Most higher ranks will say that Legion is far to weak and - in theory - I understand their position. However, in low or mid-rank games I often see Legion doing 3 or 4 kills easily. I think the problem is that there is no direct counter to his power. If you are already hurt, how do you counter a Legion who refuses to use his power unless you drop a pallet? If you drop the pallet, he hits you again, if you don't use the pallet he gains blood lust and gets you down with the regular attack?

Can someone provide a strategy for non-top-tier players?

There's a 2 fold problem with Legion: His power is both a crutch and a weakness. If you're already injured then he wont use his power on you so best just do generators and be immersed and hide loop around a pallet until he's forced to use his power to catch up. He may tunnel one guy, but most of the gens will be done with this strategy. Another option is jungle gyms but he's probably going to tunnel you until he gets that hook, main issue is relying on team mates to get the gens done.

Strategy wise you could grab adrenaline, it really messes him up late game since he just loses all pressure.

TLDR: He's stronger at your rank because players aren't doing gens.

Well Pig is honestly in a worse state than Leatherface. Pig needs deep wounds on her stealth lunge and better add ons.

    Nope.
This comment makes no sense. Pig is in a much better state then Leatherface.

she really isn't bro. Her power is pretty much just a walking insidious but it is somewhat good for smacking people who camp pallets. Her face traps don't even slow the game down as much as Legion's mend. Her add ons are fairly useless (she doesn't have an instant down or a significant power spike from her add ons). Even Truetalent thinks she's about as bad as Freddy and I see Freddy players get more kills on average.

You clearly know nothing about the Pig if you think Bubba is stronger than Pig. Especially if you think her addons are useless.

Bubba is stronger than pig, he's just overlooked because of Hillbilly. I see him a ton on red ranks on console :/ he's much effective on there since survivors can't juke as well. Pig is just wraith with a gimmick, but weaker since Wraith has a speed boost.

  • He's got some of the best add ons in the game. I think the only change I would want on him is just cosmetics.

I feel like that would punish killers that don't camp just as much, if not more. If I leave the hook and the survivors have a whopping three minutes to save someone, that puts me at a huge disadvantage. They can safely continue working on generators until someone eventually gets chased, letting them get an easy safe rescue. Meanwhile if I camp them, chances are someone's going to try to unhook them and then I can easily down them again and skip that entire phase.

well I'm trying to figure out a way to solve camping/ tunneling i suppose they could just buff kindred to have a longer hooking duration, that would probably be the best fix since tier 3 already spots killers and it gives everyone aura read so it actually hurts killers the longer that survivor is on the hook.

What would fix camping is very simple, extend survivor objectives. I've noticed most campers feel like they won't be able to do much in their current situation so they'd rather take their kill and be done with it. Throughout my playtime as survivor I haven't come across someone who straight up face camps just to be an ass. Instead they usually proxy camp because if they go too far I get unhooked and with gens being done too fast it's pretty much a lose lose situation for the killer.

Rather than always picking the approach to punish campers, let's try incentivizing non-campy gameplay and see how it turns out. So far these punishments with the chaser emblem, BT buff and all that has done nothing.

Except that would also have the opposite effect. If I hook someone once and camp them until they die, that's 120 seconds. That's enough for the remaining three survivors to fully fix three generators (assuming they didn't even touch a generator until someone got hooked, but let's be real, that's not the case). By the time that first person dies, the other survivors can have the first three done and the last two very close. If they do not waste time trying to rescue someone being camped, the killer basically only gets one kill.

Extending the survivor objective means I can camp someone for 120 seconds with less risk. I don't have to worry about generators going off left and right because they're going to take longer. Say this new survivor objective takes ~120 seconds to do. By the time the first guy dies, I have another 120 seconds to catch someone else and stick them on the hook too.

I feel like the best way to discourage camping would be to make kindred baseline. SWF groups can already share this information anyway, so this would only benefit solo players who don't know and have to waste time checking the hook to see if the killer is camping. That way they would instantly know if it's worth going for a save or if they should just fix generators.

I do have an issue with Kindred being baseline though, it gives all survivors aura info which is pretty overpowered (which is probably why they didn't make that change). I'd rather just have 1500 survival points if I'm not getting unhooked even if I have to tap a
button for 2 minutes straight (and that would be the reality a survivor if this was a real perk) sure killers would complain forever about that guy not dying but what about the survivor button mashing for 2 minutes you guys didn't consider that?

  • I don't use it and I didn't know it did anything. BTW I've gotten adept Jake achievement twice.

