  • DAMN. Starbreeze won 86.5% of the game's proceeds in the circumstance. That's insane!

  • I really want the killer to be a smokey form with a dismembered hand reaching out with the incense bell. I think that would be so eerie and cool to see floating around the map ^_^

  • Not everyone is good with each killer. You might just not be good with the Pig.

  • What if it is a dismembered hand with an incense burner? That would be so SICK if it was a floating dismembered hand. It could hit you with the intense burner as a weapon too.

  • I really like this concep,t but I do have a few critiques about it.

I love the concept of blending in with other survivors with a Mimic like creature. The use of glasses and a mustache I don't dig because it isn't scary in any way. The killer should at least we a scary concept, and wearing a beaglepuss isn't scary. Maybe they could have different colored eyes/all black eyes, or maybe their face goes into a creepy altered form, or twisted like the Cenobites in hellraiser, you know?

Maybe it could be good, but the beaglepuss doesn't sound like it'll hold that spooky aspect. They need something creepier.

I like the power and ability region, but i wish the killer could crouch, I feel like that would be a nice tactic to mind play with survivors. It would be cool if it could "pretend" to do the generator while reducing the speed of it without telling the survivors. They would have to look at the slow speed, recognize it's taking a while and see no debuffs are present.

Maybe they could extend the length a box opens if they interact with it? Maybe it so hex totems have a buff if they "work" on one. There are so many cool powers this killer could have to not only downright down them, but also have these neat abilities to mess with the survivor while they wonder what's going on.

I love the idea of a Run Burst perk, though I do think it has the potential to be too strong when wanting to play survivor. But I think it's really cool as a concept.

Borrowed Time is also a cool one, I've always liked the idea of extending the life of your hex and have it jump around, This would be an awesome perk to finally have.

Decisive Hit sounds more like the killers power, i'll have to mull this one over because i feel it's a little overpowered as a perk. I'd rather see this one tied into the killers power and called "Backstabber" or something. then give the killer a perk on top of it. Since this killers power is so stealth based and not damage based at all I think it should incorporate a token system that give it one hit downs with stealth attacks. It'll give them to play modes to jump between depending on how they like it. It needs that offensive edge anyway.

I'm not sure what the third perk could be in place of it. I am looking forward to seeing how close this resembles the killer they are going to release.

  • I would love that! I have kind of bad hearing, and I think the rumbling would add to the tension of the game. Especially if it worked in sync with the reverse bear traps 😍

BHVR laughing at this thread like...

    Lol

Maybe it's because of playin Pathfinder, but I was wondering if we are getting an inquisitor.

  • My guesses:
    1) Minotaur
    2) Gorgon
    3) Priest(ess)

It kind of also looks like a hanging terracotta urn but I'm not putting my eggs in that basket.

As for it being a christian based monster or priest, I doubt that since the developers have stated they wanted to avoid religious based killers in general.

  • I would LOVE an older woman as a playable character! We have men in their 30s/ early 40s and then the computer has Bill who is like 60/70.

I'd really like having a 30-70s playable female character. I'd run "mother builds" like I do with Ace and "father builds", lol.

part of me is wondering if it could be a Gorgon, like Medusa.

  • I think legion is fun ^_^

  • No. I think the only thing they are trying to do is discourage two play styles that ruin the game for a large player base. Camping and tunneling, which they have called valid methods on numerous occasions when watching their developers videos on youtube, are used too often as tactics and people don't tend to vary from it for fear of not being successful. So they are trying to make it so that those two play styles aren't as needed while at the same time developing play styles that make you want to try more then two specific tactics.

    I think it makes sense.

  • We’d be three weeks from spring in six days, and they could do a pbt for two weeks starting six days from now, and then have another week to fix the bugs. I’d prefer they spend mor time then that, but I feel like that might be the general trend. We could even factor in it releasing a week after spring on the 28th, so that could be a teaser released at the beginning of the two week beta and two weeks of issue fixes.

I actually love both of these, but I the first one to be a different perk, and the second a rework.

I personally don't think there's much of a use to Sole Survivor, because it's a perk that you run when you expect your team to lose. That's bad design. I think a full rework would serve it better.

