In my experience, it doesn't usually work. Someone will either figure out what you're doing or be that type of survivor who picks a gen and sticks with it no matter how many times you chase them away. Then one of them gets done, and you've wasted most of the game trying for a strategy that isn't viable anymore.
CoH has also become a problem for three-genning survivors, since they'll always run to the other side of the map and heal themselves after one hit.
All the best three-gens I've had have been accidents. You could probably pick a three-gen at the start of the game, find the weakest link in the survivor posse and tunnel them to death, and then go defend that three-gen if it's still alive. If not, somebody's still dead and you haven't wasted anything.

because lying is how you cause people to have an even bigger shitfit when they figure out its a lie
If the people complaining about this haven't been able to figure out that the game devs are implementing anti-cheating fixes unless they're explicitly told about them, what makes you think those people are going to take the time to go through the game code or the placebo anti-cheat software to see what it does and doesn't do and clearly articulate that in the form of a plausible argument that everyone can understand? Even if they could, who with the requisite knowledge would want to do that if it was in the game's best interest?
Everyone in this thread with an advanced working knowledge of x86 assembly and a free month to go through all of that (without joining the dark side and making a profit on cheats yourself, of course) plus the desire to do so just to potentially slightly undermine a game developer's attempt to be slightly dishonest to people who cheat at online games, raise a hand.
I think you're overestimating peoples' intelligence and level of motivation here. It could work.

I think it would be better if bhvr said nothing at all. I've worked in some crappy, dead end jobs. Whenever there was a serious problem and we brought it to management the response was always the same. "We'll look into it". When nothing got done it meant they didn't look or worse, they looked and deemed it not important enough. Which just made you feel like they didn't care about you. Then when you give them your 2 weeks notice they look at you like your the ######### for leaving.
The reason people keep running into cheaters is probably because every time BHVR patches a security hole, someone finds another one. That's how hacking works; it's a cat-and-mouse game. They could patch every known cheat immediately right now and there'd be a whole new collection to take their place within a month. I'd bet that some of the people developing these things are holding extra cheats in reserve for when their current ones get hotfixed so they still have something to sell.
I agree that there are probably some common sense things that BHVR could do that they apparently haven't done for whatever reason (like having the engine double-check that you're not doing something that should violate the physics of the game or using effects from a perk/addon you don't have or that shouldn't exist), but expecting no cheaters to exist at all probably unfortunately isn't reasonable.
@Nun_So_Vile said:
They won't even have to lie. BHVR can just announce a new skin, new killer/survivor, shirtless Myers, and it's back to a pretty good day at the office playing CS:GO.
Shirtless Myers is probably all we actually need to solve this problem, true.
-
Wait, no, I guess it wouldn't. I was under the impression that people were DDoSing other players' connections after the game, not during. Googled it.
-
@tippy2k2 said:
I don't think lying to everyone would work as it would be glaringly obvious BHVR has a cheating problem once you've played it for a bit after they "fix" it.
Also, I for one don't think people are "throwing temper tantrums" when hackers are taking games hostage, screwing up legit games with suble hacks, and if rumors are to be believed, able to DDOS players for trying to play the game that they spent money on. Is "I can't play the game because of hackers, BHVR should do...well... ANYTHING about it" a unreasonable request?
No. But when their answer is "we can't tell you", and you (maybe not you specifically, but someone) keeps whining about it anyway and saying (incorrectly) that nothing is bring done, BHVR might pull something out of their ass and feed it to you.
It would, obviously, have to be a halfway plausible lie. Maybe they include a new placebo anticheat program or something with their next update, and it looks like it's doing things. Or maybe they address real cheating problems in patch notes but just lie about how they implemented the fixes.
I don't think that the fact that cheaters still exist would do anything to discredit the lie, because cheaters are always going to find a new way to cheat, anyway, and changes are being made.
Also, wouldn't using dynamic IP work to bypass a DDoS attack? I don't know how DBD's matchmaking and whatnot works, but if they DDoS you by finding your IP address, you could just ask your service provider for a dynamic IP and then unplug the cord from the wall when someone tries to attack you, right?

Iirc it’s:
first dc: 5 min
second dc: 5 min
third dc: 15 min
fourth dc: 1 hour (or was it 30 min?)
and so on. Only got that far (actually til 24 hours( during a time when my game just crashed constantly…
it does reset after some time, so it would start at the beginning again. But as I said, how long you have to not dc is not officially revealed.
Ah. Yeah, I don't think I've ever disconnected more than twice in a day.

This could be what happened, Im not sure if i had a dc in less than 24 hrs but it makes sense.
thanks!
It might also be based on frequency of disconnects over a longer period of time somehow. I've DC'd twice in the span of a few hours and only gotten 5 min bans for it, but I don't do that nearly every day.

If you and your team decide not to run Decisive Strike, you and your team have decided to forfeit all matches where the killer is willing to pick up a recently hooked survivor.
Meh. It activates once per survivor per match, adds an extra 15 seconds before the next hook, and requires a difficult skill check to activate. It can be annoying when combined with BT, but BT is the one I'd rather not deal with if given a choice between the two.

Midwich is the best shift w map in game newer survivors just can't find gens and die alot. Lerrys shuts down half the killers powers due to all the windows and tight corners. DD is a good killer map because it's small and doesn't have a crazy number of safe loops but has a decent main building.
Well, yeah, I'd imagine that Lery's is annoying if you're playing a lot of Blight, Billy, or Nurse, but I mostly play basic M1 killers, so it's one of my favorite maps.
Had a Lery's game today using infinite T3 Michael and had a blast despite the larger terror radius and not even using M&R. Their problem wasn't that they couldn't find gens, it's that I wouldn't let them stay on them, and they took too long to decide to cleanse Ruin and Undying.
My memory might be flawed in this regard, but I feel like win most games on DD as both killer and survivor, so I don't know what side to take on that. But the fact that I'm always happy to see it no matter which side I'm playing as makes me feel like it's probably more or less balanced.

