  • I was playing solo survivor on Sanctum of Wrath. There was a 2 man SWF that were CONSTANTLY doing vault or locker spam near me, sand bagging, that stupid rapid unhook cancel animation, and all of the troll stuff Survivors SHOULDN’T be doing to other Survivors.

It was a total nightmare. Thankfully, due to bond, I was able to prolong the time before these other 2 survivors could come near me too frequently, but they were truly awful. Worse still they were able to loop the killer expertly, and near endlessly.

Every time I was found, injured, or hooked by the killer it was because of these trolls.

Anyway, at some point the fourth survivor was dead but I was still miraculously still alive to see one of the trolls hooked, and the other one of them slugged. I ran up to the one that was hooked and just stood there pointing at them over and over again, making it crystal clear I’m not saving them. After the killer hooked the other slug they returned to this hook. They injured me, but then I think they could see what was happening. The killer let me continue pointing and watching this troll struggle and die on the first hook before then downing me and hooking me.

I didn’t care. I was just happy to be a smug bastard and rub it into one of these trolls faces how pissed I was.

You need to memorise doors and paths as you go so you can cut survivors off whilst dashing, it's hard to pull off but you feel like a god when you do

I’m meant to remember paths and doors on a procedurally generated map?

Apart from the outer halls, the centre area, and the main office, everything else is randomised.

I like oppression but coup de grace didn’t need a nerf in the slightest. Hoarder is okay with Franklin’s though

Hoarder is great on stealth killers. The survivors never expect it.

It’s already a worse bamboozle so nobody is going to use it on the killers that need it ( billy ,bubba)

    Worse Bamboozle?!

    Are you suffering from stroke?!

  • @Phasmamain said:

If crowd control has no cooldown why should blood favour?

I thought this too upon the reveal of Crowd Control.

That’s to say: I understood why the devs were very reserved with Blood Favour. It affects a key part of looping, and too easily denying pallets could have made the perk far too powerful. So I could see why it had a cooldown, even for a hex.

But then I saw Crowd Control, and I’m like “wait, why does THAT not have a cool down?! But Blood Favour does?!”

I can see them buffing Blood Favour at some point. I think they just wanted to be careful and observe how it performs on the live servers first.

  • I’m too lazy to peruse my discussions, but it’s one I posted about my disappointment that we didn’t get the buff yet upon the release of Twins. Peanits was the first to respond saying something along the lines of “it was an embarrassing screw up, the range buff is delayed but definitely coming, but can’t say when”

  • @Orion said:

I asked someone more knowledgeable than I am and he said this never made it to the PTB to begin with, it was just something they thought about doing and ended up not doing. However, there's a very good reason why.

16 meters per instance of Open-Handed would mean that every survivor aura-reading perk would have its range increased by 64 meters if everyone had Open-Handed. To put that number into perspective, a 128 meters radius is map-wide. Now, Kindred 3 has a base range of 16 meters. With Open-Handed, that's 80 meters of always knowing exactly where the killer is when they hook someone.

    TL;DR, Open-Handed with a 16-meter buff would be OP.

Once the range buffs go live Open Handed will no longer stack. One Open Handed will affect the whole team, but additional instances of Open Handed will not extend aura reading beyond the additional 16m that one Open Handed will provide.

  • Peanits confirmed that the Open Handed change is definitely coming. But they can’t confirm when.

  • Goddammit.

This stupid forum just deleted everything I just typed!!!

    Heres the short version.

    1. its supposed to make the game harder if you find the game too easy.
    2. Take protection hits for teammates that are tunnelled. The killer can’t ignore you on the ground if they don’t want you reviving. This can save a team mates life.
    3. No blood means easily sneak away from an unhook.
    4. No Mither is the ONLY exception where in the dying state you should ALWAYS attempt to crawl away first. If a killer realises their mistake and returns for you, no blood and reduced grunting means you’re harder to find. Crawl, hide, THEN recover.

I've been playing for awhile but I'm still very bad in chases.

One of these situations always happens to me:

*The killer knows how to break the loop

*The chase is in an open area and there is nothing that can help in time

*Mind game makes me make a mistake

*Without Iron Will they never lose me

Usually the killer finds me first because they spawn close and they down me pretty quick. after that they tunnel me because I'm an easy target.

Sometimes i die first because they are not leaving me and I'm leaving the game with the lowest points. it's frustrating that this happens often.

How is tunneling is fair in my position?

Learn better stealth. Be more cautious.

