  • It would be better if it just included effects like exposed, oblivious and broken in it's 20% reduction. It could also get a timer where once every minute or 2 it clears an effect, or maybe it just cleanses indefinite effects like mangled. If they did that though, it would probably only be a temporary cleanse to things like tier 3 exposed.

This happens all the time. It happened to me on both xbox one x and original xbox one. This been going on a long time and the devs don't care.

Can't even upload a video as it happens as soon as the match starts.

EXACTLY! I'm pissed this time though is because I lost one of my stolen sketchbook addons which I only have 2 more of and I also got a whole 12 minute penalty for something I didn't even do! I don't even DC as killer because I don't play killer so I don't get why I got a 12 minute ban

Funnily enough, there is a topic right now on the fact that OoO is NOT being looked into because "The Survivors who use it don't escape often".

Jee, Ethan, I WONDER WHY THAT COULD BE...

Shouldn't they rework it BECAUSE they don't escape that often? Their excuse is kinda dumb.

  • I'd love to be able to gift my friends skins <3

People are running around saying hackers everywhere and I tell you this is just untrue. I'm not saying there aren't because I know there are.

In over a year of daily gameplay (3-4) hours a day in red ranks I've only seen one hacker.

You guys' are acting like this game has rampant hackers like old PUBG.

Yeah... Most those "Lag Switchers" aren't actually lag switching, its just the game's terrible frames.

Brother, at no point did I mention that I am not amused by playing as an assassin, in my case I have no problem staying at rank 1.

My post was more focused on what I have seen in general regarding the subject, many players complain about that, but if you only care about yourself and not that the game thrives, well, I respect your point of view.

Your "post" is you screeching about gen rushing

I main survivor. I think getting chased is the best part of the game and it improves your over all skill. Going for flashlight saves and sabos are also really fun. I also find it funny when the killer gets pissed off when you run them for too long.

I like survivor because I can be the teams support since contrary to their names, the Doctor and Nurse do NOT heal people. Shocking, isn't it?

No but, seriously please stop acting like BHVR doesn’t do so much for their players. It’s ridiculous.

The charms and stuff are really cute and I personally want to finish the rift just for the Legion skin and unicorn charm but this isn't really an event.... It COULD be if they made it so you could collect the serum like you normally could during the event or so the visceral cankers spawned naturally during the event and you could get serum from those. And I'm also really pissed though with how they did the killer addon! You can't use your power until you use the addon, you can't hit while using the addon and you cant even use the addon after the event! If I were to do something to the addon I would either remove it and make it so every time a killer hooked a survivor on a cankerous hook you gained the ability to use the lunge or I would make it so you could use your power and the addon separately. As for the survivor items and addons..... They really aren't that good (Except the serum) The medkit is just a yellow medkit that Blendettes will never use because it exposes you from 10 years away, the flashlight is literally just a yellow flashlight with a ghost effect you barely see and the addon makes it harder to blind the killer. I like all of the concepts of the Halloween event items and addons but most of them aren't that good 🤷. Again, I loved the skins and unicorn charm but that really isn't an event at all. We can buy the skins any time and the visceral cankers spawn with a challenge which makes this event just... not really existent? There's nothing special to do (again, visceral cankers don't count since you can do the rift any time and thus spawn them in any time), the items and addons aren't anything special and once again killers get the short end of the stick in terms of the event.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/200322/2-killer-gen-nerfs-ooo-is-ok-though%F0%9F%A4%AF

    1) Comparing DS & Pop again? The Pop nerf barely makes a difference most of the time while nerfing DS to 45s will make it useless. If DS needs a nerf it needs a full on rework, not a timer reduction which would make it useless.

    2) Admittedly the nerf was unneeded, but now they made tier 3 useful. The 96m range doesn’t make a difference considering length wise each map is 128m maximum.

    3) OoO doesn’t make too much of a difference. Chances are SWF will know your location and will be relaying it via comms anyway, OoO is literally just the icing on the cake. It only seriously negatively affects Trapper & Hag, while stealth killers are naturally immune to it when using their power. Also there’s plenty of perks that can give you the undetectable status effect & there’s third seal to counter aura reading perks.

    4) Ah yes, the typical “survivors buy more cosmetics” argument.

    5) “While ignoring an entire forum full of legitimate comparisons to DS” Again, not legitimate comparisons as you can’t just reduce the timer of DS without gutting it. It needs a full on rework.