What I've discovered is that swf are much more efficient and better coordinated on cleansing totems, preventing NOED from even activating in the first place, and can let each other know where a totem is in the first place. Solos may turn tail and run but SWF can find the totem and the rescue their buddies, leading to a 4e rather than a 3e1k, for instance.
Cleansing totems to prevent NOED is a myth. I had that happen yesterday (was doing the Exposed Make Your Choice challenge, and it was probably obvious that I was running as many Exposed perks as possible), actually, but it's a rarity. "Doing bones" isn't efficient, and I think a lot of survivors are starting to realize that. More often than that, SWFs will have my NOED gone forty seconds after it spawns, as they were clearly memorizing the locations of my totems as they saw them (which is the way to do it).
When I run Pentimento, I'll occasionally see one solo guy running around cleansing every totem on the map, but almost never with SWFs, and not nearly as much as I would like.
What some SWFs will even do is just opt to power through Ruin instead of trying to cleanse it, which works well if I'm not on the ball that day. Which results in Undying still being active at the endgame, and they're in for a surprise when they think they've gotten NOED. Doesn't happen often, especially since I don't run that build as much, but it is fun when it does.

Let me start this off with saying that I am not trying to negate anyone's bad or good experience with the game. Be it on the killer or the survivor side. This is just about my own experience and just because I don't relate to a lot of the killer posts I see on here, doesn't mean others can't.
Now, back to what I came to say in the first place. I started playing the game a few years ago - and while I had some breaks in between for the first two years, I've been playing quite regularly since late spring 2021. Until a few months ago, about November 2021, I never dared to even consider playing killer.
Mainly because I read a lot of posts on here, telling me that I would be subject to relentless toxic behavior on the survivor part, and it would not be any fun, because there was no way I would ever be able to play against survivors that use Dead Hard and Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike [that last two don't really faze me, because I try to make a point in not tunneling, it's just not fun for me, thought I sometimes do it during endgame, if I have to]. So I never picked up a killer.
Someday I just decided to say ######### it and just go for it and lo and behold, I realized that I had a lot more fun playing killer compared to playing survivor - not saying I didn't have fun then as well, just not as much - and I noticed that it was a lot easier for me to rise in the ranks as killer. I don't really care about Bloodpoints, so I don't really care how high I get each month [around low glod ranks], and I'm not a very competitive person, so that could be why I am perfectly okay with getting an average of 2 - 3 kills a match. I mean, I main Legion... on purpose, I just run around and have fun.
I also haven't really come across any extremely toxic survivors since I picked up playing killer, sure there's been one or two people who, for a lack of better words, sucked, but in total, so far I had a great time playing killer. And I just want to let people, who are scared of playing killer as I was, know that it's really not all that bad. You can have a great time! [Also, ever since playing killer I became a better survivor as well - even though I hardly play as one anymore, so maybe you can pick up some tricks as well]
I think it's more fun/rewarding to play as killer, but it's also more stressful. As a survivor, as long as you aren't against a good Nurse/Blight at higher MMR, you can screw up for the duration of the entire game and still win/escape. As killer, the entire game is riding on you, and the competition is fierce, but there's nothing like the feeling of downing that last Dwight three meters from the hatch.
Legion is good if you know how to use her, but I think she's pretty perk-dependent to be competitive. She's one of my mains. I always run Ruin/Undying/Thanataphobia/Pentimento, a build that's only gained usefulness with the introduction of CoH, since survivors actually will want to heal against Legion if Thana is active with Ruin, but they often have to run halfway across the map to do it, resulting in extra slowdown, and Undying will always give you a hint where that goddamn witch is going to put her little blue annoyance next. Spread the damage out, M1 someone, activate Pentimento if there are any cleansed totems, rise and repeat. It's a lot of fun.

@GoodBoyKaru said:
As killer, it's probably Sprint Burst. Dead Hard pisses me off but Sprint Burst just stops me entering a chase to begin with and since I main no mobility ability killers it messes with me the most.
As survivor, NOED. It's a backwards perk, helping more vs solos than swf (in other words it'll help you when you don't need it) and teaches bad habits because if you keep using it eventually you'll begin to crutch on it and won't be able to play without it.
On the contrary, I've found that it does a lot more good against SWFs than solos. Sometimes NOED is the only reason I can get 3-4k against sweat squads. It's a gamble, because SWFs are more likely to find it right off the bat, but they're also more likely to be cocky about whatever they're attempting. NOED can screw them up postgame like nothing else if they're overconfident. Solos are more likely to turn tail and run once they realize you have it.
Totally agree about it building bad habits, though. That's why I begrudgingly had to stop running it on every killer - I realized a lot of my 4k games were a direct result of using it and that I had started to look forward to it so much that it made me lazy.
-
Some people have done the math, and you maybe might possibly get better item drops, but only at the rate of like three extra green items every 100 bloodwebs.
I do P3 my killer mains, and I'd like to have all killers P3d at some point for completion's sake. So far, I've done Michael, Ghostface, and Pig, with Clown and Spirit at P1.
-
lmfao. Yep, day before yesterday, the guy who inspired this thread gave me almost that exact same comment ("you really be out here running Lightborn") while running almost that exact same build.
He went and spent the entire game hiding in the basement once he realized I had it and tried to convince me in the endgame chat that it was the most epic troll ever despite him and his SWF buddy trying and failing to hit me with Head On repeatedly and then dying lonely deaths in the basement.
How's that build working out? Do you actually get any use out of Devour Hope without Undying?
@Steel_Eyed said:
I'm convinced Lightborn is a poor choice to bring for killers. I do not have problems with dodging flashlights though. I do have problems with ending chases, slowing generators, and needing more bloodpoints; so I prefer perks in those categories.
I'm not one of the people who can effortlessly evade every flashlight, admittedly. I mean, they're not a problem if I bother to pay attention, but survivors will run rings around me with them if I zone out while I'm playing.

The key phrase there is "depending on the situation"
Like many have said, the situation doesn't present itself often enough for me to consider using it.
I probably only use it one out of every hundred or so games, but I've started using it more the past few days, and the response I've gotten has been interesting. Some people get mad.

There is no expendable slot in killer perks, never.
There are enough good meta perks that even if the killer had ten perk slots, I'd have a hard time choosing, so I get what you mean, but some builds have one perk that's maybe less required for synergy. If I'm running the trusty ol' Nurse's/HG/Ruin/Undying and I see four flashlights in the lobby, do I absolutely HAVE to have both Nurse's and HG? I'm going to get more out of Lightborn in that situation.
@Kurri said:
If I see the survivors with 4 flashlights I take it, but that rarely happened at my level (as it was mostly toolboxes and maybe 1-2 flashlights). That's probably why everyone says it's bad. It's certainly a balanced perk and meant to counter specific scenario's like Franklin's, but useless if you use it in matches that has no flashlights/flashbangs.
A lot of killers just seem to think it's bad because they can easily, consistently ignore flashlights, but I get more out of it than some meta perks depending on the situation.
I think a lot of survivors hate it just because they don't like to come up against it.

