  • Do you even know what an exploit is, buddy?
    Camping is NOT an exploit.
Please tell me the mechanic that got "abused"
Rescues are meant to be a high risk action, that's why the reward is so high in terms of bloodpoints.
Looping on the other hand undermines a core mechanic of the game, which is that killer are faster than survivor. But running in circles negates that speedadvantage to an extend, because of the different sized collisionboxes.
Do the math, dude. Simple circle calculations.

  • Because looping is an exploit.
Sanctioned by the Devs, but per definition the abuse of a geometrical gamemechanic.

  • Yep, the hook resetting exhaustion is basically just catering to the survivor masses that want more extra chances on top of extra chances.

  • @Jim_Dandy said:
I can understand the chain rev issues as I read them, but doesn't his rampage last just a little long?

    How about NO ?
I don't see any need for it, because he has no other strength than this, he is mediocre at best in any other aspect of the game.
He has only his chainsaw going for him with the capability to down multiple targets and even that has build in drawbacks.
So you want to nerf his only strength, which isn't very good to begin with.

  • Freddy has some terrible bad mechanics going against him.

  • Freddy can't hit awake survivor, so you can bodyblock injured sleeping survivor if you are awake.
Freddy can't pick up sleeping downed victims while they recieve heals, so if you are awake you are safe to heal up dying victims until he puts you to sleep.

And yes, I do think this is borderline exploiting and needs to get fixed.

  • First things first; run Self Care whenever possible.

I'm new, and certain this has already been brought up, but I have a few issues that I would like to hear about.

    1. Why is the player punished for being the last alive? If never hooked, player is not afforded any attempt to hook escape, or allowed to fight for 800+ struggle points.
    2. Why does the killer not have a weight/speed penalty for carrying survivors? God knows there are enough hooks.
    3. Why is there no fall penalty for killers? This is exploited in nearly every game with killers shortcut dropping into basements instead of walking down stairs.

Again, I apologize if this has already been addressed.

    1. Because it would be a waste of time. The killer has nothing else to than just wait for your unhook attempts and insta downs you, so why bother?
    2. Because the carry speed already differs from the regular sped. Just check the wiki.
    3. Because killer are meant to be faster than survivor. How should they ever catch anybody if they would not?
  • Respect the 4%
    Give hatch to last survivor
Don't camp (aka give free unhooks every time)
    Don't tunnel
    Don't slug
Do not use: FD, BBQ, BM, Insid, Noed, Whispers, Rancor, DL, NC.

Then and only then you "might" get an upvote.

I think once this patch goes through we'll be seeing some killers running hangman's to not deal with the newly buffed sabo but aside from that, I don't think the meta perks will actually change. Nurses calling will still be powerful, ruin will continue to get cleansed in the first 45 seconds, enduring will continue to amaze and then there's bbq which every killer will continue to run for the bp bonus. It seems as if there won't be any other meta perks. The same can be said for survivors too with self care, ds, iron will and and exhaustion perk. We'll also probably still see adrenaline, Borrowed Time, WGLF, and urban too. I love to run different builds but when others run the same thing every match it gets pretty stale, and I'm pretty sure the devs said they don't wan to see the same perks run every single match. Anyway I'm excited to see more perks get buffed so we can see much more variety.

Killer never had a meta as solid as the survivor.

  • How can I deactivate the notifications for a thread??

  • I think it would be enough if the initial kick would do some extra regression to the gen.
Just to avoid wasting time and gaining nothing if a hidden survivor instantly click the gen again.
What brings me to the second point I would add, just tapping the gen should not stop the regression.
Survivor need to repair for 2-3 seconds to stop the regression.
That would get rid of cocky mid chase gen taps.

i think “balanced perspecive” is the highest compliment you can give someone around here.

that being said, ive seen dozens, literally dozens, of survivormains come claim to be killer mains while advocating for killer nerfs, only to check their steam profile and see zero total players sacrificed.

May be my naivety, but I just can't wrap my head around this. Why on earth would someone try to cripple the "other" side? What's this with so many people wanting ezpz games?

If I want it easy, I play Plants Vs Zombies or something. No salt there for sure.

there are many survivor players who exclusively play survivor and mostly in SWF, sure there is some people who exclusively play killer but that is much rarer, oftentimes these players only play the game to bully the killer, and want the game mechanics to enable that.

Absolute nonsense. The % of players in such a low player base (DbD) doing this would be 0.01%.

    Get a grip.

I know many people who play the game exclusively to do this, maybe you are just out of touch?

Your subjective experience is not the same as everyone else. I say again...get a grip.

If anyone is out of touch, it's you I'm afraid.

no kiddo, its you who is out of touch. yeet is 100% correct. you are simply too inexperienced at this game. you should stop posting nonsense and go play the game to get more experience.

