Wait, where is it revealed that Lisa Sherwood/The Hag is African? Her bio on the PS4 refers to a village and some elders, but that’s it from what I see.
Edit:
looking at her offerings, not that it matters much since a lot of them are random. But one offering is a Swamp Orchid Necklace, and orchids are more common in Central and South America, and “mud turtles” originate from America and have orange eggs. She has a Cracked Turtle Shell offering that is described as being orange.
I think she’s Central or South American

The launch trailer only shows three characters. A guy with a baseball cap who looks like a significantly less nerdy Dwight. A girl who looks like a hybrid of both Claudette and Meg, and a nerdy librarian girl hanging from a hook. I haven’t seen any confirmation that those characters had the same names and backstory as any of the four that were released with the game.
These character designs were the original rough drafts of the three. They probably switched races for the girls, and then decided to make Dwight nerdy to make him more relatable.
That being said, I’d honestly love it if they added the three of them in with different abilities and names/backgrounds. Their designs are unique enough that they could certainly stand out, and possibly even be able to represent some of the quoted characters off of perks and items. One could even be Vigo, though I’d prefer if they gave Vigo a different design then any of those three.

Killers should not lose add-ons either when all survivors DC. Fair is fair. It'd be fair for neither side to lose items/addons/offerings if someone dc's like that. In the case of swf it should be if it's game crash related and not an intentional dc. The same should be true for either side dcing just because they don't like the map/offerings.
This 100%

I don’t see why you should have to pic, between the two alone. But if you’re genuinely limiting yourself to the two options, I think not playing toxic is the obvious answer figuring it’s....toxic. Play stealthy, and don’t be a jerk to other players
-
Definitely not. The Nurse needs to stay how she is, at least from my experience playing her and against her

@Master how is that positive? It’s a difference of a second or two.@xmenfanatic it was purposeful. Attempt to escape ASAP till struggle then immediate death from a purple perk person.
Do I really have to explain why not-DCing is a good thing in a multiplayer game?
Yikes, seems like we truely have come this far nowIts about time that the devs punish DCing
Absolutely dude! I think a DC should definitely get a penalty. If there was a way to record and keep track of being downed or on a hook paired with DCing, that would be even better.
-
Me! I love playing character classes in general so as long as I keep the perks mostly unique per each character I’ll play any of them
-
Omg, if they had crosshairs they would be devastating awesome to play. Haha. I’d hate going against them a little more, but it would be nice to have that feature.
-
Maybe they both stopped tapping for a second on accident? I’m sorry that people did that, that’s boogers.
-
She seems like a bunch of fun to play, and I’m pretty excited to get to play as both characters

I guess he would become a killer?Since according to the lore survivor that lost all hope of escape are repurposed by the entity as killer.
Where is this come from?
I can’t say where atm, but I’ve read something similar. I don’t think that’s specifically the case though. The entity pushes people to kill instead of survive, but now I am wondering What happens to a survivor who loses all hope, but has no drive to kill either....
-

You'll just bring back the Iron Grasp meta and everybody will complain about Iron Grasp.Honestly, I feel like most killers I go against use it all the time already. Maybe just my dumb luck, and not as common as it appears.
Also yes, I meant 20 meters, not 200

