No you don’t want a balanced game

There’s no way to make this game scary again for existing players. If you play it often enough it loses any of its fear factor, because the familiar isn’t scary, and any changes you made to make it scary would become mundane eventually. The only way to change this would be to change the way the game works on a fundamental level every few weeks, which I think most people can agree is not a reasonable ask.
Get rid of the terror radius and spine chill
-
I’ve been playing killer and survivor rank one for three years so I know my #########
when you get a billy that knows what he’s doing, and 4 survivors who know what they’re doing, in the long run you get the best matches for both sides
its balanced
people who complain about billy don’t know ######### but think they do
and I’m saying this from 99% from a survivors perspective against billy because in 3 years I’ve only used him like 5 times as killer lol
-
I swear most of my pips as a survivor have been against billy. You have to know how to play him. People don’t patrol with him either which results in quick unhooks and heals for emblems.
game flow On average can be really good for both billy and all survivors as long as everyone knows what they’re doing. Sometimes billy gets the edge and sometimes survivors get the edge.
people who complain about billy just aren’t good enough at this game yet.

I think you and everyone like you should play both sides. That’s the issue in this game. Killers think survivors are entitled and survivors think killers are op try hards. If you play both sides you get to not only become a better player, but also develop a better understanding and appreciation for what each other have to deal with. Seriously, people who complain non stop on here usually only main one side and it shows.
I’ve been playing both sides equally for three years
-
I’ve been playing this game for 3 years. I play survivor and killer equally, rank one on both.
on the old killer ranking system I got to rank one the first time using only Michael by camping red ranked SwF crews and my inbox would receive TONS of salt it was so funny.
I always preferred playing red ranked SwF because I knew from being a survivor main before that, SwF crews have a lot of peer pressure to be altruistic, so I would camp with Michael and have tier 3 locked and loaded and destroy the ######### out of all of them.
the bottom line is that this game has to become scary again. When I first started playing survivor 4 years ago I was scared, now I run to the middle gen first and if I get chased first, so what.
more than two survivors escaping should be rare. Killers shouldn’t have a terror radius.
i almost know this game inside and out
the devs don’t understand that survivor mains are going to be the end of this game because they don’t care about this game
-
The old ranking system was better. You needed two kills and a hook to rank up.
-
I’ve had a couple memorable games with autodidact where we were getting destroyed early. But I got 5 tokens really early also and kept getting skill checks. Made some huge comebacks. Felt like Batman.
-
When I first tried to get to rank one with killer using only michael I didn’t use noed. I would get to red ranks. But getting to rank one was impossible.
i ended up saying ######### it. You guys wanna get to end game so fast? I’m gonna camp and run NOED.
i started to absolutely destroy red rank SWF crews. I actually preferred playing them because they are overly altruistic.
-
Map design and long chases are the problem
-
Any killer is good with ultra rares
-
My favourite killer is trapper, after watching otzdarva is got a hell of a lot better with him without using whispers.
if I can get to rank one with trapper not using whispers, then you don’t need whispers

People dont just equip whispers for that LAST guy. Alot of times it can be really handy for finding the FIRST guy, as well as keeping you from checking out an area that nobody is at. Its a valuable perk, even when all 4 survivors are alive.
If you’re good enough you won’t need whispers for the first guy or any guy, you’ll get those 3-4 kills enough of the time
-
Stepping in traps should put someone in the dying state no matter what
-
With EGC whispers isn’t needed as much anymore because as killer you should be satisfied with 3 kills.
but maybe it could get louder as you are closer to a survivor
-
Gens should be like autodidact
the beginning couple are longest to finish because you are still learning them
-
But isn’t it often that you can have a couple survivors who start alone and they play it safe and not even get on a gen?
and by the time you down someone and hook them no more than one gen is done?
you know what I’m trying to say?
-
On the old system where you needed kills to rank up, once I realized this, I started strategizing around the end game. I only used Michael and my goal was to get to rank one.
I camped the first guy to death. I would have tier 3 locked and loaded of anyone came near. If they didn’t get gens done, which was 99% of the time they were scrwed.
-
been Myers main for two years. Used to destroy red ranked SwF on old killer pip system but can’t do it anymore with that strategy.
against strong survivors it’s not good enough to have tier 3 locked and loaded only to down one survivor. With michael you should wait for the best opportunity to pop tier 3 when two survivors are near each other. Or run infectious fright.
on the chaser——-tracker spectrum, Michael is in the middle. It’s probably best to have builds that slow the game down.
dying light, thana, sloppy
4th perk take your pick.
infectious? Nurses? NOED? Monitor?
-
You know someone is a newbie when.
I swear most of my pips in two years is against billy because he doesn’t cAmp. People generally run bbq with him and take off after a hook. Very easy unhooks.
once you learn how to juke his chainsaw in the open and not drop pallets when not needed, he becomes a beatable killer.
definitely most overrated killer in the game because of people like you who don’t know how to counter him.
I used to hate going up against him until I got got good.
he’s gotta be the most balanced killer in the game.
-
I used to camp and destroy red rank SwF teams with Michael and get all the toxicity in my messages. Amazing times. But you can’t camp anymore and pip.
-
I started slaughtering rank one SWF teams because they are so altruistic
-
I camped my way all the way to rank one for the first time using only Michael on the old system where you needed 9 points to pip up.
Camp the first person to death, anyone comes close? Have tier 3 locked and loaded at 99%.
Hook the next person for 5 points. Don’t cAmp them. The third person I camp to death for 9 points.