  • I'm a 60/40 survivor killer. I played survivor first them maxed my killers. Favorite survivors are meg and tapp, favorite killers are Clown and Myers.

Idk what they could do honestly I do like the idea of the Pustules coming back for just cosmetic grind since that did slow the game down a little bit (but billy was unreasonable during that time). When I play killer I don't camp but I do heavy patrol since it's so easy to find them when they unhook. The other reason why I suggested a longer 2nd phase was so bad survivors can get time to save. On Console even up through green ranks I get get killed just getting hooked once since survivors won't do gens and are too scared to unhook. This game isn't always just for high rank 2k hour people even noobies need help.

Monitor and Abuse is one of the best perks in the game, and Overcharge and Overwhelming Presence have their usefulness as well. Pig's MYC is not gimmicky, it's awesome. BBQ and Chili from Leatherface is meta and he also has Franklin's Demise which is a great perk when everyone in your lobby has items. Ruin from Hag is also pretty much meta and Devour Hope is great if it lasts. Freddy has Blood Warden which can save your ass more often than you'd think. Clown's Bamboozle and Pop Goes the Weasel are both good. Spirit's Spirit Fury, Haunted Grounds, and Rancor are literally ALL great perks. Even Legion has good ones in Discordance and I think Mad Grit is pretty cool. Iron Maiden I'm not sure about but could be fun to play with. I don't know about survivor perks because I don't play survivor but the killer perks are definitely good and worth getting in the DLCs.

Most killer perks are worth it, it really is just Pig and some perks fairly subpar perks. With Killer is is kinda pay to get advantage. On survivor side it's the opposite, no dlc perk outside of DS and ds is weaker than deadhard and adrenaline. Sure everyone is going to defend dlc perks but they really are subpar I mean can you name one aura perk that is stronger than Leader or aura reading perk stronger than Empathy. I am going to buy all the dlc again, mostly because I do support BHVR and I love this game, but I might legit skip out on most of the teachables just because they don't improve my success of winning.

EDIT: Also I should clarify that I do have Doc/Feng and Hag/Ace since they are baseline on console.

  • @GraviteaUK said:
You're asking for more attractive perks for paid content, that's P2W

I think they should just be on par with characters from the base set, the only dlc perks that are meta is ds but even I have beef with that perk Sole Survivor and Object of Obsession are very bad perks. Like Tapp and Kate pretty much have noob friendly map awareness perks and some garbage ones. On the Killer end Doc and Pig have some of the most useless perks in the game (overcharge and myc is decent but both are gimmicky). Quentin's only good perk is Pharmacy and that is considered a joke in the community, wake up is arguably the worst endgame perks in the game. Adam autodidact is almost as bad as No Mither and has the same design principle.

I wouldn't label this as a bug. Its similar to when you are in a chase and connection issues/frame issues cause you to get hit even though you swear you hit your DH or dropped that pallet, or vaulted.

One of the joys of playing on PS4/XBone. :|

yep, there's also a crazy framerate drop when spirit uses her phase walk, but it's not like I can predict when they are gonna jump out and dead hard in time :/

Wouldn't that be fun. And offer synergy with the RBT.

I'd rather her lunge vault over stuff, that would be epic, just lunge over a pallet assassins creed style and stab a survivor.

  • Reason why I would bring this up is that Scream got revitalized through a tv series, so maybe the license was demanding too much. I really feel like the old slashers are what keep this game fairly popular and ahead of their competitors.

  • @mike4156 said:
Some killers are starting to notice that just slashing with the knife and chasing is better than inflicting the Deep Wound effect on a survivor, its actually too easy to be chased down and killed by him when people know this.

I've seen this situation lategame with Legion a lot, the real answer is to just loop them, but that only lasts for a little while until they down you with 3 frenzy slashes or just catch you out in a bad spot. The issue I see is when they use their power to get ahead, then body block effectively or corner you, then stab. Essentially it's like dealing with wraith with a shorter uncloak time and you have no reason to heal against him. Sure it's a "git gud" kind of situation, but it's hard with a killer with so many ways to deal with survivor's tools.

EDIT: To the op, try balanced landing or Dead hard if you run into this situation often, that way if Legion is trying to force a slug, you have options to escape more than just looping.

  • I've had to use Adrenaline more on console, It's really clutch but on the survivor end they have to get the gens done and hope the killer doesn't have Noed. SInce I see Noed frequently it's still fairly balanced. I do think that healing on hook is very overpowered though.

  • I'd rather wait till the severs come out, main issue I have with killers/survivors is just hit detection with lag.

