  • He’s so fun! And he totally gets 4Ks. I’m honestly so happy with this killer! ^_^

  • I heard there was an update on the release of this? Is it still coming out in December?

  • I will agree that Billy is the easiest killer in the game to play, but being easiest and easy are two different things.

The only reason I would say he is broken is because his chainsaw nearly always causes lag when used, so it does make it harder for survivors to avoid his chainsaw for the reason that the lag ruins your ability to tell where you’re going as a survivor. But that will be fixed once they get dedicated servers, hypothetically.

I dont get why survivors want things to be easier. It's not suppose to be easy at all

Because they dont wanr the thrill or challenge presented by the games trailer and concept. Most want a bully simulator so they can try to make people ragequit.

I’d say the bullying comes from the idea that someone being THE killer makes them evil for the game, especially when you don’t see the player or hear their voice. It’s easier to dehumanize them, and make you feel like the “genuine good guy” in the game.

As for the making things easier, people don’t like too hard of a challenge, especially when they feel like they are overcoming “evil”. They want to feel like they can survive, not that they can overcome a difficulty, it’s about winning versus a ridiculously long social dichotomy that’s existed since forever. A lot of people when they play survivor feel a sense of entitlement simply for playing the good guy. And bullying something “evil” is okay. Think of all the bad peoples who have existed, and how people speak about them. It’s justifiable human nature in the real world, and they apply it here.

What if you set it up so the hooked survivor could hold M2 or something, which would show him as a different aura color to other survivors and won't allow an unhook. The potential rescuer won't get a surprise, and you can use this as a code to let your teammates know killer is too close.

It’s a neat idea, especially since auras are canonically a form of communication between survivors. But I think if you can directly communicate where a killer is while on the hook that there should be a bit of a negative side to it, a.....sacrifice.

Maybe the killer should also see the aura change if you press the button. Or if a survivor is activating it, then it highlights other survivor auras that are within 4-6 meters? As a survivor, it would be amazing, but I feel it would be slightly unfair when playing Killer.

They should totally add a clapping feature, I would become so toxic (apparently im considered toxic rn since I loop pallets a little too hard) I'd have the time of my life just clapping for the Trapper/Billy ^^.

Lol, this isn’t even relevant to the topic of this thread. I don’t consider looping toxic, but clapping would be horrible. That would serve no mechanic except trolling...I mean I suppose it would be good for getting someone’s attention....but I get the vibe you’re using this as an example of how something with a potentially beneficial function can be abused in an unfair manner. Fair enough. Don’t add something that can bring in more negativity or it’ll fix one issue while creating a new problem to fix later.

At first it sounds like a good idea but this cancels out Borrowed Time, if you're SWF you wouldn't need to kick but if you're all solo you have no idea if someone has BT so if you think your buddy is making a bad save and you kick him then you screwed yourself out of a BT save and got that guy and yourself killed for nothing.

I was thinking about how it would make borrowed time less effective as well.

What if instead of a kick maybe they added the ability to use one hand to point if a killer is coming, but it doubles the speed of the bar depleting when you use it so you have to be really sure or you’re just killing yourself faster? Something that adds communication but also has a high cost.

Simple fact is I say gg to be nice. I can't control how someone perceives it. I don't do it for self gratification. I do it because it's polite. I'm sorry that you've met some toxic players but it's not going to stop me from giving a genuine gg.

"I don't do it for self gratification"

"I'm sorry that you've met some toxic players but it's not going to stop me from giving a genuine gg"

So you don't care about the other guy; it's all about what you want to do. That's self-gratification.

Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night. You want to find a reason to be offended so have at it.

You’re glossing over the fact you are doing it for self gratification, maybe not on a conscious level, but habitually. Often times politeness is perceived as kindness even though in reality they aren’t one in the same. Doing something and saying that it doesn’t matter if you offend someone is a statement that blatantly disregards someone’s feelings and provides you with the satisfaction of being kind, even though you very well may not be and could be offensive.

Maybe “gg” isn’t th exact issue, but with what you have said you are putting your own self interest over the receiving party’s interest.

It doesn’t make you a bad person because a lot of societies enforce the idea that politeness is kindness, but it’s truly developed as a social structure that works off of suppressing voices and forcing a level of acquiescence.

