  • I think the only nerf she needs in body blocking detection in phase walk it really stunts the juking potential of survivors.

I'm a freddy main but theres too many perks I want to use right now o have m&a myc remember me and bbq is that good or should i run something better?

I usually run Remember Me, NOED/Blood warden, Tinkerer, and Nurses Calling. Focus the obsession, use tinkerer to detect/camp/patrol since survivors will always gen rush and this will give Freddy true stealth and help you detect survivors or cut them off, put people to sleep and slug occasionally, and try to get 1-2k before all the gens are done and let noed/bloodwarden finish them off.

You can change up the build with Dying Light instead of Remember Me if you have a mori since it will slow down the game more effectively and strengthen your endgame.

Ask for a realistic WGLF buff, then? I don't believe a soul is stopping you.

IIRC WGLF was adjusted because it encouraged unhooking people directly in front of a killer, and other potato tactics, though.

Killers need to have fun, or at the least feel like they're accomplishing something in the face of the crap survivors put them through (Especially SWF having fun at the killer's expense), and it's only going to get worse with the new survivor and aura blocker lockers.

So, yeah, why not make a perk better towards this goal?

There just seems to be so much rant after one measley nerf to BBQ and everyone is losing their minds. Meanwhile, survivors are still farming teammates with WGLF and just adding BT to not lose the points.

Well what it's going to do is force Iron Maiden with BBQ users so they can tell when people go into lockers, if anyone is getting Distortion though, then that's going to be another issue. Granted Freddy might be the hard countered by distortion users if it becomes meta since he has multiple passive ways of reading auras so this would also unintentionally nerf him as well.

I think he looks really cool and he seems pretty effective, but I'm not sure.

hes a solid killer considered A rank, right around hag and spirit. His perks are solid for any mid tier killer, but they are all obsession perks. He's also one of the strongest farmers in the game with farming perks or add ons.

For normal games: Ruin, Moniter and Abuse, Nurses Calling, BBQ and Chili
For farming games: Ruin, Thrill of the Hunt, Distressing, BBQ and Chili

you rip a valuable part of a generator as a weapon of last defense: All gen times are increased by 8% stacks per survivor.

anytime they escape a trap yes that would be a good time waster to help trapper especially if he's already in chase.

    Seriously.

If the game isn't lagging unbearably then it's just a tunnel fest.

Before you cry "w3lL dun get c@Ught lol" they stil tunnel other survivors to death.

You get penalized if you don't unhook. Plus its not nice to leave someone on the hook. But you have to. Because every killer walks a little bit away from the hook then quickly runs back to tunnel the unhooked guy before he can get away. Game after game after game this is the strategy of every 9 out of 10 killers.

Its absolutely awful for the person being tunneled and its boring as hell for the remaining survivors.

Dont give me "its a legit strategy" approach. Its garbage and has completely ruined one side kf the game.

They need to make some extreme changes to make this playable again. Its only worth it in SWF or playing killer now.

Borrowed Time and bodyblocking? survivors have tools to prevent tunneling but it takes teamwork and minor effort.

SWFs aren't the problem! You just have to play about 12 hours a day to hone being a killer! Get good like me!
    eyeroll

Goddamn, really? People commenting to "git gud" that get to play the game a shitton more than most, and are probably running a huge arsenal, if not a full arsenal of perks telling people that likely don't have the hours, or perks that one of the hardest ways to play the game is fine?

I swear the way they talk, and offer nothing to help combat SWFs is BEYOND useless. Bragging don't help.

People that stream, have massive arsenals, lots of time to play, etc. are so far removed from the average player, and their problems. Period. That's it.
They don't know anymore what it's like, and they normalize their experiences with everyone else' to the point that anyone that defies their "normal" looks crazy. The way they go on about liking the difficulty, never dodging, etc. that they look at people who don't enjoy the difficulty spike as anomalies. smh

It's like a millionaire telling an average person to just cut a check to get major car repairs done, or something.

P.S.: With upcoming changes to BT, a perk that breaks hooks, aura blocking lockers, and who knows what else favoring survivors, being a killer looks like it's going to start to suck.

