  • I am saving that screenshot. That looks awesome! It reminds me of retro games from the 90s.

Or maybe some maps dont need fixed, but promote a different playstyle.

Inifintes (legit ones) should be fixed, but changing the entire game map simply because it change the meta of survival and hunting tactics would be stupid. Every game wont go the same. And every map shouldnt play the same.

I disagree with your last statement. I think every map should play roughly the same. It should be the different killers that change the gameplay not the maps themselves. The maps should feel like a level playing field for both sides and as a place that can work with every killers power appropriately. As a matter of gameplay balance thats just my opinion.

  • When can we expect to see changes to address the ever increasing grind in the game?

  • id be fine with it provided people dont recklessly farm their team mates and as long as bbq gets the same buff. Juicy 200% BP would be nice.

Hillbilly needs a serious nerf, not buffs. lol

Leatherface needs a rework of some kind.

This is the only thing you need.

  • I agree that all offerings should be secret. They should only be visible after the trial has concluded. To many salty boi's that will DC in the load screen because of Mori, Map Offering, Mist, etc.

  • I like playing against The Legion. Reason being is his power encourages him to drop chases alot to chain hits. As a result i walk away from most Legion games with alot of bloodpoints which is all i really care about.

To play as is a bit hard to answer. I really like Billy Willy and Trappy Boi. Overall fun considered though i have alot of fun with The Clown. He is good at getting lots of points and i just love chucking bottles at survivors to slow them down. Its also satisfying using the bottles to outplay survivors at loops. He is mediocre in terms of strength but god is he fun to me.

  • Thats not toxic behavior. A killer may call it toxic because they are upset but that does not mean it is so. Using what is legitimately presented to you too survive is fine. However what is considered toxic is things like sand bagging team mates, working with the killer, using cheats, abusing exploits, trash talking in the end game chat, etc. If you are a player that does any of these things you are a walking aids infested tumor.

    Preach.

But seriously, the map design is horrendous in this game. Anyone who isn't biased can see that.

The devs need to revisit the more "balanced" maps and study all the details that made those maps more balanced.

100% agree. The OG maps like MacMillian and Autohaven are for the most part balanced. There can be some cheesy spots from time to time but i could play those maps all day long. Wreckers Yard yes please i love those maps as either side. But then you get maps like Badham and Haddonfun which are absolute aids and can be a ball ache for both sides.

In the rest of the maps the devs need to seriously look at how they design the main buildings. Alot of them are cancer with long loops and some are even literal infinites with balanced landing.

I hope they plan to go over every map with a fine tooth comb to make them more fun and fair. Fixing trouble spots.

  • I went through the same feelings that you are going through when i first started playing killer. Eventually you get used to it and become numb. How you feel about playing killer is going to be largely dependent on the attitude that you adopt. For starters i would suggest getting into the mindset that you cant win them all.

Everyone in DBD has bad games where you get absolutely obliterated. From new players to those with 6000 hours. Granted as you get better at the game and learn the ins and outs you reduce your rate of losing but it will still happen. How you deal with it is what matters.

In addition to accepting that you cant win them all if the survivors or killers are being toxic in the post game chat just ignore them. No matter how triggered that match may have made you do NOT interact. They are only looking for a rise out of you and feeding them will just sour your mood further. Just say gg and leave. Dont waste your time. Pick yourself up and move on.

All in all if you get to frustrated with the game i strongly recommend putting it down for a little bit and play something else. Its what i do when i get to fed up. After a couple days i am ready to jump back in.

Good luck and i hope you enjoy DBD for better or worse :3

  • No view to change. I agree and most reasonable people will agree aswell. During the stream they specifically talked about overly strong loops and how they wish to eliminate them in favor of more unsafe ones. I personally look forward to it as unsafe pallets are alot of fun to mind game and it will only be good for the game.

I always dreaded the experience where you are forced to run a loop with no mind game potential to force the survivor to drop the pallet asap and kill that loop. I am glad the devs take it seriously and are looking into it.

I didn't say I wanted anyone punished, I'm just annoyed that something thats already a problem is getting a buff (Mind you a minor one), while killers are still getting no recompense for having to play against it. Killers can't play with friends except in KYF, so why do survivors continue to get more and more and killers get nothing, not even a mention?

You need to stop using the word Buff because that is not what this is. A buff implies to make something more powerful which is not what this does. This is a simple QOL change within the User Interface to keep people from having to constantly reinvite their friends to a lobby. Its a UI improvement. Nothing more. Complaining about this in comparison to the wider SWF balance question is like comparing apples to oranges. Its irrelevant.

  • I am happy but overwhelmed they are committed to 4 new chapters. Happy because its more content for the game but overwhelmed as its going to add even more perks into the game and more characters to grind up. I cant keep up with it. They need to address this. Unless you play this game like a full time job it will take eons to get everything.

  • Do it for the lulz

  • Its not listed on there but i would love a crafting system/way to sell useless items and offerings.