The game was dark, mist offerings noticeably effected the appearance of the map, and hiding from the killer was actually possible and a viable strategy. It’s really funny because people on the forums these days are always writing topics about ‘gen rushing’. Well, now that all the maps are bright and every hiding place near most generators is gone, there are now killer perks that tell them exactly which gens survivors are on, and hardcore camping and tunneling... what else are survivors supposed to do?
A lot of players were obviously figuring the game out too, which is an element that can never really be brought back. And I don’t think there weren’t broken things back then (like instant gen pops with BNP and instant kill on first down moris), but overall it had this magical grasp on its players. I count myself one of the ones who had the chance to experience it.
My main survivor build is a stealth build, and I do just fine. Urban Evasion, Iron Will, Distortion, Spine Chill. I can't loop for #########, but I survive 80% of my games when I run that build. As a killer main, I would hate to see more survivors running those sorts of combos... I spend more time crouching around gens/walls/whatever than I do looping.
I don't know what the game was like before I started playing a year and a half ago, but stealth is still a viable strategy.
Yeah, from what I understand, "genrushing" doesn't have the same meaning that it had before toolboxes were nerfed. Moris are only useful for dailies and as counter to flashlights.
@ObservantOfTime said:
The "golden age" was before blight's time IMHO. The game has a serious problem retaining new players. For a game that's been going over 5 years, there' still no catch-up mechanic for new players to get on a level playing ground with those that have thousands of hours, every perk on every character and god knows how many items.
I don't even recommend this game to my friends anymore. Last time I did was 6 months ago, and my pal quit after 2 hours in. He's an awesome gamer, after grasping what's required to get the builds he wants and the way of getting there he uninstalled and I refunded him. We did play SWF, but there's only so much a Dwight with a single yellow useless perk can do during a match. Which is a shame, because he grasped the concepts pretty fast, it's just that he doesn't want to walk the trail of tears to get the perks he needs. In his words, "######### no".
To be fair, who wants to sit down and grind and grind and grind, all the while not even getting worthwhile rewards for the time invested, in matches that just suck the fun out of you? I don't mind the grind, as long as it's enjoyable, and that's a loaded qualifier. It's several orders of magnitude more enjoyable to me, who has everything, than to someone who's starting out with nothing. And unless there's a way to close that gap between old and new players somehow, I don't see much fresh blood sticking with the game. If you do, I salute you. Maybe I'm just jaded from all the time I've sunk into this game. Teachables need to go, buying a DLC needs to make those perks available immediately. You still have to find them in the bloodweb, but you no longer have to dump precious points into killers / survivors you're never going to play just for perks when you could really use those points to level a character you care about.
Here's another idea: A gamemode just like KYF, but with matches against randoms. A place for people to try out new killers / perks they don't have unlocked yet, can play outside of a ranked mode, and still earn some BP in the process. That would immediately improve the new player experience, because new players can try out whatever they want without worrying about miserly BP allocation, and get access to the content they paid for.
A lot of these are good points. It's not a forgiving game for new players. You're either going to die a lot or 0k a lot. It took months of regular play before I even felt comfortable.
The grind is bad, but there is a halfway good reason for it, and that's cheaters. It's a good thing that people who get permabanned for using hacks can't just buy another account and immediately be back to where they were, which frustrates cheating more than any number of technical measures that the devs do (or don't) put in place. That's the reason you can't buy bloodpoints, and it's a strong argument for leaving the grind where it is.
That is true.

Dead Dawg, Midwich, Lery's, Hawki- oh wait, nevermind.
I don't know if Dead Dawg is killer-sided, but I don't know if it's survivor-sided, either. It seems like a pretty balanced map.
Midwich and Lery's are killer-sided, and I would argue that Gideon's is still somewhat killer-sided even after the changes, on the basis of the fact that I win most of my games on that map as killer and lose most of them as survivor.

- As a consequence for bad map design, any killer that wants to be mid - high tier need some form of good antiloop
- The devs when changing a killer either nerfing them to bottom tier (slinger) or doing barely anything (trapper) - Spirit being one of the few exceptions
- W key meta being the most boring thing to be put in a videogame
- Trying to get 70% of the playerbase to play someone else other than blight/huntress is gonna be like trying to stop a crack addict doing, well, crack.
- Slow progress of updates
- The dude who's supposed to know how our matchmaking system works inside out doesn't even know what a "skilled play" is
- Absolute stubborness to go back on changes everyone agrees were bad/needed further work (billy, slinger)
- Even more issues (grind, new player expense, etc)

Compared to most new games it's quite cheap. £45 is a lot less than the Call Of Dutys that cost £65.
I think your risking spoilers but fair enough 👍
Yeah, but I'm a broke-ass schizo with no cash.
I can't last a job more than a week, I can't convince the SSI people that I'm too disabled to work because I can string a sentence together much of the time, and I can't spend food stamps on video games (assuming I didn't always run out halfway through the month, anyway). I can make a small amount of money if I try, but even $20 is a fortune.
Having completely switched to Linux has had the side effect that I've started buying most of my games instead of pirating them, because the update support is better, and Steam's prices are so low during sales that it's actually an attractive option, but the fact of the matter is I still haven't even finished the original DS trilogy yet. Hell, I've been playing Skyrim for a decade, and I don't think I've even completed the main quest yet (mostly in it for the mods).
What the hell do people do to make money?

BHVR has announced they have something coming to change camping mechanics. Everyone says "just do gens" but forget that you have a 10 minute que time and can easily be the unlucky bastard that gets facecamped 3/4/5/6/7 times in a row. Next thing you know you've wasted an hour and a half and only got 8 minutes of gameplay, most of which was on a hook while your team crouch walks across the map. It's frustrating and your feelings are valid, mate. Don't let these asshats make you feel like YOU are doing something wrong.
Okay, but if you got facecamped to death 7 times in a row immediately after starting, it probably is something you're doing.
When I haven't played survivor for a while, I've had to relearn that what you don't do at the start of the match is dash out into the center of the map shitting scratch marks everywhere and then immediately start doing a gen. A few seconds of stealthy patience will lead to longer games.