I do see how if they boosted it, the perk would become more popular. But I also think that decisive strike, self care, and sprint burst should be weakened considerably, and a few other perks should get boosts. It’ll add more variety to survivor builds for sure.
Edit: and honestly I don’t think there is an issue with making survivor perks that directly combat a specific killer perk. So long as when both are equipped, the killer still gets a bonus to his abilities, while cancelling out special abilities for the survivor
-
I do wish it had a slightly stronger effect. Maybe make aura range be 10/15/200 meters, and increase speed of struggle by 2/4/6%. with that change, the Iron Grasp perk will have its struggle effects halved at each tier but still provide a bonus to the killer.
-
I think he is saying that the speed she is supposed to be moving is glitchy and she move slower than she should. Also apparently the Husk form she leaves behind when he uses her power is apparently not spawning/staying when "phasing".
I can't make out what Mike means about the scratches and blood. It seems like he's saying that she shouldn't see scratches with her power, and they are confused why perks increasing the visualization of blood aren't working with her phase ability.
He doesn't understand why she has some of her perks....but he doesn't explain which ones. That's my quick assessment after two glasses of wine, haha
-
Maybe another one could be being burned at the stake too. I think any of these can be formulaicly tweaked to be just like the hook, but a different animation for sacrifice that fits a horror flick
-
Of the non licensed? Dwight Fairfield.
Dwight leaderlike
Meg and Claudette, are more supportive
Jake, Nea, and Fin are more solitary and roguish.
Ace is bard-like and roguish so he seems supportive and solitary in pieces.
David is too rash and seems like he’s the bull of the group.
Kate seems final girl-like to me, but not a leader.Laurie has leadership qualities, and could be a second in command.
Bill has the war tactics and experience, and would definitely take a naturally dominant role in the camp.
Detective Tapp would also has leadership qualities.
Quinten seems similiar to Kate in terms of teamwork and support. Not a leader either though. -
Maybe there is a survivor out there who we haven't been introduced to that is one of the soldiers. They say time works strangely, and the dimension is weird. Maybe he's adventuring with other survivors at another campfire, you know?

Sorry, It was too hard to only list one and I got excited. haha.

“Maybe it is the will to survive that makes me even more alert to sounds. Sight is limited in this darkened part of the world. In this case their Heartbeats. Not my own, but instead the Killers’ as they close in on me. I just hope that they do not pick up on mine as my heart races for every thump I can hear even clearer. "
~ Benedict Baker's Journal, Nov. 1896"Again, my senses have proven to be the keys to my survival. If my heartbeat rings in my ears, the Killer is close. If I see the "red stain" in my surroundings, the Killer is even closer!"
I found these two quotes on the Dead By Daylight wiki, and they are contradictory statements about the Lore.
This is the description about the heartbeat:
"The Heartbeat, as the name states, is a heartbeat sound effect heard by Survivors within the so-called Terror Radius of a Killer. The Terror Radius is set at a default range of 32 metres, that can change from Killer to Killer.
The Heartbeat is intended to induce fear and anxiety into the Survivors, but also acts as a warning sound effect for an approaching Killer.
According to Benedict Baker's Journal, the Heartbeat heard by the Survivors is not their own, but the Killer's. However, this is contradicted by a Mysterious Note found in The Fog, which states that it is indeed the Survivors' own heartbeat that they hear."
It doesn't cite where the two quotes were found exactly. Be they both from the website, or the game itself.
-
Honestly, when I play as a survivor, I never use self care. I try and use the three main perks and then supplement the fourth with their personality. I mix and match a bit, but anyway, I only use self care on Claudette and find fun in playing characters without that ability. I would totally be okay with the nerf, or a tag making it attached to her, or faster on her, the current speed, and slower on everyone else.
People shouldn’t b reliant on that ability. It takes away a lot of exciting saves and wins.
-
first of all, there is no need to be rude. Second, I may be mistaken but I thought it had a similar overtone. If you look at a band, the best example from me atm would be to say that the lead guitarist does the theme, and the rythm guitarist would be doing Kate’s part. I may be seeking it out on my own accord because I like the idea, especially since no one had called me out about the correlation previously.

