Oni player here. Survivors shouldn't be punished by doing the only things they can attempt to do to escape a killer.
-
Adds a little spice.
Don't know why you would use it though considering Monitor & Abuse is literally just a better version of it

Funny how you misspelled survivors as newer players. Glad I could help you with that.
Ruin being the way it was forced me to learn how to more consistently hit Great Skill Checks. Better players weren't hindered by Ruin nearly as much as newer players
-
It was stupid af and was too volatile
It punished newer players
Prevented vets from doing anything with newer players
It was a gamble as to how well it would work because skill checks are inconsistent.
It made no sense as a perk. It's better now on killers who can actually keep up pressure like Billy, Nurse, Spirit, Oni, etc.
-
I wish they'd just change No One Left Behind and Left Behind to actually be useful. Even some love to No Mither would be amazing.

And here we have the whole reason we need the DC penalty back.
I don't DC. It's just a fact that it isn't worth the effort. You get more BP and have a better chance of pipping if you just die early and get into another game entirely.
-
Mori games are not worth playing.
-
You do realize how insane this topic is right?
Don't fix broken hit validation because some killers won't be able to hit anyone? #########.
This ain't it and you know it.
-
I just wish it would activate frame 1
-
By strategic you mean helplessly terrible and poorly designed
-
Because I'm not a whiner that can't handle losing a few games as a killer.
You can lose as a killer. Get over it. Get better.
NO ONE is forcing you to play one side.

He really isn't a bad killer. He can be quite fun to play against and applies good pressure on the map to stop survivors from doing gens.
Objectively speaking he's one of the worst. No map pressure, no chase pressure that's effective because you're stunned for 4 seconds if the power de-activates, you could use your power to traverse the map but then you miss out on being able to hit survivors with it.
He's punished for doing well and the only thing he can really do is waste time. He just doesn't perform.
-
Smaller sizes on most of them make it better for stealthy plays or juking. You can't do that on the tall ass ######### that are David and Francis. Pretty much all the males are much more discernible immediately than the females.
It's also because they have the better cosmetics.

Well I understand that it isnt as generally useful but then wouldn't it promote adjusting perks more frequently so that more survs are appealing? After all it is just 1 perk slot and at some point you'll go for the adept achievement
1 perk slot can be the difference between escaping or getting your ass shoved in.

Survivors have the map, that is their power. Killers have powers to help overcome the map.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1410661#Comment_1410661
I have the unfortunate luck to play on a region that lacks potatoes. I get nothing but streamer quality survivors, so your version of pressure is different than mine. I juggle, I pressure gens, I three gen, makes zero difference. Do I lose in 5 minutes, or do I lose in 10?
The map isn't their power LOL their power comes from their perks otherwise they're helpless against good killers. Killers are inherently faster than survivors and that isn't tied to their power.

Well it would mean you could diversify your playstyle by using 1 of his perks no? Not one of Steve's perks is worth even considering?
Second wind is his only perk worth using. Even then it's very gimmicky compared to a bunch of other perks I like to use such as Spine Chill, Resilience, Botany, Dead Hard, etc.
I like to be diverse, but in high ranks a perk like Second Wind just holds you back.
-
These survivors know Repressed Alliance now exists right?

I mean Nyone could still pick DS or Dead Hard I'm just saying that if I play Jane I could choose Solidarity and still use DS and Dead Hard, but 1 perk came from Jane
Why would I play Steve, who has 3 garbage teachables? It would be objectively worse to play a character I like.
-
It would be David or Laurie spam.

Same can apply to perks as well. Killer perks are held to a standard that survivor perks just aren't. Most killer perks have a cost, requirement, cooldown, limitation, etc or multiple at once. None of those standards apply to most the meta survivor perks.
Like look at all the second chance survivor perks like DS, BT or Unbreakable for example. All game swinging effects with no cost or downside, no requirement, zero skill needed, etc etc. You just equip them and do everything just as normally as you always would, no change.
It's almost like killers have abilities that already help them in the game and survivors don't