If you genuinely care, you’ll do more to actively communicate. If you don’t care about them and don’t want to bother, you’re choosing to actively do something that will upset certain people.

Once again, you can be selfish, but own it and don’t pretend it’s coming from an altruistic place. Own the fact you’re doing it for yourself, or own the fact you’re okay with upsetting some people for the sake of maybe letting others know you had fun.

  • This makes me both fume and laugh. I’m so adding to this thread when I get back from karaoke tonight. I’m sorry to everyone here who had to deal with such jerks. It’s sad how easily people can disassociate a player with a human being sometimes. Even if it’s a game where you place yourself in the mindset of a survivor/killer dichotomy

  • I honestly feel that a killer should be able to grab a survivor who isn’t walking/running, or they should find a way to possibly implement that. The Doctor should easily be able to just...grab Claudette right there. Or maybe be able to grab them after a set time of not moving from a certain area like how the crows show up

  • I say Kate.

We need this updated to add Kate, Adam, and Jeff ^_^

In the end, I will continue to say gg. If you get offended that's your problem.

Like I said, if your intent is to just say GG, do as you please, but you'll be perceived as an [BAD WORD] many times thanks to your fellow Survivors. If your intent is to get your point across, you'll need a couple more words (or just say nothing).

It's not my problem how someone chooses to perceive my gg. If they want to take it the wrong way then that's their problem. I'm not going to baby anyone out of fear of offending them.
Or maybe I should do the following; GG, and why I feel that way. An essay by KatFever78. 🙄

Do what you want, but don’t act like you aren’t being selfish here. And if someone calls you out for being selfish, own it.

What’s the point of even wishing people a good game if you don’t care about negatively effecting them and figure it’s their problem if you offend them?

At first I thought you meant well, but it really seems like you want the self gratification of coming off as a good person as opposed to actually giving people a real thank you/good wishes.

  • It’s fixing a graphical error. I’d be cautious of using the term nerf. Yes this will make hitting the skill check easier, but it shouldn’t skip frames and jump a quarter inch randomly.

The spinning marker should be reliable unless they decide to make a killer perk that effects the speed on purpose. Maybe slowing it down and then speeding it up randomly.

  • Though you mean well Kat, Orion is an in life example of someone who would take offense be it because they have gotten a lot of online harassment in the game, or whatever other reason. I won’t claim I know the source.

But if you feel compelled to wish someone a good game, maybe type out more then the two letters. Even if it’s a universal form of communication in gaming, it will save hurt feelings if you type out a sentence to add context.

The intentions are good, but it’s also important to not do something that makes YOU feel good that’s optional if it may negatively effect others

I personally don't believe that the legion is supposed to get downs with his/her power. This is why I disagree with what most of people propose for the legion.

I think devs' intention was that the legion would go into frenzy mode, injure multiple people at once, and start to chase the last survivor. While he is chasing the last survivor, others will have enough time to mend and heal themselves and start to work on generators.

They most probably thought that the legion deserved 110% ms because getting hits and wasting people's time is really easy for him. They couldn't think that when a killer has 110% ms, it is so difficult to get hits that people actually don't even care to heal themselves up because the killer is not a threat.

This is why changing mending mechanics, allowing nurse's calling, having other additional stuff doesn't really mean anything. At this point, they should give him 115% ms and evaluate him accordingly. If the legion is proven to be really weak even after 115% ms, we can start to think about mending mechanics etc.

So what is the direct issue you may have with my suggestion? How do you feel it may negatively effect the game versus positively effect it?

He definitely needs 115% ms, we can all agree on that and I am sure he is gonna get that. The problem is that we don't know how he will be after his movement speed change. He will basically have NOED throughout the entire game. If the survivors decide to heal themselves, then he will save a lot of time and waste a lot of pallet.

Your suggestion is easily the best one in this forum but I think we have to see him having 115% ms. Him having 115% ms and + your suggestions might be overbuff.

Also if they give him 115% ms, that 3% ms debuff for the survivors shouldn't happen.

I agree that if he gets that speed boost it would make this idea less considerable of an option. Id prefer changing Deep Wounds to giving him a speed boost.