I work two jobs and do volunteer work as a mod in my spare time. I'm lucky if I get to play a few hours a week, yet I still do just fine. Time is not the only factor there. You gotta' put in the effort to learn the little details of the game (which way to run tiles, how to predict the survivors' movement/actions, and other little tricks like moonwalking to hide your stain). That's not to say that playing a lot won't help, but you can do just fine even if you only play a couple hours a week.

If you don't put in the effort to get better, yes, absolutely you're going to lose to a good team. They practiced and learned the intricacies of the game and you didn't. By definition, they are better players in that case.

Avoiding good teams and not learning how to beat them is not the way to get better.

There's no shame in losing a match. I lose sometimes, no biggy. If they played well and I made mistakes, I shouldn't win. Balancing the game in a way where you can not play the game and not try to get better at it but still win against someone who does play the game and does try to get better at it is the definition of unbalanced. If I suck, I suck, I take my loss and derank to a rank more fitting to me.

(Not making any statements about you in particular, just a broad statement.)

I just feel like there's way too much rng for a killer to be up against and there's really nothing a killer can stack things in his favor besides the offering system. I feel like especially if killers are used as hosts for the game, we need more incentives for playing and bonus bp offerings on top of map selection (or map bans for the love of god) can give us a greater qol especially since we can't control who is coming in our lobbies. The playerbase has dropped almost 13k since last month and I can blame new games coming out or people playing Civilization but I feel like Devs going back and forth on nerfing survivors and map spawns doesn't help. Give killers more Qol buffs like lobby control :/ double offerings, and possible map bans. I legit just want to dc anytime I get the Game map with only 5 hooks spawning on the whole map and all on one floor, I want to dc when I get freaking swamp maps and family residence cause you still can't see anything on those maps and the gens are always evenly spread.

I think the biggest thing is, from what i heard and read, when a SWF member dies they can see the killers perks and provide a second set of eyes for the friend they are spectating. That seems to be a crazy added bonus to the communication they already have when they are all alive.

I dont see why killers don't get extra bloodpoints that go up in relation to how many SWF members there are on the other team.

survivors get way too many advantages anyway, giving killers a bonus offering would pretty much allow us to get moris and map selection or bonus points in 2 categories or just tons of bp to make up for playing the killer role. My issue with swf isn't them being toxic, it's from them being good and coordinated and ending the game faster I hate waiting in lobby 15 minutes for a 3-4 minute gen rush and I'm not gonna just get noed/bloodwarden just because the devs won't balance objective time discrepancy .

Call me crazy but I think it's a little bit ridiculous that the doctor can put you into tier 3 madness without even shocking you and once you're in it you can't drop pallets as fast, you can't use a flashlight or heal yourself or anyone else, you literally can't do anything and when you get hooked it still doesn't snap you out of it. And when you start to snap out of it he can actually see you with nurses calling? Why is that a thing?

Look, I'm not complaining because of any specific match or anything. It just seems silly that tier 3 does that much to you. More so that it causes issues dropping pallets some times when it tries to snap out of it rather than drop the pallet similar to self care/pallet drop issues. I don't know, maybe he needs that overpowered aspect because he's otherwise weak. Just looking for thoughts and discussion here.

doc is just slightly above leatherface and freddy because of that. I might admit that Nurses is a bit overpowered on him especially if you use add ons to increase the duration of snap out of it, but he's the most noticable killer in the game, he legit shows you where he's looking and when he's coming your way if you look at your feet. Survivors pretty much get a free spine chill/premonition against doc. He's also one of the most add on reliant killers in the game and his add ons don't do much except for extra tracking or range boosts.

  • @Zaluli said:
So I've finally become fed up with this enough to register and make a thing about it.

The fact that killers can hit survivors while they're in the middle of pulling a pallet down and even hit them when they're on the other side is ridiculous and extremely frustrating. I've seen it happen and had it happen to me so many times that it really seems to be a problem.

Am I the only one that feels this way?

my dude you need to play killer more, then you realize that each of those pallet hits was your miscalculations over the killers prediction those pallet swings are harder than they look.