    6) How is OoO toxic? Using perks is toxic now? Just because some players play unfavourably with the perk equipped doesn’t make it the most toxic perk in the game.

The current problem with OoO is since it's viewed as toxic to use it now people who use it are tunneled and the devs are using it as an excuse to not change the perk. The perk is in a weird limbo where its both good and bad and also not used. I personally think a full rework would do it some good so people will stop complaining about it and maybe it'll change up the meta 🤷

  • Even by their logic it should be changed since statistically people using it die more..... Just saying 🤷

not the existence, but as i've seen a couple of times now, apparently the devs said that such organization exists in each reality the entity takes people from, as in these cults are what gives it access to these realities. IF i understood things correctly. if that is the case, that's what I am unhappy with. the idea that the entity needs a bunch of morons before it can interact with a timeline.

I remember reading somewhere that the entity targets dimensions that are dystopias or are generally full of more despair and that can't manipulate auric particles. I think this was from the first tome's observer logs? Apparently some dimensions have the ability to control the auric particles I guess and make them into stuff (Like clothing) which would explain why it's one of the in game currencies. I don't think it only comes when it summoned but I think that can contribute to it's arrival.

The game can be as killer sided or as survivor sided as you want it to be. With all of these nucearly strong offerings, items, perk combinations and overpowered strategies on both sides you can easily tilt matches in whatever side.

I don't think there's any solo queue team that can win against a half decent killer with a mori and strong add-ons hard tunneling off hook, as I don't think there's any killer that can win against an omega sweat squat with map offerings, keys, toolboxes and whatever.

I really agree with this! People tend to say "keys are broken" But then say "yeah, but moris are broken so it's only fair". Ignoring one problem or saying one unbalanced thing fixes another isn't fixing anything.

So aside from the fact that PC has an advantage over console players there's no difference, right? I mean, who cares that PC players have better mobility, better accuracy, higher sensitivity, the ability to turn down their graphics quality and easily see through tiny holes and remove pretty much all fog from the game and get to actually see through the corn. But they have no advantage

Which by the way, this whole conversation is irrelevant to the post as a whole because I was talking about sweat and toxicity and not advantages PC has over console

I have, I did and I will continue to do so.

Here's a fact for you, platform does not matter. Do Nurse and Huntress perform better on PC due to accuracy? yes. Do survivors have better movement on PC because of sharper controls? yes. Solution? Allow KB+M on console. Apart from these things, console and PC are no different to each other. People will be horrible regardless of what platform they are on, if they play badly or in a toxic manner, platform does not matter.

The main point people make, and I will parrot, is that you don't know you if you're facing PC players or not, unless you're on that platform. So, stop trying to or continue to incite platform wars when most of us adults have already realised that what platform you play on doesn't matter, no one cares, next.

• Listen, I just said it was possible. You could probably do it with 2 gens if you use 2 brand new parts on each gen with resilience, prove thyself, streetwise, spine chill and detective's hunch or this is not happening or something like that

I played best as I could. Before crossplay happened I was rank one for a good few months and then after crossplay I kept getting matched with either SWF or just people that are literally gods with 10,000 hours in the game.

Well.... Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if you WERE red rank before crossplay. PC players have a significant advantage over console players in terms of the fact they can turn their graphics quality to low and actually see through stuff and their ability to actually 360 the killer. The same goes the other way around where the PC killers have an advantage over console survivor because of their sensitivity. I pretty much never saw billy until crossplay where now I'm seeing P3 or legacy billys that eat me. I just with you could disable crossplay with specific platforms because I would instantly turn off PC

Anyone who plays the game a lot and understands basic looping can team up with similar skilled players with coms and run through any skilled killer player the game is just not balanced for SWF.