  • @Chchchcheryl said:

I'm pretty sure with purple windstorm wraith can lunge at 11.6m/s which is about Twice as fast as your sprint burst, albeit only as long as his lunge lasts. You best sprint burst whilst he uncloaks or he can just lunge on your ass

Also literally any killer can lunge into your sprint burst if they do it right but they just don't have the speed bonus

    This.

Also pretty much any survivor waiting till last second to Sprint Burst against any killer is gambling with server latency.

    Don’t get cocky. Just run.

  • @Chchchcheryl said:

Makes my terror radius non directional.

    Imagine Wraith with:

    Distressing

    The aforementioned TR perk

    Lullaby

    Unnerving

Addons; The Beast (TR whilst cloaked), Coxcombed Clapper (silent bell).

    Nothing would make me happier

All TR are non directional. The only cues they give are how close the killer is, not where they’re coming from.

  • @Snap_Tobiyume said:

Because that 16m terror radius is the only thing that makes Myers unique. Oh, and huntress' terror radius is 20 meters.

Pig also used to have a unique TR of 28m. (Or 26m. I can’t quite remember which).

Undying would have been nerfed when Crowd Control would have been released. This Perk is totally worth being a Hex and having it up all game would really be too much.

    Exactly.

I thought the exact same thing once I saw Crowd Control. There wasn’t a chance in hell they were going to let Undying remain unchanged if the Ruin + Undying combo wasn’t seen as a problem.

Not a bad load out to use in low ranks when killers don't sweat for a 4k and tunnel the weakest link I myself have used this and other similar load outs. My personal favourite is No mither, Dead Hard, Spine Chill and Decisive Strike. So although you're not well hidden you have dead hard to get you out of a tricky spot and Decisive to punish tunnelling killers.

Padded jaws trapper actually has an secret advantage cause you can use it to gain stbfl stacks really fast.

Sounds to me you need to drop the meta for a while and get out of your comfort zone. some perks are quite a bit better then people give them credit.

Thank you. Experimentation pays off dividends.

I’m sorry, you make many fringe arguments but this is one I have to slap down.

Besides being a 1 shot to every killer in the game and liable to being hard tunneled; you are unable to support your team through bodyblocks, unhooking, and your build doesn’t even include dead hard or resilience to at least take advantage of the injured state.

It’s just a mediocre, and crippling, stealth build. At least run spine chill so you don’t get bodied by ambush killers.

You make the game a free win for any Oni player, which I assume you rarely face since those are mostly seen at high ranks; which you would not be getting to with this build.

The only stealth perk you need in this game is spine chill. And maybe iron will. Everything else is secondary.

    You’re kidding aren’t you?!

One of the whole point of No Mither IS to body block and do saves against tunnellers!

The killer is FORCED to not ignore you when a No Mither user takes a protection hit. It can LITERALLY stop tunnelling of teammates because they killer doesn’t want that No Mither user self reviving from the dying state.

Okay - I thought that was the reason but I'll ask this as a followup - Doesn't it seem counter intuitive to start off injured missing a health state and use two perk slots up just to be silent when you could avoid getting injured without No Mither?

If it's for the added challenge I respect that but it just seems counter intuitive outside of that.

Because I also like being able to walk away from a hook without a trace, and being more difficult to find if the killer is foolish enough to not pick me up straight away.

I know how to work with the perks strengths. To me the added challenge is worth the stealth pay off, and unique advantages the perk offers (in this build)

  • @SilentPill said:

This guy is unironically advocating no mither.

    /thread

I’ve always loved No Mither. It’s not a bad perk when knowing how to work with its strengths.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Is No Mither for the extra 50% reduction in injured groans?

It's a fun build but i think I'd replace NM with Lucky Break, especially when they buff it. Wasn't it on the list of buffs "coming soon?"

That, and I like being able to easily slink away from a hook even when the killer is coming right back.

Plus the amount of killers that just don’t pay attention and leave me on the ground...

Just had an infectious fright Nurse do just that in my last match. I started immediately crawling away. By the time she realised her mistake and turned around, she wasn’t able to find me.

  • @Dustin said:

One thing I'll ask is why No Mither with those other 3 perks? If your goal is to not be found why use a perk that starts you off injured when you're basically a mute survivor anyway at the start? Like wouldn't Lightweight be a better perk to take the fourth perk slot? What about Distortion or even Urban Evasion? I get you can argue it fits your playstyle but I just don't see the benefit it has.

Yes - I understand don't leave blood behind - But to me that just tells me not to get injured in the first place if I'm trying to be stealthy.

