Do you really think so? Shape usually dominates on indoor maps. M&A + Dead Rabbit or Scratched Mirror Myers should do the trick. I only got to play on the new map a couple of times, but it's already my favorite. I guess we'll see.

They were better at night, they just felt more creepy and natural. If they didn't want to make only SOME of the maps bright daytime they could at least have had a day and night variant or something.
But you think it's survivor sided? Really? I've found Coldwind to be one of the more balanced set of maps, actually. I lose about as much as I win.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2287591#Comment_2287591
Gotta hold the home button and jack the Switch's brightness (assuming that you're playing in handheld mode, I mean).
So they WERE originally at night. I ######### knew it. I thought I must have hallucinated it... My brain has been in a weird place.
I recall people complaining about Coldwind's maps being survivor-sided back then because of the corn, but I never felt that way myself until the rework, even though I didn't realize it was a rework ("I thought this map took place at night... Hey, they were right, this map really does suck").
Yeah, not a fan of new Coldwind. Definitely survivor-sided. The night version was at least fair.
-
Coldwind sucks all-around. Of course, every time I use my expensive add-ons, it's ######### Coldwind.
I understand the need for there to be survivor-sided maps to balance out killer-sided ones, but I agree with the OP. I've thought about this just about every single time I've played it. It wouldn't be so bad if I could read auras and just have a shot at winning. I'm luck to get 2 or 3k on Coldwind, and a lot of that comes down to the map's visibility.
Maybe there could be an option to render all Coldwind maps as nighttime for killers or survivors who wanted it, and the rest could view it as usual.
(I could have sworn the Coldwind maps originally took place at night, too. Mandela effect? Glitch in the Matrix?)

I played it a few times in the live version and didn't crash, but had a brightness bug that made it very dark and difficult to see so I'd rather they fix that before enabling the map again. The brightness bug wasn't on the PTB btw
Hm. I don't recall not being able to see. I assume you were playing on PC?
@TheGorgon said:
It wasn’t the best competitively (in terms of gameplay), but yes, it was by far the best map in the game aesthetically.
Yeah, that's what I meant.
It's sort of hard to quantify what the best map is gameplay-wise. As a killer, I love Gideon and hate Coldwind. I didn't play enough of Raccoon to get a decent opinion, but it seemed fairly balanced. Most indoor maps seem killer-sided, but I played twice as a survivor (and once as a killer, I think), and there seemed to be plenty of places hide and things to vault over.

I was working at the time they released it so I couldn't play on the new map.
Too bad. It seems like it was only up for a few hours, but it was great. Something to look forward to. I only got to play on it three or so times, myself, but it's the best map DBD has ever released. They really outdid themselves with that one, IMO.

They said there were reports of crashes after loading into a match.
Yeah, it does say that at the top of the screen there. I just wondered if anyone here had personal experience.

Yes. It also makes it easier to hit survivors.
Okay, cool, thanks.

While we're on the subject, is Shadowborn still good for Nurse? I'd like to learn her eventually, but I'm not sure if leveling up Wraith to 40 when he sucks, two out of his three perks are #########, and the third is situational at best is worth it.
Is Shadowborn worth using on anyone other than Nurse, for that matter? I hear people saying it works with her because it negates the temporary blindness caused by her blink cooldown, but does a FOV increase really make that much of a difference for any other killer? I run M&A almost every game, and I don't really even notice that aspect of the perk making a difference.

I laughed out loud when I saw the title of this thread and then looked at the number of replies.
I've actually only rarely seen Bubbas camp basements. They usually seem to equip Insidious and then camp any and every hook they can get near, instead. It's true, though. That always seems to be the playstyle.
My team always gets absolutely molested any time I'm playing against Bubba, but I couldn't hit a survivor with his chainsaw to save my life. I don't understand how all these Bubba players manage to 4K almost every game when I usually can't even get a black pip with him when I try.
-
My posts in this thread were a joke. I don't think BBQ should be altered at all. It's powerful and indispensable, but so are certain survivor perks (self care comes to mind).
I don't know why you all are so obsessed with nerfing everything. Worst part about this community by far. If you nerf every perk that does killers (or survivors) any good, the game's not going to be any fun to play.
-
Seriously: a memorial plaque will be carved and bejeweled in my honor.
Those are the terms!
-
This is the first gaming community I've ever been an active part of, and I'm still not sure if every other community is as whiny and entitled as you guys, or if it's just DBD.
That said, I too deserve one point five million bloodpoints, as soon as possible, for no particular reason.
Scratch that, I deserve five million.
No, thirty.

Alternatively, drop the BP buff ability and just actually buff the amount of BP people get normally.
Nerf BBQ's BP? If they tried something like that... If thought this community was whiny before...

Yes. Doing this would massively increase camping rates as people would be deincentivised from leaving the hook. The current BBQ is fine, easily countered through lockers, proximity, faking one direction then going the other and hiding your aura behind a generator. Nerfing it is not something you want to do, and thankfully, BHVR seems to agree.
Maybe we can keep the aura-reading ability and just buff the BP, too. I just want the BP.
-
Maybe we could remove BBQ's aura-reading ability, but change it to allow 50% BP per hook for a total of 200% extra instead of 25%/100%.
Any objections?