I like the perks that also focus on solo survival. I don't play them often, but I think it's a valid form of play for survivors to not exactly help each other. Some people wouldn't help, and I think it adds tension to this survival horror game.

Its 100% not bad design because that has been an allowed style of game play since the beginning. The survivors aren't always supposed to be altruistic. You're purposely not supposed to know if they are gonna help. It's very horror movie like.

We can still find their track marks, and their blood trails, and hear them breath/whimper. If someone has managed surviving until the end I'm okay with it. I just wish there was a different mechanic for the hatch so we could more easily enjoy a perk like that. But this doesn't need to be another hatch discussion, lol.

I do overall like the two perks and would like to see them in the game. I think that rescue one is really cool.

For the second one, does perk also entail you pressing the action button when working on gens, grabbing people from hooks, destroying totems, etc.

That could be interesting, but I'd have to mull it over a bit.

  • I actually love both of these, but I the first one to be a different perk, and the second a rework.

  • I kind of wonder if the Legion came in as survivors would a high potential to kill, and they all turned over to the killer side with time and trials.

  • @artist said:
how much would it decrease by if there were only 2 tiers to each perk?

3,960,000 BP roughly based on how you go through the blood web.

  • But you are supposed to. It's about to getting caught, and also it's about not being sure if people will or won't hurt you. It's part of the tension of a survival horror game. You're not sure if your helping others will pay off, and you aren't sure if anyone will help you regardless. It makes it that much more exciting when someone does, and nerve-racking when not. Plus I think people save others plenty of times even when playing solo. I play solo all the time, and I feel like survivors are more likely to lose a game for altruism then to win a game and be selfish. I play on the PS4 console though, so you may be talking about the computer community which i have very little experience with.

  • I like it all except for the skill checks for hex totems. I think a test would be fair, something drawing their attention span to distract them from watching their back, but the R1/M1 pressing seems kind of...bleh. at least make the interaction different. Maybe each time you get a skill check it speeds up, or the speed changes? Something challenging but not so similar as the gen checks.

  • It's all so true! I'll so stay when the exit gates are open and there is a NOED. I'm gonna die trying to help ya escape! Yeah it sucks to die sometimes, but its totally grand to help someone else escape at end game.

  • I think that would be neat too. Depending on how long they last you might have to be very tactful with how you use them which is grand. I like the idea of there still being a challenge in using them, maybe to block a window or a walkway, tricking killers into walking into a dead end or wall because of it.

I wonder how visible they would be for killers and players when it comes to the smoke rising. Would they raise high like the light in maps? Would it give light tufts? Is it more of a cloud?

  • We’ll make it or Botany Knowledge

    Dead Hard or Sprint Burst

    No Mither or Deliverance

    Claudette or Meg

    Breakdown or Saboteur

For some reason I don't like playing Meg characters. I play with all of the characters and I feel like the killers like to be more aggressive and tunnels with Meg then with some other characters. I feel Claudette gets a similar treatment but I feel like Meg gets it worst of the two.

Also, I like controlling my actions rather then having them happen passively, so I prefer saboteur, because it's useful if you don't get caught which is the goal anyway.

I like no mither because it helps with a stealth play. Deliverance once again is another perk that works passively, and helps you with getting caught. I like most all perks because I think they are fun to play in different combos, or when trying to use costumes to create a specific character/archetype in horror. No Mither works passively but you also can use the passives actively to avoid being caught. Also it does help when you've been left to bleed.

Dead Hard you activate. I actually HATE sprint burst. Its probably my least favorite perk and one of the only ones I don't like. I hate that it automatically activates when you press the hurry button. But I also understand why you can't activate it in some way. I still wish I could though. Dead Hard is also grand because I like playing am ore protective role with people i play with. I like taking the hit or pulling the killer away from other players. Plus that .5 second immunity thing is pretty awesome. It's the only time you can acquire immunity from a killers attack and can help even when not taking a hit for an ally.

We'll Make It I like because it rewards you for helping a character and I like that it gets stronger as you use it more. i t feels like the character is building on their skill. Heck I would have chosen Adam's Autodidact if it was against these two because I love the skills that start of as a detriment or weaker, and get stronger through the game.

So yeah those are my pics and why.