Ok, so normally when I post on this forum I'm mad because I got out gamered by neckbeards with 5,000,000 hours in dead by daylight and are also a full SWF. This is not one of those times. SWF and genspeeds are still major issues. I played two games, one yesterday and one today, where I got slaughtered by a full SWF SWAT Team doing everything in their power to make killers become survivors on Mount Ormond Resort. I used to like this map, but now I can only be scared that the first gen will pop in less than ten seconds. No joke, when I loaded into the match and it did the little spinaroo, DISCORDANCE HAD ALREADY PROCKED ME BEFORE I COULD EVEN MOVE. When I got to the gen it was finished. This was me, a spirit, going to the opposite side of the map, because I know at least two survivors are on a gen, and it's already gone, I phased and everything. Then, 12 seconds later while I'm in a chase with a survivor, discordance procks once again, for five seconds, and a gen pops again before I could get there. To make a long story short I only got my only hooks that round after I grabbed a Dwight off a gen and hooked him in the basement where my only option was to camp him. Why? There was only one gen left, heck, I hooked him, tried to leave the basement, and the final gen popped. I dicided I should try to camp him to get at least one hook. In comes two survivors running in like their two buddies in a sitcom and try to save their Elf hatted, ear piece wearing friend. I hit a Lisa that comes in and she jumps into a locker to try to give me head, I grab and hook her. In comes the Jake juking like he's playing dodgeball and the only person left. He baits me into hitting the Lisa and steals her then promptly walks into a corner. "Why would he do this?" I ponder and I walk towards him think there's no one else in the basement, out jumps the elf Dwight from a locker, giving The Spirit the fastest head she's ever gotten at a record breaking 5 seconds. Out they run where the Jake and Dwight do loops w/ friends and the Jake bodyblocks the Dwight until they run to the 99'ed exit gate, open it, and make The Spirit fall into a pile of disembodied parts and sadness. Granted this turned from an explanation on why genspeeds and SWFs are unfair and the furthest thing from balanced into a story about how I suck at Spirit and failed at basement camping on Ormond, but I still think the basement part ties into the SWF part.

Sorry I couldn't take a screenshot, I play on console. Also, two of the survivors were Twitch Streamers, just so you know.

Honestly, if i was facing the spirit I would gen rush too.

    The Rage

    Power: Gods Hand

    Description:

The Rage was tired of seeing thread after thread about PC vs Console, SWF vs Mori tunnelling Killers and nerf NOED. He decided to just say ######### it, and forcefully enter The Entity's realm.

The Rage has the ability to back hand any Survivor he comes across. When getting close to a survivor, The Rage:

    • Gains an increase in movement speed by 5% every 3 seconds, up to 50% maximum movement speed, totalling 165%
    • Extended Lunge range, up to 5 extra meters when gaining your first Gods Hand stack
    • Immediate contact with a survivor will instantly kill them, turning them into a pile of blood and gore
    • End game chat is disabled for Survivors killed by Gods Hand, because why would a back handed Survivor still be able to speak? sit the ######### down
    • Gain 100,000BP for every killed Survivor

"If I see one more "OMG WHY ARE PC PLAYERS SO SWEATY/CONSOLE PLAYERS ARE [BAD WORD]" I swear to The Entity I'm gonna explode"

Please at least attempt a civil conversation, alright?

I think that's the main point you made there - "it's something they like". People have passions and hobbies. I used major sports and such as an obvious illustration. But competitiveness is at every level.

If it's a school game of football or rugby, the aim is still the same. Even in a friendly game of cards, despite being relaxed, you still play to win. Playing to win doesn't equal an a*****e. It's natural to compete.

Ultimately, it's about whether someone is a good or bad winner or loser. If someone is a bad winner they will unjustly mock their conquest. A bad loser will make excuses to take away from focusing on themselves.

Yes, but you aren't listening and are beginning to sound like a broken record. Competing in a professional sport vs just playing a video game are very different because sure both people enjoy what they do but one of them is being PAID. Yes, both of the people are trying to win but the people playing those sports will put a lot more effort into it than the person casually playing a video game (Like I've been saying).

A had a killer perk idea that could be a counter to dead hard. Never gave it a name but, once every 180 seconds the killer can press A and it will give them an extra lunge attack after a missed basic attack. This would cause a 2 second cooldown similar to the nurses blink. My idea was that if they miss a lunge attack then it won't activate for them after the missed lunge as to not give the perk too much distance by itself.

Is this a killer or survivor perk? Can I apply this to the other Claudette not doing gens? And does it come with the added effect of making them broken if they try to self care against sloppy?

  • When a survivor is on death hook, gain the endurance status effect when within 15 meters of them. Each protection hit you take for someone gives you 1 token up to a max of 10. Each token increases altruistic speeds by 1/2/3%. Gain the ability to see the auras of survivors on death hook within 15/25/35 meters.

While healing another survivor, press the secondary action button (not activate ability) to become "bound" with a survivor. When you press the secondary action button after binding yourself to a survivor it removes all negative status effects from the other survivor and applies them all to you (broken, exhausted, deep wound, exposed, etc.) if you have any positive status effects (Haste, endurance, etc) they are applied to the other survivor. After activation this perk lasts 30 seconds and has a cool down of 90 seconds. When affected by this perk both survivors gain the cursed status effect and can see each others auras.