IMO here is why nemesis should be nerfed. There is zero mindgame to him. This was the same issue with pyramid head when he first released. You would M2 and drag your blade, but the survivor had no idea whether or not you would throw your ability or simply m1 for the easy hit. It's the exact same with Nemesis. When attempting to loop him, if it's a short wall, he can simply hit you over it and there is no counter play to it. This is the same reason why as PH you have a small delay when you swap between your M2 and M1 ability. BHVR has gotten really REALLY bad as of late with making killers that just plow through survivors with no counter play other than to just gen rush.
When Playing as Nemesis, I can easily whip someone and continue the chance, if they stay at the current loop and don't drop a pallet, it's an easy hit. If they do drop the pallet, I break it super fast then catch up.
But the difference between him and Pyramidhead is that PH doesn't give you an extra health state to play with when you get hit with his power. Nemesis can slap a survivor across a pallet, but it's not going to cause damage on the first attempt, and the hitbox is so goddamn small that you're just as likely to dodge it as to get hit. Nerfing his ability to close loops would definitely be taking away one of the only things making him playable. If they nerf that, they'd better get rid of the extra health state and vaccines as well.
Also, again, survivors have been handed some pretty broken-ass perks with this update. I don't think that is a bad thing, either, necessarily - they make the game more fun. But, Christ, nerfing Nemesis is a terrible idea.

@ill_Boston_lli said:
Nemesis Doesnt have to hit you to down you at all. Yes I get that there are only two of them on the map. But everytime I play as him multiple survivors are downed by them. They spawn near where we are looping and close it off. I Don't feel like I deserve these downs in any way. Call me Crazy but zombies shouldn't be able to down survivors. Sure infect and injure but If the Survivor is injured maybe hinder them?? Don't Count it as a hit so there is no speed boost but quite the opposite.
I think that a lot of it has to do with the fact that most survivors aren't yet used to the idea of looking for zombies. This is still day one. Most of the hits I've gotten by zombies have been from survivors who were looking behind them while being chased. The only zombie down I've gotten came when I was running Depleted Ink Ribbon and Shattered S.T.A.R.S. Badge - a powerful combo, but not one that's available for every game. Survivors skills will improve (unfortunately).
Also worth pointing out that a zombie can't down you unless you've already been hit by two tentacle attacks (or one tentacle and one regular attack) and haven't found a vaccine or else you're just repeatedly running into zombies over and over. They can't damage you unless you're already infected. They're also fairly slow, even with addons.
They don't reward killers for nothing, they punish you for not paying attention enough to occasionally move your character a few meters one direction or the other.
-
Me too. BBQ was my level two perk.
-
This isn't even a nerf. Assuming it drains item charges over time while on the ground, this makes it much more effective against items other than keys. I can live with that. Before, I always ran Lightborn over Franklin's because, if I ran the latter, I would either have to camp the damn item or fully expect survs to return with their flashlight's full amount of charges in less than a minute.
I've seen killers [BAD WORD] about keys for a while now, but I don't run into them often enough to notice them specifically, and I'm not sure I'd care enough if I did. Can't believe people would rather taker a DC ban for a few minutes than play against an item they don't like.
EDIT: Filter didn't catch my profanity, censored it myself.

Disagree on Jane. Jane is ######### trouble. She seems to know how to safely unhook almost as well as Bill and loop better than any other survivor. I don't like going up against a Jane.
Agree totally on Nea. Either toxic with a violent personality or quiet and diligent.
Any 3-survivor all-girl SWF team with flashy cosmetics and flashlights are going to be toxic, even if you're playing as the fourth survivor.
Ash often behaves like David, but with a few extra brain cells tacked on. I bought Ash because I love the movies and the TV show, but I usually play as Nea when I'm playing as survivor (I'm the stealthy type).

There I said it.
I've noticed this, too. They're also usually pretty good. They usually get ignored until I have nothing better to do.

Got my first memorial in a while. I guess I was just having ######### luck.