  • I'd be ok with the changes if they remove all battery add-ons for flashlights, seems fair.

The reason the Legion feels underwhelming has little to do with their power or stats. Similarly to the Doctor when he was first released, the problem is the Deep Wound mechanic that their power relies on. Deep Wound is simply not that great.

Changes to the Legion will not fix the problem. Deep Wound is what needs fixing.

Legion actually needs his double stun fixed, after that maybe some other tweaks (faster base recharge on his power since he moves so slow?) honestly I think an interesting change would be to survivors having a cooldown on their adrenaline hit run since that gimps Legion and was probably never looked at on a developer standpoint for a multiple hitting killer.

I don't know if this was covered but the BIGGEST issue with Deep Wounds is the info it gives to other survivors, if it doesn't tick down it tells the other survivors that you're still in chase with that one survivor.

This is a problem? I thought we wanted to bridge the gap of swf and solo?

Yeah but we don't need to give survivors a 4 obsession indicator which is what happened to Legion, even low level players will understand this and use it to their advantage, granted Pig has the same issue where the timer wont tick if survivors are in a chase, but pig is less likely to get multiple facetraps and give that info to survivors.

    HAHAHA

    ...

GG killers who only used BBQ for the BP bonus it offered... Cause we all know you didn't need it for the aura reading.

    discuss....

BBQ was so widely used cause it didn't give a drawback like Distressing does (Unless you're playing Doc, Nurse, or Huntress to some degree). Thrill of the Hunt should be used more since it gives some slowdown against someone trying to get Ruin and slow the game down even further. Beast of Prey is never used and probably needs a bump or buff somewhere. Surprising we don't have a Brutality or Sacrifice specific Perks even though I think Predator and Hangmans Trick could use a bp increase since they are considered garbage perks.

    Camping Critera:
1: Are there any gens left?
    2: Did BBQ locate anyone?
3: Did 3 survivors bodyblock and attempt flashlight save?
    4: Basement hook?
5: Am I playing Leatherface, Huntress, Trapper, or Hag?
6: Was this survivor being toxic and do I have a Mori?
7: Was this guy in a locker?
8: Did this survivor have DS, Deadhard, and Adrenaline?

Under these conditions I typically camp or patrol really heavily it also depends if I have to do a Sac daily, typically killers don't camp unless the survivors did something (gen rush, bodyblock, flashlight save/pallet stun).

Deep wound on static shock would be ridiculously broken.

Same goes for Freddy since after his transition he's a M1 killer and with the right perks will get a free hit in.

The deep wounds mechanic comes with a severe drawback, it allows other players to know when that survivor is in the killers terror radius so it would become a double edged sword and it doesn't tick down if in a chase it barely works on Legion since he gets and ability cool down refresh and mobility for afflicting other players. If killers focus one survivor they are giving their team info about that chase and the only benefit would be that survivors would have to mend and heal and waste time if they weren't downed and hooked.

Essentially it would give other killers a time wasting mechanic since they don't have an instant down or strong map pressure.

I like the look of the new killer and survivor. Everything doesn’t have to be mind blowing all the time. And far as Jeff well you know the saying that there are 7 other people who like you lol 🤷🏾‍♂️

All jokes aside I love the concept. There are so many cosmetics they can do with The Legion. They can wear ninjas mask, phantom of the opera, and etc. The legion basically reminds me of the Purge franchise.

I think it's too soon to be saying definitively whether a new killer is bad or not. It's been less than 24 hours since release. Obviously there are going to be balance issues, but in terms of basic mechanics, I think it's super cool that they've designed a killer who either heavily discourages or actively counters things that have been widespread problems for a long time - not only tunnelling, but bodyblocking and pallet looping as well. People just need more time to figure out how to play as Legion - it seems like this killer is pretty different and will take some getting used to, but that doesn't mean it's automatically bad or underpowered because it doesn't work with the playstyle that most people have grown accustomed to.

I've played this game for almost 2 years, I watched streamers play him and even they struggled to get Legions power to be beneficial, most games that i saw where they got kills was with a mori or tunneling with m1. My biggest issue is how many perks don't work with Legion, that he/she is pigeon holed into using perks like Thanatophobia and Moniter and Abuse just to help the weakness in their kit. For as complicated as Legions mechanics there is very little payoff.