DS: Requires you to not pick up the survivor who was pulled off the hook the past 60 seconds, as long as they haven't done anything to progress survivor states.
BT: Requires you to either not be at the hook during an unhook, or simply not hit the unhooked target for 8 seconds.
DH: Can be uncounterable, so to what degree do you need to 'expect or respect' this perk?
UB: Just pick them up.
DS + UB: Leave them slugged and let them burn their one shot at UB, or let DS time out. Either way, they're on the ground for an extended period of time and cannot help their team.
NOED: Find and cleanse all five totems and hope the killer has NOED. Failure to clear even a single totem means all effort wasn't just wasted, it was actively detrimental to the survivors' chances of escape.
Seriously, DS is the perk with the most light-weight counterplay in the entire game, and you're trying to compare it to NOED, which has by far the most overweight counterplay in the entire game.
I agree that (new) DS isn't anything to complain about, but NOED has the same counter that DS and BT have: just walk away and go do something else (either leave or go look for the totem). NOED doesn't do anything if you don't engage the killer unless you were the one unlucky survivor who happened to be standing right in front of the killer when the last gen popped (and then it's not any more uncounterable than DH, and only once as opposed to four times).
I ran NOED in one game today, and it was gone after I downed one survivor (who was already injured), so doing bones is a bad strat, but it's not like NOED is permanent once it's up.
Survivors just hate NOED because they expect to play like trash during the EGC and keep their win.

And now maybe with some context, please?
Region, platform, crossplay on/off, time of day you play?
Arguments like " but my queue time..." Without context are not comparable, useless and as empty as "Nuh uh, for me it's different because I say so".
At some point i am just tired of having to tell this again and again in every queue time discussion.
Edit: i forgot to add @hailxsatanxeveryxday since your argument is the same in this context.
If you read my comments, I did actually mention that survivor queues are much more reasonable for me during the day, but if you want me to be more specific, I play either on Stadia or PC (there's cross-progression between the two) with crossplay enabled, and I'm in Colorado.
Killer games are usually instant for me regardless of the time of day unless a new killer was just released in the past week, in which case queues can be insane. I do notice that there can be a two minute wait time sometimes during the day, but at night, I'm in a lobby in a matter of seconds.
Survivor games are still not as quick as killer games during daylight hours (which are a matter of seconds), but they're usually less than five minutes. After nightfall, they take much longer, and in the witching hours, I'd better be in the mood for a killer game, because it's not unusual for me to get through half an episode of Supernatural waiting for a survivor lobby.
While we're on the subject, I don't know why the hell I watch that show. I'm halfway into the second season, and I ######### hate the main characters, and the writing leaves much to be desired, but I'm hooked.

Really, how is it any different? In both cases it's someone throwing a fit because they don't like what their opponent did.
It's not any different. They play dirty, and they get a dirty response. What I don't understand is why you think I'm wrong for answering scummy game tactics with scummy game tactics.

you so so wish queues were anything but instant for most people. i can't even do my bloodweb
I don't "so, so wish" anything. I play survivor, too, almost as much as killer, and I have to make sure I have Netflix up on my tablet for the lobby.
Sometimes the queue is instant (especially during the day), but other times I have to wait 10-20 minutes between matches. I'm not really a big fan of that.
Queues are almost always instant for killer, though, unless a new killer was just released the day before.

So you wouldn’t facecamp and tunnel if the survivor pre-loaded a flashlight you won’t know about until the match is loading? Even though the result is the same as last second switching?
Pre-loaded a flashlight? What's that supposed to mean?
If someone switched to a flashlight with 40 seconds left, fine; I won't target them unless they're being obnoxious. I don't know what you mean by "pre-loaded a flashlight you won't know about". I'm really only going after someone if they switched to it in the last 5-10 seconds of the lobby and it looks like they were doing their best to catch me off-guard.

I think the better option is have everyone in your group play flashlights, then switch to toolboxes at the last second.

I didn't say tunneling/camping is toxic
I said OP's mindset of being angry at survivors doing stuff in the game that the devs haven't said is an exploit.
It comes off as whiny and entitled.
(Flashlights aren't even that hard to counter)
What point are you trying to make, then? Are camping/tunneling toxic, or aren't they? Why should a survivor be angry with me for doing something that the devs have explicitly said isn't an exploit?
What do you think that I think that I'm "entitled" to?
@thrawn3054 said:

You have no idea why they switched to a flashlight. For the sake of argument though, let's say they did it so you couldn't try to counter it. So what? They have no idea what they are facing. Why should they freely advertise to you what they're doing?
There is no reason why they should freely advertise anything to me or make the game easier for me in any way. They can do what they want.
...And so can I. Right?
@JoByDaylight said:
Is this chapter one of the Killer rule book?
Nope. No rules. Survivors are perfectly free to switch to a flashlight at the last second in the lobby, just as they are perfectly free to enjoy the view of my face from the hook.
I mean, you're perfectly free to run to the second story of your house and jump out a window. There's no rule against that. I still highly recommend against trying it, because even though there's no rule that says you can't, that doesn't mean you shouldn't consider the potential consequences of your actions. Certain actions can lead to pain.

Exactly this. Perhaps base game DbD would benefit to switch to the mobile lobby. Once all five players are found, match starts in five seconds. Neither side can switch anything. I don’t like every aspect of it, but it’s better than all the lobby dodging and crying we have to deal with now in the base game.
I have no problem with this idea.
@Nicholas said:
Just loading into a lobby will get you tunneled and camped. Players are so fickle. Bring X perk or item, wear a certain outfit, play a certain character, successfully stun, cleanse a hex, and many more are all reasons people use to justify their tactics.
The only perk I'll target someone for is CoH, just because it makes the game exponentially easier if that survivor dies. I won't target someone because they stun me, but I might if they flash a flashlight in my face at every pallet and/or keep screwing up my hooks.
I don't usually target people for cleansing hexes, but if I run a hex-heavy build, and they're all gone in less than a minute, sometimes I experience that weird game-crashing bug I've seen some people here talk about. Awful thing, that.
-
@Aurelle said:
As much as I hate flashlights, that's no reason to camp or tunnel, unless they are being annoying with it. (Flashlight clicking, for example)
I'm not going to camp or tunnel someone just for running a flashlight. But if someone switches to one with five seconds left before the match starts specifically so I can't counter it with a perk (whether or not I even wanted to), it tells me they're trying to pull one over on me, and manners go out the window for the duration of that game.
(I will tunnel someone if all four of them are running flashlights and meta perks trying to mess up every save, but that's more for tactical reasons than me being mad about it.)
-
@Veinslay said:
Your game could always crash when that happens. Sometimes my game does that
Yeah, but it wastes more of the guilty survivor's time if you just camp them, and then they still get to go to a twenty minute queue afterwards. Plus it's rewarding, and all the survivors who escape afterwards still feel like they get something out of it.

