%. Auto at 80% is strong cause you didnt need a build around it, like selfcare. It would've been splashable.
  • Was it better on pub, yes we can all agree. But this involves more than one perk. We have to keep in mind that this is not the only perk/item that effect the healing rate. While not optimal by the ptb comparison,  it has to balance with a 4 man team and all combinations of perks. For all we know they found some major issue and this was the best solution.
  • I really don't understand why they had to make another healing perk. As many people mentioned here If you give us a nearly insta heal it would be too strong but if it's notthing like that it just a weak heal on others which we have anyway withouth any perks. I mean unless they had some super original idea about a healing perk they shouldn't even try to make one. The idea here was rng, takes time and luck but in the end is super strong which they realised it would be too strong and the perk just became nothing special - it is just better to take another healing perk IF you need one at all/ cause I never felt the need of perk to heal others - maybe its just me ..../. So in the end what worries me it that they went with that idea and they got nothing out of it - it is really sad

  • The problem with it right now is it's a net negative unless you get 5 healing checks, which means it'll usually be a detriment to your team.

    1st check: -25% (-25% of a bar healed overall)
    2nd check: -10% (-35% of a bar healed overall)
    3rd check: +5% (-30% of a bar healed overall)
    4th check: +20% (-10% of a bar healed overall)
    5th check: +35% (+25% of a bar healed overall)

This makes the level 1 version of the perk really bad, as it takes 8 healing skill checks total for it to not be a net negative. It should probably either be re-worked completely or the starting penalty shouldn't be as severe.

Level 1s are supposed to be bad, only compare tier 3s
  • Seeing as you've gotta rely on RNG to build it up to a decent amount of power, across multiple heals, it should have stayed as it was during the PTB.

No perk should be so bad that it'd be better to leave the perk slot empty. Like, this isn't even an opportunity cost thing - it's just straight up detrimental. Also the values I used were for tier 3.
  • Buffing heals is the complete opposite of what this game needs.
Killer are already in a bad spot with survivor being healed to fast anyway.

  • The current act of healing doesn't feel like it warrants this many perks. If being injured had multiple components I could understand the need to address each one with a perk, but as it is we only get varying speeds of the same effect.
  • Well wait a second, Autodidact relies on skill checks to be good. . .
. . . Maybe Spinechill's 10% increased skillcheck chance might help for a crisis healer build?

except often u wont even get a skillcheck when u heal someone, even with spine chill, and you usually dont get 5 tokens until the end of the game

They are slowing the healing speed

finally someone sees the Q&A some ppl complain about this perk needs a buff someone ppl dont agree but the 70% of ppl will agree that this perk needs a buff

Still iffy RNG. And in that case it has an even higher risk of triggering near the killer before you have stacks