15 survivors with 3 perks each = 45 different perks
    14 non-specific survivor perks = 14 different perks
------------------------------------------------ = 59 different survivor perks in total.
    x 3 tiers
--------------------------- = 175 levels in total to unlock every perk at worst case scenario

(175 instead of 177 since each character starts with their 3 perks, so gets 3 perks for their 1st level)

From level 1 to 50 costs around 1,670,000 BP
Level 50 can cost around 60k.
    60,000 x 125 levels left will equal:
7,500,000 BP after the initial 1,670,000 BP

175 levels cost around 9,170,000 BP to max a character and get every perk in the WORST case scenario where you get them all by 1st tier, then 2nd tier, then 3rd tier.

This is without choosing to prestige your character.

Some perks might not be viewed as desirable, and some might show up at Tier 2 or 3 automatically, reducing the levels. On top of that, you might find a way to cut off a couple thousand each level by tricking the blood web into eating large chunks of itself each time.

What do you all think? I thought this would be interesting to do, so I tried to do some quick math before work.

Now imagine being a killer and actually being forced to lvl up everyone since they are not just skins....

I partially agree and disagree because I find the killers more fun to level up then the survivors BECAUSE the survivors are just skins. The Killers have more uniqueness to them and thus it's like playing different game modes with each one. The only killers I don't like playing are The Hillbilly and The Cannibal, but I think it's because their powers are so similar even if they do have a tweak to them.

  • Can’t wait for players on both sides to start getting banned for DCing ^_^

Its eventual goal is to consume the world in darkness.

Not at all, if i am not wrong the devs said that the entity was not interested in world domination, he is feeding from the survivors and killers despair and angsty

    the entity is a she...

Maybe, where has the entity been referred to as a specific sex. It seems like it would be beyond human definitions and comprehension, and would be neither male or female

  • She's not overrated. Some people just aren't as good with her as they would like to be.

@yes I also forgot to mention the tweet that develpoer posted, its a flag of Mali so killer will be African and plus je recent buff for spies from shadows made me think that new killer will have to do something with crows, maybe a scarecrow killer, what do you think

All the killers have a country associated with their file name, and none of the countries correlated to the origin location of the killer, nor the killer's nationality.

That clue was more likely a teaser that gave away nothing but the file name, though it would be cool to get a killer from a new region.

  • I can't wait for players on both sides to be banned for DCing. Don't try to play the game if you.....aren't going to play the game.

  • The game could implement the same effect as NOED as soon as the hatch opens, maybe that would balance things a bit?

  • I love mist offerings for certain killers. Nurse, Hag, legion, spirit, and Wraith all use them and benefit from them. So does the trapper with his traps.

DO NOT remove them, because I love using them as a killer.

  • Thanks for putting this all together and translating it!

Hi! How cool it sounds if survivors had a perk that allows you to pick two items. In order to escape the match and gain double the items. In game this could have a negative effect since both hands are occupied, so maybe survivors can’t jump windows while they carry two items. What you guys think?

What does the killer to balance things out?

I'd suggest that Franklin's demise would knock out both items from your hands

The ability to carry 2 items gives survivors a benefit, but it comes at a greater cost. You burn through your times too fast. You might not even use them that round, and if you die you lose both items and all their add ons. Plus it takes up a perk slot to potentially not use a second item.

Maybe the perk could slow actions down by 6/4/2% since you have your hands full?

  • Both survivors and killers complain all the time. A good amount of people just get sore about not being as good as they wish they could be sometimes.

  • Though I can agree that it's annoying, the video is the worst example. This player literally hid his trap in a glitch and then feigned ignorance as to whether or not the survivor could see it. If anything DS corrected an exploit used by the player who was the killer.

I do think there should be a visual cue for DS, like maybe you can't hold any items with it equipped until it's been used and while it's active you hold a shard in your hand

  • I though they fell asleep at the camp fire and then woke up in the trials

  • @XavierBoah17 said:
Can we gets some more info on these things? They are present in every map but they are just there with no context. Since the Entity creates the trials, what reason would it have to manifest Golden Toolboxes?

I didn't know they were in every map! What parts of the maps are they located? I know about the ones under the picnic tables in...is it Lampkin or Springwood? I forget. But I thought it was special to one of those two maps!

  • @JanTheMan said:
Maybe just against The Pig or something.