I understand the concern, and I'm sure he has his problems, but at the same time I don't think that anyone has had time to really get a good grasp of his mechanics and how to play him, unless they've been playing him nonstop since release, and even then I would suggest they need a bit more time to think things over. I haven't played him yet, but from the sounds of it he's not pigeonholed into anything. Using perks to make up for the weaknesses in the base kit is one strategy, another is using entirely different perks to amplify the base kit's strengths. It's just a matter of playstyle and build. As I said, I'm sure he's not perfect, but I still think he's going to take more than a few hours, which is likely how long most people have played for so far, to figure out.

(For the record, I've been playing longer than 2 years. It doesn't make much of a difference in terms of skill.)

Well Legion is "fun" to play, but he's objectively somewhere between pig and wraiths strength, big maps screw him/her over hard since he has trouble chaining attacks also not seeing scratch marks really can hurt him if survivors break los. I played him/her for a couple hours and got tired of being genrushed (I don't understand why ptb players do this when they need to learn new looping mechanics) :/ his perks are really good though I can see using Iron Maiden for Huntress and Doc, Discordance will possibly be meta since it's a good survivor locating perk, True Grit is a must have against body blocking swfs but it will be hard to tell when they are in lobby anymore.

EDIT: I'll explain the pigeonholing, you can't effectively use on hit perks with this character's power it doesn't apply (third seal, sloppy butcher). Bamboozle doesn't help him or increase his vaulting, he has a smaller terror radius so monitor and abuse is required to be more stealthy. Mend doesn't count towards healing so you can't use Nurses, Coulrophobia, as far as I know even Dying Light doesn't effect it.

As far as the first paragraph goes, I'll have to take your word for it because I haven't played the PTB yet.

I understand that there are some perks that don't work well with him, but there are still quite a few left over. Surely there are at least a few interesting builds in there to work with? Every killer so far has a pretty good selection of perks to choose from, even if there are some that don't really work for that killer (say, Myers with Insidious for example). I find it hard to believe I guess that the devs would commit such a huge oversight as to create a killer who is forced to use a very limited selection of perks to play effectively.

You've never used Myers with insidious? It is hilarious even Monto uses it. Idk everything about this killer reeks of oversight issues it's like they went out of their way to make him feel freddy weak and make stabbing someone over and over again feel dissatisfying :/.

As for the map I agree it feels a little bland but I've also only seen it from videos and not played it myself so the little details may still be hidden to me. As for the survivor he is probably made using Davids character model hence the similarities. He has the longest back story of any survivor and I'm sure he has the potential for some great skins.

I think what would've been a good idea is what you said: Frankenstein's Monster we could've had a mutilated killer that was pieced together from other survivor parts in a grotesque form of flesh and madness. Throw off the hood and mask and give us something terrible to behold. That's why the killer looks like a survivor: it's made from the parts that didn't escape.

yeah but the problem is that we already have like 5 masked knife wielding killers (wraith, trapper, Myers, Pig, and Clown) and 4 bearded white guys (david, bill, and dwight, ace) they could've done anything cosmetically different.

I think it's too soon to be saying definitively whether a new killer is bad or not. It's been less than 24 hours since release. I get the impression that you want to use his power to soften up all the targets and then you just go around m1ing survivours. My only concern is in large maps where survivours are spread out which is the optimum way of playing as survivour.

Potenetially an anti heal build could work considering how fast legion can injure and chain hits. Im thinking thantophobia, sloppy butcher, colourophobia and distressing might actually have a place in the gangs arsenal. Yes im aware mending is not affected by healing but they still lose a health state and very few killers minus nurse can deal as much damage across the entire team.

problem is that it doesn't actually slow the survivors down or stop them from doing gens and spreading out. Survivors actually move faster than this killer when their power is down so they always have a mobility advantage the power barely puts you at the same speed as sb/lithe/or bl so they can still evade a chase, wait till your power goes down and you get stunned and just be immersed for a second.