The only difference I've noticed between Console and PC players is the blissful quiet at the end of the game where the Console Players can't talk. I kind of wish they would muzzle the PC players too. Why? Most of the decent folk just say GG and leave it at that. There isn't that much more that goes into it. If we aren't going to talk more, why create a situation where we have to say anything at all. If it isn't a quick GG, it is going to be salt, profanity, or whatever. Who needs that? :)

That is why I make it a point to say more than GG. I like to compliment the people I was impressed with and/or give honest critiques if I can help players that struggled. But I think I'm swimming upstream and the trend is unlikely to catch on. So, with that in mind, I'd rather we not talk at all. :)

I sometimes wonder what PC players say....

  • I need to clarify a few things because some people are putting words in my mouth. #1, I never said playing to win was a bad thing but being "that" spirit that spends $100 on headphones and turns the volume up to the max just so you don't need to waste a perk slot on stridor or being "that" survivor who plays blendette with the small pp build and flashlight clicks and teabaggs the whole game is a bit much. #2 I never said being better than me meant you were sweaty. I usually play Claudette with the roving healer outfit and large walnut glasses Claudette the brightest outfits ever and usually bring a bunch of altruistic perks and balanced and can easily be mindgamed so I'm not exactly the best or most meta player. #3 I also never said I had to be handed free wins. I'm not the best but I'm not complete garbage either. #4 I know the globe doesn't just mean PC but with names like Hex: Devour Ass or Quentin the Crackhead I can safely assume that it's a PC player.

  • @Desh said:

Imagine being called Sweaty because you didn't lose. Are people just supposed to hand free Wins to you because you're a console player?

Nope. If I'm dead on hook, kill me. If you see me chase me. I just find that PC players usually are the most sweaty.

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/187350/why-are-pc-players-so-sweaty

Btw the globe icon doesn't mean PC it just means its someone on a different version of the game.

If your on Xbox the globe could be Playstation Switch Or PC so you might not have even run into a single PC player.

Also killers do have to sweat right now due to archives such as "Item of obsession" or whatever its called that asks survivors to escape with a purple tier item or better so killers are being swamped by SWF going all out.

So in order to win killers have been going all out in response atm.

That's true, I didn't about the archives but it's still kinda annoying going against all the sweating, camping and tunneling. But i can usually tell it's a PC player in two steps i call Margrette's Simple Steps to Diagnose a PC Player. #1, how fast do they turn? even though we can get our sensitivities up to the same level most console players don't put their sensitivity as killer up to the max because it's hard to control. #2, Is their name Hex: Devour Ass or Hex: Ruined? If so, its probably a PC player since that would be a console player's permanent gamertag and there could be only 1 person with that gamertag.

Not at all. Someone playing to win a football game vs someone trying to win playing Mario is exactly the same thing when it comes to effort. Money has no relevance in terms of how hard someone plays. In any competitive game online, people play as well as can be. Just because someone wants to play well doesn't make them sweaty. Sweaty is purely a term used by people to justify their own losses.

That's inaccurate especially since pro football players get serious injuries that have lasting damage while playing and still go back and play because it's both something they like and makes them on average 5 million dollars. Most people would stop playing Dead by Daylight if they had a chance to break a bone or get a concussion while playing.

What's the point of sweating? It's an video game and not the god damn NFL for Christs sake

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

Doesn't the word "sweaty" apply to anyone who wants to play well? I don't get that word. When Man Utd dominated football, did other teams claim they were sweaty? When Eastenders won soap of the year, did Coronation Street actors claim it was because they're sweaty? When acts like Meatloaf, Bryan Adams or Drake stayed at no.1 in the charts, did acts like Pantera, Everything Everything, Radiohead, etc. call them sweaty?

I just don't get the word at all. Other than an excuse for another player to feel better about themself, it's completely nonsensical to me. Unless it turns into a mutual meme game it is always competitive in nature.

Admittedly, I don't play crossplay because of the advantages a PC has over console, which makes it unbalanced. However, just because PC players may win more as a result, it's ludicrus to label them sweaty.

