Idk, I enjoy prestiging my characters. If the grind isn't fun for you, don't worry about it! The way I see it, the second I P3 everyone with all perks, the game will be a lot less fun because I won't really have any incentive to get BPs or to go through Bloodwebs. Not prestiging people just makes me get to that point of boredom earlier, so for now I'm enjoying the journey.
I also like prestiging because it gives me a reason to try out new perks. I usually don't get all of my favorites by the time I hit level 50.
That was my main justification for starting it. Once I obtain everything and Max everyone out I won't have to worry about points anymore. Just focus on having fun playing the game. Unfortunately that goal has become unobtainable. It felt alot more manageable back when I started playing in 2017 when the roster was smaller and I knew I could max everyone out in a reasonable time frame.

This is why I never prestige anyone. :P
Everyone I currently have unlocked is p3 50 and I am working on all perks for them but I am sort of suffering from the sunk cost fallacy. I feel compelled to keep going because the thought of seeing half my roster p3 and the other half just straight level 50 drives me up the wall. Its like an unhealthy addition that is ruining my experience with this game.

Least they could do, is disable AA for AntiAliasingQuality@0
That way, we could disable AA, by setting AntiAliasingQuality in gameusersettings to 0
In addition to letting us turn off Anti-Aliasing they could also change the AA method to MSAA not whatever spawn of Satan AA they are using now.

Seriously, you can count me on that list, @Peanits. I cannot play with AA on, it's just terrible blurriness and gives me a huge headache. I literally can't keep playing if you guys won't allow us to turn it off.
Agreed. I think i am going to set DBD down for a little bit. At least until they fix this.
-
Just played a few matches with this forced AA and i already have a headache from it. People turned it off FOR A REASON. It legitimately HURTS some people and looks terrible. I can't bear to play DBD like this.

People have been complaining forever, just less because there was a fix; no game should force someone to go into its engine files to make it playable for them.
I agree with this. This is the first game i have ever played on PC that does not allow you to tweak even BASIC graphics options. Even crappy console ports give PC users advanced graphics settings. This is just outrageous for a native PC title. We should at the very least have control over V-Sync, Anti-Aliasing levels and Frame Cap all from the games options menu.

HamletEagle basically answered it, but it's to prevent malicious modification of the ini files to gain an advantage. Unfortunately that means that other harmless tweaks, like disabling anti aliasing, are also disabled. It's not just to spite the people who prefer playing without anti aliasing.
Please Peanits, speak to whoever is in charge with making these decisions and ask them to give us a way to turn off Anti-Aliasing in game. This game should at least have a basic set of advanced graphics options for us to tweak.

He probably would become a farmhand and take over the farm when his parents pass away. Maybe get married and have a kid to take over the farm when he dies as well.
Thats kind of what i imagine. I just can't help but wonder what kind of life he could have led if his parents were not such human trash. His disfigurement could have likely been helped alot through reconstructive surgery and his awkward gait perhaps mitigated with physical therapy.
-
I would make it so that you get a ranger medkit with pharmacy but also remove the feature that lets you search chests faster. I would much rather have the faster chest search on plunderers instinct.
-
I don't think they over do it at all. Your parents are the defining factor in shaping what kind of person you grow up to be. Even if you end up nothing like them in the end there are still traces of their influence you can't escape. For serial killers there is a disturbing correlation between abuse they suffered at the hands of family as a child and their deranged actions in adult hood. I think it is very plausible that most of the human killers in DBD had some form of a ######### up childhood that molded them into the monsters they are.

I use it religiously on Billy. My build is Shadowborn, BBQ, Whispers and Enduring. Shadowborn is like a drug.
Thats my exact build right now. BBQ, Enduring and Whispers is non negotiable but swapping spirit fury for shadowborn although not practical just feels amazing. I think in general killers could serve to get a slight FOV buff.

ah ok. I did not know they did that. Thank you.
-
He was hacked together quickly. His power was lazily done and most of his addons are copy and pasted over from The Hillbilly. Unless you can catch survivors in the open his saw is useless and hurts him more than it helps except in cases where you want to camp.
In my honest opinion he is one of the worst killers in DBD. I and everyone else only loves him because he is a meme and i love to play him drunk. Hes great for being a brain dead killer that holds W.

The scariest thing in this game now isn't a beefcake psycho with a machete, or a demon ogre with a taste for blood... it's 4 Neas in bright clothing, with toolboxes, in a swf with comms. I can't believe the devs can miss this.
Ruin wasn't perfect, but it at least served a purpose of slowing the initial game down, giving the killer a chance to get started. Now, against even remotely competent survivors, you have a couple of gens popping by the time you've got someone on a hook, or even before. After that it becomes a frantic slog to try and keep ahead of the other gens before the survivors are all tbagging you at the exit gate.
It blows my mind the devs believed the reason it was used in 80% of games was because of emblems!
Trouble is, just increasing the gen time will make it dull for survivors to play. I feel like something else is needed to give the killer a chance to get started. Make survivors have to find spare parts or fuel, for example, before they can start fixing a gen.
That and fix the maps; the current map balance is horrible, with too many big maps that take ages to cross and bad pallet and window placements that make you abandon chases or else waste huge amounts of time.
Summed up my thoughts exactly. BHVR is known to make very poor game balance decisions unfortunately. They did not stop to really think about why people used ruin so much; they just saw the statistically high rate of use and decided to nerf it into the ground because newer players have a hard time with it. It feels like i am back in early 2018 again when they made flashlight and pallet saves nearly impossible to screw up so that noobs would have an easier time getting them smh.