150% reduction to grunts of pain. Which means it counters Stridor. I.e. I’m still completely silent to anybody running Stridor.

I've gotten a few survivors with it, but if they're not newer players they typically realize what's going on after the 1st time they get beaned. Just wondering if it's been funny for anyone else though, cuz I've had some laugh moments.

Sad for solvent jug...but I do like the speed buffs I guess. They're DEVASTATING in a chase.

Yeah VHS porn is fun, but only tricks maybe one or two survivors once only. I think that’s why it’s brown add on.

And yeah I agree. It’s not so bad that the exhaustion is gone. Solvent Jug, and Garish Make Up Kit are incredibly strong add ons, especially when stacked.

I always enjoy killer at that time. It’s when all the newer players come on. Even after a bad match most survivors are nice since I main billy now

I’m jealous. In my region it seems every survivor is preparing for the defining moment of their gaming careers. It’s just too exhausting.

I don’t care about the kids. I care about the sweat lords. They make this game far too exhausting.

A slashed wrist would be a much more pleasurable experience.

  • Please stop downing first the survivors that intend to DC!!!!

So just had a game where they survivors all brought petrified offerings and the hooks were miles apart and they just ran around trying to body block and flashlight save.

Now I'm no stranger to the bully squad, this game is rife with these kinds of people but I'm just kinda tired of having to deal with game after game of really unpleasant people to play with.

Its not about winning the game its about having fun and this kind of garbage is just not fun.

When I see three flashlights I equip lightborn and franklins and get ready for what is going to probably be a really crappy game.

I should have dodged the lobby, I knew it was going to be a crapfest. Now I 4k'd but only because I felt an intense sense of "these pricks need to be taught a lesson". But I shouldn't have to do that when playing a game for fun, it made me just as toxic as they were so really everyone loses in that scenario.

We get to the post game screen and I'll forgo the vitriolic chat and abuse leveled at me for bringing lightborn and franklin's (god forbid I should bring perks that ruin this grief squads fun). What really struck me were ranks though 1 rank 16 and 3x rank 4-1. Its clearly a smurf account bully squad trolling around for low level killers to just abuse.

I've never been more in favour of a solo mode against bots because sometimes this community is a rancid dumpster fire to play with.

An epiphany we all have at one point.

I pretty much refuse to play killer on Friday evenings and through the weekend because of this kind of behaviour from survivors.

I've spent hundreds of dollars on this game and over a thousand hours. It's a funny example of how the devs change things nobody wants changed and they can lose revenue in ways they wouldn't expect lol. I'm much less inclined to purchase a cosmetic set I find visual pleasing since I can't really see it in-game anymore due to the new animations. So that's lost revenue for them for no reason other then stubbornness on not accepting player feedback. I just figured this would be a funny way to get the point across but I'm also 100% serious, I like staring at Meg's butt while she runs but it appears those days are done. RIP! Obviously I'm not going to stop playing the game but BHVR may lose 10 dollars here and there from me going forward.

This is the most ludicrous thing ever posted on these forums.

How are the new animations preventing you from seeing survivor cosmetics?!

  • I’ll repeat this till I’m dead.

Self Care is not meant to be used on its own.

It’s meant to be used with AT LEAST a medkit, but ideally Botany Knowledge and a medkit.

Self Care is meant to be “back up” for when/if a medkit runs out of charges mid heal.

There’s not a chance in hell you have Self Care in your kit, but not Botany Knowledge.

  • @Sand said:

This happens to me a lot in rank 1, where a survivor crawls into a corner that they know the killer can't pick them up in as the last survivor and bleed out. Is that taking the game hostage?

No. It’s when the game is being prevented from ending. In most (not all) cases, it’s usually the survivors that hold the game hostage. Survivors can die, or exit the game through gates or hatch. Killers cannot do anything to end a game if survivors hide all match and are borderline impossible to find.

  • @Science_Guy said:

I thought Dragon's Grip would be meta. I still wouldn't say it's a terrible perk but it's nothing special.

That's Cheryl Mason … From Silent Hill not original at all I have her because I personally enjoy Silent hill (even though James had encounters with Pyramid head not Cheryl so James would make the most sense but it doesn't matter now)

I was never talking about licensed If another publisher make a female a final person and they get put in the game that's great but that's not what I'm talking about its BHVR Original Characters Nea Yui Felix David people you don't see in movies or shows or video games

    Lol.

I was pointing out the mistake in your wording.

    You used “or”, not “of”.