#1, comparing someones jobs that they get paid for to a very buggy cat and mouse style game that people play in their free time is (no offense) stupid. Especially the football one since each game matters for the future of their career which pays somewhere around 5.15 million on average. And #2 trying to actually win and playing like you ARE a football star playing for your paycheck of 5 million dollars is completely different

Your definition of "fair and balanced" isn't the same as someone else's definition and if someone want's to slug for the 4k or rush generators when injured, then ######### let them. "boohoo that player ruined my fun", guess what honey, it's the same story in other PvP games, get used to it and realise that platform does not matter.

Well I have 2 very important things to tell you. #1 the whole point of a game kinda is fun and if it wasn't then we would all be playing paint drying simulator 2020 or overwatch. and 2, Dead by Daylight isn't actually a competitive game and even if it was competitive games are usually decently well balanced unlike dbd which contains the 4 horsemen of poor game design which is keys, red moris, the spirit and the small pp survivor build (and I guess a fifth being the OoO swf groups which apparently exist).

I just don't like to play on console. I only have a small room and a small TV, so PC it is. And even while I'm on PC, that thing is 5 years old and wasn't the best when I got it. All the graphical and engine updates payed their tolls. From 60fps on high 2 years ago I now play on low with everything between 10-60fps. Lèry's is the worst. Sometimes I have 20fps during the chase on some maps. So playing PC does not always come with an advantage.

I first and foremost do what my role wants me to do. Survive as Survivor and kill as Killer. But I can also have fun. When I play killer it is mostly because the Survivors do something funny,as Survivor it is mostly me or others who do funny things.

But you are right on one point: more PC players play more competitive than console players.

I'm asking why though. Like, doesn't it get tiring being "that guy" who uses DS, unbreakable, adrenaline, deadhard? Like, sure perks like for the people, autodidact and solidarity aren't meta but they're fun to use.

I dont know maybe their just really hot.

    Honestly, same dude

Killers are sweaty for actually trying to win?

Does this mean that survivor gameplay is so casual and easy that there is no need to "sweat" to win?

Playing the game isn't sweating but playing like your actual life depends on it is a bit much

Most of the people I know on PC play for win not for fun. I've always saw PC players as hardcore players, because why invest so much more money on a computer if you can just buy a console. PC players want to win, want to have every competitive advantage possible, which translates on DbD through better framerates, Nvidia game filters, and M&K.This also translates on a gameplay and gameplan involving doing whatever it's necessary to win faster as possible.

Not to mention the "odd" hitboxes.....

  • It's not. Everyone does and I'm really no exception but do you really need to sweat your balls off?

    1. As Killer we were trained by toxic 4man swf, Object of Obsession, BNP, the old Insta Heal

    2. As Survivor we were trained by God Nurse, Crack Billy and Stridor Spirtit.

I always try to be fair but it is not always possible. I will do my best. If that means slugging for the 4k, then slugging it is. But I won't camp or tunnel if it is not necessary.

I hear a lot about Object of Obsession sweaty swf groups but is that really common? I play survivor more than killer but even when I play killer I don't ever experience that. Can anyone tell me about the rarity of this occurrence?

is actually hilarious because you say PC killers are sweaty but PC survivors dont love to rush gens as fast as console survivors do tho. they are less skilled with the looping part but damn they love to hold on m1 way more than pc survivors do who do prefer getting chased most of them...im an exception becasue i dont mind at all doing gens in fact i usually do get like 2 to 3 gens per match becasue i know my teamamtes hate doing gens and if i dont do at least 2 per match we usually lose.

I would honestly not want to play PC with crossplay off if we gen rush in comparison

Also this. I'm used to very tight precise loops from survivors and everything nasty you can think of. A lot of console players panic and don't do loops efficiently. Some do, but not a lot.

That's true but I'm more talking about things like "this person had for the people? Time to tunnel!" "Playing Laurie? Time to camp AND tunnel!"

PC players sweaty? Please. I've encountered so many console players sneaking and healing each other within the first 5 seconds of an unhook and camping hatches. Trust me, it's on both sides.

Yeah but the difference is that's every game with PC players

Btw the globe icon doesn't mean PC it just means its someone on a different version of the game.

If your on Xbox the globe could be Playstation Switch Or PC so you might not have even run into a single PC player.

Also killers do have to sweat right now due to archives such as "Item of obsession" or whatever its called that asks survivors to escape with a purple tier item or better so killers are being swamped by SWF going all out.

So in order to win killers have been going all out in response atm.

I usually know it's pc due to the fact hitboxes go to ######### and their name is hex: devour ass or something along those lines