It's not the losing that bothers me, it's a killer essentially ruining the game for a player(s) by taking them out of the game at the start and essentially wasting that persons time. Game are supposed to be fun aren't they?
Yes. And it's no fun when you come up against a bodyblocking CoH clicky-clicky flashlight squad and don't even get a single kill because you decided to abandon a strategy that might actually help you win.
Killers tunnel because it works. If you're encountering a lot of tunnelers, it might mean you're moving up in MMR.
I had a game today against an SWF team running all meta perks, purposely didn't tunnel, and lost despite playing relatively well (got a pip and one kill - which I wouldn't have gotten if it weren't for Lightborn). I realized I should have just tunneled, so I started doing that, and I've been winning again.
If you don't take someone out of the game early, you don't stand a chance against good survivors. It's that simple.
@Nicholas said:
Killers camp and tunnel even before anything happens, so the excuse that it is a byproduct of gen rushing is hogwash. Tunneling is a core part of the Dead by Daylight Survivor experience. You are periodically guaranteed to get tunneled independent of what you do or what is happening. I've seen it all; The Killer tunnels after a DC and before the completion of a single generator.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2820554#Comment_2820554
Of course, someone will finish that generator because the investment can regress to zero. If the generator stayed locked at 90%, people wouldn't rush to finish it. On the other hand, a killer's investment in that Survivor doesn't regress because they don't get hooked again fast enough.
Well, the point of tunneling, IMO, is to take a survivor out of the game as early as possible. That's the whole idea, so of course you do it early game if you're going to do it at all.
By the time genrushing has started happening, it's already too late, and you can't tell at the beginning of the game whether you're up against a bunch of Brown-tier solo n00bs or a SWF bully sweat squad. You either take the lead as early as possible, or you gamble on playing an unwinnable game.

@illusion said:
Of all of the absolutely terrible killer perks, that is the one you have a problem with? It provides benefit, which puts well above the majority of killer perks. It slows the beginning part of the game down for survivors, while they have to run to gens further away. Plus, the killer knows they don't have to head to those gens and can head to closer gens, likely leading to earlier chases, and possibly downs.
If I see Corrupt at the beginning of the game, I hide in a corner until it finishes to counter this exactly. If everyone does that, then it offers no benefit to the killer at all unless they were running Lethal. I thought that was the proper way to counter it.
-
There should be a mandatory 30-second Mori-style death animation that plays on every player's screen showing the head of the survivor who failed a skill check exploding and spraying a hundred gallons of blood on the ground around her, and if you disconnect during the animation, you get an automatic 30-day ban.
Everyone else repairing the same generator would then go into the dying state while any other survivors within 32m of the gen would lose a health state, and then the killer sees the aura of all survivors for 30 seconds.
Then maybe people would pay attention when they're repairing a gen.
-
I liked it. You can read my long, rambling review of it in a thread I started in the off-topic section, so I won't rehash that here.

The new one is trying so hard to be 2018 Halloween it hurts. No idea why, the 2013 3D TCM already did it a far better than the new TCM
I mean, yeah, it was ripping off Halloween 2018 pretty hard, but it had halfway interesting characters and visual appeal.
Ugh, I couldn't stand the 2013 movie. It was the most formulaic TCM in the entire series... which would have been at least watchable for the gore, but that ######### ending. That ######### ending. The scene with the big twist is one of the worst in mainstream horror, right up there with Michael duking it out in a martial arts battle with Busta Rhymes in Resurrection.

Yeah the attempt to try and bring back the original last girl as a sort of hardened survivor ala Laurie Strode was a bit weak. It wasn't given enough air time to make it even remotely meaningful.
It had its moments but wasn't anything grand, I still kinda enjoyed it though even if it gets progressively more rediculous as it goes on, why there is a lake of water under the cinema lost me but it ended on a high note that made me think better of it than if they hadn't finished it off like that.
That's a good point. Also, they wouldn't have been able to get beneath the cinema in the first place, because the ground is so hard in Texas that they can't even drill into it to make basements. (Well, you can with the right equipment, but it's ridiculously expensive, and almost no one does it, businesses included.)

I just watched 2003 on Netflix. I did see it way back but honestly I was not feeling it.
This one had tons of "dumb horror movie decisions" that just went over the top. Jessica Biel being clueless that the loud sound she just heard was her boyfriend being murdered while she stays in a bathroom to get molested by the epitome of a creepy ass old man had my eyes rolling into the back of my head.
That made me realize I appreciated how 2022 didn't have NEARLY as much of that as older horror movies do. You could debate the girl hunting Leatherface instead of leaving was pretty stupid but at least it wasn't presented as them being totally dumb it at least had logic behind it. Is already haunted by the shooting. Will now he haunted by Leather being out there.
It would've taken me 4 seconds to realize there is something WAY OFF about this cop BEFORE he even showed up. The fact they didn't want to leave the body was so absurd and dumb. Where did she have that gun anyways? Did she literally have a gun UP there?
Yes, the gun was in her vagina.
Well, yeah, but I don't go into a slasher movie expecting everyone to be a bunch of rocket scientists. I don't think they behaved that much dumber than actual teenagers might under similar circumstances.
The sheriff was one of the best parts of the film, IMO. Probably even better than Leatherface. He genuinely manages to be unsettling. Amazing actor. And yeah, I'm sure he seemed off to everyone in the movie, but I got the feeling that they knew it might be a bad idea to upset an armed, unstable redneck sheriff in the middle of nowhere, so they were trying to be amicable.
I would have voted to put the body somewhere and thank my lucky stars that there wouldn't be a formal investigation just so I could go back and get the pinata full of ganja, but I can see people who are more invested in the system refusing to leave it. Some people are just really... unable to think for themselves.
I agree that there were a lot of slasher film cliches, but it's one of the better 2000s remakes.