  • @Milo said:

Her perks are all bad even MYC which is only good on Nurse and Hag. I legit never enjoyed playing her thought so I have a negative bias.
I mean you can do ok with her, most of the time I see pigs just insidious camp hook players and wait for an unhook. Main issue she has is finding survivors and building momentum to win the game. She's like Doc + Wraith with all the drawbacks.

I used to be a Freddy main and I kicked losts of ass with him, he can focus on more than one person at a time which is how I like to play. I like strategy and Pig looks like she has a good strategy game with her traps if used properly and has good RNG. I've gone against some really good Pigs and they're my favrotie killers to go against. I know Pig is like some other killers with no loop game game but I've been seeing that interesting Ambush attack at loops and thought that would be great to learn.

If you're wanting to learn more about Pig check out Monto and Truetalent's videos, they play the game a crazy amount and would give the best examples of how to play her. Another advice I would give is to stack up Pig's endgame with NOED and or Bloodwarden since her traps at endgame can be very strong.

Well depends, if console or pc. On pc nurse is 1, on console she's on par with Pig.
Billy is solid top on both. Spirit is below billy on pc, she's below Legion on Console. Myers is below spirit on PC above Legion on Console. Hag is above Legion on both and arguably below/equal Myers. Huntress and Legion are below Myers/Hag. Clown is below Huntress and Legion. Leatherface, Trapper, Wraith are below Clown. Freddy is on par with Legion on console but at the bottom on pc. Doc and Pig are at same level for both.

Spirit is top tier on console too. She's definitely not below Legion.

Nurse is also still top tier on console, it's just harder to use her than on PC so not many players ever bother to learn her. I spent the time learning her and I find her very VERY powerful. The catch is that sometimes a game can have bad frame rate (happens for every killer actually) which especially hurts Nurse. But if you know what you are doing and the game isn't borked you will still dominate like on PC.

You guys are confusing frequency with strength. The tier list is consistent across platforms, but because killers like Nurse/Huntress suffer more from frame rate and are harder to learn, there are less GOOD players for these killers. Therefore all the good players gravitate towards killers that are easier to use. Freddy, Wraith, Trapper, Billy. Spirit is hard to use but not in the same way as Nurse/Huntress. They are mechanically difficult, where Spirit is tactically difficult. If you know how to mind game and track survivors, Spirit is as easy as other easy killers.

Like I see a ton of Myers on Xbox. But it's not because he is really good, more than there are a lot of Halloween fans that play him. And he's fun to play. He's no more viable against top tier survivors than he is on PC. Trust, I'm one of those survivors and Myers isn't that great. It's way harder to beat a good Nurse/Spirit/Huntress/Billy than Myers, but hardly anyone good plays Nurse/Huntress.

While I mostly agree I do have to argue that due to frame issues and lower sensitivity it does indeed affect Huntress' placement on the Tier. She may be the same on paper, but in practice, she doesn't work as well on Console.

Huntress usually wrecks on console, survivors never look behind them and the framerate is slower so you don't have to lead or predict.

Problem with Borrowed Time is that you're depending upon the Killer to camp and tunnel in order for it to be effective whereas if a killer is really camping and tunneling you should do gens, not unhooking in his face.

When the gates are open you gotta unhook in his face most of the times. Also sometimes you are unhooking someone and killer decides to come back, BT becomes useful in that situation.

that's like the only time though, if you're looking for an endgame perk everyone goes Adrenaline (it's ways better than BT on every circumstance). I really think only SWF use BT. Its also fairly bugged, instant downers will still down the survivor after hitting (I've seen it on Billy and Myers I can assume Leatherface does it as well) and some killers like Legion, Wraith, and Pig can just turn off their terror radius or use their low terror radius to not apply it.

Bubba's problem is he's highly susceptible to looping especially against good loopers which means he has it easy chasing me. That's really his biggest issue is the looping since other than that he's actually really good and most people try and chansaw during loops as well.

The thing with him is he can be op in the right hands and if the buffs are too much he'll be an unstoppable killing machine every match. Want a 4k play Bubba at that point he'd be nurse tier if he's over buffed due to his ability to down multiples.

Sorry if my tier list is confusing, I compare killers to other killers based on efficiency and how I see them being played and how they are played against and I consider Legion now the standard of Killers base upon how much I see him and how he averages a 2k in most games I see him in.

  • This is a misconception, many legions will slug after their first wounding volley and only use their power to locate survivors or to bypass defenses or bad loops. His power is used to mainly locate survivors and give info, not to kill them.
In many ways Legion is actually strong from this since he undermines survivors sustaining abilities, med kits, and most altruistic actions.