I also agree that if most people want him to be faster instead and it helps make the killer viable, then it should happen in place of the concept I’m putting forward.

  • I think that’s a neat idea! I’d be down to see how that change works out,

Would this feature be exclusively for you? Because if so, then this counter-argument is perfectly fine. If not, well...

His response was directed toward me specifically so I responded with how I used it. I wasn’t speaking for others. ;)

His response is still applicable in a generic setting and is a legitimate complaint. Anything that can be used for good reasons (MLGA for ping) can also be used for bad ones (MLGA to ban people who dared play a specific Killer or in a specific way). This is no different.

And that’s why I reiterated the idea of it being put into a PBT to see how it would work out, or how it may be tweaked to properly function.

From what I understand you both believe that it wouldn’t help people from being hook farmed, but instead would encourage hooked survivors to help killers get other survivors

Edit: is that accurate or is there a concern that deviates from that? If you’re concerned about the abuse of the suggested mechanic, it would be interesting to brainstorm solutions or ways to work around the specific issues you hold with the idea.

  • I mean if you all reread the OP, I suggested possibly putting it in the PBT to see how it would work out as a mechanic. So it wouldn’t just be randomly added in. It would be tested, and they would see how peop,e use it and when they use it, and how to time the animation/etc.

Do you like dieing on hook?
Because I doubt that I will try to save you vs a patrolling killer. You will just kick me in the face I will die for nothing. No thx

Obviously I don’t like dying on the hook. That’s a silly question.

Also if you reread my original post you would see I was commenting on a specific player who was working with the killer. If you are concerned about dying after trying to save them, don’t point at lockers that people are in when a killer approaches, or point at walls/window openings people are crouching behind to tell the killer where people are. If you are working with the killer then you probably haven’t been hooked, and wouldn’t be hooked if you tried to help them farm more hooks. Also, if the killer did decide to turn on you while you tried farming, I would be okay with that since you helped me get hooked in the first place.

You’re assuming when I would use it, and not using your words to inquire more about the mechanic and why I would like it. Ask questions, and you can make better informed opinions.

by people who are literally just trying to troll teammates by kicking them off of the rescue for the sole purpose of watching them die?

Sure, but I don’t feel that people would prefer to let themselves die just to kill another all that often. I think it’s more likely that someone would sacrifice another person to save their character.

Do you believe that people would not want to be unhooked, and instead kill other characters randomly for the heck of it a lot?

  • I agree with 2 and 3 but not 4. The nurse isn’t impossible to play at rank one, I’ve played her in that rank and enjoyed her quite a bit. The learning curve is difficult for her, especially when survivors are so much better, and I agree that the sensitivity should be altered in some manner. But she isn’t a bad character killer at rank 1, let alone one of the worst.

Keep in mind if you’re good with her on computer, and not on console then it might just be because some people find different controls easier to use.

    @AChaoticKiller said:
Yea I agree with the sensitivity change but the grab is not just with the pig, its all killers. This bug makes you freeze while you do a grab then it turns into a hit or something idk but it is a problem that has made me lose a survivor and it extends the chase when it should have ended.

Yeah I’ve had this issue with the Clown, Spirit, Nurse and Hag.

  • Thanks! It would be cool because you would constantly have to stop what you’re doing every once in a while to recover the bar, thus slowing the game down, and adding the stress of when you should/ shouldn’t . Plus it forces players to seek out others if they want to recover, thus encouraging them to group and make the Legion power a little more effective.

Players would have to balance working together, or being healed and running away from other survivors. That would still combat gen rushing even without the Legion’s gen aura perk. But even better with it

It’s a little bit of a mix between Freddy and the Spirit’s powers. But different enough that it think it would feel like a new play mode in the game.

  • I think it’s great you’re asking questions that may not go through other people’s heads, or may seem false. It’s quite often that sometimes something that feels false is actually a veradical paradox, and it shows creativity

  • It typically takes 2 or so weeks after the finished PBT to release them, based on the last release. But I believe because the responses and criticism of the killer’s abilities, it may take a couple 2-3 weeks then last time to test out how to properly implement the abilities. There has not be an officially given date as far as I’ve seen.

Freddy would, be the other because I hate going against him, and his power doesn’t make sense to me. His power should let him entire the real world when his obsession is asleep. Also his power should add a terror/fear effect.