Probably gonna suck like 90% of Texas Chainsaw films.
By all accounts, the 1994 film was pretty bad (only one I haven't watched), and the 2013 one was indeed horrible (it was just mediocre until the twist, at which point my eyes were rolling so hard I'm surprised I didn't rupture a cornea).
1974 one was amazing (I'd forgotten how creepy it actually manages to be). 1986 film was also pretty good, albeit in a different way (funny rather than scary). 1990 film was all right (I remember thinking it was okay, but I don't otherwise remember much about it - at least I'm sure it didn't suck). Few people argue that the 2003 and 2006 films are badly made; the primary complaint with those is that they're nihilistic and disgusting, but that's how I like my movies. Newest film was fun.
I finally brought myself to watch the 2017 film yesterday, and as someone who spent some time in a Texas mental institution as a teen, it made me downright giddy to watch. It doesn't feel like a TCM film, but it's an interesting one in its own right. Very NBK, Devil's Rejects kinda feel.
By my calculations, then, only 22% of the movies actually sucked. Which ones didn't you like?

Well, we did see one of his family members, but now that you mention it, it is strange that the ranger was focused squarely on Leatherface when there were at least four of them involved in the original event. I do wish they would have explained more about what happened to all of them.

obviously spoilers in this
It made me want to watch 2003 and 2006 again since those just got added to Netflix. The 2013 one is being added March 1st
Weird how I didn't realize this movie gets made so often? I mean we just had the 2017 one as well.
This one was solid. As soon as I heard the dialogue in the start I was like oh here we effing go. Just what I want in a Leatherface movie is preachy BS. But I was surprised later on.
I wasn't made they totally ripped off Halloween. But yeah I wasn't entirely sure how it should've gone down having her die like that seemed kinda off?
I tend to nitpick things that don't matter but I love when a movie tries to explain something the viewer would think about. I thought it kinda ridiculous she was a Texas Ranger for like 40 years looking for Leatherface and never found him. How exactly did that work out?
I liked how this movie had yet another NOD to the "door slam scene" but it like did it in its own way and wasn't trying to copy it. I also thought the end autopilot thing mirroring the end from the first movie was hilariously clever.
Yeah, but make sure you watch the uncut version of the 2006 film. Netflix doesn't carry it.
I think the 1974, 2003, 2017, and 2022 films were all rated R without needing to be cut, while the 1990, 2006, and 2013 films were all rated X/NC-17 in their original versions and had to be cut to get an R rating; HBO Max includes the uncensored versions when they have the movies, but Netflix doesn't. (1986 film released unrated to begin with because they knew it'd get an X.)
Anyways, I just rewatched the 2003 film, and I think I might like it better than the newest one, but just barely. I also really like the 2006 film, but that one crosses the line into outright torture porn. It's not a movie you watch for the suspense, it's one that you watch because you want to see humans get horrifically tortured and mutilated for two hours. That was the "in" thing in mainstream horror at the time, and I loved a lot of those types of movies, but they're not for everyone.
Yeah, the dialogue in the first few minutes of the new film did make me worry that we were going to get the snot-nosed San Francisco take on Texans. As someone who lived in Texas for a while as a kid, I'm well aware that the state is full of some ######### weirdos, but I also feel like the state and its people get an unfair portrayal in a lot of pop culture. It's not fair to caricature the state as a bunch of gun-toting loonies while glossing over the positive aspects of the state and its people (and there are some). Our gun-toting Texan ended up feeling like the real deal, not a Hollywood stereotype.
Well, it is obvious that the entire movie was inspired by Halloween 2018, from the title to the requel status in the film chronology to the subplot about her, but that wasn't what bothered me. I just felt like they handled her story badly. I'm not even sure what I ultimately wanted, because as soon as she showed up, I found myself saying that "it sure will be cheesy if she ends up killing Leatherface" and "it would be a nice change if Leatherface killed her instead, just because we aren't expecting it". I ended up cheering for her to die, and then it felt unsatisfying when it happened (it didn't help that her last few words were both cheesier than mozzarella and unforgivably bad advice to be giving a teenage girl in a life-or-death situation). I don't think I would have been any happier if she would have lived. I don't know what I want.
I also agree that her backstory was stupid. I can believe that she never found him, but what I can't believe is that the police would let am obviously unstable and vengeful massacre survivor join the force for the sole purpose of spending all her time and the public's resources finding someone who victimized her all those years ago. Would they really give a psychotic a paycheck and a bunch of guns to go on a wild goose chase for 40 years? I mean, I realize that America has problems with its police, but damn.
-
Considering how much I loved Rob Zombie's? Yeah.
Some of the Halloween movies are better than the others, but the only one I won't watch at all anymore is Resurrection.
-
Yes.
It looks like a lot of people thinks she needs a buff, but I like her aesthetic a lot. I remember watching the English-language version of the movie as a kid, and I'll try to read the translated novels this month.
I'm looking forward to combining Brine with Pop since Ruin and Undying get done in under a minute some games now that I'm in high MMR, and Merciless Storm is bound to be hilarious on Impossible Skill Check Doctor.

Power struggle to be a pallet god.
When i play survivor i run No Mither, Prove Thyself, Resilience and Street Wise. I usually carry a purple toolbox ang gen rux the middle generator. If i am playing with a friend, he usually is the guy running Prove Thyself so I switch it with Built to Last/ Dead Hard/ Spine Chill.
This is my secondary build, except I run Spine Chill instead of No Mither, the reason being that it gives you an extra 10% boost if the killer is looking in your direction (this can actually be useful if someone is looping a killer around a neaby gen or if you have ten seconds left on a gen when a killer starts coming your way), plus you know when to get the ######### out the way when it stays lit for more than a second (which helps a lot when you're playing most of the game injured). It's not exactly hard to get injured to trigger Resilience, and that way you can heal after the last gen and blast past the killer toward the open exit gates.
My primary survivor build is Distortion, Spine Chill, Iron Will, and Urban Evasion with a Medkit or a Toolbox with repair addons. Killer ain't finding me. I sometimes go entire games without getting touched.

I swear in a decent amount of my games a lot of these PC killers use slight speed hacks. Either it's that or for whatever reason the speeds of killers just seem extremely inconsistent. One game I can run an Oni on a loop easily and then the next game on the same loop a Myers just seems to speed around it like crazy. Does anyone else have this problem of killers not having consistent speeds or are there just a decent amount of actual hackers that give themself like 5% extra speed?
Mikey just feels faster because he has low/no terror radius, certain addons let him see through walls (and thus know which direction you're going in a loop), and one of his perks can give up to a 15% speed boost on top of the 15% bloodlust. I've seen plenty of people on the forums here say, "I can never seem to outrun Myers".