Calling people "kiddo" and talking to them in a condescending way, deeming their opinion invalid because they don't meet your requirements in terms of experience... these things don't exactly reinforce your credibility, @Lowbei

Read some of his comments and you might get why lowbei snaps.

That's actually not true at all. Looping is not bannable.

If you're talking about Ochido, he was banned for:

    • exploit (several times) and showing how to use these exploits,
    • griefing (sandbag on purpose other survivors, ruining their game experience by coop with the killer),
    • witch hunting (asking his community to mass-report a killer he played against),
    • trying to avoid ban with several accounts,
    • hacking his progress (as an example, he had a P3-50 Clown at rank 1 the day after the release of Clown, which was rank reset, and with XP still at level 1... literally impossible without hack).

And for being a damn pedophile degenerate.

Wait . . . what? I knew about the guy that was (now formerly) in the Overwatch League, but what's this about Ochido? I don't follow or watch him, because just from what I hear he sounds like the same type of ass that xQc is over in Overwatch, but is there proof of what you say?

Ochido became infamous for asking his female followers for nude pics.
Sometimes even if he know they ain't adult.
"Proof"... kinda, several youtuber showed screenshots from girls telling the tale.
    If that's "proof", I don't know.

wow, its rly hard to not get complains in the end chat as killer, inst it? like, ive just had a round against a survivor (i played trapper) and ran noed. he instantly complained about that in the end chat, since noed OP, as we all know. in the nect round, he joined my lobby again and i played billy this time. no noed. he then complained about me playing billy, since billy OP, as we all know. like, what did he want me to do? play wraith with no perks and add ons? at rank 1? gosh, sometimes you just cant make it right for them...

See the list I made about "camping".
Some of these are just "using it".
I hooked someone in the basement and left, got called "basement camper".
Placed a trap near a hooked victim as Hag and left, teleported back on unhook -> "trap camper".
Ran back to the hook as he unhooked with chainsaw sprint and actually hit someone -> "range camper."
Patrolled the remaining 3 gens that are all clustered around the hook -> "proxy camper"
3 gens remaining far apart, 2 untouched, 1 at ~60% and the remaining 3 survivor all near that gen, so I defended it -> "gen camper"

    You get the picture, right?

And of course there are all the unfair/unfun/forbidden/toxic perks that killer are not allowed to use:
NC,BBQ, Dis, DL, FD, Insid, Noed, Ruin, Rancor, Remember me, Whispers.

  • I hear it all:
    facecamping
    hardcamping
    softcamping
    proxycamping
    patrolcamping
    rangecamping
    gencamping
    trapcamping
    basementcamping
    stealthcamping
    totemcamping
    bleedoutcamping
    gatecamping
    hatchcamping

    Healing should be difficult!!
Because he lost all his tools to pressure the gens, help in a chase, delay gens or help finding survivor.

The point is that killers are using different builds and doing well with said different builds and by that logic survivors shouldn't have to run 2-4 perk slots to counter killers etc.

Yes, killer can run different builds to affect specific mechanics of the game, but survivor can run their beloved meta perks all day and don't have to think about "different builds".

The healing speed nerf is really, really impactful.
I played against some sloppy butcher killers in the ptb and i can tell you, that selfcaring is NOT worth it anymore. Its really a dilemma as survivor, beceause you will lose if you heal yourself for 40s (thats literally half a gen), but doing gens injured is super risky and throwable.

Sounds like the Devs found a good balancing tool at last.
Only took them 2 years to figure out how to slow the game down.

Not sure wether thats the right approach though. I believe this will further divide 0k and 4k games. As snowballing is unstoppable now with 40s selfcare times, but genrush is still the same. Slowing down both sides main objective (gens vs kills) would be better imo. BUT im glad something has been done

At least hitting someone means something even if you lose them.
Survivor tanked hits for each other way to easy.

  • @George_Soros said:
I see this coming up very often. A lot of posters have been accused of being "survivor mains pretending to be killer mains".
This is ridiculous. The first issue with it is silly enough on its own; it's this paranoid distrust towards anyone who disagrees with you about the current hot issues ("crutch perks", trash/OP killers and so on). Come on. Be a little more charitable. More often than not, it's baseless to assume that someone is making a profile only to pretend to be "on the other side". Address their points only. Even if you're right about them being fake (which is rarely the case I think), you can't prove it. It only makes you look stupid and petty when you jump to claims that cannot be proven, only because your opinion differs from that of the other.