  • This makes it so difficult to choose! I wish we could get more then one, but I suppose that one is going to look really sick and it'll be rad to have a slightly more rare costume. The Trapper looks like Plank Face mixed with a WWE wrestler which is pretty fun, and The Wraith looks amazing with his hollow core and new tree/ent like form he's in the top for sure. Since I knew that that statement is bullshit, I had a look at every single comment in this thread again and noted down if the people who posted them were pro OP, contra OP or either undecided or had an "off-topic" comment.

Excluding OP, there are only 4 people so far who support OP's request for an LGBTQ character to be added to the game.

9 people were undecided or didn't contribute to that question.

But a big fat majority of 15 people are against adding an LGBTQ character for the sake of having one. That's almost 4 times as many as are for adding one. Of at least 3 of those people, I know that they are gay or bisexual themselves.

Stop talking crap and don't call 4 people "plenty".

There is a big queer community that enjoys dead by daylight, just because they didn’t all postndoesnt mean there aren’t people whom
Read these threads and play the game. There are plenty who support this.

You claim that many people support this, but the actual, verifiable evidence shows that almost four times as many people oppose this. Your imagined support just isn't coming through in real support.

PS: Just because they're queer doesn't mean they want this. As @DocOctober pointed out, at least 1/5 of those who oppose this are bisexual or homosexual themselves. Don't presume to know what we want just because we're not heterosexual.

  • I really dig it. It’s a good step in the right direction

i didnt say you had to leave i said you should since there is no reason for you to be here except to constantly tell me im wrong for wanting this so again why are you here whats the reason other than to bother me? just go away please.

    1. I do have a reason for being here and that's posting
    2. I never said you were wrong
    3. No one is bothering you and you playing the victim card because no one agrees with you? how old are you? 12? Like listen man I stated my opinion and clearly the majority agrees with me and even a user who is gay agreed they don't care.

a reason for being here is not to just post it states in the rules of the fourm you are not aloud to de-rail the post which you are by not even participating in the question i asked, also yes you said we shouldnt add a LGBTQ character since it isnt necessary. and yes you are bothering me and i am not playing the victim card since multiple people on here agreed with me and want this, i am 17, you can state your opinion all you want but you dont need to contantly post on this thread because of the sake of posting and the majority is not just agreeing with you its about 50/50 and not everyone has posted here. just because one gay person agreed with not adding this its probably because they dont like labels and i understand that but if your like me you take the label Gay and you make it you, it enpowers you and you say it with pride. if you dont say that your gay because you dont like labels then you probably arent sure that your gay or you went threw some kind of trauma that caused you not to want to label yourself. so again for like the 4th time just go, there is no reason for you to be here if your not going to participate in the thread and basically say no im not when i say you are. i say your bothering me and you sau no your not. i say you have no reason for posting here and you say your reason is to post. I say you stated that this is wrong and you say no you didnt.

You are the only one derailing it and I don't care for the rest of the things you said here now like I said no one really cares for a trivial concept such as "sexuality" for characters in such a video game if you care so much write a fanfic or something because I said "it doesn't really matter."

then if you dont care about it go away from my post theirs no reason for you to de-rail it any longer. and yes multiple people care about the concept of sexuality for characters in video games. look again i say he is de-railing it and he provides on proof and says i am. also i say there are people who care about a LGBTQ+ character being added and he says no one does. see guys? this is the exact definition of a internet troll. and i will just be igrnoring his posts for now on until they add the block feature to the fourms

YOU ARE THE ONE DERAILING IT! Stop quoting me back here! I'm not even trolling you just butthurt because everyone isn't agreeing with your "I need to force my sexuality to feel empowered!" Concept and yes block me! Jeeez for a 17 yr old you act like a 5 yr old.

this poster has plenty of people supporting their desire to talk about queer characters being in the game. ;)

    Speaking as a gay guy...

You're being goddamn shallow. Quit begging for "representation" in the form of such a completely trivial character trait. Take pride in your personality, not your superfluous, immutable characteristics.

I'd much rather read about a character's chosen profession and last moments than who they prefer to bone. And most other people who have been raised to see themselves as a person rather than a checklist feel the same way.

