How long has this been an issue? I've played the game for awhile and have never had a survivor spawn in view like that.

At least a year now, since that's when i had a Meg spawn in front of my Hillbilly in the Killer Shack.

Really? I only heard them talk about this recently on Stream.

They fixed it. Then it broke again recently. Prob with the Spirit patch.

I don't think it's fair if the killer quits a match we lose a pip. A killer just quit my match and I lost a pip for it. You should keep your pip the way it is not lose one. If anything we should gain a pip because they quit a match. If it's internet connection then they don't but if they quit then they should lose and pip and the survivers should gain 1

You don't lose a pip, if it says that you did lose a pip when the killer disconnects then it's a visual bug.

    Depends on how they d/c.

You can still lose pips. Had it happen to me just two days ago, and everyone playing with me confirmed it. Hard not to notice three people dropping down from Rank 1.

  • I get that people have their opinions but three+blink Nurse is so triggering.
  • @ZombieGenesis

I know you're referring to me. I'll talk about the game with people who actually play and like Dead by Daylight. I'm not gonna entertain this victim complex nightmare delusion you've constructed in your head.
Relax broke, he's obviously talking about me.
It's so hard being toxic. 🔦✨✨✨🖱️🖱️🖱️
  • There's not that many Nurses playing at rank 1. At least not in PC.
Lots of Hillbillys, Spirits, Clowns, and Huntresses lately.
I'd like to see some hard data on the distribution of killers at Rank 1 and 2. I've been at the top for the entire season and it's gotten much better, IMO.
  • There would be no problem with deciding not to play with players based on how they play, if all players were able to do it. The devs need to understand this.

Don't like players that teabag? Have more hours than you? Play with friends? Use DS+SB? Click flashlights? Use too many toolboxes? Whine in endgame chat? Good. Dodge & block them.

But you should expect to be dodged & blocked by people that don't like how you play. Of course, killers ######### and whine about being dodged b/c of MLGA, when they themselves been freely dodging for years.

  • Because the devs think it's fair for killers to analyze steam profiles and cherry pick who they want to play versus.

Oh, but if you're playing survivor, you have to either d/c and/or ruin the game for your team if you want that same privilege.

  • @Tizzle said:

    @DeadByFlashlight said:
    Thats an intended feature.

No, this is the type of body blocking that will result in a ban if reported.

It reportable if the survivors cannot leave until they D/C.

If they're on a hook and they'll die anyway (and thus be able to leave the game without pressing Leave Match), there is no problem with that.

Similarly, if the survivors abused an exploit that made it impossible for Killers to move/play the game without D/Cing, that is also reportable.

  • @George_Soros said:
There's so much stupid whining goes on about "toxicity" and "salt" - most of it is just that people can't take defeat.

People would cry over tea-bagging or hook slapping even if they didn't lose.

Who the hell even knows what toxic means anymore?

  • @KillJiggy said:
If survivors couldn't look directly behind their player model, how would that impact the game.

I bet you don't have a screenshot within the last month of playing a match like that.

So, to show you face 4 DS and 4 BNP, you post a screenshot of 1 DS and 0 BNP?

SEE, THEY ALL USED SELF CARE

Hexes shouldn't even notify survivors, except at the lowest ranks.

What if nodding activated a Sprint Burst effect for chased survivor?

Jokes aside t-bagging (the killer) is for survivors that don't have literally anything better to do

I do it if I need the killer to chase me.

  • @suffering23 said:
the killer find it first, THEY DESERVE THE WIN!

No, they don't. Killers are not entitled to be rewarded for finding survivor objectives. And you act as if Killers lose if a survivor finds the hatch. They do not lose. Kills aren't miraculously reverted. A 3k doesn't turn into a loss, and getting a kill on the last survivor doesn't make it a win.

Your whole post hinges on the idea that killers deserve something for finding a hatch, as if the hatch was a killer objective. Let's make this clear. It is not. The hatch standoff is ass, but so is the idea of "last one to the hatch is a rotten egg".

The hatch is the necessary counterbalance for two features: (1) survivors killed are permanently removed from the game, and (2) survivors have significantly less chances of winning with fewer teammates. It should not be pointless for a survivor to try to survivor alone. I do not think the hatch should open so easily, but I also do not think the killer should interact with the hatch.

Considering that killer has only gotten easier, I think that's a good thing.

Really depends on how long it would make a match. While I don't enjoy a 5-minute match, I also don't want a 20+ minute match. It's just a personal preference. It's why I loved the 10 minute or so matches in Overwatch, but hated the upwards of 20-25 minute matches of Heroes of the Storm. And I refused to touch the sometimes 40 minute matches of games like League.

If we can find a sweet spot of 10-15 matches, then I'm all for it. Longer than that, especially since BP categories can be maxed out within that time and then it's just a waste of time vs reward, and I'd pass.

Don't get me wrong. I like to just "play." And when a game simply offers XP that leads to a free lootbox per level gained like in Overwatch, that's fine. But when I need to grind these BPs as a new player just to level a ######### load of character for these asinine teachable meta-parks, then having a match too long, and the BP reward stopping because I've maxed what I can earn that match, then I'm done with the match.

Back when Control Point had up to 5 rounds on OW competitive mode, it was absolutely cancerous to play.

  • @Blood_Coil_Viper said:
The last thing anyone wants is for this to become a pay to win game. Sorry it's better to just deal with the grind.

To me, I don't see a difference between the guy who has 100 hours to waste on the game and the guy who has $100 to waste on the game. Both are giving and getting more from the game than I am. It's not like paying for blood points gets your more than if you grind or gets you special BPs that accelerate your blood web. I don't see why the guy who has time should benefit more than the guy who has money. So long as what you get for your money isn't special, I don't see what the problem is.