  • Glad to see you are feeling better m8. DBD can be a frustrating experience sometimes and everyone gets upset from time to time. It happens. i hope you have a good day ^.^

  • I am slowly starting to move away from self care aswell. Ever since i got DBD back in September of 2017 selfcare has always been in my builds 99% of the time. Only recently have i uncovered the true glory of not healing. Just run Adrenaline and slam the gens as hard as you can. I also make it a point to run We'll Make It. Practically instaheal your team mates off the hook so you are ready to go. If you must heal yourself in a pinch you can always bring a medkit with you.

  • Sounds like you need to take a break from DBD for a few months. For the sake of your sanity you should uninstall the game and play something less frustrating for a bit.

  • Retarted troll post. Account made not 7 hours ago and first post is to bring back DS and how it was balanced. Get lost loser.

  • Did you just say a licker is not a killer?

    lickersurvivor.jpg

M8 this is a Licker. its sole biological function is to hunt and kill.

  • @Peanits said:

You can always open the gate yourself if you want to use it to your advantage. For example, if you have Blood Warden and the survivors are leaving the gates at 99%, you can always open a gate by yourself to force it to start. You actually have more control in that scenario than you used to.

Wait the killer can open the gates now? How do you do that? Do you just walk up to the switch panel and press a button and boom it opens?

  • Why would i as a killer main ######### on this thread? If anything i want that feng in my game. Please make my job easier and waste thy holy plywood so that i may kill you faster.

  • I agree Hex: Ruin is a boring perk. As a killer i hate feeling like i HAVE to run it because for one its a Hex but also it feels like a band aid to a much larger gameplay balance issue.

Unfortunately the reliance on Hex: Ruin is just a result of games going by too fast. At the high ranks where you encounter survivors that know how to do gens and not screw around if you dont bring ruin you are looking at 2 - 3 gens popped by your first hook.

Unless you play the Meta killers that can put down enough pressure in the early game you need Ruin.

I honestly wish the devs would rework the objective or make trials last a minimum amount of time so that everyone has a chance to earn lots of points and make the experience worth it.

  • I just want to chime in and say this really is the lesser of two evils right now. Sure the cosmetics are expensive but they are a necessary evil for BHVR. They could have easily put in pay to win mechanics where you purchase bloodpoints for money or allow loot boxes. We all know bloodpoint packages would sell like hot cakes given how grindy the game is yet they decided to run an ever expanding cosmetic store. I know which i would prefer.

  • Unfortunately its just the way it is. BHVR at the end of the day is a business and if they want to keep the lights on, pay their employees and continue work on DBD they need a reliable revenue stream to finance that.

  • You need to take the video down as it is against the rules here. Even if the people are scumbags that deserve to be named and shamed it is still a bannable offense. Take the video and file a support ticket here with it as evidence https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us BHVR will handle the rest.

  • i have experienced this bug before. Really frustrating. It ate my decked out commodious.

  • I faced a leatherdaddy that did this before. Met him multiple times aswell. He would carry one of us around on his shoulder and chase the others. Eventually everyone caught on what he was doing and we all had fun with it. Eventually everyone went for a ride on Daddy Bubbas shoulders.

  • @Arroz said:

I've never experienced this bug as survivor or killer so idk

I remember two specific instances for me. One was on Wretched Shop versus a Myers. I ran him in circles around the main building to the point he lost the game because the entity blocker did not show up. Then i infinite looped a poor wraith on Rotten Fields at the killer shack. The window would simply not block so he could do nothing but leave me.

  • I agree. I was playing survivor and in multiple cases i encountered the entity blocker not working. After my 5th window loop it became clear to me something was messed up. They have alot they need to fix right now.

  • Screenshot (47).png

One of the best games i had as the clown. It was a 4 man escape but i still managed to walk away with a ton of points, a pip and everyone had fun. A rare occurrence when 4 people escape but it was a gg.

  • DCes have gotten worse as of late aswell but not because of the players but a bug. Almost every other game i play i am disconnected from the game through no fault of my own. It will say the match has been cancelled because i have been disconnected from the host. I have seen this happen to other people aswell where the game just randomly boots you for no reason. Extremely frustrating for everyone.

  • Lerys with Boyfriends Memo and Scratched Mirror. It is honestly so fun. I love spoopy myers on that map.

  • @legion_main said:

@SadonicShadow so whats exactly different? Just being able to get points faster?

During the trial it makes reaching the 32k point cap easier. Instead of stunning a killer for 1000 bold it would now be 2000 bold. Finishing a gen is now 2500 objective vs the 1250 at base etc. Just makes it possible to get more points during the trial so that you can maximize the value of your offerings post trial.