To be shallow is to lack depth, and I'd definitely say that the detail would literally add more to the character. I don't know why people are making posts about how they'd rather see an occupation instead. Those bits of info in the bio don't need to be mutually exclusive, and can both be involved in the background.

Also, no one is begging for representation. Any point being used to express an interest in said character would make sense if someone simply wants to see a more relatable character. Essentially every post that seems to be insisting the desire for a gay character has been made in response to someone else expressing their interest in someone who's gay not being in the game. It makes sense to voice the desire to see a gay character in response to someone saying they don't want one, especially in a thread about queer characters.

I don't see an issue with people taking pride in both their personality and qualities about themselves that they can't chance. Once again, you don't have to sacrifice one to express or feel strongly about the other.

Being queer isn't just about who you want to bone. Someone queer could be an asexual character. And being gay or queer can be about a lot more then who you wanna have sex with because it's brought up in ignorant and irrational ways. Like someone implying it's only needed to refer to a sex scene.

What if they character is a romantic, and their whole story is about the their lover dying and they couldn't save them. Or maybe they loved someone who got pulled into the void since it's implied people in the real world know if and possibly worship The Entity. There are two simple examples of a bunch that could be introduced.

I feel like people here queerness being involved in something and for some reason you assume it has to be the most important detail. Instead of being a detail of many.

I'm certainly not saying i want a gay character simply to have one. I'd love one who has a cool background and good perks, and an interesting visual design, and happens to be queer.

  • Realistically we would probably get Sheva, or Rebecca because they would be more affordable then the others. Maybe Steve or Claire, I'd love any of them really.

    Talk about overthinking something.

There's no place in any video game for something like that. It doesn't mean anything. It defies logic and nature.

It is someone's personal choice, and that is fine. It doesn't bother me... however, pushing that in a survival horror game would just be pushing an agenda... and personally would make lots of people angry.

They are doing things just fine now. No political agenda is being pushed... just normal story and normal fun stuff.

To make a character and them being gay? Why?

It doesn't add anything to anything at all. It is UNNECESSARY. We've got millennials trying to bait and ask things that make no sense.

I don't play a video game wondering is someone is straight or gay. Who cares? DbD has stayed clear of that. you millennials can think Nea is gay, or whoever else.

That's on you. Behaviour doesn't NEED to cater to the minority about a controversial topic. Some people don't like it.

I think being gay is wrong. I think it is a sin, and I think that it is a personal choice someone makes. That is fine. I have to hate against gays, but I also don't have to agree with it. That is my right.

Putting gay stuff in this game would ruin it. It isn't needed.

Leaving it as it is... as it has been for over 2 years is fine...

Changing things around or adding a new gay character doesn't do anything. It will just please a few millennials and piss off a lot of people like myself.

So before this gets twisted badly....

Being gay is okay. I don't agree with it, but do whatever you want people. Just don't bother me about it.

Having gay characters in media in which there's no history of anything gay... WRONG.

They've stayed away from that, smartly. It doesn't matter is Dwight was gay before he was killed... who cares man. What does that do? It doesn't do anything good.

You say who cares but then very clear state you don't want it because you care about not having a gay character in it. You say it's wrong and then later say it isn't. You claim its a choice, which it isn't, which shows you lack the knowledge to properly address the issue because that is ignorant as all get up.

No matter what action you chose to take, someone who is gay is gay, whether or not they embrace it.

It's not wrong to involve queer characters. How would making any of the characters gay ruin it? How? Give me a specific example.

  • If you go back to the main page of the forum, and then scroll down to Feedback there is a Section called Bug Reports, I'd recommend you post this there.

There is also Technical Support where you can post this under Technical Issues.

I'm guessing that will be the easiest and fastest way for you to report this properly and get your rank fixed if possible. I hope they figure this out for you!

  • If this game wasn't advertised as a game where it can be 4v1 or 1v1v1v1v1 then I'd say No Mither was a bad game design.

The game has been created with the option of self preservation being a valid play style, so I don't think its a development flaw to have an option to play risky for the sake of having more stealth. Even if it unfortunately effects your SWF or solo players.

No, he asked you why you think it matters, asked what you gained from knowing it, and then said it wasn't a part of the lore that impacts the game. You're reading things that aren't there.