100 hours is so much more expensive than $100.
  • Show us your Survivor. I would love to see it.

He's balls to the walls No Mither with no other perks. Because only real survivors use No Mither.
  • The amount of value you get out of NOED is absurdly high compared to the effort put in (zero). It's a crutch.
  • Not_Queen said they're working on the Spirits voice...
So maybe they'll do something about the volume of lobby noises too. Or at least tone down the Waluigi noises.

More killers thinking that hexes should only be positives, if you don't like losing perks, don't use them.

More "but my totem" yes, it's risk vs reward. Hopefully they make hexes more viable by making totems more stealthier, but stop trying to make hexes into reward + reward.

Could you name me some survivor "risk vs reward" or "high risk, high reward" perks?
Because killers can´t really destroy survivor perks.
Unlike survivors, which just have to hold m1 to remove a perk.

Pharmacy. Deliverance. Hope. Adrenaline. Wake Up! OoO. SS.
Cause let me tell you, the worst thing to see when running Pharmacy is Cut Coin offerings.
Unless you are stipulating that every perk that cannot be literally deactivated by killers is not a "risk perk". In which case, you're forgetting that we play an asymmetrical game, and that it's unreasonable for the killer to be walking around disabling survivor perks.

Not mad im downed mad you make me wait around 4 min while you go on a treasure hunt. I never thought about the killer who does this till now. After seeing how salty. Next time i get left and close my app i will smile just a bit thank you for this post. GG

Lol I gotta admit, I always feel like dcing when left on the floor. It's a huge waste of my time and I'd rather watch the remaining survivor play.
The bleed out timer is just way too long.
  • Seconded. I'm tired of MacMillan.
  • Dumb buff. Aura reading is powerful enough as it is.
But Rancor should work with her ability. It only makes sense since it's hers. It's not aura reading anyway.

last survivor doesn't get an escape attempt because the killer would just knock you down straight away again anyway, its solely to save time

That's over 2k points taken away because of that.
They should change it so that attempts are allowed for 20s and "last survivor points" are given.
And killers should be allowed to Mori last survivor if they've been hooked already by default.
  • No, people would whine and moan if these changes did not go through on the PTB.
The devs are the only ones looking objectively.
  • Keys are useless 99% of the time. At best they're good for memes.
Remove them or not, it won't make a discernable difference.

They've just explained why on stream, it benefitted SWF teams too much, and it didn't feel great.

I guess you guys want more perks that specifically help SWF play?

Not like people didn't expect it.
Solo survivors can't tell that you have Decisive and won't be able to coordinate pallet and flashlight saves as perfectly as SWF.
    Oh well.

Ebony Mori brings the horror aspect back into the game and makes people not be so cocky or bold

  • Usually you can determine really fast whether a certain person has ever played survivor/killer properly or whether he only plays one role

    How?

or, if multiple ppl use it, all non obsessions will have a useless perk.
that way its a high risk - high reward perk, like its supposed to be.
i mean, us killers dont get any extra perks for an destroyed totem, so why should you survivors get a 5th one? i mean, this useless perk slot thing is nothing new for the game, at least for killers. we all know that feeling when we are playing the game with only 3 perks and the 4th one (noed) is supposed to have an effect in the end game, but hey! all totems cleansed -> we played a whole round with only 3 perks.

Having survivors spend time cleansing every totem is enough. It's better than Ruin in most cases.

    What do you exactly mean?

5 perk slots so that when the Hex perk is gone, it gets replaced with something different.

Yeah but what about someone who takes all 4 perk slots as hex ?
But the idea is good, hex totems get destroyed way to fast and by replacing them it doesn't hurt as much as now.
However, what is ur opinion about my DS nerf idea?
Spawn six totems instead of five? 🤷‍♀️
  • Orion said:

Could we get the same change for Hex perks?

    What do you exactly mean?
Hexes to be replaced with a fifth perk when cleansed.
Tbh they should just add a fifth, hex only perk.

    people should play both sides.

i think “balanced perspecive” is the highest compliment you can give someone around here.

that being said, ive seen dozens, literally dozens, of survivormains come claim to be killer mains while advocating for killer nerfs, only to check their steam profile and see zero total players sacrificed.

May be my naivety, but I just can't wrap my head around this. Why on earth would someone try to cripple the "other" side? What's this with so many people wanting ezpz games?
If I want it easy, I play Plants Vs Zombies or something. No salt there for sure.

there are many survivor players who exclusively play survivor and mostly in SWF, sure there is some people who exclusively play killer but that is much rarer, oftentimes these players only play the game to bully the killer, and want the game mechanics to enable that.

Absolute nonsense. The % of players in such a low player base (DbD) doing this would be 0.01%.

    Get a grip.

Excuse me, I thought all survivors unanimously agreed that we only played with each other to bully killers. Otherwise we are only allowed to bully each other.
  • I get salty every time I drop.
But then I pip back up and get confused as to why I'm even at Rank 1 to begin with.

Oh and survivors are now getting the 2x depip as if they dc'd when the killers basically finding ways to forcibly dc everyone.

    Is this happening a lot?

It happens on console, not for PC.

If the killer quits the game, the emblems will show it as a depip but if you look closely at the "rank progress" it will say 0. Also, it shows yours rank lower on the scoreboard but when you exit the lobby to the menu your rank will be what it was before the game started.

If the killer DC's and you lose rank then it was a DC on your end not theirs. That's the only time I've lost rank from a DC is because the connection spiked and I'm the only one to get booted from the game. And no it's not my connection, this sort of thing only happens if I stay in a game with red ping, hence why I avoid those lobbies whenever I can.

    You play on console?