They’re meant to be hard to work with because the outcome is very powerful they nice it’s active.
Yeah, but they shouldn't be outright impossible to work with. Remove JT's speed reduction and the insane stalk requirement might be worth it. Maybe.
On the other hand, I actually did have my survivor team get steamrolled yesterday by an infinite EWIII Tombstone Myers, which I thought would be impossible, but something like that's pretty rare. When I try that, the exit gates are open before I'm even close.
But Myers is hard to work with at all without upgrades. They should at least remove the per-survivor stalk limit and either allow Tombstone to Mori people on the ground, or else remove or drastically the speed limit on Tombstone. Myers is a mid-tier M1 killer without addons, and he takes some practice to learn; he should get a real power trip every few games.
-
@Lx_malice said:
You have to walk up close to them and the "kill" prompt will pop up. Tap the button and bam. You kill them. Being moried off the ground occurs when the killer brings an ebony mori. For Myers add-ons you can only kill them when they're heathy or injured.
Okay, thanks. That makes sense. I have managed to Mori a couple people before using the prompt when they're standing, but I figured it would just be easier to slug them first.
Myers really needs an upgrade. I don't think I'll ever stop playing him, but his addons are hard to work with. Judith's Tombstone might be sort of good if it didn't come with the speed reduction (and no realistic way to counter it).
I also haven't seem Judith's Memorial in like the last ten or twenty bloodwebs (I've been levelling up other charatcers, too). Has it been removed? That was really the only thing keeping JT usable.
-
Goddammit. I'm only a rank 16. Is it even possible to get Merciless as a perkless Nurse? I only get Merciless in one out of like every 20 games, even as my main... I'm still getting used to DBD.
I'm happy, though. I got the killer I wanted. I thought it would be Lady D, but I wanted Nemesis. I think I'll have to shell out the eight bucks for this, after all.
I'll still try my best, but I'm ######### terrible at Nurse...

Contact BHVR's support and see if they can help in any way
Are you sure you're not logging off Stadia BEFORE the game saves?
No, I'm not sure. I'm not sure what that would do. I do know that the perks/addons I buy are still there with the additional BP.
@Mandy said:
This is nothing we can help you with on the forums. As your account is your responsibility, I would suggest you contact Support so they can assist you further: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
I know you marked this as not being a bug, but I think it is most likely a bug at this point, as evidence by the fact that I can log out and log back in while playing (I do this when I switch from computer to ChromeCast) and there will be extra BP there (I don't think someone can play on the same account at the same time?), and a bunch of other weird things have been happening (I've also been experiencing, for example, the fps slowdown when gens are completed, mentioned in another thread).
Yes, my account is my responsibility, but I've secured it, and it's still happening. I can't discount the fact that something suspicious is happening with my account, but I'd sure like to know how, if that's possible.
Someone tried to order porn using one of my accounts recently, so anything is possible, but.
I will contact BHVR's support. That might be the best thing to do. Thanks.

Thought I commented here, but I guess my post was removed somehow (?).
Lady Dimitrescu is my guess, though I really hope it's Nemesis. Jack would be good, too.
Killer I hate most is Trickster, but don't have him. One I hate the most to play as is actually Nurse.
-
Slippery Meat
It's just way too powerful as-is. I'd strongly recommend nerfing it.
-
This is still happening.
If me getting free bloodpoints is not a high-priority issue for the devs, it sure isn't for me, but I also want to know if someone else might be using the account somehow. Is there any way I could speak to a mod about this or something?
I'm mostly concerned that someone might use my account to do something against the ToS and get me banned. I'm not sure how that'd be possible at this point (especially since I'm only playing on Stadia until I can afford the PC version on Steam), but is there any way I could make sure?
-
@NightmareKiller said:
They are pretty lazy so I don't think so. Even making a killer who's power is more complex than "throw knives" seems too much to ask.
Trickster wouldn't even be so bad if he actually matched the game's aesthetic. So glad that cringy anime intro is gone.
-
######### Shrek.
If it were technically feasible, I'd like to see kid Myers from Rob Zombie's Halloween in his little clown mask, but they don't seem to be interested in adding characters/skins with different sized character models (probably why we haven't seen Chucky).

@scottydoggie said:
As a survivor main, I personally do not understand it so hopefully someone can give me a logical answer rather than "just because". In no way am I disrespecting killer's because they essentially make the game what it is. I have the upmost respect for them as playing as a killer looks INCREDIBLY stressful.
But what is the purpose of face camping/tunnelling? Lately I am seeing this in more of my rounds... Majority of the time killers will personally seek me out despite having, on average, 3 gens fixed in the time they've managed to down me.
Are you running a perk that makes you the Obsession? Are you the prettiest girl in your group (I notice running flashier cosmetics gets me targeted more as a Survivor)?
I don't usually facecamp, but I did game before last. Had no kills, one hook, exit gates were powered. So I facecamped her until one of her idiot friends tried to go for the rescue. Interrupted her, got another hook. Did the same thing, interrupted that guy, hooked him, too. Caught the last survivor trying to save her friends and chased her to the exit gates. Turned 0k into 3k in a matter of about a minute, and would have gotten 4k if I wasn't so bad with Huntress (was playing her for my Daily Ritual).
I'm not a very good killer yet, but I don't think facecamping is a very good strategy unless the exit gates have been powered.
-
It's also worth noting that my email has definitely been compromised in the past, and people have logged into my Facebook account from other continents, which made me think I got hacked at first. Also, my phone was recently stolen, but I did reset my Google password and unlink it after getting a new phone.
But some of the other things going on make me think this might be a bug instead of that, especially since it persisted even after securing my accounts.
Free bloodpoints are always nice, but I felt like I should draw attention to this in case something unscrupulous is going on.
-
I'm going with Lady Dimitrescu.
That said, I really hope it's Nemesis. Jack wouldn't be bad, either.