    ^That

And quite frankly, @TheLegendDyl4n1 regarding the attitude you portray in this thread, you are part of why some people dislike those identifying as LGBTQ.

Representation is an incredibly important aspect of human culture, and important for marketing when it comes to expanding your target audience. As someone who is queer, it would make me happy to see someone I can relate to on a deeper level who is in this scenario.

Specifically I have experienced trauma related to being queer, and I literally use this game sometimes as a form of relief and therapy. There’s something healing about being in a safe space and using a survival horror game to relieve an assault experience and survive. Especially unscratched.

My trauma doesn’t specifically lie with just being queer, but other crazy experiences as a child related to a neigbor next door with a knife. So horror games and horror movies in general work as a sort of therapeutic experience for me. But to reiterate it would be nice to see someone who I can relate to a little more when playing survivor.

As others have asked before: why does it matter? What would it give you to know someone's sexual orientation in this game? That's really not the part their lore or back-story should focus on as it's irrelevant to the game. If this were some triple-x homage of Dead by Daylight, it would be a different story.

any lore related question can be asked here so again as i will say you need to leave the lore area if your going to complain about every lore related question you dont like or cant comprehend

Maybe you should leave instead since you continuously refuse to answer an honest question.

You’ve already been given an answer, it seems you’re just struggling to comprehend it.

It matters because of representation. And I absolutely disagree, it should not only be implemented if this site were some triple x homage. That’s grossly ignorant. Why should it only be relevant if there’s gonna be a over sexualized fan base? Queer characters can show intimacy without getting oversexualized, and that association of it needing hyper sexalization and only being valid in that circumstance is rather inappropriate.

This game is about showing people from different walks of life struggle to survive. I’d like to know because it’s just as interesting a detail to me as Claudette being a botany student, or meg being a runner who didn’t pursue her dreams to take care of her mother.

It doesn’t have to be the mai aspect of a character’s identity, but it is valid to view it as an element that would critically shape the experiences of the survivor and thus influence their personality and position in life.

Last, I don’t understand why you’re posting here asking why the sexuality matter s here, but not posting over in the “Claudette’s love interest” thread making the same points. The fact you are only posting about this issue in a thread about lgbtq representation and not in threads talking about romance and sex in general appears like your issue is focused on the lgbtq element itself and not about representation of romance and sexuality.

My issue lies with people wanting to be represented at all cost and especially for the sake of it, which OP's request is.

As for Claudette's love interest, I don't post in every single thread on this forum. My "interest" in this thread was mainly its title and that my buddy Orion was the last one to post in it when I saw it.

Wanting to be represented at all costs? What did they sacrifice or “pay” or say should be given up for the chance to have a queer character? I don’t recall them saying anything should be removed from lore or taken away to have that representation

It seems to me that you take the saying "at all cost" a tad too literally. I'm simply pointing out that it's OP's only argument for why a LGBTQ character should be added to this game or why someone of the existing ones should be outed as such.

It's a slasher horror game, who cares about their sexual orientation? I bet you anything that many who posted in here disagreeing with OP's request are actually LGBTQ themselves, but like Orion or myself don't feel the need to be desperately represented in every game we play just for the sake of being represented.

I don’t see anyone being desperate for it. And desperation is a quality that comes from a valid circumstance of need. But once again I don’t see this as a deperate act.

This detail could easily be added without any negative impact. It can be as simple a detail as Claudette studying botany, or Jake liking to be be alone in the woods. It’s a detail about the character, and would still add to the survivor. I don’t see what the game could lose by mentioning it.

I’m not saying I want shirtless Michael Myers in the game, or bikini/speedos for survivors. This is a quality about the character. It doesn’t mean they have to have a specific look or way their voice sounds. And even then, if they do have a queer image....well those people exist, and the entity would eventually take one. It wouldn’t take from the game because it would still be realistic.

Unless there is a way it could take from the game that you’d like to share and discuss.

You’re saying I’m taking your phrasing too literally but you speak with these dramatic words and phrasing’s like “desperately represented”. I don’t see why it has to be desperate, or why you’re interpreting it as desperate. The developers could easily bring that representation without negatively effecting the game or lore. It would simply be another detail about a character.