We've been requesting a method to give points to the survivor who's being camped.
"Distraction" points in Altruism.
It would also be nice if I was actually rewarded for wasting time. I loop him for a ######### ton of time and end up barely getting over 10k BP because I couldn't do any gens or heal anyone.
-
@GreezyWeezy said:
You should have lured him away from the basement. Especially after wasting his time long enough for 3 gens to pop.
It gets to a point where I don't have much choice. I ran out loop spots and pallets in the general area I was keeping him in and I was forced to head toward that direction. Even without it he had Agitation and Iron Grasp. There almost no way I wouldn't be sent to the basement even if I was a mile away from where it spawned.
-
@Peanits said:
Definitely wouldn't go that far. If you only used it to camp the cage and then tunnel them knowing full well that Borrowed Time or Decisive Strike wouldn't activate, then sure, it's going to be less appealing now (as it should be). Under normal circumstances, however, it still has benefits. Putting them in a cage sends them as far away from you as it can, so if you know all the other survivors are close, you can force them to go across the map to save them. It also allows you to completely avoid flashlight or pallet saves, and saves you the time you would spend picking them up and bringing them to a hook.
Peanits, the voice of reason here who isn't afraid to call out whiners on their BS.
-
This change won't affect PH players who want to play normally. They literally only affect Pyramid head players who wanted to camp. It's an ability that negates a ton of perks on survivors. I don't like that they removed the aura of the cages but it doesn't really matter at the end of the day if you aren't camping or tunneling.
-
You do realize that caging still completely negates DS, Borrowed Time, Kindred, and pretty much every other hook perk right? It's way too oppressive for the killer to be able to camp so effectively at that location with pretty much 0 counterplay. It especially sucked for Solo Survivors.
-
For an ability that can negate many anti-tunneling and camping perks, it's pretty oppressive to be able to see exactly where a cage is at all times. *Not to mention moris work on cages*

Kill? I thought you just had to hook the survivor 25 times. (Dwight, Claud, Meg, whoevers face the last mask is)
You have to sacrifice them
-
It's not a stupid question. It isn't stated in game anywhere at all.
For each mask you have to kill the respective survivor 25 times. It's harder than it used to be as more people are playing the newer fresher survivors so it might take a while.
-
You're playing Legion. Even after their nerfs they're still an incredibly annoying killer.
That's why they're my main.

My theory is that:
Ruin was nerfed to stop killers from using it because devs didn't want to fix totem spawns. Even though they stated, they said themselves they were going to work hard on improving their spawns.
80% of killers used Ruin, now the number dropped, and the totem discussion no longer exists.
GG devs. You got us with Nurse, and you got us with Ruin.
Huh? For skilled players ruin didn't matter and for newer players it was too punishing. They made it more consistent and more powerful by allowing any killer that runs it to have better control over gens.
-
They're annoying if you're garbage lol. Especially in the case of DS and Doc.

@Mozzie said:
The way you describe your grievance with mori's is as if this is an actual competitive game. It isn't. Very little in this game is balanced, for killers and survivors alike. The same argument can be used by killer's with keys or insta heals etc.
I Mentioned keys already as a problem. Theyre basically the Moris of the survivor items. Instaheals aren't instant anymore and require a lot more skill to actually utilize properly. Unless you're using for the people you can't fully heal survivors with one button press anymore. Even with FTP you're trading your health state for theirs.
-
Much better for characters such as legion who can waste a lot of survivor time. I like it more than the original however I do miss being able to show off my ability to consistently hit great skill checks
-
they gave out exclusive cosmetics to everyone a while ago.
-
Ok
-
Good Freddie's can keep control of objectives super easily and can keep survivors from getting to certain gens or even utilizing powerful loops spots.
He even directly counters Borrowed Time which is one of the best survivor perks right now.
-
Self care isn't a perk you can use on its own and rely on. You need Botany Knowledge otherwise it's a time waster. I used to run it all the time with resilience but I switched it out for spine chill.
15% more vaulting speed babey
-
Just keep it as is and make it unusable at lockers. If it's that big of an issue it thats really all that should be changed.

punishing killers for not doing their jobs? hmmmm
If we're talking about making killers get a much larger net loss of BP if they're camping. Sure. But why everything else? It makes no sense to remove points stalling a survivor out of EGC.

Just 360 him 4Head. On a serious note, you can just like get lucky in baiting him or something, and have him be in a tantrum and not get a single down. It's all down to the killer and how patient he is,and how lucky you get tbh. Other than that, you can just do gens.
Yeah that's usually the strat I opt for. A camping Cannibal is basically unstoppable, but it IS easier when against a killer that doesn't have an instant down just because you can bait out a hit.
-
It should just give you tokens for healing to be honest. I have no clue why the devs just haven't budged on this. It makes no sense that BBQ can be used while playing normally; offer a pretty good aura read alongside it (granted it has counters) yet they won't let survivors even have an easy way to gain bloodpoints by playing normally WITHOUT any added bonuses.
Survivors already earn a much lower average income of BP as is. WGLF being a garbage perk just makes it worse.
-
I'm about rank 8 on Survivor right now and I've consistently gotten red ranked killers.
-
what's happening?
-
Where can I find the new perks?
-
"haha survivor bad, killer good. Please upvote guys come on pleeaaasse"