I think it can be chalked up to the Survivors having heightened senses in the Realm. The heartbeat for instance, is not the Survivor heartbeat but rather the Killer's heartbeat that the Survivors have fine turned their hearing for. Benedict Baker explains this in his journal.
By extension, you could assume the Survivors are capable of know their entire surroundings due to increased survival instincts.
But why does the killers heartbeat need to sound like he is about to get caught doing something he shouldn't? It sounds like the heartbeat is the survivors hearing their own heart instead of the killers.
Couldnt answer that for ya buddy. I would chalk that up to gameplay mechanic, but I suppose maybe the survivor is just "hearing more beats." I'm just telling you what the canon says haha
If you watch some of the earlier videos on the DbD YouTube channel, they e plicitly state that the heartbeat is the survivors. I’m guessing that since the survivors have all these aura reading abilities that the entity has granted them some level of psychic ability that they all share with each other and the killers at different levels.
The heartbeat rising could be them just KNOWING the killer is getting closer and that thought is causing their heart to beat really fast
The Terror Radius emanates from the Killers.
That’s exactly what I was thinking, and I wasn’t sure if it was done because mechanically it was easier, or if it was a misspeak in the lore, I’ll have to sift through the videos and QandA to be certain because I believe I saw it in one of those!
-
Before adding this survivor there were an equal amount of playable men and women. Do you want it to be unbalanced with more women? Don’t get me wrong, I was hoping for a female survivor too, but this survivor is a babe, and his abilities are neato! And he’s a teacher, how do you know he didn’t work at the university the killer went to?
-
I dig it as a survivor, but not so much as a killer.
-
I think the idea behind this Mori is awesome, but it would take too long probably with the prompts. Unless it has a fixed time, and if you don’t select a prompt it defaults to a specific decision.
Or each option could just have a specific button assigned to it when you are capable of using a Mori? I don’t think this will happen, but it would be neato.

You’re literally incorrect. It is the only power designed to kill.
You're literally incorrect. The devs have said time and time again that the RBTs are not designed as a killing tool. Vietfox is correct in that they're designed to slow down the game.
.....it is the only power that was designed with the ability to kill. That is not an incorrect statement. It was designed with the ability to kill. The only one designed that way.
You didn't say "designed with the ability to kill", you just said "designed to kill". The two statements are not equivalent, and only one is correct. Own up to your mistake, it won't kill you.
If you know how to use it, it will kill your opponent. It is designed to kill if you know how. I don’t know how to communicate this to you without just rephrasing the same sentence. I was so I could help you understand.
Im sorry. I wish I could help you understand. I actually am starting to think our communication styles aren’t very compatible, so I’ll leave it at the statement that I don’t agree with you, and I don’t need to make you understand my view of the ability because in the end it doesn’t really matter as long as we are both enjoying the game. I’m sorry you’re displeased with her powers.
And I'm sorry you can't accept that the developers literally designed RBTs not to kill Survivors. I'm also sorry you're being passive-aggressive about this and that you can't admit you made a simple mistake.
I wasn’t being passive aggressive, I just didn’t proof read and realize how many times I apologized. Take them as sincere or don’t. And I don’t admit I made a mistake because I dont believe I did. I believe you view it as a mistake, but I also believe you just don’t understand
I take them as insincere because you're not apologizing for anything you did wrong (like not explaining yourself properly). You're "apologizing" for me not being able to understand you. This is the standard insincere non-apology.
I’m sorry that I don’t have the communication skills to effectly have a constructive conversation with you. And I’m also sorry if I came off combative initially. When I stop to summarize what it is that’s bothering me here, that’s what I’m sorry for.
I’d rather just be able to explain my perspective, and hear yours and have it be civil. But I feel even when communicating with you in a civil manner, i read you as combative. I’m not sure if this thread is the appropriate place to have this conversation, but I’d rather respond then ignore you. Maybe I just need to apply a softer tone to your posts.

Why should they take the Pig more seriously when the RBTs don't even become an active threat until the Survivors decide they do?The reverse bear trap is the scariest part of the game for a survivor, I think. I honestly don’t get how you have so much hate for something in the game which I think is so incredibly effective.
When does the RBT become an active threat, instead of something you may have to remove at some point during the game? Right, when Survivors decide to finish repairing a generator. Oh, but you can see all the box auras, so it's really no problem. Just Sprint Burst on to one of them, find the key on the first or second try, boom, done. If you get really unlucky, you may have to search three or even four boxes with the full knowledge that you're not in any real danger because this is a Killer whose power is literally designed not to harm you unless you're braindead.
I can only assume you don’t know how to play the Pig because I use her and it’s very effective.