  • @legion_main said:

see it sounds good on paper but if you think about it its a very bad idea

lets do a little math say 2 people bring in party streamers and someone brings WGLF and manages to stack it up to 4

the two party streamers would increase the max to 96000 and if they manage to get that much it would double to 128000 + another 128000 which is 256000 points not counting the WGLF stacks and if you add the WGLF stacks it would be another 192000 so 448000 points in total for just TWO party streamers which is already way too much for one game

The double bloodpoints during the trial can only be applied once. Bringing in multiple streamers will not allow triple or quadruple point generation. Nothings changed. The trial max is still 32k points which can be doubled or tripled post game with more streamers.

  • A crafting system or an option to sell items/offerings for 1/4 their purchase price would be pretty damn awesome. It would give me a way to dispose of junk i would never use.

Its worse for me since i'm actually trying to P3-50 him to just get him out of the way. And this made me realize how horrible he was to use.

Oh believe me i know how you feel. My Leather boi is p3 50 and that was an absolute slog. Normally i would just farm on my other killers for points but my leatherface had some survivor pudding i wanted to use up and i could not bring myself to waste them.

  • @Delfador said:

I don't want to talk from my killer experience but when I play survivor, leatherface is the easiest killer to go against.

In red ranks, it is already difficult enough to get the lunge attacks. A power like leatherface's chainsaw has so many downsides to be relevant at those ranks.

The brutal slowdown on his chainsaw plus with the charge action being cancelled despite the bar being full makes him such a headache to play. It actually works against you especially at high ranks. Only time i ever play leatherdaddy anymore is if i have a daily or i am drunk and want to be a mindless killer.

  • @Okapi said:

Leatherface and Trapper are the worst killers in the game. Freddy was not as bad as everyone thought. The memes got out of control. He's amazing at stalling if you play him using a hit&run strategy.

Trapper is no where near the worst killer in the game especially after his rework. Trappy Boi is solid mid tier and there is alot of strategy you can use with the Trapper if you know what you are doing.

  • I agree. Most killers have atleast SOMETHING going for them. Some strategy that you can employ around their power that gives them an advantage. Leatherface has nothing and its sad given his stature as a horror icon. The guy needs to be reworked completely. Mr Tum Tums deserves better.

  • The honest to god truth is that it gives me something to do and strive for. Even if it takes forever at the current rate. Gives me a sense of completion.

  • i 100% agree that the grind has gone wild. I came into DBD around September of 2017. Since then the amount of playable characters on both sides has roughly doubled. Even with the offerings, BBQ/WGLF, and double bloodpoint events you have to seriously no life this game like its a full time job to keep pace with the progression.

Something has got to give. I can understand the devs not wanting to significantly alter the bloodpoint economy as if they just increased the point generation across the board it could easily break the balance of item availability. The main issue is perks and the obscene amount of points it costs to first unlock them and then burn through bloodwebs to get all of them. It has only gotten worse as more characters are released. Not to mention it pollutes the bloodweb RNG making it more difficult to get the perks you really want first.

In my opinion they could do a couple of things to alleviate this.

    • Remove perk tiers - Seriously perk tiers are absolutely redundant and needlessly add to the grind.
    • Make it possible to purchase multiple perks in a single bloodweb - at 50k points per level 50 bloodweb i should be getting more for my money than a single tier of 1 perk.
    • Or we could remove perks from bloodweb RNG entirely and make them purchaseable with bloodpoints in a sort of ingame store similar to the shrine once you have unlocked the teachable.
  • At the hook. I usually run either botany knowledge or Will Make it most of the time so i get really frustrated when the person runs across half the map to heal in some random corner when it was clear the killer is elsewhere chasing someone else.

  • move it in a steady and consistent rhythm. On PC some people think you have to mash A and D as fast as possible. It makes no difference.

  • BBQ would be preferable over distressing as it would be 245% bloodpoints.

  • On the other hand having a straight Vanilla mode could very well boost the player base numbers for DBD. For the folks that either found SWF or various other perk and addon loudouts unfair this could be a means to bring back alot of players and attract new ones the want to enjoy a more level playing field on both sides. I dont think it would split the player base all that much. Playing with perks, items, addons, offerings for both killer and survivor is one of the major reasons to play the game at all and gives it alot of variety to the gameplay but having a Vanilla mode would be a nice alternative if one needs to take a break from the Meta.

  • Game numbers look fine to me. at 23k right now with a 25k peak over the last 24 hours. 20k - 25k is pretty much the norm.

  • @PyroGL said:

Tinkerer was changed to eliminate the extreme cases of stacking ability charge reduction time. Cases such as the trapper or hag placing traps and the wraith cloaking/decloaking have been buffed individually as their respective reworks take place. When it comes to Huntress and Billy, these were the intended cases that were meant to be eliminated, thus why their powers have not been buffed after the tinkerer change. I wouldn't get my hopes up for any additional changes buffing killer powers.

That was not the reason why the devs changed tinkerer. The devs changed tinkerer because it was a pain in the ass for them to program it too work with every killer. When the devs announced this change and their reasoning behind it i remember Mcclean specifically stated they wanted to buff charge times to compensate for the change to tinkerer.