It would be neat if the pig got a buff where there was a puzzle to open the exit gate. It would just add more to her power set and fit the theme of her character.

  • A second way to sacrifice survivors would be nice. I feel like the hook is cool, but I wish there was more creativity in your sacrificing them.

I'd really love at least 2 more ways to sacrifice a survivor....they could use the same algorithm they use for hooks to simply work for all 2-3 sacrificing types so you don't have like 8 hooks, 7 altars, 6 pits, etc. And then set a minimum of 2 of each sacrificial type.

That is genuinely the most disappointing thing about killer for me. It just feels more repetitive then survivor.

  • soak it in some peppermint and tea tree oil overnight, that always does the trick. it needs to be organic though

  • @LegitAdventurer said:
I think your best bet would be to play survivor more. Playing survivor has made me infinitely better as a killer. I'm no longer afraid of SWF anymore.

I agree here. Playing survivor not only gets you more familiar with the limitations of survivors, but also lets you be around them more, seeing how other players use their characters and what they do to hide, sneak, etc.

You just see survivors more when you play them, so it's easier to guess certain choices as killer.

Also, different killers are gonna be like different play styles, so some will be easier for others, while some are harder for others. It might just be that your play style doesn't fit the powers of the killer as well as another might. I thought I hated playing the wraith and leveled him last, and now I've found even before his update that he was one of my favorites.

  • 1) Some people wanna go specifically after the obsession

    2) They wanna guarantee at least one or two kills because they don't think they can achieve it with another play style.

    3) They are targeting specific characters in a movie like mind set. Creating a story they can follow that others don't know.

    4) They felt offended from something like tea-bagging, etc. and now want revenge

    5) They have a methodical/completion-ist mindset that makes them want to focus on one target at a time, and then go for the next, then the next, etc.

    6) Trolling for attention

EDIT: 7) They are playing a killer like the Wraith who is built for that kind of play style, though it isn't required to win with him

Those are my 7 best guesses.

  • I will always hold on when on the hook. You gonna let me die? Okay, i'll give you more time to rethink that or let the killer find you.

EDIT: I also own getting caught, but doesn't mean I don't wanna get the character I'm playing out of there and survive.

  • I honestly suggest not using any add ones that alter her teleportation distance. An extra teleport sure, or an add on that makes it so she recovers after, sure.

The main thing that helped me learn to use her well was to focus on getting used to her base teleportation distance so you can better estimate the areas you're going to appear at when you use the power.

  • Tell them why I enjoyed the game and that I hope they have a better round next time. Then exit.

  • I think Legion is pretty good. I think some people just aren't good with Legion. I like using them.

  • He was the first franchise killer I believe, though i may be wrong. So that could point to it being a new thing. The had released Bill as solo on the computer, so they were possibly considering the idea of doing more solo killers and survivors back in the day.

Also, Kate was designed around the time of leather face, and there is a lo of evidence pointing to the fact that she was gonna be the final girl of the remake of TCM (jessica biel), but they couldn't afford/get the rights to her character.

What if we change blindness status effect to include:

    Totem glow

    HUD notifications

Could someone elaborate on how this HUD notifications blindness thingy would work?

You wouldn't be able to tell if a survivor was healthy or injured, but be allowed to see if they are dead.

You probably couldn't see if they have the broken status effect, or any other icon triggers that appear at the lower left hud.

They should simply appear healthy, or you see they are dead and gone from the game. That's my proposal with blindness.

  • So you this perk essentially makes you sacrifice the ability to use items so that you can sense the aura of the hatch?

I think that though this idea is neat, it should be weakened. And i think there should be a balance put into play so that everyone doesn't just run this perk. Maybe for each person with the perk equipped the aura reading weakens? Or maybe once someone jumps through the hatch with this perk, it seals the hatch?

I feel like with the power to aura read the hatch, there should be some sort of weakness involved, or way to keep everyone from being that strong. the hatch is a mechanic i like in some ways but this makes it a little powerful.

  • Both these ideas would be fun if implemented well! I especially like the first idea, and the second idea is intriging.

I've always loved the game because of it's two-story functionality. It definitely adds some suspense when you're not sure if the killer is above or below you.

1 … 6 7 8 9 10 … 15