Most Ruin totems went in under a minute anyway. It’s placebo.
Game speed against a good killer is probably on pr with your average team deatchmatch fps
Ruin was always a gamble but a necessary one. A roll of the dice that all but the strongest of killers needed. If it even lasted a minute you already got value out of it. The early game pressure it provided to help the killer get his first down was so critical to slowing the game. Now multiple gens go before the killer can get his first hook. It sucks. I miss old ruin even if it was a bandaid.
-
I second the motion for this! Plus i think every killer should have their own unique chase music. Would be epic!
-
The Demogorgon. Its not the hit itself that i like but the cooldown. Before the cooldowns on most killers were really uninteresting. Wiping blood, examining the weapon, etc. However with DemoDaddy he unleashes a mighty RAWR that lets the survivor filth know that he is the one in charge!
-
I used it a ton for the first year and a half i played this game. It was always in my builds the moment i had it unlocked. After the healing nerf plus the sloppy meta it has fallen out of my builds now. It simply wastes way to much time to heal yourself anymore. Its better to just equip Adrenaline and rush the gens. Ultimately it was a good thing. I used to crutch hard on the perk. Dropping it from my builds has made me a better player. If i really want self heals i will just bring a medkit.

No, I am not a troll. So don't flame me. I am just annoyed at this game. I bought this game 4 days ago and it's been nothing but a toxic rage fest.
If you bought this game 4 days ago you have ALOT to learn. If that is the case then i don't blame you for getting frustrated. This game is not easy for new comers. There is quite the learning curve and it can take sometime to get good at it for both sides.
However coming to the forums and venting your frustrations by suggesting insane nerfs to the opposing side is not how you are going to get better at this game. The devs once upon a time did knee jerk nerfs based upon the complaints of new players and it made one of the killers in DBD into one of the weakest in the whole game and only now has it been fixed recently.
You just got to play the game and learn what you can. If you are struggling with survivor i recommend getting some buddies and play SWF. It makes it easier when you have some friends. You can also watch popular streamers like Zubatlel, Puppers, Monto to get a feel for how experienced players play.
You will get better at the game with time. Just keep in mind that DBD is not fair to the individual player. Get comfortable with losing. Its part and parcel of the DBD experience. Take loses in stride and strive to improve and you will do alright. Good luck.
-
I ignore it. IE i wont burst a blood vessel trying to kill someone however i will BM right back. Mori spam, head nod etc. Trying to punish it via camping or tunneling though is a good way to lose the game. Best to just play normal. Higher chance of coming out on top.

I prefer the rng maps.
Static maps would just make it easier to know where everything is which people with lots of hours can already do by memorizing certain tiles but at least when a map loads they don't know exactly where all the safer spots to run too are and where a pallet/totem will spawn.
this is pretty much the crux of my argument for static maps though. With a static layout the maps could be designed in such a way that there would not be overly safe areas. Each part of the map could be carefully analyzed and balanced in such a way that every area of the map is a fair playing field. It would not matter if a player memorized the layout of each map. All that would matter is that its designed to be fair for both sides.

I wager pronunciation will hinge heavily on where you are in the world. I live in the Midwest United States and i pronounce it Dem-oh-gore-gin.

Honestly Haddonfield is SO awful, especially when survivors are running balanced landing.
This is the main thing for me. Balanced Landing turns the houses into infinites. Unless you are playing one of the few killers that can cope with this you will never catch the survivor. Its extremely frustrating.
-
Truth be told there really is very little incentive to prestige unless you really want bloody cosmetics or the minuscule difference in bloodweb rarity. For me personally i only prestige so that i feel like i am continually progressing my characters. Gives me a long term goal so to speak. Still it is alot of grinding and if i could do it over again on a fresh account i would not even bother with it.
-
Honestly the map should have been the first to be reworked over Badham. Badham was poorly designed but Haddonfield is way worse.
-
Haddonfield hands down. Map is absolute trash.

Its important to test the early stages of a killer. With limited perks and add ons.
So I can see their point.
Thats the point of a PTB and Internal testing. Once it goes live the test phase is over.
-
Tbh if i had any say in the balance of Moris i would suggest removing the Ebony entirely, dropping the Ivory mori from Green rarity to Yellow rarity and then integrate the Cypress Mori as a basekit feature.
-
Agreed it is irritating. Its a gripe i have had with the game for a long time. I want to be able too save up my points without being forced to squander them simply because i am approaching the cap. It really needs to be lifted.
-
Same. I was always hoping for a killer that was along the lines of Resident Evil and The Thing. This seems to fit the bill. Up until now all the other killers were corrupted humans. Its nice to finally see an Abomination. Hopefully it will be a decent killer.
-
I hope so. I missed last years bbq event :(