No joke I actually think that might be a little too op, 5 stacks of huntress lullaby on the doctor can lead to some impossible skill checks, if it was as easy as hitting the obsession it might be too strong. But I can agree hooking 5 survivors is a bit much.

well there is always the counter of hiding the obsession, plus obsessions usually have ds so it's harder to hook and kill them anyway. It would be interesting with Remember me since you could stack them together effectively.
Problem with Huntress Lullaby as a totem is that it competes with Ruin as a slowdown and with Devour Hope as a hooking totem, why would a killer chose it when these perks exists?

  • The rushed the patch due to the holiday and Last Year being released. Legion needed buffs before release and they acknowledged this but they didn't have the time. This was still better than the Hallowed Blight patch, playing became a toxic farm fest and everyone was trying to play killer.

I love how I make this for every killer I wanna learn lol. But Clown and Bubba really aren't clicking for me, I get abused as them and genrushed like mad. I hate having their dailys and luckily a nice survivor at the gate helps me out. Does anyone have advice for me so I don't get genrushed and looped like mad as them. I can't get the hang of Clowns tonic and I just can't use it and for Leatherface, I get looped so hard it's funny. I'm not used to playing killers who can't move around the map quickly with their power. Or killers that have to deal with loops (not exactly Clown but I struggle to shut them down with him). I main Spirit, Hag and Nurse and I have no problems with loops. But I want to get good as every killer like I used to be before I started learning Nurse.

For Clown due to his 1v1 nature you might consider obsession perks and just tunnel the obsession since his bottles counter ds fairly well and they are great for debilitating saves. This is just an idea, typically with Clown I have to go late game perks like Bloodwarden/NOED since he has trouble with map control against good survivors you'll still lose 2-3 gens in a 45s find/chase even through Ruin. For Leatherface, he is a defensive killer so getting Agitation or Iron Grasp is a must, find good areas to hook and keep the survivors on the defensive or in good areas to capitalize multiple hits (hills, corners, basement) the main issue is getting that momentum going and you need perks like Spirit Fury and Bamboozle to help with chases. It's also very frustrating to find out where your chainsaws hit into structures or random objects, so don't bother with it unless you're right on top of a survivor and have a clear run path or predictable loop. Also Leatherface is one of those killers that really needs to Prestige, his apron makes him look like a giant highlighter.

This is not a problem caused by the developers. Since there is a "skill" difference between Rank 1 and 20, Nurse for example is weak and needs skill. Facing a Nurse in a Rank 1 match is most likely one of the hardest matches you'll face. On Rank 20, getting hits is so unusual, that u most likely not see much nurses.

Same with Legion. On Rank 1 with certain AddOns he's avarage. Not good but avarage. Can't tell you how good he is on Rank 20 but I bet with you, people of rank 20 have a completly other perspective

Legions inconsistent at all ranks, players are still learning him imo. He is better than Clown just weaker than Spirit.

No, he's a bad killer. If he wasn't you wouldn't waste the game mending/healing. Also, you don't heal against a Legion.

That is actually a misconception, you should heal if you get the opportunity. If you stay wounded they can just focus you down or slug and hey it's free bloodpoints unless he has sloppy butcher. I usually grab Resilience just to counter him either way.

I play on Xbox and I can definitively state that your findings are incorrect. Maybe at rank <15 it's true, but get to rank 1, as both killer and survivor, and you will see how wrong you are. Ruin shows up in almost every game I played at rank 1, to the point I just expect the killer to always have it and have learned to just do great skill checks and I know where all the totems spawn.

The only thing that's somewhat correct is the variability between killers. Nurse and Huntress are rare, and majority of players using them are not that good. However there are several VERY good Nurse/Huntress players on Xbox (I'd like to consider myself one of them but I digress). More common at high ranks are Myers, Billy, Wraith, and LF. There are also a lot of good survivors that can give you the run around for quite some time.

All I really see from the OP is you need to rank up. Because everything you say contradicts my experience entirely.

Just got to rank 10 so I have been seeing it more now and I'm getting matched up against red ranks :/ doesn't bother me none I've been running small game just because of the high amount of Trappers I encounter. The only strong killers on here are Billy and Myers. Freddy is abnormally strong too since teamplay is weaker. I just say that it's more fun when the survivors seem to be less efficient.

The problem with Nurse though, is that you can abuse map locations way easier on console (cars, boxes, trees) and they generally can't hit you through them.