If it's on PS4, it could just be lag. I think our average ping is worse than PC thanks to the smaller playerbase.
Yeah I play on ps4
fucj I swear it turns a 4k into a 2k or nothing
-
Sorry wasn’t specific. Good for the killer.
-
I have absolutely no idea what it looks like from the perspective of statistics, but it is easy to understand that the survivors must have been 4 times more than the killers, as there are 5 people, 4 survivors and 1 killer for one game.
More people would become educated on how to play this game
-
i was confused
i'm not home right now but all i recall is i bought michael and the plague, but plague was unlocked

Hello
The question you are asking is strange and the answer is very obvious
Every game is always different in some sort of way.
It is like asking a chess player why he is not getting tired of this game. Doing always these moves, beat those peaces, defeate the enemy...
every game is different. Had tons of different spots that occur.

Myers is not killer to chase people with (he is not bad at this, 115% is still 115%), he excels at surprise hits. M&a, nurses and smart t3 timing is the way.
yeah smart t3 timing is huge
save it to down multiple people if possible
-
by far my most used killer the past 2 years, i've never used billy or nurse except for dailies. he's the reason why i bought the game.
on my way to rank one with him on the old system where you needed 9 points i tried many strategies and perk variations.
i began camping with him and started destroying rank 1 SWF teams because they are highly altruistic, i knew from playing SWF the peer pressure to be altruistic
however, cant get to rank one camping anymore
infectious fright taught me something else about michael at top ranks, i havent tried getting to rank one with him in a long time, but at higher ranks you cant just down 1 survivor per each tier 3 anymore, like 99% tier 3 and pop it to simply down one survivor alone,
you gotta save it until two survivors are near each other, and down them both
end game collapse means i dont have to use whispers on him anymore
at the beginning of the match, you gotta go to the perimeter of the map and then look to stalk from that angle. never walk across the middle of the map, more likely to catch people off guard, because if you walk across the middle and expose your identity, theyre gonna be on high alert
when used optimally, michael is neutral against looping, you just gotta stalk to 99%, sooner or later you'll either down this guy, or he'll lead you to someone else
NOED and bloodhound, with agitationand iron grasp for basement, or brutal and fire up, were combinations that got me to rank one with him, but that was with my camping strategy to exploit the old system

I really like the idea. I've been playing a lot of Trapper lately and the games are often essentially over before I get half my traps down.
Why not chase first and set traps after?
-
And I got to rank one only using Michael and trapper.
-
I’ve been playing this game for two years.
i would say my survivor skills are 9/10. I only became a really good survivor AFTER learning what it takes to be a rank one killer, and that’s when you needed those 9 points to get a pip. I would hit a huge wall at rank 2-3.
But I had to learn and observe rank 1 survivors and what’s it takes to beat them. As killer I would see what they would do against me and I would started using those playable as survivor. I became much better in both aspects of the game.
The problem with dbd is there is Tons of ignorance going around that it can be maddening
-
im a rank one survivor and killer
i've always said closing the hatch would make the hatch useless
but with a time limit to escape on top of it??? hahahahhahaha
i had OOO and sole survivor against a wraith at shelter woods once, 4 gens remaining so i was stuck, had to complete a gen, i even found a yellow toolbox,
even with seeing the wraith wherever he was, there simply wasnt enough time to get a gen done.
-
i would say he's the most overrated killer in the game, i would bet most of my pips since emblem system was released are against billies
-
honestly, once i got good as survivor and especially as killer, rank one, billy became a lot easier to beat.
unless he has the turning addons, i approach him similar to the doctor
you can even drop pallets early against him and get to every pallet and 3 gens will be done at least.
-
i've always thought that perks should be split up into 4 categories and you can only choose one from each
no self care and botany for instance
no we'll make it and bowwoed time
no ds and dead hard

Autodidact
I love this perk. A clown was destroying us once. But I got 5 tokens very early and it turned the game around. He was gonna 4k us before 3 gens were done for sure. I think everyone was struggling. But two of us ended up escaping through the gates.
-
Git gud
-
Just make it that you can’t escape from a trap unless someone helps you or the trapper hits you. At least that gets someone off a gen or something.
-
Bbq came out like right after I started playing the game lol
-
Survivors get a huge thrill out of the things you mentions at the killers expense. Heck I do them too. It’s hilarious on one side but extremely agitating for the other.
-
I’m in the same boat. Got this game August 2017. And my first match was also in lery’s lol. Didn’t know what the ######### I was doing. Hiding in lockers so scared. Now I’m almost a master at this game. I’m really good. As survivor it’s it scary any more at all, unless I’m getting jump scares against Michael I wish I could play against Michael at lerys scratched mirror every match it’s exhilirating
They gotta do what they have to do to minimize terror radius’ drastically make the game scary again
the game is way too survivor sided in development. SwF makes the game even easier. I can literally be falling asleep while playing as survivor, a missed skill check wakes me up and I continue lol.
The only killers you can get to rank one with are spirit billy nurse. I used to get to rank one with Michael but not anymore because I can’t camp the first guy anymore
Ive has this game almost two years, I never use billy nurse and spirit just trapper and Michael
-
I’ve played this game for two years and used self care like 5 times.
Small game. The perk where you suck a lot of c-ocks
-
Getting a RBT off at the last second on the first box after the gates were powered
-
Got to rank gone camping and getting less than 10k points all the time lol
-
I camped my way all the way to rank one using only Michael.
-
Okay so I might as well go back to camping and 4k
-
Camping is a good way to depip now. You’re almost guaranteed a depip. But you get some points too. And a 4k so you feel some accomplishment.
-
i swear they made the cornfield thicker a couple months ago