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on the new killer and his perks. Personally I could definitely see him being top 5 and his perks are interesting and seem fun. Also the mask idea is very cool and adds depth to the killer by giving him a sort of MPD vibe. I'd love to know everyone else's opinions and I look forward to playing the new DLC.

played Them (since genders are confusing I like to call it a her also since Julie was the murderer in the backstory and thus the real killer) and she's like a mix of wraith and doc where you can locate survivors easier with your power, but you end up just slowly walking up and slugging to get any game process.

It seems he has insane snowball potential.
The only problem is that splitting and doing generators alone is a very hard counter. I actually don't know what I can do if people split up.
I will wait for good killers' streams to see his potential better (zubat for example)

zubat makes any killer seem decent, Hexy puts her below clown and pig. Playing her on the PTB is frustrating to say the least, it's as bad as playing Pig.

I've seen a few YT/streamers using Unrelenting lately, the most prominent is probably True Talent. I get that it can be a soft counter to Dead Hard, but that's really the only value I see in the perk. Am I missing something?

he uses it as a counter to the missed swing animations when getting pallet stunned after spirit fury activates.

I think he is very interesting killer, but without addons he seems quite a weak. Hex: Ruin, A Nurse's Calling, Deerstalker, Save The Best For Last would be good perk build.

He feels not so much weak as just really add on and expose perk reliant due to his mechanic you'd need distressing and claurophobia/thano to make him more effective.

When you hit a ds, the killer only drops you because you poop on his face and he's like ewww gross. Tier 3 is the most violent kinda poop which is why it stuns for longer durations.

good thing Lery's has shower stalls lul.

    Hello

It made sense when we had 4 Survivors and 3 Killers, but the game has tremendously evolved since then.

We are looking at this problem as we speak, but cannot say when we will be ready to announce something officially. Just wanted to mention that we acknowledge that the Perk system is not very exciting and we want to do something about it, making it more interesting and balanced.

We are open to suggestions and ideas.

    Thank you!

    Suggestions
1: Give every character a tier 1 version of the perk they unlocked (this would ease grinding all across the board and help when players prestige or use new killers/ survivors.
2: 1.5 to 2x bp gain or create more daily or match rewards: If you guys tied certain bp objectives into the perks on matches like engage in chase for one minute after activating sprint burst in a match for 5k things like that would go a long way and give survivors/killers more to do and give us more rewards on our playstyle.

BBQ and Distressing are the usual perks people take. BBQ is good because you get bonus points and it reveals locations. Distressing gives bonus points BUT the downside is it increases your terror radius.

This is why people take Doc - because he benefits from a larger terror radius due to the madness effect.

Freddy in herr is also a decent suggestion. His terror radius isn't affected until they're in dreamworld so you can still sneak up on survivors. Once they're in the dreamworld you've got them so the larger terror radius doesn't matter.

Spirit may be ok to. A larger terror radius just gives her a larger area with no phasing sound.

All the rest suffer though as it just gives survivors a bigher warning that you're in the area.

That's usually why I take it on Myers, survivors usually freak out when you hit tier 3 and either hide or run. I run the same thing on Doc and it feel less effective both playstyle and bp and it just feels like more ability usage with less of a trade off. Might grind points into spirit, I like playing her but she is so add-on reliant like Doc.

scratched mirror myers with distressing bbq and chili trill of the hunt and any filler

might try that out, been looking at beast of prey instead of distressing since the point gain is stronger.

    use that as filler too
make sure you burn jigsaw piece and watch the points roll in iv made 1000000 bloodpoints in 4 hours

Looking at the wiki, I'm surprised that Myers is really the only killer with bp add ons.

I'm trying to get bp for the next killer and wondered what killer and effective perks get the most bp. So far been using The Shape with Distressing, Thrill of the Hunt, BBQ and Chili, and Ruin to get 50-60k every round.

    The Doctor BOIIIII

I'm getting 8-10k easier with myers than with doc so idk, more staring, less shocking imo plus it's easier to down people with and get bbq stacks. I'm using both though

EDIT: Scratch mirror gives garbage points cause it cant stack with distressing :/