Second, this kind of accusation only betrays how lowly the accuser's mindset is. If you accuse someone of pretending to be "killer main" or whatever, it shows how unable you are to even imagine that someone is unbiased and thus it makes YOU look like someone who can't distance himself from his own self interests. When in fact, a lot of players play both sides and they have experiences, which, while they may not be the same as those of others', they're still valid experiences.

Which leads me to the third thing: "MAINS"? I simply don't get it. This game offers much more if you play both sides. The people whose opinions are worth the least are killer "mains" and survivor "mains". You won't be a very good player in either role if you don't play the other sometimes, plus this makes you more biased than anything. Also, sometimes it really sounds like it's some kind of identity, which is madness. "I AM a ... main", give me a break. You're just a guy who plays one half of a certain video game.

I wasn't expecting a Freddy buff this mid chapter. The devs had already mentioned before that they need more time for it. As far buffs for the killers are concerned, the healing time nerf is a buff for all the anti-heal killer perks. Thanatophobia, Dying Light, Coulrophobia, Sloppy Butcher are all insanely buffed now. It'll take upto 120 seconds to self care, if all these perks are used.

No survivor with 2 working brain cells will self heal in the terror radius of the killer. So coulrophobia would never apply.

To be fair. It's a very theoretical scenario. And kinda a form of overkill to use all of those perks at once. It only shows how it makes these perks stronger.
And you are right Coulrophobia is very situational perk. But even if it makes survivors stop healing and reposition themselves, it still delays the heal a bit. And besides it useful in certain slugging/heal scenario, when they ned to finish a heal before you approach.

There's actually been some killers running Coulrophobia with Distressing and either Nurses and or Unnerving Presence which makes healing difficult.

If a killer is using 2 to 4 perks all centered around making healing difficult… guess what?

killers don't need a nerf but they do need a few areas tweaked a bit. Like hillbilly's chainsaw hitting through corners and hooks. They need to fix the collision box's on that thing. Way too many times have I been hit even though i am around a corner already. Hag sucks only thing wrong with hag is there needs to be a limiter on how many traps can be placed next to each other. 2 or 3 traps is enough in one area. I have seen killers use almost all of them to "Guard" a hook, but that only kills one survivor and usually ends in a loss for the killer. So a limit on trap placement might force killers to not "camp" and actually play for once. Nurse lol I have only come across a handful of nurse's can actually catch me with a blink consistently. I have more trouble when they dont use blink and just chase me. So hillbilly= chainsaw hitbox. Hag= trap proximity. Nurse= no change. Like most of the killers say there isn't a need to nerf them you just got to learn the counters.

Your lag is no chainsaw hitbox issue.

You didn't make a mistake since he just randomly charged into where you were near nothing objective wise. But because you got found 1st you either have to loop him forever till he gives up which you killers hate or eventually get caught.

So it's not your fault in that sense that he found you 1st like that so why not give wiggle points but make them similar to struggle points.

But as someone else said you get diminishing returns and it should never be more than what the total would be for end game struggle.

So say max 250 1st time and max 150 the second time with 3rd time if you get that far 50 and nothing after that.

as long as its balanced sure, but then imo the killer should also get some points for carrying them. i take issue with the above posters saying they want extra pts for being carried after messing up, while saying the killer shouldnt also get pts for doing his objective by carrying them to a hook.

    The usual doublestandards.

Survivor get a reward if the struggle free, but want a reward for trying.

Killer get a reward for hooking, but I have never heard them asking to get a reward for losing the guy on the way to the hook.

what are you even talking about?

survivors get a reward if they struggle free after a carry, and killers get a reward if they hook after a carry.

    this isnt rocket science timmy.

if you want extra bp for being carried (after messing up by being downed) then you have to also give the killer extra bp for carrying (being successful).

its your lack of balanced perspective that makes us discard your opinions into the trash. dont worry, you arent alone, the trash is always full around here.

Ask some people who player longer than you for advice how to play against him, before you ask for unnecessary nerfs that would completely ruin a killer.

  • Actually it is hard to find a real good killer perk to call it "favorite".
Most of them have "nice" effects, but are to weak in general.
Or they feel like a necessity , like Ruin. No one "wants" to use Ruin, but they feel like they have to.

Killer actually have a hard time being "toxic" at all, because killing people is their job and smacking someone in the head ,which is usually a toxic move, is part of their job description.
Survivor just don't like slugging, because it does away with DS, BT, We'll make it, Deliverance, Kindred, WGLF, Saboteur.
And of course denies the juicy unhook points.

That is not true. Please stop making things up.
If you have lag or latency issues, maybe.
But anything else is just visual thing, the killer got the hook prompt and the hooking already begun and any delay in your wiggle bar still building up that's not about the "hook vacuum", the bar shoul djust vanish faster.
Also DS should not even appear after the animation already start.