Not directed a me, but I'll take a shot at some I would rather see:
Not likely for legal reasons, but have to get it out of the way because he is THE remaining killer that should be in the game - Jason Voorhees
The Xenomorph (Alien)
Pennywise
Candyman
The Thing
Dracula (or similar vampire variant)
Kayoko (Ju-on, but probably not now as three J-Horror ghost-type killers will be enough)
A Western mythology demon
Valak (The Nun, or another from the Conjuring tree)
Pumpkinhead (anyone remember that?)
The Fly or some manner of insect/humanoid hybrid
If we making a non-addition wish list, a proper overhaul of Ghostface to bring him in line with the movies (Billy/Stu), along with survivors. And an overhaul of Myers to make him into what he should be (not a low tier-killer).
Dracula and Pennywise are must-haves for the game eventually.
I'm actually reading Who Goes There? (the novel that The Thing was based on) right now. It'd only work if the killer could duplicate one of the survivors somehow, which would have to be thought out a good deal, but it'd make for some genuinely scary games if they managed it.

You know what else would be a waste?
Anything other than fnaf I'm not saying that to be a dick or to be a fanboy I'm saying that cause its true if the anniversary isn't fnaf there's gonna be a out cry and it will be a 1000 times worse than the Hellraiser outcry look fnaf isn't the only license in the game I want alien I want predator I want Jurassic park/world and the constant bullying us fnaf fans receive is outright ridiculous I'm allowed to want a license if you ask me pennywise doesn't make since for the next chapter we are already getting a movie license with the ring so another movie license doesn't make sense to me fnafs target audience isn't children fnaf is a dark story with a confusing lore plus I don't think pennywise is coming simply because Steven said no to behavior already why would he change his mind now? look I understand you don't know much about fnaf and that's okay so please educate your self on it also for some little background info I'm fine with pennywise in the game I just think Steven king is being stubborn and said no
I mean, if the anniversary isn't FNAF, there'll be an "outcry" from the five or six people who keep shilling it on the forums incessantly, and if they do add FNAF for the anniversary, the five or six people who keep attacking FNAF for being a franchise run by anti-LGBT conservative Christians will be equally loud. I don't think BHVR has a winning option there, y'know?
I mean, I don't really care one way or the other whether or not Springtrick or whoever gets added to the game, but I can think of about a hundred characters off the top of my head that I would go for first if I was supreme emperor of BHVR.
Maybe if people keep complaining enough, they'll add it, but I wouldn't expect it for the anniversary. FNAF isn't exactly Resident Evil, Silent Hill, or Scream.
There's also always the possibility that FNAF doesn't want anything to do with DBD. The creator of FNAF made almost exclusively Christian games before that, and, from what little I understand, he keeps his horror games pretty G-rated. DBD is an M-rated game with gore, swearing, and a reputation for a toxic community. I don't know what country you're from, but in the U.S., a simple "damn" or "hell" is enough to scare most Christian media creators away. (They're a little bit more liberal when it comes to violence, but not to the point of slasher movie gore.)
I also hear the argument that FNAF doesn't feel right for DBD, but they did add a dorky purple-haired anime killer last year, so I guess anything is possible. (If there's any way we can trade Trickster for FNAF, I'm all for it.)

So, I'm going to lay out my own position first so nobody's engaging under false pretences- while I don't think NOED is necessarily "fine", I think that it is by no means OP, unfair, or unhealthy. I think it's a mediocre, inconsistent perk that provides very little value at a point in the game where you're running up against the clock to actually use that value.
But... that is not the overriding opinion of the community. The community seems pretty split, and a lot of people seem to think NOED is unfair and/or unhealthy. I've never seen a good argument as to why, so that's what I'm asking for here! If you think NOED is unfair, unhealthy, or OP, tell me why!
Specifically I'm looking for a little more detail- I've seen people say, for instance, that NOED "gives unearned kills" or "rewards bad play", but never any explanation of why they think it does either of those. I do genuinely want to know the reasons behind thinking this way, this isn't a bad faith gesture, but I also will probably prod you for a little more explanation if something doesn't seem to make sense.
Let's try and keep it civil, though! No sense chiming in just to state that you don't think NOED is an unhealthy perk.
I think that what people are really angry about is the fact that NOED actually punishes bad play more than it "rewards" it.
The only people who get killed when NOED is in play are the ones who got cocky because they knocked out all five gens with no deaths and then throw themselves at the hook during the endgame.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: NOED is an opt-in perk. Yeah, you might get instadowned if you're directly in front of a killer when the last gen pops, but if your team gets 4K'd during the EGC, it's your own damn fault.
Sometimes people think they've got the game in the bag because they did all the gens in six minutes with their BNP squad, so they get overconfident and play badly during the endgame going for saves that they shouldn't attempt because they've convinced themselves that they've already won. And then they die. And that makes them mad.
NOED punishes survivor stupidity. Walking away is always an option.

most fnaf fans now are in their early to mid teens as i understand it. i'd rather it just get added so people can stop requesting it, the initial influx of annoying zoomers will settle on its own
My only issue with FNAF is that there are just too many other things I want to see added to the game. We don't even have Chucky or Pennywise, which seem like they should be major contenders for an anniversary chapter. And if we're going to go with something that's a little less mainstream, I'd like to see Art the Clown or Sam from Trick 'r Treat. Any time spent on a FNAF chapter is time not being spent on developing something that's actually good.
I think I have some of the FNAF novels on my hard drive somewhere, so maybe I'll give those a try.

(Honestly, I don't know anything about FNAF, and I'm only ripping on it because I'm tired of hearing about it every other thread.)

I never thought I'd say this.. but here I am saying it.
Now a part of me recognizing that that type of style of play is a style of play and legit. "Legit" as in not breaking any rules. Fair enough. That being said...
I think it's come to a point where a mechanism needs to put in place for campers. The past few weeks at least 8 of 10 games is a camper. It would be okay if you were playing with friends that cared to risk getting you off a hook but as solo - no one cares. You're hooked - you might as well suicide and move to the next game.
It's made it not a game really. Not fun for the players.
I know this won't be considered but I'm saying it anyway. Perhaps consider something like you have for the cage. If they stay around the hook to long - it moves.
If this keeps up I think you'll find more and more people won't be bothered to play because quite frankly - they can't actual play.
The mechanism is called "just do gens". I was facing a camping Huntress today who spent the first half of the match hooking survivors over and over again in one area of the map because we were stupid enough to keep unhooking each other, and then she stopped camping as soon as I stopped playing her game and popped a gen on the other side of the map. (We still lost.)
If you suicide on the hook, you reward the camper. You doom your teammates. Camper gets an easy win and then decides that the strategy is working and that he might as well do it every game.