Killers should get a cooldown on their base kit Balanced Landing stagger reduction, in that case. There are no infinite loops in this game and there haven't been for years. Just chase in a straight path and you'll catch them.
Only place where this does not apply is the Myers house in Haddonfield. With balanced landing it is the only place in the game where you can infinite a killer unless you are nurse, trapper, hag. They cant catch up because there is no bloodlust thanks to LOS blocking.
With the responses in this thread though i am coming around to the fact that we should not blame balanced landing for this. Poor map design is the culprit here and i agree the maps should be fixed versus nerfing BL landing.
-
@PigNRun said:
Despite me agreeing that stuff like Hadonfield and BL shouldnt exist, they should rework the maps, not add another cooldown to the perk. Hell, Springwood is less of an issue than Haddonfield, they should have worked on the other map first.
I agree. Springwood sucked but it was not the defacto worst. Haddonfield should have gotten fixed first and foremost. It is the worst map in the entire game. Even without BL causing all the infinites it is still aids for both sides.

No
Can you elaborate as to why? If you disagree what would be an alternate suggestion in your opinion to address the balance issues this perk causes?
-
That i was supposed to try and attempt too pull myself off the hook. My friend quickly told me not to do that XD.
-
You think Bloodlodge is a pallet paradise now? Here is a video of the old bloodlodge. It was known as the defacto pallet city. Literally possible to mindlessly loop every single killer except the nurse because of the huge density of pallets.
-
I do to. I hope they keep doing them. I love the no bullshit formula. Tells us exactly what they are planning in a clear and concise manner.
-
This still happen way too often when you ever want to play as a Survivor (Forced to atm since Killer queues are 30 minutes long) and you always gets camped…
lol you think killers give a ######### about a meaningless emblem? Rank does not matter in this game. Any sensible player understands that depipping as killer = good. Making the emblems more punishing for camping does absolutely nothing. A better idea is dont give the killer a reason to camp. Dont bum rush the hooks, dont 3 gen yourself, if he is proxying then pressure gens. Give the killer a reason to leave. If the killer is camping to troll well your suggestion is still pointless because they dont care about rank if it meant something or not.

I have always run wake up. I still will but I do feel like I've suddenly have an unfair advantage of I'm using it now. It's no beuno. I hope they don't come out and say "if you've used wake up since the new update, you are banned" I don't play seriously anyway. Fix it queen
Given the fact they were banning players for using Legions double mend addons when they were broke i would not be surprised if they start handing out bans for ######### up wake up.
-
@Mister_xD said:
how does something like this even happen in the first place?
if im correct, this bug had not been present in the PTB, so what happened?
Spaghetti code is how. Its why every time the devs release an update it breaks a bunch of things that were previously functional. The game is a never ending bugfest because of it.
-
Same ######### different day. Always going to be those folks that have to sweat their asses off. Today i had an omegablink slug nurse that was absolutely relentless despite there being 3 - 4 point offerings + the event. Hardly anyone walked away with alot of points in that match compared to if it was just a normal game. Some people just play to ruin the event for others. Thats Dead by Daylight.
-
I agree the incoming nerfs are bullshit. I have been playing against Ghost face all day today and he seems fine to me. Scary, fun, threatening to play against. He is absolutely fine where he is at.

Some basic survivor and killer AI already exists judging by the tutorial. The thing is it would probably take away too much of their resources to develop a full AI so we're gonna have to deal with the lobby simulator. Maybe (and hopefully) they're gonna make it happen in a few years, though.
Imagine how awesome it would be if they could create an AI with the level of depth and behavior as the Xenomorph from Alien: Isolation.
-
If it runs til July then that is good to hear. Thank you all!
-
I like that it was lowered but currently i feel like they may have lowered it just a little to much. I try and play with my headphones at a reasonable sound level and in some cases i struggle to know if i am actually in a chase or not with all the other sounds going on in the game that are so much louder.
-
Well there technically is something similar to a storymode coming. As part of the year 3 promises for DBD the devs have said they plan to implement greatly enhanced storytelling features that feeds us with lots of lore on the characters and the realm of the entity.
-
I dont think it would be a good idea to lock your camera in place when working on a gen however i am onboard for perhaps making it so that you cannot rotate your camera 360 degrees while on a gen. Lock it at 180 degrees which essentially only allows you to look left or right but not directly behind you like an owl.
-
I have dropped selfcare almost entirely from my builds. Only time i run it now is in conjunction with botany knowledge. As a standalone perk i dont bother with it anymore. Wastes to much time when its easier to use Adrenaline and slam the gens. If i want self heals il just bring a medkit.
-
I made a mistake going for an associates degree in Criminal Justice and feel like i wasted 2 years of my life doing it. Wish i would have done Computer Network Administration from the start.
-
As a killer getting 25k points + all my bbq stacks. Dont care if the survivors escape or not i just want my time to be worth it.
Same goes for when i play survivor. I dont care if i live or die. If i can get all of my WGLF stacks + 20k - 25k points i am happy.
Points are all that matter to me. I will be pretty upset if i dont get enough points to make my time worth it.