I think it should get a new feature on its third, or maybe even second form. I would increase the bonus you get, but add a little something else. Like being immune to exposure for 1/2/3 seconds or something, it would fit the name of the perk too.

If it looks like you still have the Add-ons, then that is because the game keeps using your currently selected Add-on type until your inventory runs out of its stock of that particular Add-on.
This makes way more sense. I wondered why my add ones never disappeared, I was actually wondering if I should Report it as a glitch. I’ll have to double check and make sure, because I feel like add one that I don’t have duplicates of stay sometimes.

Yeah, when I play Killer I normall don’t worry about the brightly covered survivors as much because they are so much easier to spot. You’ll either be ignored more or tunneled if you wear bright clothes typically. People expect you to be good, or have found you’re easy to spot.

I think it would be based on the survivors. Like the entity would want the most hope from them so some might feel hope build over time as they survive and feel they’re doing well. Some others might feel the most hopeful in the beginning, before time starts to tick by and they get less tired.

I think it’s a Koji, it’s a demon that used to be a human woman. They often cry and scream and moan because they are tormented souls. It would be cool if the woman voice came from the sword welder, and the person standing unclothed was the man speaking, hoping to stall the demon with conversation.
I’ve been thinking The Slit Faced Woman since the beginning but this was an interesting idea I thought.

Having a couple preset tool box, flashlight ,medkit, and map items would be awesome. it could be purely visual aesthetic and it would be kind of fun to mess with.
The golden idea here is customizable chase music. I love the idea of setting a tone with each killer by choosing either your own music from a preset selection, or maybe each killer could have their own which reflects their "film/vibe"
-
I had NO idea crouching multiple times was teabagging and i have been rude to so many killer players when I had been telling my teammate to crouch. I've always wondered how people did it. Do the survivors hands do a weird thing? I never paid attention to whether they were making a gesture, ill have to pay attention next time.

I’d love to get a mostly inside, partially outside movie theater map and have a monster from Demons as a killer

Or maybe we could get the two ideas mergered and get the Killer from Popcorn, and a survivor from the cast

Not to mention the cosmetics with an opera themed killer! I would love to dress my survivor up as if he were going to an opera or even a masquerade ball!
Holy I just searched up both of your recommendations (I’ve never heard of either movie) for a killer and both ideas sound intriguing!

You should check out Phantom of the Paradise! It's a mix of Faust and Phantom of the Opera presented as a horror rock opera in the 70s. haha.
I'd love to see The Phantom from that as a killer, and Phoenix as a survivor.

People get upset about it because it kills the fun part of the experience. When you tunnel someone, you are giving everyone else the chance to get points and be interactive in the game. It's understandable to want to be rid of someone by hooking them multiple times, and its not unreasonable to think of the killer doing that. That being said, it will inevitably make someones game boring and not enjoyable. Its as simple as you either caring if they have fun as well, or not.
-
I'm glad bloodlust 3 is gone. It means they've removed a flawed mechanic. What they really need to do is finally rework some of the maps. also with the exhaustion nerf, it'll make chases a lot easier from what i understand because you won't get sprint burst 40 seconds in right before bloodlust three would have even activated. So they are making it so that it takes 80 seconds to reactivate it, and your bloodlust two will overcome them much faster since a survivor is bound to screw up and they can't rely on that extra 150% boost in the middle of a chase now.
I do think it still needs map adjustments, and there is eventually a need for bloodlust to be removed. It was never meant to be a permanent feature, and it was a quick temporary fix. I have an issue believing they'd completely scrap it though, especially with perks effecting it. So I imagine Bloodlust 1 will still exist and emerge after a period of time in a chase.