I'd have to look for the tweet but i think mathew cote responded to someone about the 6th anniversary saying he hopes there will be balloon animals. This may or may not be a clue. Some think it may be a reference to birthday parties such as the ones in Five Nights at Freddy's. That is a long shot though.
Clowns make balloon animals.
Possibly Pennywise?
I'd also like to see Art the Clown make the cut at some point, but anniversaries usually feature big licenses, don't they? So if it's a clown, it'd have to be the biggest, baddest clown on the block, and only one fits the bill.
I can already hear the FNAF fans crying ("BuT wE aLrEaDy HaVe A cLoWn KiLlEr"), but I hope I'm right.
Also hope we get Skarsgard's version instead of Curry's, but I'll take what I can get.

Understandable but is the license possible? forgive if me if I'm being rude
No. DBD isn't appropriate for FNAF's target audience (children).

He's objectively among the bottom 5. You can do well with him but you can do well with a 0 perk blight, too, if you get bad survivors. Myers is bad, and I don't believe anyone who mains him really has much more authority than the 500+ streamers with tens of thousands of hours who feel he also sucks.
No. Objectively, he's in the top 10. Number 9, to be exact, according to DBD's latest killer statistics. He has a kill rate higher than Doctor, Spirit, or Oni.
People who say he sucks aren't playing him right. Even Otz seems to think that Tombstone Piece is his best addon, but I'm telling you, it's Vanity Mirror. I'm getting kill rates a lot higher than 57%.
Otz also rated Freddy as D-tier in his latest list, despite Freddy having the third highest kill rate. I'm not saying some of these streamers aren't good players, but they're out of touch with the parts of the game they don't have as much experience with, and they let their emotions guide them. None of them have even given VM a try.

@hailxsatanxeveryxday Michael has several good addons. Tombstone Piece is just broken and unhealthy though. Plus, let's be real, nearly every Michael runs a stalking speed addon. As for Judith's Tombstone, yeah it's basically useless and flat out needs a rework.
Well, it depends on the build, but yeah, most do. I've stopped since the VM buff, though. MV + DR is what I run every game if I have them. I'll run a Memorial and a Hair Bow for a few quick BBQ rounds if I need to build up the bloodpoints to buy more. Stalk has become less important now that I only ever have to make it to T2.
I disagree with you on Tombstone Piece. It's a moderately powerful addon, but it's also very cumbersome to use. I can understand it being annoying to the one survivor who happens to get mauled by it the first time they see Michael, but it's not an overpowered addon in the overall context of the match. It's a gamble that doesn't always pay off, and you have to work for it. I don't use it enough to be seriously annoyed if they nerfed it, but I think it's unnecessary and a bad decision.

You even voted "no" on it being offensive despite black people being offended by it, but sure punish people for spamming the ctrl button because it's 'annoying'.
Bubba's addon had nothing to do with blackface. I'm not against that mask being removed, but the (admittedly good) reason it was removed had nothing do with with offensive minstrel show makeup from the early 1900s, and I'm tired of hearing people compare the two; it's ridiculous. Bubba is just an evil character who wears other people's faces, and it would have been racist to not include Black people in that. (And BHVR didn't choose to exclude Black people; they just removed all the masks.)
This might sound strange, but Black people are not a singular entity with one unified opinion on everything. Most were probably not offended by the mask until people started abusing it a certain way.
I also think that it's strange that certain people seem more offended by an imaginary connection to a culturally offensive form of art from more than a hundred years ago than the fact that Bubba is based off of a real serial killer who actually did murder people and wear their skin as a mask. Those masks are a mockery of actual crimes and violent deaths that occurred in the real world. I'm not saying that basing a fictional character off of real-life crime is wrong, it's just... damn. Some people's priorities are awfully strange.

It's too bad vanity mirror doesn't really make him any better as you are now literally an M1 only killer with an aura read. Imagine if the next killer was that. No ability besides aura reading. They wouldn't be considered good. The change was also muted by Shadowstep releasing in the same patch. Couldn't even use vanity mirror for weeks because you would get multiple shadowsteps and be turned into a M1 killer with literally no power.
People also want a buff to his kit, not a singular add on that massively changes how he plays, pretty much transforming him into a different killer. When the devs feel like fixing Myers, we can consider nerfing him. At this point he's so bad and so much of a joke that I wouldn't even want to renew the license if I was the license holder of Halloween. Borderline harmful to the characters image.
I think you've got some of your ideas about how to successfully play Mikey wrong.
T3 is mostly an afterthought for people who main Myers. It can be useful to get someone in one hit, but removing that doesn't feel like any loss to the character. Even before Vanity Mirror became a staple in my Michael builds after its buff, I sometimes forgot T3 existed. His main draw was his lack of terror radius (including at full speed when M&A and DR are used). And while he's always extremely perk and addon dependent, you can completely break the ######### game with the right combos.
Aura reading isn't what makes that build powerful. It's aura reading plus no terror radius plus regular speed that makes him borderline unstoppable. There's so much you can do with it, and your first hit is always free. Camping also guarantees an extra down, and you can mindgame and end chases like nobody else in the entire game since you can see through the goddamn walls. On a map like Lery's, you might as well be a Nurse main with 5,000 hours. There's just nothing they can do.
My wider point, though, is that I 3-4K 90% of my matches with VM/DR/M&A, but I'm much closer to 2K on average when I try a TP build.
I've played a few games with Tombstone Piece since this thread started, just because I don't usually bother with it, and while I can consistently get at least one kill and usually two with the addon, I'd probably be doing just as well to play with a generic Hair Bow build. For all the extra stalking you have to do, you could get kills almost as quickly by hooking people normally, and everyone spends the entire game hiding once they realize you have it (or denying it by hiding in lockers if you time it wrong). It's not OP, especially from the killer's perspective. Vanity Mirror is much more abusable.
Side note: I think having multiple playstyles was always the point of Myers' design in DBD. That's exactly what they want.