  • I almost never take off Bond, Leader, and Visionary these days for a number of reasons.

Bond - it just gives so much information, and super helpful when I need healing.

Leader - because Sloppy is meta. Plus it helps with a lot of clutch moments.

Visionary - because I HATE trying to find gens on indoor maps, and I HATE how often other solo survivors will accidentally 3 gen all of us if I don’t identify the gens I need to work onto avoid that.

4th perk I’ll mix up. Often it’s Open Handed for obvious reasons. Sometimes I’ll change that to either Botany Knowledge or Desperate Measures so I can heal others faster. Sometimes Vigil because although killers running Blindness add ons is very rare, it’s still very crippling to me when it happens because I’m quite reliant on Bond and Visionary now. Sometimes I’ll use WoW for extra info, and sometimes Sole Survivor, because I hate, HATE, HATE wall hack Wraith, Pig, and Myers.

OP didn't want the actual helpful advice. So I gave him some other advice.

Let’s not beat around the bush. BBQ can be fairly unbearable in solo q against high mobility killers. A lot of the “counters” are borderline useless. Because even if that individual successfully avoids BBQ a handful of times, none of that matters if the rest are dropping like flies.

Matches with high mobility killers using BBQ usually resort to solo players giving up on gens after the first repair or 2, and pretty much waiting out the hatch.

  • Forced Penance sounded entirely pointless leading up to the release of PH. I just could not wrap my head around “why?!?!”

But after spending the amount of time I did in my attempts to get PH adept and unlock his teachables, I fell in love with Forced Penance, and it’s now one of my most used perks. It surprisingly procs far more often than many (I guess) presume it would.

It’s one thing for a survivor to choose when they do or do not heal, but entirely different when that choice is denied to them completely. I’m of the opinion that how short chases are matters much, MUCH more than slowing gens down. Keeping survivors in a one hit, easier to track state dramatically shifts a match for many M1 killers. And it’s buff from 60 to 80 seconds has me loving Forced Penance even more.

  • I’ll do this often, particularly with a survivor that’s constantly trying to bait me into a chase with them.

If I have anyone that pretty much takes me to one the super strong loops, and makes it impossible to hit them, I’ll ignore them for the remainder of the match until everyone else is dead. Because then it doesn’t matter how long they attempt to loop me for.

  • @Milo said:

    Get into range.

.... get better at chasing? (that sounds stupid but well)

    Don't play solos.

All of this isn’t very helpful

  • @Claudette_Baguette said:

Leader dropped HEAVILY in usage ever since they changed the icon to ONLY appear when you are doing an action. Previously leader would show up even if you are not cleansing a totem, repair a gen, heal, etc. Now you don't always know when someone has leader.

Previously people who had the leader buff would go on a totem next to them because its faster or heal themselves because they heal faster or go for the door... I wish they would change that back.

Yeah. This is very frustrating at the moment. I’ll point out totems and chests to teammates to do them, but because they don’t know I have Leader, they’ll often ignore me.

It’s dumb that the Leader icon only shows when an action is being performed. Vigil, Streetwise, and Open Handed don’t behave this way. Respectively, Streetwise unnecessarily shows up when I’m not using an item, and Open Handed is shown to survivors that aren’t running aura reading perks.

    Why should Leader be “hidden”?

  • I almost never take off Leader for most of the reasons you’ve mentioned. I’ve had many clutch moments where Leader was the sole reason a heal was done in time, or a gate was opened in time.

  • Ahh yes... ye ol’ Agitation + Mad Grit (i’ll sometimes add extra cheese with Iron Grasp).

I’ve had many survivors DC when they go down while I’m carrying someone.

As a largely killer player (though I have played survivor up to rank 1, and play a few times a week), who plays ALL killers in rotation (despite having killers I prefer), I would count Clown and Doc among the weaker. My tier order of power would be as follows:

S tier - Spirit, Blight, Ghostface, Freddy

A tier - Nurse, Legion, Doc, Clown, Myers (with right addons)

B tier - Huntress, Plague, Deathslinger, Pig, Oni, Wraith, Hag, Trickster (so far)

C tier - Pyramidhead, Twins, Billy, Bubba

    D tier - Trapper, Demogorgon

However, I play them all (and personally love Trapper, and can make him at least A tier with the right addons), and any tier can perform well with a bit of luck and good addons. But base power alone, this is a pretty fair representation of where killers rank (in my opinion).

We’re not talking about tiers mate...

Tiers aren’t stopping me from winning most of my matches with either Clown or Doc
